Valaya by Parfums de Marly is a Floral Fruity fragrance for women. This is a new fragrance. Valaya was launched in 2023. The nose behind this fragrance is Quentin Bisch. Top notes are Aldehydes, White Peach, Bergamot and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Orange Blossom, Petalia, Lily-of-the-Valley, Vetiver, Nympheal™ and Mahonia; base notes are Musk, Ambroxan, Akigalawood and Vanilla.

A luminous aura and at the same time an intangible softness. Like the scent of fresh cotton, Valaya unfolds a sensual fragrance nuance dedicated to the power of femininity.

Beyond the artificial and beyond time, it awakens an intimate feeling, a universal emotion, a deep breath of mindfulness. Its formula evokes the delicate and pure skin of a woman in all its beauty.

“One of the biggest challenges was to create a fragrance that is fresh and delicate, but at the same time very powerful and expressive. Valaya is reminiscent of the feel of cotton against the skin. A cocoon-like perfume that is sensual and elegant at the same time. A white perfume full of contrasts that is delicate yet incredibly alluring.” – Julien Sprecher (brand creator)

This is my favourite of the PDM women's range. Not as sickeningly sweet as Delina Exclusif to my nose but still sweet and musky. Plus that peach note. Just love it.

Lykopa

Not gonna lie yall, I like this one but it was NOT a crowd favorite. I walked in a room and someone immediately said “who smells like rubbing alcohol?” ….yeah. My dad later told me in the car to never wear this again and that I smelled like the hand towelettes they give you on airplanes. It’s slightly fruity in the opening but the projection is alllll aldehydes and gives off a bubblegum vibe to me. Womp womp. A :) for me but a >:( for others.

butterflybrat

Holy moly. Literally - that's what I said when I first sprayed this perfume. No one's lying when they say this perfume is STRONG and ETERNAL. I sprayed this perfume last night (~17 hours ago) and it's still fully there! It's the first thing I smelled when I woke up! I'm shocked.
It's definitely aldehydic and musky, but not in a Chanel No.5 kind of way. It's not obnoxious, but I can absolutely see how this can be headache-inducing for some. It's screechy, but not in a bad way? You really shouldn't over spray this one and it's not for sensitive noses. It's overall a very pretty scent, but nothing groundbreaking or complex. If you don't have anything like this in your collection and want something with outstanding performance, this is a good choice. In my case, I'm not a fan of white florals but they're blended nicely in this one so I can handle it. I think I may purchase a full bottle as a 30th birthday gift to myself, as it feels elegant, classy, and nice for a night out, work event, etc. Something about it feels special, and it's the only perfume I've tried that projects and lasts this long. Don't think I'd be able to wear this every day, but it's unique for me!

MellowR0se

This is my signature scent. I remember smelling this for the first time, last year, and I want immediately mesmerised by it. I couldn’t stop smelling the tester strip. I even took it home with me, and I could smell it days later. I also sprayed a bit in my jacket, and the next day, I met up with a friend and got so many compliments. I now know why, it’s the dry down. That’s the best part of the perfume. It almost feels like it’s 2 different perfumes. Now, when I want to wear it, I spray tomorrow’s clothes, the night before, so when I wear it, it’s already the dry down version. I get why some at its “screeching” or “harsh”. That’s just the opening though. It also leans quite masculine to me. All in all, I LOVE and adore this fragrance.

UlianaM

I've spent a week with this fragrance and I was really enjoying it. I'd agree it's polarizing. Definitely not love at first sight. When I first tried it, it reminded of a washed hospital floor after somebody threw up :)
But...months after and 15 additional Celsius degrees outside made it work. It's a citrusy peachy start that turns into a fresh skins smell and it may seem like it's gone, but then suddenly you catch a trail and realize it's Valaya. Sometimes the trail is more citrucy, sometimes more sandalwood like, sometimes musky, sometimes something sweet...
So it's a like from me, but I am still not sure I liked the dry down and the musky part. My boyfriend doesn't like it.

I don't think I'd recommend blind-buying this one. It's.. unusual. Very complex fragrance hard to understand. But it's worth it. If you get a chance- try it. To me it's a perfume riddle which I'd love to (probably) meet again

Pariswhenitrains

I dont usually write reviews but this is one of the only perfumes I've smelled and truly loved. I know it's a polarizing scent so if anyone has a bottle they are disappointed in I'd love to buy it or a decant because the retail price is so expensive.

koxayous

hmmm I was expecting more from Marly-Bisch duo, this one fell flat for me.

rather generic white musk, fruit and floral aspects are all muted. the opening is slightly sour, powdery, fresh.... not much to say really

settles with a skin-but-better peachy powder, very similar to a peach yoghurt scent

Ding950524

I hate screechy peach note, it completely ruins everything in this fragrance. It mixes up with the citrus note and musk and makes it smell like bug spray. To me any fragrance smells so artificial with the screechy peach note in.

Printeza7

This is my third favourite after Delina and Safanad! I find creamy and warm, touch of musk but not too much. I don't find it fresh as such, still deep and rich. I love it :-)

Nihal-la

Valaya is good but not that special, it’s overrated. It’s so smiliar to Dolce &Gabbana Light Blue it’s just more woody and long lasting!

francinereap

I am so upset with this fragrance as I am a fan of the house. On paper this fragrance is beautiful and I can really smell the citrus in the opening as well as the peach. But on my skin it’s pulling straight musk and aldehydes. It’s overwhelming. I wish that the scent I got on paper reflected on my skin

Doriii

To me, the opening smells like heaven, but the more it dries down the less special it is in my opinion

Farfalla_

This is a mix of light blue and oriana. Fesh and sweet at the same time. Very nice one!

deolaD

I wish I got what everyone else got from this. To me it’s so synthetic and headache inducing. Like freshly washed laundry with way too much bleach and vinegar. The dry down is nice but waiting for the opening and mid to go away is a waiting game.

midsommarhäxa

Valaya is the only PdM that I like- I know I’m out of the norm on this but I find this house’s collection to be totally overwhelming and everything smells to me like an expensive candle fragrance made with cheap materials packaged to look high end.
But of course Quentin Bisch made a beautiful creation for them- Valaya is a soft spring day, fresh florals in the dewy air, aldehydes done right with a light touch. I also appreciate that the Ambroxan used here is light and doesn’t dominate at all, which I usually find to be a problem with that material. It’s a clean, lightly fruity and floral freshie- it’s SO good. If you’re like me and are not a fan of PdM you may enjoy this one.

vintaqe

This smells just like Fleur Narcotique by Ex Nihilo, which is one of my most favorite fragrances of all time. There is an extra little bit of orange burst at the opening, but the dry down is the exact same! This is the same perfumer as FN, so I’m just surprised at the projection/longevity between the 2. I was told by someone that they could smell me immediately exiting my vehicle over 50ft away, so this is a BEAST compared to FN. It is so well blended that most people have a hard time distinguishing this as a floral fragrance. I do not get the same vibes as everyone else who says this reminds them of fresh laundry. This doesn’t have any kind of similarities to me. It almost has a zesty candy dry down.

I am bummed that I love this one so much. I have 3 bottles of FN edp because the projection was so poor and then dropped $450 on the extrait. I wish this had come out sooner.

amaliacm12

Very complex "freshie". The orange blossom it's very prominent for me initially then on my skin it becomes very musky and woody. My husband described it as fancy.. whatever that means 🤔 edit: I'm in love with the dry down.

dandelionsandfire

i wouldn't describe it as a comforting scent at all, it's more like a clean linens washed with laundry detergent and A LOT of bleach. if you ever got a dizzying headache from smelling bleach, this is the exact type of headache that i got from it. also makes my throat feel scratchy.

it lasts a long time and even when i tried to scrub it off three times, cover it with lotion, it doesn't go away.

Ruthmarie0

Spectacular, I love this fragrance, super fresh, clean. 100% recommended for the summer. I feel very comforted by it, it’s a beast, it lasts more than 8 hours on my skin. Love it

fairymeist

I don’t know what it is about Delina, Delina Exclusif and Valaya, they all smell very similar but there is something so sour in all of them that I can’t get past. They smell amazing but they are too sour for me, they turn screechy on me.

strawmi

It's hard to describe this fragrance, mostly because it reminds me of so many different things. It's warm, comforting, gentle, soft spoken. A warm hug from your mom, fresh linen, bright summer's day. The only fragrance I feel comforted by.

Latetothescene

Oof, I got a sample. I looove Quentin Bisch but this one is not worth the money and def not a safe blind buy. The good, if you love this, it's a monster.
This got me nausiated and I could not scrub it off fast enough. And I love musky woody floral feminine, clean girl fragrances. Just look at my perfume wardrobe.

I agree with the reviewer below. This is very harsh. Waay too loud and spikey. This is not a soft feminine musky clean fragrance. This is chemical warfair. Hard pass, sorry....

ValentinaRossi

Screechy and headache inducing to me. Unfortunately, it's a scrubber.

jow012

Tried this on a tester strip because I don't like Aldehydes or Ambroxan and I didn't want it on my skin.
On the test strip: I was expecting peach like everyone was saying it smelled like, but I don't get any fruits other than citrus. White floral is there but very very faint. What's prominent is that clean, laundry, citrus blend. It was not what I was expecting because the other fragrances from PdM lean on the sweeter side. This one is sharp on the opening and I bet it softens when it hits the skin and warms up. Not for me, it was giving detergent tor me. However, I can see people who like skin scents wanting to try this and I really do not enjoy skin scents. Not a safe blind buy, even if you like PdM.

MunchiPupzi

I’m not too familiar with aldehydes but I remember trying Chanel No.5 so it did make me wary when this fragrance was released. I finally decided to order myself the Feminine Discovery set from Parfums de Marly, as I already have a bottle of Delina Exclusif and it’s so far my all time favourite perfume. I was looking for a more day to day signature scent with good performance, and to be honest a lot of the PDM feminine fragrances fit into that category so I thought it was appropriate to test a few more.

I tested Delina, Delina Exclusif (which I already have), Delina la Rosee, Oriana, Meliora, Cassili and Valaya. Oriana and Cassili were probably my least favourite, they both have something in them that puts me off. Delina Exclusif I’m still obsessed with of course. And then I tried Valaya for the first time. It was like I smelled the most crisp, airy yet juicy fragrance. The moment I smelled Valaya it genuinely made me happier, I swear it has something so uplifting in it. I tested it on skin and luckily I still loved it, the dry down is a nice clean luxurious-smelling musk which I do enjoy. I do see how people compare it to laundry because of that clean musk smell, but to me it’s definitely not in a bad way it’s a soothing warm laundry smell more than sharp and agitating as some people describe it.

But yeah I am quite surprised this fragrance is so polarising, I’m guessing the musk reacts differently on people’s skin so this is definitely not a safe blind buy, but in my eyes Valaya is such an angelic fragrance and I feel anyone who wears it would give off a beautiful ethereal aura.

subtlyyours

Oh Valaya, how i wish i had given her a chance before concluding my opinion of her. She’s the one who taught me never to trust my first opinion of a fragrance because more often than not, it’s wrong. I thought i hated this. I thought it was just another screechy musk, but i was so wrong. Shes expertly blended with depth of sweet citrusy florals. Shes white, she’s elegant, and she is class. She’s so easy to layer with and wedding day worthy indeed. I whole heartedly wish I didn’t decide to exchange my scentbox decant of her so prematurely because i miss her sophistication already.

MiKi_moo

I hate this. In the way that I hate Chanel No. 5 - I just don’t like fragrances with aldehydes. It’s too sharp, too medicinal, too chemical for my nose. I love Delina, I love several other PDM fragrances, but this one is a huge miss for me.

cats_eye

I've fallen in love with you, Valaya. Now I have backups for when you are empty! Seriously though. A fragrance hasn't made me this happy in years. Valaya is bottled joy...a liquid antidepressant. 🤍

ambervxyjul

Beautiful and signature worthy. It’s Delina but without the rose notes. Bright, fresh and slightly sweet. It’s a powerhouse scent for this type of dna. It smells exactly how the bottle looks. Transparent, ethereal, elegant.

JasmineSky

So sharp and heady, this one will give you a headache! Overall it's not a bad scent. I feel like I'm not a fan of aldehydes, especially mixed with so many florals- ugh, it's overwhelming. I felt the same with the og delina too. Glad I tried it out, but it's a no for me.

eau de dosa

I’ve have my bottle for a while now and have debated about it. I like this however it’s something in it that bothers me. As I’m reading through the reviews below, it dawned on me that the dry down is a deep floral soapy scent that’s heady and it aggravates me when I get whiffs.

With that being said, I don’t know if I’ll depart with Ms. Valaya or not. She’s a distant relative of Chanel - a young chick that likes Russian tea cake cookies, afternoon tea and goes to bed at 6pm.

Ieva_M

One of my favourite juice in my collection ! I can’t say it is floral, for me it’s a bright musky citrus scent and it keeps that way in a dry down. Yet I can smell a little bit of vanilla so it makes the fragrance a bit sweeter. It is very sparkly scent and I can see where people going when they say it is has Delina’s dna. For me it’s very much like Delina just without that jammy rose. It projects amazing and longevity is a beast. Just for the quality and performance I think this perfume even fair rated price wise.

CrissyCK

I’m not sure what to say about this one. It’s different… sweet and soft… but it’s like the old lady version of Delina. Yet it is a bit addicting, which I think is due to the ambroxin (love). For the price, I’ll pass. I can’t get past the old lady smell.

AleksOud

Starts like a sophisticated fresh floral for spring/summer, an experienced perfume afficionado will recognize citrus, white flowers, woods and musk. Middle notes show fresh aldehydes, laundry powder style on top of the other notes. The drydown is an intense laundry powder style scent and this is where it lost me. Try Laundrette by Frau Tonis instead, I think that it does the flower-fresh aldehydes combination much better.

Frangipanilove

Some Delina dna here, not as a rose but as a similar layering of different facets. Spritzy bergamot/citrus on top, with floral (imaginary floral notes) and barely detectable peach in the middle, and a musk base with some softness from vanilla though this is by no means a sweet fragrance. It’s difficult to pinpoint specific scents / notes with this one - I prefer real flowers to imaginary flower notes however- prevents fragrances from veering too much to the augmented reality direction. One for spring and summer but overall, too artificial to my taste, becoming sharp and pointed over drydown.

mrntrs

I am a PdM lover and therefore assumed I would love Valaya. I absolutely do not! The notes sound beautiful on paper but there’s something about the base that makes it really unpleasant to my nose. As someone else also commented, I usually enjoy musky scents so this was surprising. I wore it twice to convince myself that it wasn’t that bad but it’s still a no for me.

NickiGB

I'm quite honestly shocked at the negative reviews here. Maybe this one does depend on body chemistry. I don't get "old lady" at all and in no way is this masculine. It's as if Fleur Narcotique and Levant had a baby. But add a little woodiness at the base. The musk is fluffy, the fruity florals are sweet but not too sweet, and the performance is outstanding on me. I've been wearing this non-stop all spring and it will work for summer as well. I also think this could make a perfect bridal scent, or signature scent. And the bottle... stunning.

Headshoulders64$

Al I can smell is woody notes. I am not a woody note fan so I probably cant judge correctly. It is very long lasting.

larabk

Straight up smells like expensive soap. Very clean

cats_eye

Now I knows what this reminds me of! Burberry in the round bottle from 1995! Valaya is a little stronger. They both have that peachy, orange blossom, cedar, vetiver, vanilla musk combo. I knew it reminded me of something.

Candyshop12

This was a def no, but i def see a woman age 75 , dressed in all white for church and wearing this. Its not sexy , its just soapy clean powder'ish and boring. Like a guy would say : "its alright but wouldnt buy for my woman". Its over hyped up , especially this brand.

>Happy Cat<

First PDM release that I dislike. Valaya feels harsh and masculine to me. It is a chemical mess that sticks to your clothes for weeks to give you headache.

VeroMikaela

A few sprays of Valaya and suddenly you have the impression that you are eating lemon with sugar... Aldehydes in a large amount and bergamot. After about an hour in which it remains linear and constant, it turns into a strange perfume that you could only describe as synthetic, but not in the pejorative sense of the word when it comes to perfumes. A crystalline, glacial smell. Probably those petalia and nympheal potentiated by a considerable dose of ambroxan. Although I am not attracted to the genre at all, I cannot deny a certain dose of alluring that it exerts on the wearer.
Above average longevity, satisfying projection

26071980

I liked it at first . But then i sprayed my self after a shower, and the minute i stepped out in a windy sunny day, i just wanted to go back home, and wash it off me that old lady smell. Ohh i was suffering 🤧🫢😅 I guess that was the lily of the valley ( although i like the flower) , or maybe it’s the mahonia 🤷🏻♀️ it’s just not working for me. Many people like it though. Not a safe blind buy for sure!

Jadelynn

I've tried only two of PdM's offerings so far, but I'm thinking this house may not be for me. Besides Valaya, I've had a decant of Delina Exclusif, and I found them both way too powdery.

While I can appreciate that Valaya is a pleasant fragrance, it's intensely powdery and doesn't work for the tropical climate I live in. It doesn't help that projection is quite strong; the performance on this one is impressive in terms of both sillage and longevity. I could still smell this on my skin after I showered at night, and it was still on my skin for several hours after waking the next day.

jazzyjuice

if you're looking for a fresh and clean fragrance but don't like the screechy dryer sheet aldehydes of 724 by MFK, this is the scent for you. the first hour is very masculine, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just something to note. at no point does this fragrance smell super feminine on my skin, after the first hour it leans more unisex, but i'm not sure why this is marketed towards women. to me, this scent smells like James Bond getting out of the shower. the vanilla in the base is definitely a whisper, but i say that as a compliment because it's just this barely radiating sweetness that emerges in the dry down that makes this wearable year round, perfect for daytime and someone confident looking for a fresh and clean fragrance. i would definitely say this is worth the price if you're looking for a masculine-leaning bright, sexy, and refreshing unisex fragrance that you won't smell a lot on others. well done PDM

riri92000

Nothing special at all, I really feel this trend of overhyping ”niche” is coming from the same place as someone going to a fancy restaurant and trying to fit in, therefore overdressing and feeling the need to leave a very big tip depsite poor service in order to not feel less than or poor. Most of these mass-manufactured ”niche” perfumes are subpar really and most do not smell extra at all. This one very dissappointing like the other ones, at the price point it seems ridiculous.

christinamariev

Y’all, I wanted to love this….. but.. It’s heavy on something that I can’t get with. It’s either the aldehydes or the musk. It’s not a horrible scent but it’s not something I want in my collection. Would not consider the scent unique/ interesting either but it does preform well. I enjoy most musk perfumes but this one I had to get rid off. I can see how this could be an appealing clean and cotton scent but I think I was expecting something with a little more femininity or softness. I’m sure my body chemistry plays a role considering reviews are mixed. Some people absolutely love this and some don’t so if you enjoy musk I recommend sampling first!

Velvetta

I'm currently testing travel size bottle and it's really beautiful and surprisingly for such a soft scent - it stays long on skin and clothes and i think it has a decent projection. I think it works better applied by walking into the "cloud" of scent, instead of typical sprays on puls points. It creates a nice scent bubble then :) It's very pretty but expensive, but if you are really crazy about it,it's worth it i guess. There are many similar scents tho, like Fleur Narcotique is definitely A BIT similar, i even get some resemblence to J'adore - because at least of my skin and to my nose it's basically a mix of sparkly fresh peach and white flowers. They definitely belong to the same scent family and you can tell. It's a repleacable fragrance in my opinion.

FleurDeLis69

It gives me grandma vibes with it's somewhat dusty-creamy smell. Pass.

* Initial review:

Somewhat clean and somewhat floral, dries down to mostly aldehydes, musk, and vanilla.

The initial spray is quite spicy-peppery but goes away quickly... Once fully dried down. where others smell woodiness I smell the pepper once again but very lightly.

They don't smell very similar but I feel that a lot of the words used to describe Lazy Sunday Morning by Margiela would also be used to describe Valaya. Their end product don't smell all too similar, much of which I would attribute to the vanilla found in this, despite sharing quite a few notes in their pyramids. It pulls much warmer and skin-like because of it.

It's interesting reading through all of the reviews as everyone seems to have entirely different descriptions for this fragrance.

Very inoffensive, especially after it dries down. I would actually consider it Le Labo Another 13's more feminine, sliiiightly sparkling counterpart.

cats_eye

After wearing this one for a while it's really grown on me. The touch of vanilla in the base makes it unique. It's fresh and woodsy but also warm and musky. It's very concentrated and heavy on the musk so you might not smell it after a while but everyone else will. Yet you'll still get whiffs here and here. Something about it reminds me of Nautica for women from 1997 which was actually a very high quality fragrance with real lasting power. It left a sheen on your skin due to the high concentration. In a way these are all descendants of CK One.. Citrusy peach and white florals on a musky woods base. Light Blue (less warm and woodsy and musky) and Fleur Narcotique (more floral less musk). Unfortunately Ck1 was reformulated about 15 years ago ..and Nautica was discontinued. Valaya is great but remember it's basically parfum strength so don't spray too much because you'll be choking people without realizing it.

Pixiedust0

This was described as a pretty, light, fairy like perfume, but to me it’s chemically, harsh and gives me a headache. Kinda disappointing, but also kinda not because I don’t have $300 to drop on perfume

Marli1973

Uplifting but calming. Clean cocoon silky cotton blend smell. A perfume that doesn’t feel like wearing a perfume as such. Just a clean and elegant scent.
A white roll neck cashmere sweater comes to mind equally a laid back white linen shirt.
Great for everyday, any given environment. Unisex but a bit more feminine.

Snicole82

This is very, very fresh and clean. Too much for my taste. Very musky and aldehydic. I think if you like that with a touch of florals for Spring, then go for it. It’s a little too bland for me. Good longevity, light sillage.

KatiaMarie

Headache in a bottle. Sickly White floral overkill (Lily of the valley?) with dryer sheets. Can't decide if it smells like a grandma or a headache, or both.

Yes - now after a while I can tell that it's the extremely indolic white flowers that give a not sweet, but more rotting fruit smell underneath the aldehyde bomb.

Heavenly Heather

Finally getting around to testing my sample from Luckyscent. It’s a very pretty sparkling fresh fruity floral. Opens up somewhat sharp from the aldehydes at top. On my skin the peach really opens up along with the florals & a soft vanilla that lingers in the background. It’s fresh, yet musky and a bit woody as well. Perfect fragrance for spring. I like it but expected more, reminds me a lot of Fleur Narcotique which I already own so I’m not sure I need both. I can definitely see the appeal though & think it’s one that many could make a signature scent.

amnebe

I feel like I have a love/hate relationship with Quentin Bisch creations. Sadly, this one's a hate. The moment I put it on, it reminded me of one of those gel-based bathroom deodorizers from the 1980s. It's strongly floral and never relents with its strong and screechy note. I just feel like I smell like a bathroom. This isn't the first bathroom scent of his that I've hated. The first was ELDO Experimentum Crucis, which smells like a 1980s scented bathroom tissue to me. Put these two together, and you'd have the full going-to-the-bathroom-at-grandma's-in-the-1980s experience. This won't put me off trying Quentin Bisch fragrances because he has some real diamonds. This one just isn't it for me.

beatrixrussell

Super floral and light, very feminine and just a bit of lemon to it. It's nice but a little forgettable, nothing groundbreaking.

fraghead97

this one surprised me at the parfums de marly counter. I went for meliora and ended up loving the way valaya smelt on me more. the most beautiful, fresh, fruity-floral-musky combo. smells like sun-dried linens and eating juicy peaches outside on a summer day with your favorite book in your hand. so ideal for the upcoming season. I will be ordering a decant of this first to see how it wears / lasts on me, but I already think it's FBW.

Isabella Therese

Valaya is the misunderstood girl in the class who has so much to offer but is constantly standing in the shadow of the popular Delina. I love Delina too, don't get me wrong, but Valaya is just as amazing. Valaya is not sharp or screechy on my skin. She takes me back to my childhood, at my grandparents house. It's a sunny summer day in the North of Sweden, I'm eight years old with long hair and a sundress, the fresh laundry is hanging outside and the wind is blowing. I smell a mix of summer air, sun-dried sheets, flowers and peaches with just a touch of sweetness. Valaya is a veil (a strong and powerful one, but still) of clean, feminine, musky, floral fruitiness. She's a warm summer breeze and a cold freshness at the same time. Signature scent worthy. Valaya is a bit too strong to wear when it's really hot outside, but she's amazing in the spring. 9/10.

cats_eye

Valaya is like a lighter version of Ganymede or something. They definitely have some woody, muskiness in common. Same perfumer. Valaya is kind of floral but it's way more woody than people are saying. The air around the person, the sillage is very woody much like Ganymede and not nearly as floral as Fleur Narcotique. Maybe it's in between the two somewhere. I like Ganymede the best.

Nataliemespino

This is SO beautiful. I’m surprised by all the negative reviews. It’s so fresh, clean, and extremely feminine and sexy. The first spray can be a little sharp, but I’m absolutely in love with the dry down. It becomes a little more musky and woody without sacrificing its floral and feminine nature. The hints of peach, citrus, and woods prevents it from smelling too clean and soapy. The performance is amazing for such a fresh fragrance. I might have to buy a full bottle.

ZoilaRivera74

In the dry down reminds me to This is her by zadig & voltaire

Definitely do not blind by this. I am amazed that Parfums de Marley would put something out like this. Not impressed. just really let down. to me it smells like a wet dog on the dry down. . unpleasant. It's not a good smell. Just a very odd type of perfume. I own almost 200 varied perfumes and this by far is the weirdest .. in my reject pile for now. At first spray, it smells of super alcohol, aromatic and pleasant, but as it dries down, it becomes less and less appealing. where people get a woody scent. I don't have any clue.. hard pass for me. Thank goodness I ordered a decant Of this before I bought it. such a costly perfume that isn't worth it. I'm gonna hold onto this for a while and hoping once warm weather hits maybe it changes with warmer weather. I don't know.. I'll be back with an update when warmer weather appears.

LMD

I have a sample spray of this from the discovery set. The vial and first spray smells very masculine and like day old aftershave to me which is very off putting. On skin though it is much more appealing. Fizzy aldehydes and lily of the valley, orange blossom, bright citrus and musk. It very much reminds me of Chloe Love Story Sensuelle, except Chloe is warm and this feels cooler. I really wish this didn't have the ambroxan and vetiver combination though, which is what causes that dirty day after aftershave smell at the start. Having said that, my wallet is pleased that it makes this only a like and not a must have :)
EDIT wore this to work today and all I coud smell was ambroxan and vetiver coming off me. No thanks.

calgal556

I didn't like this perfume at first, sniff of the cap was metallic and sour. Sprayed on is completely different. I don't know quite how to describe it on, floral and fruity I suppose, but it always gives me compliments. I like to layer it with another perfume, relevant 13 stems, which is green and botanical, and works well together.

CrisKatCass

I can’t believe there are so many negative reviews of this. It must really be a body chemistry thing, so if you’re interested in it, test it! Don’t be scared off by the negative reviews.

BP777

This one is very interesting, in the beginning, I smelled Delina for some reason but as it dried down it became this extremely powdery and soapy floral fragrance. It's' definitely for someone more mature and it lasts FOREVER. A man I was dating wore this once and I remember I kissed him on the cheek and could not get this scent off of my face. One spray on my wrist lasted about 16 hours.

ducktaco

I think this is beautiful except the peach is coming off a bit sour to me and its keeping me from loving it. I think this is one that needs a bit of aging. I ordered a sample when it came out and thought it had poor performance, but decided to try it again today and I've been smelling it on me for 8 hours so far with just a dabber bottle.

Jujas

Wow.. everything from synthetic Ambroxan bomb to completely being unable to smell it. Perhaps it’s a bit in the middle? I’ve tried it several times now and while I enjoy its clean, soft feminine scent bubble (definitely getting the luxurious hotel vibes) I can’t fully smell it on myself and neither can my husband. And sorry but at THAT price I need some performance .. I would snap this up in a hot minute if it were there, but I struggle to smell it. Only with nose to wrist can I fully experience it..
Which is a bummer because I actually enjoy this type of beautiful clean musky profile. And weirdly, on me it smells a little like a watered down and refined Burberry Her EDT / Elixir .. and maybe that’s the synthetic part people are experiencing.

Ps. I don’t detect cleaning products, or screechy scrubber notes. I actually find it to be beautifully blended. Just in a “I don’t want to be noticed way” and well, I like being noticed soooo..BUT it does have better longevity than sillage, so if you’re not sensitive to ambroxan or akigalawood and like an understated elegant perfume, than this is for you.

Chloerose666

I got a freebie sample of this with another order and I would've never picked this to try based on the notes (or the other reviews haha) as I don't like peach or florals as a general rule.

It shocked me because I did quite enjoy the powdery muskiness of it and the brief whiff I took from the cap I thought I would hate it. I got a lot of compliments which is honestly just annoying because I rarely get compliments on fragrances I actually love :'( haha. Its very very feminine, a classic powdery floral musk. I don't really find it screechy, its just strong - which for the crazy prices these days is a GOOD thing lmao why would you want a weak-ass perfume.

Cass626

Lol what even is this? It's nowhere near groundbreaking. I had high hopes and this truly let me down. It is screechy, I get 0 peach. It honestly smells like when you walk into a perfume store at the mall and it's just a blast of *perfume smell*.

Longevity is practically nonexistent. Can't speak for sillage since I won't wear this again. There are so many other perfumes out there like this, don't waste your hard earned money on even a sample.

theroz

Upon first meeting, it presents itself as a fresh citrusy musc scent. While spending time with it, it turns into something quite sharp and screetchy, like an unrelenting very sour synthetic incense. I can easily see how someone could get a headache from this but if you like this fragrance's texture you might want to check out Danse Passive by Antinomie. They're not the same but both share lily of the valley, orange, musk, sandal notes. Danse Passive is fruitier and more feminine but very much the same texturaly. I think it's the strong aldehydes notes.

BlossomShoku

The scent is quite unique, I got so many complements and was asked to write down the name. Its unique, lovely, and lasts for a very long time. All notes are in harmony and very well placed. Absolutely gorgeous..

LittleMissBlasian

My fiancé said this smelled like a cardboard box and it’s unfortunate 😅 but I layer with Valentino PP and it has gotten me mad compliments

Aquinabc

When I smell this I am like. I smelled this somewhere before. Is it Juliette has a gun musc invisible ? Or narciso Rodriguez her? Let me know if i am wrong.

Kkardaper

Social Media convinced me I needed this...I could have lived without ever smelling this to be quite frank. I got a few of PDM perfumes and I am not impressed. I am not one to hate on what other people love, perhaps its just my chemistry, but these smell super cheap and cloning on me. This one in particular gave me a headache, I just think that musks are just not it with my chemistry.

With all this being said I am also coming to the assumption that strictly feminine perfumes do not work well with my chemistry. More spicy and fresh unisex fragrances do.

I will update when I try for a longer period of time...

aroundthewaygirlnextdoor

Sedberry EDT?

Quatro

The opening is a citrus and white fliral combo. the drydown is a musky vanilla mallows. This is a scent for special occassion.

I REALLY LOVE THIS SCENT

byjeniffer

Ugh this is so interesting because it does not smell fresh or clean at all like a lot of people describe. Initial first spray I absolutely despised the scent it was headache inducing and nauseating however after many wear tests I gravitate towards it ! I definitly think the dry down has a magnetic like trait that pulls me in. I always love smelling the cap

K8lo

Had to share my two cents here - cause woooof I despise Valaya. I would hate for someone to blind buy this thinking it's a clean, dryer sheet smell.

The ambroxan / patchouli / musk combo is absolutely abhorrent to my nose. Very incense-like. Gives church lady. I rarely will scrub a perfume off my skin but after 20 mins...I was trying to see if the dry down would improve...but it did not and I couldnt keep smelling it. Valaya is synthetic, screechy and very strong. Make sure you try this on your skin first before you drop big money on this one - decants available on Split Scent or try it at Nordstroms.

If you like this frag, the positive note is it lasts a very long time! Even after scrubbing off my skin I could smell it all night.

Oud14

This fragrance is absolutely stunning! The first sniff I took by Parfums de Marly was Delina, which was a little underwhelming because it simply smelled like a sharp rose, and couldn't understand the hype. Then I saw Valaya right next to the Delina tester, and decided to smell it out of curiosity - I was blown away by it. It's a scent profile I usually lean towards; it's refreshing, floral, spicey and a little incensy - it kind of reminds me of Fleur Narcotique by Ex Nihilo but its more woody I think? Fleur narcotique is one of my fav fragrances and the nose behind it, is behind Valaya. So if you like Fleur, I think you will like this. Whenever I get wafts of myself, the scent gets better and better! Do not blind buy it, please smell it in person because it may not be for everyone.

sillage - 10/10
projection - 10/10
longevity - 9.5/10

Timaka

Am I the only one who thinks this is kind of reminiscent of Delina Exclusif? I get a lot of vanilla in Valaya's drydown and it's the same, ice cream-y vanilla I get from my Delina Exclusif. I was expecting Valaya to be super fresh and airy, and for a moment I got a mouthwatering splash of citruses, but it turned into a powdery, vanillic, gentle floral very fast on my skin. Superb lasting power, spritzed it on my wrists at 6pm at a shopping mall and could still smell it the next morning. Soft sillage and projection. Really pretty, don't get me wrong, just not the kind of scent I was after.

Sydney Nguyen

Got a sample and immediately think about Burberry Her Eau De Toilette🥲 (The green bottle). The dry down is very feminine. I've heard so many good things about this but not for me sadly

emeraldnyl

Well, I was all set to purchase Meliora until I wore my sample of Valaya to work today and received 4 compliments (they even asked me to write down the name). I rarely get compliments, so I guess I’m buying this first! I have several musky scents already (Myth, 11 11, Mojave Ghost, Clean Skin, Another 13) but this one is different enough to justify a purchase. It’s elevated dryer sheets in the best way possible whereas many other musky scents veer more towards luxe shampoo. And unlike most other musky scents, the performance is AMAZING.

PrfumLover

Beautiful fragrance but I’m a bit frustrated that it smells like Fleur Narcotique. I already have the extrait and I try not to own two of the same scent profiles in my collection. Frustrating but I guess I can just layer them since I got this one at such a great price. That’s what I get for blind buying 🤷🏾♀️

vanillabeanshampoo

I’m glad I got a sample of this because I don’t agree with any of the negative reviews.

This lasts forever on my skin. I sprayed it on in the afternoon, went about my day, took a bubble bath in the evening and I was still getting whiffs of it the next morning. I’m not even the type to do more than 2-3 sprays. It won’t create a scent bubble, but not everyone wants to be smelled from a mile away.

Smell-wise, to me it’s reminiscent of fresh laundry with a zingy, woody citrus that’s not sour or pickle-like. It’s comforting and clean. Very skin-like and not exactly perfume-y. It’s singature scent worthy.

PapiChulo4Frag

It gives older settled woman in the dry down. It is over-powering. Very rich church lady smelling on my skin. Would not consider buying for 30 to 40 years in the future.

Zahraa555

Beautiful and soft. It is not sharp. Balanced florals and ambroxan. Perfect summer scent! Very similar to Fleur Narcotique. However this one is less sweet and cooler like a fresh breeze of air.

ay.mor

Has a similar screechy note that I cannot handle, present in Creed Aventus, YSL Libre, One Million etc. Aldehydes? Lavender? Idk but it totally puts me off it. Only a man can get away with this kind of sharp note & with max 1 spray, maybe 2 if it's a cloud. Otherwise.. Ugh get it away from me

Scentsitivewoman05

Similar to Kayali Dejavu. If you have Kayali Dejavu, you dont need this.
Projection and longevity are moderate. But it smells synthetic and the peach ruins it.

Razorbrown

She’s a very basic screecher.

missmaowens

Valaya, Valaya you are truly beautiful. This perfume in no way is a groundbreaking earth shattering unique scent but she is truly a stunner. The scent is so familiar but yet I can't put my finger on it. This is the most elegant, regal and feminine perfume that I've smelled. It's a 10 out of 10 out of 10. 10 in the scent category, 10 in the longevity arena and a 10 in sillage.... Valaya is in my top 5 for life.

NadiasmellsGorgeous

This is one of my favorite clean girl scents. The musk combined with the peach and bergamot is so fresh and lovely. The aldehydes smell like upscale clean hotel linen rather than fresh out the shower clean.
It has the quintessential parfum de Marly DNA in the background that is polarizing, it can be sharp or screechy to some. To me it reminds me of powdery fruit with a tinge of orange blossom.
The dry down is still fresh musk and it lasts for 3-4 hours projecting and about 6-8 as a skin scent.
If it’s too sharp, you can always layer it with a creamy white floral scent to smooth it out, but for $375 a bottle it should be able to be worn alone.
You can find it online cheaper. And also if you buy a discovery set from PDM they give you that same amount off a purchase ($48 at the time of writing).
This would be a signature scent if I didn’t have so many in the rotation. Love it for a sunny spring day.

Endi1geida

Overpriced cologne only you will be able to smell. I don't know how they sniffed this and said yep, aldehydes, bc there isn't any of the punchiness of the aldehydes. To me this is underwhelming and basic, however these are my tastes so it can vary since so many people love it.

DarlingNikki

This smells so bad to me but I want to be objective and try to explain why. There is something very synthetic, off-putting, bizarre, and molecular about this smell. I get images of Xerox copy paper (yes I'm that old lol), industrial solvents used to clean stuck on glue or deeply embedded grease, fresh ink being blown dry by a hot, arid wind, a burning light bulb...even the remnants of vodka in a cold glass. Yes, there is an unwelcome coldness to this scent (and I do get that annoying BR540 vibe too unfortunately), as if an Ice Queen would marinate herself in this to keep people at bay. Hideously strong, nose-piercingly sharp, and not understandable to me as a scent. This is the smell of Chernobyl the morning after the disaster or what it might smell like being stuck inside an empty silo that once had every synthetic molecule used in perfumey stored inside of it. This is WTF am I smelling in a bottle lol!

Enar_smells_good

I really wanted to like this. The opening was nice, and I was able to detect the white peach, but as it dries, it smells a bit too much like laundry detergent for me. I’m realizing that those are the scents that I tend to enjoy the least. In my opinion, it is good for what is is, it just isn’t my style. I guess I like for my bedding to smell like this, or maybe even another person but not myself. If you like this scent profile I’d say you can wear it year round, more for daytime.

ievaid

actually struggling a little to find something to say about this. it smells clean and cottony in the sense that it smells like dryer sheets. very generic. there's some freshness, a hint of fruitiness, a whisper of vetiver, and an overwhelming inability to commit in any direction other than bland white musk and heaps of ambroxan. it was released in 2023, but feels kinda dated to me - not in a fun vintage way but in an 'i thought we'd moved on from this trope a decade ago' way.

in all honesty i knew this wouldn't be my cup of tea (musky, ambery scents tend to make me nauseous), but i wanted to try it nonetheless for the sake of sampling all the femme offerings from parfums de marly, so you can take or leave my biased opinion. the best thing i can say about it is that it's not actively a scrubber. still, it fails to inspire me in any way.

lmnsvgz

On paper it smells extremely soapy - like a citrus soap, a soft cleaning product.
On skin though there is some sweetness after it dries down - it turns more perfumey, more feminine. It is a very soft scent, it smells musky but like a very clean musk. It is a very fresh scent, out of the shower scent. Very lovely.

cats_eye

Smells like a 90's men's cologne.

ForTheLoveOfFrag

I'm not totally sold on the house of PDM. I own a bottle of Delina, like Exclusif but love this one! I've tried them all and that's it for me. I don't know where the person below got the description for this, but PDM's site nails what it is:

FROM THE PDM SITE - A radiant aura and yet, an impalpable softness. This elegant floral-musky-woody fragrance created by Julien Sprecher is a unique play on codes, materials and subtle contrasts. An evocation of the skin caressed by a veil of cotton. Fresh top notes as bergamot, mandarin and sweet white peach, lead to a blend of white flowers, settling on musk and ambrofix sensual base notes.

I am a sucker for soft, fluffy, year-round wood-white musk fragrances. This one is wonderful. It's not linear, but doesn't drydown into something funky as some musks can. I disagree on the D&G comparisons, by a MILE. I own a FB of Initio Musk Therapy and this is in the same vein, but more feminine, slightly sweeter and woodier with a bit less of the bright citrus. Where MT can struggle in super cold temps, this works! In all seasons for me!

Most other PDM offerings fall flat and totally fail in the performance dept on my skin, but this one is a winner and I will absolutely be buying a bottle. About arms length projection and lasts a good 10 hours on my skin. If I'm not careful and overspray, I go nose-blind pretty quick.

cat7669

The only extraordinary thing about this bottle is its pricing.

perfumepearl

This is very clean but warm smelling scent. It's very beautiful and comforting scent, but it's not worth the super high price. I feel like Pure Musc is a more simple version of this. I love the scent but I'm not paying over 200€ to smell clean.

Zerana

Clean and complex, it can definitely be a signature scent. My husband described it as "waking up in a super cozy bed with fresh sheets". He loved it on me.

sunnyviolets

I was reminded a lot of vetiver every time I got a waft of this while sampling. Like a mechanic or fat electrician sort of vetiver. So if you're sensitive to that note, I guess it's something to be aware of.

Overall though a juicy, fruity floral topped off with musk. Surprisingly it isn't very strong and doesn't really last. I actually like it more than other similar fragrances to it, but there's something off about it (other than the vetiver) to me that is dissuading me from splurging. Partly because it's so generic, and partly because it's outrageously priced for what it is imo.

Maybe because the fruitiness turns bad/salty on my skin. Ymmv.

Lulu19

I think it's the akigalawood that ruins it for me, gives it this nauseating, headache inducing and masculine undercurrent. Didn't enjoy it.

Ceila88

Why does it smell like a stale piece of bread to my nose !!!

saltysailor

Ah man, definitely gives strong laundry sheet vibes but with a hint of fruit. After washing my arm, a bit of a citrusy cleaning product smell remained. Just once spritz will definitely project and last for a while, I'll give it that. I mean, it doesn't smell *bad* but it's not for me.

mister_chaz

When I first put it on, I was immediately delighted - fresh, musky, clean, sophisticated. This is a perfect crowd-pleaser in a good way, I thought... Then my husband walks in and says: "We're you cleaning? Smells strongly of cleaning product in here" 🫤 I see why it's compared Fleur Narcotique, the later is fruitier and more high-pitched floral, Valaya is less sweet, musky citrus.

Update: This is nuclear! Ppl will smell you a mile away. Must be synthetic musk. Not for faint-hearted.

RachelPhd

I have a sample size of this that they gave me when I purchased Delina Rosee. I have worn it 3 times now and can confirm I'm going to purchase a full bottle. The aldehydes are quite pronounced, I think my nose is sensitive to aldeyhyde. However, it has some fruitiness as well. It is what I imagine a very rich, classy, and understated woman smells like. The kind of woman that wears fancy pantsuits and has a driver.

What has really pushed me to wanting to purchase the full bottle is that my husband has spontaneously complemented the scent every single time I have worn it. It is the only perfume I have worn that he has consistently a) noticed, and b) complemented.

Also, I was surprised by how divisive this perfume is! The reviews had me cracking up. I hope I don't offend too many people wearing this!

little_red_corvette

I don’t understand the hype for this one. I received this as a sample and expected an expensive smelling clean scent. Instead I smell a harsh synthetic and almost salty musk with some fruit notes. Huge disappoinent…

cheyguy

Wow! This smells incredible. I found my new signature! It's so light and airy. It smells like clean laundry pulled out of the dryer, but the Peach really shines through and gives it a bit of sweetness. When it dries down the woody notes come to play and it smells so sophisticated and lovely. For sure giving like, clean woodland fairy vibes. 10/10 from me.

nerzan

This is exactly Dolce Gabbana Light blue but in a nish way.

CrisMS

I love Quentin's creations and like PDM in general, but not this one. BloomyWinter' review below is on point. Scratchy, harsh, syntehic, even rotten.
May be all the weird notes combination, but I feel the strong aldehydes with the ambroxan the most. And this combination is enhancing the screechy aldehydes that settle into a rotten kind of effect in the drydown. This drydown is similar to Replica Sailing Day by Maison Margiela.
I understand the aldehydes and all these watery notes are supposed to evoke an airy, feminine, clean vibe, but it's going in the opposite direction for me.

Birdie123

I absolutely love this one! It is my favorite from this perfume house. It is very feminine, fresh, and timeless! In a word - bridal!

nichoa99

Great citrusy opening, but I reallyyy do not like the akigalawood, it bothers my nose and isn’t pleasant. This is a very unique perfume though, and it lasts foreeverrr.

YenSung

I don't get it, this smells like a cheap cleaning product. I wouldn't use it not even as a air freshener

amanda0727

Agree with reviewer below, it is pleasant. Smells like airplane hot towels given out before meal service. While I don't find it screechy, I can sense the overload of aromachemicals. It's one of those scents that I can barely smell but I know people 10 ft away can pick it up strongly.

tcnose

Pleasant, but nothing particularly unique. It reminds me a bit of clean laundry, fiancé agrees.

Something similar to a fresh cigarette smoke also in the dry down for me unfortunately.

Not impressed with PdM typically sadly.

BloomyWinter

I must be smelling something completely different, some other reviews described Valaya as light and airy, however to me it is insanely strong and as unpleasant as it gets. It is so cloying, and headache inducing that I had to go wash my wrists off immediately. Of course lo and behold, it just does not go away at all. I bought this year's travel spray set, and ending up hating Valaya so much that I am considering returning the set. The paper strip for Valaya from Nordstrom didn't smell any different from being on me. On the other hand, I adore Delina, and enjoy Oriana too.

I was also hoping Valaya will develop into something else once it settles down a little bit - nope, it never did. Sorry but this is one of the perfumes that I absolutely hate.

lamerienda

Valaya > Fleur Narcotique. They are similar, but the musk in Valaya is smoother and better blended. I know FN was the first on market, but having them on my both hands now it feels like FN was a cheap dupe of Valaya.

Gourmandgurl888

I’ve started looking for more easier, cleaner and more softer fragrances than my heavy deep and gourmand loves and tried this as well as So Nude by costume national and for most of the day it was the strong projector and lasted compared to SN but there was still something about it that I wasn’t 100% sure about then @abusnail ‘s comment got it, nurse over working and covering up a shower…… damn it now I can’t get it out of my head and I have to scrub it off. So Nude is still there but quite faint and is more skin scent for sure this one is a bit too citrusy but very clean smelling almost too clean???

CandyButterfly

I bought a sample of Valaya and I've worn it on skin for several hours. I don't see what the fuss is all about. I wish I thought the fragrance was as beautiful to the nose as the bottle is to the eyes. I wouldn't even mind if I agreed with several of the critiques of other reviewers. But to me it smells like musty air in a room that's been closed too long. I'm not a fan of smelling musty... so I guess that's the end of Valaya for me. 🦋🧡🦋

Scentfrommanna

Got a sample of this when I purchased Molecule 01 and was keen to try it given the hype for it on social media. Unfortunately I’ve realised that I cannot stand akaigalawood, it’s one of the only notes I find nauseating. I have the same issue with Amouage Guidance and Angel Nova, it overtakes all the other notes on my skin to leave a cloying, yoghurt-y smell.
The longevity on this, as with any perfume one hates, is beastly, I’ve washed my hands numerous times, applied hand gel and lotion and I can still smell it.

Lykopa

Lovely, light peachy floral! Ethereal and floaty! So clean and fresh, perfect for a bright spring day! The ambroxan is very present.

myadkov

Reminds me a hospital smell but somehow in a slightly more pleasant way. I get a lot of jasmine too but maybe my nose is just broken. It is an interesting fragrance, clean, fresh, but also a bit obnoxious. Need to wear it more to fully make up my mind.

violeteme

Second test.
It seems, I might have underrated Valaya.
When I tested it for the first time, I thought it is quite usual and tedious. Already very familiar scent. And it might be the case. Nevertheless, vacationing in the tropics I brought myself to test it again on my skin, and it seems Valaya goes well with the more luxe vacationing activities in that climate zone. The way it's almost buttered and mellowed by my skin is wonderful. It erases all the chemical screechiness and Valaya envelops in a beautiful, citrusy-musky-powdery veil, which has a soft suede quality along with fragile petalia. It has a similar tone to Delina, if we remove all the rosiness and soften it a bit. Easy to wear, non-cloying in moderate heat (could be too much in high high temperatures), smells like new money type of luxury.

Leelee00

These reviews are worse than the spider attracting lotion. I'm actually afraid of this perfume. Thanks everyone.

Parfumadict.

The amount of ambroxan is nauseating; It predominates the entire performance on the fragrance at the point of not even begin able to distinguish it from other products that feature this chemical. It doesn't enhance any other notes, it kills them.

abusnail

First smell reminds me of a nurse on a hospital ward who is working long hours and tries to smell nice to mask not having time to shower. The more it settles it reminds me of someone who’s going to the races (dog or horse races) in 1800 but their husbands cheating on them and they want to try impress him again. It’s sweet and strong but kinda generic but has elements of uniqueness. It smells like marzipan a bit

megamegman2000

im in love!! this fragrance is so clean and fresh and twinkly. I sprayed it at 1pm and it was still projecting hard by 10pm. Def not a safe blind buy but this will be a need in my collection

PerfumedParrot

I’m torn with my feelings about this one. It’s certainly the most wearable ambroxan fragrances as it’s not an overly chemical blast. Valaya is soft and atmospheric like a fluffy white blanket rather than being too shouty. But I can’t smell this myself. I know I smell good as 2 people have commented on my “new perfume” but I can’t smell anything, so it defeats the object of being able to personally enjoy it. I thought it would be a good work fragrance as it’s simple, clean and smells like bubble bath with soft clouds of white musk marshmallow, but not when you’re anosmic to it. I don’t think this is special enough, if it were a cheap Arabian musk scent then I buy it but still tire of it quite quickly and the longevity isn’t remarkable. I still like this but I’m not blown away.

SoheePark

It smells exactly like expensive furniture. It is an intriguing scent but I wouldn’t want to smell like that. So for me it’s a no.

kkrempl

As a guy, this scent works on me and I can confidently say men can purchase this.

ribbonnn

this perfume is a hate crime. chemical warfare in a bottle. this could be used on me as a human pesticide for it makes me want to keel over and die

Similarien

I have a problem with this one. On one hand it’s very elegant but I find it too strong and overwhelming. The advantage is that it lasts for days or weeks.. basically until washing the clothes. Definitely value for money. It’s just not for me I guess

vaninavanini

Drilled a hole in my head.

GretaR

This smells like D&G light blue and Fleur Narcotique had a baby (I prefer Levant from Ormonde Jayne however to FN as longer lasting and more affordable).

It’s very pretty but already have Levant and you don’t need both.

yeesa_

Very clean smelling but I find it cloying not for me

PrincipeFilip

Two words :
Ganyemade woman

Darokes85

There is a weird tenacious musk note in this fragrance that I find extremely unpleasant. It’s cloying and intense and it's also present in Initios Musk Therapy and Paragon. It’s a weird super synthetic dry and very sharp and piercing musk that takes up residence in your throat and makes your nose feel like you’re breathing in thick dusty asbestos air. It reminds me of the fragrance they add in hair pomade like the one that comes in that little orange tin can branded ‘Murrays’ or that thick greasy blue colored hair grease called ‘Blue Magic’. It’s present in Valaya, Paragon and Musk Therapy and I loathe it. I can even detect it in Delina to a smaller degree. PdM and Initio are fantastic sister houses and I love them both but I wish they would eliminate whatever that weird ass, annoying & cloying, synthetic musk note thing they use and create a proper more natural smelling musk note to ground their fragrances.

looraw

As someone who likes light and ethereal fragrances, this was a complete scrubber for me (and not an easy one to scrub off with its hectic potency!!!). It smelt like rancid coconut oil combined with a thick musty blanket of toxic peachy particles, and made me feel quite unwell. It evoked a feeling of being stuck in a soulless shopping mall and overstimulated by all the lights, people, plasticky goods. That very specific smothering feeling of empty consumerism. I’m clearly not a fan, but probably should flag that I do have a very sensitive nose and am generally averse to powder bombs.

Nanda Catão

Essas nota de Ambroxan - Akigalawood + almiscar predominam do início ao fim.Só sinto isso na minha pele, OUD + OUD amargo. Cheira a algo estragado na minha pele

FranziBE

This is AMAZING. Clean, fresh, musky… last forever!!!!!! It’s the only one my husband loves in my collection besides Baccarat rouge. To me about it’s the best of 2023.

puselabber

Extreme sillage and longgevety. Don't worry about getting rid of this scent if you are given a hug by someone who wears it. That's how strong it is. But a gorgeous fresh musk!!! Can be worn all year. But please do not overspray! Suttle is more sexy.

SSBurn

Initial spray smells like JHAG Pear Inc. and then idk which note it was but on my skin it turned bad! Smells like Pear Inc after you’ve worn it to the gym and went and sweated in a sauna. Not for me at all.

haus0fXI

i really like this fragrance. my first fragrance testing that has ambroxan in it and i can see how people can be put off by this. it’s a really crisp, fresh fragrance that’s really cute — but not for the price tag.

the other thing is for the price tag, this doesn’t last too long. The sillage was pretty damn good for about 2 hours then disappeared.

cute fragrance but not worth that price tag, sorry.

SweetAminah

It has a bug spray note but I like it. I like a little bit of weird in my scents. ☺️

JoyousOne

I went around the table and asked all 18 people what were they wearing at the Fragrance Exchange Dinner I hosted. I cant remember everything everyone sd, but here are a few that stood out to me. Two people had on Baccarat Rouge 540. Two people had on Donna Born in Roma. Someone had on the new YSL Libre L'Absolu Platine. Someone had on Safanad from Parfums De Marly and when I put my nose on her neck I STILL couldn't smell it. I put on 12ml of Sorriso so some ppl did mention how gourmand I was. What were the fragrances worn that I could smell from a distance? 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗜𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗘 & 𝗠𝘀. 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗺𝘀 𝗗𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆. The Queen Valaya was Valaya-ING! Lady Vee was doing the dern thang 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚. It was hard for me to finish my sentences while in conversation once the lady wearing it was next to me. I stumbled over a few words and she sd, "Joy! Concentrate!!" Valaya gives new meaning to DRUNK IN LOVE! I only have a decant for now but its top priority for a full bottle. 🤍

anibasxo

I love this. I've never had a perfume give me this much sillage, and I keep moving around and sniffing it on myself too. I wish other perfumes lasted this long on me!

I get a hint of cotton sheets, some aquatic notes in the middle, and musk at the base. Smells have color to me, and this smells like electric periwinkle with a little bit of green. This smells like waking up next to your lover and morning cuddles, but in a clean, cotton sheets kinda way.

The reviews are definitely interesting and just affirm how everyone's noses and skin chemistry are different. I bought a sample, but will be buying a bottle.

jeweledsea

These reviews are SO interesting. I get peach shampoo from this. It's not fresh laundry/linen to me, and it's instead just a nice, sweet, clean, fresh scent. I sprayed my sample for the first time and it was an immediate love. Wore it all day and just could not get enough of it!! I also got a compliment from one of my coworkers about 6 hours into wearing it which was a nice added bonus.

Someone left a comment wondering if they would buy it if it was a designer frag, and I have been thinking about my answer to that question too. I think I would in fact buy it, because it's an easy reach, non-offensive, and kind of universally appropriate. The price sucks, so I might splurge on a decant but wow. I really like this and am excited to wear it again!!

Tuck

This is amazing and the kind of spicy dry down is heavenly. It’s airy and fresh and polarizing. It doesn’t smell like DG light blue either.

HOLY Berries

I'm so in love with this clean, radiant, bright, cool musky scent. Its just im not sure whether it stay on my skin after 2 hours (though on my clothes, i can still smell it😍 even the day after. Most complex yet subtle clean scent i have.

armature

Smells like Hypnotic Poison (edt) without the almond, a tad bit more floral

Hedabo

Just beautiful and stunning.

I never fail to be gobsmacked at what some people say about fragrances. For example bug spray and cleaning products. If you’ve said this I’d love to know what your bug spray you buy. I mean are you serious about commenting on perfumes saying things like this. Hardly informative.

There’s an old saying if you can’t say something positive don’t say anything at all. Of course some perfumes will not appeal to everyone but the comparisons to some perfumes on this site are so out there it’s hard to follow the rationale.

Now without writing another long edition of war and peace …. this perfume is unique and different in welcome wonderful way. It is airy and fresh and has a beautiful undertone of soft musk. I walked into my hairdresser last week and for the first time ever she asked me what I was wearing and said it is really beautiful. She’s not into perfumes that’s why she doesn’t normally comment. She made me
Write it down!!

I have all the parfums de marly fragrances and this is a stand out. One of the ones I reach for quite a lot. Haters please be constructive in your comments. It is really tiresome to read about bug spray and your grandmothers smalls drawer. We really aren’t interested in this crap. Sigh

sweet_teenagedream

Very Ambroxan like Juliet has a Gun Not a Perfum and Musky like Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musk. Don’t really get the any of the citrusy freshness from this. Very strong and potent, I sprayed it in my arm had it on my and it lasted and projected, all through out, I went to sleep and it was still there and now, after washing my hands and putting coconut oil on, like 20+ hours later, it’s STILL there. That’s insane and I only sprayed a little amount😱

I do like it, but I would need to be in the mood for it and I still need to really get to know this scent. What I really like, is what it smells like after a lot of time has passed, like on the sample stripe I sprayed or my hand now😝 This is really a strong one, that you really have to commit to, even though it dosen’t really look like that.

It’s obviously very expensive and I’m not gonna get a bottle of it. I have 2 samples now and that will last me. If you do really like this scent though, this would definitely be an amazing investment and something you can wear whenever. If you order the feminine discovery set from the Parfums de Marly website, you get a kit consisting of 7x1,5ml samples and you can choose 2 more of your liking.

Edit: I really like this, Its just so lovely lingering around me🥰 As I already stated, this is SUPER long lasting and on cloths as well, it will last until you wash them! You will constantly get whiffs of it, long long after you sprayed. To me this is not really fresh or airy, it’s a very strong clean, beautiful, abroxan and musk combo.

fourleafedrover8

At first I loved the zesty sweet and fruity opener, but unfortunately the dry down is powerful and not in a good way. Aldehyde and Ambroxan? Brave. Unfortunately it doesn’t work for me: the result is a super powdery, super musky, “mature” scent. My husband hated this and he is usually quite easy to please.

Also worth noting: I really hate the packaging of this line. The bottles look like ceramic and they are quite heavy, with a magnetic lid that slips off and on too easily to lift the whole bottle at once, so you’re constantly at risk of the thing dropping out of your hand and smashing to bits.

Jscents39

Hype is so funny. If somebody bought this from a Walmart or TJ max, they would be like “whaaaat is this!?” But because it has the Parfums de marly name, it is Glorified into being something more than it is. I’m sorry but this just isn’t it. Not mass appealing, screechy, not well blended.🤷♀️

Embodied~Professor

I love Quentin Bisch’s work, but this is an instant “no” for me. It smells like an industrial scent, formulated to convey that something has been cleaned within an inch of its life. I buy unscented laundry detergent in order to avoid precisely this harsh, noxious smell.

Greendoll2

Valaya is a departure from PDM's usual girly and sweet profile. I first heard of this from NYC fragrance guru Trauvalya Wallace, who described Valaya as like a veil that wafts all around you like an aura, drawing people toward you and making them respond to you. The first time I tried it, I thought it was quite lovely. It's peppery, woodsy, and sparkly, without any particular note dominating. I think it smells like the way its bottle looks. Though I typically wear narcotic white florals, I put this on my wishlist for a slightly more masculine pick.

However, the second time I sampled Valaya, my perception of it changed. It felt screechy instead of soft, and it really felt like I had sprayed on a cologne from the mall. It began to feel tiresome to my nose. I still enjoy it in a way, but I no longer see myself wearing it.

Something I will say about Valaya is that it LASTS FOREVER. I'm talking weeks on clothes. It's one of those fragrances you can wear all day, take a thorough shower and still smell on your skin, so if you love it, I think it's worth the price.

afternoir

The top notes are almost intoxicating, but oddly, I don't dislike it at all. I can envision this fragrance complementing turtleneck/blouse wearers perfectly, offering a fresh and effortlessly relaxed scent that suits any season. A word of advice: try a sample first, as it might come across as slightly sweet, though not overly floral, with a subtle powdery undertone. The musk in this is a standout, and it's hard not to appreciate.

After a couple of hours, it still lingers, which could potentially become overwhelming, especially if you're wearing a thick sweater. I'd recommend a maximum of two to three sprays for a half or full day of wear. Testing it first is a must, as it could react differently with individual ph.

KittyBaditty

On the initial spray I see this as a unisex fragrance. Very fresh and crisp and a little cold, mainly citrus and old school Light Blue. As it warms on my skin it settles into fresh laundry and expensive soap territory. Weirdly, this and my fabric softener are the most complimented scents in my rotation. I don't get vanilla or peach, which I'm fine with, just a fresh, cotton-soft, laundry scent. Clean girl aesthetic all over. I haven't tried it in winter but I'm thinking it might be a bit too cold and sharp then.

As this only comes in 75ml bottles here and I don't go for the clean girl aesthetic much, I spray this on my laundry fresh out of the dryer and my wardrobe smells incredible!

toosimilar

Is there any difference to Fleur Narcotique?
However, the performance is tremendous!!
P.S. stays on clothes for ages! and projects from them intensively - like you put on the same thing again and you start radiating this frag from your skin!!

sunnyviolets

This smells SO familiar to something else. Could be fleur narcotique for sure, maybe a couple others. Definitely musky. Basically it's Delina without the rose.

Amaitawana

Clean fragrance, like MFK 724, they're almost like cousins. It's not for everyone especially kids, this is a fragrance for grown folks but not in a vintage way, 38+ years. I recommend

Jemmcy

I bought a full bottle of Valaya since I loved it in the store. After wearing it a few times I realized that every time I have it on I would get unpleasant whiffs of something unwashed, almost fecal. I am not sure what note causes this association for me but I am not able to wear the fragrance anymore. Very sad - it was quite expensive…

Filolek3037

I wanted to love this and I almost tricked myself to believe that I do…but I have to stop being delusional. Sillage and lasting power is aamaazziinngg but unfortunately I have a liquid soap in my kitchen (palmolive antibacterial) and it just smells like valaya. It’s sweet but in a green way, fresh, airy, somewhat „stingy“ and in my and my friends opinion a bit masculine, it also gives me cold and unapproachable vibes. Deffo not blind buy safe! If I haven’t had the hand soap then I‘d say it’s a very unique smell

EDIT: I decided to give it another try AND I LOVE IT! Gonna get the full bottle. Its very clean and pleasant with a hint of a sweet peach (and ofc I got rid of the soap😂)

cdcs

Nice one. Bought it for my mother. The almost green peach mixed with some of the other notes leans a but carrot-y at first, but it eventually dries down to a cozy white floral. It really is an airy perfume, like someone that naturally smells good and fresh, and that uses the best soaps, mosturizers, shampoos, conditioners and creams money can buy. Signature scent worthy, elegant and an “aura” perfume. It’s not full bodied, it’s not suffocating but it's definitely there. Smells like someone that has their life together, that has really healthy breakfasts, meditates in the morning, does yoga and is overall a morning person. Smells like a rich woman, with generational wealth, that is thriving in the business she inherited and getting richer everyday, and somehow that’s easy for her, and she’s so capable it doesn’t even really take that much of her time. She goes to sunny, beachy places when on vacations (like Mikonos). Her clothes are always white, just washed and pressed, elegant but not uptight. A really nice vibe to have. Unfortunately, really unlike me. It’s a perfume fit for someone that is like the earliest rays of the sun through a sheer white curtain, and though it evokes femininity (probably because on my skin, it pulled towards the white florals), the woody aspect would work wonders on a man, as long as either would have this light and bright feeling to them. I could see this being so very delicious on a guy. A nice, easy going guy, with this calm confidence and disregard for whats “traditionally” masculine, which somehow only makes him all the more confidently masculine, someone with a comforting aura, that is strong, but whose strength would always only make you feel safe.
I like the image of both. Therefore, I’m putting this as unisex leaning fem, but only because that’s how it is on my skin.

JoyousOne

After MONTHS of screaming I didn't like Valaya like a Parfums De Marly Scrooge, I finally skin tested her and immediately learned 1st hand that she's a beauty. The hype is both equally real and rightfully valid. Something in her reminds me of the new Creed Carmina too. Im grateful for this decant and I have yet another entry on my never-ending wish & want list! 🤍

Maya lilac

Clean girl aesthetic written all over it! From the packaging to bottle colour to scent itself. Genuinely the first thing that popped into my mind when I first sprayed Valaya.

I have just a sample of this cause I was curious, but my overall impression is that I will stick to it. I'm glad I tried it as I love sampling stuff with notes that aren't typically popular today, like aldehydes!

It is not a bad scent by any means, but it’s not my thing. I would say that I find it smelling synthetic. And a cold scent.. Not something that I would like to wear. Perfumes with aldehydes are rarely my vibe..

I get a musky, slightly sweet, slightly powdery, slightly citrusy, mainly floral and aldehydic. It has some type of molecule listed in the pyramid so it might be those that makes it feel slightly screechy! It bothers my nose.

Doesn’t impress with the performance either. It’s quite aery and ethereal.

I see it compared to Fleur Narcotique in the reminds me section which I have tested a couple of times in the past and from what I can remember, Fleur Narcotique smells better.

sparecaim

It’s affluent and clean. Nothing to complain about but the price is hefty

cmdqt

Inoffensive yet not very distinct. For the price tag, it's not worth it.

Anabee

The more I smell this the more I love it.
I bought an 8ml tester first. When I went to bed, despite having taken a bath, Valaya was still faintly detectable on my wrist. I sprayed again and fell asleep with the most delicious, soft and comforting scent enveloping me. Some people compare it to Fleur Narcotique, but while the opening might be similar, Valaya is much smoother and has the most beautiful dry down. I got the full bottle.
If you’re interested in this fragrance get a tester first just to see, if it’s meant for you.
Valaya is my first real niche-perfume splurge and I couldn’t be happier.

Edit:
Ok.. now after having it for a couple days, I unfortunately oversprayed this a couple of times. It’s super potent, too potent for my nose. The only thing I’m currently able to detect is a sharp lemon scent that won’t go away. I had to wash every piece of fabric around me bc the scent just wouldn’t go away. It reminds me of D&G - Light Blue with a killer longevity. I guess I have to stop using it for a couple days and hope my nose will adjust 🙈
I will only spray lightly from now on

natalie1234567890

I bling bought this at Nordstrom because of course the tester was stolen. I have many PDM perfumes and was not concerned with buying without testing first. Once I got home I ripped the packaging open like a child on Christmas morning because I was so excited to see what all the 'hype' was about. On the first spray I immediately thought "wow, light airy fresh" which is not really similar style to the rest of the PDM's, then the first thing that came to mind was D&G Light blue. Don't hate me! But that is what to me and on my skin it reminds me of. Now I wore Light Blue forever as a teen! it was my favourite scent so I was very happy. The more I have been using it the more it smells less like light blue, just in the initial first spray. I would best describe this scent as an unused Gain Dryer sheet sprayed with D&G Light Blue and musk. Hope this helps!

sovietine

Not worth the money. Sharp. Could easily be mistaken as a celebrity perfume. Gives the vibe of laundry products.

Jess985

I recently ordered a sample kit from the brand, such a luxurious experience, packaging was lovely, the samples arrived really fast and i got some extra samples for free which i really appreciated. I fell in love with Valaya straight away, it’s stunning, it was exactly what i was looking for, to me this is a really nice everyday fragrance, easy to wear and lasts and projects so nicely (i sprayed it yesterday noon and this morning i can still smell it on my clothes and hair).

It smells very clean but elegant. Do try this on the skin though, sampling this one on paper does not do it justice. Long story short.. i had to order a full bottle and i’m sure that i will always want this perfume in my collection.

gloseycasey

I just tested this beauty and I adore it. It's so fresh an airy, it surround you with a gentle yet potent sillage. It's clean laundry adjacent with some extra magic.

kandyse.samuel

The opening smells great, but it's very musky and a bit masculine for my taste. I would love to smell it without the musk and ambroxan. More mature scent.

byjeniffer

I dont like this… i got so excited when i read the notes it smells absolutely nothing like the notes. I get no citrus, no floral no fresh clean scent. i don't know where people are getting clean from, its headache inducing and smells like the smell of a car right before you get car sick. The lasting power is a pro, lasts really long and projection is great but it doesn't smell good so doesn't really matter. if anything i get a lactaid note

imegaphone

I already reviewed this when it was cooler but it smells SO DIFFERENT when it's warm outside!!! I now know why people are voting that it smells like Bois Imperial!! It really does, it's like Quentin's signature DNA because I smelled it in Guidance as well.. and I really hate that particular smell :( So today I was mortified because I sprayed it before work and all I could smell was Bois Imperial, zero florals, zero softness, it almost killed me and everyone around me and I can still smell it even though it's been like 9 hours it still smells strong. (when I tested it in cooler weather it disappeared quickly) This is all from an official PDM sample. I only used like 5 small sprays from the sample, 2 in my hair, one on the back of my neck and two on my forearms. So if you don't like Bois Imperial don't blind buy this. Bois Imperial is said to be a dupe of Ganymede, I had a decant of Ganymede a few years ago and I enjoyed it, but Bois Imperial is a fragrance I couldn't wait to scrub off, I get the similarities but Ganymede was classy, cool and refreshing (although I've read it smells different nowadays), while Bois Imperial was like in-your-face-look-at-me-here-I-am-smell-me ugh tactless even with one spray.. so yeah, as always, sample multiple times before purchasing..

Fountain30

Very bridal

Fluffyandpuffy

Beautiful, fresh, clean, alluring. More on the Feme side. Classy.

Jessica63390

So I love Valaya but, I'm surprised no one has mentioned how similar it is to Bal d'Afrique Byredo. Valaya is Bal d'Afrique Byredo but more feminine; they even share many of the same notes. I sprayed both on my skin, and they are far more similar than any of the recommendations I see above.

mckfly24

Clean floral laundry but still unique. In the realm of bal d afrique, krigler abracadabra and initio musk therapy but has a warmer sunshine quality. Almost dryer sheet...

Phylira

Let me start my saying this is NOT something that I find to be in my typical DNA preferences, but I have found this to be an extremely easy reach for every day. It’s extremely inoffensive, light, fresh, and will last ALL day on clothes. I spray this on before work, and I can count on it to power through the Texas 110 degree heat I’m currently battling right now, without becoming too sickly sweet or disappearing entirely. Do I find it groundbreaking? No, probably not, but it does have something rather addictive about it anyway. I’m happy to have this in my collection.

Controlledbyscent31

Meh....

crisjoy

I rarely get excited about a perfume nowadays, but this one really made me giddy. I know it got a lot of hate, but I couldn't help but love it. Clean, floral, citrusy, I agree to people saying it's a mix of Delina, Fleur narcotique and Light blue. It is very airy but makes a statement at the same time, it got me a ton of compliments. A perfume I will keep in my collection for a long time.

Sjess

I really love Quentin Bisch his work, so this was on my wish list as soon as it came out. This sits somewhere between MFK 724, EP Bois Imperial and DG Light Blue. Not mad at it, gorgeous combo for summer, and it has such good projection and longevity for a summery fragrance! Two sprays have lasted me a whole day and I can still really smell it after 18+ hours. I had a decent sized decant which I finished in no time and I ended up buying a FB. I rarely buy full bottles (mostly I buy decants & travel sizes) but this one I just had to have and no regrets! Even though I wear loads of different fragrances, this one has grown to be a signature, I can smell it on lots of my stuff and when I do I almost always regret not putting it on. It is just perfect for me, the exact right balance between all my favourite notes: aldehydes, musk, wood & amber, with some florals thrown it to make it extra special.

Marissaluvsscents

Looking for a bottle! US 🙏

Maleficent's cotton candy

I’m obsessed with Valaya and Delina EDP. Valaya when I’m feeling like a wealthy, meticulous, clean-girl Queen and Delina for a softer, sweeter and ultra-feminine mood. The two are gorgeous together as well. I haven’t felt this strongly about a fragrance (or two) in some time. Stunning.

Sophia97

I purchased it after having and loving Delina by Parfums De Marly. And tbh I'm not liking this fragrance as much as I expected. I was expecting citrusy but it is very soapy. I did not like the smell at all, the smell disappears as well. The projectivity and longtivity is awful.

cats_eye

This smells like a much lighter, more floral Bois Impérial . They're both by Quentin Bisch.

Elle's Bells

I was expecting the worse, especially after my rendez-vous with Guidance. But, oh how the tables turned once I sprayed Valaya.

On my skin, the peach note is absolutely beautiful and noticeable. I didn't have to sniff my arms a million times to look for it, either. Let's talk about the sillage, shall we? When I was walking around the store and if I double-backed, I could smell Valaya's sweet, peachy scent trail. Don't let that clear juice in that bottle fool you, folks! It's been a few hours and it's still going strong. Definitely FB worthy and I can't wait to add it to my collection. Gorgeous!!!!

UPDATE: I purchased a FB...I'm happy!

Maria Martha

Synthetic hairspray hell. Whatever it is that Quentin Bisch uses in all of his creations, it is a component that is overpowering any other notes. Maybe it is the ambroxan. The opening is lovely - for five seconds. Then I feel like a chemistry lab has exploded near me. I am not totally against "chemical" components in perfumery, but I do not want to smell like bug spray.

If you want a fresh laundry scent, I'd recommend MFK's 724. Valaya is similar if a little sweeter (I've tried them both today, one on each arm) but the ambroxan in Valaya is just more than my nose can possibly take. Scratchy and pungent and very cheap-smelling, which has to be a bad joke considering the extortionate price.

Smeraldina77

It is nice, but to my nose it smells very similar to Kayali's Deja Vu White Flowers 57, which I have and I like better tahn Valaya. It is also definitely way overpriced, considering that it is not very unique.

Parfymegal

I have no clue how this smells on others, but on me it’s just awful. Worse than bug spray, and I can’t stand the smell of bug spray. Tried to wash and scrub it off my wrist 4 times, but five hours later it’s still there. Ughh..

brightsun2205

Here goes a combination of Aldehydes, musk, white florals, and fruits that come together.

This is like having fresh and clean clothes out of the laundry.

marygoodgeryyz

I tested Valaya recently and the first spray was very sharp and reminiscent of a house cleaner. But then it quickly settled into a very airy, clean and tart fragrance on my skin. The citrus, white peach, musk and lily of the valley dominate on me and it makes me think of a sunny, cool summer day with the attic windows open and every musty surface getting a good scrubbing with citrus cleansers.

I feel like it's a scent that theoretically SHOULD be enjoyed in hot weather due to its lack of cloying sweeetness, but is much better for cooler spring temps. It didn't last long on me at all - it was less than one hour and I thought I'd gone noseblind but my husband couldn't smell it anymore even when he shoved his face into my skin. Might last longer if I overspray, though!

I like it, it's okay, but I don't love it. I might give it another chance but right now I don't like it enough to buy a bottle of it at that price.
