L'Interdit Eau de Parfum by Givenchy is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. L'Interdit Eau de Parfum was launched in 2018. L'Interdit Eau de Parfum was created by Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Fanny Bal. Top notes are Pear and Bergamot; middle notes are Tuberose, Orange Blossom and Jasmine Sambac; base notes are Patchouli, Vanilla, Ambroxan and Vetiver.

Among the first perfume creations of the house of Givenchy stands the legendary scent of L'Interdit from 1957, dedicated to actress Audrey Hepburn as the most significant muse of this fashion designer.

In 2018, its new, modern version called L'Interdit Givenchy comes out, developed by perfumers Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Fanny Bal as a floral-woody composition. The perfume is built on the basis of contrast between a bouquet of white flowers (including jasmine, tuberose and orange blossom) and intense woody and earthy notes of patchouli and vetiver. The concept behind the creation is the "thrill of the forbidden" and the challenge of crossing the line.

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:

"A white floral exalted with a dark accord. The first resolutely underground flower.
The white notes - orange blossom, jasmin and tuberose - are interlaced with darker more mysterious notes of vetiver and patchouli.
A generous intense brightness that isn’t afraid of subversion.
Unforgettable, intense, addictive and fearlessly elegant. The shocking side of chic."

The bottle of thick glass pays homage to the original shape with a more modern outline with the 4 G logo added to the black ribbon that encircles the neck. The face of the new L'Interdit release is actress Rooney Mara. Givenchy L'Interdit is available in 35, 50 and 80 ml Eau de Parfum.

I accidentally smelled it on someone and I went crazy trying to figure out what perfume it was and find it. One day by chance in a perfumery I sprayed it on a mouillette and it was really him! I sprayed it on my hand, it was winter and a little went on the cuff of the jacket. It remained on the fabric for a very long time, almost a week. What I love about this perfume is that, even though it isn't in the notes, I smell incense, a particular type of incense based on sandalwood and frangipani that I used (the Goloka Nagchampa Agarbathi) which have numerous properties and a very good scent. Projection and persistence of the scent are incredible and it certainly is sweet. The tuberose and orange blossom are not at all obvious or usual here, sweetened as they are by the pear. Precisely because of these three notes, someone has compared it to JPG's Classique, but while JPG is soapy and the spices (cinnamon and anise in particular) make the tuberose slightly smoky, L'interdit remains juicy and floral, it does not turn spicy. I love both very much, I find that they are two creations that start from a similar concept and develop it in very different ways, JPG follows the olfactory preferences of the 90s (but it is still very current) while L'interdit is a modern tuberose, a little naive and a little sophisticated.

heartbeam

Quite literally smells like the fruit section of a grocery store to me. I don’t know why anyone would want to smell like that, but it’s not that appalling of a scent to me at least? I wouldn’t want to test it again though.

audreyofarc

Does anyone else get a big blast of something peppery and super spicy in the opening or am I going crazy?

Ljena777

Smells like a 5 star hotel resort lobby full of fresh white flowers. Very choking

nonabean

i don't get any pear, just punch of earthy florals that warm to fleshy tuberose on the skin. evokes to me the image of a rich, fashionable older woman who knows what she wants, which i don't wish to emulate but do respect. maybe that's because it smells a little bit like my grandmother's hands?

Apologies if it's the wrong place for it, but I've got an 80ml demonstration/tester bottle of this from the time of its release (meaning "original" formula) and have only tested it twice. Still full into the neck of the bottle. I really want the Rouge Ultime version instead and wondered if anybody (UK) might be interested in a swap? I'll delete this later, sorry for the imposition! 🫣

I support reformulation solely because it's hilarious to imagine Audrey Hepburn walking around the 1950's smelling like purple Fanta soda.

fragrantbutterfly

Classy, complex and beautifully balanced floral. It opens rather strong and bright, and I almost hated it. Then it begins warming up, drying and developing into one of the most distinctive florals. I usually prefer darker, spicier ambers, but L’Interdit has won me over with its complexity and classiness. 9/10

Fragranceobsessed xoxo

This is just pure perfection to me. It makes me feel exactly how I want to feel when wearing a fragrance- sexy, feminine, warm and magnetic. This is one of those fragrances that I wear and I know I smell good if that makes sense? It’s not overly complex but it just absolutely gorgeous. It’s a perfect blend of sweet and spicy florals. This is a signature for me. Also love the rouge flanker. Love to wear that one when I want to amplify the sexiness of the original.

Saveria

L'Interdit smells good, yes. But in a very conventional way.

It is a scent of white flowers, slightly amber and very sweet. As someone who adores orange blossom, I find it very discreet here (lucky are those who smell it well). Everything remains very sober; nothing goes beyond the framework established by the fashion of recent years.

It will be perfect for lovers of conventional and classic perfumes (nothing wrong there, to each their own) who do not want to disturb others. In short, on others yes, but not on me.

If you like scents that are a little more original or daring, in the same range, I suggest L'Interdit Rouge, with its ginger/blood orange accord or L'Interdit Tubereuse Noire, woody, smoky and gently caffeinated.

P.S : I'm pretty sure Audrey Hepburn didn't wear that kind of sugary frangrances...

Zayn Ahmad

I love it, didnt get the pear, but i love the smell, more like fresh zingy white floral, with good performance.

I have both the EDT (bought last week) and the EDP this morning. Both were blind buys. I really like them both, although I slightly prefer the EDT.

For the EDP, one piece of advice is to spray it only once on your chin, then rub your wrists on it, and then take your wrists and rub your neck and the rear of your ears; you will have plenty, believe me.

It is that wrong as far as the concentration.

Both have a similar scent, with a slight difference.

Mademoiselle Rêve

This is my happy, sunny, spring perfume. I didn't feel like reaching out for tuberose scents throughout the autumn and winter months, but I find them (and this one in particular) very suitable now. I like the whole range, and use the EdP and EdT for daytime. Somehow this one radiates joy, in my subjective view - it is for an elegant woman, sophisticated inside and outside, with a positive attitude towards life.

i was introduced to l'interdit when my grandmother -- my "grammy" -- handed me a sample she got from a magazine. she wasn't a fan, she said, but something about it reminded her of me. i had never really been exposed to perfume of any kind before, save for walking through the fragrance department in macy's and choking on chanel's "chance" as a child. from the first spray, i was hooked. even though i knew nothing about perfume (not that i’m an expert now), i knew it was something special.

l'interdit is beautiful and complex. the sweetness of the vanilla and white florals is balanced out perfectly by ambroxan and patchouli - which i believed i would dislike forever before discovering this perfume. it's definitely a warmer winter scent despite all the white florals, pear, and bergamot. every phase of this, from the initial spray (hot and heavy), to the dry down (sweeter, a bit lighter, tuberose-forward), to how it smells hours later (a mild, spicy floral), is different and wonderful. the sillage is also nice -- just two sprays and my friend complimented me from across the room, then again before asking what i was wearing in his car.

i literally can NOT stop smelling myself when i have this on. one of my first times wearing l’interdit was on a date, and i'm not exaggerating when i say that i spent half of my sole dinnertime bathroom trip sniffing my wrists like a freak. as another reviewer said, this might not be exactly what audrey hepburn wore, but i love it regardless.

over the past year, this has become my favorite scent and it will always remain the perfume that got me interested in fragrance :)

Berk Y.

A woman with a lot of money definitely wear this complex scent!

BEAUTIFUL. it smells kinda like bubblegum, or pear candy. It's also really long lasting. This used to be my signature scent, but I can't wear it anymore unfortunately because of the memories I associate with it.

Ana Letic

L'interdit is a definiton of PERFECTION. All flankers are just pure love and perfection. Timeless fragrance.

Maya lilac

Arguably, the best designer tuberose scent ever released. A nuanced, sweet-spicy tuberose though.. And I am saying the best because of how phenomenal this performs. This is strong, no joke!

L’Interdit is truly a gorgeous scent! If you’re into white flowers. This is an alluring blend of tuberose, orange blossom and jasmine with fruity notes of sweet pear and bright bergamot. There’s something spicy, earthy in here, probably a blend of patchouli and vetiver that gets more noticeable once the perfume gets towards dry down. The addition of sweet vanilla balances the sharpness of the earthy notes.

I think what makes this particular tuberose scent almost nuclear (and smells a bit synthetic) is the ambroxan in the base. I own a couple of tuberose/jasmine/orange blossoms centred perfumes and none other have this intensity. And this one seems to be the only one that contains ambroxan!

Is it the most refined, natural and closest to what tuberose flowers smell in reality scent ever created?? Absolutely not! But this is a good compromise between a beautifully done tuberose scent and a scent that’s nearly nuclear in performance. And does cost an arm and a leg… And it’s a crowd pleaser…It’s ticking all the boxes!

If you want a more natural smelling tuberose try L’Orchestre Parfum’s Bouquet Encore, Goutal’s Tuberose, Alexander McQuin EDP, Gucci Bloom, Matiere Premiere’s French Flower, Botanicae’s Patio or Diptique Do Son. Maybe even Armani’s My Way Intense.

This is good, but there’s better tuberose out there!

fragrancefanatic212

Smells exactly like Parma-violets to me ( a sugary powdery violet sweet ). Performs well and dries into a sweet floral, not a fan at all but is a crowd pleaser from my experience.

asimpleperfumelover

Sweet white flower kingdom with tuberose as their queen, this perfume is simply majestic.

yara.xo

heavily powdery tuberose perfumes are my faaveee and this is no exception

Khushi95

This is such an elegant scent. Its sweet and floral and so intoxicating . From the beginning to the end this is a very classy perfume. It is timeless and empowering. This can also be a good wedding fragrance. If you’re sensitive to fragrances I suggest you to spray carefully as this is long lasting and projects really well. I use it for special occasions only as this is not your everyday kind of perfume. This works well in spring and cooler months and can get cloying in high heat.
This is one of the best designer perfume in my collection.

anaesthesiaangel

it’s so sweet, almost marzipan-y, but when you take a long whiff you smell some sort of stylised, fresh floral. It’s very classy and sophisticated. I can’t imagine it working on anyone who isn’t. on second smell i’m smelling menthol/cough syrup, or the carmex lip balm.

imacat88

Juicy obvious pear wish i like, green, fresh and a little bitter, the bitterness ruins it for me.

TarahB

This is one of the first perfumes that I added to my collection after I received a sample & fell in love, I’m just running out of the original bottle I purchased years ago, so a little does go a long way!
It’s always had good lasting power but has got stronger over time!
It’s floral, powdery & bold!
It’s a stand out fragrance, I’ve never smelt anything like it!❤️

TheCandyperfumegirl

These days we all want a perfume that will reach everyone's nose even if they're wearing a mask. If you're a white floral fragrance lover and you want to announce your presence with every move you make, you need L'Interdit EDP by Givenchy in your life. It has beast mode projection and lasts upto 10+ hours and even more on clothes and hair. Some may find the smell a bit matured because of the heavy white florals but I believe anyone can wear this if they're into floral perfumes.
Upon initial spray I get a grape juice/candy type smell and gradually the white florals take over the stage. It's a beautiful blending of Tuberose, Orange Blossom & sambac Jasmine. On my skin the orange blossom is the most prominent note but the other florals are noticeable too. Drydown is mostly Vanilla & Patchouli. On my skin the orange blossom and vanilla lasts till the end. It's simply gorgeous & elegant.
Personally I recommend it for colder days. But I don't think it will be too offensive in summer nights. Perfect for any occasions. If you're into sweet white floral Fragrances then you should give it a try.
If you're a migraine sufferer then I'll recommend you to avoid this because it's too heavy on the white florals and it may trigger your headache.

AnniePruana

Described as "white floral with dark accord" this is true for L'interdit. The dark accord is warm which I believe makes L'interdit suitable for a colder day in any season. It doesn't remind me of any other perfume. It's a good fragrance to have for a well balanced collection. Sometimes if I want it softer I layer with Versace Eros pour femme.

Schondis

This smells like a bar of soap my nan always used to have in her bathroom. As much as I loved her, I don't want to smell like her soap. It's definitely a clean smell though🤷

Dimanta

This is my favourite L'Interdit flanker. I tried it first at the airport but didn’t purchase it. Just sprayed on my skin and clothes and later forgot about it. Next day I kept getting sniffs of beautiful notes of pear, vanilla and jasmine, and then I remember it’s L'Interdit EDP from the airport. I had to get it, luckily it was on sale at the time so I purchased it.
I have to be honest, I rarely use it because it’s a bit too strong for my taste (even though I like strong perfumes). I feel like 1-2 sprays is enough for all day otherwise I start feeling nauseous and sick to my stomach. I do love the notes in this perfume, I feel it’s fresh but also sweet, lots of fruity notes (pear the most) but I probably I won’t be repurchasing it.

salomeow

I hate both My Way and this perfume,i guess this formula is just not for me.

thaochipnd

In some strange way, I hated My Way but was conquered by L'Interdit.

The Tuberose is a flirtatious and sensual flower, but L'interdit portrays it very well in a much softer, more elegant aspect. Of course, the inherent sexiness of Tuberose has not been lost. This is like Tuberose bubble gum, I can imagine how wonderful Audrey Hepburn smells when she wears it.

Rating: 8/10, timeless scent

Mishmish92

Love love love! I don’t get much of the floral note, to me it’s a fruity, earthy, calming. I wear this all times of the year, day or night! My go-to!

anjunakerry

I purchased this blind a few months a go cause i am a slave to white florals especially jasmine, Gardenia, magnolia, orange blossom and tuberose, but the tuberose as to be done right and in this case, for me...The tubrose has not been done right.

To me this doesn't smell anything like Armani- My way. I adore Armani my way and its flankers. I have a small bottle (30ml I think) of givenchy L'interdit and the tuberose in this is more indolic than it is "bubblegumy" like it is In my way. The tuberose in this comes off the same as the tuberose In my bottle of mancera- velvet Vanilla. And that was thr reason I sold my velvet Vanilla. Its one of the very few fragrances that gives me a headache.

L'interdit is super classy to my nose and not as playful as armani- my way. I've also ordered a bottle of Lataffa- fakhar Rose, which I'm now regretting since the general consensus here is that it smells very much like L'interdit rather than my way.

Of course, fragrance is subjective so I would give it like 3 out of 10 based on personal taste. But I'd give it 10 out of 10 for both longevity and projection. It's just not one of my favourite white floral fragrances but because of the performance, L'interdit is excellent value for money. Two sprays on my shirt and I could smell it 9 hours later.

moneo

The opening reminds me very much of Britney Spears' Curious. Both perfumes have similar notes in the opening, so it makes sense. The dry down of L'Interdit EdP is beautiful! It's the most day time scent out of all the L'Interdit, and it's a scent that's easy to wear in my opinion. Very feminine, round and clean. However, I find the sillage and longevity moderate to skin scent. Given it's price, it's not worth it. I'm glad I have it, and I will enjoy it until I run out, but it's definitely not getting a repurchase from me.

Zeddyteddy

I had a sample of this from a Boots store recently. I was excited to try it - the fragrance lady said it was her favourite and she always receives so many compliments. Oooof it’s not for me! It’s a strong chewing gum, grape, headache inducing mess. I had to wash it off and even then it still stuck around.

Macleay

I know Audrey Hepburn was not out here smelling like grape soda..you’ve got to be kidding me. Reformulations are a real bitch sometime.

loves2read

I got a sample because it was supposed to smell like My Way by Armani, but all I could smell was musk.
Strange. Not bat, but I was expecting something else.

slambthelamb

after wearing it only one time so far, i found it to smell a tad masculine after a while. when first sprayed, it reminds me of sweettarts, but there's also lots of warmth that prevents it from being overpoweringly sweet. i like it though. i probably wouldn't wear it a lot, but it'll be in rotation.

kinga.s.r.

It opens with vibrant delicious fruits, shortly after the flowers take the lead and then... the magic is gone. All I can smell after 5-10 minutes is a sugary patchouli & vetiver and that's definitely not my cup of tea. It's unoriginal, overwhelming and headache inducting. If you think about purchasing this fragrance, just wait a couple of minutes after testing it at a store, since the attractive opening may be misleading.

vanille23

im usually not a big floral fan but i do agree with the grape notes in the beginning!! it reminds me of the smell of some zara stores (i don't know if this is a thing everywhere but it definitely is in my home country?). once the grape disappears its dark and sexy and classy and just overall yum. this is a perfume you put on for a fancy night out 100%

lunarambrosia

Initial blast is like a grape gummy candy that you can immediately dismiss and then the white florals and sultry base notes come in and you can't disgregard it anymore. A weirdo that grabs your attention.

Aeternitas

I received L'Interdit as a gift from my mother a few years ago.
I can tell you that I would have never bought this for myself if I had smelled it at the store.

I like dark, deep, sometimes cool and incense-y fragrances.
By definition, this parfum is not exactly "me".
However, it has become a stand-out perfume in my collection, and I ended up loving it precisely because it is different from the others I have. I especially wear it on my casual days.
Perhaps I needed a gentle amber floral to keep me from being entirely broody.

The initial spray is like crushed Sweet Tarts in seltzer water; it couldn't be any less appealing to me at first, with an obnoxious blast of bergamot and pear.
Very soon after, the florals come center stage to take the edge off. Their presence is necessary to add the graceful and feminine allure which L'Interdit exudes.
Then, the perfectly thoughtful base notes give it that bit of warmth to keep it from being too light or "safe".

Absolutely demure and beautiful, like a cherished diamond ring you never take off.
It has average lasting power and average sillage, but it is perfectly wearable any day of the year.

KatherineTs

I LOVE IT!!!! It’s a big confidence booster when I wear it, makes me feel classy, confident, elegant, yet it has cosiness that makes me feel warm and comfortable. Beautiful and rich mix of white florals and tuberose that has a very beautiful bubble gum dry down. Its the best thing ever

Spudzie14

Grown up fragrance, but still sweet with a youthful grape bubblegum element. I typically go for vanilla gourmand scents, and this was my first venture into white florals which sometimes give me headaches but this one didn't. Dries down warm and cozy, def good for a late night date in colder months.

Akesuts

Safe for going out. It's classy yet modern at the same time, Best to wear in cold weather. Blended really lovely and quite a compliment getter, from women mostly. I'd say it has an artsy vibe of some sort. I can see theatre actresses wearing this.

n.ben885

I remember I wore this perfume once two years ago, biggest regret and trauma frl. I was outside and i sprayed this perfume, had to go home cause I was on the verge of puking, I had the biggest headache and felt like crying. It's so strong and floral/spicy that I just can't stand it... Everytime i smell this perfume it reminds me of that day, never again. 1/10.

*loves_shoes*

Sour patchouli dominates the opening.
And once you’ve smelled the acrid sting it’s hard to not keep noticing it.
If you know you love patchouli then I guess it’s a pretty safe buy.

smelling.sniffing.swan

There’s an ingredient used in this that just makes me feel sick.
My Way by Giorgio Armani has it too. Something in the vanilla accord i think.
I can only describe it as ‘rice pudding.’
Thick, gelatinous, creamy, sweetness, with a bit of sunscreen. Makes my stomach churn.

VERDICT: Imagine a really nice fragrance. This isn’t it.

Spaceystacey

Beautiful and sensual fragrance.
Received this as a gift for my birthday. I get so many compliments from it. L'interdit is a classy and sophisticated fragrance with soft pear and floral notes. It's not too sweet or overpowering and more understated and subtle. Perfect for a romantic evening or a classy event.
The price point is actually reasonable for what you get.
Highly recommend.

klu23

Nie w moim stylu. Bardzo ciężkie, mdłe i pudrowe. Przyprawiają mnie i inne osoby w otoczeniu o ból głowy.

Andy224

Beautiful long lasting, elegant and unique floral BOMB.

xNeverenderx

Tested this it out today and I couldn't put my finger on what it reminded me of. After a few hours of wear something clicked! It's reminds of Born in Roma. I would say they are cousins and you don't need both in your collection.

sarahh7

I got a decant of this to compare to my bottle of fakhar rose by lattafa to see which one I would rather buy. They smell very similar from the bottle and in their air, but fakhar is a much denser and stronger dna whilst this emphasises the light and fruity pear note. This is a nice fragrance but I’m dissapointed by it really, I had a 5mL decant and sprayed half and I can barely smell it. I just smell juicy pear and something slightly off in the background (might be the patchouli) with some very light florals. It’s a light and fruity scent but it has no wow factor. I’ll definitely be purchasing a full bottle of fakhar rose as it feels like this is imitating that, rather than the other way round. If you like light fragrances this will be nice but if you like heavy hitters fakhar will be the better option.

minettedelatour

I used to happily fumigate rooms and automobiles with the original Amarige, and now I can do the same with this incarnation of L’Interdit! On me, this reads sooo very close to the original Amarige. Kinda like a fraternal twin. I tried the current Amarige at the same time I tried this, and it was a thin, wispy, slightly sour ghost of its former self. This one must’ve sucked up all of Amarige’s life force in the womb. Lol. I can also sense Ropion’s hand in this, and that’s a good thing. I tend to enjoy his creations. I’d say this is a perfume for PERFUME lovers. Those of us who ramble through the decades and have miles and lots of perfume testing under our belts. Also those of us with personalities bigger than our perfumes. It’s not a shy scent, and I find it sophisticated and a bit in-your-face-I-love-perfume-whether-you-do-or-not. I think people who aren’t used to smelling full-on perfumes with a French twist might find it a little shocking at first. But it’s a great blast from the past for me. If you dug the ‘80s and early ‘90s perfumes, you’ll probably get this one’s vibe. No apologies here.

Malinda666

This one is a full-bodied elegant tuberose scent. Not at all sweet in mine opinion, So beautiful, 10/10.

olllivia

People say this smells exactly like My Way but I disagree. L'Interdit is more complex and woody, as well as being less sugary without the prominent jasmine.

I find this to be really sophisticated, it’s a classy type of fragrance without being mature.

River.c

A rush of sugary sweetness at first spray. In less than a minute the middle notes and the base notes start showing up, with the former leading the way. Very warm, sweet, and smoky floral.

My take as someone who has a weakness for white florals: I'm underwhelmed. If I get a whiff of this on someone else, I would definitely think that it smells clean, sweet, and exquisite right off the bat. On me, in between the initial spray and waiting for the dry down however, it's a tad too sweet (it's more of a personal preference thing). The fruits and florals get over taken by that brown sugar scent if you hyperfocus on sniffing it-- so beware for those who may not be a fan of sugary scents; there's that waiting window before the heady sweetness eases out. It becomes more powdery and the white florals (along with the ambroxan, which I find unfortunate as it gives that artificial, chemical edge) take over during the dry down...

Overall, it's a sweet and sophisticated fragrance. Not something I would wear everyday, but more of a mood perfume when I crave to smell sweet and sassy with a hint of old-timey sophistication... ... Is it a must-have? Nah. It's nothing ground-breaking and you can pretty much layer cheaper fragrances in your stash to get a similar effect. But is it interesting? I guess if you consider the way the middle notes do a tango with the base notes on a sticky sugary floor, sure.

wowzacat

The only pear note I got from this perfume was as I was smelling the bottle; it completely disappeared as soon as it made contact with my skin.

I find this a more mature scent. The bergamot starts strong and zesty (without being citrus-y), turning into a softer but intense bouquet of white florals, the orange blossom firmly present, although the jasmine wasn't very noticeable to me.

In the die-down, the patchouli is discreet with a slight spiciness, however, the tuberose remains the main character as the vanilla, barely noticeable, seems to come from the vetiver, which charmingly accompanies the white flowers.

After about an hour I could barely smell it on my skin.

It's a nice perfume for those who like to stay safe within the boundaries of their comfort zone.

Poudery sweet pear

mrsz.o-o

It's okay, I find it a little nauseating if I overspray. I do, however, really enjoy the pear in this!

I find that this pairs gorgeously well with Pas Ce Soir.

Hanavanille

I received a sample of this, hated this scent from the first spray on my wrists (Instant headache), I received a compliment just from that first spray by a family member but still I hated it had to scrub it from my wrists.
Through this, I found out that tuberose isn't for me!

I LOVED this scent at first… It’s mature, heavy fruity, warm and a rounded “candy” sweet. I tried it on and the initial spritz is a fruity sweet with almost root beer note(another commenter said and it is fitting) that wears down into a tuberose/patchouli/vanilla scent. To me this is a heavy fall/winter mature perfume. Of course once I heard this was the iconic scent that Audrey wore, I had to try, but given the descriptions and comments of how it has seemed be “modernized”and tampered with, I don’t believe this is the same scent she wore. While it may not be the original scent and did not last very long on me(maybe an hour), I was still going to commit and buy a full size bottle UNTIL I read that people think it smells like grape candies. My husband loved the scent on me and said it reminded him of something, I then made the mistake of mentioning the grape comments and he said it reminded him of the grape medicine (Children’s Robitussen/Dimetap) we took as kids. I HATED that medicine and now I am unable to wear this iconic perfume because he is totally right and now it’s ALL I can smell! If I could unread/unhear grape candy/medicine comments, I would adore this perfume. But they are right and the longevity is simply non existent for the price point. So, while I might try to revisit L’Interdit in the future, for now it’s a no.

toff.tiozon

An opulent, lush white-floral fragrance that kicks off with a vibrant root beer and anise burst upon the first spritz.

shery k

so feminine, classy, fruity juicy..
sweet

Anhar

Smells refined but the fruity note makes it girly without being juvenile, longevity 12+ hours on me. It can be worn all year round, every ocasion. I know it's portrait as a fragrance made for Audrey Hepburn but I doubt it has anything in common with the original formula. Smells very contemporary.

Sarra816

I just fell in love when smelling this in store and on a friend, then bought it immediately. The scent is sweet, playful, elegant, but sophisticated. The sweet tuberose darkens with the patchouli, vanilla, and vetiver and makes it addictive. My only complaint is that, it has no staying power, even when I overspray.

This perfume would be a ten if it had better longevity and projection. it has little sillage also- I barely smell it on my clothes after an hour. It is a shame it is a captivating spicy floral scent with a disappointing performance.

IVamp

This was an impulse purchase that I regretted later. I am crazy about mature feminine floral scents with a retro vibe, so when I first smelled this, I just fell in love and bought it immediately. The scent is indeed addictive, elegant, and sexy in a sophisticated way. Unfortunately, it lasts less than an hour on me, even if I overspray, and it has no sillage whatsoever - I barely smell it on my clothes, not at all on my skin. Captivating spicy floral scent but very disappointing performance.

electric_evelyn

I managed to own all three at the same time: the two Givenchy, EDP and EDT, and My Way.

L' Interdit EDP: a dark and ambery tuberose, slightly spicy and quite bitter. Honestly out of the three, this is the most uninteresting to me.
L' Interdit EDT: an explosion of orange, tuberose and jasmine, quite juicy and just the right amount of sweetness. Quite uplifting and gives a good feeling.
Armani My Way: makes me think about light, as opposed to dark (the darkness in L'Interdit EDP). I'd say this is more similar to L'Interdit EDT. Both citrusy, a bit sweet and flowery. These two will not choke you or those around you.

acidgypsycat

One of my favourite scents. Very flowery, I don't really sense much in it except jasmine and tuberose. Very elegant. The only minus I can find it doesn't hold at all, I have to reapply like 10 times per day to keep smelling it.

LEM922

Damn! She’s kind of spicy! I was a little shook when I sprayed this. For people comparing it to my way? Absolutely not. This is a whole different beast of a tuberose fragrance. I find my way to be a very grape-y, bubblegum tuberose. L’interdit is NOT. This is a very spicy, narcotic tuberose fragrance. Very sexy. Almost a little root beer-ish.. it definitely has that sweetness, but not in a sugary, fruity way. The vetiver at the bottom of this grounds it VERY well… I smell the jasmine, as well. Unfortunately, I do not detect either pear or bergamot. This is floral through and through. Very elegant white floral scent. I like this a lot!

QuietBeauty

Once the weather gets colder, I automatically reach for this. I don't even think about it. It is my safe reach. But hear me out! It is not for everyone. I like to dress elegantly and this perfume is just cherry on top.
There is some fruity-ness I just love. My bf says he smell strawberry in the opening... Once it settle, it become more serious but still kinda playful, yet still elegant.
I would not consider this to a signature scent, because it is not all-year-round fragrance. I would probably wear this in the beginning of spring but NEVER in summer.
You can wear this to office (don't overspray), church, theater... Shopping .. it's a little bit dressed up perfume. I would not reach for this grocery shopping in sweatpants and messy-oily bun you know 😁

lucy1804

This is not something I’d reach for personally, but I see how it’s pleasant to most. I found myself liking it more, the longer it was on my skin. It’s a very strong perfume. The tuberose is definitely prominent, but not as headache inducing as most. I can see how it’s be alluring to a middle aged woman as it’s mature, but could be worn on a date. It’s very long lasting as I only used a dab from a tester and yet it lasted to the next day.

Woodamber

A sophisticated and smooth scent of white florals. I like it alot. The notes of pear and tuberose blend perfectly well together. It smells so creamy and lovely with a hint of sweetness.
It feels suitable for any time and moment of the year.

Yessamin

My tester card states: the underground flower.
A white flower crossed by a dark woody accord.

It is very good and intense sexy and dark at the same time. Sadly gives me headaches.

MayaZgb

Loveee it, never had prefume with mix of notes like this. It last long and projection is good.

It feels good.

For strong and independent woman.

livaola

smells so fresh, and has a beautiful floral scent. i love wearing it and it gets me so many compliments! it smells very clean but i cant see it as a 'signature scent'

Sinikat7

It's funny someone mentioned grape bubblegum, it does kind of smell like that, or like grape jelly. It's pretty, cheerful, and sparkly, but a bit too synthetic and sweet for my taste.

Update: dont spray this on your clothes. Sprayed my jacket by accident, and the overly synthetic bubblegum sweetneess has lasted for 2 weeks, making me nausous. It made me hate the scent.

amnebe

I was really curious about this perfume but almost afraid to try it because I don't like some other perfumes like My Way and Prada Paradoxe that tend toward a "purple" scent. But I immediately fell in love with it. The initial scent does have a grape undercurrent from the orange blossom, but the tuberose combines with it to turn it into something I love, and that's what I was hoping since I love tuberose. The opening also has a candy scent like Smarties candy -- or maybe Pez candy is a better description because of its faint sweet but floral notes. After about an hour, the purple scent diminishes somewhat into the background, and you're left with Smarties/Pez and a faint scent that's like evergreen boughs, vetiver, and faint patchouli with maybe a bit of vanilla. It's really lovely and addictive. My husband said he liked it, but it smelled like someone's great-aunt. Maybe I want to smell like someone's great-aunt because she had good taste in perfume.

MariaGabrielaKristina

I really love the smell around a hour after spraying. It is something classic in it, but at the same time very modern, clean and sexy.
I would like to used in the spring/autumn evenings.

fangpili

This has a beautiful bottle and name but the perfume is otherwise pleasant but generic and forgettable. This is a spring/autumn light, daytime perfume that would be mature and inoffensive in an office setting. However, it lacks imagination and personality. For this reason, I would never choose this as a regular or signature perfume, or repurchase it.

Hifza

I am in regret that I discovered this fragrance so late, it's so mature and on the other hand it's also for happy-go-lucky kind of people! One would enjoy this wearing to a romantic dinner or to a game night or to a club as well. It's like an all-rounder!
What I like the most about it is that it's modern yet sober, sophisticated yet simple. It's not too much to wear but it's like everything, as with the first spray, it's not just the scent you get, it comes up with the elegance and grace in your personality as well.

Crocus

If you want to smell like grape bubble gum this is for you!

Fonna2

It's the common fruity patchouli scent with smoke..
I don't know what the original smelled like, but to me, the current scent this is the same scent I smell almost everywhere. It's definitely not the 80's , but it's definitely the 2010s.
The 80's had scent bombs like Obsession and Poison. All musks with heavy resins and florals, and they were not light.
I don't even think we knew what patchouli was back then , and we certainly were not smelling like fruit!. LOL

Once one gets past the common sweet patchouli scent, there is a milky note then it gets smokey and lightly smells like grass(vetiver) I cannot smell any jasmine nor tuberose, nor vanilla. Not long lasting, and at the end, the skin has the scent of fruit scented lotion.

I am sure this once smelled gorgeous, but like a lot of frags out there, they seem to load it up with patchouli and water, and reenter it into the perfume world as the same frag. Like a comment I read earlier, I would rather go to a proper funeral than to have a resurrected zombie.
Excuse me while I scrub this and apply my Organza.

jswenson

I'm a 22 year old guy sporting this stuff to the clubs/bars. Any age/gender can pull this off. Anyone from 5 years old to 100 years old can wear this. AGE DOESN'T MATTER!!

aenflex

This gives me 80s vibes, particularly those 80s fragrances marketed to teen girls. It’s loud, it’s sweet, it’s unapologetic. One of those Bic perfumes, or Electric Youth, perhaps? I’m thinking Lisa Frank, I’m thinking tight rolled jeans, poofy bangs, hair spray and charm bracelets; a 15 year old with a mouth full of grape Bubbleyum, doused with approximately half a bottle of whatever perfume was in her most recent Christmas stocking, leaning in close to whisper gossip in my ear at recess. I honestly don’t understand how anyone thinks this fragrance isn’t for the youth, it definitely is. It IS youth.

On the more modern side of things, this reminds me of Ange ou Demon Le Secret Elixir ca. 2011, or Alien ca. 2013. Jasmine, Patchouli, Citrus, Woods.
Bang, in-your-face loud, but not screechy. Very round, full, very sweet, very grape-like. I prefer hyper realistic florals untainted by thick, artificial saccharine notes.

Lasting power is great. Sillage is great. In a modern designer fragrance, those qualities are appreciated.

There are so many of these types of fragrances these days. Oriental floral/fruit-choulis. So sweet as to be cloying in the right context. Not for me. But I do rate the longevity and sillage.

Rosebud1503

Not Audrey Hepburn's fragrance. The current formulation was quite literally designed by a committee. Rather pedestrian at the onset. It improves after it opens up over one to two hours. Neither subtle or a beast. Just a fragrance with no mystery or soul.

jdb_

Sweet bubblegum with an earthy orange blossom and a hint of woodsiness. I prefer my scents to have a little more sass, but if you were looking for something classic, glamorous, and feminine this is a respectable well composed option. I think it would suit special occasions, but the projection is pretty soft.

Ps gets a little sexier as it dries down. All adult ages, but gotta have the elegance to match it in my humble opinion.

Emoody

Not for juveniles whatsoever. This perfume is for matured women who have their shit together. It’s not something I would want to smell on single, playful lively women. But rather on a respectful married woman with a house, beautiful kids and a good looking husband in his forties. Cause the scent screams laundry area in a contemporary home.

PeacefulSunshine

Oh my! o_o

... Now THIS is a perfume! Such confident feminine energy. I don't see this as über sexy or villainous like a few others have said, but more for a worldly woman who radiates femininity but has dealt with some hard experiences in life that have made her realize that life isn't always full of sunshine and rainbows. Like, this is for a vintage-loving demure woman who is the opposite of trendy preppy--I can see why Givenchy used Rooney Mara as their campaign model for L'interdit.

Slightly reminds me of Shalimar (and "Nomade" by Chloé) except I like this a little better.

L'interdit is for the gal who will happily rock a hoodie on cold days hanging out with friends, but will also look amazing af in a well-fitted dress for a big party. This is totally FBW for me.

AUyliong

From what I can tell the differences between Rouge and the EDP is very minor but enough to change the character. There something spicier yet also fruitier thing going on here. Rouge also feels more ephemeral than the EDP. The L'Interdit DNA is still there but everything feels softer, smoother and more fleeting. Even the way this fades away feels more dainty compared to the EDP.

AUyliong

I like this scent quite a lot.

It's a very sophisticated, mature and luxurious woman's scent. Smells like someone who's had success in their life or was born into wealth. In the office or out and about, it makes the wearer smell like she commands the place. Exquisite.

It also smells like the scent of a woman who's had a femme fatale villain arc in her life. If Coco Mademoiselle is the prim and proper, good and obedient girl all grown up, L'interdit is the bad girl all grown up. She's seen and done things in her life. It's sexy in that way.

Can be worn in the morning or evening. In the office or just promenading. It's quite versatile.

francesco_grieco

L'Interdit by Givenchy showcases remarkable blending skills. Its core essence is a dominant white floral theme, with tuberose taking the lead in a delicate and non-overbearing manner. A syrupy pear makes it sweet and juicy, and patchouli and vetiver contribute oriental and warmer dimensions to the scent, fostering a harmonious interplay of contrasting elements. These notes don't clash; instead, they collaborate in a beautifully orchestrated concert, yielding a perfectly balanced fragrance.

London Lady

I enjoy this scent very much and particularly like the idea that I am wearing something designed for the ultra-glamorous Audrey Hepburn - how much kudos can a perfume get? One spray of this and I instantly feel next-level chic!

This is a perfume that stands out, so I guess it's not for everyone. It is probably one of those scents that you need to have the right chemistry for - I suppose I'm saying it could go very right or very wrong!

I ALWAYS get compliments when I wear this, even from strangers standing near me in a shop or in a queue.

L'interdit is a warm, sensual, cosy smell. I personally couldn't wear it in summer (I did try!) as it just doesn't have that bright freshness you need on hot-sweaty days, but at the first sign of autumn I was reaching for this again and immediately engulfed in a soft cloud of the thrill of 'the forbidden.'

Kitskivich

My grandmother wore L'Interdit in the 60s and 70s. It was a very elegant fragrance.

Ironically, the current iteration of L'Interdit is 1985 in a bottle. I do appreciate that the younger women are rocking it, but it's a bit much for me (probably the tuberose).

AinoKaroliina

When I smelled this it immediately made me think of sour green apple flavored Hubba Bubba bubblegum. Once the scent had time to really settle down I could sense more nuances. The fruit note in this perfume is powdery, which is something I haven't come across before in perfumes. The bergamot makes the scent tangy and less flat. I can clearly smell the florals in this, but they aren't intense enough to overpower the fruityness. In the base notes I can clearly smell the patchouli and the vanilla softens the vibe a little.

The only L'Interdit fragrances that I have thoroughly tested are this and the Rouge Ultime and neither are my style, but this is more wearable in my opinion because Rouge Ultime is exceedingly sweet and the florals are more intense on that one whereas this is a bit more toned down. Still this is a strong scent that doesn't need to be sprayed a lot to project and last long.

scenteena

Another fragrance lamb that has been slaughtered! They need to let some of these classic scents rest in peace. A decent burial is better than an unrecognizable zombie. I'd rather attend the funeral than witness an exhumation. My former signature, Ysatis, has also been butchered. HALF the notes are now missing and both the bottle and box are plain and generic.. Then after emaciating the perfume, like another poster mentioned, they have the gall to keep the same name. No, Givenchy, No!

iksir

Too strong on the florals and obnoxiously cloying. Also quite boring. Don’t like it.

Dreamerdreamer

This is another masterpiece by Givenchy! The perfume opens with a juicy pear at the top and gives way to a floral heart note with a very ambroxan heavy base note. What I smell is a perfume that is sweet but not juvenile. It is playful, yet it is wise. It is sexy and seductive, but also classy.

The only downside if this perfume, is that it is not very compatible with wearing in summer, otherwise I would have made it my signature scent.

Mira20040313

This is probably the best smelling perfume that I know. I don't own it yet but if I did, there's nothing else I would need. Loooooove it so much

faevert42

This is a loud and beautiful white floral with a lot of presence. It is very feminine with great longevity. With tuberose this strong, the wearer needs to be very confident. It is sexy. I cannot imagine this to be worn in an office. It is more of a nighttime scent for sure.

psychedelicious

This is a perfectly fine perfume but nothing mind blowing. I have wanted L’Interdit Rouge for ages but when I found a 20 ml roller of this one at the airport I just went for it. It has a nice juicy smell but nothing special other than that. I would classify it as more of a young, feminine and summery smell and definitely a daytime scent.

I’m glad I didn’t buy a bigger bottle because I almost never ever reach for this one except maybe after being at the gym. I definitely should have spared the money for the Givenchy scent I actually wanted.

neome

Very earthy patch with a little bubblegummy, not at all indolic tuberose, it works! It feels nostalgic, not dated, it has a modern edge but still reminds me of something from a different era.
The vibe is Lush tank battle - but feminine and wearable. If you like this and you could pull off an edgier take on the earthy patchouli with pink bubblegum, check that out.
I just wish it didnt have ambroxan in it, i cant smell it as a note but it gets under my skin after a while and ruins any great fragrance.

CarrieWhite

Too strong, to me it's unwearable. I tried this perfume on and I immediately needed tò wash It away because It gave me headache

autumnblue914

Finally got a bottle of my own of it because it was on such a good deal. I love it a lot, but I do love the Rouge and the Intense a tiny bit more, however this one is more versatile and I regret nothing.

I also own My Way and it irks me that people would say these two smell similar. The only similarities - both versatile, tuberose dominant scents with a bubblegum opening. As soon as that initial blast of bubblegum is gone the similarities end.

My Way is more upbeat and cheerful, not to say it's juvenile but it's less serious and less of a "boss" vibe if that makes sense.

L'Interdit is more of a creamy, classy tuberose for any occasion. It can be fun, sexy, serious. To my nose it smells spicier than what the notes would indicate in the drydown. Maybe it's the woodiness tricking my nose.

Cavicchia

I have a small bottle of the original, vintage L'Interdit because it was my grandmother's favourite and reminds me of her. It has some very light fruit notes (strawberry, I believe) florals, amber, tonka and, of course, aldehydes. I was excited to try this one,
to see how similar it was but the answer is, not at all. This one doesn't have many similar notes, so why give it the same name? The new one smells like a lot of other recent perfumes but there is a very strong, not very realistic fruit note that is most present. I'm trying to find something else memorable about it, but I can't. It's not unpleasant, just not at all what the original scent was.

toosimilar

@Denisa Aiko not this one, it's a new formulation (in fact, a completely new fragrance)

Denisa Aiko

I wouldn’t recommend u to blind buy this one. U def need to test it before. I bought this cuz I heard that this was Audrey Hepburn’s fav. I should’ve test it:( the scent itself is beautiful and smells like spiced grape juice but too much patchouli and vetiver. If this was more light and creamy I would have love this. 5/10

Shaia

Picked this perfume for myself as a last minute gift from someone else. To me this smelled expensive, unique and fresh when I bought it in 2019. Its definitely a day time perfume. It smells like an expensive department store, enhances the shopaholic mood. Recently picked up the Jimmy Choo EDP which I think smells similar enough at a lower price point. Not sure if I would repurchase but enjoying this bottle for now.

snoopy2

L’Interdit came out 4 years before Paradoxe.

Pwaladdi

I Absolutely adore this fragrance, but I don’t know why my nose keeps picking up a coconut milk kinda scent. I love it regardless. 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

kittenpawz

Horrible horrible smell as if someone tried to disguise a bad body odor by overspraying a dated perfume. Armpitty patchouli and dusty tuberose with a citrus overload. You have to be anosmic to patchouli to pick up any sweetness. The gentler notes are completely dominated by the heavy and abrasive ones. Loud, vulgar, screechy, vile - both on a person and in the trail. In the trail!!! Particularly vile ones as a general rule leave a less unpleasant trail but here it's just as bad. "Animalic" turned to the max and then some. The scent is very befitting the fact that Givenchy is capitalizing on the legendary name to make bank. Audrey Hepburn - the original Givenchy muse - was a lady with a big personality who remained gentle and delicate throughout her life, this one is nowhere near that image. Check out the pyramid of her L'Interdit to see what you're missing.
A celebrity that's the face of a designer fragrance typically is supposed to represent the idea behind the fragrance, so I could never imagine Rooney Mara advertising this. Characters like RuPaul or Amanda Lepore on the other hand would fit right in.

The Black Metal Barbie

I was so excited when i bought it and tonight a friend who was sitting next to me told me that smells like camphor 😭🥹

lanascherry

Imagine diluting a bunch of glucose and citric acid in Fanta Grape and using it as a perfume- Cloying, biting… sticky. An attempt of a strong perfume that fails because it lacks base. No, thank you.

Peaches&Cream

I was on the fence about buying this perfume since I read reviews of some people saying it is a strong scent. I kept coming back since the notes interested me and also I liked most of the notes shown.

I tested this in stores and instantly this was a love at first sniff. I bought it and worn it out and to my nose this smells like baby powder but more mature with tuberose, orange blossom, jasmine, ambroxon, patchouli and vetiver. The lasting power is tremendously good (12+ hours) on skin and clothes!! I love getting whiffs of this fragrance during the day. I received a compliment that the perfume smells so good.

I feel like this can be worn all year round but not in the early summer in the heat, it’s better to wear in the mid-late summer as the temps start to drop without the perfume being cloying.

atapia11

am i the only one that smells grape soda when i smell this?

shewantsthe_dhp

i can understand why it's divisive. it's the male gaze in a bottle. most of the positive reviews are surrounding the frequency of compliments received from men (who are, more likely than not, wearing CK One). l'interdit is perfect for the days you feel like being objectified, it's disgusting, but there's mortal beauty in it's rancidness once you survive the initial shockwave.

it sort of reminds me of how porn stars get tattoos just so they wouldn't be cast in "barely legal" roles. it reminds me of getting dressed up to go sleep with a guy who exclusively wears sweatpants in the back of a beat-up ford sierra. it's texting someone as an act of self harm, it's examining yourself in the mirror afterwards. it smells like how you feel when you over-explain why you don't want to come to a social gathering. "i would really want to come, but my friend has so-and-so, and my this-and-that" and all the other filler when a "no" would've been a complete answer.

there's an innocence and naivety to it. i think it puts a lot of people off at first sniff. but underneath the nauseating tuberose, there's depth and sorrow. this perfume has cradled me throughout my early 20s no matter how hard i try to find something more sophisticated.

Pwaladdi

This is definitely not for the introverts out there because you will receive loads of compliments trust me. Went out looking for the black or red version but I was pleasantly impressed with this. Love at first smell.

Cherry08

This scent has been around a while but I had to leave a review about the amazing performance this gives. I get compliments every time I wear this, it lasts all day and it just smell’s beautiful. I have a large collection and this/all the linterdidt line has to be one of the best designer scents out there.

pinotos802

I don't get the hype with this one. It's just like it dissapears from my skin after 30 min. Skin scent with very weak projection and I'm not pleased at all with its longevity.

Anto88

One of those perfumes that makes me sick. Quite similar to Dudù by Zeromolecole.

pinkavocado

Weird scent, do not understand hype

Katringlory

If this perfume was a woman, she would be strong but with a dark sense of humour and above all, inviting. Like seeing a close friend after not seeing them for a long time and feeling the comforting sense of being understood in a way no one else gets you. Comforting because you can laugh with this friend because you share the same developed-over-the-years sense of humour. This woman is guarded to most people but with you she can be herself. Just pure unbridled joy and a sense of relief!

Candypopinlove

This perfume really shocked me! I went looking for a birthday perfume, and originally I had my sight set on scandal by jpg. I'd heard good things about this perfume, but the notes didn't stick out to me, as I prefer slightly more gourmand scents. But omg! I asked for a sniff of this one, and instantly changed my mind on the other fragrance. This is sooooo good! I can't even really explain the scent, as I'm not used to these notes. But just know it smells amazing!!

WearyWanderer

Sadly, I misjudged this beauty after getting a spoiled sample. Months later I decided to revisit it while at the pharmacy and wow! Instant love. It’s tuberose, it’s floral, it’s spicy, it’s pear, and it’s all perfectly blended and balanced. A worthy addition to the lineup of Givenchy, which is quickly becoming my favorite perfume house surpassing even Guerlain. I love how it evolves when I wear it, first spices then fruity then floral and then its true character unfurls like magic and lasts all day. Projection with this one needs to be carefully managed as I prefer my perfume to be discovered not announced, so half a spray or a spray behind my collar will get the job done. Truly a gem that feels like it’s from a different era—I know this isn’t the Audrey Hepburn perfume but I can picture her wearing it. If you love Organza, Lancôme Poême, L’Instant Guerlain and early 90s glam, I recommend this!

OloraGolosina

I just discovered I looooove Jasmine. The opening smells like a fruit but I could not identify which one was it, I read that the notes are pear and bergamot, I think more of strawberries in cream, but let's go with that, shortly after, all I can smell is the jasmine which is so subtle, delicate, feminine and classy; it is very longlasting and the projection is probably 1.5 mt from where you are standing. I can see how overpraying could ruin the experience as this is nuclear. I thinks it's so beautiful, I would imagine this one being the younger pretty and delicate sister of the more experience man eating Alien by Mugler. I was thinking on buying Alien but I will buy this one first, it's not worth having both as the smell is very similar, the concentration is what seems to vary plus the opening.

SnowIce

Oh how i love this one! Delicious, rich, attractive, erotic! It's hard for me to understand the negative comments, but apparently this can be experienced and smelled in so many ways which is interesting. A stylish bouquet that I could wear at my own wedding.

electric_evelyn

Sweet, liniar tuberose. It stays pretty much the same as soon as you spray it.
I wanted this to be my signature, but it's not so special after all.

Lilah_lilah2023

On me it becomes disgustingly nauseating, the spicy notes are absolutely unbearable, I cannot stand it, sorry. I usually like woody florals and musky perfumes. This one is too strong for my taste and there's something in it I really cannot stand (must be patchouli), like in Z&V perfumes. It didn't smell that awful in the store, so I don't know, must be the effect it has on my skin. Definitely not wearable daily, at work or similar. It could give headaches to people around you (and possibly to yourself, if you're anything like me 😁)

MariaGabrielaKristina

It brings me a classy, retro memories like a beautiful lady with red lipstick I met on a fancy restaurant...
I love that smell !

Zevota

This one is so strong I get an immediate headache from a couple of sprays. And I am generally not very sensitive.

BrokeandBougie

I wanted to like this, I really did. But there’s something so stuffy, and sickly sweet in it that makes me nauseous. It’s a scrubber.

Melody Valentine

I like it. It IS a white floral but with a bit of a twist. I feel like it would be very bubblegummy, which I don't mind anyway, but the patchouli underneath makes it seem more vintage and spicy. The way it mixes with the tuberose makes it seem more heavy and "perfumey" I don't think it's that much like My Way for that reason. It dries down quite soapy. It's decently strong too. I've never owned a bottle but I've had a few samples and always really liked it. I find it quite sexy but it can be worn as a day time scent too. Just use less if people around you are sensitive to perfumes. I've been bored by most designer perfumes over the last so many years but this one stands out. I first got samples of this and Mon Guerlain Intense around the same time and both of them, even though they're very different, stood out from all the others. I'd not tried it for ages til just now though and it's just as good as I remembered, even after all the niche perfumes I've tried since and my tastes changing a lot. It's not the most complex perfume in the world but it doesn't have to be. It got me compliments when I wore it out and with it only being a sample I didn't overspray to the degree I usually would with perfume, which is a LOT, I probably use more than an entire sample every day. I would, and will, buy a full bottle at some point.

Angekkuma

she had so much potential. everything about this perfume is gorgeous except that patchouli/earthy note that makes it turn sour and overpowering, similar to la vie este belle. this would be a perfect fragrance if it were just a little more subtle and less medicinal. instead it is nauseating.

Paintedtrillium

Testing this today. My husband immediately complimented me on it. That is rare for him. Lots has been said already. To add my two cents: There is an interesting balance of light/bright with rich/dark. I was skeptical based in the differences in opinion, but my own personal opinion is that this is a unique addition to my scent wardrobe. Top notes are Pear and Bergamot; middle notes are Tuberose, Orange Blossom and Jasmine Sambac; base notes are Patchouli, Vanilla, Ambroxan and Vetiver. Very nice. I am surprised to find that I like it as much as I do. And since my husband likes it, it is a win.

Hybrid77

I’m a guy and I layer this with Narcotic Flower. OMG.

toosimilar

Grapatchouli ;)
Feels like tons of grape juice + patchouli massiveness :)
In fact, the scent is rather pleasant, but becomes quite boring really quickly
I believe it's because of a simple composition lying on a strong basis of patchouli
The projection is great, not sure about the longevity, not a fan of a modern version

smellynora

The opening was very grape-bubblegum - too strong for my taste. I live in a hot, humid environment so I usually sweat off perfumes but the strong opening lasted for a while. It's a less tolerable version of Azzaro's Wanted Girl by Night.

My friend commented that she could smell the perfume but it smelt cloyingly sweet and a bit cheap. I'm afraid I agree, after a while the smell became really irritating - think rich aunt hugging you for a few seconds too long and you're desperately trying to pull away from her tight grasp—definitely a more "mature" scent for a wealthy and dignified wearer who is able to confidently carry it off.

Perhaps the kind of scent you want to wear during rush hour on public transport if you want to keep people away from you, but not the kind of scent you'd wear in a crowded place if you were a considerate person.

Headache inducing in the summer and definitely not the warm embrace I'd want in a winter perfume. Not something for an office environment or even a date night - perhaps for a formal event, but even then I'd reach for something more gourmand and inviting.

I will say that it became slightly more tolerable around 4 hours from spraying once the tuberose and jasmine kicked in. Yet I still found myself desperately scrubbing my wrist in the shower - definitely a reminder to spray on the testing strip first.

I know this is popular - I wish I could smell what everyone else does. Unfortunately, it's not for me. A shame because it's rare that a perfume lasts this long on me and has such good projection. At least the juice is quality....

Asoss

On My skin this smells like ripe Wild strawberries (i picked them yesterday) ...just unbeatable in spring and summer mornings..my precious

widowcat

This is like catnip to men. My boyfriend won’t stop smelling me when I wear this. He said it smells “intoxicating” so do with that what you will. This is definitely in my top 3 fragrances. It’s a seductive white floral and you will definitely feel powerful while wearing it! Kinda has a sharp grape candy smell which I love.

astralmonad870

Sorry but tuberose always smells like bubblegum to me, and this perfume smells like South Korean grape bubblegum.

fleurtje0

I love this fragrance! I feel like it goes year round. It's a lovely fresh floral, sweet but not sickeningly so. The jasmine in it is beautiful.

allieferraro

Bought this (incorrectly, meant to purchase the tiolette), and immediately realized it reminded me of a perfume I used to have. After racking my brain, I realized it smells exactly like Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture.....lol. Smells good but definitely very mid 2000's, which I guess is in style right now anyway? Not what I was expecting, that is for sure.

daridoodles

I really wanted to like this as it was a gift from my mom. Hubert de Givenchy had created it for Audrey Hepburn. And "L'Interdit" in French means forbidden. Sadly, despite giving this scent numerous tries, this one was not for me. The tuberose and patchouli were too much. I found it cloying and off putting. I kept hoping it would improve in the dry down, but it only got worse. I tend to find heavy tuberose fragrances nauseating, so clearly I would not have chosen this at the department store. I ended up giving back to my mom who was quite happy to use it.

suzanne_ronald

LIGHT & BRIGHT Tuberose & Orange-Blossom with RICH & DARK Vanilla-Patchouli drydown. After the opening pear-citrus, the tuberose here is bubblegum creamy with a green-banana quality, while the orange blossom adds a fluffy, softness to the effervescent citrus of bergamot, and the result is overall a bubblegum tuberose, like orange-lemon-lime Hubba Bubba. There is also a clean & faintly tropical vibe from the orange-blossom. A few hours into the drydown you get a swoon-worthy, rich & dark, vanilla-patchouli blend.

This scent reminds me of a holiday slush my mom used to make, of blended frozen concentrated lemonade & bananas that she kept in the freezer. She would scoop it into a glass and add 7-Up or Sprite and a little stir. As kids we lived for this slushie drink during the holidays. The opening and heart of this scent reminds me of that. I've loved this scent since L'Interdit 2003, and this iteration is no exception. Seekers & collectors of tuberose scents won't be disappointed.

Contrast to L'Interdit EDT 2019:
These will be quite similar to those new to this scent profile, but the EDP is a little more intense overall with the vanilla-patchouli drydown, whereas vetiver is more forward in the drydown of the EDT. Both have excellent performance.

Contrast to My Way Giorgio Armani:
These are different, but there are similarities with a bubblegum tuberose. My Way is more like chewing grape Hubba Bubba while walking in a cedar forest, and has very distant reminders of Poison Dior, while L'Interdit EDP has a more forward orange-blossom with a richer vanilla-patchouli drydown. Both have excellent performance.

Contrast to Fakhar Rose Lattafa:
These are different, but Fakhar Rose is a dupe of L'Interdit and is a fairly good approximation, although the drydown of L'Interdit EDP is richer. Fakhar Rose has a very faint coconut note for some noses, and requires a few weeks of dark storage after first sprays to develop performance, after which I personally find the performance excellent although L'Interdit EDP outperforms.

Contrast to L'Interdit 2003:
At first I was slightly dissappointed as I was hoping this would smell more like the 2003 L'Interdit. However, the longer it matures in the bottle, the more the opening and heart actually smell very close to L'Interdit 2003.

Overall: A beautiful tuberose & orange-blossom scent profile with rich drydown, that's easy to wear and easy to like. This is a longtime love for me. Tuberose lovers, enjoy!

katie02kat

Do you know what it smells like? When you wear the scent it screams,It's not my scent, but not bad overall

_Aerides

This is Vicks Vaporub bubblegum to my nose 😭

Lasts forever too, shame I couldn't enjoy it :c

ktp2309

Can easily be worn by a man. I'm a straight hairy male and I rock this beauty. The jasmine, tuberose and patchouli goes a little "deep and dirty" on my skin. Gorgeous!!!

Nil3

Tried it again now that it finally got warmer .
Love it love it love it.

Agree wholeheartedly with the comment below.
Spicy sweet sexy mysterious floral !
On my wish list !

feuermaiden

This was gifted to me by my husband after he went looking for something similar to Female Christ by 19-69, and while it has a warm similarity to it, this one is quite different - more sweet and rich smelling. By rich, I mean money. To me, this smells like a rich woman on a mission.

Heavy, sweet floral that wears well in the winter and colder months - especially at night or out to dinner or other formal events. It doesn't give grandma, which is pretty much all I ask for in floral fragrances. I don't think this is a great summer scent as it is very strong on me and has crazy sillage, it would absolutely give somebody a headache in the heat.

I would describe it as rich, alluring, mysterious, and classy.

joikgirl

This is quite easy to review. L’inderdit Rouge is my favourite winter fragrance and this is the OG. My weakness is white floral fragrances and this is a tuberose heaven with jasmine, orange blossom and that subtle patchouli with vanilla . I love a good strong patchouli in my fragrance, but for some this may be too heavy. That sneaky pear though- amazing, so light but there. A long lasting fragrance, like most Givenchy’s are.

This is a mature line. Not for everyone, it is not youthful and not everyone can pull it off. But I love it. Will be getting for autumn time this year.

Alafi Kisieko

Una explosión de nardos exquisita, es un perfume maduro, seco, perfecto para el otoño entrando el invierno.

Titiana

Easy grab and go, it’s green fresh floral, very happy scent. I love it much more then all the flankers.

Cadera97

I think all there was to be said about the notes is out, so I'll just add that this scent makes me happy and brings me an optimistic overlook in life. I favor unissex scents, as well as opulent florals, woods, and vintage perfumes loaded with patchouli, coriander and oakmoss, for context.

Allybabaa

I had a hard time with this perfume. Sometimes I liked it, sometimes I hated it. Maybe it was just too much tuberose for me? I’m not sure what it was. It smelled “nice enough,” but I would not say this is a sexy or alluring perfume. I’ve had some men smell it as well to get their feedback, and they said the same. It’s just kind of… There. Not going to make anybody run away, but not going to get any men wanting to get closer to you. I just found it kind of boring and slightly old granny vibes. I can see how this can be too sweet/floraly for some- it was almost there with me. Definitely a bubble-gummy sweetness that is off putting to me in men’s and women’s perfumes alike. I ended up selling my bottle because I just couldn’t find an occasion where I wanted to wear this. A formal event? I would reach for Chanel. A more casual setting? I have a million other perfumes that would be a better match, and this is not a casual every day scent anyway. It would be too cloying in the summer heat, and there are better winter perfumes out there than this one. Again, not sure where or how this would fit in to someone’s lifestyle. Just go buy some other perfumes with your money instead of this. You might like it in the store but you won’t be reaching for it at home.

Pt.11

sakuramoon

Very heavy, cloying floral which has quite a mature and traditional scent to me. When someone I know sprays it I find myself trying to escape it, which is difficult as the longevity and sillage is great, I will give it that! Can definitely see this being a headache inducer for some.

C0nfust1c@te

This was a blind buy that I ended up giving to my mum. Headache inducing and did not smell nice on me.

cinnasnow

I tested this on a scent card, took the scent card home and kept smelling it as it dried down. My impression of L'interdit EDP on the scent card was that it was really pleasant and inviting - a lovely mature floral with just a little bit of an edge.

Unfortunately... the base notes were over-amplified on my skin immediately upon spraying. I smelled like an intense masculine earthy-woodsy candle that completely overpowered the floral notes. It was very off-putting. It could be headache-inducing. I had to wash it off.. or well, I tried to wash it off. But even after scrubbing with soap a little was still stuck on my skin for the rest of the day! This one just doesn't work with my body chemistry.

I would like to go back and try the EDT on my skin, though. I also liked it on the scent card, and perhaps the base notes are not as intense in the EDT.

Janethevirgin

causes headaches to me :(

autumnblue914

I love it so much. Creamy, classy tuberose. Lasts such a long time too.

ozlemaksay

The longer you wait, the better the scent gets.

ozlemaksay

It opens with a sweet scent of pear. It turns into a soapy smell over time. I bought a small sample to try, maybe in the future when I run out of perfumes, I can buy a full size bottle. I like this it smells clean but I didn't fall in love with it. I can update my review after I get my friends' opinion.

PurpleKat

There's so much hype about L'Interdit so I really wanted to give it a chance. Looking at the fragrance notes I thought I would probably enjoy it. I bought a sample to try 3 months ago, in cold wintery January and... instantly hated it upon first spray! I like to be fair, so I shelved it for a warmer day, which is today and... still hate it! I had to scrub it off for a second time (which is not easy, let me tell you!) Way too much tuberose for me with a dirty, powdery bubblegum smell. Gives me a headache almost straight away. This is the first perfume sample I've thrown away without finishing. Sorry L'interdit, you and I will never be friends. I may flirt with your flankers though!

Momopeach

Bottle caps candy (the grape flavor), and laundry detergent. Don't ask me why it works but it does!!! This smells refined, not too too sweet. Long lasting and unique.

The tuberose gives it a slight similarity to My Way, but my way has more bright citrus greenness, and L'interdit has a soft, fresh clean sort of depth to it from subtle patchouli and vetiver.

This smells very elegant and classy!

Sheherazad

She stands 7 ft tall, majestic & feral, wild mane & black cape billowing in a faceted floral wind of shadowy sensuality…

Bebelusica

Honestly addicting, I smell lemon in this and I'm guessing that is the grape smell everyone is smelling, but to me it smells like lemon. Even a bit spicy. And fresh. Not my cup of tea though, it's too elegant and sexy and classy for me. I won't be buying a full bottle but I can understand the hype.

(Apparently the grape smell is coming from the tuberose, thanks to a fellow member I now know this!)

jswenson

That grape smell everyone is smelling is from the tuberose in this perfume, not any of the fruit. Tuberose can come off a bit grapey. Another example is Poison.

meowjaz

such a fruity + sweet fragrance; to me, its opening smells just like grape soju!! i was so surprised to see that grapes weren't to be seen anywhere in the notes, i definitely didn't get much pear.

aicwilo

love love love this. its not very complicated, so classy, so elegant, it can elevate anyone’s presence. to me this is white wine turned into fragrance(may be weird, but the pear does smell a lot like grapes)

jessica_chinos

I like this perfume, it has great performance and sillage. Since my skin eats perfumes, I used to wear it on random days, it would be softened soon enough by my dry skin in over an hour. It is not work friendly though, even with my skin. I recommend it for date nights, even on summer and spring if your skin is like mine, because it wont be overpowering ir your skin eats it. I layer it with Michael Kors Wonderlust and it works really well.

Irishblondgourmand

To me this is intoxicating.... I find it very similar to My Way, but more complex and intoxicating

ehall

Pretty smell, smells good on me. But not my favorite. Seems to be missing a key ingredient that would make it unique and romantic.

Nataliajj

I like it a lot. It is very sweet and smells like grapes to me so I was surprised that there were no grapes in the notes

Ambroxer

I may be going fume crazy, but L’Interdit is striking me as an elevated designer fragrance. The pear note that opens the fragrance is sweet and juicy and feels much more realistic than most fruity top notes. It’s fresh and flirty and overall very pretty.

As it begins to mingle with the mid notes, it becomes enveloped in white florals. Tuberose and Jasmine come together to create something that is simply lovely. It’s not a groundbreaking fragrance by any means, yet L’Interdit is sublimely feminine. It’s like the perfect girlfriend fragrance, equal parts warm, gentle, empathetic, sexy and loving. I don’t know about the name and the association with the forbidden, as the scent itself is like a bright, sunny day and as girly pink as possible. This is not a sexy tuberose or Jasmine, but a much more romantic one.

Until that dry down when the vanilla comes out to play. That’s when L’Interdit throws on the little black dress and heels to get a little sultry. Ambroxan warms the florals and vanilla while providing the nose a zesty tingle. It’s quite a remarkable change a few hours into the wear, and marks a dramatic transformation much in sync with the many different styles of femininity.

SnowIce

I can’t get enough of this one. Sooo beautiful, intoxigating and sexy! This is a magnificent tuberose for Woman. Such a modern masterpiece. Soft but strong. Top10 in my collection.

kiddo221998

Headache headache headache .......

Anfissa

Class in a bottle! One of the best fragrances out there that came out recently. It’s good that it was reformulated because aldehydes do not appeal to most people these days. It exudes class, sophistication and sex appeal. If your skin chemistry matches this gorgeous masterpiece, rock it! It will wow and will make you smell unforgettable just like the icon star that inspired it, the lovely Audrey Hepburn. It definitely lives up to her name. Little black dress, Pearl necklace and dreamy look. It has a great projection, silage and stays on your skin long enough.
Update: It opens as a burst of beautiful fruity florals, but as it settles in the Drydown I get a dry grassy feeling of vetiver or the earthiness of pachouli but it still emanates the beautiful floral of tuberose. It's interesting that it turns a bit smoky on my skin. Not sure it was mentioned in the notes, but it's smoky and spicy in the Drydown. In terms of emotional response or vibes I get the season of Fall and imagine smelling beautiful overripe grapes among blossoming white flowers that gives me a bit of a melancholy but romantic energy. It is very sophisticated and sexy, and has that feeling of a forbidden affair, intense and passionate. In my opinion, it might suit someone with a strong, confident, flirty personality perhaps with a penchant towards a slight gothic melancholy. I really love perfumes and have over 40 in my collection, but I have been going back and forth on this one trying to decide whether to keep it. I decided to keep it because it is kind of a modern masterpiece, akin to La Vie et Belle or Chanel. It is bound to become a real classic and be a cult favorite eventually. I really prefer it to the other flankers. I think this one is the best out of the group. It is the most beautiful, and I also liked the EDT version a lot as well. It is worth it to own both.L'Interdit EDP is most suitable for late Fall and Winter in my opinion. It is really bold and strong and has an amazing projection. Literally just a dab might be all you need. People will notice it when you are wearing it for sure. I think it might be too much for many people; it is a modern scent, but a bit of a powerhouse. I would go for EDT, if you do not like strong perfume. However, disregard all personality or season advice and listen to your heart- if you smell it, put it on and after at least 15-20 minutes still love it- then it is for you.
I read the newest reviews, and they are all over the place here on FB. I don’t think people differentiate between the flankers. And they all smell very different from one another. The red bottle smells a lot like root beer to me. The original EDP is nothing like that. And the EDT is not the same as the original EDP.

ChocoLei

What a magnificent tuberose. I love this. I never get tired of smelling this on people when in public, and I smell it a LOT. I’m glad this one is as popular as it is :)

It does smell mature but more in a spirituous way rather than a physical way, if that makes sense. Like, this embodies the saying « old soul » to a T.

It’s not a soapy tuberose, nor is it fresh, happy-go-lucky or flirty. It’s a slightly dark, mysterious, very serious tuberose with a timeless elegance. It may not smell the same as it used to when it was curated for Audrey Hepburn, but I do see how she could still remain the main inspiration for a modern take on this fragrance. I think she embodies all the qualities & traits above.

As beautiful I think L’Interdit is, I don’t quite identify with it--- at least not now. It’s definitely one of these fragrances with so much character that it could wear you, instead of you wearing it. Therefore, I hope I’ll keep smelling it every now and then in the street, whenever I crave it :)

hyxsh03

This reminds me of my favourite asian grape candies yet far more sophisticated. I can’t get enough of it. On days that I choose to wear other fragrances, I’ll still have a little sniff of the cap just because I like it so much. This could be someone’s signature scent but I’m not convinced that it’s a daily daytime fragrance for me as it’s quite strong (it’s not potent however if you spray more than 5 sprays you may give the people around you a headache😬 so I’d recommend keeping the sprays to about 3-wrist, neck and maybe hair or ankles). In my opinion it’s more of a date (day or night) fragrance as it’s sophisticated but definitely not in a granny way. I accidentally picked up the eau de toilette version after I finished my first 80ml bottle and that one smelt straight up like piss, I had no idea that I had purchased the wrong one and just thought that I had been given a fake one. The eau de toilette is pungent and headache-inducing and it’s so strong for no reason even just with one single spray💀. Additionally, I’ve seen on social media that the rouge version is blowing up, I tried it and I can’t say I’m a big fan as it simply just does not compare to the original eau de parfum. Overall, it’s an 11/10, and even though I really am not a fan of other tuberose scents as they smell far too mature on me (I’m 19), this one simply is just special, different, unique, you name it. One last thing, my mum smelt this on me and was like ‘yeah smells great but how typical of you to buy another tea scented perfume’ so I guess it smells a bit like a fragrant, aromatic tea as well. I love it this incredibly much and I hope you will too.

vintagesoda

I cannot stop thinking about this perfume! Ever since I first smelled it in Edinburgh in the winter, and sprayed a tester strip with it which my boyfriend then carried in his pocket. I could smell it for hours. In fact, I could still smell it the following day when walking a couple of metres away from my boyfriend I would get a scent trail of this. I wondered who smelled so good walking near me. It’s honestly intoxicating. This is a grown woman fragrance. A woman who knows what she is and who she is. It’s very heavy on the tuberose to my nose and when I smell it in the bottle it’s the heaviest note, however I don’t mind this and I would love to try this on my skin. If it lasted that long on a piece of paper, and I could smell it through his coat pocket I HAVE to try this on my skin. I could see it being one of my favourites!

LanaDelSlay

Smells too similar to Si, cant see a difference, same DNA weirdly, wish it had more personality

mermaidylady

Such a modern masterpiece. So many white florals dominate the market right now, but L'interdit and her flankers are always top of the heap for me. The Millesime version is my personal favorite, but they are all so damn good.

Shanipoo

It's not that I dislike tuberose, but when it's the main thing I smell, I can't stand it. It reminds me of a mix between pepto bismol and a strong perfume that just smells like perfume. Not the worst, but its not one for me. If you enjoy tuberose though, you should definitely try this

Devved

initial impression- bubble-gum or cherry mint toothpaste...soapy quality to it...got as a tester. the description on the package said ''a white flower crossed by a dark woody accord''. Only the wood part smells dry and old, like an old wardrobe from the 80s. Makes my nose tingle, unpleasant. Like old soap (multipurpose cleaning soap) from two decades ago and not clean fresh soap.

Does not smell luxurious or expensive, Avon has better scents than this one for cheaper. Heck, even Victoria Secret has better perfume.
From these types of perfumes which are super sweet, rich and intense, Scandal by night - Jean Paul Gaultier was the best but it is discontinued. Hopefully something that good comes back.

TheNyx2003

This is AMAZING ! i can't seperate notes but their combo is really nice , sweet sophisticated fruity tuberose ☺️much better than intense version to me

A vixen should wear this 😉

Admw

Definitely a fragrance for the confident woman! Good sillage! It is warm and yet fresh, in my opinion a too "clean" scent. I think it's a nice scent but you have to be in the mood for it, for special occasions only.. it’s great but i miss something

yana.nedeva

This is way too cloying for me, reminds me of Angel by Mugler to a big extent, probably the patchouli. Really heavy florals, smells mature.

Cadera97

If I had to wear only one perfume, this would be the one.

Azula

Sorry to disillusion some of you, but I just need to clarify for those who are under the impression Audrey Hepburn was walking around emitting a cloud of Ambroxan and bubblegum white florals drenched in pear syrup in the 1950s (LOL!), this modern iteration of L'Interdit is NOT the bespoke fragrance she wore; not due to IFRA reformulations, no, but because this is an entirely separate perfume with its own distinct composition and olfactive genre that bears no resemblance or relation to the 1950s release. The original L'Interdit was a powdery aldehydic floral in the same vein as Chanel N°5, which the target demographic of THIS fragrance often derides as (insert ageist remark here).

Believing that Audrey wore anything that smelled like this is a level of delusion I aspire to. What's next, Marilyn wore BR540? Get a grip.

Linnsim

Class in a bottle. I have also the le rouge version and love all the L’interdit line. This is a very classy and sophisticated bubblegummy tuberose, very addictive, can’t stop smelling my wrist wearing this. Signature scent worthy.

lala77

This is a sharp but warm, spicy vanilla on me. It’s addictive. I don’t get the tuberose! Or the fruit! Seems this one wears very differently on different people.

MichelleOd

Instant nausea
I think it's the pear
Not a safe blind buy
I prefer the edt version

catriiona

I'm on the fence about this fragrance. On my skin it's a pear and tuberose bomb with some very subtle floral funk underneath. It's pretty, but on me feels one-dimensional and I find myself wanting more from it... I don't find this exciting. If I did, I would choose this for a nice dinner or to a formal event.

Kimberly parmenter

OMGoodness, where has this beauty been all of my life? Absolute perfection! Luscious, fruity jam. A wonderful pairing of white flowers. The orange blossom is prominent and heavenly. The patchouli note is sheer mystique. The Vetiver is realistically earthy, grounding the fragrance. Very, very real Vanilla, the type that floats around you like a luminous vanilla veil. The master mix and composition of these notes is beyond compare! She's a sexy beast. She goes strong for three full hours, and she fades like a glorious sunset, revealing a depth of different colors and facets. I wore her to a banquet and dance, and I was told I smelled delectable, and also good enough to eat. Several ladies asked for my new loves name. She's a keeper and worth every penny spent! Incredibly romantic and enticing. I have not instantly loved a perfume like I love this one for quite some time now. My only regret is that I feel the need to reapply at about three and half hours. L'interdit simply put is a masterpiece. Full bottle worthy and I'm also picking up a travel size to keep in my purse and my evening clutch. I feel L'interdit is perfect for evenings and special events, but I can't get enough of her, and I find myself reaching to wear her for numerous occasions as well. She's incredibly beautiful and classy, but also a naughty seductress. She's a tantalizing temptress and tease. I'm obsessed and crave L'interdit like a drug! She's got a hold on me! I can't get enough! Givenchy...congrats on achieving PERFUME PERFECTION!

LiliiiS

Givenchy L'interdit opens sharp with a jammy sweetness and at the same time lots of sourness.I was shocked and disliked it in the opening but fortunately the sourness goes away and it's not that sharp as it settles down. pear is strong on me which is a good thing because it's one of my favorite fruity notes but I feel there's some other fruity notes here eventhough I can't put my finger on a specific fruity note other than pear. the overall scent is sweet and slightly spicy but also has a touch of tarteness.tuberose, orange flower and jasmine, they're all present and smell clean and creamy at the same time(not too clean or too creamy though). I can't detect much vanilla. it's more like amber sweetness, not vanilla sweetness and patchouli isn't strong enough to bother me. it's pretty linear on me.just that the drydown is less intensely sweet and more floral, still very pretty.
This is a loud, heady and opulent scent but it still manages to have some freshness.I get it when people say it smells like grape soda or it smells bubble gummy. yes it does but not too much and that slight bubble gum, grape thing make it fun and youthful while being confident and grownup. it's very feminine, delightful and smells kind of expensive. I'm in my 30s and feel it suits my age so well but I also believe it can easily work on someone much older or younger. right now I'm wearing it in a freezing cold winter night but I think I'd prefer it in mild to cool spring weather. it's one of those perfumes that leaves a lovely trail behind you as you walk and it's a serious complement magnet. if you're into sweet white florals there's a big chance you would like it.
BTW I also have a sample of Givenchy L'interdit Intense. before testing it and just by looking at the notes and reviews, I was pretty sure I would prefer the intense version but there's something in it's drydown (probably a very strong patchouli, vetiver combo) that ruins it for me so only L'interdit edp enters my wantlist not it's intense sister.
Edit:
It reminds me of Britney Spears Curious. they share the same kind of pear. Curious is lighter, less sharp and has a lovely magnolia note other than tuberose
Curious

Maneera

On my skin, L’Interdit is a gorgeous, intoxicating and powerful tuberose with mild spiciness. It has a warmth to it but I don’t smell any particular spice note here.
I also own and love the L’Interdit Rouge - I have to say that I prefer the original a touch more. It’s more elegant and refined and has everything a perfume needs to be a signature scent. Chic. Bold. Beautiful. Yet elegant.
I don’t see any similarity between Givenchy L’Interdit and Armani My Way. The latter is obnoxiously sweet and rather generic, in my opinion.

Givenchy L'Interdit edp (Original)
L'Interdit In French Means: = "Forbidden"
Originally Created For Audrey Hepburn In 1957, And Used By Her In The Film "Breakfast At Tiffany's.

🗣Isn't It Nice To Think That Your Using Something Fragrance Wise, That Once Graced A Vanity Top Of A Famous Film Star ie: Audrey Hepburn!! The Original L'Interdit, Meaning "FORBIDDEN" Was First Created For Her Back In 1957, And Used By Her In The Film "Breakfast At Tiffany's" (Kept Inside Her Mail Box/Slot), And Put On Everytime She Was Going Out!! Although Im Sure The Formulation Has Somewhat Changed From Then Till Now!! Givenchy Did Keep The Bottle Design As Close To The Original As Possible!! Audrey Hepburn Really Was A Brand Ambassador For The French Brand Givenchy Back Then, Using Not Only Their Fashion, Make-Up & Then Her Own Perfume, Specially Created By Them For Her!! (She Apparently Did'nt Want It Released For General Sale) But Givenchy Had Other Ideas About That!!

Now The Perfume:
Im Really On The Fence, When It Comes To This Particular Perfume, And Would Class It As "So"So" Yes It's Nice Enough Etc, If It Agree's With Your Skin Chemistry, It Just Does'nt Seem To Agree That Well With Mine, And I Find That It Does'nt Really Excite Me The Way That Other Perfumes In My Collection Do!! And Im Very Sorry To Say This, But This To Me Is Just Your Usual Run Of The Mill Basic White Floral Kind Of Sweet Scent!! That Does'nt Really Grab My Attention Greatly!! Some Day's It Smells Kinda Fruity/Sour, And Off On My Skin, (Absolutely Hate It) While Other Days I Get The Most Beautiful Creamy Tuberose/Vanilla, Laid Over A Base Of Patchouli, Which Gives It A Fresh Airy, Earthy Quality!! Now When It Smells Like That On Me, This Is When I Really LIKE/LOVE It!! (As You All Already Know, Just How Much I Enjoy Patchouli In My Perfumes I Daily Wear And Use) I Can't Quite Understand It, Nor Really Put My Finger On It, But Im Kinda Asking Myself, Is It The Fruity Pear Note In This Fragrance That Somehow Does'nt Really Agree With My Over All Skin Chemistry? And If That Note Was Left Out Of It, Would It Smell So Much Nicer On Me? One Really Does Wonder!! As The Top Notes In This Are Pear & Bergamot, Followed By Tuberose, Orange Blossom, & Jasmine Sambac (That Gives It The Creamy Quality And Added Freshness) Then Patchouli, Vanilla, Ambroxan & Vetiver!! (The Woody Earthy/Airy Quality I Love) I Don't Have Any Such Issues When It Comes Till Wearing Givenchy's Two Other L'Interdit Creations: The Intense (Black Bottle) And The Rouge (Ruby Red Bottle) As These Both Smell Absolutely "OUTSTANDING" On Me, And Both Never Fail To Draw Me The Most Wonderful Compliments!! Even Stopped At A Chum's Wedding By The Brides Mother And Asked What Perfume I Was Wearing Before We Sat Down To Eat Dinner!! (Was Wearing The Rouge Red One) As It Was A Cold Winter Wedding, And That One Really Does Bloom Gorgeously In Cold/Freezing Weather!! Giving It The Most Beautiful Cosiness!! Just Don't Understand Why That The Original L'Interdit Gives Me Such A Hard Time When I Try To Wear It!! I'll Always Keep It In My Perfume Wardrobe, Just For The Sake Of It, I Just Can't See Me Reaching For It That Often!!
I However Say Bravo Givenchy Though For Both The Intense & The Rouge That Are Two Absolute Stunning "GEM'S"!! 🖤♥ And Please DON'T Over Look Them If Like Me, The Original L'Interdit Does'nt Quite Hit The Spot!! My Honest Advice: [DO NOT BLIND BUY THIS FRAGRANCE WITHOUT TRYING IT OUT FIRSTLY ON YOUR SKIN] And Give It Time On Your Skin [A Good Few Hour's] To See How It Wear's From Start To Finish!! Mine Was Bought As A Gift, And I Did'nt Get Trying It Out Firstly!!

Edit:
Have Literally Just Tried Wearing A Sample Given To Me Of Giorgio Armani "My Way Edp" And Can Tell You That It "DOES NOT" Seem To Agree With My Over All Skin Chemistry Either!! Not Only Does It Smell Sour And Off, But As It Develops On My Skin, A Strong Smell Of Vomit Actually Appears!! Horror Of Horror's!!! So Here's Another Fragrance I Simply Cannot Wear For Some Unknown Reason!! 👎

Elegant Spice

I don't not understand how the other reviewers are not smelling this the way I am. I smell a gorg tuberose which is creamy and sweet. Very mass appealing and similar to Hermes Twilly without the creamy and sweetness. Maybe they reformated this? Im not entirely certain.

Gin Palace

I didn’t think I was going to like this as much as I do. Bought with daughter in mind but on testing, decided I had to have so bought a full bottle to share! It has everything, appeals to young and old (daughter and I, not all always appeal to both) , fresh and ‘light’ smell (not longevity, that isn’t light), powdery yet fruity/floral, not challenging - as in suitable for many situations and settings and occasions. I think I like the tuberose and the ambroxan in it most.
This is what I should’ve worn on my wedding day! The colour, styling and smell would’ve totally complimented the whole thing. At the time, I didn’t have many perfumes and didn’t have the time or money to plough through tons to find the right one! As it was, I grabbed Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy 😂 from my limited collection at the time. Now bequeathed to the daughter! I’m glad you can’t smell from the photos, in my mind it should’ve always been L’Interdit.
