Verveine Cedrat by Jeanne en Provence is a Citrus Aromatic fragrance for women. Verveine Cedrat was launched in 2015. Top notes are Sicilian Lemon, Citron and elemi; middle notes are Verbena, Grapefruit, Bitter Orange, Mandarin Orange and Blood Orange; base note is Musk.

Jeanne en Provence launches the new collection which is perfect for summer part of the year and created in honor of the Mediterranean summer harvests. Verbena and lemon are two ingredients collected during summer. They contain citrusy aromas and grown in south of France due to their sensitivity of cold.

Verbena Citron Eau de Parfum takes us to the heart of summer heat when we search for refreshment that would invigorate us and uplift our energy. This is a very refreshing fragrance for women and contains typical Mediterranean charm. Tartness and luminosity of lemon is blended with lemonish-green and invigorating notes and fresh green verbena leaves which are blended to satisfy our senses. Besides EDP, the collection provides Verveine Agrumes hand gel which refreshes and moistures the skin. Verveine Agrumes Cream Gel contains light textures thanks to verbena officinalis extract, while additional moisture is ensured by glycerin which does not leave oily trail on the skin. Hands will be gently perfumed and soft with powdery finish.

Jeanne En Provence Verbena Citron Eau de Parfum will be available in flacons of 60 and 125ml, while Moisturizing Hand Cream Gel Verbena Citrus will be available as 75ml.

Bright, uplifting and refreshing. It does not last of course, but it is great for just a quick refresh on a hot day or after shower. Super affordable too.

boozya

On my skin Verveine Cedrat is very close to Atelier Cologne's Cedrat Enivrant, the same fresh effervescent aromatic citrus profile. For the price it's a steal.

asimpleperfumelover

A sweet lemonade scent, pretty refreshing for hotter days, and my favorite out of the line. I don't think anyone could hate this really, not unless you hate lemon or citrus notes in general.

Arber Cami

Refreshing, summertime scent, definitely unisex. Opening is very bright, crisp, rindy citruses with a bunch of green verbena. This is what you get from opening to dry down. Some musk is noticeable in the dry down. Longevity and projection are weak, I get max 4hours, but you can't complain for the sub 20euro price.

FloidnScotch

Stunning verbena! Uplifting, refreshing, unisex as long as you like bright. I can't get enough of the opening. A touch of the lightest white musk keep it from being very fleeting (2-3h).

Perfect for warm days or when you want something uplifting. I love smelling this on my wife as much as wearing it myself.

Ok, so it starts with smelling like lemon candies, but not those natural powdery sweet light smelling ones. It smells like candies that have too much of that artificial lemon extract, so it doesn't smell sweet, nor natural. After a while it still is the same kind of scent (not sweet but artificial) but it's not as in your face and smells a little more herbal. I find Acqua Colonia 4711 Lemon & Ginger smelling much more natural and pleasant for a lemon scent, though it has a tad of ginger (which I actually love).

ANNAFRYS

Great for the beggining of June...

vanillaorchid

This year I've really started enjoying citric perfumes. I like them especially when there's sweetness to them, highlighting the gourmand qualities of these fruits, while making them farther from the typical associations to cleaning products, bug repellents and so on.
This really smells like lemon verbena, little bit sweet and with some depth to it. Amazing value for the price. A truly unisex scent, both me and my partner wear it especially during these hot summer Mediterranean days above 35°C 🔥

ava96

Really nice scent, very lemony. In summer it would be refreshing. Longevity is next to nothing though, maybe 1 hour or a bit more.
It reminds me of the Bulgarian dessert called kozunak a bit, because the lemon in this smells exactly like how a kozunak smells when you take it out of the oven. This is not to say this perfume is sweet, it's quite strongly a citrus scent.

cristinap9587

Very unique lemony scent, stunning for the price, a nice refreshing perfume to spray on a hot summer day. If you've ever tasted the german candy "Nimm 2" (or any other lemon drops), this perfume is the lemon version in a bottle. Juicy, zesty sweet lemon (maybe a bit too sweet for summer when it's really hot), with a very green middle which is probably the verbena. It does not really have a base or strong dry-down, the notes only list musk so the persistence is not great. However you can get it for practically nothing, plus the bottle is really cute.

LaContessina

What a stunning little piece!
If you are into fresh, sharp citrus scents, this is for you.
It's a verbena (smells like lemonbalm or lemongrass) mixed with cedar peel, you get a strong, zesty blast upon spraying that is immediately awaking.
Great in the mornings or for a midday pick-me-up!
Absolutely summery and refreshing, can be bought for a song (got mine for less than 10 euros).
Longevity is poor as with all these summer fresh colognes (although this us supposed to be edp), but it costs next to nothing so that not a real issue.
Exact dupe for Verbena by L'Occitane, 5 times cheaper.
Go get it.

Lemon zest!!! If you are in love with the smell of lemons then you will be in love with this one as well! Its incredibly natural on my skin. If i smelled this and a real lemon I wouldn't be able to differenciate. But its gone in less than 30min, no trace of it left

arissvs

Well, there are two good things about this scent! The price and the smell (juicy peeled lemons). But there is a thin , very thin line between this smell and a room air freshner....i think it comes from the musk! Definetly unisex, very poor longevity, max 1 h, more on the clothes! Good for my collection, i do not think i'm gonna wear it a lot!

Lotte_Liese

So citrusy it could sting, but I like it. The longevity is poor on skin, 30 mins max, better on clothing- 2 hrs max. You have the freshest sicilian lemon and verbena combination to sink your teeth into. I get lots of lemongrass in the drydown but it's not a listed note, hmm. Straight out of the shower, spritz it on your skin and the summer heat won't bother you a thing.

Tiger84

From the house I bought Acqua and this, two years ago, and both are excellent. What I love about this is how creamy the citruses are. It's a simple fragrance, but it has its place in my summer collection. This zesty, creamy lemon with the verbena is a graceful composition. Nothing sharp or screechy. I love the old-fashioned aspect of this. The bottle is also beautiful.

lemuaa

At first, smells like strong lemony-something which smells very happy and refreshing, then a bug repellent I had last summer. Hope this works for that this summer. And at last, a tad drier and sweeter drydown, is it the musk with the quiet citrus notes? You have to wait for a while as it settles down to a wearable perfume state. Still it is a lemony scent, no flowers, warmth or Escada vibes. And I don't own any Escadas, at least the last eight years or so. This Verveine Cedrat reminds me of some expensive greenish perfume but cannot remember what it was.

Few days and sprays later:
I think I'm warming up for this, as they say, now smelling that "expensive perfume" beside the bug spray. I don't know does people around me smell me expensive, haven't asked😆
I think it's the cedrat that bothers the most as I'm a sucker for all citrusy notes no matter the actual fruit or just scents in the air, someone peeling a mandarine or orange or lemon, ahhhh!
My technique with this is to spray it on my back and below neck so I don't get the sharpy bugvibe but just let it reach the bottom note and settle down.
For the price, about 9€, not regretting.

Versace Versence! That's the one reminding me when I spray this!

DustyMemphis

@Astrid89, as with everyone else, the problem with longevity, is because you spray it on skin, instead of on clothes!

Astrid89

In a first few seconds you can feel aggressive lemon zest with a good sillage. After that it begines to be more intimate pure lemon zest. Unfortunately, longevity is really bad 😔
It's great for summer if you like 🍋. But keep in mind that you will need to reapply it every 20-40min if you don't want that the smell disappears.

*loves_shoes*

A really bright, fresh, zesty, lemon sherbert smell.
Like lemon flavoured boiled sweets rather than a fresh lemon.
It’s sweet and very lemony, maybe a hint of verbena, and not much base really.
I’ll definitely try layering with some coconut and vanilla based scents.

diatosin

I'm loving this at the time and layering it with Sensuous Nude makes it smell how a lime and coconut ice cream tastes. Extremely refreshing and citric, quite long lasting - it clings to hair and clothes until the evening. Another love from Jeanne en Provence.

Premudraja

I have had a bottle of this since last year and honestly thought after several unsuccessful attempts that Verveine Cedrat does not do much for me either spring, winter or summer. I have purchased it only out of sheer curiosity because I like citrusy and musky notes. And this guy was millimetres away from being chucked into my "eBay" carton for reselling.

The opening citrus is very sharp, staying power is about 4h, which is quite decent, after that it has slightly tarte close to skin scent.
I was all "meh" about it, but here comes a twist! :D
It may smell like cleaning product on its own, but when layered with Lady Gaga Eau de Gaga, you find yourself in summer olfactory dream!

As I sprayed one spray of Eau de Gaga over the Verveine Cedrat it just completely changed everything! It became bright, slightly creamy, complex, on a verge of being risky even. Very unisex, no doubt about that; very refreshing in sweltering +30. Citrus is still there, musk is still there, just amplified enormously by sharpness of violet and sultriness of leather.

So, just to sum this up, I'm currently after a second bottle of Verveine Cedrat! Could not have imagined that I will change my mind so completely about this!

It's absolutely a pity that so many domestic cleaning products contain a strong aroma of citruses, especially citron and lemon, that it may be hard for some people not to connect extremely citrusy, simple fragrances to these products. I have to state first that this fragrance is good. Very good. Refreshing, soothing, vibrating, you could say youth and sunshine in a bottle and actually, in a very stylish little bottle, too. Sillage and longevity is unexpectedly good for a fragrance belonging to the Jeanne Arthes company that is known for their very beautiful cheapies with rather weak lasting power. Indeed, the only reason I can't wear it on its own that it reminds everyone around me on some cleansing product. BUT I still keep it and use it for layering with heavier perfumes that have citrusy topnotes to amp those up and create a more summery version out of them and I can highly recommend anyone to try this out.

lyrily

Sherbet lemons in a bottle on first spray ! I love the top notes. I would say moderate longevity, since it's been 4 hours now and I still smell it, but only when I press my nose up to it. There is basically low projection or sillage after first 15 mins but it's cheap and it definitely smells great and refreshing .

Amethystery

First spritz smells EXACTLY like sticking your nose into a freshly sliced lemon!! After 15 minutes or so it transforms into more of a lemongrass vibe; mouthwatering, zesty & herbal. Definitely unisex and perfect for a hot summer day. Feels more like an eau de cologne than anything else though, does not last very long!

This does it's very best if layered IMO, I layered it yesterday with a sharp floral and a creamy vanilla (both which I usually don't like on their own); it was a great decision!

parfum arthur

Lemon lollies, lemon drops, lemon sherbet, lemonade.

Simply lemon and verbena with a teeny bit of musk in the drydown (may I add sugar?) Ignore all the other notes. Quality is amazing and lasts all day, days even when sprayed on clothing. No headache inducing alcohol opening, first spritz dives right into lemon verbena.

citrusandsunshine

Clean but not soapy, just a lovely refreshing lemon scent with a hint of verbena and green notes, great for a pick me up in the summer but I love it all year round
I like to layer it with a bit of vanilla sometimes to add some sweetness and depth in an evening and in the winter

Cherry_Darling

Fragrantica added all these fancy notes, I don't know. Citruses all within the realm but elemi and musk definitely a no here. To me it's lemon and verbena all the way like in the original page, definitely perfect for this heat, not overwhelming, totally refreshing.

blumeras

This is exactly what you need when the heat is unbearable, it`s like diving into a lemon and verbana ocean, REFRESHING.

fionatibbotts

Got this today - gorgeous! Smells just like Lemon Sherbet sweets! Fresh, citron with a hint of herby green - just absolutely perfect for hot summer days. I love the old fashioned bottle and the pretty yellow lemon decorated packaging it came in. Only cost me £12 including postage, so I am one happy bunny! I shall be exploring other fragrances from Jeanne en Provence as I'm so impressed with this one.

Mystères du Château de Dé

Happy, simple fragrance. Sunshine to spray any time of day or night. Clears paths in space and mind.

lemonadi

Smells exactly like Limoncello! Very beautiful, super natural. Totally unisex.

Truly, the quality of this is out of this world. One of the few fragrances that actually transports me to summer. They could sell this for at least 5x the price and nobody would question it.

Awesome. 9/10

teoteddy1

Bought this one in a gift box with a hand cream and a soap for 7 bucks. Incredible value for money. Very naturally smelling. lemon and verbena. I am a man, and love this juice on my skin.
Kinda makes you think, if a high quality juice can be sold for 7 bucks, what is the reason behind selling similar fragrances, only way more hyped, for 10 times as much? Rip-off much?

le00000000000

It smells like a lemon garden in the summer and I love it! Very fresh, makes you feel like basking in lemonade. I noticed this has a bit smell of soda? Like zesty citrus soda.
And this is cheap yet the bottle is cute so you can aesthetically put on your drawer proudly.

Ps. I just lay my hand on Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Nil and my goodness the opening note is the same! I tried to spray HUJSLN on my left sleeve and VCJA on my right sleeve, the first hour I cannot differentiate them. The dry down of course very different but if you like something like HUJSL but in bargain price, you can try this.

mayora11

I can't get enough of this perfume, I can smell it on me all day long. I got a friend who is hugging me all the time just to smell my beautiful Verveine.

almondbreakfast

A thirst quencher.

This cures fatigue, dullness, sadness, emotional instability, and constipation.

The highly effective citric acids of lemon and verbena repair and reconstruct bad cells. New cells are regenerated, skin is refreshed, stools are smoothened, the mood is boosted.

It doesn't stay long so that means you got to keep quenching the thirst until you're not thirsty.

Being thirsty has never, ever felt so good...

Thank you, Jenny!

nektarinka

Lemon/citrus and aromatic verbena, pure clean citrusy freshness, refreshing during the summer, similar to Eau de Rochas, not as dry, just perfectly balanced to keep you cool and fresh. Does not last long, max about an hour, but affordable enough so you can spray away as and when needed.

Cherry_Darling

This is THE perfect buy for citrus lovers. Super zingy, green and a bit aromatic but in a very natural way that blends with lemon, and of course citrus doesn't last but it doesn't in expensive perfumes either. I recently reviewed one that was not even this level of citrus and cost 15 x this (Still Life Olfactive Studio). This was 6£ / 60 ml in tkmaxx. PERFECT citrus value.

Dries down to a sweet lemon drop smell.
