A hidden gem, so much more than a freshie. I tried this once, loved the opening and bought a full bottle planning to share it with my man. Turned out the drydown was too masculine for me, but on him this is a stunning masterpiece. It actually creates a gorgeous scent bubble around him, with a sillage I want to enjoy forever. Forgot that it was a limited edition, and now I wish this would come back

Masculine freshie. Decent, zesty, tangy yet woody. Perfect for daily driver. Not really that beast in performance, but it ticks most requirement as summer fragrances in tropical heat except for longevity.

Yuja cologne is much more complex than I expected. I was actually expecting a simple constellation of tart citrus over evergreen and was actually worried that I overpayed on the 30ml I picked up, but it turns out it is surprisingly complex.

So yuzu is indeed present in the opening, very tart and bright, possibly the only yuzu that rivals neroli and bergamot in ethereal bright tartness, essentially the olfactory equivalent to the lightest hue of yellow imaginable. However Yuzu is highly volatile, disappears in about 2 mins.

However the creator of the fragrance came up with an ingenious trick of prolonging that instant freshness with minty green tones. Indeed if you smell Yuja about 10mins in you may pickup a minty fresh but also soft spicy accord that prolongs that opening blast and gives the illusion of bright freshness. What I don't get is typical green notes more so fresh effervescent notes.
There is also a very interesting sweetness to the formula, almost slightly marmalade like, not very pronounced but clearly there. Slowly it dries down to a clean soapy woody base lasting a total of about 4 hours on me.

Very impressive overall, by far my favorite Jo Malone and the only one I decided on keeping, definitely worth the price based on overall quality.

Rafrosa

This is a simple fragrance- sparkling resinous woods with a juicy, bright yet slightly tart bergamot. My favorite masculine bergamot/lemon scent. 4-6 hrs longevity. It’s a love for me!

Eveningrose

Omg this scent is sooooo fresh! Upon first spray I knew I had to have it . It just screams summer and is great for hot weather ! Basically a very linear citrus fragrance . It can be unisex for sure . If you like citrus/woody scents ..this is a banger🍋 it is also very inoffensive scent that u can overspray as it is light. On skin, it doesn’t last that long but on cloths, it will last the whole day or until u wash it! Keeper!

jo malone's yuja cologne does not last nor does it project but it is really nice. i live in coastal tropics and citrus fragrances are my favorite due to its burst of freshness. opeing is strong, sweet-sour yuzu herby notes. it does not smell like yuzu the fruit but like yuzu syrup, the korean honey yuja tea with candied peel. the citrus opening does not last long, like 10-30 minutes before the greens and woodsy note came through, this leans more masculine. on me it lasts around 4 hours-ish and it dissipates into nothing after that. i dont mind re-spraying this every 3 hours or so if i'm out and about because it's so nice and refreshing! (though i would rather not since this is a limited edition and i dont want to run out of this)

Fatter

Not like Cartier’s Declaration. This features a strong citrus note that remains throughout, and is not spicy. Declaration focuses on green cardamom with noticeable caraway. Both are fresh but nothing alike.

In the past I wasn’t a big fan of Jo Malone fragrances. Nothing wrong with them…I found them clean and pretty, and mostly simple and uncomplicated, but not what I wanted to buy at their typical price point. I had sampled Yuja in a store, and yesterday bought a 1 oz bottle for a good price at the Company Cosmetics Store (Estee Lauder Companies’ Outlet). I do love this scent. It fits in the family of citrusy florals I have come to re-appreciate and wear a lot, including TF Neroli Portofino, Santa Maria Novella’s Acqua della Regina and now this one. It’s longevity isn’t great (using my own wrist sniff…not sure how it lingers to others). As with all citrus fragrances, I find them uplifting. It’s subtle…it won’t broadcast your entrance or linger when you leave…but it is pretty and respectful of others in that way. 😇

Better than the reviews give credit for. This is an extremely unique scent, it’s not just a mundane citrus fragrance like some reviews state; and I’m upset this was limited edition, I bought two 100mL bottles after I got a mini from Sephora. This is a very “me” fragrance and I always stuck to sweet smells up until I found this. It starts off a little bit citrus but also a little bit musky with some sweetness; once it settles it gets a little more woodsy is the best way I can describe it; this reminds me of going on hikes in Algonquin Park and smelling the water, fresh air, pine and cedar trees but with some citrus. As an Indigenous woman this is a very beautiful outdoorsy scent that I feel really suits me; I haven’t been able to find a scent like this one which is why I shelled out the money to get two big bottles; and I will probably buy more if I find them for a descent price just so I never have to go without it. If I were to give any criticism it’s that it isn’t very strong - which isn’t even a bad thing, it’s perfect for at work because I don’t have to worry about overdoing it, but at the same time I can still smell it on my clothes all day 11/10 for this, I hope they decide to bring it back

janevee

Starts as a juicy, pulpy citrus with a bit of bitter citrus peel, like freshly squeezed orange juice. Then it dries down into a musky aftershave. Somewhere in between it reminds me of a man who sprays cologne to cover up his smoking habit, and that's the end of this scent for me. I did like the opening, but it is a strong "no."

shikibu

Very boring citrus fregrance.
This is different from yuzu scent. If you compare natural yuzu essential oil, you notice the difference.
Yuzu smells more impressive and unique.
May be sales company want to say"this is yuzu-like cologne, so different from real yuzu scent!"

Anyway this is so tipical mundane citrus fregrance.

Em1984

I felt it has more male scent than female. Not my scent, but maybe if it's mixed with other Jo Malone parfymes then it would be good.
I sprayed ones and it hold very hours.

Edgar__K.

It has a weak longevity, but it's also a eau de cologne. On the other side, the Yuja scent is so fresh, its a mood booster. Keep a smaller bottle in your bag and spray throughout the day. I also layered this with Jo Malone's Lime, Mandarin, Basil.

chipon

Very pleasant scent. There's no way you'd hate it. However, longevity is quite tricky. It stays very long on clothes, could smell it even after 2 days. But then it was much much less on my skin.

ScentLover561

Bitter, cool bracing citrus. Not great longevity for me. I like it but Atelier Cologne does it better with Bergamote Soleil (more depth & complexity with greater longevity).

OTA Mom

I received this fragrance as a deluxe sample bonus with purchase and was pleasantly surprised. Sweet citrus tempered with a tinge of aromatic and grounded with the lightest touch of woods. It is a 'different' citrus, lemon-like but an enjoyable variation. The longevity was a surprise as well. I put it on last evening and still noticeable and pleasing this morning.

just_me_meng

I received it as a gift with purchase on sephora, and honestly I had higher hopes for it. The perfume opens with a strong citrusy and woody scent, leaning towards masculine, but then after a while settles down to a nice and not-too-sweet yuzu (yuja) scent, which like the previous reviews said, resembles yuzu tea/candy. In my opinion there are JML perfumes with better performance on sillage and longevity, since I have to stick my nose against my clothes and skin to really smell it, but it's probably because I'm used to the scent. It's kinda hard to find someone to tell if the sillage and longevity is actually that weak during this quarantine thing, oh well...Overall, YUJA is a nice addition to JML, unisex, fresh and energetic. P.S. I tried to mix it with BLACKBERRY & BAY, and it smells amazing!

Edit: it lasted all night on my clothes, so I guess that speaks out for longevity. Sillage is still very soft.

joliefille

citrusy, sweet, little minty, spa-like, refreshing fragrance. good for summer or for vacation. i haven't tried it long enough to comment on longevity or sillage. JO Malone's fragrances don't last very long on me and turn sour as the day progresses so i'll have to come and update my review on this one.

doowee.teja

I had this yuzu candy from a local japanese store where i live, it tastes just like this.
Not too sweet yet not sour; its fresh yet not lemon nor orange. Its little bitter but very addictive.
So aromatic, but its not sickening to smell it too long.

Emorandeira

I usually like the quality and the smell of most jo Malone fragances, but usually they didnt work very Well on my skin. Only myrrh & tonka, Jasmine sambac & marigold, tuberose angelique and bronze wood & leather could stay on me for hours, but the rest are all gone during the first 1-2 hours.
But this new release by jo Malone has surprised me with his good performance. And It is, even more surprisely, a citric scent, perfect for spring and summer day time. I could try It and after having done that i could feel myself rounded by andelicious lemon (un this case yuzu) Candy, because yuja (yuzu un korean) is citrusy but at the same time sweet and Magic.
Jo Malone London introduce this perfume like a perfume for the urban Life in seoul, with an advertisement protagonized only for a man. This is the first time that i see a JM London perfume which is orientared for men through their advertisement (because the reality is that most of their perfumes are unisex or even more masculine like oud&bergamot ir amber&lavender).
I am sure that this would be a Next purchase for my collection because It is one ofnthe BEST citrus scents that i have tried. LOVE
The perfume is really unisex, better for day time but intense enough to resist one Patty night. Do you like aventus? So you Will probably like yuja...

I have this. In Korea there's this Marmalade used for Tea called Yuja Cheong. This must be inspired by it. The fragrance starts off aggressively bitter and fresh but quickly within a few seconds it turns into Yuzu Marmalade musk. It's divine! Definitely reminds me of South Korea.
