Better longevity than MB Cologne and fuller than Dior Homme. I did a side by side of this with Vibrant Leather Summer and this one seems to be somehow more nuanced - the ginger seems to play a larger role to my nose (whereas VLS is balls to the wall citrus.) - Still they are pretty darn similar to one another.

It is much stronger than either Dior or MB.

Does anyone want to sell me their bottle of this stuff (blue stem)? It’s a 10/10 and impossible to find. PM me.

diego.lesgart

I read very interesting comments. At first I found Dior Homme Cologne very synthetics and plastics... as Mercedes Benz Cologne... For me the "sounds" of the summer are in the bottle of Eau de Rochas femme, Allure Cologne Sport and Scale a Para Ti by Dior... In this case, I mean Vibrant Leather Colonge open as a so sweet citrical fragrance... so sweet at my nose ... but it calms down and becomes into a fresh fragance (not plastics) in the same vein of Allure Cologne Sport. It s cozy for summer any way.

There’s a lot of ginger in here, but it’s honestly very refreshing. Sort of like a cold ginger ale. My wardrobe is begging for fresh citrus-based fragrances, so this seems like the perfect fit. If you can find it for cheap, even better. Paid £4 for 100ml. For the quality of what I got, I feel like I just committed daylight robbery.

Dottorissimo

Uplifting like an oxygen mask just under the mountain summit. Similar to Dior Homme Cologne, but more gingery. Performance wise a little bit better than Dior. Similar to Vibrant leather Summer, but this has more powerfull citruses.

dabatch

the funny thing is, this stuff lasts, atleast on me, way longer than the dior homme cologne.

Nice summer fragrance, fresh citrusy, little spicy and woody, all well blend. Its like you mix 'Fanta with ginger beer', it has that orangey/citrusy mixed with spicy woody ginger, love it. Has definitely similarities with Dior Cologne, but this one has a better longetivity. Cheap, no brainer and really decent quality scent.

The Sale in on at Zara – so this was high on my shopping list among two others I really wanted to try – I missed in the summer the “Vibrant Leather Summer” which was already sold out by the time I was looking for it – and I noticed on this site that the Cologne version is very similar.
It’s really nice – one spray on my wrist and it projects nicely – very similar to Dior Homme Cologne and Mercedes Benz Cologne – really something to wear in the spring or summer – not disappointed – for €10,99/100ML – it’s a no brainer

update : I mixed it with Zara Pamplemousse Vetiver - and the result is magical - this way it smells like D&G Light Blue Forever which I absolutely love and my wife apparently as well

Umairaman

This opens up with a fresh blast of lemon and ginger.as it dries down becomes clean musky and floral.

Extremely refreshing and smells pretty much like a lemonade.great high heat fragrance.average performance (4-6 hours)

If you get this instead of dior homme cologne or other alternatives , you won't be missing out on much.

Great deal if u ask me. 9/10

I love this. Not my favorite ever or anything, but a non-offensive summer scent that’s so cheap. Ginger to me is very strong here. It is very very close to dior.

NeoRaider

Got this one recently, together with VL Boise. And i had original VL, VL Oud, VL Eclat de Bergamote and VL Intense. By FAR this one is my favorite together with VL Eclat de Bergamote! Both are simply amazing but i think that this one is slightly better than Eclat de Bergamote for me. The opening... It's probably one of the best i ever smelled. The ginger and mandarin are so, so beautiful and the combination is perfect. It's everything that i wanted and more, i just regret not getting 2nd back up bottle of this.

Fahmi_From_Malaysia

Ginger all the way!

Rsportz

Absolutely love this for the summer. I have Dior and it is nearly an exact copy. In fact for the price it honestly doesn't make sense to have the Dior. Neither have great longevity and for the price I can overspray the Zara.

Rafrosa

Good Dior Homme Cologne inspired fragrance. The fragrance is nice however the way the ginger note accents the citrus sometimes makes me think of Lemon Pledge. In terms of cheap DHC alternatives, Cremo makes a fragrance called “Iced Citron and Driftwood”. This version doesn’t include the ginger note and the result is a smoother, more mouthwatering iced lemonade scent - also it only cost $20 for a 100ml.

JorgeZ

Lovely alternative to Dior Homme Cologne, much more affordable too.

Vibrant Leather Cologne = Vibrant Leather Summer

Here's my review of VLS:
Exact copy of Dior Homme Cologne. At least to my nose. Near impossible to tell the difference, though I am sure there is some difference. (edit: VLC and VLS are sharper than DHC)
If you are into juicy sweet citrus, you owe yourself a bottle.

I used to absolutely love this. I bought a brand new bottle from a Zara store less than 6 months ago and it would perform for 4-6 hours at least. Now I feel like something happened to the bottle, because it smells like cheap floral candy and only lasts about 10 minutes before it completely dissipates into nothing. I stored it together with all my other fragrances and they are all fine. Given the retail price where I live was around $50 I am rather disappointed by the quality.

Have any of you guys wished that there was a stronger version of your favourite cologne? Well I already know the answer to that because I’ve been a part of this community for so long. We all wish there could be stronger versions of our favourite weaker scents. Anyway, Christian Dior Homme 2013 is probably in my personal 5 top five favourite summer scents of all time. It’s simple, citrusy, and is a compliment getter, but I’ve always wondered what a more powerful version of that would be like. After getting this bottle and seeing the similarities with CDH 2013 I felt like my wish was granted.

There’s a problem though, this stuff is so goddamn strong that it becomes cloying, and not only that but this stuff gives the illusion it’s the same but it’s not. This stuff goes more in the direction of bergamot peel, not the extract. It’s more bitter, not sour, just not soft or sweet. I think the ginger may have a lot to do with that, where Dior has grapefruit blossom in that mid. Diors version of this stuff is a subtle creeper and the musk in that works so well, where this one is slapping people in the face and saying “Hi I’m here”. On my skin this stuff is nuclear. I put 6 squirts on my body around 10:30am and it’s 9pm and I can still smell it, barely but it’s there. This is the one rare time where a Zara bottle that has the name cologne outperforms their Eau de parfumes. I’m not saying for nobody to buy this stuff, on the contrary I would encourage a person who’s new and getting into fragrance collecting to grab this stuff if they can find it. It’s under $50 bucks and you’re getting a great entry level dupe of Christian Dior Homme 2013 which is $130 bucks up here in Canada. Here’s the thing though, after smelling this and comparing it to what it’s trying to copy they clearly aren’t the exact same. It makes me realize what all of the hardcore fragheads are talking about when they say they don’t like dupes and encourage others to buy the real stuff. Diors version is much better blended and the quality just seems clean and more refined. Still though, for what this bottle is trying to do and offering you can’t go wrong.

His performance is very good for the price. It's a very good alternative for summer. At first, it's a dominant bergamot and a cedar from the rest. Ginger doesn't feel much. Dior Homme has the same smell as Cologne.

daveugber

Doesn't last a long time, but I LOVE THIS FRAGRANCE!!! I have Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne, but I think I like the lightness of Zara Vibrant Leather Cologne. Chanel AHS Cologne is a beautiful fragrance, but Zara VLC is also beautiful. I totally get the Dior Homme Sport vibe as well.

Sektor_nl

Yes it's very lemony fresh and yes, it's similar to Dior Homme Cologne, but to my nose it's just too sharp, too shallow and a bit too cheap smelling.

Bought it with pretty high expectations, but like some others also stated: maybe it's best as an air refresher for your toilet, bathroom, shoes et cetera. I'm sure that's exactly where mine will end up. Not impressed.

Houstun

Perfect, long lasting gym, pool, beach scent for a decent price, especially when it is on sale.

Q_Dhini

Ordered the Cologne and the Summer version from Zara and its still 100% the same juice. And to me also complete Dior Homme Cologne clone. But its nice and for the price pretty good.

jjames799

Gonna compare this to the Vibrant Leather Summer which many have in the same ballpark as this one - some say it's just a different bottle. Well guess what it's completely different.

This is the new formulation for this one - the 2020 edition that is made in Coruna.

First of all let me say this is the not the citrus bomb of VLS as this version has the ginger taking centre stage after the opening citrus blast. According to the notes the citrus is Mandarin but I would say it is more of a lemon/bergamot note and certainly not the same Mandarin used in VLS.

The ginger is quite sweet here and it's blended in with a load of spice and a touch of woodyness. These are the most prominent notes with the citrus more of a basenote to hold the whole thing together.

So to sum up Zara have dialled down the citrus and amped up everything else (especially the ginger) so the fragrance has a lot more depth than VLS. However if you are expecting a refreshing citrus bomb you may be pretty disappointed.

For me the ginger is just too prominent and I will stick with Vibrant Leather Summer for my citrus summer fix. Projection isn't great tbh and I only get about 4 hours total

Candyandy

I see it on the Zara online store again (June 2020), even though Vibrant Leather Summer (same juice, different bottle) is also available.

Bentoix

Smell is fresh and invigorating, but it has longevity of EDT not EDP, even though it projects quite well in first hour. If you can accept that it's worth it.

valenriquez09

zara makes a huge sale at the beginning of every year. so i got VLC at 50% off. i wore it for a couple of days in january and i thought it smelled clean,a sharp lemon.projection ok, sillage ok, longevity ok. but now that the hot days are here i regret not buying more bottles. This is a phenomenal fragrance!!!. the smell has changed a bit, now this is a very fresh cut lemon. it does not smell so synthetic,(at least to my nose), it is a lemony journey with a little cedar all the longevity of the fragrance, and now it does project, at least 8 ft, but it does it in a soft way , it is not annoying. i love this a lot, people tell me i smell clean others tell me i smeel like a lemon sorbet LOL

alvinzm

Went away after 15 minutes. Not even worth the $34 they're asking in my country.

It smells smooth and really fresh, but with the bad performance, I think it's not going to be worth the price.

njcooper5

It's just too lemony for me. At first I loved it; now it's just a like for me. I kind of regret buying it.. but at least it was low cost.

Leonell

This smells like bathroom freshener or even a car freshener. I regret buying this stuff.

wodzocelot

starts like DHCologne, finishes like DHSport. and for that price???? go and grab it!

gonomon

Really good fragrance if you did not smelled lemon cologne before (which is very popular in Turkey). If you smelled lemon cologne before, this scent might be boring to you since its opening is like a very expensive lemon cologne. First 30 mins fragrance is a lemon blast and has traces of ginger. After 30-60 mins, ginger start to show itself and takes a seat next to dominant lemon. And basically fragrance goes a linear way after that. After 2 hours or so you might get hints of cedar wood too but that is not a big change scent wise.
Perfect for summer, in my opinion women who likes adventure (trekking for example) can wear this without any problem. Season is only summer in my opinion, longevity is nice and silage falls short after a hour or so but people will still smell it no problem. Also, people really like this one so even if you don't like it you can still buy it for compliments
TL;DR: Quality lemon cologne which gets compliments.

smellerboy

No experience with previous Zara fragrances.
This really performs well and smells great.
Sprayed around 8 sprays this morning because I thought it was weak, but it still projects after 8+ hours (long lasting) in air conditioning at the office!
Smells more expensive than I paid for it. :)
You get what the notes say.
To me: Mega Fresh Citrus with a DHS Ginger.
To my nose better, fresher and more natural smeling than MBC.

long.bi

This one does not resemble much of Dior Homme Cologne only 20% of it. However, I have to say this one is pretty excellent in its way, especially for the price. It gives a vibe of maturity and charming, suited for 24 or more ages. While most Zara perfumes are so disappointed because of how poor of their clones and cheapy smell, this one doesn't.

And yes I'm so lucky for this cheap one to works great on my skin. I got all day longevity with excellent sillage for the first 4 hours before became small body aura for the rest of a day. This performance is considered monstrous for the price.

4.5 / 5 for me.

titanium-soul

Exactly the same as lacoste yellow. Very refreshing!

APULIAN

first impressions:

i tried vibrant leather cologne few days ago in a zara store, and my impressions are very positive. fantastic vibe of squeezed iced lemon, very zesty and refreshing. i totally agree with the youtuber Ifishares and i have to say this is the best zara i tried so far. i have 9.0, tried the tobacco collection, tried all the vibrant leather line and few others. v.l. cologne is the best, at least for me. i didnt purchased it because my summer range is ok for this year, but if i'll meet again this fragrance i think i will not resist to buy. i cant talk about performance, on paper lasted all day and more.

my vote so far: 8,5

Reviews on here have become basically worthless.

This doesn't smell like Dior Homme Cologne, unless your DHC has been left in the sun for months and gone off.

I own around 40 fragrances from Zara, so I'm in no way biased against them and I enjoy Vibrant Leather despite the short longevity (you get what you pay for) but this cologne version is a scrubber and just a harsh mess.

albkelly99

lol choose your bottle... blue hole, paris to new york or this, all exact same juice.

Jayed

I remember vaguely back in 2007 ish buying a bottle of Dior Homme Cologne and back then I was 22 and had no idea about life in general let alone fragrances. However, I always remember Dior Homme Cologne making such an impact on me that I never forgot the scent. This leads me onto my opinion of Vibrant Leather Cologne... Does it smell like Dior Homme Cologne - Yes. Does it last as long as Dior Homme Cologne - No. Is it worth the £19.95 rrp - Yes (best £19 quid ive ever spent). Finally would I consider using this over my current Summer frags such as Neroli Portofino / Neroli Canvas / Versace Eros / GIT / Aqva Amara - Yes I actually feel this fragrance is perfect for summer and really competes.

ivv611

is 2018 parfume ''FROM PARIS TO NEW YORK'' they just change name.

stickaforkinit

tried VLC, Rich leather, VL parfum, and sublime ? all together on my wrists/ hands today, VLC overpowered the others at arms length, easily the strongest projection and longevity of the 4 tested. RL was most interesting. undecided about VLC but its a performer for me.

prince64

First thing first, I'd like to express my real impression of this brand new Zara's release. The opening is strongly citrus and closely akin to both Zara Blue Hole and Zara From Paris To New York, as many reviewers stated, yet they take separate ways as soon as the heart starts beating and the dry down comes. Definitely, BH and FPTNY have a clear heart floral note, bright jasmine that turns to an earthy accord akin to patchouli, it reminds me of CD Homme Sport 2008 to be exact, instead, VL Cologne is spicier, the ginger is hot and chilly in the heart, and turns into a neat musk, this one evoking me of CD Homme Cologne 2018. Since I own both Zara's and CD's fellows, I had an opportunity to study all of them side by side on my skin, they all smell quite apart as both CD Homme Sport and Cologne do. Oftentimes, people are too hasty, they quit and conclude on the first impression, but scents are alive and take their time to develop and reveal their heart and base.

Back to VL Cologne, the opening is a blast of strong citrus fruits right in your face, and once the intoxicating fresh lemon juice soothes down, a sweeter and smooth mandarin orange stands, I definitely get that strongly in the opening alongside the lemon, together with a bitter note of grapefruit, maybe not from the juice or peel but from the blossom or leaves, there is some greenish herbal and leafy accord in there. The opening is so fresh, so manly. Love its bitterness when the lemon finally sits. I absolutely love it. Great refreshing and bright zesty fragrance in the style of Dior Homme Cologne and Allure Homme Cologne.

In the heart, both sparkling ginger and a kind of soft lemon-like greenish herbal are very present up close but from arm's length ginger really dominates. It is spicy, sharp, bracing yet light, and pairs well with citrus notes. This heart aroma lasts quite a few hours before unhiding the backbone notes.

The drydown has woody, spicy and citrusy nuances, the zestiness lingers in the base with the musk and a nice ginger kick. Despite the dominance of the musky accord, I notice a sense of vetiver, rather creamier, lemony, and greener than earthy or rooty, which reminds me of Cacharel pour Homme, the vetiver vibe and trail is similar.

I am really glad to have this one in my collection, you can't go wrong with it. Performances are awesome for this kind of EDC. The bottle is also very nice, heavy and has a blue straw. It is fresh yet elegant, positive, uplifting, bright, sparkling. For more or less any event when you just want to smell nice and clean. You'll get compliments with this one, seriously. I can imagine this fragrance would perform fantastically well on hot and sticky summer days and evenings out.

amine23894

Very similar to Dior Homme Cologne !

burstup

This is a very good summer cologne for games and fun. I love how the ginger note mixes with the bergamot. A little bit of wood stays after a few hours, but I don't really a leather note, so it's different from Vibrant Leather EDP and Vibrant Leather Oud.

EPIPHONE99

Fragrantica says there is bergamot, that's wrong. To my nose it opens with an efervescent punch of mandarin and ginger that lasts for about an hour, then it dries down to woody notes with a clean/soapy hint. It has nothing in common with aventus or vibrant leather or dior cologne. I have seen resent reviews on aventus cologne, and i think ZVLC might be a clone of it, or at least it has a lot of notes in common. ZVLC has a projection of about 1 hour on my skin and a longevity of 4 hours. Very nice fragrance for the price, it deserves a try! I would give it an overall rate of 7.5

oswjim

too volatile even for a cologne ... on my skin lasted no more than 30min, exactly the same notes as FPTNY only switching the lemon for bergamot -- for me is a pass since already own the aforementioned and Blue Hole (which is the same aroma in EDT concentration)

danieln1971

It has nothing to do with the original Vibrant Leather. This is From Paris to New York and Blue Hole in a different bottle.
Nevertheless a good summer fragrance, with a great longevity.

Schuecha

I think they are going to copy Aventus Cologne even if it is not on the market right now - should I risk a blind buy ;)

Onlineturk

i think it smells very similar to loccitane cedrat. High quality lemon cologne.
