Too many scammed properties on their site

We have had our holiday rental property fraudulently copied and posted on booking.com 2 times. Despite 10 lengthy phone calls to them, they did not remove the scam property for nearly 2 weeks in which time it was taking bookings and money. Their security is not good enough to protect you. The fake property was even awarded an exceptional rating by booking. com despite not even existing. Avoid them.

Refusal of Compensation

Got a confirmation for a hotel in Venice which I booked early. 2 months later booking.com cancelled my reservation for no reason. Meanwhile prices went up 50 to 65%. Customer support is useless, they denied to compensate me for the price-increase, even though I have genius 3-level. Cannot talk to the 'supervisor' who put my request down. In addition, I found out that it is cheaper to book straight with many hotels, even though booking.com 'guarantees' the lowest price. What started as a customer-friendly website became a profit-only oriented nightmare. Never again!

I’d give zero but isn’t allowed

I’d give zero but isn’t allowed.

Beyond the very worst customer service. Regardless what happens they don’t help you with absolutely anything, perfect site for the scammers as booking.com doesn’t verify anything and simply tells to screw yourselves and the money that you just paid.

I called today about a property on their system that actually exists.

I also had an issue before about a hotel that advertised as “accessible for whee chair, etc” yet at the venue it was just stairs. What booking did? Big fat zero, nothing at all.

Don’t waste time calling them as you’ll just get angrier

The worst travel agency I’ve ever come…

The worst travel agency I’ve ever come across.
The customer service they provide is shocking and the protection for hosts is nonexistent.

We had guests who conducted illegal activity in our property and were removed. They went on to damage our property. We put a damage request it and it was DECLINED. We have lost £250 because booking.com haven’t done their job properly.

They were allowed to put on a bad review giving us the lowest for everything, obviously. And put in an allegation against us!! We are a new property and this is so detrimental to us getting bookings.

I will never be personally using booking.com again!

ROOM NOT AVAILABLE ON ARRIVAL - NO REFUND 3 MONTHS

I booked 3 nights at a hostel in March, on arrival, the hostel had overbooked so did not have a room available + it did not look like the photos. I then had to last minute book a hotel as nothing was available and booking.com have been hanging up the phone/ignoring messages and still have done nothing to resolve the matter. Awful customer service!

For potential hosts

For potential hosts, I would avoid booking.com. They have a great brand and good visibility, but their back-end and support systems are next to useless. Spent about 8 hours cumulatively on the line with their call centre, got nothing done. Finally ended up just taking my property off their site.

"Booking.nothing"

I booked a car rental to get to the airport in Minneapolis, had a booking number, but didn't get a confirmation email.
When I called to confirm the rental I was told that no one was available to help me due to "updating their program", but I had "won" a free $100 Walmart gift card. When I told him I wasn't interested but needed to talk with someone about my reservation, he told me to stop talking (two times) and then to "Shut the F___ up!"
So no car rental and no way to get to the airport, plus extreme rudeness!
And then Booking.com sent me an email asking how they did and how my rental went. I did give them a review but now there is no way to contact them since I don't have a confirmation number.

DO NOT USE THIS SITE!!!!

DO NOT USE THIS SITE!!!!! PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE AND NEVER USE THIS HORRIBLE SERVICE I made a booking error, the hotel that I made it with cancelled the reservation right away and never charged me. Booking.com charged me $107 that they refuse to refund without getting written confirmation from the hotel. I've had over 5 different calls with booking.com and even conferenced in the hotel and they still refuse to refund me AND I NEVER STAYED AT THE HOTEL. This is a HORRIBLE client experience at best, and FRADULENT AT WORSE. I WILL NEVER USE BOOKING.COM EVER AGAIN AND WILL STEER EVERYONE I CAN FROM THIS HORRIBLE SERVICE, please do not make the same mistake I did, use Expedia or something else. This is a horrible and fraudulent company.

STAY AWAY

We booked our Europe stay through booking.com and, not only was the apartment not to our standard, but when we tried to cancel it got exponentially worse. We will NEVER use this site again.

We CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH
STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE

The customer service team acts stupid, simply repeat what you say, pretend that they are doing something, but, in reality aren’t doing anything at all. We know this because the owner of the property kept contacting us asking when we were going to cancel so they could relet the apartment. Booking.com managed to screw us and the owner of the property.

I used booking.com to hire a car for…

I used booking.com to hire a car for the first time. They took prepayment which is unusual for car hire. The company they used Bargain cars forgot to send me the lockbox details to pick up the car after hours. I had to hire another car from an alternative company last minute. Booking.com has refused to refund the money after over a week of jumping hoops and have not paid it to the car hire place. Dealing with customer service has been infuriating. I have email multiple times, messaged through the app, called the head office in the UK twice and had a live chat. I have not received any confirmation that they will deal with this or refund me the prepaid money. Dismal dismal unprofessional thieving company.

Cheaper prices everywhere else and non existing customer support

I found cheaper prices everywhere else, even if I am a Level 3 Genius (by the way, no advantages). There is no way to speak with someone. Several times they charge you before you arrive at the hotel, even if they claim no prepayment. I am certainly starting to look somewhere else, as Booking.com has become a non user friendly website. What do they think? That all questions are related to a booking already made and that we have a special dictionary to formulate the right question to their useless virtual assistant? No thanks

DO NOT USE BOOKING.COM

I booked a year ago through Booking.com. On arrival at our accommodation, we found that we had been scammed by Booking.com and the accommodation didn’t exist. We were, apparently, the 5th people to have fallen for scam accommodation through Booking.com that week. We were 4 women left on our own in Scotland at midnight and absolutely no help from them at all. They made promises they certainly didn’t keep and we ended up having to find alternative accommodation by ourselves at a huge extra cost. My repeated emails to them to claim back extra expenses using the email address they had been corresponding with me previous to our trip, have been returned labelled as “untrusted and unknown sender”!! I have heard so many horror stories similar to ours since returning from our nightmare trip. PLEASE do not use Booking.com if you want to guarantee you’ll actually have any accommodation to stay in at your destination.

Absolutely horrible for flight booking

I have been using booking for many years to book hotels. It ran smoothly, I had no issues. However, last December I decided to book a flight via booking.com because the airline's website was faulty and didn't accept my card. Apparently, that was not a good idea. I have experienced several problems with my booking: first, with the check-in, and now with a cancellation or rebooking request for a return flight. I specifically booked a fully flexible fare (which was much more expensive) to be able to rebook or cancel if needed. The airline confirmed that my ticket was refundable and amendable but it had to be done via booking.com. Yet, booking.com insists my ticket is non-refundable and non-changeable. They keep contradicting themselves constantly, as one employee advises rebooking then the next one insists it cannot be rebooked. I truly dislike the lazy customer service and total non-transparency. I would warn people not to book flights via this service.

I work at a property

I work at a property, we have had people arrive recently on several occasions wanting to check in. None of our apartments are on booking.com. It’s a scam, people are being ripped off and they just don’t care. Impossible to contact them, eventually found a way of sending a message, but they reply with we need your booking ref etc!!! I’m reporting fraud, these people could not give a dam, evil company with no morals whatsoever. Just to add, when you eventually get through to someone on the other side of the world, it’s impossible to communicate, and all they want is a booking ref, although you are trying to tell them about a scam, and you haven’t got a booking ref number, it’s just impossible.

They charged me but didn't pass the money on to the hotel!

Was charged by booking.com for a hotel room I reserved and upon arriving at Marriott, they tell me booking.com never paid them. I HAD TO PAY TWICE FOR A ROOM!! Spent hours on the phone with a rude Indian gentleman that also argued with front desk at Marriott. Even the customer service warned me about using this company. They kept my $210 and provided no service. This company is not legitimate!!

They just suck

They just suck
I was traveling to a business meeting in Memphis. I reserved my hotel room a FULL month in advance. They called me hours before I was due at the hotel, and said they had to cancel the reservation due to " unforseen circumstances" (they offered me me too cheap a rate, certain)
What an unscrupulous business.... Horrible
Never again
This is the second time they got me

Worst travel company, Late price increase, take your payment and run, nothing booked

This is simply hands down the worst travel booking company I have ever used. They drag you right to end of booking and then tell you price has suddenly gone up by £150. Even when accept this increased price they then say the reservation has failed. But they’ve processed the payment and taken thousands. And I can’t go and book elsewhere because my credit limit is maxed. So bad! How are they allowed to get away with this!?! I wish the celebrities they pay to do their adverts would do a bit of research on average reviews, 1 out of 5 from over 50,000 customers is just so incredibly poor.

Fraud in plain sight with money taken and no refund

Booked a hotel through their platform paid in full - just to find by the hotel there is no room available!! Booking.com support team acknowledged the fault of their third party vendor - this was Nov 2023! despite several emails and reminders - no refund as yet - all they come back "matter under review will respond back" which they never do - complete FRAUD

Used them regularly for years

Used them regularly for years, maybe 5 or 6 times a year. We like being able to check availability, make a booking, usually without making a payment with the facility to change dates if circumstances or dates need to be changed.
