Good everyday wear scent especially during winters. Feels light on the skin and stays on for a good amount of time!

weltprinzessin

i like it! i'm just not necessarily getting that caramel note, which is a disappointment. the powderiness of this perfume reminds me of MAC lipsticks. i find it does not last more than a few hours, but it packs a punch while it's present.

Jordan 99

This is same category as Pink Sugar, just bit better. Sugary, not cloying or strong, just sugary, not worth of even writing about it. I love Candy Floral tho…

vanille23

i had such high hopes for this but i cant stand it :( was expecting a more mature version of sdj 71 but it is decidedly not that

ciaramyrea

too powdery and too vintage for my liking. i don’t smell any caramel or vanilla, just dusty baby powder. i don’t like this fragrance at all. longevity and sillage are bad. def not worth the price.

anamawsity

Sweet and powdery but not cloying. In fact, it’s a little too faint for me personally. It also fades after just a few hours. I wouldn’t say it’s similar to Prada Candy Night—they both share some base note that makes it clear they’re related, but they’re like second cousins, not sisters. Candy Night is much heavier on the chocolate, and on me even has a sour milk note which I don’t get from the original Candy.

maddieonline

This is such a strange fragrance and screams 1960s to me? I expected a delicious caramel perfume but there's something in here that just smells overwhelmingly like jasmine and carpet cleaner. It lasts forever and projects, so if you like it that's a plus, but based on the notes it is absolutely not what I expected.

caprilyic

are you kidding me? smells like a hospital. disgusting And boring at the same time

Make_It_Make_Scents

At first I didn't understand the following for this perfume because the opening smells weirdly artificially sweet...almost like a cheap plastic or nail polish remover. And I was quick to dismiss Candy altogether. But I decided to give it a chance. Ok, once it dries down I get smooth, yummy, warm caramel with musk. I appreciate it a little bit more now lol.

Tinabill

Prada Candy is the caramel for the mature in character, the sophisticated in taste, the delicately sensual, yet still warm and approachable lady or young woman.
It has an amazing balance between a mellow sweetness from the caramel, a powdery cleanliness from the musk and some intriguing warmth from the benzoin.
If you’re not into gourmands don’t let the hot pink color and the “candy” in the name make you dismiss it. I don’t think they do this beauty justice.
My only gripe is the poor performance. But to be honest if it were loud and obnoxious it wouldn’t be sophisticated, would it?

lemongrassscented

They could never make me hate you.

This was my first "big girl" perfume and I fell in love upon first sniff. It's a sweet, smooth, caramel lovers heaven with a powdery note that feels like a warm hug. It's a sweet candy fragrance without smelling synthetic. I smile every time I smell it. Maybe it's nostalgia or maybe it really is that good.

Sophia97

It's such buttery caramel with a powdery, light musk. Smells delicious to me. It automatically makes a person sexy when they wear it, as per to me. Also, it works in all type of weather. Even in summers, the most humid weather!

Skittles0216

I have complicated feelings about this perfume. As many have mentioned, Candy is a misnomer. This is a warm, caramel musk and a wholly uncomplicated, straight forward scent. No twists or surprises here. That being said, I really love the scent. The caramel is a real treat in a market flooded with vanilla and lactonics. Actually, this scent doesn't smell edible at all, which I personally love (why would I want to smell like food, anyway?). A wonderful everyday scent.

That being sad, the performance is so truly disappointing. She all but disappears after only a few hours. I love this scent so much and find this performance so poor that I've searched, without success, for a dupe. I can't find a dupe that captures the warmth, powder, and caramel. So-called dupes run too vanilla.

With all that being said, I wear this perfume the most because I truly love the scent. I typically reapply throughout the day, which is fine but certainly not cost effective. That being said, the minute I find a dupe with better performance, I'm kicking this fragrance to the curb.

Shimmer412

Sweet, warm, yummy, and even a little cozy. I get a sweet and warm caramel and vanilla that’s also powdery and musky. I think the powdery and musky notes help to ground this and keep it from being too sweet. Plus, the benzoin note even gives this a bit of a cozy feel. Overall, I like it. It’s not my favorite, but it’s definitely a nice fragrance. An easy reach, especially in the fall and winter.

I get great longevity with Prada Candy, it lasts the whole day on me. The projection is nice too, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me.

Just for reference, I’m a big sweet/gourmand lover, and here are some of my favorites: Gold Sugar, Kayali Vanilla 28, Nest Golden Nectar, Burberry Goddess, Philosophy Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere, and VS Tease Crème Cloud.

Rosiewebber

It’s true, this isn’t a reflection of its name, “Candy” suggests gourmand, very sweet, possibly fruity. It’s actually very powdery and musky, and gently sweet.
But I like this! The caramel is very soft, and mixed with the powder and musk, produces a sweet kind of your-skin-but-better scent for me. I like it for bedtime.

OtherPeople'sChildren

Gives high school signature scent, in the best way. Warm caramel and powdery musk. The musk is in particular delicious. Medium longevity 4-6 hours. Would purchase on sale.

2wn

This caramel is quite soapy and sticks in my nose and the back of my throat, making me feel like I've just gotten out of the shower.

AlaskanAngel

For something with a food name, it's very disappointing as it never reaches gourmand status. It's very powdery with more of a plastic toy sweetness than anything actually edible. Hard pass.

SweetMammaD

Candy? I’m so puzzled by this fragrance. On me it smells like a mix of Elmer’s glue and lipstick. Someone else said baby wipes, which is pretty accurate too. No Caramel or sweetness or candy. Total flop.

barbieland

such a warm, sweet musk, it’s perfect. bold, dark, and inviting, i was definitely surprised when i smelled it at first because i expected something more bright based off of the name. makes me feel like i should be wearing high heels and a darker lipstick.

asenath7766

As a fan of gourmand scent, this was just okay for me. It's a bold scent, but it is not sweet like candy, in my opinion.

vpace91

Unfortunately I get no caramel from this. Just lipstick and then nothing...

PurlyGirl

Pleasantly sweet and a bit musky, a nice generic work scent, but by the time I get to work I can barely smell it. I don't want to blast myself for the first 30 minutes to have this detectable still at lunch time.

Lj123fragrantica

I would describe this as warm, very sweet and powdery :) It's quite unique, it doesn't remind me of any other perfume. It's so lovely, definitely one of my favorites. I wear it mostly on the weekends, it's a bit too much to wear at work. I would say there's no freshness or fruityness at all, it's mostly caramel and powdery notes.

Macleay

Candy is one of those perfumes I’ve obviously known of, but have never actually smelled. Last time I was at Sephora I tested it and I don’t get it at all. It’s giving baby wipes and inexplicably, room temperature butter. I haven’t heard anyone else say butter, but that was the first thing that came to my mind, that’s how the interpretation of the caramel reads to me. I think because of that latter impression I couldn’t stop myself from getting a certain subtle greasy impression from it. In both its name and the caramel note, I was thinking gourmand. And when I think gourmand, I think decadent, indulgent, playful. If this can even be classified as a gourmand, it’s the most buttoned-up, conservative gourmand imaginable. I suppose it’s not horribly vile, but it still made me wince. The smell of office sterility and a nursery with a tinge of kitchen oiliness. What a strange little scent!

MacabreLemon

A perfectly balanced blend of sugar and flowers. I agree with other reviewers that what this lacks in uniqueness it makes up for with a flawless execution. Candy doesn't have an "off" moment from the initial spray to the final fade 5 or 6 hours later. I probably couldn't pick it out from other floral gourmands, but if you want to make room for one in your collection, this is the one to get.

primadoll

Not gourmand at all. But there is caramel it’s so weird. So chic. Smells like waxy caramel. Almost fake but it doesn’t smell artificial at all to me. It smells like a modern chic coffee shop or something. I smelled this on someone in a hot changing room and I was obsessed so I think it works in all types of weather.

SakuraArt

Powdery caramels are normally not my jam, but Prada Candy is light enough that I could wear it any time of year, even in humid weather.

K8lo

A musky fragrance, definitely not sweet as you would think from the name. What I do enjoy is it becomes sweeter over time. If you spray it on fabric / clothes, it lasts for DAYS. I enjoy the caramel notes.
Con for me is the muskiness. I have bad asthma and this scent gives me a full on asthma attack. Huge allergy trigger for many. Heavy for those with sensitivities. When you first spray it, you do get some heavy old school / powder room / deep musk vibes. Takes awhile for the dry down to become sweet.
Definite pros and cons to this fragrance. Dont hate it, just not for me (or my asthmatic lungs) lol

nukleo777

It arrived this morning and of course I had to try it right away. And now it is in my top 5 perfumes. I love caramels and I love powdery perfume so this is the perfect combination. Elegant mix of musk and powder is not ,,in your face" but the sweet note is just right. Every time my sweater moves, I get that sweet and delicious splash of yummy yummy warm sugar scent. After 6 hours I can still smell it under my clothes. And I love love the bottle! Most important, my boyfriend loves it! I usually wear different perfume every day but this one deserves few days in a row.

violeteme

Powder and caramel is a beautiful combination. I am not very much into caramel and haven't tested Prada's Candy for years, but I have to say Candy is very pleasant. It's not perfumey at all. Could very well be confused with nice smelling hair products and oils. Caramel sometimes is suffocating, especially paired with vanilla, but it is just right in Candy. In no way too much and doesn't smell cheap.

Nil3

Mmmmmmm 🧡
A fancy burnt caramel shower gel with musky undertones on me.

Very satisfied with this one.
Wearing it to bed and when I wanna hug a person .

LanaDelSlay

Lindsay Lohan wears this

catina

I don’t like it. I had to wash it off. Smells kind of cheap like some thing you get for $10 on your way out of Deb’s.

YourFragranceFriend

Opens with a slight white musk with sugar. White musk is something I get more in the sillage and projection.
Sugary scent has a cold edge. Smells a little makeupy yet has an element that reminds me of cola. A lot of fragrances with orris plus a vaniillic base register as cola to my nose. It must be Orris/Iris here making up those powdery notes. It’s very pretty.

This scent brings me back to the time every magazine had a sample card with this scent included. I remember back then thinking this fragrance smelled like cardboard on me when I tried it in the department stores and when I got my own sample. It doesn’t smell the same anymore so I’m guessing there may have been a slight reformulation.

Overall, it’s a very pretty scent. It’s pleasant to wear and would be a great signature scent appropriate for most situations. Candy doesn’t properly convey the vibe. I’d call it something like Prada Makeup or Prada Powder.

Amethyst3

This fragrance is either hypnotic or repulsive to people. For me, I was bewitched . It smelled of all the candied perfumes I’ve previously owned , but it had a more expensive , elegant touch to the blend which justifies the cost (just about). It’s sexy and not too heavy . The bottle I find timeless and very art deco .

Bkrause

The juvenile name “Candy” doesn’t fit this fragrance. I love it- it’s a classy, warm, resinous vanilla fragrance. I like layering this with woody scents - or anything in the BR540 dna

Moonami

I usually use gourmand perfumes for layering and Prada Candy is perfect for layering with woody notes and incense.

If you're using the real middle eastern oud incense and then spray Prada Candy on yourself after it then you'll smell heavenly. The gourmand notes will help soften and sweeten the incense.

Not sure pure frankincense will work with it but use the middle eastern incense blends.

mamahousemouse

(trial split) I am beginning to suspect that if there's powder in a fragrance, that's all my skin will pick up.

On my skin, if I tell myself to search for the notes listed, it's powdery notes with just a hint of musk. What it actually smells like, is a pretty scented powder, fancy baby wipes, or perhaps an expensive scented soap... it's nice, quite nice, but I can't smell the caramel, the benzoin, or the vanilla at all. I'll give it a month and try again because it IS nice - and lasts about 12 hours as a skin scent on me, but with a name like Candy I was looking for something that smelled YUMMY - not just nice.

TheStephReid

A delicious gourmand that doesn’t smell overly saccharine or immature (i.e. like a junior high locker room). The downside is that it has poor sillage and longevity, which means I reach for it far less often than I want to, considering how nice it smells in the first hour or so.

rosetinteddream

I think I need to try this again from a spray bottle. I smelled it at Ulta and thought it was pretty nice despite expecting it to be too sweet. It’s not, it’s a very nicely balanced gourmand. So I bought a rollerball version online.

I don’t know if it turned or what…but all I really get is tonka. It reminded me of Chanel No 19 Poudre. Hmm. I’ll have to give it another go one day as I gave the rollerball to a friend. But yeah, a little disappointed.

I like Prada Candy very much for the first few seconds after spraying it, which is about the length of time it seems to last on my skin. I'm sure this reformulation is weak, and I'm also sure that the original version--the one that The Scented and other vloggers rave about--is as wonderful and long-lasting as described. But the one I bought--new, from a legitimate seller--is simply weak af. I'm sure this is a breach of Fragrantica protocol, but I will recommend the Oil Perfumery dupe of this perfume, which smells the same but lasts longer than it takes me to type this review, which is more than I can say about the much pricier Prada version. In the meantime, I'll keep my bottle in its time-out box in the hopes that it matures into something less evanescent. To reflect my irritation with the poor longevity, I'll rank this an OK and then upgrade to a Like or Love if it ever figures out how to stick around, either on skin or fabric.

Stark95

Absolutely adore this, had it back in 2014. Loved it then and love it now. Fell back in love with this scent after nearly 10 years.

Nessa_Jgr

I was so stunned when reading the reviews on this page that I had to double check if we were talking about the same fragrance.

I may be biased as this is my favorite perfume of all time and as I've been wearing it since 2012 (11 years) but I don't understand all the negativity. Has it been reformulated ?

Everytime I've worn it, people have gone absolutely crazy about this fragrance whenever I would be next to them, so saying it has no projection is a little bit odd to me. Again, I'm thinking of a new formula, maybe ?

Also, some people have mentioned very poor longetivity... Again, we are talking about the fragrance that lasted days and days on my scarves and other clothing; maybe even weeks. I genuinely don't understand how someone could say that about this perfume, except if there's been a brand new formula that sabotaged this amazing fragrance. The only thing that I've noticed, however, is the price increasing. The biggest bottle (80ml) used to be around 100€, and now, it's about 180€... What happened?

I own 5 sealed bottles of this fragrance and one that I've been using for a couple of years. I can't imagine my life without this perfume. I'm obsessed. When I watched the movie based on "The Perfume" by Patrick Süskind and saw Jean-Baptiste Grenouille try to create the most perfect perfume in the world that would drive people crazy to the point that they would think they were in Heaven, that's the perfume that I would imagine it to be. Haha.

I've been told that this fragrance is getting harder and harder to find, so I'm thinking that they may stop it someday... :'(

Isabellaroses

Very very sweet smelling, almost too sweet. When I take the spritzer off, it smells like an almost straight liquor. But the musk undertone (when it comes through) is nice it would be good for a simple daytime perfume for the winter/autumn time but the longevity is very low and would need to be reapplied many times throughout the day. Not worth it, especially for the money but I think it’s a nice layering perfume.

amanda0727

Tested this at the airport on strip. I can barely smell it, unsure if I am noseblind. What little I could smell, it is a light, powdery sweet caramel that is far from cloying. Really pretty but I just wish I could smell it more. Overall, I am a fan of Daniela's Prada creations. She is the queen of light & clean fragrances.

LMBelvi

Got a mini from a friend. Glad it was free. This is boring and faint. If you want caramel go try Salt Caramel from Shay and Blue. For powdery musk vibe I suggest Clean Skin.

RoseG

I’ve tried a tester of this and I liked it. It’s very sweet, powdery and just a yummy caramel. It’s not very long lasting. I wouldn’t buy it but I still think it’s a nice sweet fragrance.

Safyre365

Yummy caramel with a side of makeup! It works and smells feminine.
People say this doesn't last, but it lasts around 4 hours on me. I think it lasts longer because I spray about 7-10 sprays and I also make sure to spray my clothes.
True that it's never ever a strong scent, but their are days that I just want something softer.
I expected this to smell like straight caramel, but it doesn't and I'm ok with that because it's comforting scent too.
It smells more like powdered caramel, if that was a thing.

saria131

I ordered a sample of this and im glad i did. didnt like this at all. super powdery on initial spray and still too powdery for my prefereces after dry down. smells like old lady perfume imo

valeriadavid

I don't think I can be objective when reviewing this one, as I've been using it since the year of its release consistently; it was my first "real" fragrance and it holds a special place in my heart and on my perfume shelf to this day.

It's simple, sweet (duh) and powdery, has little to no longevity, is suitable for any occasion; I would recommend this scent to a teenager who no longer feels like using body mists or to a young woman looking for an everyday scent. To be honest, if me and Candy didn't go way back, I wouldn't purchase it right now with so many more interesting and better performing gourmand options on the market; but this is a nice safe everyday option still.

justcheckinout

Caramel with warm benzoin and clean powdery notes. The warm and clean base makes it feel like a caramel-scented body lotion, rather than a caramel sauce or candy. Still sticky and sweet, but in a cosmetic product way. Overall pretty linear, reminds me of the drydown of Pink Sugar without the licorice and less sweetness. I remember it smelled plasticky on paper when I first smelled 8 years ago, and didn't like it, but now I like it better.

Seraphine0

Suprisingly DeliciousClaydoh in a goodway its so nostalgic
I love it

ginnylune

I’m surprised I don’t hate this. I expected a sweetness bomb, but it’s actually pretty light and more powdery than sweet. A nice light caramel. I certainly wouldn’t buy it as it’s not wowing me, but I will enjoy my sample.

yulikat

I tried this at sephora. Surprised it wasnt as sickly sweet as i expected but it didnt wow me either. I wont be purchasing

strutdontrun

God I love caramel perfumes and was so excited to try this. But all I got from it was PlayDoh. *crying* I tried another sample bc sometimes perfumes smell strange to me at first and then they grow on me. But nope, just PlayDoh again.
Poison by Dior also has the same effect on my nose, just PlayDoh-y. Not for me.

dinkleheit

I really like this fragrance, it's very feminine, and sweet but not sickly or synthetic smelling. The musk can provide softness and depth to the sweetness of the caramel, preventing it from becoming overly cloying or intense. I would not say that it's a sexy smell, it's more of a cute/beautiful fragrance. I feel like I have probably smelled it fairly often and the notes are not that unique, but the way it's executed is beautiful. So, if you are looking for something sexy and unique/groundbreaking, this isn't it. However, if you are looking for something to be a good signature scent that is good for most occasions, then this is a good one.

cameron346632

my girl has this, Ladies if you want a man and to keep a man buy this .

scenchanting

I love this powdery sweet caramel scent, sweet but I can smelling on this scent forever without feels bored or queasy

Divine grace

Another great perfume murdered by reformulation. Why do these high end brands do this? It's just water in a bottle with a fainting scent. I don't think I will recommend anyone to buy this, unless you get the 10 years older formula. Total waste of money

pwoo

The perfect autumn/winter fragrance I always look forward to wear. I'm not big on gourmands but the caramel in this is absolutely delicious. The powder and musk make the experience feel complete and comfortable, like I'm being tucked into sweet warmth. I spray this at home in the morning and it lingers when I come back from work - the longevity is surprisingly good.

Calliope72

I got my little bottle in today. With all the mixed reviews, I wasn't entirely sure how I'd feel about this one. Before I read any, I expected it would be straight up caramel candy. A true gourmand. I guess it's gourmand. At first squirt it's SUCH alcohol, but the dry down is doable. Someone on here mentioned root beer and that's exactly what I get too. Like if baby powder and root beer got caramelized, this would be what the baby smelled like. It's not unpleasant though. I kind of like it. It's not my favorite, but I'll keep it and use it instead of selling, giving away or chunking it. Honestly though, I probably won't buy it again as it's very fleeting. Within 30 minutes, it was totally gone which is just not acceptable for the price tag. And I mean like I never even sprayed myself kind of gone. I've had cheap body mists last longer than this.

Lillakilla

On me this is extremely caramel and toasted brown sugar, reminding me of a Victoria's Secret lotion from 2006 called Insatiable Caramel Kiss or something like that. Not a bad memory, but still feels a bit juvenile, and at this point a bit dated. But despite this, it's hard to revisit without smiling, and it's always pleasant to smell on other people. It's like a friendly, familiar face at a party. Very gourmand to me; not getting the powdery aspect other reviewers mention.

Evie6

Loved how it smelled out of the bottle and on my skin. Like a sweet but not to sweet vanilla carmel candy. Unfortunately it lasted all of 5min on me and then just disappeared.... Completely.

QueOndaGuera

Not a safe blind buy. By all accounts this should be a perfume I would like. I still remember getting this as a tester from a Sephora gift set. It smelled so dated, like an old makeup bag you filched out of your mom’s purse with 90s Avon makeup left in it. The powdery aspect of this perfume just wasn’t for me I guess.

didsthecat

My favourite perfume but it doesn’t last on the skin at all :(

perfumeleopard

I love this perfume so much. The name Candy lead me to believe it would be too sweet so I held off on trying it for years. It’s really a cross between a gourmand and a musky skin scent. I love the caramel and the musky base but the benzoin is really my favorite part about it. Longevity on the skin is about 3-4 hours.

SweetEnigmaticSoul

Between 2012-2014, this is all I wore!!! Prada Candy was my signature scent!! I always received compliments with this baby!! I’ve purchased at 5 bottles. lol I love this perfume so much! ❤️

brightawake

Wow, this is giving me flashbacks! This was THE office-to-drinks scent of the early 2010s apparently. I’m having a vivid sense memory of having to wait for the next L train in the am because the first one is too packed, trying to manage a coffee and a banana with a Four Loko hangover. The young woman next to me is in business casual with a yoga mat slung over her shoulder, Adele bleeding out from those little white apple earbuds, and this fragrance on her camel wool coat.

I can see why it’s liked, as the benzoin gives some balance, but on my skin it’s still turning extra sweet. Even so, it isn’t overpowering. It’s super girly and feminine. If you’ve never gotten sick on that purple Four Loko this could be a great scent, but if you have - watch out for time travel.

figgypudding

Lovely, soft, approachable, sweet scent.

Eve_evolution

A very light caramel , barely there. Like an old toffee forgotten in a handbag, hardly anything there, some caramel and musk. It’s ok.

pinkdiamond1

Prada Candy is very different from most gourmands. It smells like toasted caramel or toffee, but it is also powdery. I don't think that it's unpleasant though- it's not too powdery. Even though it smells like caramel, it isn't that sweet. Candy is a warm, almost woody scent. If you like warm and woody scents, Candy may be for you. On the other hand, if you are looking for a gourmand scent, Candy should probably be sampled first- I don't really think this is a safe blind-buy for gourmand lovers.
Candy reminds me of 'By the Fireplace' by Replica. It doesn't smell similar to By the Fireplace, but it has the same vibe and it goes into the same category- a warm autumnal scent. Prada Candy also has resemblance to Prada Infusion D'Iris- a powdery scent that is mature without being "old lady-ish" as some people would say.
Even though I enjoy the softness of this scent, the lasting power is too short-lived.

hannahbrooke

I desperately wanted to love this but it smells way too powdery and like alcohol for me. Had to return.. also FYI: the spray nozzle squirts out in a thin squirt liquid, and not a mist, stained my shirt! Sigh.

poodleParty

I love this one, but it has no lasting power and has no projection. It's only worth it if you get it for cheap, imo.

It's a "gourmand" fragrance that's also very mature at the same time, like powdery and almost old-lady like. Definitely not for everyone.
-
It's getting chilly in the mornings/evenings, and I'm so obsessed with this! It'll surround you in a soft caramel/powdery cloud...smells kinda like baby wipes too 😂😂😂. Honestly, there's nothing like it, and there's a reason it's been around since 2011. It's one of those scents that you'll either love or hate...

BritneyPerfume4Eva

I've been waiting to try this for years. Luckily I just got an 8ml sample from ScentBox. I'm shocked and disappointed.

I've never had such a poor perfume. This seemed right up my street: powdery, gourmand and musk. Nope. It's gone in a second - never have I encountered such poor longevity and sillage, and for a brand like Prada.

If I wipe it off my skin onto my fingers and hold it right up to my nose, I can smell the fainest hint of what could have been a nice perfume. And even that's faded away lol.

And upon applying, you get an overwhelming scent of superglue. Nope, nope.. Horrible. I like makeup scents, like lip gloss and hairspray, but glue? Noooo.

Oh well, it'll save a lot of money! I'll just collect the pretty prada empty bottles, rather than the fragrances lol.

I do hope I'm wrong. I hope in a week I come back and say I love it. However, I doubt it; there's nothing there to love. I hope that this is a bad batch.

A much better gourmand - Azzaro Wanted Girl, JPG Scandal (I thought Candy was going to be a better version of Scandal), Moschino Toy 2 Bubblegum
A much better musk - Narciso Rodriguez Fleur Musc for Her, Michael Kors Michael Kors (the scent is eponymously named, this isn't a typo lol. Oh and this is personally my favourite perfume, it's like angels crafted it).

Holding the open bottle right up to my nose... It should be super rich in scent, but I get nothing but superglue. I'll buy another sample sometime, this has GOT to be a bad batch, right?

I’ve been waffling on this one since applying it this morning. At first, it reminded me so much of Victoria’s Secret Heavenly, which is a favorite of mine. Same fluffy, super soft musk with a bit of extra sweetness. But as it dried down, it got spicier and spicier. For most of the wear, this has felt sweet (although not like caramel .. bummer), musky, and spicy and is incredibly reminiscent of old school Avon perfumes. I’m surprised this was released in 2011; it feels more like an ‘80s-‘90s vintage.

On the upside, I actually find this to last pretty well with mild-moderate projection.

I blind-bought this because I thought to myself .. caramel and musk, right up my alley! But I will definitely be returning.

Einfinken

I like a powdery sweet fragrance but I used to overspray the absolute sh*t out of this as a senior in college and before I had a concept of seasonal scents. On paper, it's still the type of scent I should like but this reminds me of sitting outside of the club at 4 a.m. with a turning stomach. I can't do it anymore. I also think there are more refined caramel and gourmand scents out there that I prefer.

dantar

it smells like baby powder, but not in a bad way. we’ve all smelled weird powdery scents, probably why people stay away from those kinds of perfumes, but honestly its feels very youthful. it’s almost sweet, without necessarily feeling gourmand. you definitely have to let it settle; like others have said, there was almost no scent at first.

m0userella

Unlike what the name implies, Prada Candy does not smell like candy. It doesn't smell like caramel or sugar or anything like that. When I first sprayed it, it smelled like nothing. After it dried down, it smelled like baby wipes... but not in a bad way. It smells like what I imagine rich people baby wipes smell like haha. It smells like glamorous, luxurious baby wipes. After the dry down, it immediately transported me to being 6 years old, bored out of my mind in my Mexican Catholic church. I remember smelling this on all the Latina milfs around me. It's the main thing that comes to mind when I smell this. Once I become a milf, I will definitely wear this all the time. For now, I think I'll stick to more youthful smelling gourmands hehe.

elleayjay

This is my second review because I wanted to give it another try and I absolutely regret it. This smells like a hot, dirty diaper, but there are also moments where I smell nothing. It’s so awful. How are y’all getting sweet? gourmand?? fruit??? After about an hours it starts to smell like a powdered, hot, dirty diaper. Nothing about this is flattering.

Moonshine_Strawberries

The range of perceptions of this in reviews is so interesting! Personally I feel like this is marketed all wrong. It would be more appropriate in the Candy night bottle and suits the name “Scandal” far better than the actual scandal fragrance does. This is dark and very sexy, and one of the sexiest things about it is that I’ve never smelled anything like it. To me it’s not super sweet, and definitely not gourmand sweet. It’s so rich though I wonder if I’d end up disliking it if I wore 2 full sprays for a day. This may be one of those “sexy on someone else, but not for me” scents.

yumsle

All time favourite. I remember I bought it when it was first released I was a highschooler. Till today, I have never smelled a perfume that sweet and classy at the same time. I believe it is the intensity of benzoin what differentiate it from the sugar mess perfumes.

RaggedyAnn

I didn't find any loud notes here and not terribly sweet or caramel on my skin but a creamy vanilla with a tad powder and very quiet musk. Small office and dining room friendly as it's not a big perfume but rather a pleasing fragrance. Nice.

AllisonNW

It’s nice. Don’t come for me but I’m imagining Guerlain SDV’s younger American cousin mixed with Clean Reserve Skin. It’s a light, sweet, powdery musk which I like for the office.

WitchQueen

1/10. People say this is a less sweet gourmand compared to other sweet designer fragrances- what are they talking about? It's sickeningly sweet. I'm sure this smells great on some people but it's stank nasty on me.

pjharveydaughter

Little Edie from Grey Gardens would’ve loved Prada Candy and I think that’s the only way I can review this frag.

cyberelle

This is a very pretty powdery fragrance, but not gourmand at all. At least, I don't personally smell any caramel or sweet notes. The bottle is beautiful, as is the packaging.

TRmen

This is the first scent that I smell nothing seriously... It smells nothing. I smelled on paper then sprayed to myself and still nothing. Am I the only person that smell nothing?

SW1996

With the name candy and the top note of caramel you’d expect sweet, delicious caramel like a worthers original. This smells like baby wipes. So disappointing 😣

vixxiimcmlxxxvii

Hold on! I just blind bought a bottle of this because I’ve somehow never thought to test this because of its mainstream appeal (I’ve grown the f up since then) and I’ve continued to avoid it because it’s called CANDY and the top note is CARAMEL and I’m not feeling sickly sweet vibes the last year and a half. But I’ve sat here for a week reading reviews and I had to get a bottle. Will update when she arrives—we will experience her for my first time together!

Ok it’s literally perfect. How did it end up with the name Candy?? I hear caramel and I imagine thick, sugary, syrupy. Candy, artificial. This is none. I fully agree with the baby wipes vibe, but that should not be a deterrent.

Obviously, I’m relieved—a successful blind buy. And so overwhelmed with HOW GOOD IT IS. Seeing as Prada Candy Kiss is my signature, I shouldn’t be so surprised. But I am! And so so so happy! I’ve never pre judged a perfume so harshly for so long with no real reason not to. I take it all back!! I feel like Arsenio Hall in Chappelles Show…”This some good ass cheese. How come you didn’t tell me how good the cheese was?!”

sarahlage

On my skin, this actually did smell like caramel quite accurately, so I was surprised to see so many people saying this smells like hairspray or cleaning chemicals! I like it and it's not too expensive. A gourmand that is way less potent than Hypnotic Poison or the like.

alternateu

Incredibly sweet. Not the worst of the caramel-vanilla-type gourmand perfumes in that this one isn't immediately sickening, but it's still too sweet for me. That said, this is very well blended. It smells bright, round, and clean, despite being sweet.
Not my personal preference at all, but if you like sweet perfumes, give this one a shot.

Pinkmilktea85

If you like sweet (but not too sweet), powdery fragrances then you might like this Prada Candy! It's classy, feminine, cozy, with a hint of caramel. My husband is very picky with perfumes, he hates "gourmand" or sweet fragrances but he likes this one! So I'd say this is a pretty safe perfume. Just know that this doesn't project so people would not smell it on you unless they lean a bit closer :)

judeaqua

Smells like your hair is being blowdried after being sprayed with a cheap hairspray. And as it progresses, I get unripe pineapple and lemon scented toilet cleaner. My nose is overwhelmed by these smells and I'm wondering why would anyone want to smell like this? Waited desperately for more progression, but I hated the start. Lastly got an oxidised powder puff that belonged to someone in 1912 and you opened it in 2023 only to choke over it. Possibly the beauty of this scent lies in the ghost that stays after the intensity of the scent has died down. I'd really love to understand the view point of whoever thinks this is similar to the infusion line. What is this, Prada ? Sigh!

cxgrace

perhaps it was my skin chemistry??? but i got none of the caramel notes at all, it smelled like green sheen hairspray from the brand olive oil. sillage and longevity was also meh, 3~4 hours on skin and 4~5 hours on clothes

Morgan45

This is a little too musky and powdery for me. It's not offensive and I think it would smell nice on someone else nearby, but on me it's too much. Side note: the scent reminds me a LOT of Revlon Flex Sun & Sport shampoo that I used to use in the 90's.

TDSollog

A introductory "gourmand lite" for non-gourmand perfume people. It's sweet, but not too sweet. Cozy and welcoming. Lightly musky and powdery. Office friendly.

Samanthaheer

This is warm and cozy with a slightly sweet caramel and vanilla top note. After the dry down that benzoin, vanilla and musk combine to create a perfect late autumn, hint of syrup and forest. I was transported to late October with those warm sunny 60 degree days and the earthy, comforting smell of crushed red, yellow and orange leaves underfoot, slightly damp from the morning dew. This was a surprise delight for me as I gravitate towards musky, woodsy, amber scents and I think I may pick up a bottle just for the last two weeks of October and the first two weeks of November. A definite scent memory that I adore.

fragitiina

To me Prada Candy is sophisticated, classy goumand. It shares weirdly some very similar note that is prominent within all Prada fragrances I've tried, mostly it reminds me of their Infusion line. Hence Candy is very Prada! I love the caramel notes, it's very office safe perfume and altogether an interesting concept. I need to be careful not to overspray it... Overall, it's ok.

Erincess

Smells like dalgona

coffeebean83

I still contend that if this had been put in a more mature classy bottle and named appropriately this might have been Prada's "mon guerlain". I get the same snuggly comforting slightly sweet powdery vibe from this. It's far more mature smelling than the bottle and name suggest. Which is why people looking into this fragrance, expecting something super gourmand/youthful, are mostly disappointed. And the ones that might have loved this won't give it the time of day because of how it's presented(again, the name and bottle). I admit I was of this opinion but luckily I just happened to sample it one day. Now it's among my favorites.

Obsidian100

sits close to the skin and not over sweet. pleasant but no desire to press face into arms like some gourmands get me

Fenissa

Where most gourmand fragrances can be quite loud and brash, Prada Candy is a mellow, ethereal, tender mist of the most delicate beauty. An intimate, pillowy soft caramel gourmand, suitable for any season or occasion and I believe it transcends all ages. I have quite a large fragrance collection, and this is one of the very few bottles I need to replace because I keep running out. I especially love to wear it to bed after a very long and tiring day. I find it comforting and tender.
Longevity is around 4-6 hours on the skin, much longer on hair. Silage is intimate. It's a very graceful perfume.

dreamypepper

a very warm and musky scent, not something that comes off as sweet in my mind. opposite to my own perfume tastes which lean either fresh, clean and floral or sweet, bubbly notes. not a unique scent either

camphor_lover

This is the only sweet gourmand I like, probably because of the above listed con: “Barely sweet, not a strong candy scent.” If it didn’t come in a super cute Metropolis looking bottle or if it was marketed as a musk I might complain about its faintness, it’s hard to say. But as is, all I have to say is: mmm nice light caramel!!!!!!!

fairylightprincess

i love love love this, but it’s so (?) expensive for what it is 🙁 it sits super close to the skin + it’s v warm/cozy but it’s more b+bw than prada imo.

Jerseygirl28

I’m a gourmand lover all day everyday. This is not a true gourmand, this is I’m testing the waters barely tipping my toe into the world of gourmand to see if I like it type of scent. Perfect for that person. And because I was disappointed the name being so misleading I have made this a reach for once in awhile on a hot summer day when I’m missing the gourmands I could be wearing if fall would just hurry up and get here already type scent in my collection it will help me use it up and stop being so mad at it and no I will not repurchase. Now all that being said it is an ok scent close to skin, little projection light vanilla Carmel with a little very light musk that leaves the skin with a soft powder tone. This isn’t bad it’s really not its just not meant for gourmand lovers it’s meant for people who like a little something that’s cozy they can personally enjoy on themselves with out projecting there scent to others they may share a small space with and be confident if they have to give someone a hug or shoulder to cry on they smell warm and inviting when they do. Or a go to bed time scent you enjoy without it keeping you up all night . My final last issue is the price because it’s so light doesn’t last long or project your paying for the name and bottle to be displayed that’s not worth the cost to me personally. I can get out my BBW mist spray lightly and spend under 20$ for the same result ( I’m a BBW collector so this is not to shame anyone who uses them I’d be shaming myself as well that is not what I’m getting at here)
I just don’t like throwing away over 100$ for a light scent that not even complex by any means and to know BBW has done more complex scents then this and much cheaper I just can’t get past it all. But to each is there own I’m sure some people are in love with this scent and I’m happy for them it just not me sadly this go round.

snopea

i could wear this every day and never get sick of it. it’s not a gourmand, more of a cozy, powdery caramel / vanilla / benzoin. i think this frag is under appreciated bc of the name / bottle (personally i think the name is cheeky and cute and the bottle is beautiful and very prada).

Crocus

Unfortunately I don’t get any caramel from this and barely any vanilla. This dries down to a simple faint, powdery scent on me, almost a little iris-like. It’s pretty and I do really like it but a bit disappointing because I’ve been into food-y fragrances lately, lol. It’s a nice everyday scent.

Update 8/24/23: still love this fragrance but longevity is seriously lacking—it completely fades within 2 hours of overspraying

Lakreutter

Wait, what? Am I suddenly nose blind? I just doused my arm in this and all I can smell is that waxy crayon smell of old lipstick. I bought it from Sephora so I know it’s a real bottle. I’m so confused!!

stephm42120

I think this is perfect for where I live. I live in a tropical climate so I barely have any winter scents since we only have like 5 cold days in the entire year. Our fall season is more like an extended summer with rainy days so I rarely have the chance to wear heavy gourmand scents. I’ve been looking for a powdery and delicate sweet scent that is light enough to use for these days & I think I found it. I owned a small decant of this so I think the longevity is okay (4-5 hours). I imagine it has intimate projection & doesn’t project out there.

elfette

i havent bought this scent but smelt it at a nordstrom the other days... i feel this perfume is just so overrated?
theres more development in a bath and body spray that this perfume... i just dont get the hype, it smells like a middle school locker room.

shalla.marie

Love the scent powdery caramel with a hint of vanilla. But what's up with the longevity?! It doesn't last anymore than 20 minutes? I seem to have to layer it with something else for it to truly shine.

Dissapointed.

feuermaiden

I absolutely cannot handle powdery smells. They're suffocating to me. Prada Candy is no exception. This fragrance is more powdery than caramel and it really shows. It makes me want to cough when I smell it - like someone has actually flung some powder in the air around me. I do detect a little bit of the caramel notes, but not enough to make me change my mind.

0/10

erinstagram

I only did a test spray on my skin with this one, but it definitely comes on very powdery. I don't get any of the caramel or vanilla notes on my skin. With a name like Candy, I expected more sweetness!

Protectorofthekennel473:

Bragging about stealing a bottle of perfume is really not cool.

I'm going to retest this next time I get somewhere that carries it (if some low character thief hasn't stolen the tester). I always had trouble smelling this one, same with Viktor & Rolf Bon Bon.

Blizzie99

I really wish I liked this because the notes sound so good, but every time I smell it all I can smell is pure alcohol.

kellyitzme

In 2012 I bought a secondhand jacket from an online acquaintance who was getting rid of some old clothes. When I opened up the package she shipped it in, it smelled absolutely heavenly - it was cozy, warm, and sweet, but not in a childish way. I reached out to ask what she had sprayed it with, and she told me Prada Candy. I immediately bought a bottle and I wore it all throughout high school. That internet acquaintance is now a very successful actress. She probably doesn't remember me, but every time I see her on TV I remember that she introduced me to this glorious fragrance.

s2jkbrad

This is a second review on this perfume because I made the first before truly delving into the fruits and sugars and marshmallow patchoulis that became popular. I would like a bottle of this. This is warm, ambery and sweet, the way a shortening homemade pie crust is..... not super sweet or buttery, but infused well. With my chemistry, this is very ambery, with a balsamic almost bitter (but not almond sweet bitter) undertone and caramelized sugar. It's a softer scent on me and now I want a bottle!

Clairexoxo

Love this! It reminds me a lot of Penhaligon's Changing Constance. I get soft-powdery sweet caramel with a warm spiciness. Perfect for the Fall!

scnofthcrime

Most seem to be describing this as a gourmand so take my experience for what you will, but this smells like a sweet powdery fragrance to me. Not gourmand. Usually I don't like powdery fragrances, but I like this one a lot. It's cozy and somehow smells comforting and a little maternal (in a good way) to me. I get mainly powder, benzoin, musk and sugar. I don't know if I need to own this, but I've enjoyed my sample

Candypopinlove

This perfume has a pleasant caramel gourmand scent. It's lovely and simple, it doesn't overwhelm. However with that being said, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to buy this one again. I find that I have to overspray to actually smell it on me, and to others I'd imagine that's annoying af! It barely lasts and I hateeeee the bottle design! Like it's cute, but sometimes I like just sniffing my perfumes and with the clunky plastic in the way I can't even get whiff - but that's more of a personal problem lol! I only ever really wear this to they gym tbh.

malibubarbie

love this, perfect for winter and nights out. a nice powdery caramel and almost a hint of almond. great longevity. quite sweet tho so only buy if you like very sweet gourmand scents

honeyedclover

This is such a tricky fragrance! I was gifted this and immediately felt dread as I looked over the hot pink box and a rather juvenile name "Candy." I feared a childish, middle-schooler who just discovered Bath and Bodyworks, sugar coma of a scent. To my surprise, it wasn't that sweet at all. I will agree with others in saying there's a bit of a baby wipes smell within the notes; this along with the powdery note... an oddly clean-smelling fragrance? I do also smell a hint of
gourmand, a caramel but not quite as rich as you would expect. As the scent settles on your skin over a couple of hours, it is sensually musky. I honestly didn't know how to feel about it for a while as I wore it to bed for a couple of nights—on me, it lasts into the morning and it is ETERNAL when applied on clothing, the sillage is also safely intimate.

Do I like it? I'm still not sure, and it has been months! On the occasional days I reach for this—I either enjoy it or don't care for it— but do not outright hate it.

Overall, if you are a fan of sweet and gourmand scents, this scent may not be what you're looking for. If you enjoy powdery, maturely sweet, and strangely comforting scents, this may be more up your alley.

RougeRouge84

I'm a fan of gourmand fragrances so I was really looking forward to trying this. I sprayed it on my skin and was immediately hit with an awful odour of old lipstick from the 90s that's made of pig lard. Waxy, plastic, synthetic, no sweetness to be noticed at all. It smelled so bad on my skin that I had to wash it off after 30 min. It's a flat fragrance that doesn't really develop into anything. The caramel note is extremely synthetic, unpleasant and smells nothing like you expect caramel to smell. If you're looking for something fudge-like - this is NOT it.

anntdangg

Not too sweet. Quite simple and safe perfume for colder months.

LunaFortuna

I wanted to love this so badly. On paper, it sounds completely up my alley. I love caramel, I love powdery scents, I love sweet notes, musk, vanilla, and so forth. Every single note listed in this perfume, I love. I got a decant of this years ago and it smelled like straight up soap on my skin. I shrugged it off, thinking that maybe the decant had gone bad. I recently picked up a small 1oz bottle of this from a department store that I was at, because I really wanted to smell the beautiful notes that so many other people love! I sprayed this on my skin, and within an hour, I jumped into the shower. On my skin, it somehow morphs into a soapy laundry detergent smell, and not even in a good way. I have some scents that are clean and give me a fresh soapy vibe, but this was just very off-putting. I don't smell the sweetness, the caramel, or any of that. It just smells like straight up soap or laundry detergent on me.

Obviously, this is an issue with my body chemistry not meshing well with the fragrance, but it's just really disappointing, nevertheless. Definitely try to get a sample of it before committing to a full bottle. If the issue isn't just body chemistry, then I'm perhaps anosmic to something on here, which is why I only get soapy notes and none of the sweet and pleasant smelling ones that people rave about. I really wanted to love it and wish it worked for me.

Pauliinasik

This is absolutely beautiful. I’ve rebought many times. One of my all time favorites! So comforting and warm, but not overly sweet.

meriel

This is honestly one of my least favourite scents of all time: somehow sickly sweet and powdery. Poor sillage, mediocre longevity.

literarylottie

I love caramel gourmand scents, and was excited to try this one after hearing rave reviews. I don't know what it is about my skin chemistry, but this scent is AWFUL on me. I've never had such a visceral negative reaction to a perfume. There is an acrid, burnt-plastic note that is nothing like any perfume I've smelled before. It lasts long past the dry-down, too. I experienced the exact same burnt plastic note when trying on Prada Candy Night, so it is clearly some shared note or ingredient. Unfortunately the scent lasts a long time, so I had to smell that terrible plastic smell all day.

tgirl1991

While this isn't my personal taste, I think this fragrance has some pros and cons. The pros - it's actually a pretty layered scent. When I first sprayed it, it came off mostly powdery, and then it changed and grew a light sweet smell, and eventually, I got the caramel and vanilla. As far as these sweet "candy"-like fragrances go, I think Prada's is relatively sophisticated. The biggest con with this fragrance is the longevity, or lack thereof. It sits pretty close to the skin but really only lasts a few hours.

Scent Description: Powdery Caramel
Sillage: Arms Length
Longevity: Low - 2 Hours
Presentation: Cute but elegant round bottle

Icarel

Even without the name, I associate this fragrance with the Werthers Original candies. The taste of these candies and the smell of Candy by Prada are really similar according to my senses. Blindly, on a piece of paper, I would definitely say it smells like vintage powdered sweets. It also has just a bit a make-up products feel for me, like a vintage translucent powder that Marilyn had vibes.

Really powdery caramel that turn musky after a while, it is lovely and quite particular from what is on the market at the moment or even back then in 2011. It's kinda a classic, a great first scent and a must have, at least once I guess, for powdery lovers like me. I would also say a good first and shy step towards sweet and/or powdery scents if you prefer citrusy, fresher or floral scents. Warm but subtle, it's a discreet fragrance with a rather moderate performance that won't make you shine but it's enough to make the curious ones get closer to you or the closest ones to know what you're smelling. Or at least to know where that powdery caramel smell comes from hahaha It's not a skin scent but I'll say just the next level up.

I associate it more with night occasions and rather cold weather conditions, therefore, it is a perfume that I love to wear for a dinner in a rather chic restaurant or bar, an evening gathering and/or a bit dress-up event in winter.

Such a pretty bottle that is eye catching, it is a nice design.

Elektra17

Smells really good but it's super, syrupy sweet to me, bordering on cloying. It's strong, feminine, cute. I enjoyed this fragrance very much in my 20s, and it served me well running around NYC on date nights, but I don't reach for it anymore. I can still wear it now in my 30s but I think my tastes have changed. I do still appreciate a gourmand but it lacks the layers and complexity I typically like. I would like to always have a bottle on hand just for the memories attached to this fragrance.

LulaValentine

I just found my little dabber of this and totally forgot how much I love this scent. It’s just the right amount of sweet without being juvenile but it’s not super mature smelling either. I love the bottle too; it’s adorable and just looks so damn good sitting on your dresser. I’m so glad I found this little bottle! I’ll definitely be getting more.

I also really like that the sweetness isn’t too heady for me. Like I’m not going to become nauseated by this scent if I accidentally apply too much. I hate when that happens with a good sweet frag cause then I can’t touch it for who knows how long.
Haha, it’s almost like that one alcohol that made you so sick, you swore you’d never drink it again and when you do, you really have to brace yourself. Lol. Anyways I’m glad this perfume’s sweetness doesn’t do that. This is totally a classic.

Mea.fleur

I really wanted to like this, but all I get is baby powder on my skin. I thought this would be a safe blind buy based on the notes, but I had to return. D&G The Only One did for me what this didn’t.

Athreané

It's such a sweet and yummy caramel scent! I couldn't stop smelling my wrists after I sprayed it on. I think it's better for colder seasons such as winter and autumn as when I tested it in the summer it was more cloying and sickening. It also gives off a warm and cozy feeling.
It's more on the youthful side as well, but a bit more mature and sophisticated than Ariana Grande's fragrances (which I love so much).
It has a moderately weak projection on me, but personally this isn't much of an issue to me since perfumes that come off too strongly give me headaches.
Overall, I still like it! I'll use it a bit more to see if it becomes one of my favourites. <3

Cesu

Ok this parfume really perfect. It’s like an addiction. I read the other messages but it’s not true. For sure it’s long lasting the thing is the smell is soft.. It’s like second skin. Luxury. Sophisticated . Love love love

Candylover666

This perfume makes me sad. I first tried this perfume in January 2012, i sprayed a bit of it on my wrist and the sleeve of my coat and I was able to smell it for another month on that sleeve.
I decided to purchase it in 2022. I absolutely love this smell, it’s so powdery and sweet and cute, it’s so beautiful but sadly the longevity is extremely weak.
Prada doesn’t have the cheapest perfumes so I honestly think it’s overpriced.
This is a perfume that you really need to overspray or you will barely be able to smell it.

CathSvila

When I first reviewed Prada Candy about 600 years ago, I was totally anosmic to it. I got Nothing. At. All. Now, whether there’s been a reformulation, or my scent DNA has changed, I can finally smell it, and I’m so happy I can. It’s stunning in its simplicity, with each note merrily floating away for the next to come forth, from the top note through to the cozy base. It’s become my bedtime fragrance; sweet, slightly boozy caramel, with an oh so soft finale. It’s a recipe for sweet dreams.

candieskulls

One of the few fragrances I genuinely can't seem to smell. There's a whisper of caramel and musk and before you can get cozy with it -- it's gone. Barely detectable on paper and disappears almost immediately for me on skin. Cute bottle though, I'll give it that. If any perfume needs to join the "Intense" flanker train it's this one.

Malinkabby

oh but its so cozy! very pleasent caramel fragrance, deliciously sweet and perfect for the colder days. i can already imagine layering this with something like bum bum cream for the maximum effect. This one i definitely appreciate more now than when i was younger. powdery gourmand

WhiteFlowerPrincess

I don't think I'm entirely off-base here, eventhough yes I'm a white floral notes lover now. I used to be into very sweet and also spicy fragrances once. I used to wear Shalimar and Alaïa for women once, as well as Prada Amber and Sisley Eau de Soir.

It is possible for the combination of the powdery notes and benzoin to create an aroma that some people may associate with the smell of mothballs. This can be due to the presence of a compound called coumarin, which is found in both powdery notes and benzoin and is also used in mothballs. Adding a citrus note or two for instance might make it smell a bit fresher and less stale.

So people can disagree with my opinion of course, but I don't think what I think for no reason. A friend of mine who also smelt it also got that "moth ball" smell.

cats_eye

Don't listen to White Flower Princess.. This smells nothing like what she's describing. Obviously someone who's into white flowers isn't going to like a fragrance that's mostly benzoin and musk. This is a sweet, powdery fragrance that smells like a fairy tail. It's not a best seller for no reason.

WhiteFlowerPrincess

Terrible smelling perfume. It just smells like those mothballs you get to protect your clothes in your closet. I don't think that the notes in this perfume are very harmonious or blended well, resulting in a not very wearable composition. Something smells off about it and synthetic as well. I possibly don't think caramel and benzoin go all that well together and I tend to find that these two notes clash with each other. I also don't like balsamic, warm spicy or amber scent profiles. It is also tooth-achingly sweet to my nose and gives me a headache. Probably one of my least favorite women's perfumes in my opinion.

(PS: please don't down-vote and remove my comment this time. I'm only telling my opinion and people deserve to hear all sides honestly. It's just an opinion and shouldn't be taken so seriously. If you like it, you can continue wearing it. I won't wear it though. Plus if you like it, you will be glad to hear its sillage is huge and fills the room and that it lasts about 12 hours plus on the skin. I know from smelling this inside a Sephora from a free tester I was given.)

Parfumistajr

I recently tried Prada Candy and it was not exactly what I expected. I was expecting a scent that would make me feel irresistible and confident, but it didn't have that effect on me. However, I found it really comforting and cozy, like a warm hug inside the bottle. The scent is a powdery mix of benzoin and caramel, but not overly sweet as I expected. It's actually quite light and close to the skin. Only a few people were able to smell it on me, but they all seemed to really like it. It's definitely more of a "teenage girl scent" but I don't mind that. Overall, I think Prada Candy is a nice fragrance, but it's not my choice for a night out. It's more of a casual scent that makes me feel good. Also, my boyfriend seems to really like this fragrance.

soft and lowkey, won't offend anyone but as someone who usually prefers stronger perfumes this one is almost too bland. it is sweet and powdery but that's almost all I get - no caramel or even vanilla, and certainly does not remind me of candies. also the longevity is very bad, even drugstore bodysprays have more longevity than this. an okay test but a skip for me.

mirrorghost

received a free sample of this...i tend to dislike caramel notes but luckily the caramel is soft here and not overly sweet, the powdery notes combine to sort of smell like burnt sugar. this is one of the softer caramel-gourmand scents i've experienced and i appreciate that. usually they are way too cloying but this is not. i think the powdery notes help. if i had to smell a sweet scent on someone, i'd choose something like this because of it's subtlety, however, i'm not sure i could wear this myself.

TRmen

Whenever I smell that perfume, I never smell anything. Yes I smell only the paper.

Andy224

Nice and powdery scent but is gone before I’m done writing this review.

mystoryexchange

Hello All! I have a sample of this Candy perfume. I can say it is so good. It is powdery sweet. It is totally feminine. The projection is not amazing. It is a regular on-the-shelf fragrance to me, but the blend is good.
In 2000s, I had Giorgio Armani Sensi, which is not produced anymore. This Candy perfume is maybe 98% of similar to that discontinued Sensi perfume, FYI. If you are looking for Sensi, just go and buy Candy. Problem solved.
I think the price is a little bit high for such a low-longevity perfume. I would buy the full bottle if I find any discount.

girldeadbug

Went to Sephora and had a testing marathon. Powdery clean scent. Used to smell like baby shit to me a year ago. Years before that, this was a powdery sweet scent that I loved. I have no idea if this has been getting reformulated every few years or if I just interpret it differently throughout my life. Won’t purchase.

narehate

Nanachi.

MargieRoo

Someone else may have said it - this is a doll head scent to my nose. I had a My Little Pony in the 90s with a green mane and this is close enough to activate that scent memory, and also grown up enough to wear in my 30s.

XOXO_marcel

So strange but even though no flowers are listed, I interpreted this as a floral scent. I have no idea why but my brain just doesn't read this as an amber/vanilla gourmand. I do pick up on the caramel which adds a lot of depth, and of course the powder - maybe the powder is what I'm sensing as "floral".
I really like it! It smells mature, but not old, and reminds me of Flowerbomb but is MUCH easier to take in. This is a classic, timeless scent, which I wasn't expecting. It's like being in an opulent flower garden and getting just the slightest whiff of butterscotch in the breeze.

SophiaViolette

Powdery dark caramel opening, smells more mature than what I expected, not childish. Cozy, sweet. I like benzoin here, which adds some ambery and balsamic sweetness to the perfume.
The powdery note makes me want to sneeze the first minutes… Reminds me of the bottom of a purse with powder makeup and some melted caramels.

Ideal for caramel lovers, I would personally layer it with some leathery and ambery perfumes.

I put this on and I kept smelling cigarettes mixed with perfume. You know the smell when someone smokes alot and they just smell like stale cigarettes, then they try to cover it with perfume? That's what this smells like. I want to like the actual perfume scent, but I can't get past that cigarette undertone.
Also, I do not smoke nor does anyone in my household.
Very disappointed.

scarski91

Smells gorgeous, like: powdery musky caramel- however this does not last long on me at all 1hr max & for that reason I won’t be repurchasing it. It tends to last a little longer on clothes than skin, not much longer though.

Smells great however has poor lasting power. You really are paying for the name - I’ve learnt that lesson.

Allthingssparkle

There have been plenty of times when I try a scent on a card first and then try it on my skin -- and hate it. It's rare when it's actually the opposite. This is one of those. I LOVE this!

I do think the title "Candy" is a misnomer because I suspect most people think hard, sugary, fruity candy -- which this certainly is not. There's nothing bright, frilly, gum-popping-hair-in-a-messy-bun-girls-just-wanna-have-fun about this to me. It's a mature fragrance, in my opinion. If I had to describe it, I'd say that at first spray it's reminiscent of Valentino's Donna Born in Roma (which almost caused me not to get a sample since I own DBIR), but on drydown it's reminiscent of Killian's Good Girl Gone Bad.

In fact. I'd say that, to me, Good Girl Gone Bad is Prada Intense.

There's a smooth, buttery, very slight "celery"-esque essence to it. I know that sounds funny, but that's what it reminds me of.

To me, it's just delicious. It's like smooth, hot buttery melt-in-your-mouth kettle corn.

Not sure what other people are experiencing with the sillage and projection, but I don't have any issues with either. Perhaps bad samples or their body chemistry...? But I just REVEL in the wafts I get of this. I've sprayed it in the morning and enjoyed it hours and hours throughout the workday. Now, that said -- it's also winter right now, so I'm wearing sweatshirts and sweaters. Some fragrances do better when warm clothes are being worn because your body heat works with it. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying a full bottle.

smccmurphy

As advertised, powdery caramel. Nothing groundbreaking and there are cheaper things out there to the same effect. Nice though!

Marinka71

Opening: baby powder and perfumed baby wipes.
Drydown: perfumed baby wipes.
Cheap smelling and very weak.
My husband says it reminds him of cheap perfumes from 80ies we girls used as teeny boppers.I agree.
Imagine that Prada itself would go with such a scent.

JoyousOne

Someone sd this was way too overpriced? Its $135 for 2.7 oz retail, but this has been out since 2011. I ordered the same size from a discount spot for $61. If you're going to trash it, it shouldn't be for the price. Btw...I la la la la LOVE Prada Candy.

Lovaloo

As many have said, this doesn't smell like candy.

It's baby powder & soft amber, there are also vanilla & musky notes in the base. It's warm and sweet but on the softer, smoother side. Supposedly has "caramel" in it, and it has some sticky, ambery sweetness, but this perfume doesn't smell as sugary as newer gourmand releases. Reminds me of 90s amber vanilla scents like Liz Claiborne Spark, its not as interesting, but a bit more modern smelling.

Subtle, inoffensive, and decent lasting power. Might be a good option for the workplace if you want a "classy" gourmand. I think it's on the generic side, and for a powdery amber perfume it's overpriced, so it's a pass from me. You can find more interesting perfumes that are similar to this one at a fraction of the price. You're paying for the packaging and the Prada name.

Edit~ here's a list of inexpensive powdery amber vanilla perfumes that smell better than Prada Candy:

Toujours Moi
Blue Waltz
LouLou
Coty Vanilla Musk
Liz Claiborne Spark
Anne Klein II

Adjr1087

I used to want this so so bad a couple of years ago. Now I find it so outdated, powdery, plain and simple. I don't like it anymore. Not even a bit :(

LoveBitch246

Perfectly nice, but basic. Smells like a caramel dusted with scented powder. I remember it being more unique when it first came out, but there are so many sweet gourmands now that Candy just doesn’t stand out. I can’t imagine anyone disliking it or being offended by it though.

jellyliyah

Smells soo good. I just wish the longevity was better. I've been told I smell like baby powder when wearing this

Sophia97

To be very honest I think it is little overrated. I wouldn't buy again by myself sure.

Mia21

This has no sillage at all!! I am literally shocked how much you gotta overspray .

vsmr

My husband said this smells like pancakes with sprinkles.

Likilichi

This perfume keeps catching part of my brain off guard so I find myself asking in what is undeniably a jealous tone, “who the eff smells sooo good!” And then I realize it’s me.

habiba ahmed

i don't get the vanilla in here at all.at first spray it reminds me of a medicine👎 and the dry down smells like vintage makeup..overall i don't hate it but i don't love too..it's not my cup of tea ..and yes it projects really bad

LEM922

Received a sample of this in the mail. I was actually pretty excited to smell this because I've never smelled the original candy before. I have to say… This does smell nice, but I can barely smell it! For an eau de parfum, the strength is laughable. There's absolutely no sillage to this... Maybe I got a bad sample? I literally cannot smell this. I'll give it a couple of days… Maybe try a different time and it'll be different. But for now? This is colored water. Pretty disappointing.

Edit: tried again today, and I can actually smell it this time, but I definitely had to overspray in order to do so. The smells really nice, like I absolutely love this fragrance, but the staying power is terrible. The throw is awful. If they just made this project a little more and last a little longer, I would definitely invest in a bottle. But this has body mist performance… And for an EDP? I simply can't justify that.

Creamy_ambrette

This is a total let down!!
Does it smell lovely? Yes!
However, it has horrible longevity, little to no sillage unless you overspray and it feels like to me as soon as you spray it, it’s all base notes- no complexity or journey through top notes to base. It’s usually priced around $100 or more for a 2.7 oz and it’s designer - they can afford to create a lasting fragrance! I’m so glad I found a full, 2.7 oz tester on Mercari for $38 and didn’t pay retail for this because I would feel ripped off.
This is an EDP and in my opinion, Candy L’eau - and EDT has better performance, sillage and more complexity.
I do want to try other flankers: Candy Night for example but as for the original, while cozy and maternal (makes me want to wear this when I’m nursing my babies) it’s too weak a performer to recommend or repurchase.

silverlocusts

First impression is powdery incense with a hint of sweet musk, but it easily calms down to a very creamy skin scent. I don't necessarily think that the "candy" name fits it super well as it is not tooth-achingly sweet, but rather a sophisticated balance of sweet powder with some depth in the base notes. I wouldn't say this is a makeup/lipstick scent like Lipstick On or French Kiss, but it is absolutely in that vein with the retro powder-resin accord. I am not violently jolted back to a 1940s boudoir with talc and iris in the air, but rather gently reminded of a retro sort of femininity without it being kitschy. (Nothing against kitsch, I love it, but I don't always want it in perfume, nor do I want such elaborate scent stories all the time that would keep my from forging my own.) I definitely think Candy EDP would be bomb for layering as it does cling very well to my skin and the base is super smooth. This has been around for eons and wasn't really on my radar due to the bottle, but I think I am gonna hunt down an inexpensive bottle as a bed scent and for layering. It smells very old fashioned in a way, and I don't mean that as an insult. As if a "grandma perfume" had been modernized. I am super into it.

LilB311

Well, dang! I have been eyeing this for years. I even removed smelling it years ago in store several times and loving it. I had a great discount coupon, so I decided to buy a full bottle, and I was so excited! However-
I was sorely let down! This fragrance literally smelled like NOTHING. AT. ALL. I don’t know what has happened with perfumes. When I worse them as a teenager/throughout my 20s, perfumes smelled so much better. It seems as if almost every new bottle of perfume I buy, I end up disappointed. Anyways- I couldn’t smell anything barely at all, it didn’t last more than 5 minutes on my skin until I couldn’t smell it anymore.
Hopefully it was just a bad batch or something.
It really seems like perfumes are not what they used to be! Have they watered them all down, or is my nose just going blind?! (31-almost 32y/o F) for reference.

Hifza

This scent is amazing. This should definitely be part of one's collection. A little more sweet but yet very good. It stays for like 8 -9 hours.

HoneyRum

I avoided trying this for a really long time, because I thought it would be way too sweet for me (mostly due to the name) but I decided to pick up a few samples and I /really/ like it! It’s definitely sweet but the powdery and warm aspects of this perfume balance it out so it doesn’t become cloying. The lasting power is decent on me and it projects nicely but it isn’t overbearing. I’m not going to pick it up right now since I’m working through a few bottles of other winter fragrances, but this fall I’ll probably pick up a bottle

JoyousOne

This is a full bodied fragrance. Its olfactory family is spicy gourmand. Its warm, creamy, luscious, & decadent. Its sweet but not cloying like bubble gum & cotton candy. Its caramel espresso fill me up to savor on your tongue, and eat me up if you're married loveliness. Truly this is a whole sophisticated woman bouquet. Its unmistakable and stands out in a crowd. It gives the, "I belong with a distinguished gentleman, walk with confidence, and will set the atmosphere divine."

If Prada Candy was a wine, it would be the one Jesus made at the wedding in Cana bc its what you think of when you have saved the best for last miraculously.

She is intense and passionate and each droplet drizzles like a glaze against my melanated mocha.

Im so blessed to have received her. I love sweet so this is right up and down my alley!

lanajito

This doesn't smell like candy at all! I tried this on back in 2013 and again in 2023 and I thought at my nose would become more refined, but the fragrance was still a muddled disappointment as I couldn't detect any of the notes.

Sweet&Fruity

I actually like this one. It smells a little like Hypnotic Poison to my nose, some of the notes are definitely the same, but this is a lot less almond and a lot more caramel/vanilla, with an almost soapy freshness to it. The notes work surprisingly well together, it almost smells like Dove soap, mixed with HP, doused with vanilla essential oil. I see it doesn’t have much love here, which is sad, but in my opinion, with my body chemistry, it plays nicer and smells better on me than HP does. Both sillage and longevity are moderate to weak, unfortunately - and this I can agree with along with the other reviewers here - for the price, you’d expect it to last a LOT longer than it does. But if you look past that, this is a feminine, sweet, warm fragrance, with just enough cosy powdery freshness to elevate it above the usual generic vanilla blah-blah-blah.

Meghan_why

It's pretty but I had to put my nose directly on my skin to even smell the fragrance. Projection is horrible and it's so subtle. If you want something close to the skin, this is for you but it's so hard to even pick up on.

joikgirl

I was expecting more from this one. Really all over the place, I guess my nose doesn't like caramel at all cut I didn't get any again. Just vanilla and musk. Boring and expensive. Would use it if it was free or a gift but I would never waste my own money on it.

osakinuit

not really sure what I was expecting but looking at the notes i for sure expected something I’d like but it’s just boring in my opinion :( just this type of scent to put on to make yourself smell somewhat pretty… I like it but not gonna buy it again for sure, as for edp the longevity and projection are awful, there are edts that are much better

kel0315

I love prada candy. My ex gifted this to me for valentine's day one year because I was eyeing it for awhile. When I looked up the notes, I knew I would like it. I tend to like a lot of simple, linear perfumes. Prada candy is like a cozy warm hug from your favorite aunt. It doesn't smell mature but it's not super youthful either. I don't like to put age restrictions on perfume, but I feel like this scent is very versatile. It is gourmand so I wear this more during the winter and colder seasons. To me you definitely get that caramel powderiness right away and when it dries down it has such a warm and cozy feeling. I have a sensitive nose and I never find it overpowering or nauseating. It's so comforting to me for some reason. The longevity is not bad, but it doesn't project far or have a good sillage. I find it stays close to the skin which is something that doesn't bother me. When I wear it to work I am still able to smell it at the end of the day, but I do have to get close to my arm to smell it. My only complaint is the nozzle. The nozzle is awful. It just squirts out in a heavy stream rather than a fine mist. But other than that, I love it. This perfume is super special to me.

AmandaBucik

I tried testing this three times.. i cannot detect any smell AT ALL? I just smell alcohol. Im so sad i cannot smell this because the notes look perfect for me

t4rts

Smells much better on my mom than it does on me. I don't get any of the warmth when I tried it on myself, and smelled verrrryyyyy artificial. On my mom it smells like what I see everyone rave about on this. Definitely depends on your skin

downtomars13

Nice enough but way overhyped. Lasting power is awful. Doesn't project at all. Smells like burnt vanilla.

Dee97

This is a very nice, cosy, buttery, sweet perfume. But it doesn’t last or project at all!

CarmenNola23

I’m indifferent about this fragrance. I wouldn’t make the investment if you are wanting something that is very long lasting or that trails and lingers behind you.
That being said, it is a nice sweet smell, beautiful bottle and it falls in line with many designer scents that appeal to certain people. I just feel like it needs a few more notes to make it really shine- and that’s probably why it has several flankers. My friend loves this scent and I can sometimes smell it on her (subtly) she told me she sprays it in her hair after she’s done styling it. Gonna try that. May also try to pair it with another sweet scent like Jimmy Choo.

Bubbles1964

Prada Candy is the Queen Mother of them all. This isn't my kind of scent but it also doesn't bother me either.

I get a little bit of the dreaded baby wipes smell association, but if I had to gender and label this perfume, it reminds me of a mom with a toddler. Whenever I see a train of kids and a preschool teacher holding hands as they walk the crosswalk, this is the scent I imagine.

MistyDayyy

I’m quite surprised I liked this scent. It’s very sweet! I normally hate overly sweet scents, but I think the musk and powder won me over. It’s very sweet (Caramel note), but it somehow works. This is a really young scent in my opinion.

searching for signature

At first I really didn’t like this but it has grown on me a bit. It does smell a lot like baby wipes but sweeter. I kind of like it but also don’t.

Perfectleebeautiful

This is an interesting take on a gourmand. It reminds me a bit of the caramels that used to get stuck to the paper (heavy on the paper & a lot of powder on the outside). To me it’s very dated. I feel like this scent would have fit in more so during the 80s. It gives me fluffy ponytail & bright clothing vibes (probably due to the excessive powderiness mixed with an underlying caramel note). I guess if I ever get in that type of mood, I’ll finish off my sample. Otherwise, it’s not really my cup of tea.

RobynCrabtree

Finally retiring this beauty. She smells so good, but a little too sweet and youthful for me now. I associate this strong caramel with my teenage years - early 20's.

Addkat19

I can understand why others might enjoy this... I just do not. I can definitely smell the warmth of the caramel and the powder, but it just stings my nose- maybe its the benzoin? Very over powering on me. Not my kind of sweet... too heavy. Will be gifting.

sopelka

When I first got my Prada Candy bottle, I didn’t appreciate it right away. I was on a Shalimar binge at the time, and Candy felt too simple and linear compared to the glorious Shalimar evolution. Last night I came across Katie Puckrik’s YouTube review of Candy (I am obsessed with her pithy, eloquent, honest and humorous style, btw). Katie said it smelled like some Polish fudge, and overall praised Candy so much that I couldn’t wait to revisit it.

I poured it over myself this freezing winter morning, and I am in caramel heaven. I am not a gourmand lover, but Candy manages to stay away from being sticky sweet due to soft powdery notes. For those of you who come from former Soviet states, Candy will most likely remind of boiled condensed milk. It is very similar to dulce de leche, a favorite childhood sweet treat that everyone knew how to make.

Bomber81

Someone please help me!
Blind bought this and just sprayed it on.. it's taking me back to kindergarten. My teacher wore something that smelled just like this, except it was mid 80s! Of course hers was a powerhouse bomb of a perfume, but I NEED to know what it was! Does anyone know??
PM me if you do, please and thanks!

Siennai

This is a really easy dumb reach for me this autumn winter. I like the caramel. I like the musk and the vanilla.

But that powder note. Exactly like baby wipes. I don't usually agree with comments when they say this about other perfumes but this one definite reminds me of baby wipes.

Not a fan of benzoin either. Pulls petrol for me.

I will use up what I have and not repurchase.

femmefumes

It's like baby wipes but better and sweeter. There's something versatile about it. I'd love it in cold weather, hot too. Also casual yet formal. It's caramel sweet and all the powdery notes make it subtle or elegant. I'm kinda into it & would wear it

hotbaby1

My review from when you used Candy: Candy was my signature fragrance for several years. I now decided to switch it up. It’s sweet and very intriguing, sexy sexy sexy sexy sexy! Powerful perfume, fills the room, you get noticed! I smell caramel and vanilla mixed together. Overload of caramel. Prada didn’t play games when it put together this perfume. I highly recommend it. It’s WARM. Only for winter! Not intoxicating like hypnotic poison though. Lasts forevaaa
My review now: Candy was my signature fragrance for years. I used this on repeat, but now that I put it on my skin again for the first time, all my nose picks up is the caramel on the opening, and heavy powdery musk in the Drydown. Either my nose has changed or the juice I have from 7-8 years ago went bad. The result is I hated it.

elleayjay

I really wanted to like this. Based on the name I had an idea of what it should smell like. I was thinking kind of sweet and possibly bright. I was at Macy’s and the perfume lady sprayed it on my wrist and it was extremely offensive. Nothing like I thought it would be. It’s very warm which I love, but the smell is off putting to me. I’ve gone back and smelled it a few times after, thinking it would be different but it’s just not pleasant at all.
