Now this has thrown a spanner in the works...!

I wasn't expecting much from Rose Chant, I figured it would be pleasant enough but ultimately forgettable but as it turns out this is eerily similar to Zoologist Nightingale! Which is £160 (and that's the discounter price!) meanwhile this is almost half the price...

Nightingale has a noticeably earthy quality (it's jam-packed with earthy, woody and amber base notes) and also a sour note (but in a pleasant way - due to the plum blossom I think?), meanwhile this is a bit brighter and sweeter, but I'm still extremely taken aback by how similar the two are! Definitely need to give my Rose Chant sample a lot of love to decide which of the two I want to go for...

Edit: a week in, I still really enjoy this scent profile. HOWEVER, I finally remembered to actually test the two side by side and uhhhh... A very good reminder that memory is fallible lol. They *do* have some similar things going on (rose, spice, woods) but overall they really are a world apart. Nightingale is far deeper, almost smoky in comparison. I wouldn't even call them sisters - Nightingale has a strong vintage feel; I'd liken it more to grandmother-granddaughter (or even Rose Chant being for the day time, and Nightingale... well, it's in the name). Rose Chant really is very pretty, and has been given a slight twist thanks to the cinnamon but ultimately I do find Nightingale more interesting. If money was no object I'd own happily both.

Delicious rose. Soft, gentle, feminine. Not opulent, but honest.
The spicy cinnamon aroma is nicely combined with woody base. It is tasteful, comforting and non-offensive fragrance.
A bit forgettable, but easy to like.

Unfortunately, longevity is poor (3 hours top), but personally I appriciate that projection isn't intoxicating. Intimate aroma suits this romantic, smooth perfume better.

The notes in this smell natural and smooth. Rose is the first and most prominent note that I sense. I also clearly sense the iris in the top notes. Cinnamon is there but it's subtle.

Nothing polarizing or harsh. Not too intense of a scent. Totally inoffensive.

This is more of a feminine scent, certainly not masculine in tone. But if I smelled this on a man I wouldn't think he is obviously wearing a women's perfume, I would think he just washed himself with a nice, high quality scented soap. This is not too sweet of a scent.

A pleasant fragrance. The cinnamon is such a nice pairing to the floral notes.

I consider this an "all-rounder", meaning this fits every season and occasion.

I always searched for something that is not citrusy or heavy aromatic for hot weather, I found first Cruz Dell Sur II from Xerjoff and now this dreamy fragrance, it smells like the roses I used to smell in Syria, so rosy fresh and sweetness overtime, it’s not feminine or masculine, it’s unisex and leaning a bit to they masculine side because of its dreamy smell I guess, it’s very smooth indicating they high quality of the mixing process which can be seen by Oud For Greatnesses from Initio. I love it but some guys may find it not masculine enough and some women may find it bit wired since most of the designer feminine fragrances have heavy flower notes that overwhelm the other notes in the fragrance.

I really like this! Unlike the previous reviewer, I don't find this sweet at all. I haven't been overly impressed by the Novellista perfume line but I was intrigued by the notes of this one and was pleasantly surprised by how nice this is. I was a bit worried over the cinnamon note in this, fearing it would be too gourmand-y if the scent was sweet, but I can't really detect the spice in this. To my nose this is a warm but slightly green (wintry evergreens?) rose fragrance which is exactly the rose scent for colder months I had been looking for. I can tell I'm going to be wearing this a lot.

Huge disappointment. It has a great opening, rose obviously, but in a lovely not-so-sweet way. Unfortunately, after about 2h it got a lot sweeter, which imo is taking away its originality. It has pretty nice longevity, though, so if You love rosy scents and don't mind sweetness, can give it a shot when on discount.
