It's sweet and warm. Super cosy. Not very in-your-face, it sticks around for a few hours without projecting too much. I was a bit meh about it at first, but I slowly grew to love it.

The simplicity, woodiness and clash of coca-cola note with fresh, citrusy floral notes makes this perfume the least favorite among the other fragrances from this line such as Epices, Vetiver, and Cuir. The opening is mildly pleasant but the dry down becomes cloying with those opaque, plastic, woody notes.

The Clogged Nose

That pink pepper is really nice. There is a sharpness in this fragrance which is well balanced with a moderate sweetness.
I think it smells mature with a good balance between heavy and moderate notes. Well rounded.

You could wear this to the office or a restaurant. *Could* be worn by a woman but it leans quite to the masculine.

With all the new scents passing by I do not wear it often but I am very happy to have this in my collection.
It just inches its way from Like to Love.

Very good!

Sublime, soft, musky sandalwood that imparts a gentile spice found in epices and musc from this line. In fact this has the same degree of care, attention, and good breeding that those two have. Cedre was snapped up for a steal of a price along side them too and represents real value for money because the blends are great, comes highly recommended from me.
I never really got pencil shaving from any cedar material but I can see how blended with sandalwood how that effect is achieved and I would describe this a 'balsa wood' soft, smooth and supple, but with a agitated surface of fine, splintery, rough hairs on the surface. The sweet spice chimes in throughout giving a discreet edge to what is primary a laid back woody musk.
I love it, can't decide which is my favourite of the three I own??

On first application, I didn’t get enough to draw any conclusions. A few days later, the second application was a bit better.

Today is my third time wearing Cedre – and things are more obvious now, somehow. I think this is probably a ‘grower’, one of those perfumes that you learn how to smell. Anyway, I applied 3 or even 4 blasts to one arm only. From the initial application, the perfume travelled with me in a cloud, and the various smells all mingled to create a feeling of warmth. Yes, if I got closer to my skin, I could start to get the components – a pepperiness and perhaps citrus, maybe some kind of wood. Nothing truly distinctive – I was not certain of anything. There was decent projection, and I could smell my arm easily without having to bring it near to my face for several hours. I should emphasize that I am not saying this is strong or in your face – but with a bit of thought, I could tell I was wearing Cedre. After 6 plus hours, this has died down, and I have to nearly touch my arm to my nose – but even now, the scent is not weak – it’s happily emitting what’s left of itself into the space around.

I would not recognize the scent as cedar-based – at least, not yet. Maybe I need more practice. The scent is more abstract – yes, woodsy – and maybe there is lavender and the other notes listed too, but I struggle to tell things apart. I think I can smell actual cedar more prominently in Piver’s Epice.

An interesting scent that I am happy to have on, and engage with through the day. Probably very safe for social interactions.

I'm not great at detecting notes, but I'm surprised that there is no leather listed in this. To me this is mostly a soft powdery leather. It reminds me a bit of Kelly Caleche EDP without the floral notes.
I definitely agree that this is unisex, it's bordering being a non-perfume. I'm not quite sure whether I like it, but it certainly feels unique, versatile and like it would be great for layering.

A lucky friend of mine bought a bottle of this wonder for third price in a TK Maxx. Since we were shopping together, we tried it afterwards in a cafe, and it proved to be surprisingly good for its price. I had to order one quickly.
It has a very soft and harmonious odor. After a short period it turns quickly into a skin-scent (not projecting much), so it's safe wear it at work too.

It's not for men only, I can recommend it to any sexes.

Was just visiting Paris when I came across an antique fragrance shop. They sold mostly old bottles but they did have some modern ones. Of this small collection was the L.T Piver collection. I had seen antique bottles and read about the brand but had never been able to smell any in the UK. At first I tried Cuir de Russe and thought it was so impressive (not for me though) but maybe one day. I then tried the others and came across this. Instantly I knew it was the one. The slight peppery note jazzed up by the lime is a sprinkle on the soft musky wood notes which form a soft creamy ever so slightly floral masterpiece. The wood note is not too 'woody' as has been mentioned already. It really is perfect. I have found my signature scent! What a discovery!

Very high quality fragrance from this underrated house.

Cedar can so easily venture into hamster-cage territory, but this goes nowhere near. It's subtle. A hint of pencil shavings, yes - but that evokes such happy memories for me, sharpening pencils as a little girl and enjoying both the scent and the satisfying long curl, like a ringlet, that grew from my efforts.

This is certainly unisex. I'm a woman who is quite nervous of male fragrances but Yohji persuaded me to step out of my comfort zone and I'm so glad I did! If anything I would willingly accept this as a female perfume (not that there is really any such thing of course).

Cedre stayed quite close to my skin but it was persistent - I could still smell it 12 hours later.

I have tried three L.T. Pivers now - this one, Cuir de Russie and Heliotrope Blanc - and I am mightily impressed with all of them.

The perfect balance between sweet & spicy...

So there is something about L.T. Piver Cèdre that I like very much, and that is the combination between Sandalwood, Iris and Pink Pepper. I've realised that some of my favourite fragrances contain either Iris or Pink Pepper. I would say that the Cedar-wood here is not a "dry" or "woody" type of wood, because it is surrounded by so many other notes in combination... making it "sweet" and very welcoming.

It's smell is quite impressive... a contender for sure, and I am slowly starting to admire the Piver house more and more! Again many thanks to dear member Yohji who has been quite generous and has allowed me to explore this company and discover new favourites and "hidden" gems! A very underrated house in general!

I agree that it is unbelievably beautiful unisex!!! fragrance, with high quality ingredients and amazing formula which will fit to any clothes, mood and situation be you man or woman
Its classy, seductive, warm, velvety by structure, (or suedy?!) wise, relaxing.
To me its like from 5 different other fragrances someone took the very best, united in one and got Cedre.
It has sensuality of the Dragon(Cartier) - quite a magic how from such simple notes you can possible create THIS.
I Am in love with it from December, tried in all weather types- just great and long lasting.
Why on earth you, guys, are passing by incredible Piver's fragrances?..

Unbelievable that this scent by Piver hasn't more reviews! It took me quite by surprise because I expected a classic cedar, but got something very contemporary. The scent is woody to start with, but shows after a few minutes already some lighter, more floral tones. Together they form a surprisingly light, yet very masculine woody flavor. It is like a modern interpretation of a classic institution, and one that I found was very long lasting. 10 to 12 hours later the scent was still there. Taken it's performance in consideration in regard to it's price make this scent a masterpiece.

da_markos

Another good job by Piver house. This one is most soft and calm from trio "epices", "vetiver" and "cedre". Like other two scents it's untoxic and so easy to wear.
Longevity could be better but fortunately it isn't expensive for such an old and traditional perfume house.
