Classique Intense by Jean Paul Gaultier is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. Classique Intense was launched in 2014. The nose behind this fragrance is Francis Kurkdjian. Top notes are Tiare Flower and Pomegranate; middle notes are Orange Blossom, Jasmine and Rose; base notes are Vanilla and Patchouli.

In the summer of 2014 Jean Paul Gaultier is launching a new version of his signature and ultra-popular perfume Classique from 1993.

Francis Kurkdjian is the one "renovating" this perfume, not wanting it to lose its identity and powdery-floral character, but rather wanting to give it a new "twist" and modern interpretation. Classique Intense thus consists of two separate units: 40% of the fragrance is the original creation, and 60% are new, added components.

The new composition is described as a vivacious, intensive, oriental and solar, containing notes of tiare, pomegranate and gourmand accords at the top, with the heart of orange blossom, rose and jasmine and the base of patchouli and vanilla.

It is available in bottles of 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

I'm so sad this has been discontinued. This was my favorite perfume and I was gonna have this as my wedding scent : ((( .

I wish I had kept all the empty bottles of Classique. It was my signature for many years since it was released. I have worn at least 15 bottles. I have had many flankers of it during the years but this Classique Intense I love the most. It’s not so similar with the og which the name makes you think. It’s made of two separate units: 40% of the fragrance is the original creation, and 60% are new, added components. However, the original is not totally same formula anymore (I was lucky to find great vintage ones) which it used to be so I don’t know about these figures. For me this is completely the different scent with some of the same notes in it.

Classique Intense is very mellow and seductive, it’s classy and solar. It radiates the warmth and light around you. White florals are mostly hidden under the thick honeyed golden base of Vanilla and Patchouli. The base is surprisingly different from what you might think of the notes. This is sweet but not sugary and Vanilla is not obvious edible either. I don’t think this at all as a gourmand despite of creamy and fruity Tiare Flower and Pomegranate in the opening. The scent feels somewhat oriental take on white florals and all the notes are blended perfectly together. Like the og this may cause headache because of its intoxicating intensity.

Edit: If you love Classique Intense and don't want to pay crazy ebay prices, you should try Elie Saab Le Parfum (it's edp). It's made by Francis Kurkdjian as well (2011) and it's smelling quite similar intensive white florals with solar feeling and honey like sweetness. Flowers are a bit more heady first and there is not Vanilla so JPG feels somewhat more balanced in the beginning. JPG maintains an intense slightly more complex aroma while Le Parfum turns into more subtle and delicate one. It unfolds into an incredibly well balanced scent which feels fluffy and velvety soft. They are not like identical twins but siblings with a lot of same dna. There is not so much differences in the dry down. Elie Saab Le Parfum you can still find and in a very good price and look at that bottle! It’s so cute! My bottle is from 2016 and I haven't tried the most new formulas but since there is not that kind of IFRA regulated ingredients I assume that it hasn't changed so much.

Aeternitas

I have the original Classique and Classique Essence de Parfum.
I just got this one because I love the Classique line so much (and this bottle is the prettiest of the flankers, imo!)
As I'm wearing it, I can agree with other reviewers on these two points: 1.) If you have Essence de Parfum, you probably don't need this one ( both are discontinued anyway, soo... ). 2.) Yes, it is TM Alien-esque.

Intense does resemble the original Classique, but toned down in order to let the orange blossom speak. Intense is also much sweeter than the og, which caters to modern demands for sweet perfumes.
I honestly can't smell the pomegranate, but that's okay because I'm a huge orange blossom fan, and the orange blossom is definitely dominating this perfume.
The tiare and jasmine are definitely there, too, but they aren't center-stage.

Between my three Classique bottles, I must admit this one is not my favorite. But I'll be keeping it! It still smells great and I love the bottle.

an orange blossom - jasmine bomb 💣 with some vanilla and patchouli added
The rose is good noticable as well
Nice and soooo typical Kurdijan..but: very similar to fragrances which I already own - Essence de Parfum And Elie Saab

Classique Intense was long forgotten in my perfume cabinet because when I first spray it, it reminds me of Elie Saab In White and Marly Safanad, two perfumes that always induce headache and nausea for me. recently I decided to give it another chance and I was suprised to see how much I like it!
I still don't like the opening. it's powdery but not in a good way and I get why it reminds some people of bug sprayer. but after a few minutes, it settles down to something beautiful. vanilla, orange flower and jasmine. these are among my most beloved perfume notes and Classique Intense is all about vanilla, orange flower and jasmine.I can't pickup fruity notes, not much patchouli either. after the first couple of minutes, the jasmine gets pretty strong on me and it's such a gorgeous jasmine. it reminds me the jasmine in Alien Essence Absolute(another favorite of mine) but in a brighter, more fresh background. I love sweet, creamy vanilla florals,I have a lot of perfumes in this genre and Classique Intense is one the nicer vanilla florals I have and it was deep buried in a dark shelf for years. shame on my impatient nose who judged it for it's opening. it's a great choice for autumn and cool spring nights(cool but not too cold weather)
whenever I wear this, I feel it stays close to my skin and the sillage is soft to moderate but tonight my husband commented on my perfume as soon as he entered the room.I was at least three meters away and I had sprayed just twice half an hour before he came. so the projection must be more than my nose can recognize.
Edit:
Classique Intense is very very similar to Ted Lapidus white Soul Gold(the golden bottle). they're almost dupes. I tested them side by side today and they're so close, it's not easy to say which is which but if you pay enough attention, you can see the floral notes are stronger in TL White Soul Gold while the vanilla is stronger in JPG Classique Intense. White Soul Gold is creamier and doesn't have the powdery bug spray thing Classique Intense has.

The fruitchouli of the Classique range.
Terrible.
The Gaultier fragrance range sort of went downhill here on out.

Fleurdecoco

Almost unbearable orange blossom, sour milk and pretend play dough made of wet flour. I don't know why but that's what it smells like to me. Its not horrible, but I personally feel like something is wrong, it just hits me the wrong way. Sad :(

Agnes81

Really lovely warm white florals - the orange blossom is dominating on my skin. It is honeyed but not too sirupy sweet.

Silverquick

I bought this as a partial and hadn’t read enough of the reviews due the pressure on an online auction :D I had already bought a partial of Elie Saab Le Parfum Royal the month before (both FK frags). Sigh…I like neither. Both don’t give me any rose and have this overpowering orange blossom (I think that’s the note) that is spiky, discordant and burns the nose. My skin chemistry just doesn’t agree with either formulation and my nose doesn’t appreciate it either. LCI lasts longer and has a very strong sticky sweetness almost like honey. No patchouli that I can discern. More of a pepper-like buzz (could be the bug spray note I’ve seen in other reviews). And as per usual my skin is stingy with any vanillic notes. Fruits, honey, leather are amplified by my skin…vanilla seems to be hoarded and hidden. Rose notes are overwhelmed here by the bug spray. If you aren’t a fan of Elie Saab, avoid…if your skin has the kind of behaviour mine has, I’d suggest you avoid as well. Unsure if I will keep and try again in cooler temps, or, just keep for the bottle. I’ll stick with the OG.

I was looking for some Fall fragrance and decided to try this one on my way out of the drugstore. I felt it smelled .. expensive. And nice. And warm and wellcoming in a way too. I went back a few days later, sprayed some on my skin again and went back an hour later to buy the last box that was a bit dented, but I'm gonna only keep the bottle once I use it up anyway:)
So ... I find that despite it being an EDP, it's not too aggressive, I see myself wearing this to work if I don't overspray ofcourse.

ErinlyT

I really enjoy this one. It reminds me a lot of the Brazilian Bum Bum cream scent. Like, a lot a lot. So if you like the Brazilian Bum Bum cream, JPG Classique Intense might be worth checking out.

fyetan

Not sure what's going on but this smells exactly like Rihanna Reb'l Fleur to me. A plummy floral chypre with coconut. So, get that one. It's way cheaper!

The gold bottle is super cool though.

Mennaa

Tested this today and it smells exactly like Alien. My mom wears Alien all the time for years, literally her signature scent. I wouldn’t be wearing this. If you have Alien, save your money or maybe get it for the bottle lol

Petrichor31

I've owned this fragrance for approximately 1 1/2 yrs and rarely used it. I find it too heavy and sweet on warm days and prefer lighter, fresher fragrances in spring and summer. It's cool and damp today (2 Celsius). I wore it for my daily walk and it was wonderfully uplifting and cheerful! Who couldn't use a mood lifter during this pandemic fall/winter? I think I found a reason to keep this in my collection.
Edit: Downsizing & sold this one to a JPG Classique collector :)

Swedelish

One of my favorite perfumes ever. It's multidimensional, unique and easy to wear at the same time. It puts me in a good mood when I smell it and I find it can be pulled off in nearly every setting. Very pretty, classy fragrance that isn't too sweet. It pulls a tiny bit fresh in the mid, which levels everything out. It's hard to pick apart the notes because it is so well blended, but I do get a warm skin, tropical sort of feeling. That plus a nice smelling, fruity shampoo perhaps. And vanilla. Gorgeous, gorgeous.

Edit: I like sweet fragrances with depth and freshness to balance things out. Classique Intense's sweetness never felt bothersome until recently. I've loved this fragrance for years and felt the same way consistently through my first bottle. Lately, with my more recent bottle ( older formula) I'm getting a lot of caramel sweetness, whereas before it was more vanillic, and less of the tropical, fresh fruity shampoo vibe, which I always thought balanced it so well. The problem could be that my current bottle is older, from the BPI owned JPG days. My previous bottle was a newer, PUIG owned one and so it might be a matter of age and degradation of some notes. Or olfactive fatigue. Whatever the case, my current bottle doesn't quite hit all the notes so to speak. It even borders sickly in the way Flowerbomb edp can, or La Vie Est Belle. What I enjoyed so much about the florals in the heart, as well as the distinctly juicy tart opening, is now covered in a caramel-like layer that weighs it down and never seemed so apparent before. Still a great scent that's unique and others will probably enjoy around you, but I can't say it's a favorite right now.

Cheirosa98

First of all, if you like the original classique dont blind buy this one because it has nothing to do with the original classique to my nose, plus this perfume is not even close to “intense“. Dont get fooled that you found your perfect summer scent with the tiare flower note and how intense it would be. i have both of elie saab and classique intense; i find in white creamier, And more on the powdery side.

Now on a 25° weather, i wore the classique intense and the first thing i smelt was something weird, it wasn’t a love on the first smell, i was curious to know what does this smell remind me of? And it hit me; the opening of this perfume reminds me of roberto cavalli the original edp. That same Orange blossom note, the one that reminds with Raid spray yes i mean the insect killer and thats the only thing i smell, not pomegrante not tiare flower just raid spray.

5 hours update:
Who sprayed la vie est belle - lancome on me? I dont even have a bottle of it..
The dry down is identical to la vie est belle! That annoying note disappears and this starts to develop into a whole other fragrance.

Classique intense isn’t my favorite im probably keeping it with my collection cause the bottle is so good with all the details. But as a scent this is roberto cavalli and la vie est belle’s baby.

Sillage is moderate in the first hour and then it transfers into a skin scent. If you are to buy a perfume i suggest Buying in white instead of this.

Sillage 3/10

Sexy, classy, intense, beautiful... Should I go on?

The bottle is rather stunning, definitely a collectors bottle if I've ever seen one.

I wear this scent when I want to feel powerful and demanding. She sits close to the skin, maybe her projection could be a little better, but I find I'm often told I smell *really* good when I wear this.

I find her a little too sweet in hot weather, but in the Winter and cooler Spring days, Classique Intense comes alive. I like to wear her for date nights, sinful hotel breaks away and with blazers and pencil skirts when *I* am the boss. She commands attention, but not in a smutty way. Classique Intense is effortlessly feminine and very smooth.

I don't usually vibe with floriental perfumes. I like to smell sweet and fresh most of the time, but I just can't resist Classique Intense. She just makes me stand so tall. She makes me want to grab my too-high heels (that I totally can't walk in anymore) and a tight little skirt and go out and face the world. Bottled confidence.

I don't usually re-purchase perfumes, but I've just come to the end of my bottle of this and I'm already on the hunt for another.

Fabulous Kevin

If you have to choose only one sweet-sexy fragrance on the perfume world right now, this is it. Classique intense is a beautiful scent, very well-blended, so sexy and delicious. By the way, I find it has a similar vibe with My Burberry Black and Elie Saab In White, highly recommend!

Rosemary14

This is very nice. It has Fancis Kurkdjan written all over it. He does love his orange blossom and patchouli. I like the other notes in this the pomegranate, tiara flower, the little sweetness at the end. But to be honest with you if you have any other FK designer fragrances like any of the Elie Saab edp, or In White there is no real need to buy this. I kind of wish he had added more notes like a sandalwood, or some more amber or perhaps some myrrh or perhaps some smoother yellow flowers like ylang or frangipani and maybe dial back on the patchouli just a little. Just something to make it a bit more different and add a bit more dimension than what he’s done so many times. But, I will say of every other designer fragrances of his that are orange blossom and patchouli this is my favorite. It’s a bit more clean and has more freshness then the thick honeyed richness of his other fragrances. Although this is no shrinking violet it is indeed “intense.” Which I like it’s always nice to know that a fragrance is going to have good longevity.

Update: I have worn this about 6 hours and I worked out with it on. It’s warmed up to be such a clean, floral, sweet vanilla. It’s great.

It’s December now, I wanted to wear something warm, delectable & not so shy. This girl, JPG Classique Intense is perrrfect!! 👍🏽👍🏽✨
This one never lets me down every time I wear it. It’s a guarantee pleasure and long hour companion because there is absolutely a strong presence for hours! She stays and never wants to go away! But she is not cheap nor obnoxious at all. I keep saying “she” in a metaphorical way but it actually doesn’t smell feminine nor masculine. It’s a wonderful a bit intoxicating “Fume” wraps around me to boost my being. 🏃🏻♂️💪🏽🙌🏽
I think I sprayed about 10 times all around myself and I know, some of you might be popping your eyes but my body/skin is like sponge 🧽 (but I’m not a sponge Bob 😂🤣) it absorbs and eat up the scents very fast so this is my trick for most fragrance to last long enough through out the day.
It’s been already more than 9 hours and I can still smell like I just sprayed an hour ago. I wouldn’t do this if I were to be inside an office or in some medical facility but for my run around in the city on my day off, wearing a coat & wool scarf 🧣, why not.
This fragrance is super unique, high niche-like quality, and a confident powerhouse. 👊🏽👊🏽💥💥☄️☄️🔥🔥🦖🦍🐘🐅 Yet it doesn’t come across obnoxious mean beast. (Haha... sounds like someone’s boss? 🤣) in my opinion.
It consistently smells intensive, creamy, round, warm, sensual, tart and fruity-creamy sweet, like piña colada, right from the beginning till now 9hrs + in!! 🎉🎉🍹🧁🍑🍓🍍
Although the description above says “40%” original classique, to me, it’s probably about 10% or less. I never thought I’d love this scent on me as much as I do on my skin. I equally love 💗 this one as the male version of “intense”, “Le Male - Ultra Male”. 💪🏽💪🏽
For those who like sweet but more subdued and mellowed down, I recommend the original “Classique EDP”. That one has rum, rose, vanilla and orchid(?) and sits on the skin also for a long time but softer & elegant way. I enjoy that original EDP, too. But if you feel a bit more daring, confident, sexy & dominant all in a good & haute couture way, this one is for you to rock for the day! ☝🏽 👍🏽✨💅🏼💃🏻👠👠🏋🏻♀️🤸🏻♀️🎽✨

auroramaria

This one is my favourite in the Classique linea.it smells so deliciously sweet and creamy with a touch of powder It feels like a giant hug,it is so well crafted and lasts for hours. What a lovely fragrance

dglightblue

summer test initially a love at first sniff.
winter/spring test, its not as strong in the same ways...

towards the end i feel similarities to miss dior edp - the older version with the nice patchouli and other notes.

i feel this is very likeable, i will try it again...

i think there is almost a honeyied quality to it, and with the spice, and patch, vanilla white florals (this is not flowery or fresh at all) is there orange in it... a candied one... there's a good level of depth going on.

wow i just cant pick what it is just yet, it reminded me of other scents but now it doesnt. im stumped

mevans

This is warm and sweet and lovely. Lasts for hours and sillage is good. I would have said there was a honey note in it but there is none listed. There is a heavier sweetness to it that presents similar to honey. There is enough floral to balance the sweet and not have it tip into the gourmand. Good for day or night, any season and I could actually see this worn by men as well.

raiza1990

Nice fragrance. It is a fresh vanilla. It is pleasant, good for summer. Smells classy and comforting. It is nothing groundbreaking, but it is well done. Probably a safe blind buy.

LisaWB

This perfume is great for the rare days when I DON'T want something sweet, spicy or vanilla based. To me it smells just like Eden by Cacharel, especially the dry down (and Eden is half the price with the same longevity).

I get a slight Avon vibe when first sprayed (may be the powder?) but after 15-20 minutes it settles and is a lovely clean, floral scent that lasts a good 6-8 hours on me.

It is nothing like Classique so if you're expecting a similarity you'll be disappointed. BUT it you like a wide variety of perfume types then this is a lovely addition.

Lune d'Ete

This perfume is too much for me. It has a nice tiare and vanilla with patchouli underneath. A classier, less sharp version of Rihanna's Reb'l Fleur, not entirely the same, but it's from the same theme, also bears slight resemblance to Guerlain's Terracotta. Those luscious sweet beachy white florals, a little salty. Literally used it one time, and it just is not me. I prefer something like Reveal by CK for a similar vibe. Would swap; if interested, please pm me.

Katou117

Amazing! Love everything that has intense orange blossom. I think it has a little resemblance in the dry down with Armani code which has a lot of orange blossom and vanilla, but JPG is more intense on the orange blossom.
The most important thing for me is that since it is now (unfortunately) discontinued and because of this I could get a 50ml for 19.99$ at my local Shoppers drugmart, this is a lot less than it was retailing not so long ago. Bought a back up bottle at that price. Lovely if you're an orange blossom maniac like me!

Edit : I know what it reminds me also ! La vie est Belle l'eclat EDP ! I knew there was something else than Armani code that JPG classique intense reminded me....oh that orange blossom :)

Second edit: I don't know if it's my nose but after 2 hours it's gone, I can't smell anything on my skin, so disappointed because I would like to smell it. I was told that it does smell but very lightly, so this means that it becomes a skin scent quite rapidly on me. And I thought that this would be very powerful...

Albiretu

I don't think this smells anything like Classique EDT or EDP, in fact, this is extremely similar to Elie Saab In White. A little less red berries than in In White, but otherwise very similar.

violetbelle

This is both divine and decadent. Vanilla provides this sweet-cream base for an ambrosial bouquet of lush tiare and ripe orange blossom (I adore both but especially appreciate that orange blossom really comes through). The addition of fruit just hints at naughty-dessert without crudely overtaking the flowers. Wonderful year round, but stellar in hot temps. I don't think it can get much better than this.

Alisaaa131

I'd been reading reviews about this for a while but after seeing the term "gourmand" i said forget it!
I was at the mall and I found a tester so I sprayed a test strip but some got onto my hand as well.
My boyfriend said "ooohh I really like that one!" So I stuck the strip in my bag and we went home. The wind was blowing so hard but I kept getting a whiff of a red fruit and I realized it was my hand!
I got home all the other items in the bag smelled of this!
This is some quality stuff, they don't make fragrances like this anymore!
It lasts on the clothes for SO long I can still smell my jacket of this.

I seem to get alot of the pomegranate and the tiare flower with some vanilla, I don't get much of any florals or patchouli. I wouldn't have known it was pomegranate as it smells like a tart red fruit with something sliiiightly nutty and sweet in the background. I don't find this to be gourmand at all, the tiare flower makes it powdery after a while but it's SO smooth.
I don't like super sweet, gourmand or fruity fragrances since most come across as too "young" for my taste, this is sweet but the tartness keeps it fresh for me to keep wanting to spray it.
I'd like to try out other Jean Paul Gaultier fragrances if they're made with this type of quality, this one has become a huge love for me!!

I’m a guy but super open to wear some of ladies fragrances whenever I enjoy and suit with my skin and this is one of them.
Although it’s super sweet and a bit creamy floral, I love the way it wraps around myself with that warmth and rich deliciousness. The main flower of tiare is apparently worn by both men and women in original country of Tahiti for this flower, no wonder I like wearing it and other guys can also wear this fragrance with joy!
This one is quite a powerful fragrance so I usually spray less than other men’s fragrances and it still lingers on me and around me for a long time! I keep smelling this hypnotizing and magical scent all day long!
Some mentioned that this reminds them of “in white” EDP by ELIE SAAB and for that white floral creamy and sweet combination is true, these two could be sisters and I love both but this by JPG is definitely much sweeter and less floral than ELIE SAAB, and ELIE SAAB is more floral than this one. It’s interesting because both ELIE SAAB and JPG have orenge blossom and vanilla, ELIE SAAB has red berries instead of pomegranate with JPG. And they both have patchouli! So these two fragrances are indeed sisters!
I love the audacity of the scent and gold dress of “INTENSE”, and the boldness and daring fragrance that keeps projecting all day long. This is totally worth investing to buy and wear it whenever you have that “POW!!” or in need of strength, power & joy for the day or week!
I definitely recommend this for a dressed up, sexy, fun and provocative cocktail night outs and during urban fashion and furniture shopping inspiration.
Two thumbs up!!

Summer test, a couple sprays on inner arm.

Quite intoxicating in a sweet way.

Nutty, sweet, deep, Vanille?
Can’t speak to flowers, prehaps they make the depth and roundedness? I’m not super keen on original Classique and never really sought out.

Good lasting power, if it wasn’t a rip off price I would cinsider it

blueberrycheesecake

Indeed, while not the same, this perfume has strong similarities with Elie Saab In White. They share that floral-ambery combination with a touch of patchouli. I would probably even go so far as to say you don't need both. But test which one you prefer.

Now what concerns the Essence de parfum version of Classique, i find it very different from Intense version. They are only similar in vanilla-orange flower department, but i don't think it's safe to presume, that if you like one you will like the other. To my nose they are completely different scents. Essence is more cheerful and sparkly with tangerine and ginger, while beeing sweet. Intense is very warm and ambery to my nose.

While i'm head over heels with the Essence flanker, the Intense is more like "hm, let's see if we can get along".

rola.asad

I was hesitant to purchase this beauty five months ago, but I got a good offer and bought it immediately!
I didn’t reach for it in winter, feeling it’s more suited for spring, and during the last 2 months I used it so frequently for nights out and special family meetings!

I find it somehow “ gourmand y-ish” scent, somehow similar to elie Saab, but where elie's saab "Le parfum" is known for its simplicity, this dude is the complete opposite!, it's more complex, and creamier, full of details and full of character, super sweet and gourmand; CI is all about tiare and vanilla, so bright and cheerful fragrance.

I do enjoy wearing it, even though its not my typical preference, I guess it will take me so long to finish my bottle, and if it wasn’t limited edition I guess I wouldn’t repurchase it, but I don’t regret buying it, I will enjoy every drop out of it, and so happy to have this gorgeous bottle it in my collection.

Single rose in the forest

Tiare at it's best ! so sensual and feminine! I get tiare, vanilla, a little bit of jasmine and pomegranate!I wear it all year long.I can't resist it.On summer months a spray less thought. This is my second favourite after Classique. Haven't smell something similar yet.
I would say that only confident women between 23-50 can wear this.Definately not for shy and cute people. Plus: MEN LOVE IT

rola.asad

I always come to say “ this is a nice perfume but not for me”, however when I read the reviews for one more time I keep telling myself give it a second Try!!

Edit: bought it, and used it for more than a year, so let's give a second review:
Sophisticated, cheerful, gourmand, sweet white floral scent, for a confident, a giving vitality lady, cheers!

rola.qusrawi

There is something nice after it dries down, but still overpowering, its for elder generation IMO, not for me!

This smells exactly like Coco Mademoiselle and, by extension, Armaf Club de Nuit. Maybe patchouli is too overpowering for me to smell anything else, but there it is.

JenJones28

I have to add on to my original review. I wore this today. At first I thought I liked the EDT better because it is less sweet. But as I wore this it developed into one of the prettiest and most clean smelling fragrances ever. The sweetness evened out. I recommend this.

JenJones28

This is super sweet. A lot of Kurkdjian’s fragrances remind me of each other. This reminds me of Elie Saab Resort as well as Elie Saab. They aren’t duped, just all super sweet to my nose. That doesn’t make it bad.
This is definitely one for Jasmine lovers.

kokoma1009

Such a lovely scent! I got a lot of compliments wearing this

Kath Grace

I adore this perfume. Creamy vanilla & orange... yum!

I had not tested a JPG fragrance in years... the last time was my sister's bottles of Fragile and Classique.

I was immediately brought back in time when I smelled Intense today. I can still remember loving my sisters Classique and stealing sprays from it. I loved the original back then and was equally impressed with the Intense when I smelled it today. Needless to say, I bought it!

Personally, I love it so much that I had to have it in my collection.

UnearthlyApothe: I totally get your reference to creamscicle!!!! You nailed it!!!! A lovely grown up creamsicle!!!!

jansiri

Ok so this is so much nicer than the original classique. I find it softer, more floral and doesnt have that star anise smell. Highly recommend. And like all the JPG scents lasts really well on the skin.

Beadvised

Another amazing JPG love the bottle love the juice. This is clearly the evening version of the original. I love them both equally. This version is much deeper, bolder and richer.

gritzalimaria

the dry down is to die for. what a rich and long lasting perfume with beautiful vanilla and so erotic so sexy it is the best. My opinion... it is nicer than the other one with the lace on the bottle and i thought that it was the best until now. i also tried the Essence eau de parfum the newest, but it is too much, so i prefer the golden bottle Intense. (sorry my english are not well i know) :D go for it girls, it is perfection, trust me !!

AlexisJane

I tried this not long ago, out of pure curiosity. I hadn't heard anything of it and didn't know what it smelt like, but the body-shaped bottles of the Classique line do intrigue me. And anything with 'intense' in the title, which generally indicates my favourite type of perfume, the olfactory bomb, meant that I went straight for this one.

I'm pretty certain I smell this, practically everywhere.

It hit my skin, and all it was, was a massive smother of florals on my skin; all tiare and jasmine flowers and overloaded further with orange blossom and sweet vanilla. I will give it credit for being the olfactory bomb I was hoping for, because it projects like an absolute beast, but it isn't all that long-lasting on my skin, only about five hours.

I will say, it's lovely. It's quite nice. But what puts me off is that I know I smell this everywhere where I live, and think that as nice as it is, I'd be sick of smelling it before even thinking of purchasing a bottle. It's nice, very feminine and girly, so I do know plenty of people who love it, but the only real floral bomb to have ever claimed by heart is YSL's Paris, and I think that's how it'll stay.

gfp

far far to sweet for my taste. though staying power is huge

UnearthlyApothecary

I love original Classique but this one made me nervous because I recently discovered Cavalli EDP is way too sharp for me To the point of causing sinus pain but I should have known JPG wouldn't let me down. Cavalli needs to send his nose to JPG's guy to learn how to properly blend orange blossom. This is AMAZING smells kinda like an orange creamsicle. Very loud orangy floral vibe but creamy not sharp at all. And that patchouli in the base... oh man beautiful. Classique Intense has great silage and I can tell the longevity will be great as well. This one is a WIN!

knotslandinggirl

I tested this today, and WOW is all I can say!!

What a strong scent this is,boy it is one of the strongest scents that I have tested, and i own a lot of strong fragrances.

This is wonderfully powerful,it creates a bubble of projection that could fill a room,it will just let other people with other fragrances pale into significance!!!

I think I have found the strongest powerhouse of a perfume and I love it!!

It suits a bold personality, someone who will just sashay into a room with uber confidence, and if you don't have the confidence, wear this,it will transform you!

I do not know if it is the vanilla, the patchouli, the rose, that fresh berries from the pomegranate or the tiare flower, but it is mixed so well that the nose will love it,and others will comment on a fragrance unlike no others they have smellt.

Strong, seductive, powerful,it will take you on a journey,as the notes morph into a whirlwind of hypnotism,it is quite narcottic!

Looking for a power piece of modern millennial fragrance.....you've found it here!!
Beautiful!!

mschnabel666

OMG OMG OMG!

I didn't know what to expect with this. A blind buy. I loooove the EDP (even tho it's not my thing), and the EDT is nice. I found a tester for sale of this, and grabbed it!

DEEEEEEEELICIOUS! Nothing related to Classique that is for sure. (Classique EDT/EDP is very soapy/powder with vanilla/floral/spice)

This straight up smells like orange Pixie Stix powder candy! YUMMMMMY!!!!! It just came today, and this was a very impatient test on a tissue. I can't wait to wear it proper!!

I also have the Essence coming. WAHOOOO!! I do think I'll want more of this Intense. Sweet candy/gourmands are my crack!

Happy dance!

The flowers and a bit of powder are creeping in now. Giving it less of an edible candy smell. At first this smelled like the Orange Sherbert of Dior Poison Girl EDT.
In fact, I think Poison Girl fans would like this. Very diff than JPG Classique/90s scents.

My further sniffings... this is candy sweet but not straight up candy. I get orange. Maybe it's the pomegranate and orange blossom? It reminded me of Armani Code a bit for the orange-spice. It's a bit powdery and creamy, but this is def a very sweet candy-like perfume. I love it, but I'm not sure how MUCH I love it. I will see how I like Essence, and how much it's like Intense. And if they are really similar, I won't go nuts buying back ups of Intense.... lol....
Nothing soapy here.... nothing like French makeup powder.... no relation to Classique EDT/EDP in my opinion.
I get zero patchouli, which is fine by me. This does feel "solar" actually... it's thick and creamy but still sparkling and bright. It's def vivacious! :)

I also just got Olympea Intense by Paco Rabanne, and they smell very very similar. Olympea has that slight airy salt note, which sets them apart.

My initial tissue test (2 spray) from 24 overs ago is still going strong! (The tissue is at my work desk) I am still getting a rather linear powdery orange candy- but it's VERY pleasing, and def reminds me of Poison Girl EDT- but better sillage and potency by far! I can smell my desk area from 1-3 feet.

Yeah... Scented Monkey has these new 100ml testers for $35 and I bought 2 more (my first was from SM too). What is wrong with me???? lol.... I didn't even wait to see how the Essence compares (since I have a 100ml of that coming too). I'm just afraid this would get discontinued or SM would sell out and I'd never find them for $35 again.

2-3 days later, this tissue test is such a soft lovely spicy orange blossom. What a winner this perfume is!

Iloveperfume.ir

When I saw classic intense on my friends shelf I couldn't take my eyes away.I said to her it looks very sexy and she said this perfume matches with it's bottle and it smells very sexy too.when she spray it on me I hate it.it was sharp and cloying and smell like bug spray.a very sweet bug spray.after ten minutes I was dying with love.not like bug spray now.a very sweet and warm vanilla Jasmin and patchouli.smells very golden very delicious and very sexy.perfume of a seductress but not dark.it's sunny.it's very special and I can't remember something like this.it's not good for hot days.I must buy it and use it when I want to smell warm and sexy.longevity and sillage very good.it's one of best perfumes I know
10/10

NoirDesir

Very magnetic scent, sweet and addictive. It's sweet without being overpowering. Gourmand scent, smells delicious on skin, pure vanilla. Longlasting, 8h+, heavy sillage. I love this one!

Loredana0108

Mmmm....a sensual mix of tiare flower, jasmine, vanilla and patchouli. This is the exotic, sexy, loud (and less classy) cousin of terracota le parfum by Guerlain. I picture a dark skinned beauty wearing this, someone like Nicole Scherzinger or Rihanna, provocative and seductive. In the drydown it reminds me a bit of Insolence but less sharp.

Soofiya

I love classique edp and edt so I always wanted to try this one too
Finally I received it today thanks to perfumeshoping site and this is amazing,I love it even more than original classique
I find classique intense very different with original.it's not powdery as originals,it's very creamy and balmy.main player is vanilla here,a warm, buttery and very sweet vanilla which is blended with a creamy combination of white florals, tiara Jasmine and orange flower while a hint of pomegranate adds fresh sparks and a very faint patchouli which give it more depth.but it's mostly a vanilla, white floral combo.strong and sexy and sweet,it's a real intense fragrance and definitely one for cold weather.I find it seductive and cuddly the same time, delicious and feminine and it's golden liquid and pretty bottle is adorable
Great longevity and sillage
Love,love,love
❤❤❤❤❤

socorrosouza

I wish I felt Classique Intense this way, to me it is just a bit more flowery Classique, same good longevity (although now that I think it is a bit smaller) and sillage (also a bit less projection). I am underwhelmed by Classique and bought this because of Francis K and although I like it a bit better on my skin (unlike Poeme, which I love, Classique on my skin is a mess) it is too much like Classique to be a love, not even a real like.

Coffee_Girl

To be honest I am not a huge fan of gourmand scents. Had I known the notes in Intense would have combined to produce the sickeningly sweet accord of caramel, I would probably never have blind swapped for it. Either way, initial impressions are a cloying candy fragrance despite what the notes indicate.

Pomegranate is listed as a top note yet I can barely smell it, I also do not pick up any rose in this…however the vanilla and tiare flower are very enhanced by its patchouli neighbor. Which consequently creates a very thick syrupy caramel scent that dominates everything else, this doesn’t smell fruity or floral on my skin; in fact I am getting Prada Candy vibes. The dry down is non spectacular; it remains the ghost of its former self, very reminiscent of suntan lotion. I do feel the tiare flowers give this a very creamy texture, which warms the overall base of this perfume and makes it a great addition for those cold autumn months.
I am not sure why Jean Paul Gaultier claimed to have kept 40% of the original Classique formulation while adding 60% of the newer creations; I own Classique and this is nothing like it. In fact I feel as though Intense should have been in a class of its own. Aside from the bottle design, this shares no similarity to the original.

Overall I feel this would be a great addition if you’re really into gourmand and super intense sugary fragrances, but if you are against the smell of suntan lotion and caramel, test this first before buying.

Eyviab

I got this beauty in the mail today in a lovely swap with Coffee_Girl! Thanks again! It's lovely at first spray it's a little fruity, a bit musky(must be the patch), sweet, and warm with present vanilla! I love the house of JPG! I would also add it has a striking resemblance to Lady Million by PR and Cash by La rive but to my nose this is much nicer since I don't really know why both of those are just a like whereas this is more likely going to be a love for me! I think the Vanilla really balances it just right! For me at least ;)

Nikki24

Very sexy. First time wearing it I got a very enthusiastic compliment from a male friend. Someone wrote a review saying it smells like an expensive sunscreen, I kind of agree. Hard to describe the smell just very sexy and addictive.

ivlia

I love you Francis! And my name is not Claire.

Edit: Apparently nobody laughed at my joke. Oh well, referring to House of Cards in a perfume review might not be the best idea indeed, but I just couldn't help it! :) Anyway, the fragrance is gorgeous. I've been testing it since yesterday together with some other creations by Francis Kurkdjian and I am more and more convinced that this guy is a genius.

terrance*michigan

I love it! Spicy jasmine scent. The spicyness comes from the 40% classique original, and the 60% new formulation gives the vanilla and jasmine a greater 'oomph'. Great longevity. I can smell it on my clothes days after I wear it

victoria.mei1992

Stays very close to the skin, but nice sweet, at first quite oriental.

ShinningLightOfThunder

Such a beautiful floral fragrance! Love everything about it!

carpp79

I'm usually not into gourmand and sweet perfumes, but this one is very good. Glad I have it, though I don't wear it very often. Some of my perfumes I wear most at home, before going to bed. This is one of them, which I wear it exclusively for my own pleasure. Lovely!

auroramaria

I love Classique EDP and this version is def more gourmand, very sweet with lots of orange blossoms lasts for ages and projects very well.
I have this in my collection and certainly enjoy wearing it but it can't compare to original EDP whch I find awesome

Peters155

So so sweet it makes you feel sticky and icky. But if u have sweet tooth like me u go crazy for it. Have a good day folks x

GourmandGirl

I am a huge JPG fan, my signature being Classique edt, so i had high hopes for this, and i wasn't disappointed! This is amazing!! It was a blind buy, so i was chancing it as it's quite expensive, but i had a feeling i would love it- you gotta take risks, right...?

The jasmine and vanilla are most prominent on me, but the first spray is definitely pomegranate heavy, which settles down quite quickly. The tiare flower is a constant all the way through, but it's the vanilla and jasmine that really shine on me. The orange blossom and patchouli sit way in the background, and i am yet to smell any rose in it at all.

It is exquisite, a truly beautiful scent, i am so in love. It has such a gentle warmth, but there is also something very sexy about it. It would be great for a date night, it's not 'in your face' and doesn't overpower. I can smell it wafting gently as i move, and the longevity is amazing... but i wouldn't expect any less from one of JPG's creations, they always last hours!

If you're a fan of Alien and its flankers, i think you will love this, as they both have that familiar creamy jasmine smell. I highly recommend this, go try it, it will honestly captivate you!

Chelsea1605

I absolutely ADORE this. Creamy white floral with a hint of sweetness from the pomegranate drying down into a vanilla floral. Everything about this just works so well for me.

It was a blind buy but one of my most successful ones.

JPG has delivered once more, a beautiful edition to the Classique flankers.

It feels sensuous!

MadeiraD

Pomegranate, lush juicy and tempting, white flowers given fuller bloom by vanilla, big and sweet. Gloriously unsubtle, unexpected despite what you might think, nothing else I've smelled smells quite like it. It is "BOOM" and "VAVAVA VOOM" for the era of CGI action and Kim Kardashian, and I don't mean that in a bad way. It is glamorous and decadent and quite unique, other fruity florals pale in comparison to her voluptuous blatant sensuality.

There is something suggestive… perhaps a hint vaginal in the lush wet pomegranate, it hints at larger than life baroque fabulist sex with effects by Weta.

PLUMPIE

I adore the original Classique in EDT formulation, this is certainly strong, overwhelmingly sweet and gourmand-fruity at the start, a touch smokey but way too much vanilla/pomegranate for me. I sprayed 2 hours ago and the sweetness is still overpowering my sinuses

LisaMari

For some reason this smells aquatic to me :/ I think that could be the pomegranate and/or patchouli.. anyway it smells like a subtle sugary water. And although it smells light the projection is surprisingly good. I'm not a fan of aquatics generally though, and this is like velvety aquatic sugar :/ it's interesting and nice, won't offend anyone. I also get tiny hints of a masculine note, like aftershave. In the drydown I also noticed a light strawberry note

ScarlettX

Lately I have given the Classique line a second chance. I hated the original, but the one with the X on, was quite good.
This one amazed me, it is so sweet and lovely. Full of warm vanilla, some light white floral notes and patchouli.
A warm and comforting composition that is super perfect for dark and cold winter.
This is a must try, if you hate the original!

ismellsogood

I have never ever enjoyed JPG fragrances. I have always been annoyed by the smell. However how can you not love and admire the beautifully designed bottles....

So... one evening in August attending a hen party... one of the girls invited wore this perfume...When I figured out who this gorgeous aroma was coming from I curiously asked her what are you wearing I was so shocked when she told me it was a JPG shocked I tell you- I was like 'Hold up!! Which one?????1 I made her be clear... as she was just saying quite nonchalantly,''oh you know the female one , the new one...'' Nooo there are so many new ones which one?? I was not a fan of the other flankers but this smell!

DIVINE! Sexy, unforgettable, electric, awakening, seductively sweet indulgent, gourmand heaven and I think it is magically sensual...

I bought it....I am awaiting it's arrival impatiently.
I asked the lady at the perfume shop to spritz this on me she sprayed once... LOL I asked if I could spray it myself and I went crazy...spraying it all over myself ha!
The compliments I received made me blush! Made me proud to smell so inviting !
Chemistry is incredible- this is incredible on me. I am in slight disbelief that I am going to own a Jean Paul Gaultier bottle....which I've always genuinely wanted to love....

...AND NOW I DO! whoop whoop!

Endymion

This is an absolutely gorgeous new perfume! Fresh, elegant and seductive. Why didn't they release it with a new name and new package?
It has nothing to do with the original Gaultier classic female perfume!
Maybe it was a marketing strategy to take advantage of the Gaultier Classic's popularity and legacy.

Cassiano

In 2014, Jean Paul Gaultier decided to ask for help to one of his largest contributors, when it comes to fragrances: Francis Kurkdjian. Responsible for lots of successes for the House, in a partnership that began in 1995, with the creation of the powerful Le Male, it fell to him to renew the appreciated scent of Classique (1993), which became a symbol of the ideal of femininity in the 90’s, in addition to receiving, in about 20 years, almost 40 different versions.

On the bottle, now in Gold, the famous corset which was immortalized in Madonna's body, during the Blond Ambition Tour, in 1990. In fact, many people do not know, but when the original fragrance was released, its name was only Jean Paul Gaultier Eau de Parfum. And, for this reason, many people dubbed it of "Madonna", as if it was the official name of the perfume. Quickly, it won an EDT version and was named Classique.

In this version, the perfumer sought inspiration in the original creation, guaranteeing that 40% of the fragrance was maintained, receiving 60% of modernity. It has notes of Pomegranate and Tiare flower (Tahitian gardenia), in the head; Jasmine, orange blossom and roses, in the heart; Patchouli and vanilla, in the base.

It is inside of the floral-oriental category, but on the skin worked as a floral-gourmand. From the moment it touches the skin, it is intense in its fullness. In fact, to call a Gaultier perfume as "Intense" is incredibly redundant. In this case, it seems to me that it is more a marketing choice than a name chosen on purpose.

The pomegranate gives a glimmer of red fruits, which blends with the floral creaminess of gardenia. The bright side of the fragrance lasts for hours and is the result of the orange blossom. After about 30 minutes, the jasmine appears with clarity, but the note that performs a real show is the vanilla, because it is noticeable since the beginning, even though strategically placed in the base of the fragrance. It is liqueur and sweet in the right proportion. Along with the note of patchouli, exudes nuances reminiscent of caramel, but is not cloying.
During the tests, it has projected absurdly, even with only one spray on each wrist. On my skin, it lasted for about 10 hours.

Women compare it with Elie Saab Intense, Alien, Euphoria, etc. What I can say is that this is the kind of perfume that men love to feel in a woman. It's sexy, it's addictive and it's not nauseating.

kayley123

Intense sweet jasmine/orange blossom floral, very slightly indolic to my nose.
similar to Elie Saab but no honey, not sugar-sweet in the same way...instead floral-sweet. ALMOST champagney/liqueur type sweet.

lusalem

very very very sweet...scandalous, gaping...but ten minutes later, i loved it!

Mohd93

I would describe this as sweet, mature, bubblegum white floral.

It opens VERY sweet, has a similar "bubblegum/floral" to Roberto Cavalli EDP, and it only gets better from there. The dry down for me is still sweet but not as sweet as the opening, it becomes more... sensual.

I would say the mixture of Tiare, Jasmine and Vanilla makes this somewhat bright, sweet and balmy. I love Patchouli in this as it appears lightly and balances the scent without ruining it. Not a powerhouse, but strong enough (very good longevity and projection).

Oh, and this is not at all like the original, it's less powdery, less spicy, sweeter, and more modern. I do suggest testing before buying but if you love perfumes like Roberto Cavalli Eau de Parfum I don't see how you can dislike this. I love this even more than RC EDP.

PS- Classique Intense and Roberto Cavalli EDP do NOT smell the same. But they have similar vibes and share that balmy/sweet aspect.

kera_5j

I wanted to love this, but I couldn't.

The tiare flower sours the jasmine and the rose somehow, and the brightness of the orange blossom is non-existent. What's left is a synthetic (cheap) smell of non-descript "white flowers" that become sweetened by an unbalanced dose of "sticky" smelling vanilla.

Really a BIG misfire. Brutally drugstore.

Update: the "sticky" vanilla tones down after drydown, but the "off" note of the tiare flower stays...

It's hard to explain, but I imagine if you could smell the bruising of flowers, or the "off" smell when they go stale, this is what they would smell like. Not a good smell obviously.

Alayna1011

Gorgeous. A new favorite! JPG intense does remind me a bit of Elie Saab Intense, but it's definitely different enough to be worth owning both. If you like Elie Saab (original and Intense versions) you will most likely like this one as well.

It is very sweet - maybe be too sweet for some people's tastes, but to me it manages to be sweet while remaining bright, sparkly and refreshing. A true solar perfume, it really feels radiant and incandescent. Delicious, warm and dazzling but NOT overpowering at all. I know, I'm gushing.. this was a blind buy and I'm just so happy I took the reviews on here to heart and pulled the trigger. For some reason I wasn't able to find this in any stores around here so had to go thru ebay.

I also received my first unprovoked compliment of the year from a total stranger while wearing this for the first time today! Which is very very rare for me. Obviously I don't wear perfume just for the compliments, but it's still a nice feeling and a big plus! Also, projection is *amazing* - the woman could smell me from several feet away and I hadn't sprayed a ton on. Longevity is average. Very good value for the money.. I am already starting to worry that this is a limited edition, but I'm really hoping it is part of the permanent line up.

8.5/10, one of the better designer scents I've tried and certainly a
contender for best release of 2015 (we shall see what else appears..)

Edit- does anyone know if this is a limited release or if it will be a permanent addition? Please PM me if so, I am really curious and want to stock up on some backups if it is limited. Thanks :)

Blue wolf

Classique Intense is my first fragrance from JPG and it will likely be my last. Not because I dislike it, but because wearing any other fragrance by Gaultier would be anticlimactic.
Normally I avoid patchouli like the plague, since it is a smell I associate with hippie incense and it doesn't wear well on me. In Classique Intense it is delicious, and serves to enrich the fragrance rather than detract. On my skin the tiare and orange blossom combine in a heady, exotic mix; I feel like a gorgeous wahine. The vanilla isn't clearly obvious, and the pomegranate adds a fruity note without the intrusive sharp or acidic nature of citrus. Even the jasmine is balanced. It's a symphonic renovation by Kurkdijan.
When I first apply a fragrance, I want it to smell luscious and I want to revel in it. I found myself using Classique Intense carefully because I wanted to make it last. I have tried hundreds of fragrances and this is the first one my husband has really, REALLY liked. And as an extra confirmation, today I received an unsolicited compliment from a dear friend who said that I smelled really good. Since he is not the kind of guy to lie about anything (he's notoriously honest) I was very pleased. It appears that even though I have never looked for a signature fragrance, one has found me.

parislady

A new favorite from JP Gaultier
I used to love wearing JP Gaultier Classique in the 90s but after a long time felt I had worn it enough and other perfumes called out to me.
This new one Intense was intrigueing and when I had my first whiff I was in love. Got a large bottle for christmas and am wearing it this past month.
Its so sensual, quite different to the original, they are both soft femine scents and sexy but this has a modern edge warmer edge.
Love the patchouli and vanilla, but they are not heavy handed, you smell the gentle flowers also and there is a lovely drydown which is at once powdery ,sexy and just the right amount of floral. A true Oriental perfume and a new favorite, cant stop wearing it.
Husband loved it and it doesnt overpower but its sexy and memorable. Just what you want in a scent.
Will stand the test of time and had just the right amount of longevity. Classic

RosieRachel

Classique Intense is one of those pretty, sweet, ladylike, softly feminine and well-balanced perfumes that's perfect as an everyday choice.

Sadly, on my skin, this is an absolute dud. At first, I got an unpleasant funk (that I'm presuming is patchouli) combined with some sweetness. The heart is a very synthetic vanilla scent, that settles into a dry-down of a warmer vanilla. Sillage is very soft; lasts for about 4-5 hours. Definitely not for my chemistry!

firipa

I smelled this on paper, thought it was beautiful and bought it straight away. I'm impulsive like that.

I've noticed that perfumes tend to turn sweeter on me than my friends, maybe my skin temperature?
On my skin this is very sweet and fruity, almost like a very ripe pomegranate with jasmine. Almost to the point of headache if not used with caution. 2 sprays on the wrist and then dabbed behind the ears are more than enough for the whole day! It stays put all day and remains on clothes for a long time. A nice fragrance, but much too sweet for me. Maybe for someone on their early 20s (I'm 27 y/o), I can't picture this for someone mature or on a professional role (or even using it too early in the morning, haha).
I find it better during winter for the above reasons, I think it would be sickening during summer...

I have the 50ml parfum bottle, I've only used till about shoulder length, so plenty left over. Contact me if you would like a swap or make an offer.

mymlan

I used to love the original when it was my signaure in the 90's, but Classique Intense smells quite far from it. The opening here is very citrusy and that goes on for some time. The flowers and vanilla creates a soft caramel smelling yumminess that forms the heart. I think it's easy to wear and like it's predecessor it's very versatile. I think it addresses someone who perhaps doesn't have so many fragrances and who wants a signature that can be worn any season, any time of the day. The projection is medium and longevity all right, but it's not the same power house as the original.

ellina1984

The top very much reminds me of Euphoria CK, with the pomegranate note, kind of sour and fruity. I also smell thick white florals. When I'd first sampled this I smelt a lot of peach (how did that happen???), and the smell was "golden". I now get none of this. What a shame... It just goes to show you should sample more than once.

monamonib

i got this perfume blind buy iwas travelling and it was on the shelf but without tester thse sales lady said it just came and there is no tester i hesitat to take finally itook big one based on ur review itried 3 time every time isay to myself ismelled this before in some place finally i remembered we were travelling and we entered pink pirry ashop of icecream and we ordered the pomegranate ice cream now u knew the smell it is sweet and sour very nice one spray stay the whole day reall intense

MAGNIFIQUE !!! Special, crazy, something else, powerfull, sexy.....just, love it !!!

Flashshock

LOVE Love this scent. It seems to have been designed for me. three of my friends tried it an it smelled completely different on each of them. The science of perfume, all my favorite scents have common ingredients.

This Fragrance is (on me) long lasting, sensual and womanly. I get constant compliments when I were this. I didn't think I could prefer it to the original but I do.

Firegoddesslily

This just arrived today and I am in love. I tested this a couple of times before getting it online but only today do I realise just how much I love it. It starts out spicy and intense for the first few hours of wear which is gorgeous and sexy. Then later the yummy vanilla starts to smell much stronger and the scent becomes softer and more sensual, though still quite strong. All in all it's beautiful and that's not to mention the bottle which is a work of art in itself.

Alisha's

Just brought this perfume today, after spraying it 2 days ago when looking for lady million. I think thus is an amazing perfume weirdly it smells how it looks. Spicy floral with a syrupy honey glaze, it's beautiful. I let my mum smell it and she really wants to get it and our taste in perfume are so different, I like sweet, fruity, musky& spicy scene were as she prefers powdery, floral, fresh &musky senses.

Milenadim

Special, sweet, unique fragrance!Ideal for Christmas and especially for New Year's Eve!!Very festive!Pomegranate is too strong on my skin but at the same time sweet and lovely!!

Fabulous Kevin

OMG, this is the scent to die for, it's super sweet, even stronger and sweeter than La Vie Est Belle by Lancome. The bottle is so gorgeous, transparent. I found Classique Intense today in a shopping center, kinda expensive but i am going to purchase it soon. This is a must have for gourmand lovers. 10/10

Why can't I find a place to test this one what is up USA? I see it on sites but no one has it in stores where I live in Florida..bummer. :0/

It was love at first sniff for me. On my skin it's sweet & yummy, but it's not cloying or sickly sweet like Euphoria. Jasmin is dominant, but in good way. Only one sprayed on my wrist then I felt like I was surrounded in golden sugar heaven. It's rich, warm & sexy & my hubby loves it on me.

Hopefully this review will not be deleted, since, alas, it will be a negative one. And I would like to add some balance...
on paper this fume smells brutally beatiful, knock out gorgeous.
upon spray it still completely fawn worthy of my nose. After 30 mins i woke up from the ko slapping myself on the very wrist where I sprayed it. What was I thinking spraying on a predominantly jasmine scent on myself... bad bad skin.
It amplified the jasmine times 1000 and that's it, no go show for me. Sadly.

Classique Intense is beautiful with lots of white flowers and a great Vanilla and Patchouli note in base. On me it does not reminds me of the original Classique at all, Intense stands on its own, in a great way.

Classique Intense är en jättefin doft med en stor bukett vita blommor och med en härlig Vanilj och patchouli-not i basen. Intense påminner inte ett dugg om originalet Classique på mig. Intense står helt för sig själv, på ett ljuvligt sätt.

ginawadsworth

I wore this again recently, and found that on clothes it leaves a beautiful smell of brown sugar which has been caramelised with vanilla ...... absolutely gorgeous coming from someone who does not like sugary scents!!!!

Arlene-Beatrix

Initial blast is very powdery. However, after a while it is sunny tiare fragrance, I would say. Orange blossom is also there and that is why I like this scent in spite of its strong, a bit nauseating boudoir character.

Update: Very oriental.

ginawadsworth

Update:

I finally decided to buy this perfume for several reasons

I have never experienced an olfactory journey before, so this would be a novelty I hope to get each time I wear it.

I will never be able to afford a Francis Kurkdijan perfume, and will probably never find one here in New Zealand.

At my age, taking perfume chances it fun and I am enjoying this one, so why not.

I am broadening my perfume base. I choose a different perfume on a daily basis, and this addition shows another side of my personality. The more flirty side which is mostly under wraps.

Lastly, my husband likes it, so I can also wear this perfume in bed!!

Given my absolute dislike for JPG Classique, yes I detest it, I've been reluctant to try my sample of this to say the least. Today I found myself in a slightly adventurous mood and decided to 'bite the bullet' and give it a try and... WOW! What a difference! I love it! Yes it's still a little powdery at first, but, not so much as the Classique and this fades within a hour or so leaving a lovely oriental, floral smell. I won't attempt to identify specific notes as I'm not experienced enough, all I can say is that it smells lovely. I would say this is perfect for colder months rather than Summer but that's just my opinion. I also think that this modern yet classic enough for any age. I'm so pleased I tried this today. As for projection and longevity, well, after only 3 hours of wear it's probably too soon to say, but, with only 1 spray on each wrist I can still smell it from a good distance away without having to put nose to wrist so I'm guessing it's pretty good. I love this version of the bottle too! Ahh! Another one for the 'want' list I'd say.

Parfumista2010

I have always loved the bottle but never had a JPG fragrance in my life. So far. When I smelled Classique Intense I got weak and got myself the small 20ml bottle. At first, CI smells like a mixture of Angel and Alien. Then Angel disappears, leaving Alien with this sweet coconut notion that very much reminds me of the 90s Casmir by Chopard.
Maybe this is why this scent hooked me. Sentimental feelings captured in a bottle but Alien dominates. I am not a fan of Mugler´s Alien. On me it is too harsh and too cloying but Gaultier´s jasmine witchbrew has made the deal for me. It is a very sweet and sort of girlish scent, let´s be honest. If you like really grown-up perfume then this is probably not for you. However, if you like to experiment, if you are a full-grown woman who can still pull off some cheekiness CI will complete the picture.
I am not too happy with the longevity (medium only, never mind the "intense") but it is OK if you do not like to smell it after you have taken a shower.
Sillage is great, really great (while the scent lasts) so I keep to one spray only.
Nice scent for the upcoming colder season. It´s cuddly, it´s warm, it´s delicious.

I stayed on the defensive with this fragrance for at least 1 hour. I didn't like it at first. It was thick and smelled deciptively like honey. Really it smelled and feeled like honey! Then, after that it opened up! Notes started to make more sense and more recognizable. Then I came here and learnt that the perfumer was francis Kurkdjian and it all clicked together. This master perfumer has it's way with neroli and orange blossoms like no one other! Most of his best creations contains one or both of these notes. He just understands them so well, he never fails to create a great perfume around them!

In this scent however, orange blossoms take the back seat for vanilla and tiare to create a very sensual and alluring perfume that is bold, sexy and excentric while being in the same time classy, refined and long lasting. It also works in nearly any season except maybe summer cz it's a little thick!

I dare to say that this is the best classique so far. Perfect perfume from a perfect perfumer!

Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Intense opens with an indeed very intense fruity notes, tiare flower and orange blossom. Unlike the musky original EDT, Classique Intense is very bright, which does bring to mind Elie Saab le Parfum and its intense version minus the deep amber base, as well. Afterwards, the fragrance doesn't change much. Vanilla becomes slightly more prominent as the flowers gradually mellows, but the drydown is still undoubtedly dominated by florals.

The sillage is moderate and the longevity is around 9 hours. I'd recommend it as a shiny white floral fragrance to those who are relatively more tolerant of intense sweetness, as the brightness and the sugary intensity of Classique Intense can be a bit too shrill to some, especially at the beginning.

Ilprofumo

Classique Intense is rich, luscious, warm, and sexy. Like it better than original Classique which I wear. I would purchase CI only if I knew it for sure it isn't a limited edition, eg. " here to stay long term ". Will wait before I invest.

Ms. Cherie

JPG fragrances have never disappointed me and neither does this one. First of all, it is nothing like its predecessors. It starts out sharp and fruity for the first half hour (kind of makes your nose tingle) and then it mellows out to a sweet AND bitter floral. Tiare remains the dominant note with vanilla and patchouli in the background. It is absolutely beautiful and a welcome addition to the Classique line. Thank you Mr. K.

ginawadsworth

Well I finally got a chance to try this and the jury is still out deciding.

It is certainly fascinating, and goes through several stages to the final beautiful base notes.

Initially I was Oh, sumptuous beginning, yes I can wear this, but the sales assistant said she had the same impression and suggested I wait until I finally decide.

Within about 30 minutes it went fruity on me, and I knew I had smelt this before.... Pleasures bloom. Sure enough when I got home I sprayed some Pleasures bloom on my other wrist and they are indeed similar.

Later on I sensed a change to more vanilla and sugar but in the cloying way that the original is.

Finally the drydown is masterful. However I still think this has a bit of a Euphoria touch as they share pomegranate which is long lasting.

Longevity is excellent lasting over 24 hours on me.

I will just have to decide do I want something that shares properties in other perfumes or look for something completely new.

After testing a lot of magnificent, uber-expensive (and sometimes pretentious) scents at Pitti Fragranze I felt the need to visit a regular fragrance shop to relax a bit: I just wanted to try some new launches I almost forgot about and, honestly, I wasn't expecting to find anything interesting. Wrong! This new flanker of the iconic Jean Paul Gaultier Classique is definitely a swooning-worth fragrance to me: a gourmand floral with a deliciously exotic twist that’s so, so far from the usual beachy/suntan scents and quite different from anything I tested recently in the same category.
Way more scrumptious and sultrier than I expected (given Classique is a nice fragrance but nothing I would rave about now), Intense is an irresistible concoction of creamy florals, succulent fruits and nectarous vanilla that provides a soothing and relaxed feeling: just imagine to sit on a smooth silky sofa on a lazy summer afternoon, picking sugared ripe fruits from a large cup while a tropical breeze enters through window’s curtains, and the smell of the tiare-vanilla body butter you’ve just applied melts with that of your skin.
Intense feels like a hymn to life’s pleasures, an invite to enjoy beautiful moments with the surrounding of someone we love, perhaps Mr. Kurkdjian’s homage to femininity… either way, I am seriously in love with it!

Top notes make the most beautifully done and unique part of Intense: upon spraying I am instantly captured by a semi-sweet fruity blast that feels both bright and warm like a freshly made marmalade prepared in a sunny garden, and its melting with the buttery, smooth tiare produces an aroma more belonging to a bakery than to a fragrance. Oh my, such an opening may be worth the purchase by itself for someone who craves sweet exotic florals! (I am sure this Edp would make a perfect substitute for sunbeams on a rainy gloomy day in winter, it made me smile when I first tested it).
This heavenly blend doesn’t morphs into something totally different in the middle phase, where the sparkling and joyous vibe displayed in the top notes progressively makes room for a relaxed and sensuous creaminess with the entering of orange blossom and the supporting jasmine.
I would like to point out that, at least to me, the rendition of orange blossom in Intense shows very few similarities with that of Classique: while I couldn’t detect any fruity juiciness in the original version, where orange blossom was quite heady and powdery in a typical Nineties way, the floral arrangement in the heart of Intense flanker seems to convey a luscious and moist aura around the wearer, resulting in a very natural texture (my skin seems to amplify the fruity aspects by the way, and I am surprised to get hints of banana-tropical dessert in the heart).
A more evident link to Classique can be easily found in the white floral and vanilla main accord that shows mostly in the drydown, although vanilla in Intense feels much foodier, almost milkshake-y at times, with the softest touch of patchouli to keep the composition grounded until it fades into an inviting, very delicate but tenacious vanilla-fruity skin scent. Longevity and sillage are both very good, I would say Intense is about in the same range of Classique Edp flanker in these respects.

Although I am well aware there’s nothing terribly unique here, I would rate Intense as one of the most pleasant scents I have encountered lately: rich, soothing, sexy and well balanced in yumminess and elegance, this Edp brings to my mind the image of a woman who is passionate and loves to indulge in pleasures and life's good things, being smart enough not to get overwhelmed by them. She may look like a sweet temptress, but she's not a doll at all.
(And did I say I love it?)

clausa

I expected nothing of this perfume as a fan of jean paul gaultier, I have a complete collection of torsos and this for me is the most simple, smells like generic perfume reminds other brands like dior, armani, etc do not understand the lack of originality is not a perfume I fell is fruity with kilos of patchouli and finally vanilla is simple, I believe that today designer brands are focused on selling generic perfume sweet and are forgetting that behind all of them are we collector hoping perfume quality and well made sorry for this perfume I would have liked to have it in my collection but it is not worthy, but good fixation !!! happens .... Francis Kurkdjian.

Note: The bottle is beautiful !!

jamaral

Perfume enjoyable with good fixation but without being special. A little disappointed because I expected more.

goldiloks

Reminds me too much of Loverdose to really be anything special. I adore Classique EDT and EDP, but this doesn't share the same magic. It's nice enough, but I've smelled it before. If you find Loverdose too sweet, this might be just the ticket for you.

auroramaria

Finally tested. Intense today. I sprayed my hand at 3pm and. I can still smell it clearly. It is a beautiful addition to the. Classique line! It opens with lots of tiare.which dominates the scent for the first half hour or so from then on it gets sweeter and brighter with lovely vanilla and orange blossoms. The sweetnes here is not cloying it is very bright . It is rather heady and intoxicating cannot wait to wear it when the weather is colder. It is very feminine and sensual it smells great!

polkadot27

This is the chiselled, defined, perfected version of what I believe JPG was truly trying to perfect and portray all of these years. Right, now I love most of the JPG fragrances, however the whole line and feel for me so far have been fizzy and cashmere like. They have had that little something you cant put your finger on, but this has always been done in a soft edgy fizzy kind of way. I feel like JPG was trying to make a classic unique scent with a uniqueness but when adding in that uniqueness it lost sort of its classique.? If that makes sense. What I'm trying to say is even though beautiful lovely fragrances have been made, I don't believe as of yet that the balance was right in making what was to be aspired; a truly classy, intensified late 80s early 90s scent. That is until now. This is heavy, its heady. on first spray its actually offensive unlike any of the other JPG, just like those 80s/90s fragrances were. This is intentional though. You don't think quirky, you don't think cutesy. You don't think pink cashmere sweaters and neutrality with this one. You think strong, straight faced classy, independent woman who has her sh*t together basically. She knows what she wants, she knows where she's going. But oh she isn't single minded, she knows there might be failure, she knows she may have to adapt, detour or even trade in her dream for another. But she is motivated, action orientated and wants to be successful. she strives and she accomplishes and all the while remains classy and dignified and extremely womanly while doing so.

It goes without saying the silage and lasting power are really good with this one. I think JPG has finally achieved what was set out to be achieved with this one. It just feels right.

Lexy656612

The Drydown of this perfume is very similar to flowerbomb. It's a strong sweet sexy feminine scent. It's just so moreish ! Hours after the first spray and you can still smell it ! Pure perfection !!

antonpan

A pure beauty. A strong mix of orange blossom and jasmine with a vanilla background. However, it doesn't smell like a flanker of the regular JPG Classique, being closer to a sweeter version of Elie Saab or in the middle of Elie Saab and Elie Saab Intense. 100% Kukdjian style.

miss mills

Hmm...this is a real va va voom perfume! I can barely smell the old Classique beneath the crashing wave of tiare and jasmine in the opening notes. Vanilla comes next, joined by patchouli and something insanely sweet which sticks to the skin when the rest disappears. This reminds me sooo much of Alien Absolute though the notes are different. They're of a similar ilk, much like two insanely popular rock bands duelling it out for the headline at a festival. This would stand out in a crowd in a club or as a signature. Intense is the right word for it, this will definitely make an impression! Not sure it's for me but I'd love to smell it on someone else!

Lexy656612

This is sexuality on a bottle. Wearing this scent a woman can feel so alluring and fabulous !! Such a delicious smell. I NEED it !!!

canadianpetite

Tiare! That note dominates over the seamless blend of lovely jasmine, soft patchouli and sweet vanilla. Very strong fume in the first hour but gets sweetly yummy and lightly floral afterwards. Hubby likes it too.

One spray on me:
Sillage: 6 inches
Longevity: in 6 hours, nose to wrist (or wonderful surprise for hubby when he nuzzles in)
Rating: 4/5

momtoeve

I think i love this fragrance! My signiture fragrance was the original Miss Dior Cherie. This has a similar energy to that fragrance. Sweet, but not vanilla sugary sweet. It is very unique! Love it !

Obssessed!

I like it, its pretty much just a sweeter, less powdery version of the original. I love the bottle design and the scent. I find it fairly strong, it stayed on my neck all day i could smell it every time i turned my head, its pleasant however.

Domenica23

I am in love with this perfume. Eau de Parfum it must be, however my latest buy of this one was a deception! The shop didn't take it back, although it is a huge bottle, it was a sale and the problem is: one can hardly smell it. Since the smell is actually deadly good, I went back with the coupon, but they said it is the smell, which I do not believe. Hoping my boyfriend will buy me a new bottle somewhere else, it is absolutely a wonderful perfume, so sexy and sweet.

giorgio 223

tested it today,,, what can i say,,, its different nothing with great classique,, only name, i promise you it will be very popular,, because its modern, light and strong together,, lasting power good sillage also,,very aromatic!!!

Germany

I would agree with BRIGHT INTENSE SOLAR ORIENTAL but I would also add FRUITY and GOURMAND . Its nice, I like it. I much prefer it to the original which I still like and brings back memories of the 80 s or 90s and my older sister .
This version is much brighter as mentioned. Its sunny and reminds of sunshine and summertime , due to the suntanning/ tropical smell of tiare and ripe fruit , a dash of vanilla and patchouli. It smells like a fruitchouli , comparable to Armani SI and some summer angel and (alien fankers ) minus the chocolate.
It starts with a sharp bite ,this is the part I least enjoy , the pomegranate and jasmine, jasmine a note I do not like , but then it turns more orangey, vanillic and patch , Its fun and easy to wear. I think its a great addition to this line. I really enjoy it.

chrisndema

This flanker is nothing like the original. I'm dissapointed with it coz its just smells like Viva la Juicy which i quite honestly detest! To each his own. But i think they should have marketed it under a different name..........the bottle detail is a WOW tho!

genny17

I am glad it isn't like the original which I found musty, this is bright, feminine, definitely a solar fragrance with the tiare, it starts off with the pomegranate which has a strong bitter edge, I would add to my nose it is in the top notes that it resembles the original the most, but it doesn't last, it becomes very fast a bright and cheerful scent, warm, I don't know if it is intense so much, it isnt like the original, it is more likable, more modern, pretty, and a tad mysterious, it has a different aura no doubt! After trying the sample I am happy I bought a full bottle!i will add it doesn't have intense projection but it lingers nicely around me!! Very very nice!
I think in cooler weather the oriental character will come out more.

Shwets

Reminds me of Alien summer or something similar....nothing original or like the original.

Etalb1111

The original was my signature for a long time followed by Angel and then woods were my thing - but now this! I'm in love - I can't quite discern the top notes but it's sweet and loud initially - drying down into patch and rose slightly powdery with amazing longevity. I'm a big patch and rose fan and for me Intense is a gourmand beginning that divinely travels into the oriental and it lasts on my skin! Having been wearing super expensive armani cuir amethyst and Robert piguet - this jpg has equal strength and the notes transform for a delicious experience - it's a hit for me. I love to smell my scent all around me and felt enveloped with this - a modern fragrance but with a hint of the original - I have not smelt anything like this. It's a individual in my collection of over 100 frags. A dreamy creation Mr fk.

ImAddicted

I was surprised when I found it on sale at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. I thought it would only be out in the market by the end of 2014. Amazing scent! Not cloying at all! I expected it to be very overpowering, since Classique is already intense, but I was positively surprised. I get a very warm vanilla base from the first spray until the dry down. I detected a little bit of orange blossom and roses, but no ginger at all. I would describe it as a warm, a little powdery and rosy vanilla scent. Couldn't stop sniffing my wrists and the sampler paper. Very long lasting, but not super strong sillage. It's just right!

blueviolet

To Musky4,I agree it could work better in cold weather, despite the summery tiare note.
Auroramaria, hope you like when you find it . It's wonderful to find a new love!

auroramaria

Thank you Musky4 and Blueviolet for your reviews I crave the new Classique intense, at least now i know it's quite heavy and tiare note is prominent, the problem with tiare is that when is used too much in perfums it can be very heady and take over anything else anyway can't wait to test CI

Musky4

Thank you blueviolet for letting us know Debenhams were already stocking this. I tried it today and don't recommend wearing it in this heat! It really can be described as intense… it's very strong indeed, but for me, not in a good way. It's quite overwhelming and one note is very dominant, although I'm not sure which one (probably the tiare as blueviolet suggests). I can definitely detect the original Classique in there, but sadly I can't say that I've enjoyed wearing this today. Definitely a perfume for cooler weather, but not one that I'll be buying.

blueviolet

I founf this in debenhams today. Initially it's very sweet and cosy. Then the horror shows up.TIARE. Had I known I would have stayed clear. Shame, otherwise it could be a winner. So if you like tiare, without the beachy suntan lotion, this could be for you. All I get is tiare tiare tiare. Seems to last as well.

ForrealMe2

I am really looking forward to trying this because besides Hypnotic Poison EDP this is the only other one this year that i so dearly wanted to try...i hope its not that bad cause i love the first one :( i was hoping the pomegranate would of really made this one a new favorite as pomegranate is one of my favorite notes in gourmands...

Winterspring

This is so not worth it. Sugar sweet with 10 min longevity on my skin.

Musky4

auroramaria - I'm also really eager to try this! The UK launch date I have is 28th July, so hopefully we'll be seeing it soon!

Adiro

That is one I cannot wait to try!!!!

genny17

Looking forward a Gaultier creation!! His perfumes are full of character, very distinctive!!

emilianods75

Another one of this????? OMG someone give JPG a new idea for Christ sake! Same thing as usual. Sweet. And nothing else out of the ordinary. I think classique time has past!

giorgio 223

i think it will be the same like classique edp and little bit deeper, but all jpg fragrances are wonderful, very feminine, elegant, and the bottles are gorgeous!!!! I have a friend girl who wears original classique edt, when im with her im happy..... love this fragrance and all the versions of classique!!!! thank you jean paul!!!
