Bought it blindly and very happy! To me it’s like in the opening Donna Og with added almonds vanilla creaminess in the base. Then after some time flowers become less prominent and creamy nutty base stands out more. It gives me Ysl Black Opium , Passegiata and even Spiga vibes.
Im really surprised with the rating, it deserves not less than 4 for sure, really likeable people pleasing scent.

Loliky

Más de 70 perfumes tengo, la mayoría bastante más caros que éste, pero éste és mi perfume estrella, creo que NO hay mejor aroma y más bien mezclado que ésto.
Me encanta ❣️

ArianaS

Absolutely every time I wear this, people stop me and asking me what perfume I use. I have way more expensive perfumes but this is the only one that people literally stop me on the street to ask me. Even two weeks ago I was asked in the airport by the girls from the checkout what perfume I’m wearing and they even wrote on their phone the name of the perfume.😂 I love this perfume but seems that people love it more. It’s sweet and “almondy”, creamy and cozy.

Rozalina

I had high hopes for this: I see notes of whipped cream, almond, and/or heliotrope- I buy. I've let this sit for about 6 months now, hoping this will delight me with its simple Italian elegance the way "My Name" by Trussardi did. Alas, this just smells like a vaguely sweet and rather artificial mishmash of fruity musks. It reminds me of a weaker, far less creamy version of This Is Her, which I can't stand.

>Happy Cat<

This was a successful blind buy at a good price. It is delicate, slightly sweet, slightly green, well blended cloud of whipped cream. I dont think it is gourmand though.
This is my go to sleep perfume, it gives me a calming hug.

Loliky

Me encanta!!!

I bought this blind firstly because I love Trussardi Donna and Donna Pink marina and this one has a similar bottle design. Secondly because it has whipped cream and chestnut in it that I was hoping would smell similar to This is her by Zadig and Voltaire. Well,it has nothing in common with This is her but I'm nevertheless in love with this perfume. Ow, and it has nothing to do with Donna (2011).
Edit: I've put it in my favorite list, it's absolutely gorgeous, that bottle will be empty in no time ❤️

Tirreni

I'm a staunch lover of gourmand perfumes and proud! I bought a sample of this because of the supposed-gourmand scent, especially as it said there are notes of green almond, whipped cream and chestnut. All I get though is indistinguishable fruit & flowers and patchouli, and it's extremely powdery and cloying on me. It smells just like every other perfume out there - nothing unique or easily identifiable about this. Such a shame. My search for true nutty gourmands continues!

miriamcarothers

This is generally too sweet and common for me during the daytime but when I spray it on before bed my husband always compliments how great I smell.

Suzuzi

This is one of my all time favorite perfumes!❤️
I got most compliments with this one...

UPDATE 9/13/23:
I continue to be impressed with this one. I wanted to add that I do get nuttiness from it now, like a creamy nuttiness - similar to that in This Is Her! actually, but this also has better projection/performance. And I get a nuts & fruit vibe from this, but in a creamy way. One of my favorite blind buys and I love reaching for this just to smell for myself even if I don't necessarily wear it fully.

ORIGINAL POST:
This fragrance is so good and criminally under-hyped! I just received it, along with a dozen other perfumes I ordered - some niche, some cheapie, and some indie ---> and this is a standout for sure.

I'm kinda getting a softened sweet tangerine/orange with florals. The orange isn't too tangy. This does have a creaminess to it. Not exactly to the lactonic extent, but it is "creamy"...

I don't feel 1 floral sticking out over the rest tbh, it's pretty well blended among the 3.

And I bought this fragrance for the nuts (almond & hazelnuts) and neither are jumping out. I imagine they may be adding to the creamy factor, as well as the sandalwood and whipped cream.... The fragrance is so nice that I am enjoying regardless of the nuts being super present or not.

The patchouli is not really noticeable in this... and I detect just enough sandalwood to give this perfume some body.

It's a love for me.

And for the price - I am very impressed. I have some $150+ bottles that aren't poppin as much as this one rught now 😒

KayLea23

This was a blind buy for me, as after reading the notes I thought it would be something I would like. And I do.

On first spray it was very warm spicy initially, but after a week of using it this seems to of settled. It now gives off a prada candy gloss vibe to me, in that I get a powdery cherry fragrance on my skin which then dries down into a creamy, slightly almond vanilla scent. Doesn't have the greatest spillage, but I can still smell it on my clothes the next day.

AlexaO22

Love this ! 💓

The opening is bright fruitiness. There's a bit of sweet, light citrus , but nothing sharp or screechy. 1-2 hours in, I get some powdery , almondy heliotrope. Every now and then I get a whiff of very faint florals, enough to give it some interest but not strong enough to distinguish any other particular floral notes. At around 2-3 hours, it turns into sweet, delicious creaminess and chestnuts. Takes me back to Paris, walking down it's beautiful streets, sipping the frothy milk off top of a cappuccino and eating a delicious marron glacé crêpe. 💕

Great sillage and longevity, which is the case with most Trussardi fragrances. On me it lasts 12 hours+. Unique, warm, cozy, sexy but not in-your-face kinda sexy. Perfect for cool/cold weather. Suitable at any age, say for night. Cozy sweater and scarf , fireplace on. Or going out on a date. Great Holidays scent !

AkaNeri

Mandarin notes, powdery heliotrope, vanilla and flowers (tuberose is not overpowering here, and rose is not too loud). Easy reach fragrance, it's flowery for sure.

drrobinson04

First. This is a fragrance that challenged my expectations..and I enjoy it. I thought this would be deeper and a more hydrating gourmand, however was very surprised to find it is more of a dry woody fragrance in the air and especially on my skin. More like the ground nuts or almond flour versus a creamy hearty nut butter. To my nose of expectation there is no added sweetness, just whatever occurs naturally. The whipped cream is a vegan variety. If you are ok with that and not a super sweet gourmand lover this would be a good way to experience the notes in a healthy “whole 30 way”. It is a cold enjoyable fragrance that could be worn year round and easily layered with a sweet body cream or another fragrance if you want to add more satisfaction. Alone, it is unlikely to soothe a sweet tooth.

kulykmarta

Beautiful sweet cherry, almond lactonic fragrance. Sounds expensive, sexy and misterious. Beautiful projection, sillage and longevity. Love the bottle design. I paid around $50 with taxes at fragrancenet. But honestly worth the whole $150!

GUADELUPA

It's a very nice scent! One of my favorites. This is an almond-chestnut jam, cream and milk. Delicious! Longevity and sillage is excellent. I can smell it for twenty four hours and more on clothes. This fragrance is perfect for evenings, dating, parties and even office-friendly. This is remotely reminds me of Black Opium, but Sound of Donna is much better and more interesting for me. If you love nuts and berries covered by many layers of cream, you will definitely love this as well. Amazing scent!

Catmo

I mostly get the orange, tuberose, whipped cream and chestnut. Because of the base notes it does smell similar to Zadig & Voltaire this is her. But the tuberose & orange is what sets it apart. I like it but it’s not at all what I was expecting.

b.a.denney

I struggle with patchouli so much. How noticeable is the patchouli in this?

DariaFrancesca74

Sound of Donna by Trussardi by Emilie (Bevierre) Coppermann: it is a hyper feminine, thunderous fragrance, with marked cheerfully fruity notes that evolve into a widely gourmand / lactonic blend. A new, fresh, youthful fragrance with a redundant olfactory pyramid, it seems to come straight from the 90s. Undoubtedly a fragrance that stands out, suitable for strong personalities and for women who love conspicuously gourmand fragrances.

Lozzahall

I love this delicious fragrance. It smells so good on the skin. Sweet, but not too much, rounded and comforting with an element of sensuality and good longevity. Instantly likable and had to purchase a bottle straight way. I get compliments when wearing it and will be adding to my favourite perfume list.

marijasimic

This is one of my favorite perfumes even after 2 years that I have it. The notes are very well blended and the smell is rich. Adore it!

Kuty22

Oh Donna!
You are one of those special girls, I was very skeptical of you, you know something about your choice of color (the purple bottle) was making me feel some-type of way.
But you won me over, there's something special and magical about you - the sound you make is sweet, sensual, cozy, creamy -
And Yes, I may love others... You know - I'm polyamorous when it comes to perfumes 😌 - but I want to have you around forever!
I'm so in love with this scent, soon the weather will be too warm to wear her - another blind buy 🙈 success, although I must admit the notes pretty much convinced me, that I would at least like, glad I love it 😍
I already ordered a backup bottle (I might order another one). On the skin it lasts me around 5-6 hours and on clothes the whole day, I wore a scarf yesterday, spent more than 5 hours outside/outdoors and today it still smells amazing. ❤️

The fragrance is beautiful, I could bathe in it. I don't think I could get tired of it. But unfortunately, it does not last that well. 2 spritzes, and lasts 3 hours at most which is unfortunate...

Monialight

It’s not really my THING. Well, I bought a sample to see if I’m interested in, but I’m not.
It’s not something special to wear and go out on a date but good for hanging out with friends.
Now i know what I really like, something fruity and floral but not something like this.
But it has something kind yk, i like sandalwood and whipped cream.
Edit: I’m kinda getting comfortable with it. But still not a thing that makes you shiny

fmangion

This is so cosy and creamy and an amazing nutty scent. I've been wearing it almost everyday so far in December. I am addicted to it. The only thing I will say is the projection and lasting is not the best. I can still smell it on myself a few hours later but just about. I do have to reapply half way during the day but to be honest I love it so much it really doesn't bother me. I want to smell like this all day. Love love love!

Mystery Elixir

The opening is gourmand and floral sweetness but this only lasts a couple minutes before the mandarin, which is very realistic in this, comes to the foreground with quite a bitter/sour kick. This mandarin stage lasts about 1-1,5 hours on skin but will stick around much longer and more prominently on clothing. After this the mandarin moves to the background and the fragrance becomes deliciously sweet and creamy and mildly woodsy. The middle floral notes don't really seem to come into play much, I can detect some tuberose but that's it.

It seems like you'll have to overspray a bit if you want to get some decent sillage and longevity out of this. This lasts about half a day. But I think that that's decent considering that this is pretty affordable.

This is a lovely fragrance, though I have some mixed feelings about the sour mandarin note that sticks around quite prominently on clothing, on the one hand it's freshens up the scent a bit on the other hand I don't really like the sourness of it.

rltnrp

I started eyeing this fragrance because i saw it includes the notes that i usually love. I managed to try it in store and then i got a 50ml size for 25€(!) which i think is more than fair price. I love the scent, it is cozy and kinda sexy. I love whipped cream notes in perfumes, i think it is what makes it cozy and more appropriate for colder months. To me, it smells very similar to kenzo amour and the vibe is also similar to z&v this is her. This will be my everyday scent for this winter!

Edit: i can smell this on myself the whole day, and the drydown kind of reminds me of hypnotic poison slightly, i think this is truly an underrated perfume, it’s a shame the bottle is not prettier

Vivster

I think I'm currently on my 3rd or 4th bottle of this perfume - so obviously this means I'm a big fan. I got it as a gift and instantly loved it, but I couldn't discern the notes other than "sweet" and "floral" perfume. When I looked it up, I was surprised because GOD, I never would have bought any perfume with whipped cream, almonds, mandarin and rose; and I'm also on the fence about patchouli. However, I think the blend is so balanced and delicate, it instantly lifts my mood every time I put it on. It also blends with my skin PH quite nicely, so I'm not getting a "sickening sweet" vibe from it, like I usually do with other sweet fragrances, but rather a "sensual floral" feeling . For me, the other highlights are sillage and longevity; I've had random people compliment this perfume in stores, at work, and even passing by them on the street. I personally wear it through all seasons, both daytime and night. Maybe it's just me, but I find that during the day, the perkiness of the mandarin shines through, whereas at night, it settles down as a sensual floral whipped cream embrace. All in all, I am in love with this, and definitely will be going for that 5th bottle!

pac1990

This perfume has a spiciness that I find similar to Mugler's Angel Muse and a floral soapiness on the opening that reminds me of Natura's Ilia and Signorina Ribelle from Ferragamo. I see myself wearing this in front of a fireplace on a snowy christmas evening cuddled up in blankets. The spiciness is somewhat cinnamon-y/clove-y like. This has two very different stages, after several hours it turns into a dreamy whipped cream, so cozy and warm. I really don't see the similarities with GoN which smells like amaretto or a pure raw almond sauce.

catmeow

I agree that this opens up very deliciously fruity, a creamy mandarin, well blended, it instantly lifts my mood as long as it lasts... which isn't long, unfortunately, because the scent confuses me once it settles, the fruitiness slowly disappears and it becomes more earthy, woody and nutty every minute - and it's almost as if the patchouli becomes too much of a beast, too dirty and dusty in combination with the slightly powdery florals, bitter amond and sandalwood, on me it's an odd combination, almost like old smoky tree bark with some milky sweetness, yet there is something special and intriguing about it and I am not sure if I hate or love it, it sings to my love of dark, foggy, gothic scents, it's just not what you would expect from the notes and the bottle.. it feels more like dark academia maybe

psst, someone in the reviews talked about star signs, my two cents: I would give this to a capricorn or virgo :)

ceeceelee

I really enjoy Sound of Donna. Extremely well blended, quality perfume. I love this companies leather goods, that's actually how I knew about them. If you like sweet, almond, nutty with just a hint of spice scents, you should at least try. It's discontinued now, so getting a bit expensive but it's worth it to me, so tracking down a back up bottle. One thing I do want to mention; patchouli. Normally this note isn't a fave for me but when it's well blended and offset with notes that can hold their own, it can add a lovely touch of spice. Some have compared it to LVEB, but I'm not sold. I have both and I don't like the patch in LVEB. I love LVEB Intense, but that doesn't have patch, but a really creamy hazelnut accord, which ppl may be getting it confused with. Also, the name? It means Sound of summer music. This is an Italian brand, one of the heirs (they are the official glove makers to the Windsor Royal House, lol) is a semi famous musician in Italy and this edition was made for her. This is an old family business with very humble roots in haberdashery but fairly new (1930's, 1940's?) in perfumery.

Ellsa

I'm not crazy about this perfume but is a good one. I must say is nothing at all like Donna(2011) so if you expect something similar you won't find it. To my nose is in the same category as Hypnotic Poison. The longevity and silage is way better than Donna, which I adore and I wished to be the same. From what I saw in Trussardi perfumes is the fact that smells as they say in the descriptions, I do smell the almond, the vanilla, the woody spicy notes, the warm ones which are very well blended together.

liat

Blind bought and I like this A LOT!
The opening is a little medicinal like Xerjoff's Opera, after that it's just a sweet almod-floral syrup. It's overly sweet, somewhat simplistic. So what? One doesn't always have to put on the Chanels, Diors, Guccis, or niches. Bought dirt cheap. The name is hilerous (unless "Donna" sounds like an atomizer). Super strong and sweet which makes it a great value for money. Has a silly little guitar-shaped plaque with the notes listed. All things considered, nothing too original but nicely done and a great bargain. Do not overspray unless you fancy a migraine.

daliflora

To me this feels like teens' bubble gum. Maybe they added too much whipped cream. Cannot discern many notes apart from some synthetic florals. I would gladly use this fragrance mixed into a shower gel from time to time -- not too often, however.

alit

What a steal this is! I did not expect much but was more than pleasantly surprised! Indeed, if you like Girl of Now, Olympea and L'Interdit, this is your jam. Yummy whipped cream with almonds and sweet mandarins. Tuberose is prominent and with a bubblegum quality, heliotrope and chestnut give it a bit of powderiness. The name is stupid but the juice is really good.Great sillage too!

Rozan

Beautiful perfume. I see a slight resemblance to Girl of Now Elie Saab, but the Sound of Donna is nicer, more floral, lighter. I can feel a cloud of whipped cream, heliotrope, magnolia and tuberose (I don't find a rose), chestnuts in a warm, sweet shot, and green almonds. Although they are associated with dessert, they smell noble and elegant. I recommend.

AndreaValerie

I love this perfume! This was a complete blind buy for me as I usually adore anything with almonds, so I wanted to try it out. And it’s beautiful, the initial spray is a very creamy warm sweet chestnut smell with maybe a hit of magnolia and green almond, and there there is a second when it’s developing when there is a sharper woody almost pencil shavings smell but in the best sweet way and then it transforms into this feminine but not too girly, sweet, floral but mostly still creamy chestnut and a little bit of patchouli scent. It literally reminds me of being say outside in the cold winter in front of a fire. It’s warm and cosy without being too sweet and girly, it definitely has its own stance and I can imagine not everyone will enjoy it but that just makes me love it more!

Marina.Klr

"Oh! That's intense!" This was my first reaction as soon as I first sprayed this perfume on me. The opening bothered me, it's too intense, ultra sweet and flowery in a very bad way. It also left me with the feeling that it reminds me of "Girl of Now - Elie Saab"! In the process, I began to enjoy it, because at the end it smells like a hot drink of almond milk, with luxury, chestnut -flavored whipped cream on top! Even if it is not to your taste, it casts some spells on you, it has something addictive, I can't stop smelling my wrist! On my skin, almond is the dominant note. Cozy & ideal for the Fall!

I bought a sample and I didn't really have a high hopes but what a nice surprise! This is gorgeous! Very feminine and sexy and a little bit woody, it's got a la vie est belle vibe but in my opinion this is way better

Patricia888

First, the name - it`s one of the most ridiculous names for the perfume on the verge of being simply lame. What sound Donna is supposed to make? Like when she is spoiling the air? Or snoring? What? Plus - Donna - is such a old school name that does not have sex-appeal or any appeal for that matter. If anyone called me Donna I would simply feel embarrassed. I know it means "woman" in Italian but it just does not "do it".
The juice inside is not bad but I was generous adding a "like" for this one even though it`s more of a "so so".
I have both Zaddig& Voltaire Her (which I love) and Britney Spears Private Show (which is a strong like) to which this one is compared to and I have to say this is nothing like Zaddig& Voltaire`s soft cloud of cosines nor bright, uplifting, happy scent of BS Private Show. So, if you like these two (like me) don`t assume you will like this one. Try before you buy.

Miruna

Almond, whipped cream and tuberose, with a slight sharp touch which makes it fresher than the notes sound. Modern everyday scent.

stacia79

I only noticed patchouli in this while it was still wet. That faded rather quickly and what emerged for the main event was something I can only describe as wedding cake scented suntan lotion. It's like being taken into the arms of a bronzed goddess for a loving hug.

aldinatic

sweet .. feminine..similar to britneys spears private show or tresor la nuit, it realy smells like a Italian dessert :)

Kon-nos91

I see that most of the reviewers have the same idea with me, it all reminds us of some perfume we already like. To me, is more like Girl of now-Elie Saab. They are both sweet-warm-very feminine with a modern twist.

I really appreciate the Italian houses and it's really nice when you see their idea of gourmandise creations. See Signorina-Salvatore Ferragamo with the 'panacota' note. Here it supposed to be 'cream' but both notes can't have an extract to use in perfumerie. Though, with the right notes and some more synthetic you can have the result. Furthermore, you will see many similar notes of Girl of now and Sound of donna.

To be more specific, Sound of donna starts with a good 'soapy' vibe like Chance eau tendre-Chanel with a celebrities perfume kind of intense sweetness. The almond here is 'green' if you have noticed it from pyramid's notes. I get a good balance between mandarin and magnolia but I can't categorize the perfume as a clear fruity/floral. Chestnut & sandalwood give a woody whisper but tuberose brings in mind the creaminess of TF's-Orchid Soleil. To help you a bit, it's like a flanker of Viva la juicy-Juicy Couture just a bit more feminine, less girly and complex. I like it in the air, it could be a safe everyday/office option but I don't get something unique. I like it's 'sharp' sweetness, bubbly character and the fact it can be an extremely safe gift for younger crowds. That's all.

Zana1970

It reminded me so of poison girl, and trussardi was on big sale, so I thought yesss...it lasted on me sooo long, the first hour it was just right, but after that I only could smell with my nose on my wrist, so dissapointing...

Aurelija Rosenzweig

I'm not an expert so I'll avoid talk about the "notes" but concentrate on the type of men attracted to that, based on experience during one week of wearing Sound of Donna: Slim men in their fourties, intellectual foodies, I guess the mont blanc dessert is to blame for that ;)

rola.asad

Creamy sweet almond heaven!

what a cheering-up fragrance?! a love from the first sniff.

Usually I like to take my time before I buy my perfumes, but it is not the case here! at the same moment I've tried this fragrance I've had to have it! ,, I couldn't help myself!

It's creamy, sweet, cheering-up; the main notes I get the chestnut, the almond, and the whipped cream, mixed with a floral notes, but before reading the notes here I couldn't tell it contains tuberose (it's not your typical tuberose fragrance though!!), and last but not least I couldn't feel the patchouli really that much, but I guess it adds an earthy, woody edge to the fragrance!
not the easiest scent to describe, it's so complex, it distinct very much from Donna 2011, while this one is creamy- complex, the other one is white floral-simple scent, but never mind I love them both!

SailorV

Sound of Donna opens up very fruity to me. Even though only mandarin is listed as a fruity note, it somethings also reminds me of fresh green apples and cantaloupe melons. Very fresh, almost ozonic in a way. The almond definitely smells green in the beginning.
As it dries down, the scent becomes milky-creamy and over the time also quite nutty, but there are always some airy notes added to it. Maybe the tuberose and magnolia add this creamy-fresh floral aspect, the florals smell clean and innocent here.
Unfortunately I have never tried Mont Blanc dessert, so I can‘t judge if they got it right in this fragrance. I do think the base is nutty and creamy, but I can‘t say for certain if this is a chestnut cream or another kind of nutty creamy dessert. It smells delicious and gives the scent a nice duality combined with the fresher notes, but it can become a bit sticky after some hours.
I don‘t really get any patchouli from this, maybe that would come out in warmer weather?!

Overall, this is not an unusual perfume, but not a bad one either. It‘s yummy, though not overwhelmingly sweet. I don‘t think I would get a full bottle, but I feel drawn to spray it on from testers in stores from time to time.

genny17

Well this isn't one I find very interesting, the almond is like synthetic, I thought I was smelling a Bath & Body works scent, not bad but certainly nothing exciting here...it is rather light, and something in it isn't working for me...this isn't the best Trussardi has to offer, this has a cheap vibe throughout..now as far as tuberose, I do not detect it at all..this is mostly almond / chestnut, but not gourmand, a tad earthy..just weird...I am familiar with Mont Blanc dessert, I grew up on that stuff in France, it is non existent here...now, the base is nicer, it is sweeter , but nothing more .

raiza1990

This one is a mix between mandarine, chestnut and whipped cream. I get zero flowers. At the beginning, the mandarine is the strongest note, later the cream and the chestnut take center stage. It is not very original and it reminds me of celebrity perfumes, but it isn't bad. It is actually quite pleasant.
It bears no ressemblance to the others in the Donna line, so i don't know why they chose this name.
It may be too loud for some people at the beginning, but the fragrance calms down very quickly.
I will give it a 5,5 from 10.

apentias

I was surprised I liked this. Playing in the niche playground for so long turned me into a snob I guess, I'll correct that silliness. Now, on to this fragrance : This is a satisfying gourmand tuberose. It ticks all the boxes for commercial success and, thankfully, it's not because it's easy to wear by anyone, but because it commands attention as a strong, feminine scent. I won't get a full bottle because for this exact purpose of sexy tuberose, I have Fracas which is more up my alley. Also, this is not quirky enough for me. Nevertheless, this is legitimately very enjoyable. It opens with a burst of fruits and tuberose. I was taken aback slightly, in a good way. Drydown is lovely, simmering, sweet and spicy. Strangely, my skin doesn't bring out the rose in this at all. Sillage and longevity are both very decent, despite my skin, that makes everything vanish in an hour.

ScarlettX

Looks interesting, but it's nothing like Donna (2011).
I can really sense almond, chestnut, tuberose, creamy notes and patchouli in it.
For me it doesn't even come close to Donna, which is very nice fragrance.
The almond note isn't sweet, it's more like bitter almond kind of scent.
Something bothers me in it. It smells too mature for my taste.

sugar_sweet

I tried it today, it is quite similar to YSL Black Opium, but a bit fresher version of it. Trying was a nice surprise, the bottle looks good and invating, the prfume inside is attention grabbing.
