I do not remember how I found out about Alexandria 2. All I remember is that I really wanted to try it and love it. I guess it all went wrong at the start, since I always get so hyped up when I really want to try something and expectations just went through the roof.

Initially thought of it as just some sweet mega peppery rose. And man, it broke my heart for a month or so.

Maybe I would’ve never came to understand it if it wasn’t for the chance I had to try different kinds of Ouds, such as Russian Adam’s creations from Areej le Dore. But once the dots have been connected, pieces started fit into place and I could finally understand it…DAMN. 100ml ordered straight away.

Fresh spicy blast straight from the start, as we have a complex combo of notes which could be hard to tell which is which initially. But let me break it down for you.

Strong Green Apple punch, wrapped around with airy Lavender that is spiced up by Cinnamon and woody nuances of Rosewood.

To mention that the apple - cinnamon combo does not go in a gourmand, spiced apple pie, kind of a direction. It rather keeps it all well blended, but separated.

The Rose note can be felt during the dry down, however it’s not the main player and will not try to take over. A more proeminent feeling will come from the Cedar wood, which will offer a slight sharpness without being too much.

Getting to the base, I have to mention that its presence will be felt all throughout this fragrance’s life on your skin.

And here things are truly interesting, as the Oud is not skanky or medicinal in any way. No. It’s a sweet type of Oud. Which can trick you like it tricked me.

Take that Oud and add to it the creamiest Sandalwood you’ve ever smelled so far, sweeten it up with Vanilla, warm it up with Amber & touches of Musk, et Voila!

I kept using and abusing this fragrance for the past month for at least 2-3 days every week. It is that good!

It needed time to be understood and liked, but totally worth my patience. And maybe yours too.

Oudy/darker version of Creed's Original Santal. By the way, the scent profile and overall performance are out of this world

This would smell so much better without the oud. It's just too heavy.

Entry number 7 on my Xerjoff journey; Alexandria II. I saw this one mentioned multiple times when best the best Xerjoff fragrances were being discussed. Upon reading the notes, the ones that stood out to me were the cinnamon and apple. This instantly reminded me of fragrances like 1 Million Prive and Boss Bottled Intense, which are some of my absolute favorites. Obviously this was one I absolutely had to try for myself. Let's discuss;

Scent:
Opening is woody, warm, and aromatic. The primary notes I get are Palisander rosewood, lavender, cinnamon, and amber. The strongest of the notes are the Palisander rosewood and the lavender. The rosewood note is sturdy and masculine; like the smell of expensive wooden furniture. The lavender is aromatic and floral, much like your standard lavender note although noticeably more natural and high-quality. This is followed by the cinnamon and amber. The cinnamon lends a warm spiciness to help offset the florals of the lavender, while the amber adds to the warmth in its typical, resinous way. Right after spraying on I did get hints of the rose and lily-of-the-valley, but they were quickly lost in the more powerful notes. I also get quick puffs of the apple, but not enough to really appreciate it. Dry down is woody, warm, and sweet. The primary notes I get are oud, vanilla, amber, and lavender. The strongest of the notes are the oud and vanilla. The oud note has overtaken the rosewood as the primary wood note and delivers a strong woodiness with the hallmark funkiness that oud has. The funk of this oud is more bitter and earthy, rather than "barnyard" as some authentic ouds can be. The vanilla note is dark and sweet similar to natural vanilla bean. This is followed by the amber and lavender. The amber carries the same warm and resinous sweetness from the opening as a foundation while the lavender retains its soft, floral aromatics in the background. There is also some noticeable sandalwood in the dry down to help boost the woodiness and provide some creaminess to the sweetness of the vanilla and amber.

Performance:
Initial projection is nuclear and easily fills a room. Sillage matches that intensity with an unmistakeable scent trail. At the 4 hour mark the projection was outside arms length and the scent trail was easily noticeable. At around 10 hours the projection was within arms length but there was still a noticeable scent trail. The scent lasted at least 12 hours before becoming a skin scent, making it certified eternal.

When to wear:
This is a fall/winter fragrance most suitable for evening wear. The oud in the dry down is too challenging to be appropriate for office wear. You could opt to wear this for a date night as the oud isn't super funky, but it wouldn't be my first grab. I consider this more of a casual-wearing fragrance.

Blind buy:
This is not a safe blind buy for most people. The oud is more challenging than the typical designer oud offering and made cause some to turn their nose up. However, if you like that scent profile and enjoy it mixed with sweet and warm notes this could be for you.

Final verdict:
This was another Xerjoff I really enjoyed wearing. Well there hasn't been any I disliked, honestly; but I've enjoyed some more than others. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get the cinnamon apple accord that I was expecting (gotta love that 1 Million Prive DNA), but what I did get I was very happy with. Woods, oud, and warm sweetness. Not sickly sweet, not overly funky, just walking a fine line between the two. And of course the impressive performance scored points with me as well. Although I wouldn't recommend someone spend full retail for this (close to $600 as of writing this) I will definitely pick this up at a discounter when the budget permits.

Sgtnugget25

Smells very heavy in the musk and woodiness with a slight sweetness from the apple. This definitely isn’t a bad smell whatsoever but I don’t really understand the hype, it doesn’t seem all that special (although it is fairly unique) I definitely like this and am glad I received a sample but I’m not sure I’d justify the price of a full bottle. Don’t suggest blind buying unless you’re familiar with the notes or have smelt it before !

what the sigma

I read some good reviews of this fragrance but when I tried it I was so disappointed. In the opening I do get a lot of Apple but there’s something else in the background of this fragrance that smells kind of funky? I don’t know how to describe it but it just smelt funky and weird. Even after a couple hours I could still smell wafts of this weird scent. That made me feel a tiny bit sick. However the best part of this fragrance is definitely the performance this stuff is a monster literally lasted 3 days with 2 showers and was projecting for about 20 hours absolutely unreal. If it just smelt good I would give it a 10 but unfortunately it doesn’t also it’s extremely expensive but overall a 6/10.

To me, it smells exactly like the office of a doctor. A bit synthetic with an oud not really present. 6/10

The opening smells like some kind of alcohol and i really dont like it. I thought it would smell good when i looked at the notes but wow this was bad

Olenchyk

A very nice masculine, woody, dry amber perfume.
for a confident mature male, on me it sounds way too masculine for the first hour, even though it's not overpowering or screechy or too harsh
longevity is just mind-blowing, it's still on my skin after a shower and several hand washes with soap, hours after 1 spray

sadrain_q8

Try out ehsas khas from arabian oud, there is a lot of similarities between the notes and the smell profile i would dare say 60-70% close, and it costs almost 45-50 dollars at discounters , monstrous longevity that is always associated with arabian oud perfumes due to their use of high quality oils .

MysticalArugula

Earthy Woody Amber🌳 I think is a beautiful feminine woody fragrance, thanks to the rose wood and sandalwood. Very much for the regal and mature. The oud and cinnamon have a pungent undertone that hold on to the skin, but it allows for the sweet floral undertones to expand. This fragrance would be great for the elite ecclectics who are aren't afraid of being comfortable in the uncomfortable. It doesn't suit my skin, but I can appreciate it on a boss babe😉

used to like this but smelling this again, it has a faint plasticky/synthetic smell about it? doesn't smell like real oud, more of an oud accord. strong performance and all but this is seriously overrated & overhyped by all these tiktok kids. xerjoff has other better options, sample this before buying a fb. 5/10

bd78

Synthetic and overhyped. Doesn’t smell clean at all but rather dirty. The oud used isn’t of high quality too.

Таня_х

Let’s start from the beginning, the opening. Upon first spray, I was wowed, then I felt the dirty note some other reviewers mentioned, and I was very disconcerted - how can such a nice, “clean” smell have such dirty undertones?
By no means I found the fragrance unwearable because of that, nor is this particular note that strong, it’s just there and I couldn’t help but notice it.
And about the “clean” effect, I believe this one comes from the lavender. It is a note highly used and abused both in detergents and male designer fragrances, which brings me to my second point:
after the “dirty” part goes away, or settles at least, you’re left with a beautiful fragrance, very, very likable. Somehow familiar. A high-end designer fragrance. That’s the association. The barnyard-y smell at the beginning is the only weird, “niche” component, but the rest of the fragrance’s development is highly likable and slightly chemical, as I find most of Xerjoff’s fragrances to be, at least the ones I’ve tried.
By no means am I saying that this is a bad thing, it’s just simply something that, combined with the likability and the woody-lavender, makes the fragrance very “designer”-esque to my nose.
That, again, wouldn’t be a problem per se, if it wasn’t for another characteristic one should always keep in mind when deciding whether a fragrance is worth it or not, imho - the pricing.
To conclude my controversial review, I do like it, but would never buy a full bottle of it - firstly, because of the opening, secondly -the “designer”-esque feel, and last but not least, I associate it too much with designer, masculine fragrances in particular to be able to wear it myself, as a woman.
I wouldn’t mind it on a guy, but because of the aforementioned reasons, I wouldn’t think he has an amazing taste in perfumes. I’d just think he smells nice. Good enough? Not for this price if you ask me.

“Elegance is the only beauty that never fades.” Audrey Hepburn
What more suitable name for this fragrance?
Alexandria II is a hypnotic perfume, which stands out not because its excessiveness, but for its incredible balance and elegant soul, which elevate the wears it.
A green apple at the opening leads the way to the soft woods, to a floral part where the lily of the valley with its unmistakable aroma creates a wonderful atmosphere.
It seems, that this flower is poisonous, I see it as a particular imprint given to this creation.
Lavender gives cleany and soft touches.
What can I say, I like it a lot. It is not loud, it remains distinct but gives a great personality.
“The Virgin” by Klimt, where the colors recall this extraordinary fragrance.

SampleScentJourney

What a cozy, warming fragrance! The opening is beautiful, with woody-fruity-spicy facets from the rosewood, apple, and cinnamon. With rosewood and cinnamon in the top notes, the opening lasts longer than most perfumes. As it dries, the rose takes the stage, supported by cedar and oud. While this perfume has good longevity, I notice that the scent doesn't project far off of the skin, making it a more intimate scent. Overall, I think Alexandria II by Xerjoff is very lovely. It is definitely a more delicate woody fragrance than a lot of other fragrances in the family. I do wish the sandalwood note was more prominent though.

The Wolf

Opening and heart (which lasts over an hour) is PHENOMENAL. Lavender, powdered woods and musk. I know that some Xerjoff can lean in middle eastern territory which some are uncomfortable, but not here. Super easy to wear. The cedarwood and sandalwood stand out, but I don't get much oud.

At around the 1-1.5 hour mark it morphs into a rose and musk fragrance. Really nice although I prefer the first 1-2 hours more than the final 3-8 hours. Overall a solid fragrance.

Finally got to wear this one, it smelled basically exactly like I expected based on the note profiled, it gave me the overall impression of velvet, with the opening being by far my favorite part of this perfume. I love green apple, and here with the rosewood smells quite beautiful to my nose. However, the fragrance quickly fell apart for me 2 hours in, when the same synthetic amber molecule pervade the dry down, similar to the way Initio and PDM do their amberwoods. Which was pretty annoying, because I really wanted this to be spectacular, but unfortunately smells too synthetically sweet to be as stunning as I feel it could be. The apple pie dry down with copious amounts of cinnamon lasts forever on clothes.

I can smell this at Ultra Miami everywhere …

sonny35

The views on this seems to vary massively. Either our noses pick out something completely different, there may be massive batch variations or some people are smelling fakes. I hardly detect any oud and not much rose which are two notes I'm very sensitive to, be it natural or synthetic. What I do get is something extremely pleasing, clean, powdery and smooth. Easily an every day wear in all situations apart from extreme heat. It reminds me of CH 212 sexy man. This is a nice one to wear with a suit and tie, clean and professional. Also could be worn casually one spray to the chest under a t shirt and done. Gentle whiffs all day long, yet I didn't get the same performance some people reported unfortunately. For me this did seem to last a long time. Moderate, consistent, gentle and smooth wafts but not what I would consider beast mode.

Cashicals

It's ok, not necessarily a bad smell but it reminds me of a freshly cleaned bathroom.

Olavi

manly, sexy, woody and oud smell, will get a bigger bottle!

Just got this for aprox. 35% off at Notino. And what a steal. I ordered a 2ml sample of this earlier, and this is one of the best fragrances I've smelled. Very strong projector as well, longevity is about 18h on my skin.
Sprayed once on my wrist, with those small sample bottles, and I kept getting whiffs of it, despite also washing my hands a lot as a hairdresser. I could not smell Luna Rossa Black as much, with 6 sprays even, as I could with this.
Smells gorgeous, oud here is a really nice touch.

It smells oddly sticky, a mild barnyard-y kind of smell. I am not into barnyard ouds. My nose translates it to cow manure. Not pleasant at the top. A few minutes after application, I smell a little pee. Hours later, you can smell nice oud. But it’s not worth it.

Gaharu Cendanapula

Armani Code on steroids with zlutonium price tag. 24 hours performance.

caboramer

The opening is a bit harsh, with an alcohol type Scent, which only lasts a few minutes, but after that it dries down into a long lasting and strong projecting Scent of Pure Class, the apple, Cinamon and woody scents are Pure freshness and Elegance blended perfectly. Certainly a Special occasion perfume. Only use 3-4 Sprays so as to avoid intoxicating people close by. Can be used as a Signature scent for those upper class folks or those used to spending leisure time in country clubs and upper class surroundings and luncheons. Not for Lumberjack type people used to wearing AXe or Old Spice type simple scents. They will hate this.

0xrafae

Alexandria II opens with a harsh note, reminding me of chocolate laced with alcohol - initially sweet and inviting, then abruptly bitter. Once this ends, Alexandria II starts to deliver. The discomfort gives way to a well-blended woody base, seconded by amber and vanilla which together create a kind of a dry vibe. On the top, you get amazing longevity and a scent that gets better as time passes.

HeliosEffect

Yeesh. Smells like a urinal cake to me. Not my cup of tea.

istvan.buda.779

On my skin this smells like Armani code but better quality ./ the green Apple note comes out strong on my skin..Orderd a full bottle. Also I could see this aas an all year around perfume because it smells fresh due to the apple note

Christian Cantelli

As soon as it is sprayed, it is incredible, very good and elegant; it is immediately familiar, even if unknown to me. I detect cinnamon, apple and many spices, and I get the impression that it is a complex and full gourmand, but not overpowering or bold. As it evolves, it acquires a certain sweetness, quantifiable as a 6 ½ or 7 out of 10, given by vanilla and other elements, to which are added a vaguely acidic lavender and an aquatic-mineral, almost metallic rose. The heart of the fragrance, I admit, did not excite me, but the complexity of the composition cannot leave one indifferent; on drying, its woody, musky side emerges, where even a faint, dark-toned oud peeps out. Vanilla, sandalwood, musk and oud create a pleasant and characterful base. To my taste, the opening is fantastic, the heart a little dull and the base interesting, complex, for a multifaceted unisex scent capable of accompanying you throughout the day on an olfactory journey with a Middle Eastern flavor. Good trail, projection although not monstrous, excellent durability, also suitable for enclosed spaces and high temperatures.

Dear god in heaven. This stuff is insane. Probably the ‘classiest’ and most potent fragrance I’ve ever tried. The only thing I’ll take points off for is the opening. On my skin it is pure skull-crushing alcohol for a couple minutes. Once that fades it becomes the most regal, classy, powdery-woody scent I’ve ever tried.

I’m a 35 year old man and I feel like a Queen when I wear this. It’s a Queen scent. Utterly royal, powerful and sophisticated. Leans feminine to me but feels more masculine if I’m dressed up real nice, if that makes any sense?

Awesome scent. Definitely can’t wear it all the time. It’s the scent I’m going to spray heavily if I ever attend a very rich persons’ wedding. I noticed it dries down phenomenally on clothing and lingers forever.

9/10 for me.

masonlikesscents

Absolutely amazing, one of those love at first sniff fragrances for me. This was my most expensive blind buy up until this point so I was worried, but this did not disappoint. On my skin this opens with sweetness and cinnamon and dries down to the most beautiful, spicy but clean, powdery and buttery Oud, amber, and vanilla. Nothing about the Oud here is fecal at all. Perfectly safe, but extremely expensive, first Oud fragrance. 100/10 could not possibly recommend any more. Buy this, or at least sample it.

Mortarelli

The best part about Alexandria II is the way it dries down on clothing. Spraying it on skin doesn't do it justice, and the initial opening isn't anything too special either. But if you spray this on a sweater, 1-3 days later you get the most beautiful combination of Vanilla, Oud, a bit of Amber and a bit of Cinnamon.

Mar$$3368

It smells fantastic at its dry down in my opinion i dont really fw the opening but after 20-30 minutes it actually starts to smell like a 10/10 fragrance

Eau de Cornichon

Saw it at a random shop and thought I should try it since it's so hyped, absolutely hated it at first. The opening is harsh and reminds me of a public toilet... inside of a barn. Far too much for me to handle.
The dry down is a completely different story though, it's pleasant, but I have a pretty hard time understanding this scent. It's much lighter and cleaner than I expected, and as many have said before it does smell a lot like lavender and talcum powder.
I'm mostly getting clean powdery floral musk, with an underlying herbal bitterness and a touch of rose. I don't get any oud, nor apple, nor cinnamon, nor the hype surrounding this thing. I wouldn't call it a particularly woody scent either.
For me there are scents that are classier, and a lot more interesting and characterful than this one, for a FAR better price. I'm actually a massive fan of this house so I'm pretty disappointed.

NikolayTonchev

I got a 5ml sample of this fragrance and I can say it is not a safe blind buy. I like it personally but it really is a very sophisticated fragrance and it is not mass appealing at all. Nevertheless an amazing cold weather fragrance for me. Projection is enormous, longevity is eternal. The drawback is the price, yes it is a nice fragrance but it is way overpriced.

HDM80

This is fantastic. I get a lot of Powder and Lavender creating an airy but dense, clean scent. That scent lays on top of a very spicy cinnamon, woody base. There is vanilla that brings a soothing essence. The rose and apple are well blended in the background, not really smelling distinct on me rather bringing a bit of brightness to the fragrance. The dry down has a bit of a funky, not too jarring, but character adding Oud.

Overall, this is a clean, sometimes a bit funky, intriguing, sexy, gentleman scent. I would not wear this in a casual setting. This is borderline formal, but too daring for the office. Definitely for those nights when you want to be noticed and stand out in a bold way. Projects well for about 7 hours in cold weather. Great stuff!

Arsenal Till I Die

Not a scent I would ever want to smell like but it seems if you’re a fan then it’s a love but I hate this stuff and think xerjoff is easily the most overrated house on the planet!

Xloni

Amazing fragrance, priced a little higher than it should be. Lasts really long. Very standard Arabian scent, you can find a lot of fragrances in Kuwait or Dubai with the same scent (not clones) for much cheaper. Granted some won't last as long but a lot will still. I think its a good purchase for someone who has the money and a great introduction into Arabian (GCC) perfumery.

Kiwy

It reminds me a lot of lavender baby powder. First layer an intensity of 80% Powdered dry lavender after 30 to 45 min constant after applied. With a second base layer pushing on, the woody notes and a slight touch of roses are maintained. After 15 hours on my skin it smells like smoky vanilla. Mature fragrance, 65% masculine. I do not recommend blind buying.

Ferg1

Good fragrance, but i think it's overhyped for what it is. There is a sharpness in it that is disturbing and i don't like lavender. It is the lavender that gives this toilet cleaning product vibe. The opening is obnoxius, smells very bad in my opinion, very synthetic. the dry down is beautiful. For me, this is far from a masterpiece, it's just a good fragrance with good sides and bad sides.

Out of my little humble collection this is the one that doesn't get much attention, i don't wear it a lot. It's still a good one from Xerjoff's knowing that i don't like a lot of their fragrances but i'm not sure if i would repurcharse it once my bottle is empty, don't think it will happen.

EDIT : Alexandria III is a softer version of this one, better imo but not ground breaking either.

Qvboys

Honestly, it's definitely a good fragrance but it's not my favorite. As a gourmand fragrance lover, this fragrance smells like nail polish remover, but only when you first spray it on. After it dries down, it smells like a woody and slightly sweeter nail polish remover, but in the best way. I would definitely use this but only on special occasions. Smell is 8/10 for me.

Performance is honestly insane. I sprayed it on my neck 3 times on a Sunday, and smelled it on me at work all day the next day. From my experience, it lasts even longer then the beast of a fragrance Dior Elixir, but sometimes varies on situations since Dior Elixir is more spicy. Surprisingly, projection is just above average, but in a way that's good because this fragrance can definitely be headache inducing for people who aren't fragrance nuts. Performance is 11/10 for me.

Overall, I would definitely NOT recommend blind buying this. As a person who loves blind buying, this is one of those fragrances you should actually buy a sample of before buying.

The_Wac

A very well done scent, long lasting and great projecting. I can't help but feel like sandalwood is added sometimes to beef up a scent, without actually adding much to the combination. Here we have a sweet and soft woody floral that is super appealing and an uppercut of sandalwood that'll get you at 6 feet. I still like it a lot but I can't help but wonder what it would be like minus the one ingredient.

Overall 7.8/10
Projection (scents are quiet on me) 7/10
Longevity 6 hours ( some powdery vanilla still at 8)

A good sample but I don't think I'll get a bottle.

ToastY1

Personally like it a lot

zawwarahmad

top notes: florals? some mintiness from overpowering oud, almost old-lady like. Herbal notes
middle notes: powdery notes added and the minty oud becomes syrupy
base notes: the synthetic oud is hard to forget about here make it a big dislike for easily wearables

not an easy wearable. do test before you buy! strange scent to me, oud isn't blended very well. Performance is outstanding though.

6/10

dorin_98

I really like this one but i'm not completely crazy about it, it did awake some childhood memories that got me nostalgic every time i smelled it, i dunno if im the only one but this smells like good childhood memories.
Longevity is insane, lasts on skin +12h and for a few days on clothes, an absolute beast mode of a fragrance.
I really like the smell of it but i don't like it enough to spend 545€ on 100ml...

Scentyromy

One of the best out there for me ! I wish I had discovered it in 2012 on its release !
The ultimate elegance, class, charm, bewitchment, this is what I think I have when I wear it ! Some may disagree, but let's not forget that perfume is a matter of taste and feeling. I've evolved olfactoryy at the same time as this perfume, from easy wear oud to very animalic, mature and polarizing oud, but this one will always remain engraved in my memory. One of the few perfumes for which I have 2 bottles of 100 ML bacth from 2017 as a back up.

ShaunMichael

Wait wait wait. Yes I heard about this from a YouTuber…..and yes the opening of the fragrance for the first 15 minutes is….well…less than stellar. However I see it’s worth after that…..it is unique, long lasting, and masterful. I’ve never had a fragrance TRANSFORM like this before. 🤣 If after the dry down, you still don’t like it….i respect your opinion.

It blows my mind how many followers there are in this world.. some YouTuber says this is a top 5 and then people start calling it a masterpiece. This fragrance sucks and I feel bad for people that blind bought this thinking it smells like high quality wood.. this smells like chemicals, with lavender. One of the worst fragrances I’ve smelled in a long time. Whoever put this on their top 10 list, be weary of them, there’s probably an affiliate link in the description… source , LuckyScent sample. Thankfully it was free with my full bottle.

Cliffsides

I’m laughing reading the review below because it’s exactly what I came to write… I love Xerjoff scents but this smells like a urinal cake. Straight up. Unmistakeable, uncanny really. Luckily only bought 2ml. Always test first!

Mogwaii

I joined the hype train and blind bought a 100ml bottle.....what a huge mistake, smells EXACTLY like the toilet deodoriser used in Westfield shopping center toilets here in Australia, god damn it!, now I can walk around smelling like a dunny, lol, I even did a test with several friends and it was the first thing they said.

matchagpo

its so strong i had to put the hand i had 1 spray on into my pocket for half of my english class cause 4 people asked if i had cologne on

9/10 longevity
11/10 sillage
10/10 scent but would only wear for special occasions

AMBER and smells exactly like the notes and a old white guys mansion with like polished wooden furniture, don't buy the 3.4 ml for the original price, the 1.7 is wayyy more than enough its extremely strong and rich and like classic and idk old people + suits + rich + money

ShaunMichael

OK I truly do love this, but I just realized it’s really really reminding me of flea shampoo that I used to bathe my pets with lol

AlexKouss

I smelled this first time 3 months ago when I bought a sample set by Xerjoff. Smelled it and fell in love immediately. After a week I bought it . I have it now for over 1.5 months it lasts over 24 hours and fills a room with no more than 3 sprays for me it projects even after 15 hours one time I wore it at night slept and a got a compliment at the afternoon
Longevity 11/10
Projectivity 11/10
Smell 12/10
Price 8/10
Worth every penny I will buy again when it runs out but this time 100ml

Jagjag

The dry down is Iris. Very similar the Dior Homme and Homme Intense. Iris is not mentioned but that the sum of scents in the dry down

Raul Claudiu

Not bad but wayyy overhyped and overpriced. This is nothing more than an average woody-oudy oriental fragrance to me.

Catastrophi

For context in this review, I am relatively inexperienced with the world of niche fragrances and notes such as oud which are found in this fragrance. I ordered some samples off of LuckyScent including Alexandria II and found out that oud simply is not for me. What I can say about Alexandria II is that the oud found in this fragrance is much less harsh than the other ones I tried (especially when compared to Red Tobacco). Furthermore, I do like the rose, cinnamon and other woods (ESPECIALLY after the fragrance has had some time to sit). Perhaps with more experience I will come to love Alexandria II, but for now I will stick to some more beginner-friendly niches. Definitely make sure to sample this before buying.

Update: I have come to appreciate the smell of oud since I wrote this review. This cologne smells great to me now!

JAIDEEP13

Is it me or does the opening smell like JPG le Male OG?

Abel96

The opening smells like glue/latex to my nose, later when it dries down it turns powdery and woody but this scratchy synthetic apple maybe?! still noticeable....anyone else noticed familiar?

Mina Abdo

Its a masterpiece !

TupacAmaruShakur

@Rahian98

Yeah you wish Dior Homme Intense smelled like Alexandria ll. I can't stand Dior homme intense but Alexandria ll is a masterpiece.

Rahian98

Beautiful scent, very elegant, but smells pretty generic. I don’t smell any Oud except for the first 15 mins. This one starts tame, projects more and more as time progresses. Smells like Dior homme intense/ prada lime intense to me. I am not sure if it has been reformulated or not, but it doesn’t last more than 6 hours on my skin. Pretty disappointed after spending $400 on one bottle.

Saul_Goodmens))

cozy, woody, decently sweet, very elegant and quite mature. i usually dont like to assign perfumes to age groups and personality types but this really smells like you gotta be 30-35+ and wear this only to formal occasions. i like the scent a lot but its definitely not for me.

longevity is unreal, 2 sprays from a decant and i can still very much smell it 10 cm off my wrist, thats after 24 hours and a shower

48 hours another shower and its still there lol

EBUniverse

Warm, powdery, woody. A very mature perfume. A reassuring complement to an elegant outfit.

Max Tatum

Like most of OUDs for me, you have to nail the clothes, presentation, have the presonality and wear it on just right occasion in right weather and country. This is probably just couple occasions in a lifetime type of perfume. I can't imagine anyone using the whole bottle of it. Unless you are into some kind of extravaganza type of thing. Saddly i smell these and similar ones on way too many average Joes in regular situations, probably swayed by current niche hype.

Tripokaridos

This is the only over expensive perfume for me that I justify the price .
Elegant, bold strong last forever without being synthetic, screams quality ... There are so many stages on this after hour and hour from darkness to sweetness to something powdery on the end...
I wish it had a price close to 300euro for 100ml. Because with 600euro 100ml most people will not have the opportunity to get it.
Ps. I didn't like the Alexandria III I find it to feminine.

Agricola

There is a lovely perfume hiding in here, but just as with Erba Pura I am overwhelmed by a very sharp, eternally lasting woody scent. I over-sprayed on to a fabric watch band and it was detectable for weeks, even after multiple washes.

I'm envious of those of you who are afforded a more complete picture of this fragrance.

lidor

Amazing perfume, very luxurious smell, strong, special, perfect presentation. The opening is perfect and is my favorite. The drydown is less special and more of a smooth lavender.
Scent:10
Projection/Longevity:9

Do yourself a favor and try not to smell it for at least 5 minutes. It has a super strong alcohol/ammonia smell "barn door opening" after that it smells really amazing. So much depth. I have a really hard time with powdery fragrances like Dior homme intense, bit this is really outstanding. It's everything I think Dior Homme Intense is supposed to be.

Bob777

Magical Fragrance incomparable to anything else, no fragrance comes even close to this masterpiece by Xerjoff my all time favourite!

Zougariad

Smells like a barn in the opening. Haven’t tried the drydown but I doubt I’d like it

AlexKouss

This is my favorite fragrance, I love Xerjoff they have soooo many amazing fragrances but this , this stands out the most . I bought a discovery pack from Xerjoff and it contained Alexandria 2 when I first smelled it I was shocked it was amazing and it kept getting better and better with the dry down I think it is worth it but it is a little bit over priced 300€ would have been better for 50 ml

afanasyev

Xerjoff, unfortunately, has been a house that has had more misses than hits for me. After owning many bottles from the line-up, I have only found two that were palatable and not headache-inducing. Despite the two exceptions, I am still of the opinion that Xerjoff scents are not created with a lot of love or passion, but are just synthetic chemical bombs encompassing a plethora of popular DNA's.

This is one was a miss by a country mile.

This one begins dry. In fact, so dry that myself and another seasoned fragrance lover could not detect it properly for the first 15 minutes. Peppery, dry cedar wood with no hint of any other facets. Confusing.

As we let it sit, it gradually became less and less likeable. Notes of talcum powder, very weak amber and cheap rose + lavender oils that you would find in the candle section of the local dollar store. The overall scent was akin to the cheap air fresheners and urinal cakes found in a public restrooms. For the price tag that this commands, it also performs extremely poorly, especially for this kind of scent profile.

Hard pass.

Copyninja

This is one of my favorite winter fragrances, it’s smells so royal. And it’s very strong, i will recommend 2-3 sprays anymore and you will just get nose blind

HorlicksB4Bed

Christmas day SOTD 2023
This one is magic in a bottle
Merry Christmas everybody 🥂

Hide12345

the opening smells like a public bathroom/soap, but becomes much more pleasant several hours later.

Noir

I understand the idea behind what Xerjoff wanted to do with Alexandria II, but I'm not a fan of the finished product. I was expecting some higher-quality ingredients, such as the Oud, but to me, it smells like gone-off talc. There are much better rose-oud alternatives out there compared to this, especially considering the price point (even if you buy at discounters). Some of the only positives I can give for it are that its performance is very good and the later stage of the dry-down. Not for me.

mohammedamouri2008

The closest thing this smells to in my collection is Remember Me Black by Atyab Al sheikh just with a little bit less emphasis on Apple

brcamp13

It smells like royalty. I’ve not heard this comparison, but to my nose it smells a bit like Armani code edt.

banksia

Smells a bit like a car dealership

Maya lilac

Smooth, deep, potent, woody, ambery, vanillic scent with subtle floral notes and hints of lavender and green apples.

This scent is so complex and complicated to describe but is it blended so beautifully that you can’t help but love it.

Unisex, I would totally wear it if I was gifted a bottle. Don’t fear the oud note in Alexandria 2, is not a difficult, skanky type of oud. It’s the pleasant, smooth type and used to prolong the life of the scent. What is difficult to digest with this fragrance is the price, that might really upset your wallet!

Absolutely worth trying. It’s a classic Xerjoff for sure.

hihero

Purchased a 10ML bottle expecting to love it and wear it for special nights. Figured I'd get plenty of use out of it even if it was once a fortnight. Sprayed it on my female partner and she hated it. Started telling me everything in my collection smells better. Everything except Black Orchid 😂.

I asked her what she thought it smells like and she said it smells like an old woman and a toilet. I started sniffing her arm every 5 minutes and I have to say for the first 20 minutes up close it smelled like urinal cakes. I was beginning to feel quite disappointed but after about 30 minutes I could still smell my partner meters away and it started to come into its own. I could smell the wood and lavender. It started to give me mysterious middle eastern vibes with hints of sharp spice.
From a distance and when I walked out of the room she was in and then back in I thought wow. Smells great. It's not even easy to describe what it smells like from 2-3 feet away. Best way I can describe it is middle eastern royalty with those woods, flowers (rose, lavender, lily) and cinnamon spice. You really have to be wearing the outfit to match, you have to be dressed classy and I think the setting has to match. It's not enough to be dressed in a polo shirt going to a local cafe because if the attire doesn't match the scent it falls apart for me.

After about an hour we both mutually agree we never smelt any apple at any stage or vanilla (maybe it's still coming???) however the concensuss was mutual that we couldn't shake the urinal cake sensation this fragrance left us with and honestly up close it smelt like piss to me.

I'll take a shower and apply this on myself in the coming day or two and wear it but in conclusion on my female partner this fragrance was out of place for the setting it was applied in which I feel killed it for me but even then only from a moderate distance. Up close it was a toilet freshener through and through for the first hour and reminded me of a gold class cinema toilet with piss on the floor.

______________________________________

Tested it on my own skin after a shower and the initial smell was still luxury urinal cakes. Urinal cakes soaked in a healthy hydrated man's piss with quality incense and spices. Jokes aside there is wood and superior oud. Fragrance makes me think of the dry desert sun and I can't help but imagine someone from the movie "The Mummy" wearing this and totally pulling it off. I can see how YouTubers who are living in Dubai say "wow wee" when they smell it and are fizzing over gentlemen in the middle east wearing this. Like I said I think it has to do alot with the time but also place for this fragrance to work. The exotic toilet phase does pass after about 30-45 minutes for me and it becomes alluring even. Powdery, musky wood. I have to praise the fact I want to come back for more and smell it again and again to discover something new about it like I'm searching the fragrance through and through and it's taking me on an exotic trip through Egypt. It's for a sophisticated nose for sure and I wouldn't recommend wearing it in an office environment or in a car as a professional driver. I sincerely think you'll get alot of curiosity and negativity (even if it isn't vocalized) and compliments in third place.

Okay so my final edit on this review. The sweetness and vanilla really started to come out for me after about 6 plus hours wear. It's beginning to transition into a skin scent but I'm told by my partner it's still projecting 2-3 feet. The initial burst of what I continuously describe as urinal cake is now gone. I actually really enjoy what I'm wearing right now. This fragrance is an adventure. I don't smell anything synthetic just the cream of the crop ingredients on my skin really nice scent just before bed as it mellows completely down.
--------------------------------------------------------
Final thoughts.. buy a 5ml sample. Seriously. Because even if you smelt it on someone else you don't know if they just sprayed it on and it if they're already wearing it for hours. Given my review id be mildly embarrassed applying 4-5 sprays of this and being out and about in good attire. I feel as though you'd stumble on a few people along the way who would be curious or outright displeased. BUT after all that time has passed this is the king of skin scent. After it's all said and done I can't falter the fragrance in it's base dry down. Delicious and mysterious and makes you want to smell your own hand repeatedly.

So my last update on this NYE 2023... I Gave my sample to my mother and she smelt great with it on. I definitely liked it on her skin. It was very strong, extreme projection from two sprays and it lingers for a while. She smelt 7 fragrances in my collection and sprayed a few on her skin on other areas and after a few hours whilst other fragrances dissipated or subsided in projection Alexandria 2 pierced through the air and dominated the room.

Simple, try it at the very least. Alexandria II, for me, embodies my love of fragrances.

Good luck to anyone reading the comments if they are trying to gauge what this might smell like. I haven’t seen another fragrance on here that confuses people so much.

This is one you have to sample before you buy, because it isn’t for everyone. At all!

There’s no question that it is top end, quality. The performance is fantastic.

Powdery, antique, royal.

JusttheFactsMan

#466 in my "Tour de Fragrance"

This is spicy, woody, super oudy, projects for hours, lasts all day. Not versatile at all. Not appropriate business wear, formal if it's not an event where you'll be seated close to someone, like at the theatre or concert hall. It's really potent and could easily get obnoxious. I think it smells amazing. But it's very strong. So go easy on this one.

john_borgia_

No hate no love...... A nice winter spice fragrance

Rysmellsgood

Smells like my dog when they come back from the doggy spa. Blind buy failure of the year lol

jamessbrowning

I don't understand why people like this. It smells like urinal cakes. I showered immediately after putting it on. And it doesn't come off after the first shower.

R.diggity

Le Male for my grandpa but he hates cologne, so I tell him it’s medicine.

BootneyLee

Whoaa! I reviewed this too early. Now I love it. Its a warm, woody, apple pie, that dries down to a musky, powdery wood. Absolutely beautiful. This is certainly the best Xerjoff I own next to Richwood, debating on which is top 5. I get zero Oud. This is mostly Apple, wood, and powder. There is nothing animalic or oudy about this. Unisex. Smells very expensive. Love it, don't love the price, but you get what you pay for..

Augustus857

My first day wearing this and I received compliments from three women and a few other coworkers at my workplace. The opening tends to be a hate it or love it type of deal, Oud tends to be that way.

But the dry down, it's so deep woody and smooth everything works so well together, I mostly smell oud, the woods, lavender, cinnamon just about all of it. Damn this is sexy, I absolutely see why it's so expensive. This one is very masculine and mature.

SuMan2007

Have just got it today and my god, pure magic. I can't stop bringing my arm to smell it. From the opening to the drydown. Amazing. Not an old lady, not a diaper but pure Magic.

Andrewc.68

This is a masterpiece, in my opinion the old lady comments are completely off it smells slightly masculine leaning to me.

moeaboulkheir

Wanted to like it. The apple note is nice on the inhale, but the overall impression is uncannily like that of a soiled diaper. Some other people have noticed this, though I can't understand how more haven't. Breathe deeply, and meditate on the phrase "soiled diaper".

I gave the bottle away.

Dimmuburger

Smells like an insanely wealthy eighty year old woman. Roses, oud and diaper powder.

tanaC

Opulent, Rich and Luxurious could be very cliche word to describe fragrance from House of Xerjoff.

I own feel xerjoffs, gotta Except.
Alexandria II is “it” fragrance of oud world.

strong Oud in rich woody / musky base (lead by cedar top and Sandalwood in powdery manner) but such a wearable fragrance even oud is fairy dominant the composition.

I think Alexandria II youthful because of the Flower / Lavender touch. The apple as well everything just support the “woody-musky-oud” composition.

I don’t think I can reach Alexandria II daily, even harder to reach Alexandria III, even the scent is ever youth, it has noble feel to the touch.

I do like it, clean oud.
Grab a test, you may reinterpret your thought in Oud.

Score : 9/10

Classification : True Unisex
Summary : The Oud Fragrance

feromonica

the drydown is heavenly! have you ever stuck your nose in one of those old, perfectly yellowed paperback books at the library and wished you could bottle up the sweet, musty scent of that paper? this is exactly that. once the sharp opening fades, it is sweetly-woody and powdery with some spice in the background. some crispness remains from the apple and -maybe- the lavender? it does take a bit of an edge to wear (not as much as say, Black Orchid for example) but a woman can absolutely pull this one off.

Toobhai

A perfum made for very mature nose who loves to smell different after having 500+ bottles!! It's bit weird in a good way, plus Massive performer lasts days on skin and clothes depending on whether. There is something that's why it's most expensive one they got on their website! Oud isn't the natural Middle Eastern for sure or can be comparable to anything else!
Not for everyone try before you buy.. This is niche and genuinely one!

Jonathan09

Best oud fragrancecbut it may offend some people

stievenko

All the “old woman” comments are hilarious. To each their own.
Le Male comments as well. Cracking me up!

Alexandria II is indeed not a blind-buy fragrance.
Mostly because of the high price.

In short: nothing but a masterpiece.

Opens with dusty rose (because of the lavander) + palissander wood, fresh vibrant apple squeeze and big musk cloud. Drydown freshness tones and warm amber and vanilla join the concoction.
The real oud note has unfortunately been missing since around 2018-2019, BUT it’s still a favorite of mine.

First few hours great projection and sillage.
Longevity 12+ h

ZachG5

Absolutely do not blind buy this fragrance, performance and sillage are good but it literally smells like an old woman.

struwwelpeter

do not blind buy this. do not blind buy an entire bottle of this. it's such an old woman scent, and not just that it smells awful. The smell that hits your face when you walk into a bathroom after someone took a fat shit in there and then flushed and thought they were doing the next person a favor by spraying half a bottle of air freshener, that's what this smells like. Some nasty air freshener mixed with a distinct fart/soiled diaper note. 0/10

Husein al athas

This is the best fragrance I have smelled so far. still my favorite. blend of oud with lavender, rose, lilies, musk, vanilla, cinnamon, green apple, amber, etc.
very perfectly mixed. feels like it's being handled by an expert.
and using the best materials.
everything fits. nothing is forced. luxury from the choice of materials, bottles, packaging and so on.
It's very easy to get compliments with this perfume. head turner, sexy in a bottle.
I feel this perfume is not suitable for everyday use. but more so when you are at a special event and special moment. Wearing a luxurious dress and using this fragrance will make you truly charming. very classy..
and this fragrance is very long-lasting. I found that Alexandria 2 can last on my skin for up to a day...
The oud here is not a harsh or animalic oud. but an easy to enjoy and very polite oud comes through on the nose.
truly a work of art.
good job Xerjoff. 😍

WhiteOnee

Just Magical

Edger013

Very nice opening reminds me of Naxos. After a while I get a metallic/nutty vibe that reminds me of PDM-Pegasus. But it seems that i'm the only one for so far

Robusto

One of God’s gifts to perfumery. From start to finish I’m in bliss. Will always have a bottle of this.

Avivm7911

This perfume is out of this world, I have never smelled a perfume that in my eyes is like a work of art.
Amazing job, for me its perfect.

PhonePotato

A quality fragrance but too powdery and old smelling for me. It would be great for an older woman 60+.

nisarsarah9

The bottle is gorgeous and the scent is amazing, stays on for so long. The lasting is exceptional and it is best to wear it during winters. Smells really unique and classy.

Batman10

Made a review earlier from a guys pov however I think it would work very well on a woman.

Batman10

smells nice, that's about it. can see what people mean when they describe this as "powdery". unisex but leans feminine, smells like something you'd pick up from your grandmas dressing table. only appeal to buy it would be the gorgeous bottle for me tbh.

Chanel de Lanvin

I would like someone to explain to me what is masculine about a perfume.
I own it and as a man I don't feel anything so extraordinary to affirm my masculinity 😉

the whisperer

One of my favorite perfumes , performance is magical and stayed for +24hrs.
Its strongly leans masculine.

Toobhai

Cons: Let's just say it's a bit unusual I get that but it's just so well blended as a complex scent! As for the price it's expensive but 2 spray from the new batch even stayed after shower for 36 hours on skin & with the time you get to know the scent profile and you will enjoy it! Longevity is out of the world so we know why it's so pricy.
Definitely yes on certain situations!
Scent profile 7/10
Performance 10/10
Price 8/10

Mr.Fresh1979

Sampled it, was hoping not to like it.
Fuck!!! I like it!😍 Same lavender note as they use in Naxos. It's fucking addicting. Will do some more testing, but i already know i am fucked 😜
This is so wearable, not challenging at all to my nose.

Hesssa21

I definitely see the appeal. It's a very smooth oud perfume. It's complex so I suggest you try it for yourself and not blind buy because everybody will have differing interpretations of this perfume. For me, even though lavender is listed as a top note, I can smell it in the background throughout the entire experience of wearing this. This might be an unpopular opinion but this is not as dark as a fragrance as I've been led to believe. The florals and fresh top notes actually make this more of an uplifting and bright perfume in my opinion. The oud is definitely there and noticeable but that's just how I feel. I haven't tried Alexandria III so maybe I'll prefer that as I've heard it's a lot darker than this. Maybe it's because of my taste but this isn't heavy oud fragrance for me personally.

suzanne_ronald

Ammonia-Accented White-Musk & Rosewood...
I'm not sure what this scent was originally intended to be prior to reformulation, but I just have a sample and in its current formulation this is for saffron lovers imo, and particularly saffron lovers who enjoy the ammonia nuances of the spice. Opens with a powdery burst of rosewood accented by a combination of lavender, cinnamon & apple that altogether give an strong impression of saffron with its distinctive ammonia, metallic & "pee-pee-du-chat" tones. It would be helpful if the notes were correctly listed. Oud is listed, but I get more saffron and ambroxan. As it's drying down, overall the blend of notes combine to a powdery white-musk and woods accented by lavender-saffron, although the ammonia tones from saffron verge on overpowering the delicate rosewood. In the long drydown, I get more of an ambroxan note than either oud, sandalwood or rosewood. I'm normally a fan of Xerjoff scents, but this isn't their best offering imho. Performance is well beyond excellent. Saffron lovers might enjoy this.

subemx

@RGH01 I don't know what you're on, but this is definitely NOT Alexandria 2. Maybe somebody fooled you into buying a fake one? Because what I get here is one of the best scents ever! Smells super expensive from the very first moment I spray it on me. But mind you, I bought mine from the Xerjoff store, not from some discounters or the grey market.

amanda0727

I get a strong cumin/curry note in the opening, even though cumin is not listed in the notes. I think it may be the oud note that is giving this smell. This is nauseating to me. I feel like I smell like curry...I mean I like to eat curry ocassionally but I do not want to smell like it. Needless to say, this is not my cup of tea.

Moshikoko

One of the higher quality perfumes, a smell that never ends, even after a shower and long hours, a quality smell, pleasant and addictive.
A scent that makes you want winter to enjoy these performances.

Amazing.

9/10.

RGH01

I blind bought Alexandria II due to the immense hype surrounding this fragrance, I mistake I won’t make again as I soon sold it on. This opens with an intensely synthetic and almost plastic combination of apple, lavender and rosewood. There’s some cinnamon and florals in there but they’re quite subtle.

Onto the dry down - it doesn’t take a genius to work out that Xerjoff doesn’t use real oud, but this smells like some of the cheapest synthetic oud I’ve ever come across. It’s bitter, rubbery and abrasive - almost smells like a badly kept old man’s basement.

This was a very disappointing fragrance for me and I can’t understand all the love for this scent, especially considering how much it costs. I think there are far better offerings from Xerjoff and far better oud-based scents for a similar price on the market.

AllThatJaZZ

Alexandria II was not a planned buy for me, was planning to get Naxos first. Picked this up in a 100ml tester 90 to 95% full for 210 USD converted and sealed 100ml tester Naxos for about 195 USD. This perfume is an absolute stunner, the opening is extremely sharp, big and bold, elegantly sweet spicy woody and ambery… pure quality in a bottle. Projection and performance is thru the roof, I did two sprays on my forearms in the store when I bought it last evening and it’s still going strong 15 hours later, doesn’t get cloying at all. I wanted to finally try Naxos cause I’d been waiting to own Naxos for ages but even after a shower Alexandria II is sharply noticeable. I prefer Naxos over Alexandria II cause I love my tobaccos but this perfume is definitely one of the best I’ve smelled in recent months. I hear Alexandria III is even more potent, I’ll definitely get one when a tester is available for a price I’m comfy with.

maxspry

smells so shit when i tried it on i wanted to remove it from my skin

chridela

sharp and synthetic-smelling, but I do get compliments when I wear it. Beast performance - less is more. The oud is not barnyard. Would not wear to office. Unisex fragrance best in formal setting IMHO. Fragrantica's note pyramid is pretty accurate to my nose. Would prefer to buy other Xerjoff fragrances than to repurchase this one.

lmnsvgz

I understand the hype of this. It smells very elegant - the oud base is there but it's not an animalic oud. There is a sweetness to the lavender in the beginning, but overall the fragrance has so many layers and it is very interesting to observe.

Dilko

Urinal cake

Retromansir

I too had seen many reviews prasing this fragrance. It's not for me, like at all. I'm working on training my those that mentioned urinal cake are not far off. Flat soda and cumin are what I mostly get, sorry. Don't mean any disrespect but this is definitely not for me.

Luca Lucarelii

A good fragrance for fall/winter. Quality synthetics, which most people will like. It lasts about 8 hours on my skin and projects moderately for the first two hours. For me personally in the TOP 5 Xerjoff perfumes.

ChristiandeMendoza

For the man who quietly exudes confidence. Someone who doesn’t vie for, but is prepared for the attention this can bring. I picture this as the possible signature scent of certain Ian Fleming character. Easily in my top 5.

bananasloth

Something in here really doesn't play well with either my skin or my nose. On paper, this should be a frag I love or at least like - on my skin, though, it's stale urine. Absolutely repulsive on me, and so overpowering I can't even detect anything else besides it. In the interest of transparency I should add: I only sampled this once, even though I usually like to give scents at least a couple chances. This was a rare exception where I couldn't bring myself to subject my nose to it a second time.

On a nicer note, its staying power is incredible, even after several scrubs, so I have to at least give it that.

YourWan

When I sampled this the "Reminds me of Section" had JPG Le Male - 69 Yes to 120 No... I couldn't help but think the 120 owned the scent and were trying to justify how much they paid for it, and the 69 sampled it and couldn't bring themselves to remortgage the house to buy it... This is a hard scent to judge... Its beautiful but the asking price is a hard sell... Opening is strong and smooth... Amber Rosewood... Very Smooth first hour... 2 and half hours and a lovely smoooooooth warm enveloping scent... The rose and woods begin to push out the lavender at this point... Very nice... 3 and half hours Even nicer... Going on 6 hours... A high quality beautiful scent... It just keeps going and going... Such a smooth blend... And then a full 7 and half hours in... Boom... One of the nicest whiffs of scent I've ever experienced... Dry smooth amber'y wood... Simply Beautiful...

To me, the opening, mid and even the dry down are in the same vain as Le Male but this adds the head and shoulders to the JPG... I see what you did there... The JPG bottle, oh never mind... Its literally head and shoulders above JPG in quality... You pay a hefty price for the quality however... I'm just not sure that this category of DNA can justify the tag... to me at least... But then again I have no problem shelling out for Nio which when you factor in the price per ml is not that far behind... Paying these sort of prices the scent has to be so special to you... This will be special to some but to me its not Nio special... Not until the very very far dry down... But then there isn't enough day left to enjoy it...

It is Beautiful... The magic happens a full 7+ hours in... Unless you plan on getting up in the middle of the night to apply and be ready to go in the morning its a hard sell...

By the way "The Reminds Me Of" is now 70 Yes and 120 No...

Update: 24+ staying power... But at a price... Reminds me now 72 Yes 123 No...

thomthomthom

the rumors are true, the best-fit fragrance for a special occasion.

Unfortunately i purchased a bottle form the 23522N batch. I am quite disappointed with the quality and the performance.... I bought it from Notino in Bulgaria.....

BEST

Chanel de Lanvin

I bought this perfume on May 2, 2023, so this year, its Batch code: 00923M.
Its production of January 9, 2023.
I can assure you that the quality and the outfit are present, it is a must for me.

dripdrip

I was influenced by the reviews here and on social media, so decided to try it in a store before pulling the trigger and was so disappointed, literally it smells like powder and “nothing”. I don’t know if it was reformulated but it’s crap. I love Xerjoff but this one is not worthy.

JonnyFrags

I’ve been putting off leaving a review on this for a while in an effort to keep testing it to see if my mind changes but I really really don’t see the allure behind this one and I don’t think I ever will.

To me this is the most overhyped Xerjoff ever. It just smells like those cola bottle gummies you get at a candy store with some woody and powdery notes. What is so special about this?

I want to like this but I can’t get that out of my mind every time I smell this.

I’m not saying I hate it or it’s a bad fragrance but to me it’s nothing particularly interesting, like at all. And it’s so expensive.

Do NOT blind buy this based off of the many positive reviews here.

Dayzee

I find this very long lasting and appealing.
Besides, does anyone know if xerjoff changed their packaging at any point. I see two different types of packaging. Or is one an imitation?

SovereignDivinity

You definitely got a bad batch. I get Oud, cinnamon and rosewood. Beautiful and potent.

SMDaka

@Ivane yeah you definitely got bad product because I get zero alcohol notes from this

Chanel de Lanvin

Butylphenyl methylpropional It is a possible human immune system toxicant or allergen.
which functions as a fragrance and masking ingredient, is connected with possible bioaccumulation, organ system toxicity, endocrine disruption and allergies, and contact dermatitis.

Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde (HICC) has been the most reported fragrance chemical for two decades and will be banned in cosmetics from August 2021.

Hydroxycitronellal is a synthetic chemical compound used in cosmetics for its pleasant floral aroma.
This ingredient is often used as a cheaper and more readily available alternative to orange blossom essential oil.
It is often combined with other ingredients to create delicate, long-lasting fragrances for personal care products. Although it can be made synthetically, Hydroxycitronellal can also be isolated from other plants such as rosemary. Although this ingredient is considered safe,
some people may be sensitive to its strong smell and should avoid it.

Yalcin05

Im
Coming back to this scent after two years and I see a lots of complains of performance and no oud, bla bla…

I guess due to bullshit relegations they reformulated.. because if you can’t smell oud in the drydown and already light in the opening this is not Alexandria II. It’s the poopy cheesy oud thing. It should be fruity spicey opening with that oud base that is present a bit.. then goes powdery floral with some oud.. and the base is just oud vanilla and some amber.. very warm, sensual unisex fragrance.

Yes it reminds you of some designers for me the Armani code line is in the same family.. but put them side by side and you’ll understand the quality. If you like that dna vanilla oud with some
Florals.. go for it, but yet again I can’t speak for the new formulations. And ooh.. performance on mine is 10+ hours on skin and weeks on clothes with great Sillage!

Edward.gigi77

This fragrance has been reformulated!!!

older batches before 2021 are good but newer batches it's not worth it!!!Smells different and the performance it's BAD!

I noticed the older batches has 2 chemicals BUTYLPHENYL METHYLPROPIONAL and HYDROXYISOHEXYL 3-CYCLOHEXENE CARBOXALDEHYDE.
But in the new formulation they removed those chemicals and only added HYDROXYCITRONELLAL.

RaggedyAnn

Is this like the Emperor's New Clothes? I get nothing but perfumers alcohol. If there's anything else in the background, it's drowning.

Chesterton

The notes of apple and cinnamon actually come off slightly coffee like to me. The first time I tried this I had had a cinnamon apple combination that I didn't like and I think that experience carried over to this perfume. About an hour in the cinnamon is still fairly strong but the fruitiness, again, gives it a high end lightly roasted coffee feel.

My biggest problem is that I'm not a fan of the apple. And the apple here works with the other notes to feel highly acidic. Think Granny Smith. I think this is the off smell that some people complain about. It is sharp and pops in and out over the course of the day. If you like apples, and sour apples, you will probably like this. I like apples, but I'm not as fond of them -on me-. So that drops it to 'meh'.

Whateverwhocares

Potent mix of spiced woods, cinnamon and lavender. Soapy. Gnarly.

Fruity undertone. Artisan and unique (until LME dropped) but I just don’t get the appeal. Smooth blend but an annoying, abrasive scent. Reminiscent of so many Middle Eastern cheapies I have, but made of obviously better ingredients.

LLdeduction

Spicier and sophisticated version of the Le Male D.N.A, imagine it like a Le Male Prive Line lol. I love that line so this was right up my alley upon initial impressions, and knew this was going to climb up my rankings.

Performance wise this stuff is a monster. Be careful because you'll go nose blind fast and might accidentally nuke a room.

Theend98

This was trash. Sorry to say but if this is what niche is then id rather stick to wearing Reflection man by Amouage, and Intoxicated by Killian for my whole life. Come on..

devils smell divine

smells like a much better niche version of 1million elixir. less sweet more smooth and better blended. i feel its a bit overpriced even though i got it very discounted. it is very good though i really like it and dont regret the buy.

CoachSignature88

Either 90% of y’all are on crack or there has been some sort of reformulation because this is 100% a niche Le male / Cuba gold! No ifs ands or buts about it! I own both those and I know this dna in and out! Pretty disappointed with this super redundancy.. I should have done more research before buying instead of falling for the Dedrick hicks jr hypetrain…. At least I only got the 30ml travel spray and for a great deal. Could be worse I suppose. oils are definitely top notch as aspected. Very smooth for what it is. I will edit after a few wearing if anything changes. But so far if you own Le male or Cuba gold I would pass on this one. Apparently most people here have never smelt those two………. This isn’t anything new like wtf.. and I don’t get any oud. I’m leaning towards there being a reformulation or dna tweak. Buy at own risk you’ve been warned ⚠️ !

Wolfen

This fragrance really breaks even for me overall. The warmth this fragrance wields is amazing, and the base of the scent is wonderful. However, the mid section is nothing exceptional and the opening is EXTREMELY harsh. This fragrance really falls into a similar family with Dior Homme/Fahrenheit where the fragrance is either DEFINITELY for you or ABSOLUTELY NOT for you with basically no in between.

fuckleshire

Unfortunately was not really a fan of this, although I didn't hate it. I can understand how some may appreciate the complexity here, but I felt, contrary to other's impressions, that the oud was too animalic. The oud here makes the fragrance feel a bit dirty and unbalanced, especially in the opening. Just not as clean of an oud as I expected.

The dry down is more rose forward. I was hoping that ample spices would compliment the prominent rose note, but there isn't as much cinnamon or lavender as I expected. Overall this felt more musty and old-fashioned than cozy. Not something I can see myself wearing outside of the house. 6/10

Luigi408

Love at first smell. I fell in love immediately after my first spray just as I did with Naxos. Simply a work of art. Worth every penny not only for the fantastic sent, but it also last and has strong sillage. This is quality. 10/10.

Rjhuggi

This was a blind buy. To be honest I was surprised about how this smells, nothing like I expected. It took a couple of wears to appreciate how beautiful it really is and it is quite addictive (but not nearly as much as my baby FARS!.) To my untrained nose it's light and airy but polarizing and very clean smelling. Could easily be an everyday scent. A very strong like for me 👍

greenglama

The dry down makes me think of Bal d'Afrique on steroids

LucyGoose

Upon first spray, I was immediately repulsed and fought the urge to run to the bathroom and scrub it off. The scent was a nauseating combination of acetone and oud. 30 minutes in and it's begun to soften and the harshness has mellowed a bit. Not enough to be enjoyable though. Hard pass.

niagara2

The hype around this is fully justified, the fragrance is outstanding. The combination of wood and lavender is beautiful. I get a bit of rose and a bit of iris as well, wrapped in creamy and soapy sandalwood. At the same time, it is very wearable and transparent. Love.

katherina.1

I tried several of Xerjoff offerings today and this was one of them. For reference, I am a woman.

For me this leaned very masculine on me and I don’t think I would ever be able to pull this one off. For those who can, I bow down, because it’s a bad ass scent👏🏼 Straight up luxurious vibe! For me personally, I would love to smell this on a man, but not on myself. La capitale is more up my street.

The longevity on this one is beast mode, at least on me. I tried to wash it off several times and even used alcohol to remove it and I could still smell it faintly on my wrist. So definitely a beast.

Chanel de Lanvin

From reviews of Cuba Gold, it seems to be closer to JPG than Xerjoff.
I do not have this Cuba Gold, so I do not know how to give a nuanced opinion, however I can confirm that Alexandria II does not look anything like JPG.
I am very happy with my purchase like others I think, and the dupes even if they are close to the original
, will never compete in quality of materials and sometimes of outfit.
I believe that if the big brands and those of niches could get these materials used by dupes, they would increase their sales for sure.
Either we agree on copies of perfumes at a lower cost to just smell good,
or we get the brand perfume that will have all the magic of its creation, and respect towards those who work to share with us the true passion of perfume.
In cars Fiat is not a dupe of Ferrari 😉

AP Riyadh

Pure class.
Powdery scent of the desert fit for any part of the world. Perfect blending makes for an amazing scent profile that stays true throughout the wear.
Lasts 8+Hours for me and versatile enough for summer evenings too.
Unisex.
Shukran Habibi!

MSC99

Overrated. The scent is ok but I don’t think it justifies it’s price and it doesn’t deliver the effect one would expect from such a perfume.

parrotec

I have been testing a sample of this and it oddly reminded me of something I've smelled before. Lo and behold I went to change the trash and it hit me... The smell reminds me of Hefty Lavender and Sweet Vanilla trash bags.

Dentfume

Unfortunately the formulation has totally changed. It is not the perfume it used to be.After owning 4 bottles my last purchase was a total disappointment. All good things end in this life, together with this masterpiece.

stievenko

The comparisons to Le Male. Jesuuuuuussss people what are you smoking? I have both, even Le Male in his first bombshell 90’s formulation. There’s zero similarities. If you feel so, there’s no need to shell out the money on this fragrance. As it’s very expensive, you wouldn’t want to waste it on another Le Male flanker.

Now on to the scent, it IS very unique, and I was a happy camper well before this was hyped. Up until 2018 this was a beast and had a specific oud in it which made it spectacular. Unfortunately the sprayer on my 2017 bottle broke in 2020. Xerjoff was very reasonable and replaced my bottle for a new one at the time. I was very happy with that kind of customer service right until I sprayed it at home to find out it was reformulated. It just doesn’t last and project as it used to. The smell is still fantastic though. So disappointed but what can you do. I hope my bottle intensifies as it macerates, but I don’t have my hopes up. Still one of the best houses on the market, albeit overpriced like a lot of other niche offerings.

*EDIT* 11/11/23: this bottle has gracefully macerated and is now a true workhorse. And I meen that in the best wat possible. Ahhh, so happy to have my baby back!!!

Chanel de Lanvin

You're probably used to being in these kinds of places, so your nose is saturated.
A perfume that smells of the bathroom in a stadium, we will have seen everything as perfume reviews in this forum 🤣🤣

Sylect

Why does this literally smell like a men's bathroom at a stadium?

Chanel de Lanvin

I've already smelled the Male from JPG and I can't find any resemblance to Xerjoff, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it since I don't like JPG perfumes.
Alexandria II is not like all those commercial male fragrances.

alessandraj18

This is Daenerys Targaryen in a fragrance. It’s spicy, elegant and smells like fire in a perfume!

E.L.2002

I will do the comparison to JPG's Le Male, because I think it is justified:
Compared to Le Male, Alexandria II is

-Less Synthetic/more "smooth"
-Less Fresh/Green
-More woody

And it does smell better overall in my opinion.
Whether it is worth the price is for you to decide.

Scent 9/10
Performance 9/10
Versatility 7,5/10

Chanel de Lanvin

I just received this perfume, and what can I say, except for a nice olfactory slap.
The materials used are consistent for the development of the perfume.
Alexandria is the invisible city built like the wooden kingdom of the gods.
It is an amphitheater erected to stage our intoxicating passions, the cult of one's own essence, the crossroads of rites celebrating opulence as their religion.
It's incense that burns in the dark like eyes filled with passion and a love letter to fill an entire library.
It's the intimacy of a blooming rose, the missing half of the apple, the gentle strength of cedar, the deadly temptation of lily of the valley.
It's a river of passion that flows through the middle of a city.
The mature Laotian oud enters the nostrils like a queen entering her court heralded by gong chimes, her wake more precious than gold.
Welcome to Alexandria: the most beautiful seat in history.
Yes, it's a masterpiece, above all don't think it smells rancid, an unpleasant odor and an acrid taste, fatty acids under the effect of oxygen in the air, so frankly if the perfume would smell like that, it would not have our favor, that of recognizing and appreciating a great perfume.

Mr.Sand

This is a fragrance that deserves to be worn when dressing up! It’s very rich, powdery, dry, and very opulent! This smells like old money! I have a newer batch from 2022 and the longevity and sillage are both insane! Now let’s get to how this smells! To my nose I would describe it as if JPG Le Male had TF Oud Wood in the base. It is definitely a powdery and dry experience that is oh so very good! This is sweet, but not quite on the same level as Naxos. It’s floral from the lavender, but doesn’t smell feminine at all. The Oud in this is low at about 2-3% and gives a very dry “old wood” scent profile. This is NOT the animalic/fecal smelling ouds that some fragrances have. So it’s definitely safe in that regard! It has a creaminess from the type of musk they used in this that compliments the entire fragrance. Over all a 10/10 luxury scent

Cholera

Ambery, powdery, woody with a hint of oud, It has that rubbery smell especially when you smell it up close on skin. I love it, high quality niche fragrance that smells so warm and lovely. Kinda feels like a more sophisticated version of issey miyake noir ambre that has more character. Considering how expensive this is you might want to sample it first but overall it is very inoffensive and classy.

KC_Tack

Alexandria II... Darlings, what do we have here? Powder, Oud, Powder, Powdery-Wood, Powder, Vaugue-Sweetness, Powder, and a Powdery-Powder.

I know clone houses are all the rage right now. Looking to save yourself a quick $300? Check your local corner drugstore. I think it's called Johnson & Johnson. Comes in a white bottle and runs about $2.99. Completely blowing my mind right now!

*Disclaimer: Don't shake the clone bottle before you open it, or you'll get a blast in the face when you twist the cap. Same thing always happened to my art teacher during her many bathroom breaks during class. Always coming back with the Alexandria II clone on her nose.

On second thought, better not risk it all together and just get the Alexandria II. If you like very powdery fragrances.

Cherrycardinal

Does it give diaper? Yes. Does it give best diaper in the world? Yes. Layer it with a pure incense oil, sandalwood, palo santo, frankincense, myrrh etc to balance the powdery indolic quality. It's almost like a raw musk oil itself, strong animalic although overall velvet soft. Hefty dose of cashmeran

Carlos The Don

I dont like it, its a linear scent that stays the same.
However, my girlfriend likes it, so different per person.

MatchaCat

Someone else mentioned Johnson & Johnson baby oil and I have to totally agree! It smells just like that. In the opening, I mainly get a dusty amber and a slightly animalic and plasticky oud. As it dries down it smells like the vintage makeup powder your grandmother would put on her face. This is not a strong fragrance. It almost smells like a second skin. I don't see this appealing much to women since it's not sweet, but a man might like it. I picture a man dressed in a black tux wearing this on the red carpet. I got my sample directly from Xerjoff about a year ago.

Smell: 7 out of 10
Longevity: 6 out of 10
Leans more masculine

For reference, I'm female.

guardiangel

strong and unique, it's definitely something

brokesta911

Xerjoff Alexandria II (2012) - powdery woody rose - Though marketed as an Oud-forward perfume, #chrismaurice ‘s perfume starts with a predominant Rose, Waxy aldehydes supported by Rosewood. Lily of the valley and white musk carries the heart forward and creates a beautiful sillage. Dry-down has a gourmand cedar, amber and white musk base. Elegant inspired from old-world floral musk perfume made for modern sensibilities.

kozlowski

this is something else and I do not say it lightly
I love the metallic/rubber thing in this

anthonycball

Powdered elegent woods and a pronounced Oud. Wears and feels dry on skin. Nothing syrupy or gooey here, with very limited sweetness.

Smells of high value. Smells of high quality. Those who are sensitive or dislike powdery fragrances may struggle with this one.

Xerjoff Alexandria II... The high-class, well-dressed, refined individual; who is also opposed to chaffing and goes heavy with the talcum powder.

Rating 8/10

SKYTUBE

That appeals to those who enjoy bold and complex fragrances that make a statement. If you are a fan of oud-based fragrances or are looking for a special occasion fragrance with a rich and opulent feel, Alexandria II Xerjoff might be worth trying out.

beGentile

Call me crazy, but in the air I cant smell no difference between Alexandria II and Megamare by Orto Parisi.
These two have/share that syntehic (chalone/ambroxian)note in composition that smells almost identical(in the air right). The main difference is that Alex II has that intoxicating woody/ambery base(similar to Armani code absolu) opposite to Megamare which is more airy/sharper/agressive.

This one is big pass for me because it is overhyped and also it has very high price tag which does not meet the high criteria of expectation.

ant615

This doesn’t stink but it does smell strange, I definitely wasn’t expecting it to smell like this. This isn’t my favorite scent DNA but everyone was hyping it up and I gave in and I’m not too impressed with so far

kb1988

If you had to describe the word "beautiful" with just one fragrance, this would be the one. End of the story.

Rating: 10/10

Kopeurfilde

I bought a sample because i saw youtube review where somebody said it was a 10 out of 10 masterpiece... lol
Saying it's not for me is an understatement.

ColoradoCouloir

This is one of those ‘love at first spray’ or ‘where have you been hiding my whole life’ scents for me.

Only the price keeps me from wearing more often. I’ve now finally had a chance to sample and wear a wide variety of real Oud, from funky to elegant, from a simple rose/incense to complex gourmands. And while I enjoy almost all of them, none have instantly seemed as right as this one; with the caveat that I haven’t tried the best from several other major niche houses.

I’m also aware that sudden feeling of comfort comes more from the lavender rather than the Oud. But all the pieces here are orchestrated at a very high level so that the sum is far greater than than its parts. Elegant balance. My notes from my initial test says it all “damn it, I really like this”

Kallari

As the School Scent founder said “it’s how a rich Saudi King will smell like” pure oud mixed very well with the other ingredients, should be used in very important occasions or always if you don’t mind paying the high price to buy the most expensive fragrance note out there. It’s better than all the designer and niche floral oudy fragrances I tried. It deserve a special place but not everyone will like it since there’s a lot of people who never smelled oud before. It stays for a day on my skin and it projects very well and I wouldn’t recommend wearing it for people to like your smell, because of the the reason I pointed out, rather wear it if you love it.

OlfactoryMaroon

Selling my 50ml bottle if someone is searching. UK based. Drop a message.

muzzbait

A woody, smooth, resiney scent which, to be honest, reminded me a little of the Fort & Manle line.
It does kinda smell a little too synthetic, though. Like, a LOT of aromachemicals swirling around in this.

The lavender blending with the sandalwood makes an interesting accord -- not one I love, but it is interesting, nonetheless...
I think it's something that could have more mainstream appeal (as in, if this wasn't made by Xerjoff, and instead made by a designer / celebrity).
That said, I'm not all that much moved by this, so who knows.
Anyway, it's a no from me...

Neil_laurence

Only had as a sample and would love this in my collection but price is a little out of reach.
Although this is a unisex fragrance, I would say it errs to the side of being more on the feminine side. Great longevity and could smell a single spray (on the wrists) all day.

Scentologist11

I can't find any similarity to some of the horrible experiences people have had up here.

That it is expensive on the Internet almost everywhere (400-700€) Yes!
On Xerjoff's official website, it is the cheapest - €325!

Comparisons with mold and other smelly things - I can't detect any of the above - Thank God :)

For me, it's like a warm hug, full of emotions and love!
The agar oud inside is never heavy and sour like in some cheap perfumes! Lavender as a sign of purity, and vanilla and sandalwood round off the pleasant woody sweetness.. A little apple and rose - simple and good!

Maybe the price is a little too high, but never a bad experience!
If you are a collector or perfume lover - at least test a few ml - to get your own picture of this!

Partially unisex!

sandra_101

If Alexandria II were a person, they would be someone impeccably well-mannered and well-dressed, who has a whiskey in the drawing room every evening. They speak in a low voice with a vaguely foreign accent that feels familiar but you can't quite place. Are they a man or a woman? Who knows, who cares. They're smooth, unpretentious in their luxury, slightly sweet and flattering, and make you feel good about yourself.

Storms861

This is a mix between Layton (Parfums de Marly) and Oud Wood (Tom Ford) - with a bit of JPG Le Male thrown in. Baffled by the negativity, really pleasant fragrance. Got a compliment wearing this although, with the scent profile it has, I feel as though it’s unusually quiet on my skin.
