I really liked the opening, it's citrusy and sweet and there's something aromatic about it - maybe from the citrus zest. It's fresh and sweet, but it's not reminding the cleaning products. The downside is - it's so faint and it's not long living - after the 20-30 minutes I barely can detect it.

Sits so close to my skin and has such a weak projection that it really feels like wearing nothing. I do like the scent and wish I could smell it more or for longer, but on the plus side it's light for spring/summer and not overpowering at all. It's a very lactonic lemon with that marshmallow-vanilla sweetness throughout and at the base. Want to love it more, but would never shell out for a full bottle this weak.

Fizzy musky lemon...yes you will find similarities of this with other fizzy musky lemon fragrances. Cardamom & musk combined with citrus typically that's what you look out for these style fizzy lemon scents, gives it that sherbet feel. Ginger & tonka with lemon can have this effect too like with goldfield & banks ingenious ginger

I have an extremely hard time with a prominent lemon note. (Example: Lira smelled a little too much like lemon pledge in the opening for me.) But Mrs Gloss is so gorgeous. I actually found a lemon fragrance that I love. It's not sharp at all. The lemon is the most prominent note but it's more like a dainty lemon. Very soft, sweet with a small hint hint of powderiness on a base of fluffy marshmallow and vanilla base. I can't stop smelling my wrists. The only downfall is how fleeting this fragrance is. I really wish it lasted more than an hour on my skin. But truth be told, I'll bring a decant in my purse and reapply all day long if I have to. I'll be wearing this a lot during spring and summer.

Wanted to love this but the opening smells like citrus cleaning product. I strongly prefer Solstice Scents Chiffon for a creamy lemon scent over this one.

Very heavily citrus cleaning product or lemon cough drop in the opening, which is lasting at least 30 minutes for me. Whatever the drydown is, it isn’t worth enduring this phase. Glad I only bought a sample.

This is the exact lemon fragrance I've been searching for!! 4160 Tuesdays is quickly becoming one of my favorite houses. The citrus is bright and photorealistic, like smelling the juice and the rind. Stunning mouthwatering lemon, not like cleaner at all. This first burst of juicy lemon is softened fairly quickly with THE creamiest loveliest vanilla that's not too sweet, like a fancy vanilla custard. The lemon remains throughout but retreats to the background. My official sample states that there is also orris in the base and I can sense a soft buttery orris grounding the fragrance and keeping it from being 100% edible gourmand, and this balance is what I think pushes this fragrance from a like to a love for me. I didn't think I would like this from the reviews but I'm so glad I ordered a sample. Immediately bought a full bottle!

I am back to give 3 cheers for the EXTREME longevity of this scent. Earlier I gave it a review that I stand by--it is not my favorite citrus by any means. But I was using up my sample, and mid day I layered LaVanila Vanilla Coconut over this to try to soften it up. (not a great result)...
Get this--the following morning I still had the very discernible Mrs. Gloss on my wrist, after 24 hours, AND, the scent I layered over it was long gone. Now that is tenacity!

Really disliked this. Going by the notes, I should love it. I’m so keen to have a sherbet lemon scent. Unfortunately, this really didn’t fulfil the brief for me. Smelt really unpleasant on me, akin to cheap bathroom cleaner.

This one is such a weirdo to me, because there are absolutely zero situations where I'd want to wear it in public. It's too realistic - it smells exactly like 'powdered' sherbet (wizz fizz) and 'typical' sherbet (ice cream adjacent). It's a scent that would work better as a room spray for a sweets store than as a fragrance for an actual human being.

Despite that, however, I not only own a bottle but have already made a significant dent into it - despite only wearing it to bed.

It's just so cheerful, it somehow makes me smile every time. It's exactly what it says on the tin, no more, no less - lemon sherbet like when you were a kid, with some creamy marshmallow vanilla in the background that it slowly morphs into.

Would I ever recommend it to someone? Probably not. Is it the most complicated, elaborate, or impressive thing I've ever smelled? Also no.

But it's fun, peppy, and nostalgic, and sometimes, that's all you need. "Sweet dreams" has never been so literal :)

On first sampling I was pretty sure I would not want a long term relationship with Mrs. Gloss. But needed to test 3 times to decide that the grapefruit note seems to be the problem. It's as if that fruit had gone bad before it was included. The scent gets definitely better after the first 10 minutes. That sharp, weirdly rotten opening gets softer and more interesting. But I probably won't finish the sample. There are so many scents, so little time!
Oddly, in the citrus category, I recently tried Love's Fresh Lemon after years of not remembering it existed. That was a cheap little winner. I'd prefer that over this, even though this is more odd and creative.

Mrs Gloss' Lemon Sherbet has been high on my test list for quite a while, because I always love a well-made gourmand lemon scent, and the note list of this one looked particularly enticing to me. On top of that, I've also been curious about exploring the 4160 Tuesdays house more, just because I like the name and the indie spirit of the brand, as well as the fact that their perfumes' names and notes list spark my interest more often than not when I come across them here on Fragrantica.

With such high expectations, it's no wonder that I'm slightly disappointed now that I've finally gotten my hands on a decant, even though I do like the scent and find it true to its name. The combination of tart citrus and sweet biscuits with a whiff of vanilla to tie it all together does smell delicious, but it has a few things going against it, in my book. Most of all, this is quite personal: however much I'm tempted to try every lemon gourmand on the planet, I should do better to remember that it's very unlikely that any of them will ever top the perfect example already in my wardrobe, Kerosene's Unknown Pleasures. I have to admit this one comes a lot closer to that than any other lemon gourmand I've tried, and it's a lot cheaper to boot, but it's just not quite the real thing to me - less exuberant, a lot less long-lived, and with a slightly synthetic edge to it in the opening (probably the musk note that I could do without in this composition - there are other ways to make a gourmand less straightforwardly edible and a little more sophisticated).

All this sounds rather negative, but I do really like this scent - in fact I know I'd be rushing to buy a full bottle if it wasn't for Unknown Pleasures. On its own this is wonderful, but the comparison makes it rather useless to me, unfortunately.

Lemon Sherbet is so wonderful on me. It's such a simple yet effective fragrance. It opens up, as people have said, just as it will smell for the majority of its lifespan... but its a little bit smoky at the start. After about three or four hours it dries down to a beautiful lemon cream crispy biscuit and that puts the biggest smile on my face. I only just got this two days ago and its all I want to wear. Now one of my favourite gourmands.

lillybethholmes

I love this! I bought one with a little extra grapefruit so was expecting it to be sharper, but after the initial spray is just a fluffy lemon whip delight. There is a touch of 'funk' in there, but not overbearingly so. This is very much the base of their #MrsGlossMadeMeDoIt but without the rose. An actual dessert on my wrist that I want to eat... lemon posset or mousse-like, or a French tarte au citron. 4160 (from my limited experience so far) do confectionary-worthy gourmands SO well.

KowltheOwl

Nicely done. Very similar to Solstice Scents Chiffon as a cheaper, but also beautiful, alternative.

I normally love lemon/vanilla scents but I'm on the fence about this one. I'm not sure if it's the musk or grapefruit but something is coming across as "harsh". I definitely am getting the citrus fruits and vanilla, but something is off. It's unfortunate because this really sounded like it would make a great summer scent. I have a sample spray so I'll test it a few more times to be sure.

This was is a very linear scent all the notes are presented in the opening and they stay there. It’s very soft in its projection. It’s what I would use if I were having company and didn’t want to show off. Enjoyable but there other offerings of lemon and sugar out there.

Becw08

Gorgeous!
A non sweet lemon scent.
Woody and musky with a tart edge.
Lovely summer fragrance.

My God this scent is just so delectable! It is definitely gourmand but it's not sickly sweet or girly. Vanilla and lemon were made for each other. Lemon curd on vanilla muffins. I'm talking the American muffins but not quite as sweet.
The citrus notes have never smelt so good. There is still some freshness and the vanilla is restrained. This is quite a linear scent although I think the sweetness eases off a bit and you are much more aware of the bergamot and orange. The musk is present but it is very low key.
It smells so natural and not synthetic like many gourmands can. It's one classy gourmand.
I would say unisex but fellas you would have to enjoy gourmands.
I get good longevity and sillage in this warm environment.

No way in heck could a male ever wear this it’s sickeningly sweet and cloying. Smells like a $10 perfume from cvs
