I've owned the original fragrance many years back. I used it for a few months before getting bored of its generic scent and gave it to my son.

I recently found a bottle of this one on sale and reminisced on the fresh scent. After a few days of wearing it, I'm starting to think that I might have made the same old mistake. It doesn't seem to smell much different from the original scent! Only in a different bottle.

WesFragrance

For me it's become meh, typical blue fragrance for everyday use. Maybe I've owned the original too many times over the years, this one was a gift.

I can't actually fault the scent (even if the smell is generic nowadays) other than I wish the performance was better. Either I'm going nose blind after 1-2 hours or the performance is just terrible.

It's a solid versatile fragrance, just doesn't wow me after expanding into more unique scents. 6.5/10.

UsetheSchwartz

For me, it reminds me of Bvlgari Aqva. I like it, a bit syrupy in stench. I'd wear it if it was discounter price. Definitely a safe blue frag. Easy to wear, best for sunny days, sporting the seasonal appropriate clothes.

sam smith99

A mix of Polo blue edt and profondo, slightly synthetic but if you like the 2 I mentioned mixing them together might be liked by some.
I would probably just rather wear polo bue and profondo on different days.
But I still think it smells nice.

TheDogfatherHTX

I received a sample of this in the mail. I'm sure I've worn this once or twice when I was younger, but I can't really recall anything about it. I sprayed it on this afternoon to give it a proper review. Let's discuss;

Scent:
Opening is aquatic, citrusy, and woody. The primary notes I get are sea notes, bergamot, woodsy notes, and suede. The strongest are the sea notes and the bergamot for a fresh and oceanic blast right up front. This is followed by the woodsy notes and suede for a smooth and masculine background. The opening instantly reminds me of the Acqua Di Gio DNA. The dry down is very similar to the opening with the same primary notes. The citrus is dialed back a bit so I get more of the sea notes and woods/suede, but that's about it. It's still very reminiscent of ADG.

Performance:
Initial projection is moderate, just outside of arms length. Sillage is moderate as well with a noticeable but not overwhelming scent trail. After a few hours the projection was right under arms length and the scent trail was only slightly noticeable. The fragrance became a skin scent shortly afterwards.

When to wear:
This is a spring/summer scent most suited for daytime wear. This would be a safe pick for the office or the gym as long as you don't go overboard with the sprays. I would not reach for this in more intimate occasions such as date nights.

Blind buy:
If you like fresh and watery scents like ADG this is a safe blind buy for you.

Final verdict:
This is a very enjoyable spring and summer fragrance. I could see myself wearing this when going out on a hot day or if I just want something with that fresh and clean out-of-the-shower vibe when hanging around at home. The only problem I have is that I wish it lasted longer; I don't necessarily like having to re-up every few hours. It is a freshie so I can't fault it too much, but for an EDP concentration I feel like the performance should be a bit better. All that to say; I enjoy it, but not enough to commit to buying a bottle.

heysmell

more aromatic version of polo edt,
it is still a typical polo edp,
but I will not agree that someone smells it only for an hour.
this is a perfume for spring and summer,
so in winter when the skin is cold, they do not give 100% of its performance.
good aromatic alternative for profondo

OAKESKINEN

A more intense and herbal version of the eau de toilette.

fraigubbe

Definitely not worth it, just smells like a slightly better and more citrusy Nautica voyage for 10 times the price. Decent projection and longevity despite being an EDP. If you really want a fresh clean shower-gel scent this is definitely not the best option.

TripleA

Mind I say the exact middle of this fragrance smells a little like Bvlgari Tygar in terms of the Amberiness?

xdriux

One of the worst performers ever. They dare call this an eau de perfume? And don't get me started on the originality of it, or rather, the utter lack of it. It's a pleasant smell, but rather cheap and generic, and absolutely synthetic. Just save your money for something that will last more than an hour or two, sitting close to your skin, and avoid this expensive junk.

Masterpiece ✨️ ❤️
Blended so beautiful and have almost same DNA like OG polo blue. 💙
Its fresh out of the shower pick. 💧
I feel like ⛱️ beach vibe in high heat summer with linen shirts and shorts. Ah the Perfect combo💌

Bigmike650

Picture a powdery green version of ADG Profondo. If you like the smell of Iris and herbal notes blended with a fresh Oceanic type fragrance then you’ll like this. Kind of like if you took Profondo and Profondo Lights and blended it with the Polo Blue dna 🧬

Jayfrommaine

Good scent but I wouldn't pay retail by any means. A clean shower gel scent for sure. Moderate longevity and not much projection and sillage. Clean, fresh and a little bit salty. Nice summer scent if you find it cheap.

volante5767

I usually buy the EDT,I thought I'd give this a go. I'll admit, I wasnt that impressed on the opening, nice but slightly disapointed as I LOVE the old EDT. 15 mins later WOW! For me this just keeps getting better, similar to the EDT but more potent, classier, smoother, I LOVE it!

MagicBez

I bought this on heavy discount on a whim and have to say I really quite like it. The worst thing I can say about it is probably that it smells a bit like a generic "man" smell, albeit a very nice one. It isn't doing anything particularly interesting or new but it's doing the core job of making you smell nice with a nice marine scent very well indeed.

It feels like a superior version Maison Margiela's Sailing Day despite MM generally costing more. A worthwhile purchase.

sergbkp

Sprayer in this bottle is absolute trash (I mean the regular, not the new one which is in refill format), maybe that's the reason for the complaints about bad longevity. Just spray more and you're good to go - I get 5-6 hours of constant projection, if spray 2-3 times on the same spot.

I'd like to share a small personal story about this fragrance:

About 10 years ago, my father owned Polo Blue Eau de Toilette; and in fact, had been through several bottles before that. In other words, it was my dad's signature. It holds many many memories from my childhood, and everything that was linked with that scent.
Years till now, we moved, I'm older, my dad has some completely different fragrances and here we are.

I practically forgot about this fragrance until it popped up on my Insta, and the moment I saw it memories flowed right into my head. So eventually, I decided I would buy it and gift it to my father as a little love surprise. Anyhow, I stumbled across this beauty at the store, even though I was aware it existed either way...

There's something so remarkable about this, its classy, presentable, light, slightly alluring, and I found it to perfectly capture my dad. From the blend of oceanic breeze and Cardamom all the way through Clary Sage and down to Patchouli, this is an absolute masterpiece. It feels natural, not synthetic at all and very handsome.
For those of you who think the 'shower gel' vibe in Polo Blue Eau de Toilette is generic, here it is toned down, and a bit more aromatic, making it a bit more mature. Such a relaxing scent, truly as if you're out sailing in the ocean.
Anyway, I could go on for days explaining how nice this is, but that's enough for now.

And of course, the moment I tried this the same memories came swooping in from before.

All in all, there is a reason why my dad always enjoyed the Polo Blue line, and that is why it is his signature. Polo Blue Eau de Parfum has reconciled forgotten times between me and him.

Phenomenal...

#24 in my "Tour de Fragrance"

I was not particularly impressed with the Polo Blue I purchased many years ago because of its unremarkable scent and poor performance, but I thought surely this EDP version would fare better. It's actually gotten worse. A lot worse. Very, very watered down. It takes real nerve to market this as an EDP. The only opening you get is that of a freshly torn package of copier paper, and even that's gone in a minute. Don't waste your money on this one. Into the trash bin.

IA2023

I love this Polo blue EDP smell (from a 2019 bottle). Fresh, Clean, and long lasting on the clothes, no offensive notes, just a simple crowd pleaser.
It's a shame that the last batch feels watered down (bought in 2023).

cautious_clay

Blind bought. Smells pleasant, but there's this masculine note that come off as outdated and corny to me. Kind of ruins the opening. The mid and dry down does get better, but you can barely smell it at that point.

Lucky121

I bought this on deal with a travel bag. This blue me away. It is so fresh and easy to wear. All occasions and a time. Many compliments. I recommend this perfume.

Dixieland Delight

Best Polo Blue. Smells woodier and classier than the original.

Fruity and woody, cucumber.

Not a great performer, I get about 5 hours.

Solid, if you like the polo blue dna get this one and ignore the original. It will scratch the itch.

DJUANGO

Bought this at Ross for $26 (1.3oz) overall it's a pretty good Blue Freshie. It opens up clean, aromatic, bright. Very pleasing, and easy scent. As it dries down it pretty much stays the same with the ambroxan becoming more noticeable. Longevity and performance is average. Wouldn't really pay full price for the type of performance it gives. If you can find it a good deal as well then take it.

Brian Fantana

It's not that close to the original. I was trying to think what I reminded me of and it's D&G's Light Blue series. Light Blue Intense especially just without the juniper note (it has a different sweet herbal mids with the orris and clary sage). It has the same thick amberwood smell after about an hour just not as strong as the D&G. I like it. It would be a good option for someone who finds Light Blue Intense too musky or strong. Polo Blue EDP is a bit drier in the base even though I don't smell suede it must be that. It's also close to the new Acqua di Gios (the new 2022 EDP especially) so it's nothing unique but I like it, but it doesn't have much in common with the EDT Polo Blue.

deoeternus

Suede loafers by the seaside.
The chap gracing the brand promotional material is the scent personified.
_________________________________
Bright, herbaceous, aquatic, citrus opening followed closely by a smooth, leathery, woody sweetness with a hint of green. The orris root is likely there just to round off the edges and butter up the base notes.
The scent builds up quickly off the initial spray like an oceanic wave, and wanes almost as quickly as waves recede from the sandy shores. Radiant leathery notes surface in the background as if the sun heated up the cocktail-sprinkled seats of the yachts lining the boardwalk.
_________________________________
Moderate projection and sillage for 1-2hr, then quickly becomes intimate for another 2-3hrs (4hrs tops).
A one-trick pony in my wardrobe that works well as an out-the-shower pick-me-up. I can layer my stronger/warmer/sweeter evening scent on top shortly afterwards without detriment.

I got this as my first cologne at Dillard for 120. All I have to say is this cologne is very strong it lasts not too long but it does last. Would I recommend it? No, for this price you can get something better for half the price. It doesn’t last either which is not good. It is good for casual, warm weather. 7/10 for smell, 6/10 for longevity, 7/10 for projection

MNadz

It’s good…but won’t replace my love for the super, fresh and clean EDT.

This is certainly deeper w/a tinge more of sweetness going on. Think a pleasant combo of masculine salty leather w/sweetness from the saige. Although it gives glimpses of the OG, it certainly is its own DNA.

Projection is average at best…I didn’t expect it to push out more than the EDT, and it doesn’t. Does last a bit longer…but it does so sitting closer to the skin. Certainly more masculine and possibly more versatile. You could wear this one year round, where EDT is Spring/Summer for me.

Overall, I do like it very much. It just will not replace my EDT during the Spring/Summer. If you don’t own either, this might be the better buy because you could wear this one year round.

Professor Value

A unique take on the blue/marine scent category; clean, fresh, and with a slight candy-sweet note. Perfect for warm spring and summer days and nights. This is not the category for which I reach very much, but Polo Blue EDP makes me wish it was in my collection. Performance is average which is a bummer.

DustyMemphis

@Invasionbg, You're using it wrong! Stop spraying scents on skin and spray on clothing instead = Problem with longevity solved! Also it's very bad for your skin anyway.

Invasionbg

My first RL fragrance. Great smell but lack of longevity and performance. Shame because is so good, almost addictive blue scent.

robertandsheilaburke

Still one my favorite from the blue line.

jobau

Doesn't hold up compared to other blue fragrances today, but is still a classic. Very fresh and clean scent, can be worn in almost any occasion. I only get 4 hrs before the scent is gone but I think it's just my skin chemistry. You can really smell the citrus at the start. Worth it if you buy it from a discounter, but a lot of better scents if you'll just pay retail. At the end of the day, I still put this up there as one of my favorites because of nostalgia.

Yves 696

Bruh, this one smells ok, but the performance is not good, 2-3 hours and gets to a skin scent... For this price, get something better

AndySmellsGreat

Amazingly similar to Blue EDT.

Obviously being an EDP it has a slight reduction in the initial brightness and has a touch darker base but at the end of the day for the most part it’s almost a copy of the EDT. Possibly slightly saltier.

Despite EDP concentration it’s performance is frankly not much better though I profess I still enjoy it even though it’s one of my most basic common generic scents I own.

snooplops

Classy fresh fragance, one of my favortites, marine, salty, a little citric but not to much, kinda woody. You'll feel fresh and clean and neat!

mr acqua

Tried a long ago.
It was pretty much polo blue but withouth the citrics at the beginning, you dont get that orange scent. The rest smelled similar to polo blue edt

robertandsheilaburke

Besides Polo Green Cosmaire, this is my favorite "Polo" fragrance. Ralph Club and Lauren purple are my favorite.

jarno1208

It is an okay and versatile office safe scent. Typical blue fragrance without anything special in todays world.

Universe360

This fragrance holds a place in my heart because it was the smell of my uncles when they were at family parties. Sadly, this scent is not for me and even though I enjoy it, I feel like I'm stealing my uncles identity. This scent in my opinion is reserved for the audience that the EDT initially fell in love with.

neodave

I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

I was walking around Kohls the other day and sprayed Polo green on. Polo green was pretty popular in the early 80's when I was in high school. I thought I knew what it was like and was way wrong. Very very strong and in your face. Because of that I stayed away from Polo for several months.

Flash forward to today where I bought Polo Blue EDP after trying a tester. I like it a lot. To me it's a cousin to Acqua di Gio Profundo. Not exact but many similarities. This is the winner between the 2 for me because it's so fresh, clean, and office friendly. And the fact I get twice the quantity for less then half the price. Yea longevity is just average but for the price I'll dose again.

Edit
After a 45 days of testing during the summer I still like it but probably a little less than my initial impression. I think its the marine notes in the dry down that are a tad bitter. ADG Profondo has a similar vibe but a smoother dry down for me.

Candyandy

The suede note is really dominant here. I think it will make or break the fragrance for you. For me sadly it smells too mature and not really pleasant. The Polo Blue DNA is only there in the beginning and then it lingers in the background, while the suede is the main player. I'd call this only a barely "fresh" smell. I think it would fit a man in his forties or fifties well - not quite grandfatherly but mature, calm, accomplished.
Overall not my favorite scent, I'd stick with the original Polo Blue, which is a classic or just go for a different fragrance altogether if I want something with suede.

Mr45

An inoffensive fragrance for the office and casual events. The fragrance opens with a very clean after shower aquatic-lemony spice vibe. It stays fresh with its aromatic green notes and really last well in an aircon environment for me. The dry down is woody (can't say that I detect the vetiver) but the wood notes are soft and lightly powdery. I reapplied at the 6 hour mark as it becomes a very soft woody leather scent by then. It last long on clothes.

This is a safe and dumb reach fragrance that can't go wrong. I would say that this is mass appealing and I have gotten compliments over the last two weeks that I've worn this.

I like it and would wear it but I don't love it. I would suggest instead of this, go for Bleu de Chanel or Aqua Di Gio Profumo, for something a little more affordable, try Salvatore Ferragamo Aqua Essenzial Blu.

sameenuk

Opening notes are really lovely. I just have a tester for this. So limiting my comments..but this definitely has a very aquatic DNA for the polo family of scents. Great first impression

Kenkiun

One of the best fragances in the world if the opening last longer

AMajeedQT

I can't believe this has no melon note unlike the EDT!

Polo Blue EDP is all about sea note and melon, & it smells very similar to the original EDT.

PB EDP is a fresh aquatic smell of sea note, with a friendly fruity melon supporting it. Everything else is a just touches and strokes around those 2.

Fresh, aquatic, slightly-sharp, fruity. Not salty nor sweet, as some might expect from the combo.

Kind of generic/common scent, which also means it is crowd pleasing.

A decent summer release from Polo for men..

"Like".

Cole73

smells similar to aqua di gio profondo, but with suede in the base. Bergamot and sea notes (not salty, just fresh sea notes), some green touches, and suede in the base. I prefer this over ADG profondo. However, this isn't for me but if you like fresh citrus aquatics you'll like this one. the suede in the base makes it pretty masculine and mature

a7_mad1991

So 'blue' it honestly smells like laundry soap to me :/
I feel like the age limit on this one caps at 21 years old

AlphonseKoenig

I do not find this a "shower gel" fragrance at all. You may believe that I am crazy, but I really think that this fragrance is pure class and even luxury. It smells so sharp, so fresh, so deep. It is that deepness that made me fall in love with it. I have had like 8 bottles of Polo Blue EDT but this is such a new experience, I bought a small bottle and liked it so much that immediately bought a big ass 6.7 oz. bottle (the giant bottle is kind of cheap looking though, the cap is plastic and doesn't click into place as, per example, Polo Red Extreme does, so do not even think of grabbing it by the cap).

I travel to Japan quite constantly, and this fragrance keeps reminding me of the Tokyo Bar at the Ritz Carlton in Tokyo, because I was wearing it at this precise time that got recorded in my mind... Picture it, 45th floor, 11:00 PM (October nights are cool in Japan, its fall by that time), classic decadence bar music playing, all by myself looking at the horizon while getting whiffs of this great fragrance... I do not remember if I was having a whisky neat or this special cocktail made with bourbon and sweet vermouth, but it was perfect. Just perfect.

Believe it or not, I love to wear this scent at night. Either summer or winter, but it shines by night.

Pure class. Nothing else.

yourthemanowdog

if i remember correctly this was like spraying water when i tried it on at macys . it lasted for about 5mins

Vapor Trail

Very pleasant warm weather fragrance. It opens with your standard blast of bergamot and aquatic notes and dries down with a soft blend of suede and some herbal notes. Performance, unsurprisingly, is mediocre, and I'm kinda disappointed that an EDP only lasts 4-5 hours.

This is a Polo Blue flanker but it reminds me a bit of Acqua di Gio Profumo in that it mixes citruses and aquatic notes with more masculine notes in the drydown. If you liked the ADGP DNA but the incense was a little too much for you, give this one a try.

Overall a nice one from Ralph Lauren, but I don't have much of a use for it. It's currently a tad overpriced IMO and if you called it generic, I wouldn't argue with you.

TomFordFanboy

Fresh sharp aquatic shower gel. Impossible to dislike when smelt in the air.

piyux

Ralph Laurent Polo Blue Men EDP opens with a soft projection of citrus and marine notes. The opening is fresh, relatively common, but pleasant. Bergamot is the opening citrus note, sour and sharp, a fresh accord. The sea notes come across as fresh oceanic breeze as opposed as salty water. Both, the bergamot and sea notes create a very fresh and refreshing touch. It takes just a brief moment for other notes to come up but once that happens the initial soft projection improves to moderate, also, a combination of green, soft leathery, spicy and woody notes develops. The verbena and vetiver with a pinch of patchouli, create the green accord; the suede and woodsy notes mix themselves into one unified and projecting note as opposed to two distinguishable notes; finally, the basil and clary sage add some spicy touches. The cardamom and orris are faint accords without any significant participation. The fragrance has a noticeable opening to dry-down change, the opening starts with the soft projection of only two notes, the bergamot and sea notes, however, the rest of the notes will develop quickly increasing the initial projection to moderate. Once Ralph Laurent Polo Blue Men EDP has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, citrusy green (bergamot, verbena, vetiver), marine (oceanic breeze), suede, and woody fragrance with spicy accords. The fragrance feels airy, breezy, casual, fresh, green, soft leathery (suede), masculine, moderate-quality, modern, oceanic, playful, refreshing, sour, sporty, versatile, woody, and pleasant.

Polo Blue has been a go-to for many years. When i saw the EDP released, i was super excited. It definitely has the Blue DNA but slightly less sweet and a bit more mature. This is right up my alley as I am a little older now and the original has a more youthful vibe. I would compare this to Acqua Di Gio but without the sour note that i dislike (also Perry Ellis 360 Red). The blue DNA is also super appealing. You will not offend anyone with this fragrance. The performance is better than the original but not "beast" which is perfect for me. This will continue to be in my rotation for years to come. It's fresh, masculine, smooth, a tad sweet, and more complex than your average "Blue" fragrance.

Performance and longevity are moderate
Sillage is moderate.

Christian Dior Dior

I personally find this weaker than nearly every Ralph Lauren Blue Polo in their collection. I'm not a fan personally of any of the Polo scents except Polo Green that's a masterpiece. If you are going to spend money on a fresh blue cologne, get either Dolce & Gabbana light blue intense or for something more sophisticated Bleu De Chanel EDP.

Savatage79

Been wearing it a ton as of late, easily of the best designer fragrances..I can not get enough of Polo Blue EDP. Just keeping it short and sweet, one of the best hands down.

You definitely smell the marine/aquatic notes, bergamot and the suede notes. Its a very fresh scent, perfect for hot weather. A little pricey but it does last long and is a real safe scent that anyone will like. I feel its worth getting.

Better than original. Lasts long same/similar scent. Smells like melon and chemically to me. I like it based on the nostalgic factor that polo blue brings me. I go back to the beginning of my collecting. It was my second fragrance I owned.

i dunno why this edp is weak...
performance is bad...
edt version much better than this one....
more spicy but i didn't found the fresh notes like an edt...

I think original polo blue edt much nicer
Edt is for all ages but edp is much more manly more masculine and and little bit mature smell and absolutely less sweet the edp version
I prefer the edt

The Quid Pro Quo

My wife really likes this, as do I. I find it to have a deeper level of scent than the EDT. In the dry down, it smells a little reminiscent of Bleu de Chanel, but more manly. It’s as if BdC grew a pair. It makes me wonder if this wasn’t created to compete head to head with BdC, while the new Ralph Lauren Polo Deep Blue, with its Ambroxan is meant to compete with Dior’s Sauvage. I think that if you like the EDT, that you’ll enjoy the EDP. When it’s time to replace my small bottle of the EDT, I’ll definitely purchase this instead.

marcel2782

Cucumber, in spite of EDP's notes indicate other things - beautifully accompanied by a excellent suede. Very smooth and subliminal, like a good designer project. A fragile or delicate aroma in the sense that it loses the aromatic battle to anything stronger - an ambient atomizer or these bathroom aromatic sticks are enough to steal the breeze, so you need to be without aromatic competition to enjoy it in all its breadth and, of course, spraying a lot and without fear of being happy - in these perfect conditions this gets consecrated. Natural smelling notes and the quality of the delivered result make it almost look like a niche project. Very below average performance. I consider this one of the master office-frags from designers.

korleis

A fresh modern take of the classic Polo Blue. (Which is not at all dated.)
Lighter and more marine-citrusy where the old one had more of a cucumber note, and more of a depth with the dry down. Invigorating and a safe choice for summer season.
But, eau de Parfum? Naah, I expected better lasting power from this. Bummer.

lost point because the long lasting is weak.
Its not eau de parfum, its cologne.
The smell is great.

AFJN

Nice and pleasant blue fragrance.
Sweet but not overpowering. Casual and semi-formal occasion.
Didn't pass the test on hot weather and outdoor condition.
Has good sillage for about 30minutes then settles close to the skin. Maybe I need more spray.
Rating: 7/10.
It nice but I have a better choice for the same occasion also still expensive in my country.

It remind me SF Acqua Essenziale Blu.

Simon26 is mostly correct except for the performance issues. I also thought it had performance problems then smelled it on my teenaged son. Two sprays and smelled him from 5-6 feet away for about 2 hours then could still smell him from arms length for another couple hours. This scent is a victim of olfactory fatigue with it's wearer. To me it's a 4-6 hour fragrance which is an average range, and with how good this smells it's a winner and one of my favorites that I will always have in my collection.

Simon26

The opening is very contemporary, reminding me of either Bleu de Chanel or Chanel's Sauvage. Spicy, heavy, ambroxan.

After about 30 minutes it dries down into something much smoother and refined, with just a hint of that opening lurking in the distant background. The dry down reminded a little of Armani's Acqua di Gio.

That said, there's an edge and maturity here that's not present in the original Polo EDT or Acqua di Gio. It makes this feel more like a "mature" take on modern ambroxan "blue" fragrances, yet it's not nearly as spicy or cloying as the more popular ones (Sauvage, Dylan Blue, etc). I'd say this is a good scent for someone that's in their 30s/40s but wants a modern-smelling scent. Or if you're younger but have a really strong presence and forceful personality this would also suit you.

SMELLS LIKE:
Polo Blue mixed with Acqua di Gio, and an ambroxan note for some spice.

CONCLUSION:
Polo Blue EDP is for people who may have some old school sensibilities about fragrances that reach back to the late 80s/early-to-mid 90s: they like Drakkar Noir, Polo Sport, Polo Blue, Acqua di Gio, but they want something that's smells more relevant and modern. That's this fragrance. The dry down has something in it that gives off the "vibe" of a Drakkar Noir dry down. It's a forceful presence that's not shy. I like that about it, as it gives this scent more of an alpha vibe as opposed to a "sexy" date-fragrance type feel.

MacGuffin

2003 Polo Blue.
2009 Jaguar Classic Black.
2016 Polo Blue Eau de Parfum.

All have similar DNA, but this EDP has better longevity and drydown. Less synthetic smell and doesnt leave a sour smell on the skin as Jaguar CB. Fresh aquatic, perfect for summer season like today. The opening has the similar vibe with Acqua di Gio but I like this better. My nose approves!

First thoughts: Much deeper and richer than the Polo Blue EDT. Immediately upon smelling the opening, it gives a sense of familiarity to Blue EDT, one of my favorite frags of all time. However, I'd rate the EDP much higher, it's more sophisticated and masculine IMO, much deeper and a bit more spice, yet still incredibly fresh and exhilarating. It’s got a woody depth to it that I absolutely adore, which is present in fragrances like YSL L’Homme Ultime and La Nuit, Versace Oud Noir, and Mr Burberry. I prefer a deep, woody base over a musky one any day of the week, this is honestly the common ground in every one of my favorite scents. I feel it has a bit more in common with the classic Polo Green, just being more traditionally masculine, less fruit, and it just feels like a much more mature and refined scent. Really quite intoxicating and unique. I honestly see this replacing my big Polo Blue EDT bottle as my go to, every day scent. The biggest thing is this feels less fruity and airy and more grounded, more woody, and a tad more fresh spice. Truly quite exquisite! It gives me that feeling again, that I got when I first discovered the EDT in 2002... a bold and exhilarating sense of adventure, ready to take on the world! Every now and then a scent comes along that stirs those emotions in you, and it was the EDT when I was 14... now at age 30, a bit older, a bit wiser (maybe?) it's the EDP. So glad they released this. I love it.

Simple classic scent still modern to date

Sometime you dont need something complicated

for year wearing fragrance to open gym, get any compliment
just wore this to gym last day, get compliments for 2

(Last time i got compliment at gym, i wore clinique happy
and i got 1 bad comment from aventus that you should not waer to gym
LOL, you cannot under estimated how good fo designer frag)

good projection although it's EDP
moderate longevity although it's EDP
(for me all polo line is very poor longevity on my skin
this is better from others but still not good)

Paulki81

I love the opening of Polo blue edp...I wore this to work today in a hot and humid warehouse...the more i sweat the better this smelled. It is a perfect gym or anywhere you are worried about sweating in the high heat of summer. Dry down reminds me of laying on the beach by the sand dunes(inside the wooden fences), and getting a wiph of the sea, mixed with driftwood.

johnpatrickcastro35

fresh clean different from other freshies love this this hits you with a new sense of freshness

johnbernard80

very clean and fresh woody the opening though is strong, I can also the smell of old sweet book. but overall not to overpowering classic smell. this is good together with old age cigar.

asgeirn

A one-in-a-million type of edt. Your average fresh n' spicy-kind of scent. It will fit perfectly for teenagers worldwide...

Nothing exciting to write home about, try before buy folks!

Received a sample of this with a recent purchase. Started to use the sample with no expectations because I have never worn Polo Blue edt. Blew through that sample quickly and realized I have to get a bottle! Beautiful juice.

Bright and fresh while being deep and rich. A go anywhere do anything signature scent for anytime of year. A gentleman’s scent, which is why it doesn’t shout but speaks in a soft manner . Lasts for a good while, around 9 hrs.

A scent for someone 21 and up. It’s sophisticated but not to mature. Definitely a masculine scent that exudes confidence. In the same vain but not as thick as bleu de Chanel, and actually a bit more mature than Bleu due to not being as bright and sweet.

che1928

Polo blue edt first ed.,was another thing . It was masterpiece, nothing to see this one !

honestpirate

An aquatic Aromatic..cozy parfum. But..what a shame, like majority of other brands on shelf, neither have longetivity nor sillage.
I have used it in all weathers, and the Longetivity - 1-2 hr(u really need to sniff)
Sillage- Very poor, leave others you wont be able to feel it after 2 hrs

ReapThaWhirlwind

Polo Blue Eau De Parfum is aquatic leather. The formula exists as a perfected, more sophisticated version of the original Polo Blue.

Upon my initial impression, I couldn't help but think of all the time that seemingly went into this fragrance. There was a well-blended complexity to the notes, with a perfect cascade between them, that projected to me like dark blue ripples, that could be seen deep into the bottom of the ocean.

The fragrance opened with a warm, mellow aquatic aroma, atop a luxurious essence of suede, with deep soulful aromatics emerging from the depths. Dark, green, stimulating, and sophisticated. They crowned the beautiful chord of warm aquatics and sweet suede with an emblem that is the embodiment of class.

That first batch was really something to behold. The newer batches don't seem to reflect any of these qualities anymore. The deep soulful aromatics seem to have been replaced in lieu of smooth modern synthetics, that seek to sweeten the fragrance up immensely, so that it better appeals to a younger crowd. I've noticed the same thing for Polo Red as well.

I hardly find the new version worth buying, but the first version was quite a gem. Still, both share almost nothing with their predecessor, and its horribly obnoxious tinge that I've dubbed, The Creature from the Black Lagoon; which seems to leap from the depths of the fragrance and claw your nose.

Polo Blue Eau de Parfum is nothing short of a masterpiece. Infinitely deserving of the title Parfum. I absolutely love the way it compliments the humidity, and every time I wear it, it takes me on an odyssey. Divine and otherworldly. I don't know about the new batches, but the first batch was pure magic for the romance of fantasy.

Oldspice

I wore the original Polo Blue for a while when it first came out. To my nose this EDP is very close. Has a little better performance than the original but still not impressive for an EDP.

I enjoy quite a few aquatic types but this one is boring, nothing here that grabs my attention. Maybe a good office choice for someone that usually doesn't like wearing a fragrance.

Skyfall75

Purchased this EDP after smelling it on a salesman helping me with a suit purchase. On him it left a good enough sillage trail around the men's clothing department to convince me to make the purchase. Was hoping to find a fresh summery fragrance to replace D&G Light Blue.
Upon initial spray(s) I enjoy the freshness of this offering by Polo. It's a clean, fresh and a safe aromatic fragrance. However after wearing almost the entire bottle over the year I'm sad :( to report that this edp does not perform well on my skin or clothing! Seems to lose steam on me within an hour and becomes very close almost undetectable.

Also, nothing about it will impress a seasoned fragrance aficionado. It's a clean, fresh fragrance that underperform's imo. I will say it's blended well as I find it difficult to discern individual notes. Good safe office wear scent that will not offend anyone. However I suggest getting a sample before buying to see how it performs.

Impressions: Fresh, Clean, Aromatic, Light Citrus opening with some woody undertones. Blueish & somewhat aquatic but not unique.
Performance : Low to poor on my skin :( 1-3 hrs max!
Compliments: Low but it's a safe fragrance for indoor settings with 1-2 sprays.
Stars : 2 out of 5 ://

zbrown67

I always love the new Ralph Lauren Colognes, However Polo Blue edp is not my favorite. It is a very clean and fresh scent, but during the dry down I think it can be a little overwhelming. Overall I would say its a good scent but be careful on how much you spray and make sure to use it in a non offensive environment. I would not recommend the office. it's more of an night time dinner cologne.

honestpirate

This is one of the worst so called edp or day parfum. Neither it has any class, nor silage or longevity. Its a sheer waste of money and really disappointed by RL range...Pathetic!!

JF Dufour

Classic, nice smell, fresh, manly, versatile and good performance.

whytdelight

Love this. Smells so classy.

FreshTones

Even though I really started getting into different facets of the perfumery world more recently, how I missed the boat on the EDT of this one back in the day is beyond me. Sleek, cool presentation with the blue bottle and silver lining. Very nice sprayer, a good mist. Very nice.

So, this opens a lot like L'Eau Bleue D'Issey to me minus the rosemary and thyme which makes it much less cooking style spicy. Heavy cardamom, aquatic, a little bergamot. The middle is much like Bleue, somewhat spice rack but not as glaringly obvious. It remains pretty spicy aquatic throughout, I never particularly lose the cardamom. Very nice vetiver note. It's much fresher overall than the Miyake, not too many "dirty" notes though it still manages some green smell in the drydown with the patch, vetiver and wood. The suede is never really in your face but it does present a nice contrast to the other things going on in the drydown. This is an excellent fragrance. I'll be giving this one a lot of play in the coming summer.

Performance is pretty good. I got about 8 hours out of it with 2-3 of nice sillage. May be the beastly freshie I've been looking for. This is an all ages party and I think it could be used for all occasions. It's easy going enough for some kind of summer soiree and serious enough for a business meeting. I have a hard time seeing anyone disliking this one. Moreso for spring and summer, fall as well. Overall, I'll probably get good use out of this one over the summer for sure.

fl1180

Every time I come back to this in the spring, I'm reminded how near perfect this fragrance is. IMHO, RL did a great job perfecting Blue, got rid of the "off" synthetic/harsh smells of the EDT ...
The bergamot opening is what I like best about the difference between the two...a couple squirts of this is great anytime, day, night, after working out,....

Pheromones

Bought this after a pushy customer assistant. It's become and will remain an office/work fragrance. It begins with crisp fresh notes but blends away with the many other main stream scents.

Sillage - 7/10
Longevity - 7/10
Scent - 6/10

Dr.August

Fresh and masculine of course, as almost all RL fragances.
I love Polo Blue edt and i thought that this would be the same edt with more staying power...big mistake.
A new fragance (classy, fresh, citrussy and after-shower vibe) with almost the same longevity and projection of the EDT.
Longevity: 5 hours or 6 at best.
Projection: 1 hour and 30 minutes.

I think it is expensive compared with what it offers as an EDP.

Fitfiz

Bought this one today, the opening soo good with a punch of sea notes and bergamot, its fresh,,with little hint of cardamom to make it a bit warmth,
Few minutes after the dried down,
Verbena quite strong dominant, with leathery suede,i like it!!
Fresh and versatile! It wasnt loud as Versace dylan blue, yet its good on its own, perfomance 5-6 hours on my skin,i had the EDP silver cup collectors edition version,
Overall 10/10

I like original quite a bit, but when I tried this it seemed sickly and smelled like axe/lynx body spray. I’ll give it another chance though I guess

1gentleman

I am currently wearing this during the fall and winter. It works, here is why. It is very versatile because it is a little woodsy and if you pay attention it has a little kick of the original Polo, the dark green bottle popular with with whites and Asians over 55. Also, as other reviews have stated, during the winter, you can pick up on the crispness of it. It projects the crispness well during the very little winter we have here in LA, CAL. You can also smell the original polo blue in it, but it is a little more sophisticated. It is a classy cologne.I think I am going to make this my fall/winter cologne fragrance. I will switch to Polo Blue de toilette during the spring/summer because it is not as potent. The new Ultra Blue smells like the annoying cologne Acqua de Gio. Hope this helps.

lou6

I like this fragrance! When I sprayed expected the same scent of the original Polo Blue but wait, bergamot is more present and it reminds me AdG profumo for the first minutes without the incense...Very interesting touch here.
Then, it develops like the original polo blue with that suede, basil and patchouli that coming from the background.
I got fair longevity (6 hrs)
Nice projection
Same casual vibe, fit also for work and office
Spring, summer and fall in the days
So pretty interesting fragrance but it could have better longevity
So 8/10

DrNDJas

After a while, it is difficult to distinguish one “blue” men’s perfume from another. Want to try something fun? Search under bottle colors and see just how many hues of blue men’s fragrances there are, and try to identify as many as you can! Should you buy this? If you are a Polo junkie, yes- this can be your safe crowd-pleaser. If not, spin the wheel and pick one. After the opening notes burn off, most of these blues blend together into one amorphous, generic, Azzaro Chromtastic scent. Of course it gets compliments: it reminds everyone of something they’ve smelled before, either in the shower or under the armpits. Clean, sporty, manly, zzzz...

ScentJunkie616

Recently re-discovered this and I like it more the second time around. This has more balls than most aquatics and just enough sophistication (creamy leather) that it won't be confused with a teenager's cologne. Perhaps I am applying an offensive amount of this one but I find longevity and projection to be above average for an aquatic. And the EDP I can still smell on clothes after they've been in the hamper several days. It also works surprisingly well in the dead of winter as it has a crispness and sweetness that both mimics winter's bite and reminds you that summer will (eventually) return. I only wear this one every couple of week's but it's among my most complimented fragrances. I generally like more alienating fragrances but it's nice to have a crowd pleaser or two in the lineup. Whether at the gym, at the beach or sipping a cognac next to a roaring fire, this is an inoffensive multi-purpose fragrance to add to the collection.

Jms710frag

Very disappointing. Opening is strong with the sea notes and bergamot . But soon after boom. Couldnt even smell it. Performance is do poor. Sillage surprisingly is good. Its a summer fragrance in my opinion. But after all i wont splash my cash on it. 5/ 10

Celtic_pride85

one of my favorites just wish it would last longer.

chiragh

amazing just amazing , from the start itself fell in love with it , ordered 200ml bottle !

JF Dufour

I realy love.
Crisp (almost metallic), clean, manly and fresh, therefore most of women realy love.
It's versatile. Because of the crisp aspect, i wear this parfum in the cold months (Montréal, Canada). The freshness is perfect for the hot weather too.
The longevity is very good and the projection is moderate-good.
You can't go wrong, it's a safe scent.

melvin100@

Very nice parfume. Bought it recently. 200ml bottle for 102 euro. Very fresh beginning from the bergamot and then the powdery orris in the middle and the suede the rest of the day. In the morning after my shower I spray once on the chest area and once on the pulse and rub them together. I smell it the whole day but not in a nauseating way like boss red.I am suprised though that there are reviews here stating that the sillage is low. No offence but I think they have bought a fake batch, have not take a shower for a while or have a very terrible body odour to be able to smell their skin through the strength of this parfume.

maxpowerboston

Fresh, aquatic, has some synthetic elements (cashmerin/Iso E) that I don't remember in the original. It adds to its fullness/depth but it also makes it smell more like everything else on the market. This won't offend anyone but it's also very similar to the original, a fact that makes sense as this is just an EDP.

Longevity is far below average on my skin. About on par with the original, a scent that also had really poor performance on my skin. Projection is moderate for 30 minutes and then goes to skin scent.

A 4.5/10 for me. An easy pass as there are better performing aquatics on the market for less money (best price I can find on this is $50-60 at respected discounters as of Oct 2017).

Loay81

I love this perfume. It is really very classy and it can be used more as formal use. It is also great for all seasons except summer. don't be cheated and confused by EDT version which I hate !!!

Scent 4.5/5
Projection 4/5

Offensive very slightly

Fraggie2100

strong suede smell after the initial marine blast, unfortunately not long lasting, skin scent in 1 hour ! but very nice smell, why is this labeled edp again ? I didin't notice any change in longevity from the original edt blue.

alabangcute

This is actually a nice scent to smell on others especially when it isn't overpowering. So a word of caution - don't over spray this EDP version on yourself because, based on my experience, people around you will find it overpowering and some tactless people will show their displeasure by pinching their nostrils. It's embarrassing. LOL.

Hall2799

I will start by saying the only negative with this scent, of corse is performance. However, this cologne has a sophistication to it that makes it feel as if it's your natural scent. This is not necessarily a bad thing. It doesn't scream out at people, but makes you smell very classy within your scent bubble. The scent itself was very unexpected for me. This cologne for me is able to compete with any Blue scent on the market. To me Polo Blue EDP is to Polo Blue, what Aqua Di Gio Profumo is to its original predosesser. The Polo Blue DNA remains but this has a sophistication, and a quality that allows it to compete with the top colognes in the (blue) category. This is what a man should smell like. Don't underestimate the scent. Women's reaction to this cologne are amazing. It's light, fresh but the sage and patchouli give it a masculine spiciness. It is not overpowering but very manly. This is my favorite everyday work scent. My wife loves it. I believe it to be just as good if not better than Dylan Blue, Dior Sauvage, or Bleu de Chanel. The only negative to this fragrance is the poor longevity. However, in today's market I would say it's average. This would make a very nice signature scent.

mahdi88

in my opinion the opening is very similar to jil sander sander for man with added Aquatic Note
it is smoother and sweeter . jil sander is sharper and louder .the drydwon turn into very clean and gentle scent which reminds me of Versace Dylan Blue .very charming opening and Drydown .i can guess women would love it Coz basically they love clean , fresh masculine scents .i prefer Ralph Lauren Polo Blue EDP over Ralph Lauren Polo Blue EDT and over Versace Dyaln Blue.
Good Job Ralph Lauren . Done Well ;)

Update : Definitely very long lasting Fragrance . i sprayed it on my skin at noon and i can easily smell it late night.
Projection is not as powerful as longevity but fair.

This was my first RL frag purchase since back in the Safari days. I really enjoy this scent. It has a nice aquatic, fresh citrusy vibe and later you do get some suede, woods and verbena. I'd label this one a dumb reach because it's not really offensive and I've it gets good compliments. It's got decent projection for the first hour or so, but it's not in any way a beast performer. I average about 5 hours or so from this juice. Would be better if it lasted in the 7-8 hours range considering it's EDP concentration but a good many fresher scents just don't last that long.

biff2

This is one of the best fragrances ive owned so far. Fresh, aromatic and ocean notes make this a great one for the summer months. A real compliment magnet with the ladies aswell. Longevity is fairly good as you would expect from a perfume, as such is the projection and Sillage. This is one of my signature scents along with Prada Luna Rossa Carbon. Great crowd pleaser!

Manny44

I've enjoyed wearing this new EDP. More complex and higher quality ( quality bergamot note, very nice suede note, and later I get a beautiful verbeena) than I expected. Holds its own against the best 'Blue' fragrances on the market like Sauvage.
I thought this had longevity issues the first couple times I wore it but today ( indoors at work) Its performed. A very useful fragrance as part of a larger ( very large) collection. 7 out of 10.

Edit: Had longevity issues again today..lol...maybe it struggles in humid weather.

@ toni_dun20

You can use a unscented bodylotion to moisturize your skin on the parts where you spray your fragrance.

This mostly holds the perfume oils a bit longer

toni_dun20

Bought polo Blue EDP recently. I had once visited a mall and really liked the fragrance and finally bought it from duty free. Disappointed to say that it just doesn't last on me. I tried more 8-10 sprays as well but the fragrance really disappears in 15mins. Is there a way to make ur perfume last a bit longer? I bought the bottle for $97 which in my rupee is quite a lot and not worth the money. My questions is - is there a way to make your perfume last longer?

[email protected]

I am a fan of Polo. Black, Double Black and Explorer are my favorite. I plan to buy the EDT version but with limit time to try I decide to go with EDP. I use it and found this one is the softer version of Acqua di Gio . The sillage is not great but not skin scent. It will be the interesting perfume if it is not too similar with ADG. You can buy this if you don't have the ADG or you feel ADG is too strong for you. If you already have ADG this is not your choice if you do not need the same perfume in your collection.

You can buy it. It safe and you will not go wrong with this perfume.

For myself, I already have 3 version of ADG in my collection, this is not interesting for me.

K.Emam

This is wonderful fragrance, I love it, it's fresh clean classic aromatic scent but modern at the same time it's easy-to-wear safe fragrance, longevity and projection is good, I'm wearing it about 5 hours ago and I still smell it clearly, feel fresh all the time you wear this fragrance also with sophistication, perfect for summer days

moodypaws

The main difference to me is that they added a ton of Cashmeran to align it with all the other Cashmeran bombs out there. You just smell the damn chemical everywhere these days. Performance is ok but it's lost originality.

Although I no longer wear it, I prefer the edt with its aquatic, musky ripe melon that at least had an erotic je ne sais quoi about it.

adamn

Alright, so I'm writing my review after having this for 2 days. I purchased the $68 3.4 bottle via eBay. Guys, I'm seriously not sure if I'm going to buy on eBay anymore, I have gotten so many fake decanters, esp Polo and Bvlgari ones. Even this bottle has me questioning whether it is a fake and that's why I'm reading the reviews so closely to understand other observations; here is mine. Upon first spray, there is a burst of fresh aquatic scent - typical bright blue sea notes, bergamot/citrus, and the patchouli. Pretty fresh and bright. Sillage is not extreme, like I cannot smell this about the room, you still have to get close to get a sense of it after the spray. It does not develop or mix well with skin or exude scent later. My observation was this goes completely down hill after first spray, like you have to search for it. So, I'm thinking, eau de parfum? Really? No, it is not. I feel like they were trying to compete with Bleu de Chanel and failed here. Either I have gotten a complete fake or the real bottle is just disappointing. I like the scent upon spray, and wish it would hang around. But I'm sitting here after my commute, 30mins later and cannot even find the damn scent on my jacket or skin. I sprayed some Versace Dylan Blue, which is an EDT and damn sure that is still there and distinct. At first I didn't like that scent, very powdery low-key, but it's actually quality and grows on you. The Polo Blue EDP, not so much, I'm asking where has it gone, how can this be a parfum at all? So, a little disappointing and perhaps I will compare a sample at the dept store to test whether I have been duped with a fake bottle. If anyone has the same experience or can offer some insights please feel free to message me or reply. Thanks, A

medamine_mrad

Successful Fragrance I'm quit satisified. It's strong and fresh, everyone tells me you smell so good.

doniking

reminds me little bit of adg profumo but softer.

kdubu

Meh? Average at best. not bad but not great either. Definitely not worthy of the $98 price tag for a 4.2 oz bottle. Very good and promising opening with citrusy top notes. Basenotes are just ok. Nothing new or spectacular, actually basenotes are below average for an EDP. Longevity is a 4 hours and sillage is good for about 2 hours after 2 hours becomes dry and a skin scent. There are much better options out there that a cheaper.

Nosebest

I must say I am quite impressed with this new release from Ralph Lauren. The original was nice in parts, but had a very definite flaw primarily centred around the incompatibility of 3 specific notes, namely the melon meets basil meets musk combo which could at times end up smelling unfortunately like a mix of pizza and body odour. Not exactly the result most people are looking for! To my nose the EDP is a much more refined affair which has retained the better qualities of the EDT and emphasises them while dispensing with the above mentioned ill fitting notes and inserting some new ones, leaving a fragrance with a very smooth cool green aromatic/watery personality all laid on a beautiful earthy resinous woody base with suede. The result is crisp, rounded and quite youthful, maybe a little less playful than its predecessor and very masculine. The addition of certain notes are what take it to the next level, with the verbena, sage and basil interacting beautifully with the vetiver, patchouli, woods and orris root. This is fresh done REALLY really well.

TonyVancouver

Go buy this before they reformulate it. Go now. Very nice. Opening smells like the heart of the vintage juice, which was my signature for awhile a few times. The base is A very well done suede wit a salty vibe. Masculine. Classy. Average projection but good longevity. Feel like Brad Pitt in oceans 11 when I wear it. Confident

well, the only thing that attracted me to this new release is the 2016 gift set that included a 75ml + 20ml bottle! Such a nice miniature bottle you can keep in your body bag for touch up sprays. And the bottle is nicer and easier to grasp. And not to mention the huge RL freebie gym bag that was part of the deal with the fragrance advisor. hehehe. all in all, it has a much stronger scent on your first spray and i would imagine as it fades, it will turn to the original edt which is okay cause i like the edt already and i am just going for the promise of a more concentrated form of the fragrance which is a classic.

If I smelled only the last phase of this EDP I would say it's just Polo Blue. But from the first spray until you get there everything is better. Feels like a more refined version, without change the original character of the first. Now goes to the top to fight in better conditions with many others blue and fresh scents, and I think with some advantage. Well, the guys here may sign an alternative path to the ones who made Kenzo Homme EDP, as it comes to an EDP of a traditional perfume.

Having using this in a tropical climate, on my skin, this EDP version last about 4-5hours however the projection is weak..stay closer to the skin. Which is a bit disappointing.

This is a good flanker without a doubt but I'll be honest. To me this it shares a huge similarity with bvlgari man extreme.

I have been interested in getting my nose on this new Ralph Lauren Polo Blue Eau De Parfum as I am a big fan of the original Ralph Lauren Polo Blue.. I happened to receive a paper sample of Polo Blue Eau De Parfum in the mail so this is just my first impression of the fragrance.. As I open the paper sample fresh top notes like bergamot, & sea notes create a fresh clean blue opening which smells very nice, especially in warm weather.. The heart of Polo Blue is very fresh & herbal with notes like basil, verbena, & sage.. Woody notes like vetiver, patchouli, & sage in the base of the fragrance are detectable right away & they become more prominent as this Eau De Parfum begins to dry down adding body to the fragrance.. Polo Blue Eau De Parfum still smells very much like the original Polo Blue Eau De Toilette, however it is a different composition with different notes.. Despite the differences in composition, this Eau De Parfum still carries the overall vibe of the original, & it is still a very masculine scent like the original.. With that said Polo Blue Eau De Parfum smells a bit more dense, a bit darker perhaps, & of course a bit more modern.. I definitely think Ralph Lauren did a great job with this fragrance.. Polo Blue Eau De Parfum retains all of the Polo Blue DNA yet gives us a slightly different composition.. It may feel a bit redundant to own both the Eau De Toilette & the Eau De Parfum, but if you are a big fan of the original than I think it is worth it to own both! I always have felt that Polo Blue was one of the sexiest "blue" or "aquatic" fragrances on the market, one of the best! I myself probably still prefer the original Polo Blue, in it's original form due to the gorgeous suede note that used to drive me crazy! However I don't really know how the current Eau De Toilette stands, or if it has been reformulated for the worst but this new Eau De Parfum is definitely worth looking into.. You really just can't go wrong with Polo Blue, Eau De Toilette or Eau De Parfum!

Have never thought of Polo doing a great fragrance until yesterday. Well, I went to Boots to check out something for my mum and saw New polos having free bag with purchase. So I tried on the Red EDP first, it was okay. Then move on the Black EDP, it was really good tbf. Then Blue EDP, voila, this one actually hit me. Got loads of compliments from everyone. P/s: for those who said that this EDP is not much different from the EDT, I dont know if your nose does work.

A dull and dishonest cash grab release from Polo simply capitalizing on the men's "parfum" craze. Blue EDP is nowhere near the power of a true edp, and I'm seeing this gimmicky bs more and more. Polo should have focused on an unreformulation of the original edt like Chanel did with Platinum Egoiste.

This release is just a watered down crap version of the original. For a true men's edp at a great price, try Utopia II, as the current reformulated edt of Polo Blue still beats this olfactory "hand is quicker than the eye" shit show illusion that unfortunatly so many are falling for these days.

A big thumbs down for me.

I was reading the recent SI magazine and tried Blue edp.
The first two things I thought, this is the best designer fragrance I'v tried for a long time, and 2 nd, this smells like Bleu de Chanel, which is one of the very best designers frags of recent years.
I smelled a distinct ginger note, though non listed. It has nice green notes, cardomon, clary sage, basil, and nice woody notes.
Overall it smells quite fresh, good for warm weather, but very classy, distinctive and versitile for any season or occasion. A bit sweet, but what I liked about it that it dosn't have much sweetness, it's mature, but not old manish either.

A winner, and a smashing counterpart to the new(ish) Polo Red Intense EDP. Similar to Armani's AdG as a classic aquatic fragrance, but with an added depth and resonance all its own. And, on my skin at least, it is beast mode. I put it on before work, and two hours later, people across the room were complimenting me. And this was the result of only three sprays. 9/10

100% day fragrance
not that big difference between the EDP and the EDT(old version) and that one last longer for sure .

for those who call it weak, must try a bit more, not evrybody's skin is same.this is a summer fragrance, and they usually are not known for beastly projection or longevity. i had the blue edt for last 10 years plus, it lasts about 3 to 4 hours, and i am happy to reapply. this new edp one is better as it gives about 6 which is really not bad for summer frag, smells little less fresh and heavier than edt, and the bottle is really regal. lots of creeds last about only 2 hours like virgin island water, why pay that much if you can buy for much less and it gives you much better performance?

voyage lover

no big difference between EDP and the old version, they only removed the sweetness which makes it better but still longevity is very poor .
i surprised when i saw it in the market , was extremely happy until I test it .

rushrocker

To me, this is Polo Blue minus any of the sweet notes.

A huge detractor is that it does not last long at all. Barely longer than EDT. And I'd like to mention that I am NOT a sillage/projection whore. Random drugstore fragrances last a while on my skin. This does not.

This fragrance is also extremely boring. After the very first smell I have no interest in it.

If you enjoy this type of freshness in a fragrance, go with CK Eternity Aqua. Aqua is $20 on eBay and the sprayer on it is really nice. The scent is so extremely similar to Polo Blue and Polo Blue EDP that it's not worth the price to buy the Ralph Lauren stuff.

My very first cologne ever was Polo Blue. The first formulation of Polo Blue was incredible. The stuff they put out now and this EDP are a mere shadow of its former greatness.

The updated version shares a lot of similarities to aqua di gio profumo and what polo blue EDT was before the reformulation. Starts off low and slow, citrus, a whiff of the herbs and patchouli. This gains strength and projection as time goes on and it turns primarily into patchouli, leather, citrus peeking through to give you the aquatic feel.

Very nice, nearly $100 for an aquatic fragrance that has moderate sillage and projection, but if you're at the point of serious collecting, cost and sensibility have probably gone out window by now for you. I will buy because it is nice and I loved the original, but for those of you who have adg profumo, you may find this redundant and not different enough to own both. I myself will own both and gladly. I'm a fan of a lot of polo fragrances as outlined in previous reviews, and this will replace the original polo blue for me. Nice bottle btw, give it a try

Long story short: went to macy's not looking to buy. Got talked in to trying it on my skin. 3 hrs later I can't believe how nice it still smells. 4 hrs later, after dinner, I go back to macy's and buy.

This is blue the way "I" imagine it to be. Great lasting power, with a moderate projection.

Nothing ground breaking except that it really lasts. That one spritz I can still smell right now as I type this 8 hrs after.

This is safe, clean, modern and would work for you from 10-80 years old.

I highly recommend at least try it.

fl1180

Wow, this updated edp version is so much better than the original edt. It opens with a powerful, excellent opening of citrus, orange.. The biggest departure from the original is definitely the burst of patchouli which lasts for quite a while in the middle. It takes a good 7-8 hours before the basil, verbena, sage notes dry down to the wood , suede, and vetiver. I love this new updated edition. It can be worn day/night, anytime. Longevity for me is 9-10+ hours while sillage is moderate.

drswonder

First, you need to know this is NOT just a stronger version of Polo Blue. They share some of the same notes: Basil, Sage, Suede, & Woods. But there's big differences between the top (first) and the bottom (lasting) notes. The top notes in Polo Blue are citrus & fruity, with sort of weird cucumber note included. The top notes in the New Polo Blue EDP are citrus, spice, and sea notes. The Bottom notes in Polo Blue include a predominance of musk (which does not mix well with my body chemistry) and woods. The bottom notes in the New Polo EDP include green, mossy, leathery, and woody notes, and no musk at all.

So, bottom line, what's the MAJOR difference between the two? The New Polo Blue EDP is MUCH better! It starts off somewhat sharp, but wow does it ever mellow out and blend and develop into something special! It's fresh and smooth at the same time. Also, longevity is no problem at all. This EDP is niche (Bond, Creed, somewhat in a 2nd Cousin kind of way to Creed's Erolfa and Bond's Wall Street) quality and has all the makings of becoming the same kind of rock star fragrance that Polo Red Extreme is! 9 out of 10. Give it a go.

chillzz1230

Very weak for its parfum version smh. Rather the original not much of a difference.

sokar_zeyada21

the notes tells that its too far from the vintage eau de toillete

kaysee

Very nice, fresh, masculine and sexy.
To my amateur nose it is a ADG clone, but still I'm gonna buy it. Not sure on longevity/projection as I only sprayed once from a distance. will update when I buy/test again
