I got a sample of Terre d'Hermès Parfum, and I personally like it more than the EDT. I find that it is simply more rounded, which, from my experiences, seems to appeal the general public more. It lasted the whole day on my skin, so I guess the longevity of this fragrance depends on the person. Overall, this is something I will definitely wear to formal occasions, as well as in the spring, fall, and possibly the winter seasons.

StunningSamuel

A darker take on the original. Same charisma, same class, same usage. Redundant, but that's doesn't mean it's bad, just means it's not worth having both the original and this one unless you're a collector. Pick the one that appeals to you. Nevertheless, a good release by Hermes!

Namingway_

Original and well-made, but too "mineral" for me (rubbed flint) and the longevity and sillage are too light for an EdP.

Useful details : english is not my mother tongue and my opinions are copied and pasted from my personal notes, written on the fly after several phases of testing (tracking changes for several hours on blotters, then on my skin for a day).

RobHillSF

i like the chemical smell.

Yay_Or_Nay

Both the OG and the parfum, from a scent-profile standpoint, are pretty good. However, don't fall victim to the online hype because these have been watered down drastically over time. I recently bought a new bottle of the parfum version, from Nordstrom, as i used up my previous bottle..and holy crap, this is now a skin scent after 30-45 minutes. I am so disappointed with what they have done to TDH...it smells great still but i am not going to carry a big bottle around so i can reapply every hour...seriously, you might want to consider getting something else within the same genre that lasts at least 3-4 hours? Not the same scent profile, but a very good day to day parfum i really enjoy (especially for office wear) is Sauvage parfum. It smells the best within the sauvage line up and i swear it last all day on my skin with a ln elbows length projection for the first 2 or 3 hours (after that it becomes a skin scent, but it does last all day, so at least you know you smell good)

brandonf

This is definitely my favorite so far! I’m in love! I always want to smell it, and I personally get some decent floral notes along with the citrus. It starts and finishes incredible. I haven’t done a full soaking but I’d say it lasts for about 6 hours well, depending on your environment.

JohnPFrag

i really like this! its very earthy and natural smelling not synthetic at all IMO, this perfume does lean to the more mature(ish) smell and as a 17yr old i dont wear it that much, mostly to formal/professional events. overall a solid 7/10 great perfumery! (ABSOLUTELY NOT A SAFE BLIND BUY!) for those wondering ;)

ThingsMingle

im newish to trying fragrances, but this one is just not for me. If you want to smell like grandpa, it's for you.

Incredible fragrance. The original Terre is my most worn fragrance. This is a true parfum flanker. Just a richer, deeper, and bold take on the original. The original Terre still performs great on my skin despite reformulation rumors. Maybe one day I'll switch to this, when I'm older. Both this and the original are my favorites of the line.

Oldchief61

"What is that you're wearing?" asked the older woman at the bank counter. I had applied 2 sprays of Hermes edp 2 hours earlier and she was picking up my scent as I stepped up to the counter. "I have to get this for my husband" she said as she wrote it down. So yeah, Hermes edp has some teeth.

The Orange and Grapefruit is quite prominent early in and the Flint comes through later with a subtle, industrial-like mineral/oily vibe, but it works; kind of like Cary Grant carrying a pair of brass knuckles in his pocket. The sillage hangs in the air like it was suspended by cables on my skin. Normally, fragrances don't last long on my dry skin but Hermes edp performs well. Very elegant and sophisticated scent that retains a little of the Flint through the drydown which finishes with woods and resinous, Vanilla-ish, Benzoin. Good stuff!

BLUDZEN

Gorgeous, gorgeous perfume. Very mature scent that has that sweet touch due to the orange top note with a beautiful blast of fresh moss mixed with the smoothness of the flint. The longevity and projection are very low however, 5 hours at max. I might need to let it macerate for a while to get the desired potency.

Edit: It has gotten better, however the performance is still not as potent as I thought it would be. Nonetheless, I accept it as it is because the scent is just too good.

Inangahua

The story.
I bought a 2ml sample of the EDT. I fell in love. Generally I only sprayed it on the back of my left hand so I could smell it when I wanted to economise so the 2ml lasted until a 5ml arrived. I've spent so much on samples lately I can't go full hog on a bottle at this time. This 5ml was one of 5 samples in a Feeling Sexy sample pack. I tried the other 4 samples first. Thought well I know what Terre D'Hermes smells like. Then the others faded a bit so I sprayed the TDH. WTF! Has this been watered down? What's going on? How could it be so different, so muted? Where has the zing I love gone? Then I noticed something I hadn't noted before. On the side of the sample sprayer it said parfum. 🤯 Damn! I never realised there was a parfum version. But aren't parfums supposed to be better?
Right now I feel a bit deflated. I've got Terre D' Herme and I haven't got Terre D'Herme. I used the last of the EDT in a full body points spray earlier today thinking the calvary had already arrived. The parfum is just not the same. There is a faint echo to me of the EDT. That's all. Maybe it will grow on me but it's super disappointing. I'm sick and tired of so many of the 'classics' I'm trying for the first time being muted, barely there. I want a smell that SMELLS. That gives me lasting pleasure. The EDT gave me that, this doesn't. It's boring in comparison.

Oh well, back to the drawing board.

llineis

Beautiful, nature like smell. Appealing citreus notes with earthy notes. I really love it. On the other hand longevity should be better. Dissapear after 4 hours at most.

Faust9

10 hours longevity 4 feet projection. Mature and wealthy. Similar to EDT. One of the best designer summer fragrances.

cvaile

This is definitely a smoother variation of the core DNA - if there is an unlisted patchouli in here, it's very toned down as compared to the EDT (which makes sense with the lack of pepper if they intend to polish the rough edges of the original) resulting in the earthiness being more rounded out. The emphasized benzoin struck me immediately by how much more resinous sweetness this has. This has the effect of pushing the orange note to the juicier side of the scale and away from the distinctly rindish side as per the EDT.

As the EDT is very much a love-it-or-hate-it scent, this one will be much more of a crowd-pleaser IMO. Agree with the comments about the lower projection.

kanaerion47

Smells the same as the EDT to me.

Subhuman

If the eau de toilette is too sharp and spiky for you with all that bracing bergamot and deafening gunpowder, check out this one, surely at least partially responsible for the glut of “parfum” concentrations marketed to men in the last decade or so. There is still that woody-orange freshness and contrasting flint, but Terre d’Hermès Parfum lowers the volume and bolsters the drydown with stronger resins, oakmoss, cedar, and leather. It leans harder into classic masculine chypre territory, ironically a breath of fresh air in these times of nuclear woody ambers and burnt-sugar salvos. The lasting power is excellent but it stays close to the skin, so you needn’t be afraid of gassing anyone out. Worth whatever you end up paying for it (although check the discounters first - this stuff is widely available and, like everything else at full retail, wildly overpriced). Also, ignore the “only for OLDER MATURE MEN” comments from clueless fragbros radiating the latest Aventus knockoff. Terre d'Hermès was released in 2009, not the goddamn Gilded Age. I was happily wearing it at 25, along with millions of other young men, and it's still one of my diehard favorites. If it works for you, it works really well, and your age has nothing to do with it. Own that shit.

Drfrag

Earthy over-ripened oranges. Good longitivity but below average projection.

SchmeatloafRD1

smells like if you went on a hike in the woods and you brought like 13 oranges to snack on.

Dylanturek

First time testing this classic. It's nice and extremely wearable for the office. The Vetiver note in the opening is much less earthy than I was expecting based on all the comments I heard before trying it out. I can't speak much to its longevity, but the sillage is moderate at best and the scent is mostly linear so far. I would buy a full bottle but I already have one or two fragrances that sort of fit fill this need and I don't think there's enough here to distinguish itself. It might sound strange to someone else's nose, but to me, I get a lot of similarities with Nishane Wu-long Cha. Similar powdery citrus dry down only this has the Vetiver note, which is a nice addition. The Vetiver note also reminds me a bit of Gentlemen Only by Givenchy, which is way less powdery and more of a pronounced Vetiver with floral notes. To me, I like that fragrance way better as the soft, powdery citrus thing is starting to get a bit redundant and boring. Not saying anyone else will have the same opinion or shouldn't feel great wearing this: by all means, it's a beautiful scent and extremely well blended. It's a classic for a reason and whoever wears it should feel good doing so! I think my preferences have shifted a bit this winter and while I love the woody-iris kind of "powder", I'm starting to get tired of all the fragrances I own and test that eventually end up smelling to me like baby powder or a moist towelette.

Lambrecht

Leans older. Not bad at all, but wouldn’t use it if below the age of 28

perfumeduhu

It is a less edgy and more refined version of the EDT. A bit more safe for work for example. Simply amazing. Sophisticated, fresh, but maintains depth. You’d think there’d be some other citrus scent out there smelling like this, but it’s still unique. Be careful with the sprays, you go noseblind to this quickly because of the ISO super. Take a break for some weeks if you can’t smell it anymore after 2 sprays. It’s definitely there.

BigDurian

Vetiver dominate fragrances and my skin generally don’t get along. This is why I never got a bottle of Terre D’Hermes EDT. Even though the EDT has my favorite opening of all time. The dry-down just didn’t work on me.

While smelling almost identical the the EDT… the Parfum, on the other hand, mitigates the vetiver just enough to where it does work on my skin. At the cost of reducing slightly the “WOW!” orange opening of the EDT.

Overall… It’s a worth while trade off. As the citruses (I get more grapefruit than orange) last much longer. With hints of them lasting into the dry-down.

The Parfum is a must have for me. It smells really good, longevity is above average, but projection is a bit soft (though not bad). Definitely bottle worthy.

Tripokaridos

I have perfumes from TF, Xerjoff,Gucci and many other brands that I love , BUT Terre parfume is my precious my other half.

c.bigmac

This fragrance was a complete impulse buy, I tested it in Harvey Nichols earlier in the day and found it for sale online shortly after and couldn't not buy it! Immediately after the first spray you're hit with a beautiful, spicy and warm scent that fills the room (could easily be a 1 spray a day for people that want to be a bit more subtle) but settles to have underlying sweet and citrusy notes that commands class. It is one of the best impulse buys I have made in a long time! there's no need to reapply throughout the day and it has such a rich and decadent scent that it makes you want to sit in an old leather armchair with a cigar and a scotch. Amazing fragrance and will definitely be a new A/W staple for me!

BalkanFragranceLover

It is exactly what you think it is - more concentrated version of the original Terre d'Hermes. It does not differ in the scent whatsoever, except whatever changes the fact that it is pure parfum concentration makes - feels more "oily" to the nose, a bit more syrupy too, but that's it really.
Is it worth paying twice the price to get over the original? From practical standpoint - hell no, it's the same thing - just less diluted. It's not a flanker, it's not a different version of the DNA, if you are looking for something that changes the OG that you love into some new direction, this ain't it.
If you however, absolutely love the original, it is your signature scent, and you want to bathe in it and you are a collector and the price is not a subject for you when picking scents for your collection - it is absolutely worth it, its among the top the designer world has to offer. Hell, i think it puts most of the PdM catalogue to shame, while being still slightly cheaper.

JusttheFactsMan

#485 in my "Tour de Fragrance"

I purchased a bottle of this based on the addition of amber and moss to the original formula which I found completely unlikeable and sour, like spraying myself with "ReaLemon." And there's no doubt the amber and moss improve on the basic DNA for me. But not enough for me to warm up to it. I get that people like citrus freshies, and so do I, but they don't have to come off all dry, harsh and astringent like this. A little musk, a little lavender, some soft spices, some sweetness. I love Indian River Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice, but the unsweetened white grapefruit juice in the Terre scents just repels me. I know I'm swimming against the current on this as Terre D'Hermes is clearly very popular, and for those that love it, God bless, but I'd rather wear any Tommy Bahama, Antonio Banderas, David Beckham, Cuba Paris, okay maybe not Cuba Paris, but I just don't like this stuff. It's not offensive, but it's attraction will forever remain a mystery to me.

Haisul

It smells heavenly. Fresh and it persistswit great longevity.

As a vetiver lover I would like more vetiver like the Hemes intense Vetiver rather than this one but, if you're not a vetiver lover, you might find it in a perfect balance with everything and noticable persistence for the ingredients or whatever special techniques to make it a very perfum strength.

I think it is good for a blind buy includingly.

NecessaryExistence

This is great for those who like the Terre D’Hermes DNA. It’s more smoothed out compared to the EDT. It’s arguably more versatile as well - suitable basically all year round, day and night, ideal for office, dates and even formal events. It’s elegant. It has a slight sweetness, is slightly syrupy and less dry compared to the EDT. I don’t detect a strong presence of vetiver in this one. Personally if I could only pick one, I would choose the EDT. The EDT is just much more interesting and fresh. But this is by no means redundant. I love the DNA, so this will be well used by me.

Update: Feb 3, 2024: I’ve gone back and forth on whether I like this one. I absolutely prefer the EDT and think it is definitely superior. Anyone who says the parfum is simply a stronger version of the EDT is dead wrong in my opinion. However, I do like the Parfum and it has its place. The parfum is more versatile. For a time I couldn’t stand it and was contemplating getting rid of it, but I realise it was because I was spaying too much under my nose that it was bothering me. It’s much better smelling this in the air, so be careful not to overspray or spray in the wrong places.

TommyAkira

I cannot live without this fantastic fresh perfume.

Hennessy909

On everyone else it smells great
On me ... it's disgusting. It's about my skin, I guess.

nihilistgodzillas

Tested it multiple times, I get its appeal and like it myself, but my girl told me it smells like the fridge's veggie drawer and I also get a heavy dose of, whoever visited a street farmers market can recognize, pungent expired produce that can be smelled in the air once they close up shop.

That being said It's an interesting fragrance nonetheless, good for the right people that can pull it off, although I prefer the EDT, found it to be more wearable and meshed better with my skin.

Tripokaridos

I have all Terre line, EDT more bright more silage, EDP more elegant darker smaller silage but more lasting . I prefer EDP.

PapaTLooch

Nice, but EDT is far more interesting with the pepper and patchouli.

1josh90

@gretta 100% a woman could wear this, so long as she is not shy ;)

TDH Parfum is a wonderful frag. It loses the sharp pepper of the OG...but right now I'm undecided if that's a good thing or not. I want to buy a TDH, and the OG and Eau Givree seem to be more worthwhile money wise. Parfum projects somewhere between poorly and moderately and is probably best sprayed on clothes. OG is a little sharp with the pepper and might offend some people, while Eau Givree retains the DNA while being very, very fruity. Think I'll go with Eau Givree and wear it in the spring/summer.

audreyg

The citrus here leans towards the grapefruit and goes a bit screechy for me. Very reminiscent of bug spray, unfortunately. After the scent dries down on the skin a bit the vetiver comes out and the citrus retreats and warms just a little. The dry down about 30 minutes after spraying and on is extremely similar to Serge Lutens Bapteme de Feu, in my opinion. I'm glad I didn't full bottle this as I already own a full bottle of Bapteme de Feu and prefer it anyways.

Overall, okay frag. Not really deep enough for me but I may wear this over the summer or layered with some oud/tobacco/smoke/etc.

gretta

Guys - I just smelled this for the first time. It's BEAUTIFUL. Can a woman wear this? What do y'all think??

SeanConnery

Its my cheap denim original powered up, and more classier, but 10x price.

Camazing

Really nice fragrance. I think more like fresh juice of a deep dark orange and a slightly metallic, resinous sweet quality. The only comparison I can make with my limited collection and knowledge, is JV artisan pure all grown up. I was afraid of this as a blind buy, but am absolutely pleased. Signature scent worthy and very versatile.

Spring24360

This is a fresh sweet orange perfume or parfum with a slight woody undertone .
Very versatile, unisex fragrance.
Long lasting when sprayed on clothes.
Signature scent worthy.
Happily adding to other great fresh fragrance collections of mine.

Lapsang

As long as we’re all allowed to have our own opinion, I find this dreadful. It smells abrasive- literally, like a powdered cleanser, Comet or Ajax. What they’re calling “flint” - is to me just a glitch - a disconnect- in what should have been a more cohesive accord. Perhaps it’s just this perfume strength and I’ll like the original.

SeanConnery

Tried this in a tester in the airport, i liked it, the more i think about it the more the memory of the smell grows on me. Very earthy....inofensive, somewhat classy for a man, but i can see a woman using it....i would say autumn, winter vibes. 100$ is a lot of dough....but a solid parfum.

osum54

Good scent, the initial spray is a very citrus bomb, but the drydown is a very rich woody citrus scent that is blended very nicely. I would recommend to try before buying though, because it may not be for everyone.

yazzakasbah

My kind of elegant freshness.

Terre is invigorating and uplifing. Never boring or bland, but won't start a revolution either, it's too well-behaved. The opening is quite forceful but its edges are soft. A round, high quality blend of beautiful- and mostly citrus. To me there's no association with anything possibly considered 'not a good perfume'. Unlike me, it is straightforward and to the point.

Strength comes from within. Terre will kindly find it for you and paint you a pretty picture, so you can show the world.

MidwestMadMan

This is quite a masculine masterpiece. I dig it.

ramanshah

A couple times in my life, there was a sniff on blotter in a store that tattooed itself on my brain, re-emerging over a decade later when I took a meaningful interest in fragrances. Terre d'Hermès is one of those - I first smelled it at the duty-free at London Heathrow in 2010.

I adore this fragrance and wouldn't want to be without it. Its beautiful, orange-and-pepper accord, somehow a little dirty and a little clean at the same time, is a major aromatherapy pick-me-up in any season. Remarkably, it remains citrusy through the end of the day instead of evolving to something really different; TdH is pretty linear. Most citrus-forward fragrances either evolve or disappear entirely, and as a citrus lover I appreciate this aspect of TdH. This Parfum is recognizably there even at 12+ hours. My lady likes it, but she likes Nicolaï New York Intense a little more. Had this tiebreaking vote gone the other way, TdH would be my signature fragrance.

There's much discussion about the EDT vs Parfum variants. In my experience, this Parfum hits a little darker, projects rather less, but lasts longer. I prefer the EDT by a hair - but just a hair. I'd easily let availability or pricing sway my decision. But then, this is a popular designer fragrance, and availability and pricing are pretty easy compared to obscure niche fragrances. That's a point of gratitude.

SimplDude

Just got my bottle. This is the amped up version of the original which I love. It has some added nuances like the amber accord that makes it more gorgeous. To me, this one is a big love ❤️ 👍

10/10 🙌

Update: 10/8

Man, this frag gives me compliments 👍 better than the edt version. A winner 🏆

ahsif

still stands tall and strong! always a pleasant experience wearing this, i usually layer this with the EDT.

Everyone has their opinion on what a masterpiece is as a fragrance. I bet you can take dump truck juice, syrup, mold, and dillute it and make it a liquid with an atomiser and someone will find it a masterpiece. I got this a long time ago cause I had a sample of the EDT and loved it.

I got this awile back and let it sit while I just made buy after buy watching all these internet and YouTube reviewers and regretted just about everyone. Few months ago I just stopped buying all fragrances, so I could condense my collection with just ones I love. Gave a lot away to family and friends. I'm done to this, and I can't say how great I love this. It's unique and that oak moss gives this scent so much density and greatness. My nose has changed so much and now it's the greats that I really appreciate. You don't see this talked about much at all.

I just seen the movie American Hustle. The part where Christian Bale's wife is talking about this perfume or nail polish and how it smells. She said it had this great smell and this like small tingle of bad, or garbage that you smell and keep coming back. I immediately thought of this and she is so right and worded it way better than me. That amazing mix of the opening citruses and it's listed here as flint in the mid but I have no clue how that fits in but the base here or dry down is just a period of the day where you just keep getting whiffs of this epic scent. If you ever want to know what oak moss does it's dominating here. Whatever they use for woodsy notes just perfect amalgam of a few ingredients to make a great scent. I always praise and greatful for those few perfumers out there that can blend minimal ingredients to get this great scent. Especially when it's something that everywhere. I highly suggest to anyone to at least get a sample.

A must have perfume!!

Venetian Tangerine

If TdH EDP is for a desert prince, the Parfum flanker is for the king of the golden palace in the middle of that desert. (p.s. the palace is enclosed in the only dry-vegetal and expensive oasis at its core).

This fragrance is one of my absolute favourite renditions of vetiver, a note that I - like many others - often struggle with in perfumes.
So, if you don't usually like vetiver but you are looking for a dry-wood elegant fragrance perfect for professional settings, this might the one just waiting for you.

Don't be misguided by the name or the gorgeous red-hued advert (best ad ever imo).
The TdH DNA (both EDT and others) is not about the 'terre-y' notes ('earthy' in French) but is rather a mineralic, granular, precise and sharp scent which by combining dry herby woods (a sunbaked vetiver and lean-dry cedar) with a mineralized accord and bright acidic citrus, creates an energising and reenergising scent juice.
TdH gives the feeling of a white/yellow-hued desert, populated by the occasional fennec, arid plant, root, rock and snake but renditioned to a truly gentlemanly sharp-woody scent (unlike the empty orange Sahara and its muscular stallion from the commercial: nothing comforting or animalic here at all!).

The parfum takes the clever TdH structure described above, gets rid of the pepperiness and refines/redefines the base by fully enriching it with resinous and masculine amber notes. The refulgent new base takes the composition to new golden royal heights, deserving of the best Arabian monarchs and their lush palaces in the middle of that bright desert or to the intellectual heights of the sharpest, smartest French gentlemen - of perhaps a mix of both, depending of your taste and interpretation. All of this while still keeping a positive, bright, dignified, awake, alert, and most of all brightly classy, cultured and sharply intelligent outlook for life.
Terre parfum is not quite a humble fragrance since it truly makes a high intellection statement (with its great performance), but it denotes a tone of discrenetness and warm composure in its solar, acute, penetratingly subtle and elegant statement-making.

Opens with a green/dry/citrus accord of grapefruity bright orange, shiso and already noticable vetiver but very quickly yet gradually transitions into the glorious core/base of the fragrance which can only be described as resinous dry-woody Gold! :
A perfect blend of precious sun-drenched veti/cedars, oakmoss undertones and the mineralic sand-like granular accord, all kept together and gold-wrapped by the glorious golden resinous sweetness of benzoin, and I think perhaps just a touch of dry sandalwood and/or IsoE to round off the ambery benzoin into the dry-woods next to it.

Elevated and citrusy, sharp and dry yet resinous and sweet. Glorious.
A perfume to wake your senses up and produce the best work of your intellectual life!

I sometimes use it instead of caffeine in the office, would not recommend before going to bed.
Maybe it's just me but I'd never use it for a night out, for me this remains a perfume to energize my mind and wake my senses.

Reliable compliment grabber, if brightening up your feelings wasn't enough.

As a long-time owner of Terre d'Hermès in its eau de toilette version, exploring the Parfum edition felt like a thrilling new chapter in my olfactory journey. Both fragrances undeniably belong to the pantheon of vetiver masterpieces, but their subtle nuances set them apart in captivating ways. Terre d'Hermès Parfum exudes a richer, more concentrated aroma that accentuates the woody and earthy facets of vetiver, lending a deeper complexity to the overall composition. The eau de toilette, on the other hand, presents a crisper and brighter interpretation, with a focus on the zesty orange and mineral notes, while maintaining the signature vetiver prominence.

The Parfum version's longevity and projection are notably superior, enveloping me in its warm embrace for hours on end, making it ideal for special occasions and colder months. On the contrary, the eau de toilette's performance is more moderate, better suited for daytime wear or milder climates. Both iterations, however, share the same core elegance and versatility that make them suitable for a variety of settings, from formal events to casual outings. In essence, Terre d'Hermès Parfum and its eau de toilette sibling complement each other like two sides of the same scented coin, offering a delightful journey through the world of vetiver, enriched by Hermès' exquisite craftsmanship.

It was good about 10 years ago, but today it's crazy to buy this one. Forget the hell about these mediocre frags. There are tons of better citrus based perfumes out there. Save your money for better ones.

it's a brilliant perfume, mature fresh clean elegant. But sadly only last a couple of hours on my skin, have to respray over & over again.

UP TO HEAVEN AND DOWN TO EARTH

Terre (Earth in French) as a fragrance, is defined by notes of ripe orange/grapefruit together with a deep earthy woody scent and a touch of a sparkle from a lighter. Open your mind and sense of smell, for the full effect of this Jean-Claude Ellena blending. It is what a well-resolved person should smell like: fresh, clean, slightly bitter, earthy, slightly spicy, sophisticated, classy, serious, grown up and mature.
This is the scent of a self-sufficient and confident man, aged 30 years and up, who doesn't need to show off in any way. He is confident of how much he is worth and has his own go-to style; That's all he needs and just sticks to it. He may use this fragrance in a board meeting room, on a night out with friends, on a romantic date, or in the bedroom, but always elegant, notable, and very classy. At the same time, he is down to earth. This fragrance just makes him stand out in a league of his own. and takes him into a cloud of distinction, whether he wears a suit or jeans and a shirt, under any weather, season, location or occasion.
It's THE classical versatile fragrance but in an extraordinarily good way! In summary, it's a very elegant "gentleman" perfume with an overall feeling of even balance, smartness and sophistication.

The fragrance general scent is natural, too natural maybe when you may expect some synthetic odours. It may be made with synthetic ingredients too, but it really stands out as something pure and clean; actually clean and dirty at the same time.
It opens with citrus notes, a ripe orange at its best and grapefruit. The mature citrus & orange notes are just fantastic and make way for its ADN of an orange-vetiver later evolution.
The heart starts with a somewhat subtle change through the introduction of a sharp sparkling grey flintstone. Nevertheless, the transition is light and smooth as a breeze.
The bottom notes suggest to me the growing of a woody and slightly earthy and dark accord, mainly due to the vetiver and patchouli notes. The subsequent dry down is pure pleasure, with the long-lasting citrus fainting slowly and giving way to the earthy woody dominance.
Terre is quite adequate for all seasons. It has enough freshness for warmer days and handles the colder weather with a good balance of some sweetness, woodiness and earthiness.
Think of an almost dirty, bitter grapefruit with overly sweet orange peel mixed with woods, fougéres and spices. It's not openly sweet, which is rare for a citrus scent. My amazement with this fragrance, besides its great scent, is the fact of being a citrusy perfume also proper for Autumn and Winter. Most citrus scents are relegated to be used solely in warm weather. Terre is actually nicer with cooler temperatures.
Its good performance will help you fight a cold early Spring, a windy Fall or a sunny Winter day. It delivers the best performance during Fall and Spring, especially in sun setting and sundown occasions, late evenings and maybe with a chilly touch of wind.
Surrounding people will notice you for sure! The woody facets combined with the natural dark and dirty citrusy notes give you a brilliant background that makes exhale distinction. You will feel happy, comfortable and elegant all day and night.
Here is my sparkling math scoring for Terre EDP:
______________________
Scent Opening: 9.5 (close to perfection)
Scent Dry Down: 9.5 (close to perfection)
Longevity: 8.0 (3 good sprays may last up to 8 hours)
Sillage: 8.0 (6 feet at its peak with just 3 sprays, and 2 hours strong projection)
Uniqueness: 8.5 (Terre EDP is not to blame for the existent "look-alikes", namely Red Vetyver, Derby Club House Belmont, Fattam, Citrus & Wood, Cuir Vetiver, and many others; But you also have the EDT, Eau Fraiche and Vetiver flankers to deal with)
Wearability: 9.5 (avoid Hell, Artic and Antarctic)
Versatility: 9.5 ("all around" versatile fragrance with many women claiming it to be unisex... my wife for instance!)
Compliments: 9.0 (This fragrance is close to a compliment magnet)
Quality: 10.0 (Top quality ingredients, nice flask, nice sprayer with ingenious locking mechanism)
Presentation: 8.0 (no faults, sturdy, simple and elegant)
Price: 7.0 (75 ml non-tester with the €75 pricetag at major net dealers)

Advice: This scent is not aimed at youngsters. Many middle-aged men (and some women) may find their signature scent with Terre.

Yes but do try it before you buy it, as it is a bit of a unique scent. It's also too expensive for a blind buy even if you think that you are going to love it.

I love the scent itself, but after buying a bottle I've found that it doesn't last very long on me.

Aftab_Ahmed

I love it 😍 best perfume ever.

7amalaw

I love this one to the extent that I wear it before going to bed sometimes. very mature and masculine perfume stays for around 5 hours I can say but the sillage is not good at all. I wore them outside and my friends had to sniff close to my neck to smell the fragrance. I would recommend it if you want to smell good for yourself or your wife. otherwise do not expect others to feel it much. if can find one with a better sillage definitely gonna put it on my top list.

Terre D’Hermès Parfum takes the success and originality of the original EDT, and makes it deeper and more mature. It opens with the same bitter orange and juicy grapefruit combination of the original, however lacks the kick of black pepper.

As it settles, it retains its signature masculine dry down of vetiver and cedar, but instead of earthy patchouli it introduces a smooth oakmoss which blends beautifully with everything else. This fragrance smells like spring and makes the original EDT smell more summery than you would originally think.

Overall the parfum closes off as a much drier and more mature version of the original, and while there are less notes included it smells like it has more depth. It’s an incredible scent but I’d say it’s similar enough to the original that it doesn’t warrant owning both, personally I still prefer the EDT.

httrung32

Terre d’Hermes Parfum is a disappointing downgrade from the EDT version. It smells like they added more rocks, dirt and ash to the formula, making it less fresh and more dull. Instead of smelling like a sophisticated gentleman with crisp banknotes in his pocket, you smell like a caveman who just discovered fire and is still rubbing two stones together to make some sparks. The parfum lasts longer on the skin, but it’s so weak that no one will notice it unless they sniff your neck. I don’t know what Hermes was thinking when they released this. It’s a waste of money and a waste of a good fragrance. Save yourself some trouble and stick to the EDT version. It’s much better and more enjoyable. Just my personal opinion, no hate whatsoever! 🙏🏻

RafaMillen1129

A beautiful fragrance from opening to closing. My only criticism is that on my skin for some reason it's very short lived. My first Hermes perfume that I bought for a song so it's worth it to reapply. To my unsophisticated nose I think this would be a safe blind buy.

isthisavailibleffs

It somehow smells like cigarette ash in the opening, 30min later the citruses shine and it becomes an elegant yet macho cocktail of smoke and grapefruit. Sensational.

And now my signature fragrance!

AScentedFox

Starts with a lavish amount of citrus and stops with oakmoss. Not a complex scent.
Moderate longevity and projection. Definitely a spring fragrance.

Perfect for a 40-year-old male with a sophisticated but not luxurious taste.

erictherainbow

First, I don't like it, struggling with those YSL Ys and Sauvage & Dior Homme, Acqua Di Gio, Spicebomb ...etc you name it. Now, this is the only one that I wanted to purchase a 200ml bottle(I have a decent collection, over 100 bottles). No, not even the original EDT, this.

[email protected]

I was a teenager in the 80’s. We were mad about fragrances back then. I had a collection of about 20 bottles when I was eighteen. And man were they heavy hitters with huge personalities. Kouros was my favorite and it was so strong a half spray could clear out a room. I’ve missed those scents and the sheer audacity of their creators. You were making a statement wearing even something mundane as Dunhill for men….not smelling like laundry detergent or cotton candy. Hermes pure perfume….it’s every bit as good as those classics. This is one for life.

Luchitos27

My father loves the EdT, but there was also the Parfum in the gift box.
To me, both seem too "sharp" and "dry"; this, by the way, is less pungent than the original, which sometimes smells like a bush that is on the verge of being burnt by the Sicilian summer Sun.
My skin literally "eats" this fragrance: i feel no evolution, compared to my 1 Million Parfum, and it's kinda "flat". Else, I can define it as "subtle" and "mysterious": it's like someone is lurking behind a door but never comes in: I can't really define it, but I can tell you this: I am almost 21, and this screams "MATURE GENTLEMAN": so, I don't suggest it if you're my age.
If you really would, consider putting it when you dress up in suit and tie for formal occasions.

derby2169

I was hesitant in testing the Parfum version primarily because TdH feels like the quintessential fragrance designed to work as an EDT.
The way our apebrains tends to work is to assume that more is automatically better, in my experience however perfume concentrations don't work that way, EDTs act like EDTs and EdP or Extraits acts differently, the lower the concentration of oils the more the evaporating alcohol can aerosolise oils into the air and thus also off the skin into the hair and clothing. EDPs generally bind to the skin like glue, don't move much, purely because of the ratio of fixatives to top and heart notes.

TdH Edt and the Parfum versions definitely follow the rules. Spraying the EDT on I get first bergamot then bitter orange and grapefruit, like tearing into the rind, and then that gunpowder, flint and walnut arrangement, that elusive mega-accord of iso e with elements of patchouli, cedar and vetiver, some florals buffering everything out.
Parfum feels completely different, that flint-y gunpowder-y effect is 10 times more pronounced, the top note practically doesn't exist aside from a very stable grapefruit accord. Much more earthy and smoky patchouli in the base, overall very stable, binding to the skin and dense.

I easily get 12 hours, enjoy only the first 3-4 because of the musty patchouli-based oakmoss simulation that dominates the dry down. Indeed this is very much of the 'terre' many people felt like was missing from the TdH EDT.
It is still very much a fantastic scent, the signature of 2000s perfumery. At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference.

Hugo Montez

A more bitter-green version of the EDT, with more density but less complexity. Less sparkling, less sweet and less peppery. It's overall a more monochromatic version of the original. Doesn't change much. It's good but i prefer the EDT

RajahSaheb

After trying both the EDT & Parfum, I think I'm put off by the strong pepper & mineral notes. No doubt it's "richer" than the EDT.

But the original flanker, Eau Tres Fraiche, brings a lightness that I really like. So I guess for some who prefer the same DNA but without the mineral notes should give Eau Tres Fraiche a try instead. Haven't tried Givree yet.

On second thought maybe I'll hold on to my Parfum decant for the colder months and use Eau Tres Fraiche the rest of the year.

CoachSignature88

Wow I don’t say this often but to me this is a 10/10! Extremely manly pleasant scent. Checks all the boxes for me. And lasts a long time. Going to have to try more from Hermes. This does smell very similar to banana republic cypress and cedar. But way better quality and lasts way longer. And more orange obviously. Don’t pass this one up!

Apache1830

Less pepper, less airy than the EDT.

Heavier, creamier

I prefer the EDT

8.5/10

gazjuan

Smells good and elegant😊

RK Perfumes

One of my favorite of all time but really not happy with silage it should be more stronger. If any know stronger in same nodes or knows trick to improve its performance please let me know

Awesome_O__

I love the edt but this one smells like an orange rimmed bootyhole on my skin

chrisk252

A richer, denser, creamier version of the original EDT. The vetiver in the drydown is less dirty and a step classier and smoother. Outside of summer, I might prefer this. This is great if you like the original.

Scent: 8.5 / Sillage: 7.5 / Longevity: 8

360NoClones

There's nothing I can say about this that hasn't already been said (a lot more poetically, too, probably). It's a masterpiece. I'd just like to add that I personally don't find it "unwearable" for people under 25. I wear it as an 18 year old and have gotten many compliments on it.

viewDidAppear

I have worn this for almost 10 years. Started collecting fragrances at 21 after being given this as a gift - the EDT version.

It became associated with “me” after a couple of years. Someone would smell it and know I was or had been around. The EDT version is a bit more Orange/Vetiver as compared to this, but this still holds its own quite well.

4-5 spritzes of this and people WILL remark about you upending the bottle on your wrists and neck.

This is a great all-rounder in a milder climate. I loved it for Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer back home, but I don’t like it in frigid Northern Hemisphere winters. Drier air, perhaps?

aldabra

This doesn't work on paper or cold weather. Also a very large difference between burying your nose in it or smelling it in the air. It's really good imo, but really needs to be smelled in the air off skin, preferably in spring or just at the start of fall.

franco90

The Original; Perfected
The Parfum is 90% similar to the original but that 10% makes all the difference. It removes the pepper and the sharpness of the Vetiver from the original without losing the Terre magic. Added oakmoss makes it ever so slightly more mature. The pinnacle of modern masculine perfumery.

gxbjw

A few days ago, I chose to wear Red Vetiver to the office and decided to run a little test. Apart from my 5-spray routine, I put on two sprays of TDH Parfum and Red Vetiver on my left and right arms respectively.

TDH Parfum is sweeter and creamier compared to the dirty and rugged RV. TDH P is much more mass-appealing and playful in the opening, but in the drydown the two scents are very alike despite noticable differences. TDH P is more woody and resinous, but still maintains the slight sweetness, whereas RV is all vetiver and pepper.

The performance is incomparable. RV was still pumping even after 8 hours, dying down after 10 hours, whilst TDH P had gone completely after 5 hours.

I think most people would prefer TDH P, and I think it’s a very good juice. However, I’m happy that I bought a full bottle of RV because it perfectly provides me something that I’m looking for from this DNA.

Sd4

Classic masterpiece. The smell of two oranges making a baby orange on the dirt under a tree in the rain.

dducker11

Really good scent. If you're looking for the Orange/Vetiver of the EDT I don't really think it's here. The EDT is a classic and a specific scent. This is an amazing scent though. I definitely get a strong Orange and Grapefruit opening and those notes last longer than I'm used to for citrus notes. I see Flint listed as a note in the other reviews, and though I have no idea what that smells like, there is a metallic/mineralic cleanliness here that I assume is Flint. The mossy/woody base anchors it all. This is a clean, citrus, fresh, woody scent.

I do find it very mature and "gentlemanly". I don't think this would be a good date or night scent but for the office and potential every day use you really can't go wrong.

Jnak555

Really amazing. It is so long-lasting and strong, five spritz of this, and people immediately notice when I walk by and joke about me pouring the whole bottle on myself. For me, this scent has really strong black pepper and vetiver middle and base notes, not sure why this is not listed? This made me wonder if I had the EDT but I looked and I definitely have the Parfum. The Eau de Toilette has this listed in their note description but this, the parfum does not The Hermes website also lists shiso as a major scent.

LunarPhobia

Strong citrus opening. Upon dry down the wood and flint start to shine. It seems like a nice fragrance for the office, especially during the spring or fall time.
Overall, a good sophisticated fragrance that leans more on the mature side.

Lukasssss

The first fragrance I stumbled upon that I would call a masterpiece.
It is strange that I hated it at first, but now it is in my top 5.
I wear it when I want to feel sophisticated and serious, for example at work.
Woodier, smoother, and projects less than the EdT.
Earthy/natural-fresh, not synthetic/soapy/blue-fresh.
Works best for spring and summer days, but can definitely be worn during fall and winter too.
Not blind buy safe, but 100% worth sampling - it is truly a love or hate fragrance. 9/10.

scentsationalist_69

This scent is the epitome of sophistication and class, perfect for the up-and-coming executive looking to make a lasting impression. The top notes of orange and grapefruit give way to a heart of pepper and floral notes, while the base notes of cedar and benzoin provide a grounding and confident finish.

tallamericano

I knew I smelled this before when I sprayed the sample, but couldn’t place it. Instantly took me back to high school wearing Maroma’s Olibanum Citrus fragrance that was under $20 an ounce. It’s like a warm blanket of woods, resins, and citrus. Such a comforting scent especially as the weather is changing. Longevity is poor; otherwise, I would’ve purchased a full bottle even at the high price point.
If you like this fragrance, you’ll also enjoy Red Flower’s aromatherapeutic midnight oil (attar of orange), and it helps with longevity to apply the oil first and then spray this.

MuchoMuchoAmour

Just tried a sample of it via a Sephora purchase, not paying attention to it being a masculine fragrance I spritzed it on.. While I don't mind that it is a men's parfum, it definitely smells traditionally male and on me, it smells like a hamster cage. The cedar is strong from the jump and to the dry down. Not bad, but very woody I am an oriental & gourmand gal. I'll update this once I have my partner try it on, because I think it will play better with his chemistry.

Starlight_moon

It's just ok. Very weak projection and poor longevity. Becomes a skin scent after an hour of spraying. Not worth the price tag.

Autumn_Moon

This is not typically the type of fragrance I go for, but it's a JCE creation, so... that gives me enough of a reason to sample it.

The grapefruit in this is very well-done; it feels realistic -- tart and refreshing, with a slight hint of the bitter rind. I get a touch of orange, but the citrus notes seem to lean more towards grapefruit on me.

I can also clearly detect the flint note, which ended up being an intriguing experience. It's similar to the mineralic smell I notice when I sniff a piece of cold stone -- again, not something that is present in any of the perfumes I own (or in those I typically sample), but it fits in well here. Any of the listed base notes (woods, oakmoss, etc.) simply serve to anchor the composition and give it a bit more longevity; they don't dominate the fragrance. (Then again, I'm aware that I'm a female who is sampling a fragrance marketed to men, so there is the possibility that this might turn out differently on other people... so, YMMV.)

Longevity and sillage are not very strong, but they are respectable for a citrus-forward scent. I wasn't disappointed by either. The fragrance sends out vibes that are confident and commanding, yet elegant and streamlined. (It does "feel" like some of the other JCE scents I own, as his creative "style" is present.) I can picture someone pairing this fragrance with a crisp, white shirt and/or a classic, minimalist aesthetic in terms of clothing.

The only thing that detracted from my experience was the *slightest* hint of something ammonaic in the background. (I'm guessing that one of the generally-described "woody notes" was the culprit here?) It wasn't terribly distracting, but it was present. (If not for that, I might have considered wearing this myself, regardless of marketing!) Even so, I would love to smell this on another person!

NunyaB

The parfum is beautiful. This is a great everyday wear, not so much for hot weather or dates, but very other time.

It’s a great smell, well blended. It’s one dimensional but I really can’t fault this. It’s so good for office wear or just relaxing around. It’s not a typical chypyre. It’s so good.

It does lack projection though, but it’s so good smelling.

sledgeharvy

I had been wanting this one for a while, but kept putting it off, and then when I did want it, it wasn't available in my area. So now that the stars aligned, I'm so happy, and for once happy I waited. I feel like I had to mature to reach the essence this pulls off.
For example, YSL L'Homme EDP has that Bitter orange and oak to give off something in the same vein as this, along with Zara's Eclat De Bergamote. Most recently, Bvlgari Man Terrae Essence contains a variant of the overall DNA.
Since I loved each of the previous interpretations of the DNA, I assumed I would love this one. I was absolutely correct. This is absolutely a step up in character to each of them. Bvlgari Terrae is closest but due to being a chin more smooth, perhaps due to the iris. It also gives less clarity of the definition of each of the notes. A trade off that will be up for personal preference. But a good indicator of what I meant earlier, if I started with Terre D'Hermes Parfum, would I appreciate it as much? Well, my opinion, I was better off waiting, because it truly is a signature scent worthy fragrance. And by having the alternatives, I can wear them to save on sprays of the Terre D'Hermes Parfum.
Longevity has been fantastic at roughly 7 hours. My opinion, I prefer the way it smells on skin, but helps to have a spray or two on clothes to get the orange wafts more often throughout the day.
Once you wear it consistently, you're going to fall in love with it.

Mr. 6

The one that started my perfume journey.

This type of scent will turn heads. However, this is best when suited up or in a business attire.

This is for the man who means business. He doesn't care of the people around him. He is unassuming. From his scent, they know he is "the man" that people respect. He is the sophisticated man. He has that class in him that charms his acquaintances. They smell him and they know they are in the presence of an important man.

9.0 out of 10

IdeasMan

Stunning. Delicious, sherbet-y sweetness dries down to an intriguing blend of metallic and wood notes (to my untrained nose). Really love it.

euvs71

I love all the TDH flankers, but for me this one is the classiest. If I had to choose only one, I would probably choose the EDT because it is the most versatile - the golden middle. But if I want to feel like a boss, I would choose this one. Better suited for colder weather.
My ranking:
1. EDT
2. EDP
3. Eau Givree
4. eau fraiche
5.Intense vetiver

aaronmy

This fragrance has great quality and great performance. This lasts 8-10 hours and projects 2-4 hours. On clothes this will last and project forever. I love the fresh citrus that you get from this. In the air it’s like a nice orange peel. I wore this today in the colder weather and I did feel as though I smelled more vetiver than I did when I wore this in the heat which I think is interesting. This is honestly one of my favorite fresh scents out today aside from ADG Profondo.

Budoy

I love this, i just wish it stayed on longer on my skin and projects better. Probably only lasts 4 hrs

Delosisles

Extremely good quality, balance, and sophistication without being at all stuffy, in any way. This fragrance is invigorating and exciting while also being comfortable. The citrus opening is sparkling and the rest of the journey is earthy. Terre makes sense as it smells of Old World Mediterranean terroir/ romanticism and a place in time.

Tacosalad

Very polarizing fragrance to say the least. It’s almost one that you have to dislike before you love. It’s not sexy or date friendly if you are looking for a cologne for female attention. It’s a cologne of power, confidence and persuasion. This is what professionals smell like. It’s almost like when you first drink coffee as a youngster and you don’t understand how adults like it. You start to realize the use for coffee and when your grown it’s your favorite taste. Initial smell is a burst of musky orange including rind with grapefruit. It projects outward with power and starts to become mossy and earthy metallic finished with a woody base. It is almost its own category of fragrance because nothing smells like this. Descriptions of Terre Hermes will never give you an idea of it’s true smell until you test it. More than likely your first reaction will be disappointment but then it starts it’s hold on you and the scent becomes a fascinating experience more and more. My wife still hates it on me but she doesn’t like vetiver at all. I get every comment below about rotten this and that and hospital, bandaid smells but it’s got me and not letting go anytime soon. Projects hard so do not overspray for office. Don’t wear if you are going to be hot and sweaty. Wear for a sales meeting, client interactions, maybe if your invited to a work party or wedding. You will smell prestigious and even the people who don’t like the smell will think you know something they don’t. I love this on rainy days. Lasts 8 plus hours at least an arm’s length’s projection, all season in ac. Would avoid summer if outdoors a lot. The edt and edp are both in my top 5 fragrances of all time! My bottle is at least 4 years old, sounds like newer ones are not as strong? Not sure if true but I know mine is plenty strong.
9/10

Ivant0519

Sure, the opening is a tad harsh and some prefer the edt version over the parfum, but not me. In my eyes, this is the final version of Terre d’Hermes. Definitely a masculine scent. Like always, try before you buy.

ellyas

it actually smells identical to the first-aid red cotton plasters, the ones you would use when you accidentally have cuts on your finger not gonna lie... if smelling like that is your vibe, then go for it. i like it a lot. long-lasting too on my skin!

turnerscott

Totally beautiful fragrance. Long lasting and the later echoes of the first spray are amazing. World class.

mazzablair

I literally cannot stress enough how much I love this fragrance.

I'll admit, it reminds me of a scent men in my extended family would use to cover up the smell of cigarettes, but I love it so so so much. A true, very bitter citrus on top, which reveals a woody cedar layer on the drydown. Quite sure this has a lot of ISO-E-Super in it, but whatever they've done with it has completely transformed it into a mature, sophisticated smelling fragrance. The flint and oak moss really shine through on drydown too.

Not to get political, but putting this on in today's world will make you feel like a man. This fragrance makes me feel much more confident in myself, and somehow makes me want to get s**t done! An absolutely marvellous fragrance that will surely stand the test of time.

10/10, one of the only fragrances in my collection that I'll wear day after day, and buy bottle after bottle. Kudos to Jean-Claud Ellena!

julesmelly

It had good staying power but I think the Eau De Toilette is far superior. Smells too 'perfumey' for me, I prefer the lightness and inoffensiveness of the original.

ry_ta

I sprayed this on 10 minutes ago and will update this review as the day goes on. First impressions are "wow". It is ultra masculine, powerful, and very refined and balanced. It is an adult scent. It makes me want to put on work clothes. If you're in sales and about to do some prospecting, put this on. This is relatively versatile but I like to narrow down fragrance to one season, maybe two, and provide an ideal setting. This way it will allow for a more defined role as my collection grows.

The orange note is more of an orange rind. Think of an old fashioned. It blends well with the flint, woodsy notes, and oak moss. The oak moss and flint are the most dominant notes so far, but the orange is detectable. I don't smell grapefruit or benzoin yet, but that's not a bad thing. I suspect the latter on the dry down.

Its ideal season is for sure the fall, though you could wear it in the spring. I don't think it's well suited for the summer or winter though, and it does strike me as a day time scent. Here are some ideal settings:
- Spring or fall wedding
- Black tie event
- Semi formal or formal attire (think sport coat, tucked in dress shirt, and some nice chelsea boots)
- Fall settings in fall clothes (plaids, flannels, leathers)

I do love this early on for its complexity. I can't quite figure out if this is a re-buy or not. At the current moment I would say it is probably worth buying the next size up. The atomizer on the spray vial is nice by the way. I'll likely buy the 5mL or the 12mL next just to have it in the collection. I can't see myself wearing it often enough to buy a larger size, but it is too good to only ever own the spray vial. It is such an alpha scent, and exactly what I'd love to pair with suits for critical business meetings.

Note that I am in sales, so having a fragrance and outfit tailored to each client is critical. This is the type of thing I'd wear on a listing 2-3x the average price point, more so for a prototypical wealthy client, less so a modest wealthy client. The goal of a fragrance like this for me is to start a conversation about it and provide a recommendation for this client. This would also be great for an outdoorsy or even an old school client. It's like a modern take on RL Safari, though it is not very similar, just in the same category of masculine and earthy.

Edit: All of this holds up. Great fragrance and unique. Lasts about 7-8 hours but silage is minimal; surprising for a parfum.

DBlack47

Terre d’Hermés Parfum is a different take on the original EDT and I don’t mind either, because both are incredibly versatile and can be worn in all seasons, predominantly in the daytime.

I love that there is an orange rind note through the fragrance life, with flint and oak moss in the dry-down, culminating in orange rind and wood in the late dry-down.

You can wear this with a white t-shirt and indigo jeans, shirt And trousers, or a suit for a modern, classy, gentlemanly scent. Great longevity (~8 hours on my skin), arms length sillage and projection. I love this line!

I really love it! earthy orangy woody, this is a masterpeace. I think I do not have a more natural not synthetic scent in my hole collection, this just radiates good vibes .

brainrot_haver

I enjoyed my sample of the EDT quite a bit so bought a 10ml of the Parfum formulation, and I think this improves it in all categories. The scent profile is about the same, but I get more orange than grapefruit in the opening, and more of the smoky accord from the flint. There's still a healthy amount of earthy cedar and vetiver, which isn't listed as a note here for some reason. This is a powerful and classy fragrance that oozes confidence, maturity and intrigue. Great staying power, incredibly versatile and better performance than the original Terre d'Hermes. 9/10.

If you want to smell masculine,go for it.Its has a great fresh, clean and the same time gentle,a little bit balsamic and sensual vibe. Its like the fragrance itself says hey, whats up?Everything will be cool with me.The first time i have used it i thought it to be more of a mature scent, but it grew on me and i find this categorizations for excessive bullshit, any man could pull this off, unless you are 9.Its not trying too hard and wont offend anybody, its a welcoming scent.Longevity seems to be alright,i dont know much about projection etc,but i would go for full bottle if i had the opportunity, for now i will stick to my 2ml sample. Its not a complex scent but its perfectly blended, the less is more kind. One of the best side of the things,is that this is very versatile scent that will suits you perfectly wherever you go and whatever you do.So far i have been really impressed by the Hermes scents. It has a little lovely vintage vibe to it with a modern twist. Its a love.

I dislike the opening but that doesnt last long, i love the rest

Rogerant

I've tried so hard to like this fragrance and it's nice. Bit hit of citrus at the opening and lots of woods on the dry down. So I can understand the love but on me it just doesn't last, and has weak projection as well. It's too little bang for your buck. I have ysl m7 and I much prefer that to this one. I know that it's oud but to my nose similar but m7 has much better performance. Glad I bought this but will not be repurchasing

jokcoy

The smell is gorgeus. It's fresh, clean, citrusy, and woody. I don't particularly like citrus frags, but this one really good and definitely a very versatile and safe choice. Long lasting, around 10 hour with moderate projection. Really great for outdoor activity as it won't offend anyone. The woody scent makes the citrus scent toned down a bit and also makes it more masculine. I would say it's a blind buy worhty for most, but since I'm not a fan for citrus frags, I'd still test it first.

Chemason1967

Wasn’t a huge fan of the EDT but this is another story it’s an absolute stunner 10/10.

ksaha

This lasts for very long on my skin as well as on garments. The orange and woody notes make a linear impression to my nose. It has the power to dominate all the others scents around you. In hotter days, I need to re apply after 5hrs, but during winters it lasts day long. All season fragrance for me. All time too. A recommended blind buy!

nelsongil13

🍋🍊☀️. TERRE PARFUM is a bolder version of the original. This fragrance has a great quality “sparkling” citrusy notes and a beautiful woody/earthy mix. Fresh and clean, compliments galore, suitable for casual and formal wear specially for the high heat summer days. Rate:🥈

A walk through an orange grove; earth, bark, leaves, orange peel and blossom. A lovely scent but I cannot work out where I would wear it. Inappropriate for a date, or for clubbing if that is your thing, and also seems a bit sharp to me for the office or work in general even if you are the boss. Too bitter for a special occasion. You could wear it for general day to day just being out and about, but for that it is rather expensive. A quandary for me. On the pricier side of fragrances for general wear and perhaps a bit bitter also for such a role. And yet this really is a piece of work. It is pungent and complex and evokes that orange grove to perfection. It is a fragrance that deserves respect and even adulation and yet for me it is a puzzle regarding the situation I should use it. Perhaps it should be worn randomly, to derail any habits in fragrance choices and to reset ones habits. So wear it at any place and at any time, but only occasionally to break the chains.

Magic Thomson

Masterpiece. This stuff is pure genius. There’s pretty much nothing like it. I just can’t stop smelling myself when I put this on.
It’s a classy, gentleman type scent. Picture Don Draper, this could be his signature scent.
This one has an amazing performance, is very versatile and leaves a gorgeous scent trail.
A must.

RoseAnonyme

One of my favourite fragrances to smell on my partner. It’s sexy and manly and earthy but still fresh because of the orange but also has beautiful depth with the woodsy notes. Truly a stunning composition. I feel it is one of those rare perfumes that can be worn all year round and in most situations. It’s date night worthy but could also be worn to the office. If you are on a budget and need one solid all rounder perfume that you can rely on then this is the one for you. It’s absolutely beautiful.

Hectuhhhhh

Smells like a much cleaner and smoother version of azzaro night time

Divine. My first love from Hermes.
The fusion of the smell of citrus, earth, wood, and stone.
I love how I can control the intensity with the number of sprays.
I usually do 2-3 sprays for a subtle aroma than fuses with your skin the whole day.
A forever masculine classic.

dukhayya

One if the best. Very distinctive earthy/woody notes and long lasting.

I think the biggest difference between this and the edt, is the patchouli note. The patchouli note in the edt gives it an earthy masculine vibe. Without it, the edp is too clean smelling almost like I have sprayed lemon pledge on myself. I prefer the edt.

DariaFrancesca74

Fabulous fragrance, full of suggestive shades. Jean-Claude Ellena the great master who created this iconic masterpiece. Citrus overture that opens the doors to warm and reassuring boises and chypre notes of rare harmony and freshness. When dry down, the sensual power of amber emerges in a symphonic rhapsody that makes the olfactory experience absolutely unique. Designed for men, but absolutely surprising and of great character on female skin. Masterpiece

Heinrich_B

Great fragrance!
I had it in two batches, first around 2019, second 2021 batch.
First one (2019) was very strong, great performance.
With the second one i experienced at first some projection issues, it felt to close to the skin. But i think it was just in my head, because the more i wear it the more stronger it gets.
Very similar to the edt, like almost identical (like the case with Guerlain Homme edt and edp).
To wrap things up...great fragrance (one of my favorite smells ever) with good performance.
P.S. This is veeeery apreciated by women, all ages.

PapaTLooch

Very similar to EDT but without the patchouli. Don’t believe the notes shown here because there’s loads of vetiver and black pepper and I’m not sure why they were omitted from the pyramid. I must say that I really do miss the patchouli a lot. The citrus (orange/grapefruit) is a bit sweeter and soapier here in the Parfum but not by much. Overall I find the EDT much more pleasing and more interesting. However, I will be wearing this a lot during the summer months since it’s a bit more fresh.

TheWoodman

Seems to polarise people, i have never been complimented on it and it really is weak. Given the hype i wonder if it’s me ? Seems to last but on on the skin with zero projection after 5 minutes, reminds me of baccarat rough in that respect. That one was a real let down and I’m selling in 10 ml samples. As i said, in the questionnaire , i have it but do not use it. Same with the BR540

nileeagle

Guys read this. I know colognes. I own so many and I have the nose.
This one smells amazing to me and I think cologne smells are subjective which means what I might like might not please others, but I think most people would really love this one (I won't go into the notes) but it smells like a very luxury daytime place (for some reason I think of walking into a boeing 747 in the 70s when at least to my nose they smelled so classy and rich and clean. It's a comforting scent to me. However that all comes with a few reservations. Here we go with the story..
I smelled it under the pressure of a saleswoman in an airport (duty free). I loved it but wasn't in the mood to buy since I wasn't out shopping for a new colognes. However, I really liked it but I just couldn't remember which tdh it was since the lady sprayed 2 other tdh colognes on other parts of my arms. A month later, I went to the tdh store and decided to smell them again (I thought it must be the vetiver one but I was surprised when it wasn't). It was the classic one (either the edt or the perfume) so I sprayed one on the right arm and one on the left trying to compare. They were very close in smell but the edt was a bit brighter while the perfume was slightly warmer. Since I'm 55, I opted for the perfume which I bought a couple of days later. Here's my problem. Even though it smells amazing, it just don't last long at all (maybe barely 2 hours if you stick you nose hard enough into your skin and take a deep breath. Sillage is almost non existent. People can't smell it on you unless they try to smell your skin shortly after you spray it on. It's a beautiful magical perfume. What's magical about it is that nobody would even know you're wearing it. Maybe I'll give the edt a chance but I don't think it's much stronger either. I'm very disappointed since I love the perfume but it doesn't last worth a penny and it almost doesn't project at all.

Perfume:
*Smells heavenly 10/10
*Projection 3/10
*Sillage 1/10

EDT:
*Smells amazing 10/10
*Projection 4/10
*Sillage 3/10

This is the first cologne/perfume that I love and feel I should get my money back at the same time.
Terre d'hermes should issue a recall on this one!

Sharbelabuwarda

Amazing!!
Jean-Claude Ellena is a master.
This is a thick, long lasting rich and dense version of the EDT.
It doesn’t project that much (rated it at “moderate”), but lasts 7-12 hours easily.
A perfect signature scent for the gentleman, which can be worn all year round.

Cardelle

This is the most expensive skin-scent EVER!!
It didn't used to be like this; it used to be nuclear in sillage and projection.
Don't get me wrong, love the fragrance, but it's far too diluted, when compared to what it once was; it used to be nuclear! Women used to stop me, wanting to smell me, up-close.
Now only people who hug me can smell me.
This is NOT how fragrances are supposed to be!
This fragrance doesn't project at all anymore.
Hermès, if you actually see these reviews, you need to reformulate this, making it as it used to be!

Jbicanic89

One of my favourite fragrances of all time. There is this timeless vibe I get from smelling it. It's masculine, rich, and a tad dark. Not extremely versatile, but definitely the best Tere D'Hermes fragrance in the line!

Seuni

It's a really nice, all year round, floral, woody, mossy, citrus perfume.

There's vetiver, lots of iso e super, geranium flowery notes, and citrus, a bit tart grapefruit opening. The flint brings some earthy/stone-y note to the fragrance, but I can't understand why people consider this divisive - this isn't even close to things like soil tincture.

Unisex, all year round, very safe. Lasts about 7-8 on my skin, always being moderate in terms of projection but leaving some whiffs when you move.

hontr10

I received samples of this Parfum version and the original randomly from an eshop. I gave it a few tries and Terre d'Hermes again is one of the fragrances I had to give more wearings. Still I don't understand how people prefer the parfum over the original and saying it's more grown up version, etc.

I would personally buy the original. It's a fresher one for me. The Parfum is somehow sweet to me (not strongly) and darker. Maybe suitable more for a night?

Mjchaelj

The dirty orange, raw earth and woodiness, wow. This is fantastic. I’ve owned the Eau Intense Vetiver version and also the EDT but there’s nothing like this. Yeah it’s technically a mature fragrance and I gravitate towards more modern stuff, but I love this. I think it’s perfect for the spring or autumn. Not for the high heat. This is definitely the best version of Terre D’Hermes. I’m not sure why people are saying it performs badly? With 5-6 sprays this lasts me at least 8 hours.

9/10

Ezekiel

This one seems quite bland compared to the Intense and OG versions. It's nice but I would suggest one of the other two, preferably the Intense.

autumnrequiem

I was conflicted when I first bought this because my nose didn’t really detect much differences with the EDT so I kind of felt my purchase wasn’t justified. I revisited this after a few months and I can only assume my nose is perceiving it differently or this somehow macerated because it is now a lot richer than I remembered, with the flint note being more prominent, greater strength from the orange and the oakmoss coming across as the thing that really accentuates this whole composition. Shisō is listed as a note on Hermès’ website too, but I’ve never smelled it.

I really love it now, it is truly amazing and I must say I enjoy it much more than I used to.

jarno1208

I like it. Has a lot of similarities to the OG EDT. Less dirty and more woody scent. Easier to wear than OG. Still very close and has a lot of similarities to the OG.

Jim_Smith

Wasn't sure what to do with this one. One chilly, windy day in May, I wore it wrapped up in black from head to foot, with grey jeans and felt glorious

tecfield

OK looks like there are some bad batches here and there reading comments. This on my skin goes a good 6+ hours and on my clothes will hit 12 + hours to a day or so depends on the cloth type. It's very nice and strong. Love this. I thought EDT was better for a long time but I came around on it and I think this is a better fragrance. Not that I don't love EDT anymore but I love this more!
Now I am debating that whether I should change my signature fragrance from Bel Ami to this or not. This is so good. Happy to have a good strong 200 ml bottle that probably will last me for many many years to come :)
My batch reads ECBA0. It's produced on 2020-03.

Subversive Element

The fragrance opens on me with slightly sweet vetiver.
The dry-down starts with hay and freshly mowed clover, later cedar, touch of sandal, fougere and incense with soft vetiver in the backdrop all throughout the lifecycle of the fragrance on the skin.
The incense is "green" with a hint of "church-like" olibanum.
Definitely much smoother, more rounded and down-to-earth TdH compared to OG EdT.

obsidianknighthawk

Distinctive male scent

ousenpai

One of the best. You might think you can't smell it anymore but others do. It has great sillage and longevity.

orangelips11

Rich orange juices in the bottle, french styles classic fragrance

Chanel de Lanvin

The only reality of this house is to produce good smells for the general public and it works well, the other side of the coin is that we accustom people, those who want to buy it, to very stealthy smells and they think they like perfumes, but once they know other perfumers who make very good juices with perfumes with a less formatted character, they are lost.
We therefore see the criticisms of these great perfume lovers who in fact understand nothing of the art of perfumery and who find that these creations smell very bad, too strong for their nose which has not evolved, often comparing them to cheaper perfumes, and what's more to discourage others from buying what they don't like.

Cardelle

Dear Hermès,
Please reformulate this; it's incredibly WEAK; too weak!
I've been buying and wearing this and others, since 2010, and back then they were SIGNIFICANTLY stronger.
I love this scent but, unless you reformulate this fragrance, and stop watering it down, I'll NEVER spend money with you again.
This once goliath of a fragrance is a shadow of it's former self.
What a waste!!

Cardelle

I loved this fragrance...
I used to wear it a lot in 2010; I'd get compliments from women constantly.
I'd say that this has been reformulated because the performance DEFINITELY is NOT there. What a fucking waste!!!
I don't understand why fragrance houses water down their beast-slaying fragrances, risking pissing people off, losing them as customers! This has happened to me with a few brands; they've gotten greedy, watered down fragrances that I'd frequently buy, in hopes that we wouldn't notice, we'd spray more, run out and restock faster... HELL FUCKING NO!!!
At this price-point, this fragrance performs terribly! OMG!!! What a fucking piss-take!! It dries down to a skin-scent in approximately 1 hour.
Back in the day, I remember getting decent projection, thick sillage and 10 hours performance, at least from this, but at the moment... NOPE!!!👎🏾
I have a 200ml bottle, plus a big rotation of fragrances, so this won't run out any time soon, but when I do, I will not repurchase. This is blatant piss-taking!! I'll spend where I'm valued🤮😬👎🏾

e2less

Ok the parfum is much better. To me, the edp smell like a orange cleaning product. I gave it a chance but literally gave it away. But Terre d'Hermes Parfum is woodsy with a touch of resin. The fruity orange is very subtle freshness. Projection is not beastly but the silage is outstanding. Perfect for spring and summer.

Monke go brr

I quite enjoy this. I smell jasmine in the background compared to the original, so it smells more full. In the original EDT the perfume comes across to me as plasticine. And so although this is almost the same smell (maybe 85%) it comes across totally differently to me. Original smells cheap and plasticky to me whereas this comes across to me like Bleu de Chanel - the EDP version (which I find quite elegant and likeable).

I know it might be a weird association but this really smells to me like Terre dHermes taken a bit into BDC EDP territory. It's a very pleasant and elegant smell.

Looking at the comments seems that people have very differing opinions on this perfume.

svckshine

I love this and many people around me told me that i smell good. Sometimes i mix this with Oud Wood by Tom Ford and people said i smell like winter breeze in the pine forest.

Dewa23satria

EdT, EdP, Vetiver, fraiche.
confident, control, and overpower.
Not a frag to impress girls cause you know you allready had many women who crazy for you.

As alphamale who climbing your life to the top, You should start wearing those all and stop using mass-pleasant sweety type fragz

HER30

From a woman (testing for my husband - and this was the Parfum not the EDT like some others have reviewed) - this was like a cedar cabin in a pine wood. Smells like a sharp fresh invigorating place, but doesn't smell like a person to me. My 5 year old son said "ew" about this one compared to others for what that's worth. I think it evokes a strong reaction. I wouldn't mind smelling this on a man but I won't be buying for my man, and I would advise caution if you're looking for a blind buy/super attractive fragrance to others - this is not the one. This is a kind you should wear because YOU like it. Test it first.

melmelmel

I bought this for myself at a busy airport, am female. I purchased it because I thought, I need something that makes me happy during my long travel, and oh wow, this smell lifts my mood up, and any time I wear it I feel very energetic and ready for the day. This is as sophisticated as I am capable of describing why I bought it.

Made by Kouros

I fell in love with the EdT years ago. At some point I replaced it with this, not knowing that parfum is not just a stronger version of eau de toilette. Silly me. In fact this lacks the main thing I originally fell for in Terre - the vetiver. So while this is second to EdT in my books, it's still an amazing fragrance. The orange in this is to die for.

I layer this with the Eau Intense Vetiver flanker to get the best of both worlds and a fantastic longevity.

Gorilla

My spring/summer go to! Delicious scent. I purchased a 6.7 once bottle - it's affordable and will be used frequently.

VETTIVAER

Update: Have been using my bottle for over 6 months. It has had its chance to mature in the bottle and react with the air head over time
Performance is still 1-2 hours tops, on clothes too! On skin, it's down to less than an hour.

I bought my bottle from an official brick and mortar Hermès outlet. I love the smell but am simply very deeply disappointed in the performance.

warning: tangetial rant starts below

Thank you IFRA, for once again protecting "up to 3% of the population" from what are mostly "possible skin irritation or sensitization" and "potentially carcinogenic" substances administered to bald mice, while people are still largely free to smoke cigarettes in public spaces and drink alcohol. I am not even going to address IFRA's extreme take on 'possible sensitivities for a percentage of the test population' vs. how educated people deal with food allergies. Yes, I have a metaphorical axe to grind.

pvedder

This has been a stable fav for me some time, however the latest bottle parfum has no longevity with only an hour or two at most. Like so many others it seems to have been reformulated. The orange and woods dissolve in a creamier dry down, which then disappears like smoke. My bottle is the perfume 100ml purchased from David Jones (AU) in 2021. When this bottle runs out I am doubtful I will purchase another.

Pistonj

@Porsche9! & @StankFrank Yeah I can agree that it's not projecting like a beast but just had this on at work yesterday and I was still getting strong wafts after 8 hours.

StankFrank

+1 @Porsche9!

Love the scent, performance is terrible. Hopefully some maceration happens in the bottle. Can’t recommend even from discounters.

EDIT - Frag has for sure rounded out & gotten a bit stronger in the mid & dry down. I still need 4 sprays on skin & 1 on clothes, but I can get 6hrs that way. Love the scent. Will repurchase from discounter when I use it up.

Porsche9!

Really good scent. Mostly orange and woods. Like it a lot, but the performance is catastrophic. More or less skin scent from the beginning, maybe a little projection till 1st hour. From then on skin scent for another 2-3h. Hard to pull the trigger on such poor performance.

Or is the official tester so bad? Hard to imagine that they would purposely weaken the tester.

Cdub5_

What an absolutely gorgeous fragrance! I find the EDT version to be a bit "sharp". This parfum takes the original dna and smooths it out.

I really tried to like the EDT but it was just too much for me so I was hesitant on trying the parfum, but afterward I'm so glad I did because this suits me perfectly.

Definitely big bottle worthy!

nidhal

omg, this fragrance is amazing usually i hate citrusy note and i wear soapy fresh fruity fragrance in the summer like prada luna rosa ocean ,ysl y (edp+le parfum),oud rain , le beau this one throw them all out the window
i keep sniffing the tester and I'm a bit chocked how on earth a 2009 release can beat all the new releases and i can't get enough of it very underrated partum
the smoothness and the quality of the ingredient is a top notch (the same quality of oud rain but 3 time cheaper)
what i smell is pure juicy bitter orange + benzoin ...earthy but also clean ... nothing harsh or nose tangling

GetGUD

It took me a while to pull the trigger on this one as I couldn't find it on any Canadian discount sites, but I buckled and bought it from a local fragrance store. I honestly can't add anything to this discussion that others haven't said before me. This is just gorgeous! Amazing quality, elegant, mature/sophisticated, and I'd consider it a year round (minus the coldest of cold/hottest of Hot days). Definitely on my Top 5, not just of what I own but of what I've smelled (it's in the company of Herod, Godolphin, The One Mysterious Night & possibly Bleu Noir EDP). Such a beauty.

eewatts23

People are saying that the vetiver is gone, but that's not entirely true. I pick up vetiver, but yes, it's not prominent here and neither is the sharp earthiness, when compared to the EDT. That likeable stinkyness, if you will, is toned down. To me the citrus and cedar stand out and I even detect the slightest hint of powder. Even though the citrus is stronger in the edt, the parfum somehow feels fresher (another youtuber commented on this). Finally, however, after about 30 minutes all three in this line smell very similar. Because they all end up drying down to similar places, I feel the best bang for the buck has to be the Eau Intense Vetiver. It feels closer to the original than this parfum version, but on steroids. Still, the parfum gets high marks--and I still think it could be worn in any season.

Magic Thomson

I get it when people say this is class in a bottle, or it’s the dirty orange vibe. This is not a young man’s scent. This is Don Draper, or James Bond.

Versatile, for every season and occasion. On my skin, it’s a powerhouse. Love it!

the_chandler

Citrus in the opening, but after that, the moss and woody notes come through strong. Pretty earthy but still pretty bright. The one note that really sticks out to me that I don't see mentioned is GINGER. I get a ton of ginger from the dry down, but maybe that's just the lingering citrus mixing with earthy notes. This is pretty nice and pretty damn versatile.

Ointmeal

You probably have read or know about the notes already. This is more a comparison to the EDT.

It's a lot more rounded, and as such those notes in the EDT that are good are being drawn up, while the qualities that are not so good have quieted down. The 'woodsy' quality in the Parfum is deeper, heavier and carries more information. Think of this as a re-balanced EDT without it being older or boring. Not at all. That famous 'orange' quality is warmer (...but not sweeter) and doesn't scream as much any longer. Hence, making a place for the woods to come up more. Have you noticed how when someone is talking normally they usually are able to convey more information rather when they're screaming? I find albeit quieter, the parfum carries more information in it.

I still don't find either of TdH mindblowing or anything, but the Parfum has that dumb reach quality to it. I honestly can't see how this wouldn't fit almost any situation. It's pleasant. I think this would be totally good in summer as well, but I see below others feel different. It depends on you as a person I suppose.

I don't really feel there's any strict age bracket for this. It's versatile. Unless you're, like, 9. I could see many ~25 year olds making this work for them no problem.

EDT gives me an ISO E Super headache - this is not present here :) Spraying this on skin next to the EDT makes me nose blind for the parfum tho! On it's own I can clearly pick it up.

Projection and sillage are more intimate. Not a bad thing IMO, but that comes down to how you prefer wearing fragrances.

No reason for women not to rock this.

Hope this helps :)

A.Bandini

While the general vibe and sillage in the air are pretty similar to the EDT, the edges of the original are sanded down in this one. The main difference between EDT and Parfum is only felt by the wearer himself as the sillage to other people is pretty much the same. No one could tell the difference passing by. Gone are that piercing orange and sharp vetiver. Now the orange in this is more pronounced but its a full and ripe orange and not that piercing and unripe one. I dont detect any vetiver in this one and according to Hermes there is none in there which is a plus too. The benzoin and cedar give the whole composition more body, warmth and depth.

NotAnEqualizer

I can't justify using the fragrance for myself, but I bought it in my late 20s anyway. This one is for the more mature man who is established. It's not for anyone under 40, I don't feel.

The orange and wood are most prominent, and I feel without the orange it would be boring. This one goes well for a night out or special occasion. I wouldn't consider it a casual fragrance.

Performance is solid all around. Projection and longevity are above average. I feel it suits every season except hot summers.

melusina1982

Terrific on my skin as it, for once, has decided to obliterate excessive wood and pump the orange and oakmoss instead. It smells like eating oranges in the middle of the forest. Perfectly unisex if you care about that and as worthy as the others on the line.

goodone

I felt Terre d'Hermes Parfum Hermès for men - to be a little too feminine (sweet) for me...
On the other hand, I purchased the women's Elixir des Merveilles Hermès, which I thought to be male-oriented.
My experience w/Hermes opened my eyes to the fact that these 'sex' designations are...sometimes...questionable.

TheLB

Just bought this for my husband. He’s had the 2006 version before many moons ago. I really like it, it’s fresh and manly. Clean, mature in a sophisticated way, not juvenile. Sufficient projection, it doesn’t assault the sinuses but leaves a nice waft in the air. I dig it.

djutan

Just received my decant today. As others mention it stays close to the skin.Would have to test it when theres some wind outside, i think it would leave a nice trail.Overall it´s a nice citrus woody (cedarwood) smell, just the opening is a bit harsh but it dries down quickly.I like it.

HikingViking

The most expensive skin scent I’ve ever bought. Not even moderate projection and zero sillage. Parfum concentrations should perform better. Linear scent, somewhat deeper and smoother than EdT. Not like you’ll get the time to detect it… Save your cash.

shadaroba

Yes I'm a woman and I wear this perfume from time to time... I LOVE IT! I don’t care for those saying this is super masculine. This is a great scent that makes me feel in a good mood throughout the day!

Junayd

Really nice scent and leaves a nice trail in the air! However both edT and edP have terrible perfomance on my skin. After 4 hours it's barely there anymore... Real shame, not buying it with this weak performance.

Bow collector

Totally different than the EDT and it’s better. Woody and citrus but not a clone and not boring. Blind buy if needed. 10/10

Danose4frag

To my nose, TDH Parfum is like a subdued blend of Orange Creamsicle and Afnan Supremacy Silver. Overall, a masterpiece flanker. While TDH Parfum is a modestly performing frag, the creamy orange comes right out in the opening and lingers on during the drydown. I also smell the flint note, which I can only best describe as a rocky metallic kind of scent. The Woodsy and Oak Moss notes are very prominent in the opening, but quickly dissipate into mild base notes. Pricey, but signature scent worthy, IMO.

Boxes_O_Moxes

I absolutely Love Terre d'Hermes. I'm a huge cedar fan and this is done perfectly. The cirtus opening to the woody cedar, vetiver dry down. 100% of this fragrance is money! If I had to choose only 1 frag to wear for the rest of my life this would be it.

VETTIVAER

(2021 purchase)
Opens with a rich yet dry orange grapefruit combo. Transitions rather quickly to the flint accord everyone talks about. This flint note lasts only seconds if not minutes, before it transitions again to a woody slightly resinous dry down with some of the earlier citrus.

Love the concept but am really disappointed with the ridiculously weak performance for the price in 2021 - utterly gone in 2hrs or so (not even a skin scent!). The EdT performs slightly better - 6hrs as a skin scent (probably due to added iso).

The Wolf

I had the edt years ago and liked it a lot.
Tried this parfum version and I love it as well.
Strong, earthy, mature, and manly AF.

Many fragrances these don't have a clear gender, and I rarely vote I heavily masculine. Hermes EDT and this will be the exceptions. It's rugged with the flint IMO with monster projection on my skin.

Less dirty and rugged than the EDT I remember, but still very good.

Scent 8.5/10
Performance 7/10

tecfield

TDH EDT is one of my signature items in my collection. Although this EDP version is a very nice smelling fragrance, but I still prefer EDT over this. To me, I dearly miss the black paper and patchouli notes in EDP version. This smells similar to EDT but yet different so if you have either one but not the other one then I would recommend you to get it. I would have loved if Hermes would release an EDP version of the EDT. Overall, it is an amazing fragrance no matter which version you get and the classic feeling of it is worth every penny.

My story with Terre D’Hermes started back in 2018, i was doing my routine patient visits in the hospital where i work, and a room i came in made stop for a moment when i first smelled it, this patient was a private patient paying on his own all the treatments, he comes from Iraq, a man of interest, i introduced myself and right away instead of talking about his progress i had to give him the compliment about the smell he is using, guys i can never forget those days he was staying in our part in the hospital, this smell made fall in love with it right away, i come to him first every morning at 7 am to smell this fresh clean smell, before he leaves after 1 week of staying he insisted to give me his bottle as a gift and a way to remember him, since then i buy this every time it’s empty, I’ll never forget this man.

In a Bottle

my husband and I both wear this perfume the most. There's just something very earthy and grounding about this scent and is my go to daily wear for work or any other occasion really. On him it makes him smell very sexy and godly. It's a very attractive scent on him, no question about it. For me, I wear it mostly for myself even though I'm a woman, it's such an upIifting concoction that helps me stay centered throughout the day. Doesn't give any headaches and makes anyone wearing it smell divinely attractive. I don't see myself falling out of love from this perfume and highly doubt anything else can top it.

Unmodernize

Is this the bottle called ”pure perfume”?

I smelled it now and it is such a surprise! For once a house didnt go with a darker (cardamom, tonka, vanilla) version for the perfume but rather they went fresh(!).

So cool that they did that. I love it. It does smell similar to Voyage the OG though. But I don’t care since it breaks the mold.

I might consider this! And I’m not the biggest fan of Terre D’Hermes, never owned the OG.

Good job Hermes!

Having read the reviews below, I am pleasantly surprised to find there was at least one other woman reviewing this! It seems like this little gem behaves quite differently on men than it does on women. It's sweeter, softer, more floral and genial. Terre might be a sophisticated man, devlishly good looking, whose overwhelming charm equates with subtly, but with a marked difference between the sexes. Terre is both a man's man and a womaniser, to the extreme. Admittedly, Terre has swept me off my feet and I don't care who knows it!

Very similar to the original, but much less "sharp" and much more "round". The original radiates far and has that distinct mineral effect to it (iso e super?) while this stays closer and seems softer in scent and projection. The "dirty" orange right off the bat that the original has is toned down in this, but it's still a distinct orange peel. I honestly far prefer the original as it has this more open and picturesque effect to it while this parfum seems like it took all the ingredients and mashed them right next to one another. It's just okay.

Terre d'Hermes Parfum was created by Jean-Claude Ellena. I think this is important to mention, because Mr. Ellena is a master perfumer and his resume truly speaks for itself. This is one of his greatest creations - it is a more modern version of the original Terre d'Hermes (henceforth referred to as TdH). You know the deal: the crisp orange top note, refined and elegant, that slowly gives way to vetiver, earth, woods and a slight mineral note. The Parfum version is more smooth, it is somehow creamier and more "compact," if that makes sense. The Parfum has less vetiver, less Iso E Super, but more natural "woods" in it.

TdH Parfum is not a complicated fragrance by any means, but it is supremely elegant, good for almost any occasion, any season; it smells manly without ever being too loud or provocative. The longevity is great, although people do go anosmic to it due to those synthetic wood components in it. The projection isn't amazing, but it's meant to be a more intimate fragrance anyway. Safe for the workplace, good for job interviews, cultural events, classical music concerts... that kind of thing. It's not terribly romantic, but it will do if you're not sure what else to wear. In my opinion, it has a more serious vibe to it; arguably this might be the safest modern fragrance to wear in a formal situation, but I also enjoy it more privately, at home, when reading a book for example.

This fragrance shows that you don't have to pay top dollar for something that's clearly high quality, classy and elegant. The presentation is classic, from the black twist-top atomizer to the gorgeous base of the bottle that has the glass etched out in the shape of letter “H”.

TdH Parfum: Citrus, Woods, Earthy Notes. Perfection in a bottle. 9.5/10. You owe it to yourself to try this fragrance.

This is an incredible scent. Timeless. It opens bitter and powerfully and then settles into an absolute easy scent to rock. The opening may put some people off, but you gotta wait, cause the GREAT is shortly thereafter. This scent can be rocked day, night, office, work, play, any time of the year in my honest opinion. It is straight masculine, not pretenses whatsoever. It is amazing and those who rock it know that it is one for the ages. TRY IT.

Apocalypse6vs8

Classic, stoic and masculinity refined in full display. The juicy yet bitter opening is turned down ever so slightly and feels less explosive on initial spray. But, it feels smoother and still somehow potent as it settles beautifully after those first 5-10 minutes on the skin. The Flint accord kicks in nicely giving it that stern and grounded characteristic while still keeping that citrus nuance throughout the mids. In the end it just shows its classic masculine self with woods and a soft but, present oakmoss that lingers with the slight vanilla like accord from the benzoin which harbors more to the balsamic side and not gourmand which is key to my nose. Truly a simple yet masterfully crafted juice from none other than one of the masters Jean-Claude Ellena. The whole Terre D'hermes line up are near juggernauts in the shear masculine realm of designer scents. If you're a sweet chasing, gourmand loving whoremonger of today's scents and profiles where establishing gender neutral creations are the standard from both designer and niche houses then this is not your elixir of choice. Bold and masculine is now an afterthought and it's a shame.

Thank you Hermes & Jean-Claude Ellena as it has not been lost on them. Perfection, plain and simple that transcends yesteryear, contemporary/modern and future generations of perfumery creation and adoration for the few remaining that can appreciate a classic masterpiece.....

The first time I smelled Terre D'Hermes I was turned off. I didn't return to the line until I tried Eau Tres Fraiche. I bought a full bottle almost immediately. I then decided to return to the line and sample Terre D'Hermes EDT as well as the Parfum. While the EDT seems more complex to me the Parfum reminds me of a year round version of Eau Tres Fraiche, something I can wear in the winter. The citrus in the Parfum is more apparent and the benzoin makes it more approachable. I will eventually get the EDT but the parfum will likely be my next bottle.

To me this fragrabce smells like turkish delight. I really like it and came across it when purchasing a gift for a friend and i got a free sample bottle.

That is a very good modern take on the EDT.
EDT was superb in 2006, now it smells dated.
Get the parfum, guys.

TouristTrophy

Incredibly refined fragrance. Probably not for everyone but to me, this smells like pure sophistication. Prefer the parfum concentration due to it's added intensity and apply it over the Terre d' Hermes body mist spray for vastly improved performance.

This is a signature spring/summer frag to me. This evokes being on vacation in Cancun, where you break out your new floral Hawaiian dress shirt and pair it with your Panama hat. This screams classy to me, and you can certainly dress it up or down. I was leaning towards 1 Million Parfum for the summer, but boy this smells like it's cooler, refined older brother. I have a 10ml decant and I can't wait to wear it on our boat come next late Spring and Summer! Excellent warm weather frag. If you're in your mid to late twenties on wards, this is for you. This can worn in Autumn if you want to smell citrus-ly fresh with a moderately woody dry down.

As always, get a decant first and try it out on your skin. I will definitely get the big bottle when I run out. Love it. I will save my decant bottle and refill it for Summer traveling as well. I'm not a fan of risking a expensive frag in my luggage even on a carry on. Decant bottles are great for traveling... especially if you want to bring more than one scent for your trip!

jasonheyward70

Absolutely love this.
Fresh, mature, slightly bitter but with a piercing projection.
Lasts a long time on my skin and leaves me with a lovely scent bubble around me.
Perfect all year fragrance.

The reviews here are pretty clear that this is a smoother version of the EdT but once I smelled the Parfum for myself, I was nevertheless surprised.
It is a citrus and vetiver scent but not earthy or burnt notes like the original EdT has. One might expect a Parfum version to be more dense or wintery than an EdT but with Terre, I'd say the EdT would suit autumn the most while the Parfum would suit the summer. I imagine a man walking on the beach wearing this, but the kind of man that would still wear something a bit formal even on the beach.
It has quite good projection and longevity for a citrus scent. Two thumbs from me overall, smells good, definitely stands out and performs well, what more can I want.

tatehill2000

Simply Citrus Perfection! there is a reason why this is ALWAYS at the top!

JupiterMoon

High-quality lasting citrus. The official Hermes site has different notes than listed here: Grapefruit/Cedar/Shiso. (While the EDT is Grapefruit/Cedar/Flint.) Reading the complaints about reformulation here, I guess it has been simplified. Smooth, summery, simple. That's what I get. It would be nice to try the original formulation, since from the reviews here I got a lot more controversy and talk of "dirty orange" and earthy etc. I don't get that here. It's quite refined, feels nice, natural and not overpowering. Mostly grapefruit and nice supporting notes of the Cedar and Shiso. Classy. Good for everyday summer and early evening warm days.

This version,IMO, takes all the things that bothered me a little in the original EDT, and SMOOOOOTHS everything out !
I ,as of now, LOVE this parfum version. 9.5/10
