Tubereuse 2 Virginale by Histoires de Parfums is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. Tubereuse 2 Virginale was launched in 2010. Top notes are Tuberose, Cherry and Tangerine; middle notes are Tuberose, Tiare Flower, Frangipani and Jasmine; base notes are Tuberose, Vanille, Patchouli and Woodsy Notes.

An Ode to Tuberose was presented with a new collection by the house of Histoires de Parfums, which includes three fragrances with key ingredient – tuberose flower. The fragrances were created to tingle your imagination with an oriental-gourmand-powdery composition of the first fragrance of the collection - Tubereuse 1 Capricieuse, romantic-oriental-fruity notes of Tubereuse 2 Virginale and animalistic-floral-leather composition refreshed with top notes of citrusy nuances Tubereuse 3 Animale.

Tubereuse 2 Virginale introduces perfect harmony of fruity notes with cherry and mandarin in a top, which add an opulent and feminine bouquet of iris, tuberose, tiare flower and frangipani, while an oriental base is built around blond wood, patchouli, vanilla and white musk.

All three fragrances are available as 120 EDP, as well as in a travel set which includes all three fragrances in amount of 13.5 ml each.

So look--maybe I don't understand tuberose. Maybe I'm a child of current tuberose trends and I only love it when it's bubblegum, or paired with juicy fruits. I've experienced designer frags like Bvlgari's darker tuberose, but maybe I'm just shocked that this scent, supposedly with the tuberose I love, is, quite literally, Grandma's neck. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why--I love every note! Where is the promised sweetness? The gourmand vibe? I love cherry, tiare flower, jasmine, base notes of patch. So why does this smell like a musty bottle from 1995? Is it the frangipani? Clearly there is something I don't get about this combo of notes. I think this stands as my worst blind buy ever--expecting cherry fruit and lovely tuberose, I got a strand of pearls and dust and the memory of my grandmother's hugs.

This one does not last long and doesn't quite do it for me. Virginale is primarily a strongly cherried tuberose. It is uncomplicated, and while it lasts, somewhat cloying or even nauseating at times. Sadly, it's just too much of one particularly narrow vein of fragrance - a candied floral bomb. 5.5/10

I wore this all last summer so Virginale reminds me of happy, sunny days. A delightful fruity floral that feels uncomplicated and weightless. The tuberose keeps a sophistication in the fragrance without being severe. The florals leans a little greener than Dyptique's Do Son but shares the same airy, feminine vibe with the fruity addition of cherry. The fruitiness of the cherry is amplified by the tangerine note rather than sitting next to it. "Virginale" captures a feeling for me of being carefree, that kind of "innocence". It has such a positive impact on my mood when I wear this and is a beautiful, delicate scent with great lasting power. I discovered this a while back when I was searching for dupes for TF's Lost Cherry (It's nothing like Lost Cherry, which I associate with a dark, cherry liqueur.) I'll have to get a bigger bottle!

lovesick

wispy white dress stained with red syrup caught on thorns, snagged and soiled with a smile. illicit affection and surreptitious duets; a secret rendezvous prompts an indiscreet smile smudging lipstick across a neck, lovingly stained. hidden horizontal hug in a field of white flowers, poppies scattered throughout like pockmarks. with stretched arms, undressing begins with eyes and backseams; teeth grazing, soothed in the cruelty of sentimentality.

a rush of an off-putting camphorous opening—green, rousing, invigorating—soon lets its guard down, learns to loosen up, and gives in to a medicinal cherry along with tangy, pithy tangerine. luckily for me, the cherry sweetens and the metholic tinge rounds out and drops off in time, allowing the scent to become creamy white with flecks of red. thorns melting off a vine reveal a satin finish, desperate to mingle with balsamic buttery tuberose, which dominates after half an hour with sweet and smooth jasmine undertones as coconut plays peek-a-boo with sour cherry behind the scenes. pearl white, cherry red, drover yellow.
the longevity leaves much to be desired, but that feels like part of the experience—elusive and kittenish; just when one is arrogant enough to believe she is in grasp, she is gone with a wink.

For some reason I really like tuberose scents. The opening notes of cherry and tuberose of this is stunning. Unique, gorgeous but not overdone, the cherry exists alongside the tuberose for the perfect amount of time before fading into the floral heart of this fragrance. The dry down was a really light tuberose and wood base.

Perfectly balanced and not overly strong. You could wear this most of the year and get by, I believe.

T2 is without a doubt the most tuberose dominated of this series. It also lacks a bit of character compared to the other two.

I consider this a pretty uncomplicated and mostly linear scent but I still find it hard to describe. The fruit in the opening is somewhat difficult to discern and I long for an element of fresh or sour but it's nowhere to be found. I just get this slightly nauseating honeyed tuberose with tiare and frangipani. T2 is veeeery floral, I don't smell much patchouli or woody notes. It's sweet but not in a gourmand way. Unfortunately not the fresh and youthful candied tuberose I had hoped for.

The opening difficult and strong, the heart and drydown is great but veeery close to skin. It is still a pretty scent. Both T1 and T3 performs a lot better, those two are major loves for me, while I'm afraid T2 merely gets a like.

Update: I find T2 easily turns nauseating and cloying, but it works a lot better now on a really hot summer day (and also great layered with T1)

Страхотен, невероятен ... абсолютна бомба.

Ah, sweet summer memories! This is a lovely warm fragrance, with a sophisticated blend of tuberose, frangipani and tiare. It's not a typical sunscreen fragrance but kind of reminds me of it. I love this type of scents and I'm glad that I'm parting ways with the samples I got from Histoire de Parfums with this one.

Tiare and cherry teach tuberose how to smell light and fruity, well-behaved and cutey. Wearing it in the winter it speaks of summer - of long summer days, tan lotion and white flowers in bloom. All done with the usual (= quite high) quality of HdP.
I like it, but 3 Animale is the kind of tuberose I’m into. 2 is too virginal for my taste.

I sprayed this all over and I just sat with it for awhile, trying to guess the notes.

It was very hard as I never would have guessed that 'green notes' aren't part of the very top and middle. I also didn't get any cherries at all.

During the dry down it very much reminded me of the original Dior Poison, but unlike Poison, this one doesn't hang around long at all. Three hours is about it. It's a nice fragrance; just not my type of tuberose.

what is this I don't even

This is quite a lovely tuberose; not overripe banana bomb, not screechy. The cherry note gives the bright happy tuberose a sexier vibe. Longevity is terrible, though.

mashafelixyasha

This is a beautiful, natural, sexy tuberose. It’s bright enough for day wear, but still sexy and certainly not just a clean innocent floral. On my skin I get a yummy honeyed tuberose with soft musk. Wears well in hot weather (have yet to try it on colder days). Unfortunately, it stays close to the skin and fades to nothing within 3-4 hours. But that just means that I get to experience the pleasure of applying it more often ;)

SweetSoul

A really wonderful sweet tuberose! I love it! Tuberose can be horrible for me (when I lived in India for a while in the 80's, that smell was everywhere, and toooo pungent, in the heat, dust and with other 'exotic' smells!!! and put me off it for life) - but sometimes it is fabulous - like in this lovely perfume!!! I love it, really! It is very beautiful. Charming.

SuzanneS

An adorable sweet tuberose scent. Very modern, feminine and sexy if you are into big florals. Pleasantly surprised. The cherry makes it charming and the tuberose isnt out of control but sweetly soft. Love the happy sweet vibe.Going to need a full bottle.

MadeiraD

Candy and flowers, a lollipop in a flower garden. It's remembering what it's like to contemplate "going all the way," a sugary hint at future obscenity.

It's very sexy, the tuberose/frangipani/tiare combo give a sense of something ideally exquisitely fleshy.

It's your first kiss mingled with fucking on fresh sheets.

Bravo.

darksome

Tubereuse 2 Virginale opens with a relative harsh, bitter opening, that reminds me on visiting an old, vintage hairdresser shop that uses tons of hairspray on their customers. The essence of hairspray is evenly mixed with a not very sweet, resinous and heavy lipstick note. This is the most unplesant stage of the scent (and also the stage when the cherry tone is the most realistic smelling).

But wait.. after a while the scent gets rounder, creamier. It still has powdery, bitter qualities that remind on a hairspray and give the scent overall a vintage feeling, but it's less pungent and actually pleasant if you are lover of scents like this. Next to that, I can now detect many more notes and the cherry lipstick note is still resinous and of quite significant weight, but it's way sweeter and creamier.
So next to the lipstick with now just a pinch of hairspray I can smell also a sparklig tangerine. Also something exotic, flowery and buttery, almost coconutty, of what I'm pretty sure is the tiare flower.

Mmm, the drydown gets even better.. the whole combo gets even creamier, more buttery and less bitter, but still enough to hold the scent in fence for getting too sweet. Now the tiare flower is partly replaced with a really sophisticated tuberose and the tangerine note gets less sour and less fresh - it turns more syrupy.

Overall T2V has some really good vinage feel quialities to it, that I appreciated (or not) in for example E. Coudray's Vanille Et Coco, or Tom Ford's Violet Blonde and Cartier's - Le Baiser Du Dragon. These are of course quite different scents, but they all share this bitter/sweet, vintage vibe smell (and maybe something more?).
Tubereuse 2 Virginale also shares some qualities with Tubereuse 3 Animale - which is less vintage smelling than T2A, but less feminine and sweeter at the same time! How do they do that? Magnificent.

KeLLStar

I saw this at a bricks & mortar store at a fantastic price so I impulse bought it with another Histoires de Parfums.

I have to say, after that, I was not really enamored with Tubereuse 2 Virginale at first. I actually regretted buying it after wearing it initially as I thought I didn't like it after all, however now I'm glad I did. It's taken me a few wearings to appreciate it.

T2V is quite heady from the onset. I feel that this is a love or hate fragrance & reminds me of 80's & 90's powerhouses.

You won't find a fresh clean tuberose here - and certainly no green notes. T2V is quite powdery & does not change at all during the day.

Yes, the tuberose IS definitely prevalent, however expect it to share the spotlight primarily with Cherry - & then Jasmine to a degree. It's quite sweet and buttery due to the Frangipani & delicate Tiare - adding to the powder is the addition of Patchouli.

A gourmand feel is present due to the Cherry & Mandarin. Finally, the Woods notes, and Vanilla rounds it off & brings everything together.

Sillage - not sure as no one has ever commented on that yet. I would guess that it's moderate with a couple of sprays.

Compliments - none as of yet.

Due to the powdery-ness I would recommend being conservative with sprays.

Longevity - this lasts quite a few hours - about 8 hours - on my skin. The last couple of hours it's a skin scent.

If you buy this primarily on the basis that it's a tuberose scent you may be disappointed. Don't expect it to be fresh or green like Diptyque's Do Son, or Estee Lauder's Tuberose Gardenia. More in the line of Michael Kor's Michael for Women but with Cherry & Jasmine.

This MUST be worn on clean & moisturised skin so you get the best notes coming through (eg so you don't get a "washing powder" note).

I would recommend this fragrance if you like tuberose but don't want it to be the main star. You MUST like powdery fragrances.

sleepy*weasel

Very good quality, pleasant fruity floral. The tuberose is there, but it's not really what I think of as a tuberose scent. It is slightly too sugary for me. Feel free to wear it to your local Fair, while wearing a pretty dress, with your hair in ribbons. That type of thing :)

freakypirate

Opens very sweet, also metallic and sharp. I am guessing ambroxan and cashmeran. The tuberose comes through and has the same candy-like sweetness as in Tubéreuse 1. I also smell a bit of jasmine or something white floral.

Unfortunately nothing else gets through the ambroxan/cashmeran notes for me, it doesn't work very well on my skin and isn't too pleasant on the nose either. This one's a scrubber for me. Do try if you can handle ambroxan and cashmeran and love tuberose. I dig the tuberose candy sweetness!

Rorshach1004

A strong tuberose bomb opens this perfume. It then dries down to a lavender and animalic sweaty musk that is not quite my cup of tea. I like some sweetness, and this one is just a bit too rough and ready for my tastes. If you like tuberose and musk then you’ll enjoy it, but I’m not a fan.

I was in a hurry this winter morning, and it was too early and too cold, but I had a strong urge to test one of my samples and so I blindly grabbed the first one that fell into my hand. I couldn't even read the small letters on the vial in that dark room, so I gave up and decided to give it a "blind test" moment.
I was curious to see if - after being interested in fragrances for quite a while - I can blindly recognize any notes at all. And then I got a blast of patchouli and thought that it was somehow rather classy if quite modern scent and I knew that there were strong flowers, but that's about it. At that point I gave up and checked what it was that I was testing. :-D So - for me personally the patchouli was strong at the beginning, along with the tuberose (as I have later learned) and the fantastic cherry! I love cherries in any form, especially sour, black, Morrelo cherries and I dare to say that I sense a bit of darkness in those cherries here :-). I must say I enjoy this fragrance tremendously, I find it alluring somehow from the first breath and as "pansylady" says: almost mesmerizing. It made me feel somehow strangely happy and confident.
We have a difficult relationship with white flowers and I rarely like fragrances that contain them, but of all of those, I personally find tuberose the most attractive/fitting/intriguing white flower for me.
I would think that calling a tuberose "virginale" must be rather far fetched, as this tends to be a very powerful flower if anything, but here they were right: later on when wearing this an 8 years old girl told me that it smells "like Freya". And when asked who she is, I was told that Freya is a little baby girl. So here goes. It would seem that this fragrance is full of a sweet, gentle, baby tuberose. :-) Wonderful.

butterbean

This is a beautiful fruity cherry tuberose and jasmine/tiare backed up by patchouli.

The star of the show is tuberose followed by cherry and jasmine/tiare. The patchouli gives it a earthy medicinal spice which at times gives this vague cherry cough syrup like quality.

I don't detect the plumeria, however I do smell vanilla. The tiare and jasmine are almost equal strength and quite pronounced.

I do really like it. Not sure I am liking the patchouli in it or not.

EDIT - 11 hrs later - patchouli patchouli patchouli and that is all that remains.
I will hold off on a purchase of this one - too much patchouli.

Cashmeran! And lots of it! The tuberose-cashmeran combo, which we have all already experienced in Michael Kors Michael in very similar proportions, makes Tubereuse Virginale a bit less unique, but it is still original, and very, very beautiful.

It is extremely strong in the opening, I get tuberose plus some other white flowers (it must be tiare, but I smell some jasmine, too), woody accord, and juicy cherries. I do not get vanilla as a separate note, but I guess it is vanilla that makes the composition so sweet (very sweet, but I like it).

This is a very beautiful fruity white floral, it smells expensive, sultry in a femme fatale way. This is a kind of scent you crave while being infatuated with it. Exotic cherry woody sweetness.

The start is all girly, frangipani jam,the base is very woody, unisex. The right guy will pull this off.

Sandra2

I'd say this is tuberose-light, or tuberose for beginners. It's softened with fruity notes, which give it a gentle and calm aura. I couldn't compare it with carnal flower at all.
Someone who would like to get to know tuberose fragrances should start with this one. It won't scare him with loudness and sharpness.

Mila Pulina

Not for me; headache-alarm. I wanted to wash it away immediately and after hours I still could not stand it. I give it maybe one day another try....

Eos

This opens with a strong grapey tuberose note. Tuberose and creamy tiare are most pronounced for about an hour. The dry down of this scent has a sharp green aspect to it that is reminiscent of galbanum. The green note is a welcome addition to the voluptuous combination of tuberose and patchouli though, and serves to ground the composition in a natural but unexpected way.

Aside from the opening, I didn't get much fruitiness or non-floral sweetness. Overall, this is an interesting take on tuberose that's well worth sampling for lovers of the flower.

missk

Tubereuse 2 Virginale has surprised me, in a good way. The composition is much sweeter than I thought it would be, introducing some likable gourmand qualities. The tuberose, although dominant, tends to be a little overshadowed by the other notes in this fragrance.

The initial blast is a rich and complex blend of sweet, creamy tuberose and tiare flower. I was hooked from the very word go, and left the fragrance counter feeling very pleased with myself.

The heart impressed me even more, with a delicious, juicy cherry accord blending beautifully with the tuberose. I would never have believed that a fruity take on such a strong white floral accord would be so successful. This is where the gourmand quality comes in, with the composition becoming quite sugary and syrupy.

Tubereuse 2 Virginale is perhaps not a wonderful representation of tuberose on its own, but if you embrace the composition as a whole, the experience is breath-taking. Some may find this fragrance a little too sweet, but I personally find it refreshing and sensual.

Frangipani, white woods and vanilla rounds this fragrance out into something quite warm and cozy. At this point I'd say that the tuberose in Tubereuse 2 Virginale has been made to smell edibile. The cherry accord holds its strength right through to the drydown.

The longevity and sillage is fantastic, yet I wouldn't expect anything less from Histoires des Parfums. I would recommend this fragrance to younger women and to those that like florals with a sugary twist.

kosmoskukka

It was this week when I heared birds singing and I knew Spring time is coming and soon. I have been thinking this one to next springtime scent and to early summer time. This scent is good to moods when nature is rebirthing and starting to bloom. I love this time of year and Tubereuse 2 Virginale is just correct one for these spring time feelings and moods. Helps also us people to rebirth from winter to coming summer, opens our senses and raising joy in our chests. Very Joyfull scent this is indeed me thinks.

sherapop

Histoires de Parfums TUBEREUSE 2 is a clean, smooth, slightly creamy tuberose perfume. Something of a straightforward floral composition, I'd say. This is definitely less creamy than FRACAS and very different from TUBEREUSE 1 in that there is no discernible greenish note. Nor does TUBEREUSE 2 share the slightly vegetal quality of CARNAL FLOWER. All in all, a simple yet very appealing presentation of tuberose. Great longevity and good sillage.

pansylady

mmmm, I'm loving this! Tubereuse 2 is mesmerizing! In its top notes, it weaves an aroma that I can best describe as heavenly black cherry pipe tobacco. As the scent develops, it becomes a harmonious duet of crisp iris and tuberose,in which neither flower dominates the scent bouquet. The flowers stay crisp, not billowy, making this a good unisex candidate.

Potency and longevity are moderately good, probably a 6-7 on a scale of 1-10.

Something about this scent brings to mind another stunner, Alien Liqeuer. If you like that one, definitely check out Tubereuse Virginale!

Doc Elly

Virginale is a full-blown white floral scent in the beginning, a mature tuberose flower lusting after a pollinator, on a mission to lose its virginity. If there are fruity top notes, they blend into the tuberose so thoroughly that they’re not evident. After about 20 minutes a fluffy musk kicks in and the tuberose becomes more grape-y, gradually giving way to a generic tropical flower accord with just a hint of fruit and musk. Rather than revealing a clearly defined base, the scent just gradually fades away over the course of about 6 hours. Sillage is strong at first, but quickly diminishes to a whisper. This is a scent that comes on strong, but does not sustain the initial effort. Nice, but I did not find it not compelling.

Anorton1965

At first spray, the tuberose is the most prevelant scent. After an hour, it's settled to a soft tiare scent. Which is what I've been searching for. It's not overpowering, or too sweet.

If you've been in Hawaii, you know that you can smell the scent of the tiare softly in the breeze. Just a hint, just enough to tickle the senses, just enough to be a pleasant tease.

I don't get musk, patchouli or vanilla on me.

It's not something that upon sniffing my wrist I think "hmm.... this is more appropriate for someone younger" it's a scent women of all ages could wear gracefully.

Sillage is medium to a little more. It's leaving a soft trail behind me. Not strong enough that anyone can pinpoint the particular scent or person wearing it, but strong enough they know they smell something pleasant. (Like I said, just a teaser)

Strength of the perfume is pretty good. I only sprayed it on one wrist and in the crook of one elbow this moring. (same side) So, I applied lopsided, and almost 1.5 hours later I can still smell it without plastering my nose to my arm. So, it needs to be applied with a gentle hand. Too much would be very overpowering and take the fragrance from exotic and teasing to in your face and smacking you in the head too strong.

I'm definitely adding this to my list of I want.

donniekaterina

It's flirty, young and fresh. It has an exotic air that travels you to caribbean islands.I smell intense tiare flower I believe it could be wore by someone who likes girly scents.
