UnbelievablyScently

There's something off with Galloway & not in a good way, compare to Gentleman Givenchy Cologne which has a similar profile, Givenchy actually comes off really fresh. I'm sorry, there is nothing fresh or clean about Galloway, they over did something which I can't quite put my finger on it. It smells linear from the moment you spray it.

A very luxurious fragrance that exudes masculinity from Parfums de Marly... excellence for summer... for a self-confident man.

timsmellsg00d

Creamy citrus and musky florals. A lot of people tend to talk about the big 3 freshies from PDM those being Sedley, Percival, and Greenley but, I think this is so great and underrated. This is clean, fresh, and simple but, a lot of people do hate it for that. Many people expect something groundbreaking and ultra unique because it is PDM but, I think niche fragrance snobs need to remember that not everything needs to be a super challenging blend. This is a very nice and simple fragrance that has high quality ingredients. The opening is a little challenging with the pepper and citrus combo that PDM has done horribly wrong before with fragrances like Kalan but this is miles better than the Kalan opening, and it dries to a clean musky floral scent. I think the beauty of this fragrance is in the simplicity and quality. I get 8 hours of longevity and decent projection.

Overall: 8/10

Plainly put, thumbs up in my book. Citrusy, peppery, musky with a hint of sweetness, almost vanilla bean like from the amber in the base. Very clean, very classy.

ayywolf

I had high hopes for this one. I ordered a 10 ml decant of it and boy am I glad I didn't buy a full bottle.
It's not that it's bad, it's just nothing spectacular. On my skin, I get 0 iris and there is a very prominent amber note throughout. It opens with lively citruses and I get a lot of pepper, then it heads into this clean, neroli-amber smell which is very masculine in my opinion. It's not as summery as I thought it would be and performance on it is mediocre in my experience. It smells good quality, but I was really hoping that this would be a neroli, iris and citrus focused fragrance instead of a massive spicy amber bomb. Good for what it is, but for me personally, it's not nearly as summer-friendly as I hoped.
Overall, it's a nice fragrance, if you like Azzaro Chrome Pure, you'll probably like this one too (it's the only fragrance I can associate it with). Nothing mind-blowing, but good PDM quality.
6/10 for me.

MyNoseAintGreat

A previous reviewer suggested there was a strong citrus opening which I don't agree with. This scent is mostly a strong musk/pepper to my nose, right from the beginning. I think it is OK but this isn't something I'd wear with any frequency. As with most of my PdM experiences it has relatively poor performance.

selalami

Opening is pretty strong with the citrus which I like, but as it dries down you get a lot of musk and pepper. Unfortunately the pepper gives me a headache which sucks because I like the smell. It's very clean, the white bottle makes sense. Professional, clean scent, can't really go wrong.

Clean, fresh, and classy. Love this stuff.

Yay_Or_Nay

Absolutely gorgeous - I have this one and Percival, Sedley and Greenley for summer from the PDM line up, and i can tell you none of them will disappoint. I have to admit Greenley is my favorite out of the 4 I have (with a slight margin), followed by Sedley. However, if i were to rate them on a scale of 10, I'd say Greenley is a 9.7/10, Sedley is 9.5/10, Galloway and Percival are 9.2/10. I am very pleased, definitely love PDM as a house.

Sniffconnoisseur

this kinda smells like Narciso Rodriguez bleu noir parfum

Having a decant made me feel that something was lacking when it was emptied...
Now I'm awaiting my bottle of Galloway to arrive, perfect as the spring is starting to inject some life into Stockholm, haha!
Being such a fresh, open and versatile scent I wonder how it layers...does anyone from our community any experience from the scent as a base to;
"Layton"
"Percival"
"Green Irish Tweed"
"Himalaya"
to the long shot "Oud Wood" or any other fragrances, either as a base or a top?
Thank you in advance and have a nice spring!

tylerss20

Nothing bad to say about this offering from PdM, it just comes across as probably the safest, least imaginative fragrance from the house. PdM has some heavy hitters with beautiful complexity and big performance. This just lacks much of an identity to me.

sh83

I really enjoy this one aside from the overpowering musk I get after the first 15 minutes. Might just be me but each time I try this the muskiness seems overbearing and makes me self-conscious so I wash it off. If that note was dialed down this would probably be one of my favorite Spring scents.

UPDATE: Man, I don't know what happened in the last few days since I tried this but wearing it again today and it's perfect. Classic casual gentleman scent.

vinnyncm

Blind Bought and I was not disappointed. became one of my favorite.

WilliamNaust

I blind bought this, after some research. I was not dissapointed, since I got it for around 200 dollars. I found that the opening is not as harsh as some portray it to be. When it settles down, it smells absolutely amazing. 10/10

wnausten

I blind bought it for a decent price, around 200 dollars. I was amazed by it. Would recommend it if you find it discounted! 10/10

WyattEngland

If I am honest, this smells like a spicy aftershave. Not worth the price.

afternoir

Can't wait to get it. Seriously. (sorry for the long review, I was so amazed.)

I was instantly struck with goosebumps, perhaps because it evoked something so inherently masculine that my body reacted on instinct. As I write and inhale the aroma, it's strongly reminiscent of shaving foam, the blue gel kind. Despite this, the scent possesses more depth and character; however, the initial few minutes are dominated by a heavy dose of spicy citrus notes.

I envision my impeccably dressed partner returning in his neat attire, wrapping me in a hug from behind. It's one of those scents that, when melded with the wearer's skin, exudes a comforting, masculine, and clean aura. I find myself yearning to be embraced by the wearer rather than to wear it myself!! If it weren't for its steep price tag, I'd have already secured a bottle immediately! It evokes the desire to make love to the person who wears it, painting the picture of the perfect lover.

Once again, my answer is a resounding yes—this is an incredibly intimate scent that simply captivates. It's just so good. Suitable for summer and spring, day or night—it's truly versatile in my opinion. I find myself yearning to hold my partner close and inhale the scent from his pulse points. While it initially resembled shaving cream, that association completely dissipates by the end. It's akin to the dilemma of 'do I want to be with her or be her,' only in this case, it's 'do I want to wear this or have it on my partner.'

ellis_negron

Clean and rich. Very bright and musky. I really like it, projection time is really great too. Dries down very powdery fresh and spicy. 8/10, would be more but the price is crazy for what it is. Honestly perfect for brunches lunches. Maybe a bit too bright for special events and dinners unless it’s very warm.

Kyer

White, sophisticated and versatile.

To me, it smells like something a Prince from the old British Empire would wear, it’s royal, classy, sophisticated, as though you were walking around the gardens of a castle in the middle of spring.

Ti11y

Let me tell you… Galloway by Parfums de Marley is a hidden gem within the brand's illustrious lineup, often overlooked but deserving of recognition. This sleeper fragrance exudes a timeless charm that effortlessly captivates the senses. One of my ALL-TIME favorite spring/summer fragrances for its versatility and amazing scents!

punkb0nes

Got a decant with another order. It's not a bad scent, but maybe not for me. I'm a huge fan of Percival and Layton, but this one has something about it I'm not a huge fan of. Citrus is nice, but the muskiness of it isn't my cup of tea. You do get more pepper and wood on the drydown but the opening is very synthetic smelling. It's definitely clean smelling as well

*Update 4/25/24*: I have fallen in love with this scent. So fresh and clean, perfect for spring, just bought a full bottle!

frankcoelho

I tend to go for the cold-weather offerings from PDM - love the Exclusifs and others there, and have not really dedicated much of my attention to the fresher options - EXCEPT Galloway.
Oh, have mercy! This is clean, sharp, fresh, and WHITE. Gives a perfumed aura for many hours into its wear!
On my skin, very good performance. Smooth, and in contrast with that sharpness I've previously referred to, a few minutes into the fragrance, you can already pickup some of the base-heavy nuances. I love the experience this one brings - no idea what comparisons are being made here, all I know it's nothing like Chrome Pure (which I also love).
Leans masculine to me, and at discounters, quite a good price for what I got. My 125ml was ~$130.

DrewDrew

Just smells like Versace Pour Homme but better quality. Much more than any of the others in the "This perfume reminds me of" category so if you like Versace Pour Homme, you would love this. Price isn't that bad at all on discounters. That said, I hate this.

RefaEDT

This fragrance embodies a sensation akin to emerging from a shower adorned with the finest bathing essentials, exuding a crisp, sharp freshness that captivates the senses.

Its performance is exceptional, ensuring that its projection and sillage leave a lasting impression. Personally, I adore the subtle interplay of iris and musky undertones, adding depth to its allure.

Best PdM for summer in my opinion.

nicholasmendez13

Grew on me, had a dream about it for some reason...smells like very clean laundry. Great signature scent for any age.

Ariete76

Perfect unisex powdery, initially very fresh citrus fruits and pepper to make it interesting and joyful, then in the dry down its true powdery, clean soul comes out, smell of freshly collected laundry, perfect in every season and location, both work and informal, it is one of those powdery scents that I appreciate even though I don't like the genre because it remains clean without being suffocating and dusty

thee_argus

its nice! but it doesnt smell like the price of a parfums de marly

nicetosmellyou

This was a pleasant surprise for me. Not worth nearly $250 that they are charging but it is undeniably very well made. There are loads of ambroxan in here making it smell similar to some designer offerings, but with noticeably higher quality. It's quite citrusy, spicy from pepper and soapy clean from musk and iris. So much better than that subpar Sedley, god that's a boring fragrance.

fredglib

Very underrated fragrance. A real masterpiece. Very masculine in my opinion, the musk and citrus is blended perfectly.
I would wear this during summer/spring. Performance is also great despite being a fresh scent. Maybe slightly overpriced but I think it's worth it.

AndyTiran

If someone in Europe has a bottle that you want to get rid of, PM me. I'll gladly buy it (for reasonable price ofc).

#532 in my "Tour de Fragrance"

I've made clear I love Parfums de Marley as a fragrance house. I've also made clear I'd almost wear cat poo if it had an iris note. I don't know why iris does it for me, but it always does it for me. Galloway has a lot of the right stuff, plus iris, making it for me maybe the nicest citrus freshie ever, most especially as it doesn't have a strong bergamot note, a note that I love but which always gives me a runny nose, or I'd be wearing one of the similars people have mentioned, most of which I've had and ended up giving away. And none of those have an iris note.(one reviewer compared this to Egoiste Platinum and Armaf Legasi. I have both. Not even close.)

This is absolutely great for the beach or the gym or any causal day wear. Office? I guess it depends on how formal and what level you're at, but not for me. It's a really simple scent that's clean and fresh. Absolutely impossible that it will offend anyone in any setting and it hangs on till lunch and dinner which few citrus freshies do. But damn it's pricey. Nevertheless, come warmer weather I may still bite the bullet and buy a bottle of this for the Summer.

Darokes85

I get why people say it’s boring and generic, especially if you’re someone that enjoys bold and unique fragrances. I get why people may expect more from PDM considering it’s a niche house selling fragrances at luxury price points. But can we normalize niche fragrance houses creating high quality well blended simple fragrances without dismissal. Sure you can find a cheaper alternative of this DNA but you get what you pay for… a cheap synthetic smelling composition. Galloway may smell “basic”, “boring”, and “generic” but no one can criticize the high quality this fragrance possesses. We all love a bold and unique, statement making fragrance but we all need a simple understated fragrance in our collection for those boring simple everyday moments in our lives. Like grocery shopping, doctors appointments, going to school or the gym etc. Surely you can’t expect to show up EVERYWHERE wearing oud, spicy, gourmand compositions. That’s tacky and obnoxious. Balance out your collection with a high quality clean, simple and “basic” scent like Galloway.

It smells like crisp cleanliness. A very balanced and smooth citrus, musk and wood combo with a spicy opening. It’s not your typical clean fragrance but a luxurious clean scent. Smells like someone who bathes using the most exclusive and expensive bath products on the market and is very healthy and rich 🤑. Smells like a Doctor on their off time. Someone who’s “better” than most people but is still pleasant and humble for the sake of their career and reputation. Smells like someone who smells great NATURALLY… like they smell amazing without wearing a fragrance, just soap and water, deodorant and clean laundered clothes.

Performance is great too lasting about 6 to 8 hours with a nice projection a little bit south of 2 feet. Leaves a really nice crisp but warm clean musky sillage. Also 100% genderless. The opening is a tad bit off putting with the spicy pepper, but it fades and blends in with the other notes beautifully mere minutes after spraying.

TLDR: don’t be that insufferable fragrance snob who can’t enjoy or at least appreciate a very nice well made simple fragrance. Galloway is a great option if you want to smell clean and luxurious.

hiteshvs

Its a super mild version of Channel Platunum Egoist / Armaf Legasi. No doubt about it and I am really surprised how no one has commented about it at all, amongst all the reviews. Also, none of the youtube reviewers have highlighted this.I blind bought this and was dissappointed as it offers nothing unique. The price just dosen't justify this scent at all.

Norathar

Generically masculine fresh scent. Citrus and musk notes are prominent, it lasts on skin forever after projection has faded, pleasant, but too masculine for me personally and not worth the price for the scent, imo.

Yohanes27

Smells a lot like Lalique White, maybe 90 to 95 percent similarity but with slightly longer longevity.
Most people won't be able to tell the difference, even side by side I hardly tell any difference.
Just buy the Lalique, its the original, cost less than 20% of this, you can overspray away and buy 5x the fragrance

@ParfumsDeChaleur tiktok

Best PDM, sorry but it's just true. In fact, this is one of the best summer fragrances ever created. From start to finish this is a masterpiece. (It has the best bottle in the PDM line too 😂)

DapperDon

No no no no no. Feminine leanings Iris musk scent. Yes, like a newly constructed room, but with the windows open on a sunny day and a vase of purple florals.
Iris, chalk, violet & orange blossom.
A white shirt fragrance for spring time. No pepper. Lite citrus dies off in 15min vaguely reminiscent of a cleaning product. Smells more like a perfume.
Not surprised I don’t really like this, but was worth a try. Iris is not my thing 😷

Salohcin2148

Just got my bottle.....Call me crazy but this is my favorite freshie out of the PDM house. At discounters this is worth every damn penny. Bight citrus opening, transitions to something creamy smooth and almost pillowy, peppery touches, with a dash of Iris that doesn't add a powdery feeling (thank god) and fades into a slight amber on the deep dry down. Projects enough to keep it classy and lasts all day (8+ hours on skin and longer on clothing). God I cant believe I slept on this. I loved me some Sedley but it's taken a back seat to this juice.

SharkMan

Is this worth 200 plus dollars? no. But it is amazing and can be worn for anything anywhere. Glad I picked it up

Salohcin2148

First wearing and Im between like and love with this one. Smells fresh, slightly creamy and classy. I get a little bit of Xerjoff Uden with no booze. I also get something that smells like freshly Ironed clothes, not h24 but it did come to mind for a second but this is totally different then both of those scents. You can feel the pepper in the first hours or so but it's not bad. I have a few more wears in this sample so I will come back but I can say this is full bottle worthy. Lasts on skin for 8 hours, projects for 2 of so then calms as time goes on. If you're looking for an elevated work fresh clean scent give this a try.

Edit: What everyone says is true, this is a sleeper. Not the most beast mode but it projects for a few hours and stays on skin for ages. Since it focuses on musks I can see why some people don't get along as musk can act differently from person to person, but for me this is perfect. This is in the same vein of fragrance that doesn't offend, clean crisp citrus, laundry, white shirt scent. The color of the bottle kinda portrays the juice inside. For me at this point in my fragrance journey Im most into the easy going clean fragrances. For some reason when I wear these I have women stopping me to tell me how amazing I smell. Im wear fragrance for myself and lean toward uplifting scents which is what this is. I own a bottle of Nishae Nefs and that's for a nice dinner and going out with my wife. Everywhere in between I wear Fresh uplifting scents and this is right up my alley. Full bottle worthy for me for sure.

Batman10

Great fresh, mass appealing everyday scent. might seem like designer to some but to me, it has that elevated level of royalty or suave that you'd expect from a niche fragrance, don't know if its a placebo affect but smells nice, cant go wrong,

perfectboy_7

I'm living in a high heat area. This is perfect.

JangJun

- Anyone see it dry down is a same scent with oud for greatness or oud for glory?
- I tested vial and actually, I don’t like a weird smell of them. It’s not familiar smell, so far Layton is the best from PDM, all remain: greenly, sedly, percival, galloway isn’t worth a hyped or youtuber praised them for other reason.

Batman10

Elegant out of the shower scent, great, maybe not worth £200 but inoffensive great casual scent

R.diggity

My favorite citrus musk ever. The citrus is strong in the opening, but settles perfectly once the powdery iris pops up. ***Edit: the Iris is closer to orris root than actually Iris*** The amber notes keep the white musk from being to 80s drier sheet Aunt Sheila. The balance of masc-fem is absolutely gorgeous. Any occasion/event.

Vorpal

The Parfums de Marly fragrance with the cleanest scent that evokes the crispness of freshly laundered white sheets. Regrettably, I'm unable to wear it due to the headache it triggers for me.

RobKY

If you get the impression that this fragrance is too peppery/spicy then just pull your nose away from your skin and smell it in the air, as this is what others will experience, and you will find that the scent remains clean and fresh throughout.

roh.ans

My new favorite fragrance. To start off, this is a BEAST in longevity, on my skin it lasted 18 hours (some others say it doesn't last long, however). It's a great freshie, which in my opinion can be worn by any age group, and the pepper note isn't too prominent like some people think. Heavy on the citrus while also being unique and versatile. Criminally underrated, and it pulls compliments amazingly.

Blitzen18

Info: I get all my fragrances from authorised retaliers or directly from the brand, my reviews can also be of help to those who maybe don t know they got a fake and start to argue about poor performance.

I m just amazed by this fragrance.
First time i smelled it i remember i got 2 samples from PDM 1 Galloway and 1 Greenley(i smelled Greenley first i was really amazed by the green apple note however i won t say more about greenley cause i didn t get a whole bottle to test but i got Galloway) so when smelled Galloway i was like" this smells special, there is something about it " i couldn't tell what from the start so after i bought a bottle and i tested i understood that i could smell the combination of iris and orange blossom from the begging and that was what made me think there is something special about this fragrance.

To my nose that pepper mixes from the begging with the floral notes from the middle and gives me that floral-peppery with a little citrus scent that to my nose smells special.

The performance is very good for me even though i my nose is not very helpfull in that regard, i have lots of friends, females especialy, and when we meet at the gym(i work at the gym) they are not shy to tell me i smell good, so that is my indicator of how long a fragrance lasts on me :)) 1 time i got a compliment after about 10 hours of wearing the fragrance, but most of the times i get the compliments in those firsts 7-8 hours.

Personal tip: i like to put Galloway and then put a layer of Creed Green Irish Tweed, what i like about this is that it gives to Galloway scent a very mature green vibe

My personal rantings are
Scent 10/10 ( just because i find that combination of notes very special )
Longevity 9/10 ( only because i like a fragrance longevity to be over 10 hours since to my lifestyle i m out all day and i could apply a fragrance once per day)
Projection 7-8/10

rmnnnnn

Very fresh musky uplifting gentle elegant scent. Imagine waking up on a sunny sunday morning during summer, heading to get some good breakfast. This is what I’d wear.

Lukasssss

Just by sniffing the atomizer, I can tell that it is a musky fragrance. The opening has a big pepper blast accompanied with citrus and floral notes. As the fragrance progresses, the emphasis shifts more towards the florals and the clean musk note with something slightly sweet in the background. If you want to smell clean, this is an excellent choice. It smells like clean white bedsheets drying outside in the wind. Personally, I don´t think it is that interesting. The house of PDM has a lot more exciting fragrances than Galloway to offer. 6/10.

DichterundDenker

Better than Greenley and better than Sedley, but not as good as Percival. Galloway is a peppery mess. The iris saves the scent a bit, but overall it's a rather mediocre EDP.

belleofnewyork

I got this as a sample in a PDM order. The opening is very peppery, it almost overshadows the citrus to me. The middle and drydown are where Galloway really shines. This turns into a scent that's so familiar and nostalgic to me. It took me a bit to place it, but it reminds me of Calvin Klein Crave. It has a great early aughts smell to it.

Gamecocks1!

Love galloway I live Galloway my favorite

Hancho03

Ahh Galloway. Easily the most underrated gem from the House of PDM.

This is Fresh, and the uplifting kinda fresh. The citruses from the opening are bright, but not sharp (I mostly get orange zest). The pepper is there, but in the background to give a sorta spiciness.

Opening doesn’t last long, because after a half hour or so this develops into a clean floral musky scent. The orange blossom definitely plays the biggest roll here and is finely complimented by the musks they use here. For such a floral scent this definitely leans masculine in the best way.

I love how the freshness here just cuts through the air, it’s like a mountain breeze. Projects beautifully on a hot day like the ones here in Arizona. Very versatile, I even wear this one to the gym, but it’s definitely got way more class than that. Compliments galore. A summer staple for me, day or night.

8/10

Is this a must buy, no. But is it a must try, yup.

TomasN21

I used to like percival more than galloway.
But as time goes by i like galloway more now :)
It’s more unique and smells really nice.
For me best freshie from the house.

WeezyPipes

Starts like a smokey BBQ rub, fades to fried electronics, finishes dry and peppery. This is a weird one, I can't recommend it.

Danyol

Really fresh and different from the regular blue freshies.

Steven221283

@jbozz - It's not just you, I know exactly what you're talking about. It's not so much the smell as the sensation. It's like smelling cleaned clothes that are drying on a hot radiator, that's the only way I can explain it. I was in a shop with a heater on when I was smelling it, and I thought the heater was giving me that sensation, then I smelled it again outside and got the same thing. Very strange. Not a bad fragrance at all, smells nice enough, but that strange sensation it gives off (to me at least) put me off it

hollandbri

Don’t be fooled by the men’s bottling, a woman could definitely pull this off. Beautiful and unisex.

kndy38

Loved the initial blast, super clean, fresh and elegant... until 1h on my skin when it turned to a very peppery and musky frag.

Too bad, I'll pass.

7/10

jbozz

I really wanted to like Galloway but it has something off-putting to me almost like a burnt accord. Maybe its the pepper? For some reason it reminds me of a hot soldering iron or some kind of electrical burning smell which I know is weird but that’s what I get from this particular note. If only that wasn’t in there I feel it would be so much better, as some of the wafts I got were almost pleasant, but as it is this stuff is NOT blind buy worthy at all! Definitely test it on your skin first. I got roughly the same smell on a test strip. I don’t see this pulling compliments, but hey who knows, maybe it’s a skin chemistry thing. All that said, it did last a good while on my skin roughly 5-6 hours. But personally I would easily choose Sedley, Percival or Greenley any day over this one. No offense to anyone who enjoys this one but it’s definitely not my cup of tea.

serbanalexandru1986

in the dry it smells like cool water , silver mountain water but just a little sweater and mooore sweater green irish tweed

nicholasmendez13

Nice, honestly smells like a perfume for gay guys its so silky and fem.

Realest Rater 47

I think this lives up to the price point, quality is really good, great performance, very unique yet not too hard to pull off and wear, smells like someone with really good taste and personality.

Whateverwhocares

Fresh, soapy greenery. Smells okay if it were about $150 cheaper. Nothing out of the ordinary but it’s done well. The scent doesn’t dissipate with time or change much at all. It is what it is. Galloway beats Greenley, that’s for sure.

Kustomeyez

UPDATED discovery .. upon reading another review, comparing the dry down off this to Terrible Teddy by the house of Penhaligons is spot on! I almost purchased TT until I read that review and sprayed myself with Galloway looking for the similar vibe..& it is there, I couldn’t figure out what it was about TT that felt so unmistakably familiar, now I know.!!! And so do you.. Both Amazing scents but I say the PDM has a better overall scent profile. Something in the opening of TT is slightly off putting for the first hour to me, but then it takes a turn and heads down the PDM path which is gorgeous. Now on to my initial review of Galloway here…

This one right here to me, is…. As if you took Sedley and Greenley put ‘em in a room to procreate, and some time later out pops baby Galloway. Now to me Galloway is the naked iteration of both. Sedley and Greenley have a similar back bone, and that back bone is Galloway. It’s as if you stripped what makes Greenley Greenley and makes Sedley , Sedley you’d end up with Galloway which Galloway itself, is the similarity between the other 2 ….. if you ask me ,, I love ‘em All ✅ not too strong but not too weak either. Good quality juice. Financial advisory warning ⚠️ Never pay full Retail. , wait for a deal on jomashop and then pull the trigger. Ohh, and the references to photo copy machine smell, it’s not in a bad way, it’s quite pleasant, and the references to the pepper note is surely not off putting, to me this kinda has a slight ever so slight Burberry Hero vibe like a very fresh spicy cedar scent. I’mma try layering this with creed silver mountain water and see what kinda heaven on earth scent it produces. !!! So sip’N Sniff what ever makes you happy.. YOLO ohhh wait ,, forgot to mention the Iris ,,, yea it’s detectable to me, kinda plays into givenchy gentleman boise territory or however you say and spell boise 🤷🏼♂️.

jusknow

The definition of ‘overpriced.’ It smells fine but i can get something way cheaper that smells jus like it. Was excited to see iris in the notes but i can barely tell there’s any in it at all. The pepper off the top threw me off as well. No thanks

I like the notes here, but they just do meld well in this composition.

dabearjew82

No way person under me got a real bottle. People get stuff from discount sites and it's spoiled and it doesn't work. Especially citrus scents cannot stay out in great. Galloway is an easy pull and doesn't smell cheap at all. Plus from a freshy it lasts a very long time

iszzieanna

I adore musk fragrances, orange blossom and citruses, this is a mess. This smells like a poor made fragrance with cheap musk. The clash of them all made me so upset because I wanted a rich musk with sweetness from the orange blossom and citruses to keep it airy. This comes off as harsh, heavy and just poorly blended. To the comment that this smells like Dunder Mifflin, the office would smell like Andy's Roger Federer for men.

(edit: i did get a real bottle, bro tripping)
This is the niche version of burberry touch, smell and youll know what i mean

Clean, musky, the musk almost comes across smoky, the citrus and florals are more prominent in the opening and on paper/fabric, when sprayed on the skin it becomes more musky and ambery.

Smells luxuriously clean.

Great longevity but medium projection.

Best for spring summer fall day to day wear.

good warm weather signature imo

As much as I wanted to like this as I loved all the other PDMs I've had, I just don't really care for it. Soapy clean for sure, I can't deny that, but it is just really simple. I just think its not up to par with the other more complex fragrances of the house.

Ty/dc

I initially overlooked Galloway for PDM’s more richer darker scents more suited to the colder months. Now that summer is approaching I decided to give it a go and to my surprise this is a lovely fresh scent perfect for the summertime.

It’s not particularly complex but the pepper, Iris, citruses, orange blossom and musk all perfectly blend together creating a beautiful scent profile. I don’t really pick up any amber notes but it could be there supporting the whole composition.

Bthompson2388

I’ve worn this the past couple of days since we’ve had some warmer weather. I think it smells great! It’s unique and lasts an entire work day. I currently have a decant, but I’m really considering buying a bottle.

Mortekai

On my skin Galloway pushes very, very citrusy in the opening with a bit of that orange blossom dabbed in for the first hour, and fades away in the second hour, while the musk lingers. The mix of citrus and orange blossom are definitely an interesting, round scent, not sharp at all. In fact, Galloway is a very round, dull (not in a bad way) feeling scent from start to finish, and a very interesting and intriguing scent. I only get a very faint bit of iris, if any, but the musk stays with you throughout the day. It's surprisingly fresh, and the amber starts to push through on the back end after the top notes fade out, beautifully mixing in with the musk.

This is a great scent that you can dress up or down without any issue. It's much more unique than some other summer/spring offerings such as Sedley or Percival. While most people would be able to pick out the scents of the others, this has a bit of mystery to it for the general public without developed noses.

This fragrance easily lasted me 10 hours. First 2 hours have good projection of about an arms length, but it will become a close scent bubble after. Overall a lovely spring fragrance, and I would wear it in the summer in lower heat, as I think there are others that suit high heat summers a bit better. This is a 10/10 for me.

dayonee

Initially tested this on a strip and really liked the citrusy opening. Landed myself a bottle yesterday and tried it on skin. Much peppery that I expected. It hovers the line of being a bit too much for me but never crosses. Musky drydown but very softly done. Classy warm weather scent; more of a button down or a polo shirt than a t-shirt. Looking forward to wearing this in a warmer weather.

NotAnEqualizer

This fragrance is difficult to describe, so I'll probably confuse some people.

My first impression after spraying is that there's a clean, bright smokiness. I've heard some people describe this as similar to Dior Fahrenheit, and this was the first thing that came to mind even though I didn't expect it. It's only in the opening, though. It'll go away; it's not necessarily a bad thing either.

The iris is barely present. It's like Prada L'Homme, but dialed down. Not a bad thing, it's just a bit different.

This fragrance does something that all my Parfums de Marly fragrances do at the end of the day, when the scent has lived its life and turns into a skin scent late at night. They all have a bar soap smell, which is actually really good. I like smelling clean. However, Galloway brings it to the forefront and dials it up. Some people describe this as freshly cleaned laundry, and I can agree with that as well.

It also has the same "cooling" effect that you get from Parfums de Marly Pegasus and Terre d'Hermes Eau Givree. I really like it when perfumers achieve this in summer fragrances.

In the drydown, the musk is quite prominent in a good way. This is definitely a masculine scent.

I barely pick up the citrus in this scent. It's faint. This isn't a bad thing; I think it's deliberate. There's plenty of citrus freshies for the summer to pick from, so I think this is on purpose to be a bit different.

The scent profile is good overall. Very inoffensive and versatile. You could wear this with gym shorts. There's nothing fancy about this except the quality of the fragrance, which is great like all the Parfums de Marly fragrances I've tried.

This a really good fragrance for very hot and humid climates. It's not sexy; it's just clean and classy. It smells like you just got out of the shower and washed yourself with bar soap, or like freshly shampooed hair, and then sprinkle in tiny bit of Prada L'Homme but in an upscale Parfums de Marly way. Then in the drydown, I also get something reminiscent to Pengaligon Terrible Teddy, but lighter.

As I said, this scent is difficult to describe. I really like it.

Edit: Day 2 of wearing this, I can say the drydown reminds me of the citrusy herbalness of Acqua di Gio EDP, but with the added soap and freshness and a tiny bit of iris. I'm loving it.

Michelle12345678

The opening is nice. But the drydown is generic. You will be chasing those opening notes, and the drydown is pleasant, but nothing special and definitely not something worth this price. I will test again, but on 03/05/23 these are my impressions.

Ilikewhatilike

Big fan (both I like it, and in the fact that this frag goes perfectly with summer).

Sophisticated, quality, perfectly blended, modern, wealthy … I could go on as long as it projects (which is a long long time).

Just has everything. Iris / musk / citrus for the elegance and lasting freshness and some prominent black pepper cracked in for balance and an interesting pop.

Compliment getter if that’s what you need, chic forcefield if that’s what you want.

Sophia97

Simply remarkable, I hardly find fragrances like these now.

Yehoshua@me

Exquisite Pepper with Orange Blossom in the background. The Iris is barely noticeable together with the amber & woody sweet ambergris on dry down is ethereal. PDMG has something that most don’t detect and is a soft smoky fresh leather accord throughout except on the the dry down where the sweet ambergris vibe lives..5 out of 5 frag imho. stellar performance 8-10 hrs of healthy performance after that a skin scent that can last past to the 12hr+

evertonnick3

I got a 5 ml decant of Galloway and This is one of the most interesting fragrances I’ve ever smelled but in the same way as Santal 33 by Le Labo. (I love Santal 33 by the way). At the opening when I smelled this for the first time I did NOT like it. I was shocked that Parfum de Marly put something like this out. But after letting it sit I was like eh it’s not that bad. An hour or two later I thought it was actually pretty good. Would I buy a full bottle of this? No. Not at all. But it’s not a bad fragrance, but for the money I’d go elsewhere. I’m going to give it a few more wearings.

tanaC

Uhm.. Galloway. You are so musky!

I own, newer batch of this one and this also reduce concentration by 4% as well.

I think Galloway make difference and unique enough on it own. Why?

They Amp the musk to the max, feels almost animalic, nature of animalic smell is they are so punchy, when they also add the pepper. The bring the punch to the extreme so every get notice what are you wearing. This improve noticeability of musk.

Iris is also play a role here not extreme but enough for sophistication, I smell really up close to notice the plasticky lipsticky type of feel. They add this to make the fragrance more full body.

Nature of musk, is pleasing but not present.
In Galloway, the amp the supporting note to enhance the musk to the maximum, I found this style of fragrance in Tomford • Lavender Extreme.
That they bring note to support lavender to the max

So, I would say they make this difference enough not in the way of contemporary compose of White floral - Musk - Woody.

It’s dried down quite ultimate.
But you will get notice.

9/10

Ps. I didn’t quite get the strong white floral aspect for this version, only the white floral nuance. I think because of removal of lilial(?) however, I feel this make a plus from who concern about white flower / feminine thing. I suggest you try the newer batch one.

Edit 1 on May 22, 2023

I am bidding farewell to my little galloway. I was tried to find the position for him in my collection.

can’t after I venture into mask fragrance territory.

After a few wear (5-6 wears), I feel it smell like bleach to me when compare to 1957 by Chanel or even Midnight Musk & Amber from JML.

The musk is there but it was interrupt by heavy amber base that mostly PDM use so it quite a crash in composition, resulting in Chemical smelling. It is not smooth nor soft n gentle.

As if we looks for clean or powdery fragrance perspective, Pegasus is much alternative offering from this house as dry down also provide sort of musky feel, you still get the almond and heliotope to play along.

It is not a bad offering but the house is known for heavy amber fragrance.

Let’s leave this style to others.

Final verdict 4/10

MoonScent

Scent:
A mix of Amouage reflection man and le male added some Carner Barcelona Tardes with some cumin. The fragrance starts very feminine even for me that like floral and border gender fragrances. As the fragrance develope, the cumin gets stronger.

Wearability:
The fragrance is feminine adding a masculine note of Cumin. It is still not comfortable wear for me. I Prefer Amouage reflection man or Carner Tardes in place. I do recommend this or women I think this is a hard perfume to pull off.

Dry down:
The fragrance gets more masculine in the dry down and is better blended. I really don't know in wish occassions I would wear this one.

Iris:
The iris here doesn't resemble Dior homme. However it does contribute to making this scent feminine. It got thar old school iris that you find in vintage women perfumes.

Performance:
The projection and longevity are good... not a monster performer.

Achilleus

Honestly, I tried this in hopes of its lemony goodness being more pronounced, but it was not the case, it was more smokey than anything, and the smokiness definitely hindered that citrusy scent I desired, it was definitely overpowering it. And as a result, it loses its identity, it becomes something else. It's definitely a more mature scent, if you're young, I'd skip on this.

gbrnyzbk

Lalique white from 2008 in a niche bottle. Don t do that PDM. Am a big fun of you

49424

Pleasant, but unremarkable. Certainly not niche quality.

AlessandroCB

This fragrance is beautifully weird, It's like that ugly dude that always has a good looking woman on his side. We don't know how he does it but for sure he knows how to play it. Opening is a totally different fragrance as it past the hours. To me it reminds me of the "Dryness" of the clothing when you take it out from the dryer. Or those who have clean the AC conducts and have smelled the "Burnt" dust from it. Not in the bad way of course, it's a pleasant smell and kinda safe to wear anywhere. I haven't give it a wear, but surely after trying it on my arm and going back and forward I will give it a try with some decants.

RileyB

Gorgeous scent! Galloway is VERY reminiscent of the lemony citrus white pepper dynamics of Lalique White in the top to mid phase especially (which is an excellent scent in it’s own right btw). The difference from Lalique White being that in the top phase Galloway has quite a strong, dry, chalky cloud of musk that surrounds and embodies the lemon white pepper. The overall effect gives off a very Clean kind of vibe.
The review below that references being like the interior a newly constructed building is very apt. If you’ve ever smelt the chalkiness of interior drywall being installed and finished, that is very reminiscent of the white chalkiness mixed with the musk in the top to mid of Galloway. It also adds an almost slight newly mixed cement like aspect to that chalkiness, but cement that’s already three quarters dry as it’s only very subtle. All that adding to this being a more masculine leaning scent for sure.
The chalkiness and slight cement like aspects of the musk dissipate as it dries down though, as does some of the peppery aspects. The result is a smooth, soft, lightly spiced pepper lemon musk thats very enjoyable to wear. Quite addicting in fact! Its not a loud scent but certainly makes its presence felt and lasts really well too.

a.kittilsen

In the first couple of minutes, there is a lot going on.
I smell fahrenheit, Silver Mountain water, green irish tweed etc.
Its hard putting your finger on what exactly it smells like. Ive heard it being compared to freshly printed paper. It has an ink smell that reminds you of Silver Mountain Water, and the rest of the drydown can remind you of fresh warm paper, but ill get to that later.

While its hard to grasp what it smells like as it reminds you if lots of different fragrances. The thing that stands out the most is the smell of hendricks gin and tonic.
Thats it. Thats what this fragrance smells like.

When it dries down, it loses just about everything that made it special and fun to begin with. It just smells pleasant at this point.
But it smells so pleasant that you cant really go wrong with it. But at this point, you could really wear any non-offensive fragrance and get the same results or better.
Depending on if you feel this as dry or kinda wet it will smell like freshly printed paper that has cooled for a minute, or if you feel it being more wet it may smell like damp cave/marble/concrete building with water around you.

Personally, I feel something is missing in the drydown. Its like putting on an amazing show but missing the lead singer.

And to finish this up, I gave myself another spray to fact-check myself i guess. And yeah. This is magic in a bottle the first hour or two, but then it becomes nothing basically.

Long post, but this one was hard to describe

Mr. Fisk

A VERY good office scent. Very pleasant neutral smell.

Also, this reminds me of a eau fraiche version of Kalan. Probably just me lol.

bounce442

Big PDM fan. This is a safe blind buy. It's a nice clean, Citrus/Musk fragrance that is timeless. Calm and relaxing but also masculine and distinguished - much like Creed's Green Irish Tweed without smelling much like it. It has great performance and longevity.
I can't compare this to any other scent I've smelled (besides the GIT comparison above) - I have heard comparisons to Lalique White but I have never smelled that one.
Great spring/summer scent for home, office, or casual occasions.

I love how Squishyy right below describes it: "Like a newly constructed building." Or a house even, with a freshly painted white coat of paint inside. Lovely description.

Squishyy

I struggle to detect it at all... Maybe something went wrong with my sample, or my skin just has horrible chemistry with this; I'm not sure. It feels like when I wear any Creed, LOL.

What I do smell, I Freakin' LOVE. This is a hidden gem. It's as clean as an empty, white, newly constructed building and doesn't smell like a dryer sheet. I might add that Galloway is the furthest thing from a situational fragrance. This will work everywhere... always. Kind of a jack of all trades factor going on. Master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one. This would be such an awesome signature. Anyone who rocks this isn't trying to make a statement. They don't need to. Because they're probably someone fully comfortable with themself. That's Galloway's vibe.

I'll most likely buy a full bottle soon. I need to do more research regarding this performance, but what the hell... It's not too expensive on discounters, and who doesn't love the look of these bottles?

UPDATE: I'm not sure what changed, but now I'm getting the performance. It doesn't project super far, but it lasts forever. That will be perfect for some people.

Wore this to work yesterday--one of my favorites for the office given that it never offends, it embodies class, it lasts nearly forever, but it isn't boring.

So I was at work, wearing Galloway, when we received the news that Queen Elizabeth had passed away. I live in DC so I left work a few minutes early, grabbed some flowers, and stopped by the British Embassy on my way home to pay my respects.

I happened to glance at Galloway's Fragrantica profile today and noticed that it is named after a Scottish racehorse. In retrospect, it seems like it was such a fitting fragrance to wear (unintentionally) in memory of someone whose love of Scotland and racehorses was famous. A sad day, but glad to have made a small scent connection to mark it.

Never offends, embodies class, lasts nearly forever, but definitely not boring!

Have you ever visited a water cave before? For you who have or at least seen the footage before please close your eyes and imagine entering it once again.

When entering one immediately we will feel the cool climate inside the cave surroundings no matter what the temperature outside. The dominant presence of pure fresh water in the air of water cave is what Galloway offers right from the first spray. The portray of a quite and refreshing surroundings vividly comes to mind when wearing it.

The water is still and calm coherent with character of this fragrance. An excellent fragrance that doesn't need to be breakdown apart for the notes. An olfactory transporting wonder that also works amazingly as a perfume. A rare combination amongst today's creation.

The soothing yet elegant quality is perfect to be wear in hot weather or whenever in need to feel refreshed with more than just a simple cologne.

It definitely has inky quality found in Xerjoff Mefisto (if I remember correctly) and Creed Silver Mountain Water. But it is artfully done in a well balanced manner just for the ambiance effects. It last superbly great too for this type of fragrance.

Thank you for reading and I'm looking forward to share many more to our wonderful community 😇. Wishing everyone a wonderful day ✨

I like this one, a bit better than layton. its more original in its own direction. very nice scent not too. anything just a perfect blend and a nice pleasant scent. smells elegant and classy. could be used in many different occasions. ill try it out this week and update.

This smells like my pepper shaker

pianogoon

Fresh, citrus opening with a spiced powdery and very pleasing musky, lightly iris dry down. I’d be happy to smell like this in all spring, summer and early autumn. Would be a nice summer evening fragrance and have something less powdery for daytime, don’t get me wrong still very wearable in the day though.

Better than Sedley in my opinion and second to Percival as a PdM freshie goes. Still to try Greenley so can’t compare, yet.

aczwy

ozonic; citrus, a little bit of spice. this reminds me so much of an abercrombie and fitch cologne but more refined and mature.

MarkFL

Love this. I haven’t smelled Lalique White; so I’ll say I can in a way id call this a stepchild of GIT, Cool Water, and Silver Mountain Water… with a grandparent of Le Labo Another 13. All are ‘similar’ but all are different. This is masculine and peppery up top with citrus, that goes away quickly. Then it becomes where it stays for hours- peppery musk (the fresh clean musk, not a sweaty musk). This musk can be what they use in Another 13; very comparable musk note. But this is more spicy, but at the same time the amber delivers a little bit of sweetness not in Another 13. It’s airy / powdery quality is what makes it a second skin type scent but it’s much stronger than a skin scent and long lasting. Easy blind reach, gets compliments, and is very ‘distinguished / gentlemenly’.
Scent 9/10 Classy, slightly ‘been there done that’ style reminiscent of cool water but much better performance.
Longevity 8/10 I get 7-8hrs of this; then the musk becomes a complete skin scent but I’m ok with a full working day fr any scent.
Performance 8/10 two hours arms length projection with good sillage. Sits closer to skin once it lands in its musk / amber stage but easy to pickup.
Overall 8.5/10 Blind reach, anytime of the year, specifically here in Florida. Will repurchase once my bottle is out.

Arber Cami

Musky, peppery, ozonic smell. Nothing unique and boring to say the least. Opens up peppery and citrusy, dry down is slightly musky, peppery with an ozonic violet leaf/cucumber smell. Pass 100%.

Arizona2022 🏆

Galloway! One of the best and clean scents around. Sweet and sexy; also good silage and longevity. Try it on scent split before you buy, but, it is a beautiful cologne.

SleepyDave

Super dry and a tad bitter citrus scent. In terms of colours it feels really “white”. This is the second time I wear it, liked it more the first time as this second wear almost gives out a metallic scent due to the powdery and bitter vibe.

I’m not against it, but if I had to pick alternatives for spring/summer wear I’d go with Layton for summer nights and Percival for summer days. Carlisle is the real star of the PdM lineup though but is for cooler weather.

I’d personally rank the PdM perfumes I’ve tried as follows;

1. Carlisle (fall/winter and cooler spring evenings)
2. Layton (all year round for me)
3. Herod (fall/winter)
4. Percival (spring/summer)
5. Galloway (spring/summer)
6. Pegasus (fall/winter/spring)
7. Sedley (spring/summer)
8. Greenley (spring/summer)

Qleen

Elegant breezy fresh spicy citrus , the black pepper & iris is what makes this the most unique out of the freshies inside the PDM house … greenly i find To be a more feminine sweet version of nishane’s Hacivat not bad @ all just already own the manlier take on that particular dna, sedley is their interpretation of a blue dna in which they did good but has that familiarity of things like Dylan , Prada carbon , sauvage etc so if you’re looking for something a little more Everyday and not typical try Galloway great scent in my opinion. I can’t say rather i enjoy this over sedley because i burn Them about the same

dudebro

This cologne was a total surprise. its beauty lies in its subtle and clean floral sillage that gently radiates from the body.

Backstory:
I was on the hunt for a new summer freshie. My search started with Fierce, which I almost blind bought, and I'm glad I didn't. When I tried it in the store at the mall it was gone in an hour.

I was all but certain I would make up for this by buying Percival, which is known for being a very long-lasting, Fierce-like freshie. What I found interesting was reviews on Percival often include comments on PdM's other fresh fragrance, Galloway.

nonetheless I headed to Nordstrom with the intention of buying Percival. I'm at the counter and sprayed Percival on the left wrist and Galloway on the right wrist for good measure.

at first Percival was too sweet to my nose, like some other blue fragrances. I realized why people think this is "generic", but it really smells great in the dry down.

I test drove these 2 PdMs for two hours as I walked around the mall. The Percival drydown is beautiful as it settles. however the remarkable thing to me was that I kept smelling this lovely, soft swirl of orange blossom and musc around me. The softer Galloway created a more noticeable, and more beautiful sillage, radiating from my body, even though it's a "lighter" scent.

Review:
though the notes seem simple, the Galloway dry down was not. the peppery orange helps Galloway project for 3 hours, and it never fully fades. Then orange blossom takes the lead, and iris provides a powdery softness, both slowly fading over the next 3 hours, leaving you with a sweetly fresh, airy "second skin" aura in the base. overall I get 6 to 8 hours of longevity. Even at 10+ hours Galloway very subtly lingers.

I kept trying to convince myself I wanted Percival (which was also great!) but the fact was undeniable. Galloway unexpectedly won my heart to break the tie. The musc is gorgeous, and not at all animalic. it's creamy, soft and clean. the ever-changing introduction of notes elevates this freshie above most on the market.

overall I would rate this 9/10. If this cologne had friends it would be Another 13, Petit Matin, and Neroli Portofino.

NOTE: smells nothing like GIT, nor SMW. I own and love the former, and dislike the latter.

anthonycball

Simple. Pure. Borlerline minimalistic. Just like the all-white bottle entails. A brief, brisk citrus opening. Gently floral. Evolving into a light, clean musk with the slightest touch of warm amber. This fragrance serves a need; however, performance junkies need not apply.

There's a growing market for simple, light, minimalistic scents. Whether or not this is what PDM had intended, Galloway has been one such fragrance for me with my full bottle experience.

An excellent option for those working in close proximity office situations, those who value scent over performance, and anyone seeking a safe, inoffensive, or otherwise borderline minimalistic scent.

I'm almost 100 percent sure people are getting expired bottles from discounters based on the reviews below. This smells great and the longevity is very good for a citrus scent. My skin is horrible with citruses but this one sticks around for around 3.5 hours which is good for a edp. Would love it more were it an Extrait with a little more ambergris

AnotherFragBoy

I am wearing this for the first time, about 12 sprays. It's a cold night and I am surrounded by people who have little or nothing to say. (in other words I do not expect to receive any compliments or comments)...
That being said, this scent is actually a well blended freshy. It has been about ten hours since application and this thing still projects well! A double spritz to each outer arm and the performance is great.
The scent profile however is not an eye opener for me. It smells pleasant, and that's it! Nothing more.

3NO7

Reminds me of that TexSun orange juice us Texas boys used to drink way back when. Squeezed straight from Republic of Texas orange trees (it’s an actual variety of orange tree). Spicy, Bittersweet and definitely an acquired taste, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Somehow, them French folks figured out how to recreate a nostalgic smell from the harsh Texas landscape!

Bravo! I love it and thank you!

Tsvetomir Venchov

Great composition with a poor longevity and sillage. Really sad!

Sam654

Not a fan. On me it has a powdery and almost medicinal smell. The best part of the experience was that the sample was free.

Joey_Jnr

I agree with C MART this scent is wretched any reviewer that says other wise is pull the piss. It’s almost like moth balls. It can smell like freshly printed paper but who wants to smell like that. It’s simply a scent that smell stale.

C MART

I had a very small sample of this from 2019 and it smelled good when I sprayed it on a business card. I decided to order a bottle (4.2) and sprayed it on my skin. It’s wretched and just doesn’t work on my skin. The scent smells like something old it’s really hard to describe.
I still have the box if anyone wants to trade or buy if you love this scent. Message me if you can if interested. It just doesn’t work for me.

Eshhthep

If you want to know how this smells, smell a strong hand sanitizer bottle.

TJ1997

Galloway is a nice clean fragrance. The problem comes with the price, I don't like it enough to warrant the price. It's bright in the opening, the must will quickly become the star player. A slight spicey nuance is detected with Iris acting as a supporting note with some sweetness.

I usually pass on heavy musky fragrance, but it's done quite well here. Unless I find it for a great price, it's not worth it. That's a big issue with Parfums de Marly, their more oriental cold weather fragrances are better than their warm-weather offerings.

It has the scent of those huge red candles that you set out for Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners. Although it has a good aroma in general, is it suitable for use as a cologne? No. At least not for me.

Messi1743

I tried to like this. I don’t have super sophisticated nose but I own Layton and Pegasus exclusif versions in both and Layton. The black pepper note is very strong for me and stays with it very strongly if that’s what I am smelling. I don’t think this is a blind buy. I had percival and sold it. That’s fare more blind buyworthy.

Update after I went back to it. It’s nice. It’s no mind blowing nice. It’s unique in a sedated way. Wore it this am as well. Wife asked wow what are you wearing it’s smells great and she is a tough cookie to please especially with my collection lol

brantsa21

I really, really wanted to like this, but there was something about it I couldn’t get behind. Although I loved the citrus/zing and musk there was a powdery-ness to it, maybe it’s just me, but I didn’t like it and became a skin scent for me very quickly.

Percival became a skin scent too but Sedley settles and stays a while for me. So these like others are just really dependent on you so don’t think Galloway is unworthy of a try as it has a great scent and is most definitely more masculine leaning given the musky nature of it.

zachtor23

To me, this scent is perfect. Galloway is, and always will be, my signature scent.

Its beauty lies in its simplicity; yet it doesn't take its simplicity for granted. Every note and accord is so well done, and the manner in which they are blended leaves traces of intelligence, kindness, and humility.

The pepper gives the slightest bit of edge and masculinity to the combination of white florals and the white musk. To me, it's gentlemanly, but in a kind way. In an inviting way. It's so simple. But it's simple done to perfection.

It's casual when I need it to be. It's formal when I need it to be. It's sexy when it needs to be. It's friendly when I need it to be.

It's perfect for any occasion, literally anytime of the year, and its performance is PERFECT. Every. Single. Time.

I get my 3 hours of brilliant projection, followed by my 3-4 hours of really nice projection, followed by a second skin with some additional mmph for the remainder of my day/night.

I get a consistent sillage and scent trail throughout the life of the wear, which brings people in (especially if you have a kind, easygoing, charismatic personality.

It gets me through my day always, but never overstays its welcome.

Compliments have been near endless - this scent is me. Be it across a table while outdoors, or in close quarters with a friend or lover, people pick it out, and people identify me by it.

I feel like my best self when I wear Galloway. I am my most interesting. I am my most lively. I am my most confident. I am my most high on life.

I will wear this on my wedding day, on the day I become a father, and on the day I give my Oscars speech.

it is fresh citrus and peppery! somehow it reminds me of mosquito repellent RIDSECT after 5mins

Mina Abdo

That is easily one of the best summer fragrance you can ever come across.
Fresh, powerful, masculine, spicy and clean.
This is the kind of perfume that makes you understand how niche perfume should be.

Aroma Bob

Longest lasting citrus that I have. Will buy another bottle when done if I can get for 130 like this one.

Seuni

It opens up strong and masculine. There's lots of black pepper and bright, strong citrus, mostly bergamote and white grapefruit. The opening is reminiscent of many masculine, versatile fragrances of today's market - I'm not pointing fingers because I know the reaction already.

In the mid there's less strong pepper, it goes to the background. The front is mix of citrus, I'd say mostly bergamote and bitter orange, with white orange flower note.

Dries down to a musk overload, which, by the way, is present since the first seconds after applying. There's a ton of white, fresh aroma smelling like clean, fresh skin, and fresh laundry. There's not much amber I think, the iris is not prominent or dominating.

In the opening it's peppery, very masculine, strong and dominative with a bergamote background. Later it does smell like what people say - white, warm, out of the printer paper, white linen shirt, an lots of clean skin.

It's overall unisex, but leaning masculine, especially in the opening. The projection is strong for the first 2-3 hours, then moderate. Lasts about 7, maybe 8 hours when perspirating, on my skin. It's anytime anyone, office safe, but I'd say leaning masculine and best for spring, summer, heat, daytime.

It's somewhat similar to Dior Homme Cologne, but less soapy sweet and more masculine and musky/powdery. Somewhat similar to Artisan Pure minus all the green notes, plus white notes and pepper masculinity. The opening is similar to (put a masculine, moder, versatile fragrance here), minus woods and aquatics.

I have to admit, it's not really groundbreaking. It's not boring, but I can imagine this being sold with half it's pricetag at Sephora. No way I'd buy it full reatil, luckily I bought it at a discounter for 40%. I like it, there's quality, surprising performance for a citrus, but if you were to introduce someone to niche with this scent they'd go 'that's it? Really?'.

Dirtyhoody

Super clean and somewhat elegant smelling. Would work in just about any situation. I'm going to get a lot of wear out of this. I should've opted for the big bottle. Oh well I'll just get it as a backup.

After wearing it a few times I like it way more than layton which I also own. This is just feels better put together.

Jarlai

I love Galloway. It’s a citrusy, musky fragrance that’s easy to wear. Good for the office, hang out with friends, going for a run… I even got compliments wearing it. Performance is awesome and the price is right. Some don’t like it because it’s not exotic enough for them, but I think it is a beautiful fragrance you can wear most of the time, and feel good doing so. It is a champ even not trying hard.

Lamont Cranston

Love it. The opening reminds me so much of Green Irish Tweed, which is probably my favorite fragrance of all time behind PDM Layton. The dry downs of Galloway and GIT, however, are very different. The base of GIT is a lovely mélange of floral and sandalwood while the base of Galloway has a robust earthiness thanks to the musk. I own both and they are my favorite warm weather fragrances. I save GIT for Spring and Galloway for Summer.

Of the PDM offerings most folks opt for Percival for warm weather but, in my opinion, Percival is too reminiscent of the gazillion other "blue" fragrances on the market. When you plunk down the considerable amount of scratch that it takes to purchase a PDM fragrance you expect to stand out a little and Percival comes up a tad short in that regard.

In the opening of Galloway you get the lovely tartness of citrus balanced with the zing of pepper. The pepper is still at the wheel during the drydown but this time it's balanced with some iris. At the base is the musk which, I believe, pushes this firmly into masculine territory. As for performance you can expect projection of 3-5 feet in the first three hours and a skin scent for another five hours. So it has outstanding performance for a freshie warm weather fragrance.

In summary this is one of the sleeper hits of the PDM line and definitely worth your consideration if you're looking for a Summer beast.

RoBoT

Let’s keep this simple, it’s a niche version of Givenchy Gentleman Cologne. Not exactly the same when compared side by side, but just one smell of Galloway and you can pick it up. This is one of the underrated PdMs IMO. Fantastic spring and summer frag.

activeharley

Smells like a very hot iron on a crisp white cotton shirt.. not bad, but not my personal preference. Too simplistic.

Krasseman

Very bright citrus, a different citrus than what I have smelled before. Super fresh but not juicy, very dry in a way. Unique take on a fresh citrus scent.

MarsOnEarth

To my nose this opens like Lalique white but transforms to a more musky Silver Mountain Water without the ink. I wanted Silver Mountain Water but I think I will be grabbing Galloway. It's never beast mode but it is always there. Nice green musk. Can be dressed up or dressed down.

Makers001

Opening is a smoky wood, like BBQ chips. After initial opening, smells like walking in a green forest with baby powder: earthy, green, powdery and woodsy. Almost smells like hot, freshly printed paper or freshly dried laundry. Great gentlemanly scent that can be worn casually or to the office. Probably my favorite scent.

1Nose2RuleThemAll

Beautiful refined fresh pepper-citrus combo. Smells well blended but it leans very masculine.
IMO it's not unisex. A lot of niché brands just market most of their perfumes as unisex for more profit and sells.

Steven221283

It does smell like freshly cleaned laundry to be fair, as if it's just come out of the tumble dryer and still has that warm smell to it. But I really am not a fan of it at all. Entirely boring and kind of strange. I thought I had walked in front of a heater in the shop at one point when I was smelling this on my arm, and that warm smelling sensation was coming from that, but it turned out it was just the fragrance. I don't get it.

Angelotti rvt

The only similarity with lalique´s white is the pepper, while this is citrus but more orange and of course orange blossom, white is more lemon and pepper.

Anyways this smells so pleasant, elegant, it makes you thing dressing a white suit, summer but not at the beach, suitable for wedding in a garden or any event in a garden of a big mansion, it´s really elegant and pleasant.

Longevity is really long lasting, more than 6 hours for sure, sillage it strong for 2 hours, after that you will notice hints of the smell in the air at least for the next 5 hours when it dries down, but for that you need to apply more than 4 sprays.

soroush_mgh

Literally, smells like ironing the clothes that are just washed in a washing machine using a high quality washing liquid!

Simple, classy, sophisticated and long lasting!
This is my second favorite scent from PDM right after Layton Exclusif!

PerfumeForLainy

Summer test.
Seemingly clean and fresh start, immediately followed by an extremely prominent screechy mineral note, that turnes my stomach. No musc is ever that unpleasant. Very strange, naturally long lasting and hard to remove. Naturally - as in "all of the offensive notes last the longest on us". Reminded me of my first acquaintance with BCR540: "Hmm, this is weird, but potent, what is it? ...oh, dear lord, get it off me and out of the house, bury the bottle deep."

If you have the same sensitivity as me, take a look at the other PDM perfumes. Percival is closest in freshness and very wearable, the rest are either sweeter or spicier.

cobrar97

Simple, yet complex. It's a fresh-ish frag, but to me it's very well done. It's my go-to for hotter days where other PDM frags are just too much. It's not that usual out-of-the-shower soapy fresh, but rather a sophisticated, dry-fresh. It might not be exciting for some people, but I love it and wear it all the time in the summer. It projects well and lasts most of the day.

BlueMoon

GENTLE DAY SCENT

This is not ground breaking. Nor should it be. Every niche house needs an easy-to-wear fragrance in their offerings.

A sparkly, gentle, citrus-floral-musk that dries down beautifully. Unisex but leans masculine.

Nice job, Marly.

Irisian

This is good. But it’s basically a glorified Davidoff Cool Water…not GIT as it lacks that signature green and earthy vibe of Creed’s all-time classic.

photonparable

If dry cleaning were a fragrance. So clean, simple, and professional. If I had to get a gift for a newbie to the fragrance world that just landed a job at JP Morgan or McKinsey, this would be it.

AMajeedQT

Parfums de Marly's most natural.

Galloway is the most natural-smelling scent PdM has to offer. Galloway is dominated by fresh, juicy, slightly sweet orangish citruses. The fresh zesty citrus is spiced up with a slightly sharp pepper note. Then, a green & herbal tea-like accord give Galloway a more natural grassy/leafy, garden-like smell. This accord is likely the orange blossom/musk combo. The iris & amber are not obvious.

Fresh, citrusy, spicy, green, zesty, invigorating, musky, mildly-sweet, & natural-smelling.

It smells like a walk in a garden during summer/spring time. Galloway has to be one of PdM's easiest & most mass-appealing fragrances. Its fresh citrusy/spicy smell is akin to that of deodorants & shower gels, & I don't mean that in a negative way, but it smells like it could be easily the smell of a beautifully-smelling hygiene product. We know there is a lot of that. I've seen so many ask for fragrances that smell like a certain cream or hair product even.

If you are looking for a citrusy musk, this is a decent option. I think if the pepper was toned down just a bit, 5-10% less, it would've made Galloway even better as it would've rounded its peppery sharpness.

Nonetheless, Galloway is a very nice warm weather wear that pleases the masses. The noticeable pepper note makes Galloway lean more masculine.

Big "Like"

The Real Chip Diamond

Freshly printed paper, still warm.

Yjinn

I can detect all the notes listed and more prominently the iris. It great when a scent smells exactly how you imagined them. But I didn't expect it to smell exactly like Zara Iris home fragrance (not a bad thing). I like this a lot.

stc__24

This is not a bad scent. I enjoy it. The only problem, for me is that it is not unique. It has a sweet freshness throughout its life. Overpriced, but not a bad scent. In my opinion, it is very mass appealing.

b1ad3

Galloway is a like for me. This might be the longest lasting citrus I have experienced. I still pick it up in the dry down. It screams quality with class and I feel it has a light, piercing essence to it. There are comparisons to GIT, but only in the iris note in the opening. I love GIT, but I do not think they are too similar. Each has unique qualities that stand apart from the other. Galloway gives off a bit of a leather vibe in the dry down. This is a great fragrance for Spring and possibly Summer (nights), though I'll need to test it out again when it gets super hot to be sure. It might be too strong for hot Summer days.

Scent: 3/5

Ericstraordinary

This stuff is nowhere near as boring or bland as I assumed it would be.
It has been described as smelling somewhat of photocopy paper on the drydown, and I guess I can see a little bit of that. I think the best way I can describe the way it feels to me is like walking into a damp bathroom mere seconds after a member of the opposite sex just had a nice, long shower. It is musky, clean, moist and has something that just makes me think of lovely shampooed hair. I am thoroughly enjoying this.
Longevity and projection are decent but not awesome.
The bottle is beautiful and feels well made.

Krisena

I was surprised to see that leather was not a note in this. My associations immediately went to expensive leather car seats. Somewhat sweet leather car seats. I suppose it's more of an emergent scent? It's pleasant.

kachimalik

My most mature scent till date. Smells like an English man in a white rolls Royce driving through a field of white florals in spring

lakkiirfan

Lalique White, refined beautifully.

_marcuscortes

Very unique citrus scent to me and i love it. Its citrusy but slightly spicy also has a very clean musk. My girlfriend loves it and so do my boys. I think this is super mass appealing, great for young adults since it doesnt come off as a super mature scent to me, its even come to be my new signature scent! Great longevity at 8 hrs and i think it can be worn year round but it will thrive in the spring and summer. Sample worthy for sure i wouldnt suggest blind buying any fragrance but we are all guilty of that lol

hintysuffix

A great fresh peppery citrus scent for the warmer days. Performance is superb. Galloway is a more interesting and unique fresh fragrance

Ksj_

Whoa! What a highly refined pepper scent. Very unique to my nose. This one is a must buy.

DrDohm

DrDohm

This scent is awesome, classic and modern in the same time, young and old can wear this, suitable for spring and to some extent summer, but there is something about this fragrance I can't tolerate, something harsh and sharp bother me just minutes after the opening, maybe the spices, to be more specific black pepper, maybe some people don't feel the way I feel, or they feel nothing is harsh or sharp.

This fragrance one of the fragrances that you should try once and twice, get a sample and try it and wear it full wear and see if you like it, I'm not trying to say its bad scent, but maybe is not suitable for me due to what I mentioned.

Bilko72

I really like Galloway, I own full bottles of Carlisle & Layton but I bought the sample set as well. Herod is a bona fide killer, as is Pegasus Exclusif. Percival was a disappointment, it wasn’t bad, it was just really average & overpriced. Galloway is really good, it’s different. My gf wears Delina Exclusif & they really complement each other. Impressed.

Honcho Davo

DO NOT BLIND BUY. I get a very smooth, spicy musk with a hint of sweetness. Not my cup of tea. Can't even decide what season to wear this in.

First blind bought this over a year ago. Hated it. Wanted to give it another shot now with my nosed being a bit more developed. Still hate it. However, after it dries down deep into 4 hours the spiciness goes away and is quite pleasant. Still wouldn't wear tho. Take review this with a grain of salt cuz we're all different. My girlfriend actually loves this on me but I'd never wear it

JohnnyFunk69

This is pretty meh. It isn't a bad scent. It's just very boring and doesn't stand out. I think it's the worst of parfums de marly even though it is still high quality. It smells like a fresh, clean musk with some oriental thing in the background. Percival and sedley are much better fresh fragrances. I don't think this is worth the money.

Bfish88

My goodness this is great! It was love at 1st sample for sure. I get everything except the iris and amber. The pepper and citrus blends with white florals and musk to make this a very well blended unique and pleasant fragrance. (Never smelled lalique white) But Galloway has a very addictive scent to it and is not your typical citrus summer freshie. I get a bit of woodsy nuance probably from the pepper, sometimes cedar smells like pepper to me. But this has great lasting power for a spring or summer fragrance. It's a good balance of light and dark, strong and soft, unique and pleasing. Well done PDM, this gets a personal 10/10 from me! I have Percival, Sedley and Galloway and even though I'm in the minority probably, Galloway is MY favorite.

The Wolf

Nice opening. More interesting than I expected.
Smells soapy and clean IMO.
Swiss army knife frag that can be used in nearly every scenario except formal.
Nice performance. Underrated IMO.

Katabetha

Very pretty fresh gentlemany fragrance. I am a degenerate though so I passed

Kloppo

Musky, powdery and creamy citrus. I'm honestly at aloss how to describe it. 4.5/5 for me and debating a full bottle. If i were to compare it to anything i'd say it's a classier version of dior homme cologne.

Xeno

Pepper at its finest, combined with musk and iris! That’s all i get! Very nice summer fragrance, but not my favorite of the house!

Blackacid

I love it... reminds me on gentlemen cologne. Nice citrus opening but much better musky copy paper powdery drydown.

Its not strong projecting fragrance but nice musky powdery office scent for true gentleman... Nothing in common with GIT

Cbenesko

This smells like chemicals, and not in a good way. Expensive bathroom cleaner.

JollyOlly

It's a really simple fragrance but at the same time a hard to describe. Its complex but at the same time simple. Fresh but not fresh. Its green but not green. I havent smelled anything like it before. Sure, it gives me some similarities to Creed Green Irish Tweed. Im intrigued. Looking forward to experiencing it even more!

old danny boy

Galloway I voted Like. At first I was it's just ok, but sticking with it, it migrates to a like for me. A weak like.

First off, pretty much anything from PdM is going to have an obvious quality to it, and it often comes down to how much it's your type. Put PdM has some surefire winners in my books, in particular the incredible Layton. This the pepper and musk seem to combine into a bit of an incense tint to it, and bizarrely a little bit of gas station smell (which is a smell I actually do love, but wouldn't want to smell like). I do get the orange which normally isn't so much my cup of tea.

I don't think I get as much out of the citrus that others do, so this doesn't feel like a summer scent to me which seems the dominant opinion here. More like a fall day and night. Can't recommend as a blind buy.

vaguely

Awesome musk dominant scent. Perhaps too simple for some, at least as a signature, but it's something I still like to wear every now and then.

It's so fresh and so clean clean, and the pepper mingles very well with the musk. ;]

BigDurian

Galloway is confidently subtle, clean, masculine, and has good performance.

I wore it a lot when I first got it, as my go-to casual fragrance. But nowadays... almost never. It's a fragrance that does not have what it takes to stay interesting over the long haul.

simpatica

I was having second thoughts because I was afraid Galloway would be too masculine for a woman since I don't really see reviews here from women, but eventually purchased it blindly.
I'm glad I did. I actually love it ! It smells fresh, clean, unique and really nice.
I think Women can really wear Galloway, it's not too masculine.

Bruton Gaster

Fresh clean musky scent. Opening is like a citrusy clean laundry detergent, in a good way. Then dries into a clean musk with a little iris. Cedar-y dry down, I wonder if it's amberwood. In the hottest heat the pepper/cedar drydown is a little strong for me. Otherwise Great spring/summer scent if it's not too warm. Unique and surprisingly long lasting with decent projection, which isn't the case with a lot of freshies. Definitely worth a smell

Emgamo

I Can describe Galloway with three words. Fresh - Clean - Masculine
This represend the determined & strong man +30 with a strong willpower.. Just like the Scottish weather and nature but
deep down very beautiful just like the scottish rivers.

This perfume can be worn all year round, Night and day.. just like Layton.
My girlfriend does not like my nichbrand perfumes BUT she loves Galloway and Layton

hardyn

Smells exactly like A light version of Tom Ford Velvet Orchid. I sprayed one on each wrist and cannot tell the difference between the two

cnote76us

How many dipshits? Let me count the ways... actually, no. Not enough time.

Look, clownville...it's simple. Not every fragrance needs to be "a masterpiece", or "beast mode". So many neo-fragshits on here it is unbearably suffering. Yet, here I am... Yielding to the insufferability of human existence and I digress.

Bottom line, this fragrance is safe, pleasurable, yet interesting and dare I say, different than other PDMs...omg, pig squadron with ostentatiously forward prerequisites need to go kick rocks. This fragrance rocks.

The End

Jole_pinoy

To me, It s suffocating, unpleasant PDM. A Big no for me.

MNadz

Super pleasant clean fragrance with great longevity! This really caught me off guard...with the note breakdown, I was thinking this was going to be another generic office citrus/musk fragrance. This is heads and tails above others in this genre.

Opens with a great subdued citrus note. As it dries down, this note blends very well with the iris/orange blossom combo. At this point, these notes work so well together. Understated confidence and sexiness is what I get. Ultimately, a very clean musk rounds this out for the duration of the fragrance.

Longevity is superb for this type of fragrance. Easily got into the 10 hour mark before I reapplied the sample. Projection is slightly above average. Easily unisex...my wife liked it on me and herself.

Great for spring/summer. Could work in fall as well.

This goes into my favorites for PDM...Oajan, Herod, Layton and Kalan. Try a sample to live with for a few days...but I do think a sample would lead to a bottle.

Carlito.Fragrance

big story here ... i'm not fan of Parfums De Marly .. I believe it's very overrated Niche brand by many of you-tubers other reviewers but ...
i'm fan and i love 4 fragrance from this house
Galloway - Pegasus - Herod - Oajan

Galloway :

best fresh scent ever in terms of uniqueness and longevity , most or all fresh fragrances not that great in performance and projection , this one nooo ... Galloway easily 10 hours long lasting with strong projection & sillage for 5 hours

fresh scent with niche quality

opens very fresh with Citrus notes & Pepper then starts to calm down with orange Blossom & Iris ... the dry down is little sweet with Amber & musk

warning : stick to 2017 batches or older

blind - buy : yes yes yes

and Nooooooo it's not similar at all to Lalique White

Rob.weston

The scent is sophisticated, intriguing, playful, elegant, flirtatious, and charming. It's a “total” compliment magnet. Damn, it smells great! Wow! It's also entertaining, in a sense that, it takes you on an interesting journey, as it's nowhere near being linear. I kept bopping my head side-to-side to get whiffs all throughout the day. I did not get any compliments, which is something that I cannot expect each time I wear a fragrance. Some people usually notice that you smell great, but they simply don't care to let you know.

On sillage… It literally fills up a room. The fragrance triggers nice trails of scent bubbles. I usually have a female friend to test fragrances with, queuing me, by indicating when / if she could smell me after walking by few times, but she was not available today. I had a buddy of mine doing the job for few minutes.

Conclusion… This is a wonderful fragrance with superb performance, and I absolutely admire it. I plan to buy a backup bottle, so I have it for a lifetime. It's extrait de parfum concentration, and it's quite strong. You don't need more than four sprays. It also seems versatile, in terms of Seasons. During the Summer, two full sprays should be enough. Though, I recommend nighttime wear during Summer Season. I personally would avoid wearing it during the Summer altogether. This niche fragrance is a masterpiece.

dabearjew82

I live in Florida, so I need two or three staple freshies that aren't super common smelling and last longer then normal citrus scents. This is Galloway in a nutshell. I actually love it, it's now my number four freshie behind elysium pour homme parfum, jeroboam vespero, and tygar bvgari gem. Elysium is much more expensive so Galloway gets the nod for value. The projection is around 2 feet for me and projects for around 2 hours indoors and 1.5 outside, then goes closer to the skin indoors. The opening is amazing and the dry down is unique for a freshie. As I saw on another parfum and loved it so much. If you don't like the way this smells, fuck your nose hahaha. Try it on your skin before dismissing based on reviews on here. If there's a bad review look at their top list!

Ambroxer

Galloway is the third Parfums de Marley fragrance I’ve tested, and it’s my least favorite. I hate calling this The Godfather 3 of fragrances, but that’s the analogy I keep coming back to. It’s good, even very good, on its own yet pales in comparison to what was experienced previously.

This fragrance opens very clean, perhaps even sterile. It’s a lovely recipe of citrus and florals with a hint of pepper. I see the comparison with a deodorant and agree. Musk becomes more dominant in the dry down where hints of iris peek out. A spa or salon could do well smelling like this. Galloway is very welcoming, although it leans to the feminine side to my nose. While I do like it, I believe I’d like it more on my significant other than myself.

Where I will give Galloway extra points is in originality. My two previous Parfums de Marley experiences were top notch, luxury versions of a blue and date night scent respectively. Galloway charts its own path. As such, it’s a bit more deserving of the “niche” label beyond just having a significant retail price. It’s a very good scent, just one that will have less appeal across the fragrance spectrum. Great option if you’re looking to smell clean in a unique way, but I’d be surprised to learn that a multitude of people found something especially exciting here.

Talal1

A modern take on Green Irish Tweed, i see some people complaining about the price, its available around 100 quid on ebay, does not deserve less. 8/10.

blondescent

I really enjoy this scent on my husband, its fresh and seductive at the same time, and very much a masculine scent. The freshness comes from the citrus, and i guess the seduction comes from the musk and pepper. I don't know why but I find this addictive! I can't stop sniffing it! Super long-lasting too

michelle779

I’m not sure why Galloway is considered unisex. It is very strong and masculine. It smells like a men’s deodorant.

It’s not a bad scent but it’s not exactly unique either.

Tokyo Lights

While Parfums de Marly does have better offerings than this in terms of creativity, this observation only reflects negatively on Galloway in a comparative sense...it's still a great scent. It begins with a little citrus hit, but most other notes are immediately or very quickly discernible.
To my nose, you then get a beautiful musky/powdery/iris-y dry down. For men, this might suit middle-aged or older gents more than younger ones, although younger ones could certainly use this fragrance when dressed up, e.g. in a suit for work, or even smart-casual dress for important family events etc.
For women, this would work well with just one or two sprays: try to keep it low-key so that people around you get an occasional whiff of it, enough to wonder what it is, and hopefully be impressed, without it being too dominant. It would also work as something to wear for a date, or lightly and discreetly for a night at home with someone special.
Like many PdM fragrances, Galloway has absolutely tremendous longevity. I get a full business day out of it with 4-6 atomizations at 2-3 points on me. If you wear it to bed, you'll wake up smelling it the next morning...some of it will probably rub off onto the sheets and leave them with a gorgeous aroma the following night! I'm wearing it now as I write this, and it's still projecting moderately or better after around four-and-a-half hours, if admittedly a little less than it did at two or three hours. If I want to top it up, I'll only need one extra spray, two at the very most, and only after six or more hours.
Sillage is good: you'll be noticed but, provided you don't overdo it with the sprays (about six seems to be my limit in this regard), you won't choke those around you. But alas, I have choked those around me once or twice, so do be careful on the first few uses!
It's definitely a spring and summer one - I'd say spring more than summer, especially if you have very heavy or wet summers where you live. I occasionally put it on if I'm wearing a suit in winter, as a more formal, indoor scent, but I lock it away in fall - it doesn't create the right feeling or mood for a stereotypical fall day. Come to think of it, though, maybe at night during fall you could get away with it.
I probably wouldn't blind buy it, as impressions of it seem to vary a fair bit, but it's worth trying it if you can, or get hold of a sample or decant and try it out for a few days...chances are that you'll like it.

joseffgabriel

This is a better alternative to Creeds Aventus Cologne. They both possess a very high quality and distinguishable white musk that sets it apart from cheap ones. Aventus Cologne only has that juicy pineapple brightness while this one focuses on the beautiful white musk and iris at the opening. It lasts hours and hours on skin. I sprayed around 6pm then can still smell it on my skin after waking up at 11am, making this last longer on Aventus Cologne's 1-2hr longevity. They both drydown to that high quality white musk, I was thinking of buying Aventus Cologne but the longevity was a deal breaker. Thank goodness someone offered me to smell this first.

That's the order of my PDM purchases. Five straight from PDM that either wowed me (1-4) or grew on me (Percival).
Galloway is somewhat of a disappointment. While I don't hate it, I don't exactly love OR like it. Opens up fairly pleasant. Then, it settles to a light yet noticeable musk scent.
It's OK......ish.

Dudu Tasca

I love it. Yes, very similar to Lalique White, which I love as well, but it also reminds me of cool water. Maybe it's not worth all the money. But for being a citrus it is very powerful.
ps: I don't think there is amber, but I think there is ambroxan.

Muskrat27

This is an elegant, unpretentious, refreshing fragrance. I've gotten numerous compliments from men and women while wearing this, and it always seems to intrigue and delight. The musk underlays and enhances the citrus/pepper notes, and the drydown is mellow and refined. Perfect for warm climates.

casznava

This smells like my uncle back in 2000 when N Sync was a thing.

Extremely strong and trying way too hard. If a guy wore this around me he'd be that guy that tries too hard to be present but doesn't know how to talk to girls so he just tries extra hard with everything else he can. Reminds me of when guys would wear hella gel on their hair and a fragrance similar to this. This smells so strong.. it's so offensive.

PS im a girl.

ok bye.

rvt55

Not their best but with PM "not their best" never means bad. To me it does not perform as well as Layton or Kalan.

FreddyK

Is smells soft. JUST SOFT. Just try to imagine this scent. Imagine a pillow from heaven. That's the way it smells to my nose.

ben805

Galloway main notes are Orange and Powdery Iris that's it! A fresh comfort scent you can wear anytime at any season, a dumb-reach after a shower. Very linear with Good performance and longevity, didn't get nose-blind to this one.

Illium

Galloway is yet another simple, but elegant scent from Parfums de Marly. It seems that simplistic beauty is their moto at least for Galloway and Byerley.
While this seems to have a very floral heart, the fragrance comes across as very fresh with a dominant clean musk note. The iris and orange blossom or whatever else floral notes in this are very much in the background.
The soft and clean musk note takes over almost the entire life of the fragrance, and at some points it reminds me of fresh laundry. What’s even more impressive is Galloway projects and lasts, a very strong performer for a spring/summer fragrance. This one quickly becomes the top choice in my warm/hot weather arsenal.

Smells incredibly fresh/clean, musky, a tiny bit peppery, some citrus notes.

This gives me prada l'homme vibes, not in the scent, but in the identity and intended purpose. This is INCREDIBLY clean and office safe/crowd pleasing. 99.9% of people will like this, but what sets this apart from the other freshies with similar note breakdowns is the natural ingredients and performance, which combines to make this more of a sophisticated/luxury type of fragrance. I get about 10 hours with this one.

Ideal for work and when you want to be productive, it's legitimately so clean smelling that it's energizing.
