Classique Betty Boop Eau Fraiche by Jean Paul Gaultier is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. Classique Betty Boop Eau Fraiche was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Daphné Bugey. Top notes are Sorbet, Sugar Cane, Ginger and Lemon; middle notes are Tiare Flower, Orange Blossom and Jasmine; base notes are Vanilla, Musk and Labdanum.

In 2016, two new limited editions are being introduced in the summery format of Eau Fraiche. The new releases are inspired by the popular characters from comics and cartoons; Popeye the Sailor Man, created by Elzie Crisler Segar in 1929, adorns the Le Male Eau Fraîche edition, while the face of Classique Eau Fraîche is Betty Boop, created in 1930 by Max Fleischer.

The scent of a bouquet of white flowers, good enough to eat, of the new Classique Eau Fraîche Limited Edition Betty Boop takes you to the extravagant world of Jean Paul Gaultier. The composition opens with lemon sorbet, ginger and sugar cane juice. Its floral heart includes exotic tiara, jasmine and orange blossom. The base features warm notes of vanilla, musk and neo-labdanum. Betty Boop is shown as a cabaret dancer - lustful, voluptuous and a sexy femme fatale of free spirit.

Available as a 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

I have the JPG EAU Fraichê André and I love it!

I am wondering if the other flankers of Fraichê like Airlines, Wonder Woman and Betty Boop smells exactly the same, and just the bottle is different or the scent is also different between them?

Does anyone know?

I had it, but gave it away as it was waaay to sweet for me. It actually made me sick, and I only sprayed 1 very light on my wrist. For some reason i enjoyed the smell from the bottle and was stupid enough to not try it on me before I bought. Way to sweet, and sickening on me, and not in a candy or gourmand way, but like you made syrup from various white flowers and sugar with a dash of vanilla. No fresh citrus on me.

I smell lots of ginger in the opening, along with lemon sorbet and light white florals, with the florals get much stronger as it dries down. I recently purchased the Andre Eau Fraiche, so I'm interested to see if they smell the same or are slightly different!

Strangely, this smells very similar to Olympea to me! (From the "reminds me of", I also agree it's in a similar vein to "Beach Walk" and "Vanilla Vibes".)

I love JPG and like getting limited fragrance deals in EU at the Duty Free stores during the summer. That is when I picked this one up. It is like JPC Classique and an Orange Julius drink had a baby and then slapped you in the face with it. It is so strong to wear in the summer time, but refreshing and I love it!

Sorry. The bottle is gorgeous but it is the least favorite perfume in my collection. It is heavy and ...... just nasty. It reminds me of Giorgio from the 1980s. I heartily disliked that one too. I remember girls buying a knock-off scent, Primo? It made high school classes rough because they were wearing heavy doses of it. Ugh. I love all the listed notes but this just does work for me. And in an ironic twist, this is by far the longest lasting perfume I own.

Edit: WTH happened? Years later and I try it again this week..... and now I like it? This makes no sense. It is not love, but it is a ‘like.’. I paid a lot for it so this is definitely a good thing. And the bottle is still gorgeous to me.

I have been trying to think how to describe this fragrance for you who are looking to blind buy it as I did, since finding a sample is so difficult. I ended up seeing it on Facebook marketplace and grabbed a bottle after being tempted by eBay, though turned off by the high prices people wanted for it. I would say I could describe it best by saying it's kind of like a 'summer' version of Classique. It is like the original Classique mixed with a fragrance like Light Blue. The first blast is almost pure Classique and then it lightens and freshens to reveal a very light summery fragrance. If you are looking for what I would describe as a summer version of the heavy Classique fragrance I think you would like it. I wonder if anyone else has the intense version and noticed that it doesn't smell at all like the original Classique and ironically is not as intense as a perfume? Well rest assured that at least this perfume is a lighter version of Classique so that if you like the notes of Classique you will get them in a lighter form. I hope that helps with deciding!

I love everything about this fragrance, the sweet-musky scent, the bottle, right down to the packaging! It is gorgeous, my favourite JPG of all time. I'm a huge fan of the Betty Boop and pin up style so the near-empty bottle is displayed proudly on my dressing table. My only wish would be for it to last a little bit longer on the skin as it is an all time favourite scent.

Very, very heavy and sweet. The scent is nice albeit very sugary but frankly it's so heavy the whole room smells of it after a single spray.

Southern Blonde

Big Betty Boop fan as I've dressed up as Betty at events and entertained audiences with my boo boo bee doo. There are cheap Betty Boop perfumes for children but this is a much more grown up gourmand scent and smells like a delicious lemon sorbet, like a vanilla ice cream. It's still easy to wear for young girls whether kids or teens although the floral accords of jasmine and Tiare and orange blossom give it a bit of a maturity. I love tiare flowers and this is an exquisite white floral. The dry down is vanilla. Simple, sweet and flirty. I love it. If you like the original Classique this still has some traces of it: ginger, orange blossom, and vanilla. Smells wonderful.

Just like the classique EDP, this is quite soapy and sweet upon the first spray but the difference is that it dries down to reveal floral and smoke-musk undertones, the most prominent notes being vanilla and jasmine imo. I do not smell the ginger, and the citrus notes are very light As unappealing as it sounds, it smells alot like cotton candy, but mature and sophisticated. When you first spray it on it smells so clean, fresh, and delicious, perfect for casual summer days. I would not wear this to the office though. My main complaint on this is that the sillage is next to nothing and it faded within 10 minutes of the first spray. It stays on my skin so that I can smell it throughout the morning, but by afternoon it's almost completely gone. This would be perfect if it stayed as bright as the first spray. I would recommend anyone who is a fan of the classique edp get this scent as it's much more wearable in the summer but only you or someone close to you will be able to smell it.

Perfection. Someone suggested Olive Oyl should have been the face of this perfume instead of Betty Boop. You have got to be kidding me! Where Olive is clumsy, clutsy, dependant on Popeye and has no chic charisma, I cannot imagine Olive as a caberet dancer, darlings, can you? Bravo, we have Independant, sexy, carefree Miss Boop representing this fragrance, and so she should! The people responsible for the Current Betty Boop fragrances have let us completely down with their awful concoctions that they place inside those fun novelty Boop perfume bottles. I have a few of them for display purposes. They are fun in design, I only spray the perfume from them as pest control of pesky bugs in the summer that may wander into my boudoir at times! It's that bad!
So now the iconic Betty has a scent that interprets women that share her unique character! Sassy, fresh, feminine, girly, gorgeous and bright spirited! I think Popeye has his eye on Betty, you know what I mean *wink wink lol! Sorry Olive! You just don't have IT stay with Moschino, a great playground for perfumes. In a fun kooky way of course.

I loooooove this scent, it surprised me. Great for the warmest weather, great for feeling fresh and happy. Great for the Betty-in-you-Boop-ooo-ee-doop!

Love this! Has so much character. Sophisticated and classic nuances yet easy to wear. I can't sort out the notes at all. Lily, spice, vanilla and a touch of white rose were my guesses before I saw the pyramid.

Ms. Cherie

This is very nice! It's different than previous summer versions because it's a summer version of Classique Intense. Lasts a long time.

If anyone has a bottle of this to swap, please PM me! (My mom is a huge Betty Boop fan, it would be a present for her.)

I was able to try this fragrance today. I will let you know now that I've never smelled any Jean Paul Gaultier fragrances before so I cannot compare this fragrance to the others...
At first sniff all I could smell was artichoke! My friends thought I was crazy. Maybe I am. I tried my best to rid the thought of artichokes from my head and really focus on the true notes of the fragrance I definitely smelled the lemon sorbet. Perhaps it was that with the floral notes that give it the green almost vegetal scent. The ginger is also there but not strong. The vanilla comes through after a few minutes and I have to say it is quite nice.
The bottle is also cute.
I would wear this myself. Nice for spring and summer.

Valy in the sky

Unlike the last two summer editions this one smells a lot like the original edt but it's fresh and not as cloying as the edt (which I dislike)...need to test it again, might buy it....also because I love Betty Boop and the bottle is sooo cute! I tested it on the back of my hand and longevity is pretty good for an eau fraiche (on paper strip it's still strong after three-four days)!
