Spicebomb by Viktor&Rolf is a Woody Spicy fragrance for men. Spicebomb was launched in 2012. The nose behind this fragrance is Olivier Polge. Top notes are Pink Pepper, elemi, Bergamot and Grapefruit; middle notes are Cinnamon, Saffron and Paprika; base notes are Tobacco, Leather and Vetiver.

Viktor & Rolf present the male equivalent of the famous Flowerbomb fragrance (2005) and the second men's fragrance after Antidote (2006) under the name of Spicebomb. The designer duo wanted to give men the fragrance that is Flowerbomb to women, bearing in mind that spices are for masculine scents what flower notes are for feminine.

Spicebomb comes out in January 2012 as an explosive and extrovert oriental - woody and spicy composition. Perfumer Olivier Polge blended spices with sensual undertones; creating two diametrically opposed fragrant accords: 1. the addictive and fiery one and 2. the explosive and icy one. The fiery accord contains notes of chili, saffron, leather, tobacco and vetiver. The explosive one includes bergamot, grapefruit, elemi and pink pepper.

Fabien Baron designed the bottle so it looks like a hand grenade, which “triggers” with the designer’s logo. The face of the campaign is a model Sean O'Pry, photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

The fragrance is available as 50 and 90 ml Eau de Toilette with 200 ml shower gel and 100 ml after shave balm.

My former hairdresser wore this before he passed. There is a vanilla type note in this and it dries down to a skin scent. Its very feminine leaning to my nose, not sexy or romantic on a man. A well balanced androgynous scent.

The Beholder

@Filosykos
I agree with Aroma Addictus. The current formulation of Spicebomb is a pale shadow of the older one. The newer bottles are very weak in performance and the scent is almost gone within 2 hours. The original formula was more balsamic and thick. There is no way in hell that the newer bottles perform better than the older ones. Like "Smellsbells" said lower, he took his bottles to Nordstrom and convinced the people over there that the older bottle smells better and stronger. The scent is ruined indeed and many are reselling their bottle once they discover that the scent is not the same anymore.

Filosykos

The below review is untrue.
I have tried and own both formulations older one is yellowish and the newer batches are more of a clear color. The older version may have a bit of a richer feel to it at first but the current stuff on me has better longevity and is a bit dryer. Also the newer version needs to mature a bit to reach it's full potential. It's fantastic and I even bought a back up bottle. It has not been ruined in any way.

Aroma Addictus

Spicebomb EDT is without a doubt one of the best designer fragrances ever created for men. It is absolutely heartbreaking to see how reformulations have destroyed this beautifull creation. It completely changed the perception of how sweet a men's perfume is allowed to be. From what I remember Spicebomb before the reformulation had a distinctive camphorous note; something that smelled allmost like "VapoRub" (balsamic/waxy/minty) and it gave the fragrance insane projection and longevity. I don''t know if its the elemi in combination with other notes that created that effect. But you can clearly notice that the batches after 2015 are lacking that mysterious balsamic/camphorous note. The scent is now flat, dry and more peppery but the performance is absolutely horrible. It becomes a skin scent within an hour and it's not worth to purchase. Buy Spicebomb Extreme instead. I hope one day I have the luck of finding an old bottle that does right to the name Spicebomb.(balsamic spicy sweetness)

i took one of my 2014 bottles to nordstrom and tested spicebomb with 4 other people-2 worked there . And the 2014 bottle was so much stronger and denser it was very eye opening.

perlindvall

There is a transparent bottle out there, maybe a new version, better than this, almost a bit like Azzaro Most Wanted. Infrared is also good. The thing with these perfumes today though is that they are way too weak. I guess they are dealing with inflation but more likely greed. Spraying half the bottle doesn't work either when everything is gone soon anyway. I shouldn't have to carry the bottle with me. And they are also not sophisticated perfumes for men.

H4jdm

Selling a used bottle 2015 batch, on eBay.
120/150 ml remaining. Check it out if you’re interested. The bergamot is dominant in the opening not like the current formulations, spicy and great longevity.

This fragrance projects weak but lasts okay. it smells amazingly spicy and just overall smells amazing. 7/10.

Veskia

Loving this as a layer, but can't find myself wanting to wear it alone. Will give it another solo attempt in fall/winter so it has a fair chance. Straight dry cinnamon spice backed with a small amount of vanilla. A lot of cinnamon spice fragrances have an almost candied cinnamon note to me, to the point it's overwhelming and even stops smelling spicy, this one changes that for me. This one spells like you've mixed pepper and cinnamon in a bowl and are now wafting it into your nose. It does get sweeter as it dries, which is where I wish it would retain more spice. If you wanted a Spicebomb that will perform really well on its own, I'd recommend looking at Extreme, Nightvision, or Infrared.

Afc_Croatian

This is everything you want Spicebomb Extreme to be if you are NOT a fan of its overpowering cinnamon and immense projection.
Now we all know Spicebomb Extreme is phenomenal, but if you are like me, chances are you get headaches if your scent is too strong. If I feel a headache coming, Spicebomb Extreme will amplify it.
The scent profile is amazing, the vanilla cinnamon tobacco is one of the best on the market, but once again can be so strong, I cannot even fathom wearing it in an intimate setting.

Then comes the original Spicebomb, without the vanilla here, it tones it down very well and makes it an easy wear! Nothing against the Extreme, but if you want something with less power, you go for this one.

Not much else to add, the longevity is still great and it's a calmer version of the Extreme.

8.5/10 :)

Compared to Spicebomb extreme thats mid one. Better go for Extreme.

To my nose, this is not a bomb of spices.
i’ve been collecting niche frags for a while, and have barely gotten around to testing Spicebomb because i thought to myself “i see enough videos plugging it (at least the extreme), my favorite accords are spicy” so i went to a local perfumery to test it out.
At first, i thought the opening smelled like pickles, and then in the dry down it reminded me of Rehab by Initio. Definitely did not live up to my expectations! However, i did fall in love with the dry down, and after a few wearings really started enjoying that opening!
I think this fragrance is unique, quite sexy, and honestly versatile! And for an EDT i get excellent performance! I was catching whiffs for almost 10 hours!!!

👋Hey vintage hunters!

I just spotted a first formula 2013 batch SPICE BOMB EDT on eBay under the store handle 'guardianofthefragrances'.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/176314189594

First formula Spice Bomb batches are GRAIL as they were loaded with concentrated naturals, and pre-IFRA banned aroma chemicals. The very first ‘yellow juice’ batches were stronger with extended performance and projection. Don’t waste your money on modern bottles they are like body sprays in comparison.

I'd get the bottle myself, but I have too many bottles lol. I've shopped with the seller before - very friendly, knowledgeable, trustworthy, gives you free samples in your order, and even offers refunds if your purchase doesn't meet your expectations.

Just spreading the word!

Austin Jackson

Too much cinnamon for me, if they would tone down that note, I would love this frag, not a bad smelling one either.

raef_sherif

It reflects its name a real Spicebomb

DarthFragrance

I'm using up my sample of this today and it's a good fragrance. It has the core Spicebomb DNA, it just seems boring compared to the good flankers, like it's missing something. This is my first time smelling the OG after wearing the flankers countless times. I like this DNA better with the vanilla from Extreme, or the red fruits from Infrared EDT, or the leather from Infrared EDP. The OG smells great and I think people smelling it on me would like it, but for me as the wearer, the flankers are more enjoyable to wear. The OG just seems boring now in comparison and the performance isn't very good. I think this line got really big with the release of Extreme because it smelled better and had way better performance.

JamesMcC

Great fragrance, I wear it as my signature and often receive compliments while wearing it. It can be found for very cheap prices, I got mine new for £55, 100ml/3.4 oz which is a lot cheaper than the more popular spicebomb extreme. In my opinion this is miles better for the price and my friends believe that this is the best out of the line.

H4jdm

This is incredible, I purchased a 2015 bottle, and oh man this is very much different to the current spicebomb. I get that opening of spices and citrus, and that citrus is quite prominent. I’ve never smelt the citrus in the newer formulations. But the dry down is more or less the same but just added bergamot. It’s great longevity and performance.

JuanchxFragrance

This is a SPICE-BOMB. It will tickle your nose with how spicy it is yet the dry down is what its worth, slowing down on the spice and more sweet and woody. Super amazing to smell and very masculine, definitely a compliment getter 9/10

AggelosDimakotopoulos

Still a hit in 2024. Not as good as extreme or maybe infrared edp or Bvlgari Man in Black, but still a great sweet spicy kinda youthful scent

Flamma777

Open very spicy but gets better
The drydown is Amazing with that sweet tobacco & leather

WildCalifornia

I am not a fan of really spicy fragrances. But with so much love that this collection gets in finally decided to try it. I tested this one on a strip and I will say it a smelled nice and I was very intrigued. I bought a travel size to give it a chance . At first it's nice , not very in your face, smooth. It has a sweet mellow scent that starts to build up. Then once it's been on for about 15 it really starts to live up to the spicebomb name. At that point I knew this one wasn't for me. I started getting a notes of animal hair mixed with warm spices. Not for me. I can see how people like it but for me it's a no.

V&R SPICEBOMB EDT
3/26/24

One of the best scents ever. 2017 bottle. But I only get 5 hours out of this.

Spicy, fresh, mild tobacco, not sweet...and sexy as f**k! Women love it. Projects just right...moderately. My dumb-reach for casual days/nights in Fall/winter. Great for the club/dancing. Office safe...but doesn't last the day. I own the extreme also...but the EDT is more FUN and YOUTHFUL to me.

I gave a 2018 bottle to my son in college. He loves it!
Bought a 2013 backup bottle already. In my TOP TEN of the 60+ colognes I own.

Fragrentation

Love the original.

Smells like Spicebomb infrared but less spicy and more fresh

This scent started my fragrance journey. Last summer I did a cycling trip accross Iowa, and in the middle of the week in Des Moines I met a friend that I only worked remotely with for the first time ever. He treated me with such hospitality that I felt like a king for a night in the middle of a sweaty week of bicycling. When I got home I decided to treat myself more, and he suggested Spice Bomb as my first cologne, and I was a big fan.

The smell is a very mass appealing cinnamon and maybe some tobacco deep in the notes. I still prefer the EDT the most, though the flankers all have a bit more individuality to them.

Broodje-Pindakaas

Great fragrance, smells really powerfull for an EDT. The smell kinda reminds me of speculaas with the spices.

Samwill89

Nothing like the original. Still a head turner years later. Always get compliments wearing this in the fall and winter.

fredjoan123

This is the fragrance I use when I'm working from home alone. I enjoy this for myself only. it puts me on a good mood. 10/10 scent.

devendaljit

For me, I like this much more than spicebomb extreme and you don't sacrifice much longevity even though it is an eau de toilette. Such a cozy fragrance that smells so good and I love wearing it at home when I'm just chilling. Definetely a night time fragrance. Overall, 7.5/10

TheGent

I've found this fragrance so disappointing.
The opening scent is stunning and warming and just 10/10. However it projects for an hour then becomes a skin scent, then is all but gone within 4 hours.
I've had it now for three months and it's just as weak as the day I bought it.

ApeMaxxxing

atomiser is so creamy
i love using it on cold rainy days or late night partys

jojidemon5

very strong spicy and sweet perfect for a night out. Not to be worn in closed spaces WILL be cloying and headache-inducing. Very mass appealing and will get you lots of complements if that is what you want. Has lots of vanilla and cinnamon.

presentation 8/10 Cool bottle
atomizer 7/10 gets the job done
smell 10/10 one of my favs of all time
mass appealing 10/10
versatility 4/10 not very versatile. strictly a winter night frag
longevity 6/10 about 6 hours
silliage 10/10 monstrous

Recommend blind buying

It all started like a year ago, when I bought it in a school trip. Me and my friends decided to buy some fragrances so we could mark our very first school trip. I chose Viktor und Rolf Spicebomb. Damn. Every time I smell it, it reminds me of that trip. Anyways, very very nice nose pleasing fragrance featuring notes of saffron, tobacco and cinammon with a touch of subtle leather that hugs the notes listed above. On my skin, longevity is around 7-8 hours with a very good projection in the first 1,30-2 hours. I see this as an everyday winter fragrance due to its potency and mass appealing smell ( my ex loved to smell it on me altough she did not like the opening because she thought it was way too harsh, but I don’t get that).

Best Spicebomb in the line, will always have it in my collection!

nicksbored

A nice overall winter fragrance. Mostly for night.. I can't say though its a compliment getter

Longevity 6/10 lasts about 5-6 hours
Versatility 5/10
Price 6/10 OK price
Bottle Design 8/10

This smells so good! Ik It’s called spicebomb but my nose picks up a very sweet type of spice that I love. This fragrance has made me want to start collecting. My favorite at the moment. I haven’t smelled better so a 10/10 rn but that could change in the future. Last decently long, not the best projection but I could smell myself in the wind!!

sally110

to be completely honest this smells like a male above 40 in the upper middle class, very manly and i think its good also lasts long :)

The Best SpiceBomb

I never even gave the original a chance until recently. I was new to fragrance and extreme was being rammed down my throat by every YouTuber going. I ate it up of course and SB extreme was one of my very first purchases. It's fine but I never got the wow factor or enjoyment that I had been promised by so many. Fast forward a couple of years when I had some time to kill around a department store one day. There was a tester out on the shelf of the original and so I decided to give it a spray on test strip and then walk around for a bit.I couldn't stop sniffing the strip it was so good. I returned to the tester and put it on my skin. This time it smelled even better! Such a perfect blend of spice and sweetness. Once home I immediately was ordering from my local discounter; it's less than half the price of extreme where I live (about $50 USD) so really good value for me. I love this scent and really enjoy wearing it. My batch is very recent but I still get a good couple of hours projection followed by a couple more as a close scent bubble. Then maybe 2-3 more as a skin scent. That's plenty for me for what I pay so more than happy. I highly recommend giving the OG a shot if you haven't already.

DaveCave

Love the OG more than any other in the line just the best!

jbroadist

Opens with strong cinnamon, with balanced sweetness. Balances nicely in the dry-down. Masculine and alluring.

coolwaterlover

very underrated better than both infareds

jbfragrances22

For a while I wanted to go for the extreme version, but after comparing the two I went ahead and purchased this one, and I’m glad I did! I find extreme to be heavy on the vanilla which so many scents have done these days. This one is much more focused on spices. That initial blast of pink pepper is amazing. Wish it was an EDP concentration but performance isn’t terrible for an EDT. What you’ll get here is mostly spices, cinnamon, and tobacco. This stuff is delicious. I’d say if you have a lot of vanilla forward scents give the original Spicebomb a shot over the extreme.

Pleasure Man

Life changer and self confidence booster. Whatever I try, I find myself with that one at the end. I got so many compliments when I was in Russia. So I can say that it works in cold better. Performance depends on your skin. But I heard from some friends that their house still smelled like me days after I left. My last date talked about my perfume and how amazing it is before saying hi which means i can consider it as nice, seductive dating fragrance. I prefer that one instead of extreme version. But many may not agree with me.

stapanu

Simple, cheap, and amazing smell, great for everyday use IMO.

dudebro

grown man juice 10/10

smellimelk

this feels like a much welcome antitheses to blue bottle frags. pink pepper&grapefruit at the top is like a firework - moving up, up, and cascading back down. when the embers reach the ground - it's warm skin, sun shining thru amber glass, cinnamon stick brooms and chewy molasses cookies. sensual, not sporty. understated and well balanced.

TLTG_kumguzlr

Spicy but not too spicy.
Sweet but not too sweet.
Winter but not too winter.
Warm but not too warm.
Can’t wait for the next flankers.

Joel_Fragrence1234

very warm and cozy. Didnt love it at first but now am obsessed

FragrantCum69

I agree with the review below. I'll add that it's largest appeal is the bottle itself while the juice recalls memories of laying my face against freshly vacuumed carpet that my mom sprinkled potpourri scented powder on. It's not the best in my humble opinion, scent 4/10 bottle 9/10

Shadow09

Just received a 90 ml tester of this OG. Not sure if it’s reformulated, but it only lasts about 90 minutes in my experience even after over spraying. Not even so much as a skin scent afterwards. Zero, nothing :(

AaronMclean0205

One of my favourite scents of all time. It's a great scent and perfect for winter. This is by far a definite repurchase for me. It's spicy and the scent really fills a room. I heard it was recently reformulated however the older bottle I have smells absolutely amazing. 10/10.

cornflakesenjoyer

The pink pepper on this one is so good

HenrikEggum

Love it. rly good opening with that spicy smell, the drydown is also so nice, love the sweet cinnamon vibe everything is great about it really. Great for the winter.

NevesR

Very nice clean spicy and musky scent, slightly sweet but well balanced, airy, not cloying at all...very versatile and unique for the time it was released, back when designer scents were exciting. Average performance. 7/10

Etxrnity

This definitely lives up to its name “Spicebomb” loll
This thing hits you right in the face with pepper and spice scents. Its awesome. Perfect for winter/christmas time 🔥.

9/10

Behr

This is an interestingly spicy, masculine and youthful scent. It is a nice twist on a traditional spicy scent using cinnamon bergamot and pink pepper. When I first spray it is very prominently pink pepper. As it dries you smell more of the cinnamon and tobacco. If you are used to a more common spicy/fresh scent like suavage or bleu de Chanel and wanted to smell more unique but still not offensive, I think that this is a good option. I have smelled the flankers and they are good as well, for me I like the original and Infarred the best. I would recommend this for the fall and into the winter.

Bizzy1995

A soft spice with loud saffron followed by Tabacco and leather. Not good not bad. Certainly not my favorite

kapinss

It's just amazing! Most underrated Spicebomb

Tmanarl

I've worn this a few times now and it's not really speaking to me. Lots of spice as you would expect, cinnamon, good for the holiday season and cold weather. The drawback for me is that it does not project nearly what I was expecting it to. I like it but don't love it.

hellogoddag

The thing that makes me especially in love with this original Spicebomb is the combination of saffron, citrus and pimento "addition" to the cinnamon base. While Spicebomb Extreme lean to the more bakery / lollipop lane, this original has something else to afford. Something unique. A unique blend with elements of many other of my favorite fragrances.
(
Saffron: armani mania
Pimento & cinnamon: Gucci Pour Homme II
Tobacco, leather and cinnamon: Burberry London
)

All lovely favorites

Phil413

A masterclass in perfumery. Sophisticated scent that can be worn by most, but better for 20+ crowd.
This is one of those fragrances where every time I smell it I'm impressed by the quality.
Definitely recommend

Bingo30

An absolutely incredible smell. Wearing this fresh out of the shower boosts my confidence and mood a millionfold. One of my all time favorites.

Pepper is the prominent player here, by far. A masculine, addictive, intoxicating pepper with some cinnamon and a menagerie of other spices which don’t stick out on their own. A smidge of tobacco to keep things honest. Just a great blend.

It is definitely a “designer-fied” oriental fragrance… but in a way that adds to its charm rather than takes it away? Almost like how processed cheese tastes better on a burger? If you get it, you get it.

This has been ripped off by multiple niche houses (Initio, Histoires, etc) but never truly beaten in my opinion.

Just the right balance of spicy, fresh, sweet, masculine, mass appealing, unique, and… affordable!!!!! I would even say this is a 3.5-4 season fragrance.

I enjoy this more than any of the flankers. I actually hate some of the flankers. This one does it for me though. Will have a bottle on my shelf until I’m old and gray.

Masterpiece!

Best winter and autumn fragnance! Signature material

Pavel Mihalo

Perfect fragrance.
But I'm little disappointed from no compliments, but I will see maybe forward days/months.

MehmetAlk

My #5 perfume. Delicious, gourmand, seductive. It brings your nose to orgasm with a striking opening and gradually loses its power and becomes calmer. It's at its peak of spice scent but also delicious. Olivier Polge's masterpiece. Definitely suitable for use in winter and autumn.
My score is 9.63/10.

Nikotee

Before you read more about MY, and I repeat, MY review, I want to remember yall, this is just my opinion n how my nose and my skin perceives it.
For me, this is a very very linear fragrance, synthetic, medicinal and with practically the same aroma from start to finish. Being brutally honest, this is like a piece of shit, covered with peper and with a rose inside it. I kinda get the tobacco and leather notes, but I think they are not the stars in this frag. The cinnamon, to me, its non-existent.
This might sound really weird, but I like it even with the rare description I gave, the performance its just nice, 10-12 hours EASILY, because it can even get to a day, and if its not a windy day, it can surpass the shower, the first time I tried this, it lasted 12 hours with a shower in the half. The proyection its like a comfortant scent bubble, and for the price, it does its work.
7.4/10 (Performance makes it)

ckwashie

I've tried this in stores multiple times, and all times I have loved it. Performs for 8hrs, smells sweet and spicy, but light enough to wear day and night. So I was confident enough to get a bottle, and now? I'm very disappointed and confused. The performance is now weak (3-4 hrs), the scent is weaker, and I don't get any projection. I checked the batch code and it's legit, so I just don't know why it's so weak. I guess I'll let it macerate in my drawer for a while and see if it gets any better. I'm still kinda new to fragrances, so if anyone has any tips to fix the performance, please let me know.

EDIT: After wearing it consistently this past month, I realized the problem wasn't the cologne, it was me. I realized that:
- If the smell disappears after a couple hours, its still there, you just gotta get moving to kinda reactivate it. I workout right after school and the smell comes back.
- In my experience, it's okay to spray a lot of this, the projection isn't strong enough to become offensive if you do. I used to do five sprays, but once I started doing seven (add 1 spray to each side of the base of my neck), I noticed I could smell it longer. You could even do a couple sprays on your clothes and you should still be good.

BackToTheEighties

Absolutely love the smell, hate the performance. In 2012 the performance was good, in 2023/2024 it is disappointing. Too bad, not worth buying anymore :(

smokysweetangel

Love this. Spicebomb smells like the year 2012, concrete floors, minimalism, the main character in futuristic science fiction films. Projection and longevity are great (bought it today so I think it’s a recent batch)

Mig781

Spicebomb by Viktor & Rolf.
Warm spicy, tobacco and cinnamon. Oh... I just love everything about it.

wldnml

I loved the smell, but performance was around average at max on my skin.

Hugh-Jass123

Spicebomb.

Spicebomb dosent get the recognition it deserves because of Spicebomb extreme, one of the most popular mens colognes. Spicebomb is classy and sophisticated. Smells like winter in a bottle. That classic warm spicy and tobacco feel you want from a winter fragrance. The smell is easily a 10/10 for me but the projection and longevity is where the fragrance lacks and the extreme version thrives. There is little to no projection after 15 minutes it becomes a skin scent and longevity wise it’s ok with 7 hours but for a winter fragrance I expected a bit more especially after getting my hopes up with great smell but I don’t mind.

Smell: (10/10)
Projection: (5/10)
Longevity: (7/10)
Overall: (8/10)

I love this fragrance.

OAKESKINEN

A nice fragrance. Little sweetness and warm spicyness that reminds me of February. Would wear but not a must have for me.

MrMrBrian

There is no getting around this I bought a gift set at Macy’s when I was super young and again the next year & have always had it around ever since. And being there's days here in the cold Texas winters I’ll use the shower gel that is potent as all get out! & Use the aftershave balm after shaving. & Even reach in there for the Deoderant stick & watch the complements fly like they always have and always still do!! I’d really like to get my hands on the O Fraishe or fresh version But this one….Some seem to have forgotten about…Not me!!

Jakw0

I have smelt the majority of the spicebomb line and this continues to be my favourite! It has an extremely warm and spicy smell, being fruity and also serious at the same time. I have been wearing this fragrance since 2017 and mainly wear it throughout the colder months, the performance is amazing! Longevity is great and the projection is also really good. I have gotten so many compliments wearing this fragrance, the ladies do love it! Overall I give this fragrance a 9/10.

fredjoan123

Got my bottle last week and all I can say is WOW. I love this fragrance. the tobacco the spices. UFFF. The only problem with this is durability. it gets to skin scent in 1 hour. but I have a trick with this. get your bottle in your backpack and spray this 1 minute before showing up. men that opening is just wow. oh and second trick. Spray super close to your skin.

My grandma gave me the candle of this scent for Christmas. Reminds me of the cinnamon-flavored gum. Spicy and sweet yet cozy and soft for the winter.

Bledon

The "smother " version of spice bomb extreme one of the best freg ever i absolutly love both of them

NorthByNorthEast

I don't know what to make of this. Sprayed it on and all I could smell was Christmas cake, Christmas pudding, Christmas candle, and those festive hand soaps some people use. As it dried down, it became a bit better as woody notes came out and it softened, but stayed pretty much the same. But other people say they love it. I like the scent itself, just not as something I'd readily wear. Maybe for very specific occasions or to scent something else.

PARIS, MID-SPRING, 9:00 AM - THE CULPRIT FOR THE PYRAMIDAL ADMIRATION INTERRUPTION

The day was one of those when it was no longer Winter, but the cool morning air came in through the few forgotten buttons loosened on my clothes.
I left my hotel in "Rue de Rivoli" and strolled towards the Concorde without any precise destination in my mind, only to enter the "Jardin des Tuileries" probably attracted by the freezing wind and the burst of the garden light that succeeded to the sombre sidewalks from the "Rue de Rivoli" bordering the Louvre.
While the cold was getting into my clothes, I was patiently losing my warmth while a citrus and red pepper scent was spreading around me.
Strolling through the park, Paris sprinkled moist generously, a consequence of night dew that was formed during the icy night. Around me, the air was impregnated by the exotic aroma of acrid and sweet spices, as well as by a damp, moist alluring tobacco scent. Women dressed in black passed fleetingly on the streets looking at me lightly. Yes, they seemed to look at me, but in reality, they looked through me wondering where was coming from the the cinnamon and the red pepper wave that hung in the air.
Slowly the aroma became more sweet and seductive. The scent did not match neither my "Caterpillar" boots, nor my loose jeans and leather jacket, nor even the broken scarf around my neck. Fearless pigeons fluttered about me as if there were crumbs of cinnamon cake around to fill their gizzards... stupid birds... they do not know what perfume is.
Next to the Louvre the tourists were lazily sitting, not aware of the time, contemplating the glass pyramid. From time to time they were distracted by a lingering imaginary scent of "gaufrettes" with cinnamon and sugar. The scent of cinnamon mingled with that of soft leather, led them to stare at my jacket as if it was the culprit for the pyramidal admiration interruption... well it probably was...
I also sat down because I kept my eyes fixed on the pyramid's regal majesty, statically pointing to the blue sky. I continued amusingly and lazily sitting on the stone bench and staring at the pedestrian traffic around me. My attention turned to the near passing-by ones. They sought the source of the alluring smell of sweet tobacco, or yummy cinnamon candies, or perhaps even spicy sugar snacks. Invariably, the stares stopped at me and then they continued on their way. A pretty brunette turned back twice as if to confirm something in me... She gave me a look that seemed as if she knew me and then continued toward the "Arc du Carrousel".
Two pesky little girls played and jumped around my seat. "¿A qué estás oliendo?" One of them asked without shame. And then she added, "¡Usted esta oliendo mejor que mi papá!".
Slowly, as if carrying the splendour of the square on my back, I began to walk again, crossing the garden towards "Rue de Rivoli" and planning a breakfast in "Les salons de thé de la Maison Angelina." I longed to prolong my spicy, greedy fragrance with the dazzling scent of Angeline's magnificent delicacies.
How nice it is to be in the Tuileries at nine o'clock in the morning and wearing Spicebomb ...
Let's confirm my opinion with the Spicebomb math:
________ _________
Scent Opening: 9.5 (my judgement; 1/2 point taken for the initial alcohol burst)
Scent Dry Down: 10.0 (my judgement)
Longevity: 8.0 (8 hours with three sprays)
Sillage: 8.0 (8 feet projection at its peak, with 3 sprays)
Uniqueness: 8.0 (I praise Man in Black as much as I praise Spicebomb. They are very similar but not really a clone of each other. Some reviewers claim that fragrances like Insurrection II Dark, 1899 or Spicebomb flankers are very much alike. Well, I opinion that there is a visible amount of individuality in each of them)
Compliments: 9.5 (It's a serious compliment grabber)
Wearability: 7.5 (Use it day or night during Winter and Fall; You may experiment with it as well in Spring colder days and nights)
Versatility: 7.0 (Don't abuse it as a day scent. Don't use it in the office. Avoid using it in the beach, sunny events and workouts.)
Quality: 9.5 (my judgement)
Presentation: 7.5 (imaginative flask although I don't appreciate it very much)
Price: 7.0 (90 ml tester for € 46 + shipping)
________ _________
Overall rating: 8.32/10.00
- between 7 and 8 =above average;
- between 8 and 9 = recommended;
- bigger than 9 = don't miss it;
I recommend this fragrance in Paris and a million other places.

Well as many times happen before original is the best from the line
This is better than extreme ..??
P.S Extreme is really lovely cozzy fragrance i like it a lot !! but its not quite a "spicebomb " it is spicy a lot but ...
OG has far more power ..more fun , if you are still young or feel young try this first !

certifiedborderhopper

yummy

EbagAppez

This is still my favorite from the line after all these years and many flankers later. I just recently purchased a current bottle, and it still performs very well and smells great!

khungpao

I realized I prefer fresh spicy than sweet spicy. This one is a sweet spicy fragrance, initial scent is okay but the dry down is really good. The dry down scent is it's saving grace. Another downside was the terrible performance, lasts only for a few hours then nothing. Good thing I got it at a cheaper price and I quite like the bottle design. I'm expecting a lot better from Viktor & Rolf. Overall, I'm a bit disappointed on this one. 7/10

someone.fa

I dislike the opening of this fragrance due to the spices but the dry down is really pleasant reminds me a bit of Dior homme intense

Fiery, Engaging, and Sensual
What makes the perfect fragrance? It all depends on the season and your mood that day. No matter what your sensory preferences are, just remember that the perfect fragrance simply doesn’t exist: some don’t suit your personality, and the one you like might also depend on the season, the atmosphere and the mood you feel at that time. The fragrance that drives you foolish one day might also annoy you the next. This is why we have to experiment and try a fragrance several times that may seem banal the first time. It’s part of the fun to experiment with different fragrances - don’t be afraid to try something new.

Today I want to review Spicebomb, a fragrance that is on the border between the oriental, golden amber, and spicy-woody families. The name is appropriate, it doesn’t lie, and it is the spicy cologne that everyone should try at least once; the spiciness that the name suggests is most prominent in the opening. An extraordinary fragrance that has intrigued me since its launch in 2012, often described as “fiery”, “engaging” and “sensual”. The master perfumer blends warm spices with sweet resins, balanced by notes of leather and tobacco so that the scent is never too heavy or prone to a dominant accord.

At the beginning, it is full of spices, and pink pepper, in profusion, one of my absolute favorite notes even in cooking. As soon as you spray it you are hit with the spicy notes and they are really nice. The freshness of citrus fruits broadens the spiciness, so the aroma is similar to the seasoning used for many dishes, a mix of citrus juice and pepper. A pinch of grapefruit bitterness, which is not too sulphurous, is combined with a dusty and brilliant bergamot, and the result is exceptional. Spices abound, but it’s not a fiery, pungent fragrance like Potion EAU DE PARFUM. I’m pretty sure a hint of resin is part of the top notes. I get the same sticky, resinous vibe as Stone for Him, which features elemi resin, although here in Spicebomb it’s not as sweet as in Stone, which often annoys me a bit and gives me a bit of a headache. The smell of balmy Elemi is unmistakable, and I swear I can smell it in Spicebomb too. In the midst of this mass of important spices, it is difficult for me to distinguish the pungent notes of chili pepper, or paprika, while the sparkling pink pepper emerges strong and clear.

It takes a few minutes for the warm spices to shine, creating an enveloping, familiar sensation. The fragrance must blend with warm skin to release the sweet notes of cinnamon, juxtaposed with the medicinal and leathery facets of saffron. Now the pungent pepper and sweet cinnamon intertwine. The leather comes in, very lightly in the centre, adding softness and character to this essence. Saffron is quite evident during the middle act, which is good, as it is a highly underrated note. However, it remains closer to the floral notes, without showing that sometimes too bitter and dark side. The accord that most characterizes the middle phase is a spicy powdery one.

After the peppery shimmer of the top notes, Spicebomb enters gentle territory with its rich sweetness of pipe tobacco, dark woods and spicy leather. The medicinal warmth of saffron forms the backdrop to the musk on which the sweet morello cherry notes of tobacco unfold. It dries down to have a sweet cinnamon aroma with a little mix of tobacco and leather, very similar to suede and no raw or rough edges. The balance is great, it’s not overpowering, but at the same time, it’s still a heavy-hitting scent. With unusual touches of elemi and saffron, Spicebomb never enters the true land of amber. Towards the end, the slightly metallic vetiver becomes more prominent but does not overpower the other notes, rather, it blends with the slightly smoky leather, sweet pipe tobacco and welcoming vanilla. Everything is warm, soft, tender and very easy to enjoy. Whatever spicy accord was present in the beginning has almost vanished, leaving only the faintest hint of cinnamon to compete with all that vanilla, leather and warmth like a warm embrace.

Spicebomb is a very well-blended, warm and wonderful scent. When I wear it I can’t stop smelling my wrists! Slightly musky, the kind of smell I like to smell on men’s skin. Good longevity, the projection is decent, and it’s strong enough to be noticed, but without being overbearing. Perfect for winter, but could also work in late autumn, so warm and spicy. It’s quite rich, so I would probably only wear it when going out to dinner or other evening and night-time occasions; it may be difficult to wear every day, but for special occasions, lunches, and other daytime social events might turn out to be a surprise. It is a fragrance that leaves a memorable impression on both the wearer and surrounding people.

I have waited a long, long time to talk about all the beautiful nuances that this perfume offers, which I have owned since February 2019.

Pat_Fragrance

Just bought my first Spicebomb and I`m so disappointed with performance. Projection is good for maybe the first hour, then its hard to recognize you are wearing it. Really love the scent but next time I will go for Extreme version or something else.

Bandini2503

Si.
Me dolería el codo? Definitivamente. (Solo por el rendimiento)

amnebe

This fragrance is just gorgeous. It starts out a little strong for the first couple of minutes, so I was worried I was going to hate it, but then it softens into an amazing vanilla leather with a twinge of caramel and winter spices like cinnamon. The leather makes it smell slightly more masculine, but I think it easily fits into the unisex genre of fragrances. I feel like both Flowerbomb and Spicebomb are poorly named because neither one has an overwhelming amount of the ingredient you expect to accost your senses. Instead, like Flowerbomb, this one is very well mixed and pleasant. It's not likely to offend people, making it a good office scent.

MrByrd

Purchased this in 2012 when first released. Got another bottle a few weeks ago and whilst several years have passed between owning the two bottles I can distinctly remember the original one being better performing. Almost nuclear in comparison.

Regardless of performance, this is still a fantastic fragrance and imo the best in the line.

5L4MM3R

Potpurri, a scented candle and even a clean bathroom.
Thats the way women have described it to me, and I do understand that.

At first whiff, it smells really spicy and piercing through the air.
But it quickly settles down to something comforting and... pleasant.
Thats what it is. Safe and pleasant.
Its good, but I feel something is missing.

People wont complain about it, as its good, but it's lacking that little extra to be a head turner.
Its a perfectly safe fragrance for the colder months.

---

It's a B-Tier Fragrance, but it's extremely comfortable wearing.

I do feel some similarities with Musc Ravageur and even Tobacco Vanille.
Might have to do a comparison on the street to see which one people prefer.

samudex

It is definitely sweet and spicy, like star anise or cloves. Grapefruit and pink pepper are more in the middle. I would not call it a bomb.

Zenith Corvus

This is a very impressive and distinct fragrance. An intriguing formula that provides a man with a sense of sophistication, charisma, and well-deserved respect.

The opening is… explosive. The scent of black pepper and warm spices really penetrates your nose. Very pungent! There’s a reason why it’s called ‘spicebomb’.

But not to worry. The pepper smell starts to settle down a bit during the drydown. As a result, the fragrance becomes milder and more pleasant; slightly sweet while still maintaining its spicy DNA. In fact, after a few hours, you start to notice more of the cinnamon note.

It's best to wear this fragrance at night, but it might work as a daytime fragrance as well. Ideal for autumn and winter.

I fail to see the comparison with BVLGARI Man In Black. The DNA might be similar in some subtle way, but the two fragrances are very different in my opinion. Man In Black is more boozy and vanilla-like while Spicebomb is more spicy and cinnamon-like.

Overall, great performance! A long-lasting fragrance with a good sillage. A true compliment getter, without a doubt.

saab

Not too bad fragrance but not good either. Smells like straight up black pepper with hints of cinnamon and booze. Its not bad, I could see myself wearing it. But in close spaces, this just straight up sucks. From arms length away its good but when your up close with someone, its just like cutting a onion. 5.5/10

smellsbells

WOW..I COMPARED this to my 2 2013/2014 bottles and its so diff and weak compared to the original stuff...sad....

Takamojo

Beautiful spicy opening and a sweet slightly warm drydown. It's perfect for a colder day. I wish it stayed spicier and lasted for a little longer. But hey, that's what Spicebomb Extreme is for right? 😉
My only warning is pricing. Be careful where you purchase this spicebomb from because some charge WAY too high. Do some research before you pull the trigger.

Edit: found my receipt, I paid $92 for the 1.7 oz (50ml)... went online the next day, found it for $47 - $65 for the 3.4 oz (100 ml) pretty much everywhere online
All i said was "🙄 FFS" in sheer disappointment

Scent: 7/10
Performance: 6/10
Value: 8/10 (after discovering better prices)
Overall: 21/30

garlic

It' been 10 years since I got my bottle of Spicebomb.
I only use it for determinate ocassions during winter. And let me tell you, it blows away all the modern stuff. This is, in my opinion, the best fragrance in it's genre.

maidenhead

straight up one of the most interesting scents i've ever tried in my life. i'm a lesbian but if i smelled a man wearing this i would want to go up and meet him.

AquaRegia

Viktor & Rolf's Spicebomb is truly a masterpiece, capturing the essence of a crisp autumn evening in a bottle. This scent exudes masculinity with its warm and inviting blend of spices like peppers and cinnamon, anchored by a base of tobacco and leather. It elevates the presence of the wearer, igniting the senses of those around him and taking them on a pleasing olfactory journey.

The iconic grenade-shaped bottle and the explosive name accurately reflect the powerful and spicy character of this fragrance, all while maintaining charm and sophistication. Spicebomb projects strongly and lasts remarkably long, a testament to its high-quality ingredients that suit a mature and well-dressed man.

Despite its higher price point, only a few sprays are needed to leave a memorably cozy impact, making it a worthwhile investment. Leaning slightly sweet, it's an excellent choice for a younger man looking to make a flirty impression at a winter nightclub, or for a tuxedo-clad gentleman casting an enigmatic aura during a formal dinner party.

lmnsvgz

I NEED THIS FOR WINTER. It's so unisex. It is similar to Rehab indeed - barely notice the difference, the other one is maybe creamier with lavender which I cannot smell here. But damn, it is a beautiful perfume. It's like cool wamrth, the warmest winter jacket but in the most elegant, sleek style.

LOVE

Jdubb0

This is a masterpiece. At the start, it's heavy on spice and pink pepper (one of my favorite notes ever), and it dries down to have a sweet cinnamon aroma with a little mix of tobacco and leather. It's a very well-blended, warm, beautiful smell, when I wear it I can't stop sniffing my wrists! Good longevity, projection is decent. Perfect for the winter and Christmas of course, but could also work in fall. It's quite rich, so I'd probably only wear it when going out for dinner or other occasions; it might be tricky to wear every day. I'll definitely have to try out the other Spicebombs, but for now this one is my favorite. I would give it a 9/10 overall.

felopian kid

I blind bought it. I honestly expected something else from the fragrance named Spice Bomb. To me it doesn't really smell spicy. More like dry, clean, powdery. I very much enjoy it though. Reminds me of the freshly ironed laundry. It has an elegant feel to it. I'm going to wear it a lot this fall-winter season.

Longevity wise there is nothing I could complain about. Easily lasts full day in the office.
The bottle is really cool.

Allybabaa

like this one the best out of the line. even better than the extreme version (which a lot of people seem to prefer). This one smells more masculine and well rounded to me. The extreme version smells like a cinnamon bomb.

god-infected

After realising that this smells better on my skin than a man I used to see for a short period of time, I bought the bottle for myself. I feel like I'm the only woman that uses this but I believe it creates a wonderful enigmatic aura combined with my tiny frame.

Naturally my biggest concern was the fear that the scent might get associated with the certain somebody and I would hate it, fortunately the scent is so good that it overpowers everything, so naturally doesn't even bother me some dull man used this when I was with him, this is not to degrade his personality, as a human being he was just an average male but (my opinion) this perfume is soo good that it has more personality than an average male (but beware that this was a short frisson, and I cared little about him, it'd be difficult to wear the perfume of a past beloved)

The first spray is a fan aggressively opening in an air-conditioned Lebanese spice store. It's cold yet warm, then something amazing happens it subdues down, apparently the shop had a secret door opening to that Arabian dance scene in The Nutcracker, you're a dancer amongst others aware of the audience, and aware this is the pov of the western world, the year is 1956 and your lover is amongst the audience as well... it's a secret, it's much more beautiful because it's a secret... at the end of your show you run into him at the dark street next to theatre... a kiss or two before you head up to his terrace apartment, someone is smoking shisha downstairs, he makes saffron tea for you after making love to you the whole night.

Dcarlo

I can’t believe that I didn’t review this after 10 years of having a bottle, that by the way smells like on the first day.
Spicebomb is as it says very spicy but not overwhelming. The notes are very well balanced and it’s hard no to like it.
I get mainly pepper, cinnamon, leather, tobacco and a subtle vanilla.
It last more than 6 hours but the trail is very weak. Well, that’s a good thing because you can wear it to the office without being too loud.
Spicebomb was a true trendsetter and that’s why I considered adding it to my wardrobe.
The perfect match is Extreme for cold weather and nighttime.
Awesome compliment getters!

Oough

Smells like Christmas :)

jakerei

This may just be the strongest EDT formulation I’ve ever tried. I could smell this stuff on my wrist over 12 hours after I sprayed it on. Crazy.

Really great scent; very sweet, almost fruity/floral vanilla complimented by some nice spicy notes. I personally wish that there was less focus on the vanilla and more focus on the spicy accords here, but its still a really pleasant winter fragrance.

Ikerus

This is what I imagine an Old Fashioned would smell like without the booze. The citrus (orange is what comes to mind) takes center stage on my skin, but it's not fresh (I tend to dislike citrus on my skin) but rather warm and inviting because of the strong cinnamon and soft leather and tobacco. This stays linear throughout; the only difference is the dry down when the citrus softens up and sits on the same level as the rest of the notes, making it a very cozy scent (the kind that makes you want to snuggle up with fuzzy, soft laundry right out of the dryer). Still, even with the sweetness of the orange, the cinnamon and pepper are very prominent, so if you are sensitive to spices, be aware that these are all up in your nose for the whole ride.

I often think how funny it is that this became my signature scent without intention. It had been about a decade since I last wore it (I fell for the ad campaign through GQ around the time it first released in 2012), and just last year, I was gifted a 150ml bottle for Christmas, courtesy of my father, who remembered I used to wear it a lot in my late teens. The moment I applied it after all these years, my wife asked what I was wearing because it reminded her of our dating days back in college. Even my best friend from high school felt the need to comment on it during one of our recent night outings where I wore it. This is a fragrance that sticks with people in the best way possible.

High-Water Mark of Tobacco-Vetiver Scents...
2012 Woody-Spicy Scent by Olivier Polge that opens with a burst of pink-pepper & citrus, held together by the pine-y balsamics of elemi, with warm-spicy, citrus, & aromatic tones. As it transitions to the heart, some sweetness emerges along with cinnamon accented by saffron. The base has a multi-faceted vetiver, with fruity, sweet, grassy, woody & dry tones, but the effect is a warm-spicy-sweet tobacco scent with leather & vetiver. Overall I get a tobacco-vetiver scent with some sweetness and the other notes serving to enhance the different facets of tobacco & vetiver. In the late drydown, there's a nice woodiness from the vetiver. Performance is slightly above average for year round wear, which improves with dark storage after the first sprays. Although it could be worn year round, the warm-spicy-sweet profile make this most appropriate for cooler weather. I've loved this scent from first sniff, and for me it's the high water mark of tobacco-vetiver scents. I would wear it myself if my son hadn't taken the bottle.

Contrast to 1899 Hemingway Histoires de Parfums:
These are different, but there are similarities with bergamot, cinnamon, vetiver, peppers & resins, as well as similar vibe of tobacco-vetiver. 1899 Hemingway has more forward juniper note & iris notes, along with a nearly green, fresh-spicy accord. Roughly equivalent performance or slightly better for 1899 Hemingway.

Contrast to Spice & Black Vanilla Cremo:
These are different, but Spice & Black Vanilla is inspired by Spicebomb although not an exact dupe. The openings are quite similar, and there is a similar vibe of tobacco-vetiver, but Spice & Black Vanilla acquires more vanilla the longer it's on the skin, and has a cashmeran note in the late drydown. Roughly equivalent performance.

Overall: gorgeous tobacco-vetiver scent with some sweetness, and well above average performance. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

PsylanTheCologneMan

Hot take but I like this more than extreme. Not a fan of extremes opening, but I love everything about this one. One of my favs in my collection

goodchat

I don't care if this is a cologne, I wear this every fall and winter and I love it. If you're a female wearing this with confidence, you will turn heads. It's spicy, tobacco, leathery goodness. Super sexy with great wear time.

kbro4897

Somewhat unremarkable by itself, but pair it with Montale Chocolate Greedy, and you really have something great. My wife said this might be her favorite?? This is a review of the two paired together.
Completely overwhelming for the first 10-15 minutes...whoa. But then, as it dries down and melds together, it becomes a spicy chocolate gourmand bomb. Not really any surprises here, you can smell spicebomb and you can smell chocolate greedy, both are fairly linear and work beautifully together. I don't think I would buy either by themselves, but together they make seasonal magic.

Perkperfumer

Cinnamon spice, almost like a sweet latte from Starbucks. Very nice oriental frag, played very safe and crowd pleasing as hell. Just linear and pretty boring

Kratosfr

A masterpiece fragrance but it feels like you need to take breaks from wearing it otherwise it gets too harsh and nauseating.

zman1

I bought the 100ml a few weeks ago. This is without a doubt the best spicebomb of the bunch. It's rare a fragrance has me smelling my wrist throughout the day but this one did. Great performer and compliments. I took a point off because although I love it, I needed to spray it on my back. I tried the front of my neck and the spices irritated my nose.

bdgarver

Best cool/cold weather fragrance that I own to this day. Started my journey in the hobby of hoarding fragrances. Smells like fall spices mixed with citrus and soft tobacco and a dose of vetiver and saffron. Very masculine and has a long reach for first few hours after applying. It’s rather linear throughout and mid notes are always present. Both myself and my wife like this better than extreme. In fact this is her favorite of all my 40+ collection. Vanilla is present but not overwhelming as in the extreme version and the OG is not as sweet making it much more versatile as well. Lasts for around 7 hours until it goes to skin scent. Best for fall and winter, day or night. It’s the coziest scent you can find and makes me feel warmer just smelling like it. One of the most unique art worthy designer fragrances you will find. One of the best releases of my time with mens fragrances. Perhaps alittle dated now but will always be in my collection and gets used plenty.
9/10 overall

ali_minaj

i like this one more then Extreme version of this.. because extreme version have Vanila in it.. and it makes it more basic.. but Extreme version is really do last longer.

Whateverwhocares

Somewhere between a 🙂 and a 😍. Pepper, cinnamon and tobacco wrapped neatly in smooth leather, covered in mild saffron. Smooth blend. Classic and original.

miles178

from designer range, simply classic worth havin´ a bottle! love it

ollimolli

smells like just pepper and cinnamon, nothing else. very boring scent. radiates really little after an hour. I can't recommend it and I don't understand the hype.

the fact that if you smell just like pepper, which even after an hour no one can smell, this can't be a compliment getter

ariej2010

Wow! I gifted Spice Bomb to my husband for Christmas, he had a sample and we both liked it, but once we got him the bottle and he started wearing it. It is so delicious, it is so strong yet non offensive. It is like entering a bakery where there are lots of spices. It is in the name, Spice Bomb. And all your gourmand senses will explode.

joeyplace

my favorite of the line very similar to herod spicier and stuff but perfect tobacoo spicy scent with just enoigh calming sweetness

PaulFgr

One of my first fragrances, I was gifted it and it instantly became my signature scent.
A girl once asked me what was I wearing so that she could buy the same one to her boyfriend.
Even if I found fragrances better or as good at it, I will always rebuy it. I have bought like 5-6 90ml bottles.

paulskez

There must be batch variations with this one, not just reformulations. I’ve had 5-6 bottles since release. Yes I thought they’d weakened it as it didn’t seem quite as potent as the 2012-2014 bottles. But just bout a 150ml bottle from 2022, this is back to being a beast on me. Clings to my skin again, lasts 10hrs and days on clothes. And projects pretty loudly for about 4hrs! Maybe I got lucky with this batch.
As for the scent, my favourite ever. Signature scent worthy.

Can I smell this?

This. Is funny, I purchased this for me, but my so and I were at Sephora and he was like. “I like this”. I said “you Really need to look on my self it is there, and help your self.” Needless to say, this is great on both of us. It fades away on me quickly. Though on him, it keeps the cinnamon and something else I cannot place puurrrr…

yacoco

Am sure there tonka

Strawberrykitty

Tldr: Easy reach, spicy and slightly sweet aromatic. Great for gifting.

Woman here. This was my first fragrance and holds a special place in my heart. The year is 2016. My mom bought this for my dad for Christmas, but he’s a quieter man and said that this doesn’t really fit him. Being the nosey 15 year old that I was, I sprayed this and immediately fell in love. My older brother and I actually battled it out for months to see who would get this after I made the mistake of letting him smell it. Grapefruit is one of my favorite fruits and you really pick up on that note in the opening. It’s not a loud grapefruit, but is gently cocooned by a smooth, mainly cinnamon and tobacco scent. The pink pepper tickles your nose in the opening too; this is actually the only fragrance with pink pepper that I enjoy, as La Vie Est Belle Intensement has a harsher blend. This is more aromatic than sweet in my opinion, but I can admit that it’s sweeter than some other male-marketed scents out there. Overall, this is a warming and cozy scent that is sure to make a lasting impression.

This was my signature scent until high school graduation — my dad purchased Riri by Rihanna for me and I would wear that with orange essential oil on occasion. I went to Sephora with my dad and brother to repurchase this before going off to college and decided to test Spicebomb Extreme. It was like the scene from Ratatouille with the cheese and strawberry. The heavy dose of vanilla in the extreme adds this gourmand quality to the Spicebomb dna, while still being aromatic. That was my signature for the first two years of college, and then Covid hit and I stopped wearing fragrance all together until deciding to see what all the fuss for female-marketed fragrances was about. Spicebomb and the Extreme definitely primed me for the type of unisex and “feminine” scents that I like, as I often layer something aromatic or earthy with the gourmands in my profile. I think someone who enjoys this scent profile would enjoy Flowerbomb Nectar or Dew by Viktor & Rolf if they’re looking for something that skews “feminine.” Maybe a good gift for a partner if you wear this or the extreme.

*I don’t use phrases like “male-marketed” and “female-marketed” to be “woke.” I simply try not to exclude others in my language by gendering or aging scented liquid. Violet is usually seen as an “old lady scent” because of the Victorian tradition, but a lot of female and male babies/children in Hispanic and Latino cultures smell like violets because of an old Spanish baptism tradition.

tdsmelbourne

I get a lot of similarities with this and Burberry London, however there is definitely more depth to Spicebomb. Zesty, fresh, warm, spicy. This is a seriously good fragrance.

williamsfragrances

The opening you get curry like smell but that quickly disappears, It's spicy and warm. I smell pink pepper, bergamot, cinnamon and a tobacco undertone. This fragrance sparked one of the best lines in perfumery. This is gonna be one of my favorites for a long time. 7.6/10

ScentKraken

This is one of my favorite cologne hands down. This is an unique scent but not offensive.

8.7/10

Thijssie2inches

Its a great scent, i suggest get the 20ml bottle, because 2/3 sprays and you are good to go. If you really like the dna go for the 50ml. Dont go for the 90ml because its just too much. Its pretty limited in the wearability imo

A western lowland gorilla

I've had this for half a year now and I gotta say it has to be has to be my favourite in my collection, though I am pretty new to fragrances. It has some really powerful projection and i get at least 8h or up to 12 before it becomes a skin scent. Maybe my batch was just really different but I don't agree with how other people descibe the scent. I don't really have trained nose and i have a hard time picking up individual notes but swear i smell a really prominent vanilla note in this. For me it smells like what people descibe what spicebomb extreme smells like. though i haven't smelled that fragrance so idk, i can't really compare the two.

Be conservative with how much you spray this fragrance, with a few sprays you can really fill up a room, I think I might have suffocated the classroom when using this last winter. One spray can be smelled from around 2m. An absolute BEAST of fragrance for sure, and the sweet smell is intoxicating, love it.

The value Is alright but not great, it is pretty unisex but leans more masculine. I really recomend the fragrance, go buy it.

Sweetboy05

Wow wow wow! I am absolutely in love with this stuff! It's sweet and spicy and powdery warm and cozy all at the same time!

ashroloie

Without a doubt it's fantastic smelling. Spicebomb, sauvage and Aventus the only mens fragrances to wow me into wanting to get them immediately in the last ten years. I just find spicebomb a bit restrictive to autumn and winter nights. It's not the most versatile fragrance around in the year and for the price you pay that does be a little annoying.

apon islam

I sniffed this GEM in a collection shop, and immediately fell in love with it.

Collected it after many years but it kept me knocking 😍
It has a peppery sharpness which will pierce through any sort of wind condition.
Spice and aromatic blends with freshness, which will definitely cheer up you anytime.
This smell stays long and will keep you uplifted rather than causing olfactory fatigue.

It has a clear and bold note of green wood apple ( Which is medicinal ), which is not listed.
Maybe the blend made the perfume smell like that.

Every perfume enthusiast should have it someday .

monsieur.moustache

Absolutely love this scent. The name says it all - this is an explosion of spice. Probably does work best in cooler temps, but this can undoubtedly be rocked in the summer as well.

10/10

LLdeduction

Considering that this is a spice dominant fragrance, I expected that it was going to be harsh and stinging. But WOW I was wrong, this stuff is beautifully blended and extremely smooth. There's even an airy quality to it, surprisingly, not cloying. Has a perfect amount of sweetness to it, probably can be seen as unisex.

It really is Christmas in a bottle. Great performance too.

ascended

The only full bottle of a warm spicy frag I've bought and I have never felt any need to buy any other.

I've asked a few girls' opinion on it, and they said it smells very manly and mature. I found that pretty interesting for a fragrance that's often described as "Christmas in a bottle".

ZeaMoore4

This is Christmas in a bottle, for me. Fenomenal fragrance for the Christmas side of the year, day or night. A clean 10/10. (I do not have Spicebomb Extreme yet, but I'm aware that most people prefere that one).

Emrahugras

I got this as a gift and I'm happy with it. My wife compliments me every time she smells it. Every day he compliments me is a great day for me. I think I will spare another bottle.

Kizzyb93

Ok so because of the name it really made me swerve this for so long I genuinely thought it would be exactly like old spice something my grandad used to wear.

I can confirm this is nothing like old spice 😂

I was on a little fragrance shop with my mate and he picked this one up he and said “ this is a guaranteed sh@g this weekend” I looked at him in absolute disgust.
Once we left the shop he sprayed this all over himself. And it was that moment I realised what he was on about . Obviously I did not admit to it because the absolute filthy look I gave him earlier in the day.
But what I did, there was when I got home I instantly go on the computer and ordered my partner a bottle of this!

Now that is here I can review it properly: this is warm and quite heavily sweet and leathery with a good touch of tobacco and spices /cinnamon. Although it’s not listed I get abit of f a toffee in this drydown also……
The projection is very bold also
I think this would be fantastic for the cold weather

Although I love wearing men’s fragrance I think I wouldn’t personally wear this as I think my partner pulls this off perfectly and when I have tried to wear , it just didn’t hit the same way…..
Absolutely stunning men’s fragrance! X

Icarel

This perfume is a total success: the name, the juice, the performance and the bottle are coherent and fit together. Big 10/10. It lives up to its name, it is an explosion of spices: Cinnamon and Saffran amplify the black pepper, and the Vetiver comes to refresh the whole composition making it a punchy fresh and tonic juice. The OG of the line is casual and tickles the nose with its cool but powerful juice. For lovers of spicy scents, this is a must-have and a flawless perfume. Incredible staying power and sillage; people will notice you with this one and remember you. Sticks in the olfactory memory for sure! Very versatile, it can be worn all year round and for all types of occasions as it is more of a signature scent IMO.

Lgapafto

This is the best perfume I've smelt. It is so good that a sniff makes me orgasm.

B O O M !

Stunning autumn/winter enhancer.

Future classic.

Never fails to blow me away.

newbie-in-frag(ame)

Hi everyone, I’m newbie, and I’m an addict. It started recently; I didn’t even see it coming. The first time I tried it, well, it wasn’t even that good: I couldn’t figure it out and felt pretty okay, really. Now I cannot seem to stop. It’s like everyday! I’m even contemplating purchasing more!

Apache1830

Vanilla / Pepper / Tobacco on my nose

I love it !

It smells a bit like a "fresh out of shower" woman, in a good way

But the one I tried is a bit weak unfortunately

8.5/10

Dadablacksheep1

Ever since I first smelled this at a Belk I've been loving it. Just bought the 5oz bottle and I glad I finally made the move and got it. I wonder if they will make an EDP off of the original dna? Two thumbs up on this creative, masterpiece.

aruney

Shocked there's no vanilla note listed; that's the main thing I smell on my skin. Makes you smell like a very masculine cinnamon roll.

xfactordc3116

One of my favorites. I like this one better that extreme. It’s more peppery, younger, playful, and less woody/incense. 20 to 40 age range. Has a beautiful mid note that I never can put a finger on, almost juicy. It’s a little pricy but justifiable. Performance on me is 6-8 hours. Moderate projection and sillage. Not a beast like it used to be. 6-8 sprays is usually what I go with. It is much better than Cremo, but Cremo is still a good fragrance. 9/10, 10/10 if performance was like the old batches.

XOXO_marcel

I agree with others who say this is similar to Bvlgari's Man in Black. Spicebomb is a bit sharper - it's not as smooth. It smells like a blend of heavy Christmas desserts, but the paprika really sticks out and is a bit screechy.
This might sound like an unfavorable review but I actually like it a lot. I recommend it if you can't get your hands on Man in Black, or if you like your fragrances to have an unexpected twist.

Brc86

The name describes it all: a true bomb of delicious spices. I had someone at work asking me what I was wearing - she bought it for her husband straightaway.

FloridaFragLover

Doesn’t perform well. Of course it’s been reformulated and also smells butchered. Shame

Lee257

Bought this on sale as a slightly used tester and very glad I did.
This is a loud spicy tobacco with hints of vetiver and lemon.
This fragrance screams "look at me" and then slaps people for doing so
This is NOT an office fragrance and WILL get you plenty of compliments

Hamza_Chaudry03

Smells just like its name. Call me crazy, but I kind of prefer this one to the Extreme. 10/10 fragrance!

stinkysteve33

I can't understand the reviews talking about good performance with this fragrance. This absolutely vanishes from my skin at exactly the two hour mark. Can't even smell a trace. Not sure if it's a batch problem or reformulation issue or what. The scent itself is great and I love it, but I couldn't justify spending any money on a fragrance that isn't even a skin scent after 2 hours.

epseja

The OG of the line, but not the best. Big hit of warm cinnamon and citrus up front that rounds out as it dries down, pushing the cinnamon and brighter notes aside to make room for the vetiver, pepper, leather, and perhaps a touch of vanilla. Lasting power could be better and final dry-down character could be a bit more complex -- which is mostly why I prefer the Extreme version.

mystcblue

Smells like Herod..

Olw

Although I like the smell here more, overall the EDP is more worth it. The performance is average, but the spicy sweet scent is awesome, it is somewhat fresh even. I’d say the grapefruit and bergamot make it way more fresh then in the EDP.

beta-ionone

Artificial cinnamon potpourri scent that dries down into a generic spicy men's shower gel fragrance. Not bad. I'm glad I didn't blind buy it because I think it would have been too spicy for my boyfriend and there's others that don't have that strong yet fleeting spiciness. Maybe I have to actually buy it and have him wear it to see if I like it. 🤔

StrawberriesAndCream

Smelled like gingerbread on my skin 🫢 Brings back memories of Christmas

evertonnick3

Doesn’t smell like Herod. Good fragrance though.

ShaunMichael

Smells like Herod

djigoio

This one you have to try it on skin before you buy it. I got 90% pink pepper while testing it on paper.

On skin, for me it developed at specified here. A bunch of pink pepper that went into the background when it dried, making tobacco and cinnamon the main stars.

For me is one of these scents that you don't really say wow I need it, but I'd love to have it in my collection because it works just great. Good smell, different from the competition, decent projection and good longevity + cheap. Has it all

Also, nowhere near to Bvlgari MIB as stated above. The extreme version is this one + a lot of spices at the beginning, which for me gives kind of a vibe of 20+ nightclub scent. This one feels more mature. 100% unisex imo

anthony503m

Currently wearing this for the winter and I LOVE this smell. It has some kind of note that blows my mind, kind of like the female perfume Flower Bomb, but for men. My only regret is not getting the Spice Bomb Extreme since that lasts way longer, I usually get the eau de parfum since they last up to 12 hours or longer. Read the reviews for both before you buy, but you will not be disappointed with this purchase if you like the notes in it.

FRAGLORD3000

smells incredible i want it just to sniff and packaging v cool

Rory75

I don't think I'll be alone in saying that this perfume drives the ladies mad! Gotten so many compliments with this. Spicy, sexy and great to wear for cold nights out

Youlerie

The citrus, which runs through the whole course of the fragrance, doesn't harmonize well with the spice of this otherwise pleasant cinnamon bomb.

ssiittyyuu

Now this is such a unique scent! I really love the drydown, but the opening is a bit harsh and nauseating. This is a really warm and spicy scent with a challenging scent profile. After using it a while, I need to understand that, we can’t get along. I can see what this scent can offer, but for me it too much. Leather with paprika is a combination, what I don’t like in it. Love the quality of the presentation, this handgrenade shaped bottle is really a spicebomb.

Zeusy

Was my go to for nights out in my 20s 9-10 years ago.... Loads of compliments. Lasted ages.

Doenst perform as well on me now I'm closer to 40. Still a banging smell though and will always have it in my collection. Wife's favourite

Need to try the others in the line...

AnotherFragBoy

Victor & Rolf became highly esteemed in my eyes after Spicebomb, so much so that I bought Flowerbomb and Bon Bon. (I am 30+ year old family man who has very little to no respect for gender assignment in fragrances, even though I only wore Bon Bon once.)
Anyhow, those who know it, know it - the Spicebomb of early 2016 and before was the greatest perfume of ALL TIME! This new age reformulation is garbage. It hurt me so bad, I never reached out for any of the flankers.
I've owned 5 bottles of this juice! Five! I currently have two in my possession. A vintage bottle I sniffed out on eBay and this modern failure.
The older scent is indescribable! It's almost hypnotising! And it compels even the most introverted, shy, reserved, anti-social person to muster up the courage to give a compliment.
That is the truth.

whitekid3

god dang it, is this an amazing scent ... the opening and dry down of cinnamon spice is superbly done .... i bought cremo black vanilla and spice because it was compared to spicebomb... although, there are similarities the harshness of the opening of cremo is disgusting... so much that i gave it away after just a couple of wears ... but Spicebomb is the real deal, smooth all the way ... unfortunately, my bottle arrived leaking and missing quite a significant amount of juice and from what i've read online it's a very common occurrence ... other than that, i highly recommend... i will update after a few more wears

zyxsu

Mikokotti

The second i smelled this i fell in love. My favourite scent of all times for sure

Shaybeige

Spicebomb is still fantastic, just an amazing fall and winter scent. I see no issue wearing this in the daytime as I see many saying it should be reserved for the night.

An amazing spiced smell of sweet tobacco, cinnamon and saffron. My only issue lies with the performance, it sights close to the skin after about an hour and only stays about 2-3 hours total for me. Newer bottles don’t have that staying power it used to have. But I’ll just spray more, what a gorgeous scent.

I am considering getting a full bottle of Initio rehab though. It really does smell similar but I find rehab to project a little more

It_Stings_The_Nostrils

Spicebomb is one of the few sweet scents I absolutely adore!
At first spray, to my nose, I smell a very spicy type of cinnamon with a candy-like sweetness (reminds me a little of Big Red chewing gum).
The sweetness is still there but quickly falls into the background, where the spices, thankfully come forward and prevent this scent from leaning feminine.
Towards the dry down I can really smell the spice notes (Cinnamon, Pink Pepper, Paprika, Tobacco) blending very well together (smells like a freshly baked gingerbread cookie) which gives this scent a sexy masculine vibe.

mj13

The opening of OG Spicebomb will never get old to me, I love this fragrance its my go-to daily in the cold.

Boier Serafim

A fost printre primele care m-au introdus în lumea parfumurilor. E un parfum frumos și care își merită banii. E picant și aromat, plăcut de toată lumea.

narzissus

Fell in love with the it the second I smelled it when it freshly came out, bought it for my partner at the time but decided instead to keep it myself lol. A very sexy, spice scent, marketed as male but smells amazing on any gender. Wore it for going out for years but now can’t smell it anymore, but objectively still a phenomenal scent. Should however be worn with caution, one spray is ENOUGH, esp at the male crowd, please don‘t over-do it, it easily becomes a choke hazard, where with a single spray it is intriguing and very sexy. The bergamot and grapefruit mix wonderfully with the cinnamon and leather into a very spicy scent. Definitely for the evening.

burk

explosive opening with strong spices then calms down into a sweeter darker calmer masculiner scent. Havent tried sb extreme so i cant compare but this one is a little bit cheaper. Long lasting. Projecting, masculine. 9/10.

Honkymagoo

There is something in this perfume that makes me want to vomit and I'm not sure what it is. It's this weird synthetic sickly sweetness that just turns my stomach. I'm very close to liking this scent but I just can't seem to get past whatever that "thing" is... I'll keep experimenting with my decant but I highly doubt I would buy a full bottle.

ivanhoefragrances

at first, it’s not good, it’s too rough and almost rips your nostrils open. when it settles in after about 20 minutes you smell a beautiful sweet cinnamon. it lasts i would say 6-8 hours depending on weather and is a very great scent for projection. i do not like this scent a whole lot besides the sweetness of the cinnamon note but girls absolutely love this. buy this one, stay away from infrared at all costs, it smells like burnt rubber.

velvetvice

I'm really surprised there's no black pepper in this, which is mostly what I pick up.

Spicy fragrance with a sweet but not-too-sweet backbone.

It's somewhat fresh and transparent too, doesn't become overbearing.

I wonder what the other flankers are like, but this original one is really nice.

opusxpn

I really like the Spicebomb line. I have the edt the infrared and extreme. This one is the fresher of those 3, it shares very close dna to infrared but without the sweet fruity opening but you can tell it is still Spicebomb. The extreme I love but I can only really use it a couple of months out of the year and for specific occasions. The Spicebomb edt is great for everyday use spring, summer indoors and fall. The pepper, tobacco, cinnamon fresh scent is great. It is on the younger side of things but still enjoy it a lot.

Hasanhmd2

Sexy, spicy and strong winter fragrance. Recommend and yes you can wear it anywhere not only clubs 🤷♂️, longevity easy 7+ hours with moderate to high projection depends on sprays, my rating : smell 9/10 performance: 10/10, price 7.5/10 overall, 9/10

msinopoli78727

The dude below is talking about a club scent. Most of us aren't 20-something dickheads that party all night, so we don't need a "club scent". This stuff is gold, wear as you would any other cold-weather scent. It's pretty mass-appealing.

pilotdc

Has the best performance on me out of all its flankers. Meaning it has SOME projection and slightly above avg longevity.
The opening reminds me of cola but that dries down to something smoother yet still has subtle spices. It's nice.
Got my eye on other winter frags before I'd buy a bottle of this, though.

Speed

Smells good. Reminds me of the smell in a Dave and busters. I can’t describe that if you don’t know what I’m talking about

JKraemo

I got a tester of this and when I first tried it on my skin I was like: "yeah this is my dad's perfume" It smells good for sure, but I feel like this one is for the 30+ crowd, maybe it's just the connotation though

ReminiScent

All the flankers have their place. But this stuff, the original, is a 10/10 fragrance. There’s a reason even niche houses attempt to clone it. I understand why people love extreme more but for me if it was one or the other for life I’m taking the original every time.

doono

oooh I love it!
this is the only men perfume I own since it's that good.
I remember buying the flowerbomb and just discovering the brand really and as exploring I tried the spicebomb and dang. I think a year or two later I've bought my own bottle. for me it's only one to two sprays is more than enough. this is super strong and spicy. this lil guy here is the one to draw heads and people commenting on it immediately. I remember I was in a hotel, went down for a breakfast and this older man was there with his wife. as I'm getting into the dining room he just stops everything and starts to look for the source of the intense smell hahaha. well as for the smell itself~
super spicy and warm, I'd never ever dare to wear it on a hot weather. I feel like coming out of a ginger cookies factory after applying it and with time it becomes more Woody and smokey (more masculine notes at the base of it).
anyway, a lady on a look for something dominant and standoutish- a hit or two will seal the deal. especially when you want to feel warm.

HYLAS

Spicebomb launches with a blast of cool (you guessed it) spices. Aromatic, peppery and energetic, the fragrance dries down to reveal a fruity plum-like bubblegum note - I really don't know what this is, since the only fruits listed come from the citrus family. Fortunately this unexpectedly youthful and rather nostalgic candied aroma is balanced out by a darker, more adult leathery base.

Aromatic and warm in equal measure, to me Spicebomb can be summed up as plummy gummy spice. There is something sour deep in the base that I’m not such a fan of - possibly the tobacco - but this is subtle enough not to clash. For some reason I can detect gardenia in there somewhere, too? Perhaps it's my nose playing tricks on me.

While a little too fruity for me, Spicebomb is pleasant enough to understand its popularity, plus it lasts well for an ETD!

80s Joe

This is so nice! It's a very unique scent - I pick up slightly different nuances on every smell. So I saw every other YT reviewer going crazy about Extreme and I had gotten I think a 2ml a while ago of that one, which to be honest, was forgettable. But since that one, according to the reviewers, was pretty much the best frag out there, I decided to give it another try w/ a 5ml. Kind of as an afterthought I decided to also get a 5ml of the OG. OMG - the OG just blew me away! Lasts long, is so unique, spicey and unforgettable. I now own a full bottle along w/ a back-up bottle, of course. I've never smelled anything even slightly similar to this fragrance and I will probably continue to get back up bottles x10. I even love the color scheme of the bottle and juice, a black and olive mix. And bonus - it has a really good atomizer to boot! This one, I guess because it's not "new", can be found at a really great price point - win win!! If you like a unique, strong, spicy scent this is a must have!

ColoradoCouloir

With every single bottle of Spicebomb I’ve purchased the pin has gotten loose and made for a very fragrant box. I just received a new 150ml grenade today and it’s the same story.

I love this scent, and SBE too, but V&R really need to figure out how to better secure those pins for transit.

As for this OG, i will keep abusing it and going through bottles. And as much as I enjoy that spicy opening, it’s the really tobacco/leather/vetiver dry down that keeps me coming back. It has some addictive quality.

TripleA

Man I love this fragrance. In fact, its my favorite winter fragrance and I even prefer it over SpiceBomb Extreme. This is just an absolute masterpiece; beast performance and a high quality scent. It's not even that sweet, and I've worn this during the summer without an issue. I absolutely love the feeling it gives me.

Despite all of this, I just don't feel like it gets the attention that I expect it to get when I have it on, or at least nowhere near SB extreme. I still love it though its definitely a masterpiece as @Tacosalad mentioned. 10/10

Tacosalad

I am on my second bottle of this masterpiece and it still makes me feel as good as the day I found it way back when. It has a unique and warm feeling that is hard to find in designer mass market fragrances. Its the flannel shirt of perfumes. We all know what it smells like so I can skip the description. I like this better than extreme for the simple fact it’s more versatile and can be a work or day time scent if you don’t overspray it. It truly is one of my look forward to cold weather fragrances and I hate cold weather. If it was reformulated I can not tell difference in my new bottle. It’s a 9/10 for me and will always be a staple in my collection.

Update , new bottle longevity doesn’t match previous over 5 year old bottle but still smells the same to me. Maybe 4-6 hour instead of 6-8

hugoisl

If you want a Christmas fragrance, this is it. A kind of citrusy top note followed by a nice mix of your typical winter spices. In the base, you find a sweet, cozy mix of tobacco, leather and Vetiver. The perfect winter fragrance.

BigLongNose

Forget about this one. Just get spicebomb extreme as it’s a better version of this and fixes all the problems this one had
