La Petite Robe Noire Légère by Guerlain is a Floral Fruity fragrance for women. La Petite Robe Noire Légère was launched in 2018. The nose behind this fragrance is Thierry Wasser. Top notes are Sour Cherry, Almond, Rose Water, Lime and Lemon; middle notes are Black Tea, Rose, Raspberry, Licorice, Peony and Peach; base notes are Tonka Bean, Vanilla, Violet, Patchouli and White Musk.

La Petite Robe Noire Ma Robe Hippie-Chic, the new edition of the La Petite Robe Noire collection, offers a lighter and more floral perfume (Eau de Parfum Légère) with dominant notes of rose water and sour cherries. Perfumer Thierry Wasser stands behind this collection.

The fragrance is a floral-fruity, bohemian and light. It opens with fresh notes of cherry, rose water and almonds, leading to the floral heart of rose and black tea. Tonka and patchouli accords form the base of this composition. The original Eau de Parfum is sublimated by rose water for a light, delicate and playful interpretation.

The bottle of the fragrance is the same as the previous one, colored in luminous purple-pink, with a new illustration and a hippie design of a little black crocheted dress. The fragrance is available as a 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum Légère.

Agree with @ginpalace review. I have the same experience of this being quite strange, and very dependent on the weather. I find it to be a very cool, zingy tea/rose/cherry with hints of something almondy and sweet underneath. It does not at all smell like the cherry in Tom Ford's Lost Cherry, which reminds me of cherry flavoured jelly belly/car freshener scent. This cherry is more like a marachino that somebody dropped into their ice lemon tea, then added a dash of rose water. The opening is very zingy and translucent like pink cellophane. The dry down especially on warmer days does become more round and settled, finally getting some tonka bean.

I blind bought this and it has taken some getting used to!

mermaidshimmer

Wearing this on a cold Autumn day. It is long lasting and carries with it the warmth of sweet black cherries.

Morgan45

This is so interesting. It's sort of a light, medicinal cherry-floral scent, and I kind of like it, but I can't smell it at all after about 20 minutes. But my husband sure can and he commented on it twice the other day long after I thought it had completely dissipated, telling me I smelled nice and that my perfume smelled "soapy" (and it does a little bit, too). Just for reference, he almost NEVER comments on my perfume. Very intriguing. I bought 50 ml and I'll enjoy it, but I don't think it will be a staple.

GUADELUPA

I have a long story with this fragrance. At first, I did not understand it at all! This scent seemed very strange to me. But in any way, something has touched my heart (and nose) and I tried to wear this scent in different weather and did not notice how much I liked it. I can smell cherry, a little bit strange cherry, but no doubts, it's a real amd mature cherry. Also I can smell black tea and rose. The rose here is very tender and delicate, like a rose with a dew at dawn. Something like that. This scent is so versatile and unique that I can't even categorize it. Sweety? Floral? Probably everything at once. This is a delicious cherry jam with rose petals, but sometimes it's a hair spray (but a very expensive hair spray): interesting and unusual. It's not a safe blind buy; this "dress" is very specific as all other "dresses" You will like it or hate it. So, try first before buying.
P.S. This fragrance is very similar to Black Perfecto Florale EDT. Therefore, my reviews for these fragrances are almost the same. I have both and like these strange, but memorable scents.

Gin Palace

I was gifted this for Christmas by my mum who knows I am very much a fan of Guerlain perfumes, all I have tried are so elegant and nicely done. I had been thinking of trying La Petite Robe Noire original or the black perfecto edition.I didn’t even know about this flanker, so it was a nice surprise!
I like the sound of the notes but I was hoping they don’t smell like the Tom Ford Lost Cherry because to me, that just smells like cherry cough sweets! I like the more marzipanny ‘cherry Almond’ , like Jergens Cherry Almond. This is more like that, more delicate and would probably be nice layered with that body lotion. I think it’s probably for me, more of an autumn, winter fragrance.I think it’s versatile and inoffensive.
The only drawback for me is that I don’t find the longevity very good. Maybe I just get a bit nose-blind to it? Don’t understand the negative reviews about flankers, it’s a nice perfume.

Allegoria

I was looking for the most 'cherry' of the Robe Noire flankers, and I think I've found it in Legere. Even though sour cherry is in the top note, the cherry stayed for the 3 to 4 hours when the fragrance was strongest. What I got was the sweetness from the Cherry, Almond and Rose. I never did detect licorice, musk or patchouli. Even in the dry down. Just a well balanced cheerful cherry fragrance that brought a smile and seemed to suit almost any occasion. The only down side is that the longevity is not the greatest for a EDP.

As it been discontinued, I think I'll be searching for a backup bottle.

Steph_S

I already liked this fragrance, but I wore with with Victoria's Secret Cherry Elixir body lotion and I smelled positively luscious!! I usually wear unscented lotion when I wear fragrance for work I wore this combo before bed and I couldn't get over how nice it was, so I decided I'd try it for work. The fragrance lasted all day. The VS boosted the perfume nicely and the result was was a fresh, cherry delight.

SophieGlnd

Opens with a very tart cherry and almond notes, then deepens into a smoky/dusty sweet scent with the licorice, tonka bean and patchouli. The tartness of the opening and the smokyness of the dry down balance the overall sweetness. Girly but grown up, longevity is good, it stays the whole day on clothes, on skin it does not last that long.

I am yet to try the OG La Petite Robe Noire but I understand why it became so popular, it's a crowd pleaser for sure if you are into gourmand scent profile. It's not as versatile as a little black dress but it's composed with beautiful black notes: black cherries, black tea, licorice and tonka bean.

matmeohoang

A very sweet perfume.

Juma

This flanker is so well balanced. It still has LPRN dnk but it's more light anf fruity.
When original is too much on my skin, too dusty, this one is like sour cherry black tea (if does make sense to you).
In high temperatures original can be chocking but this one is just perfect.

To those who doesn't like original I recommend to test it and to those who like LPRN and flankers... just grab it till you can find it on the market. I saw it on-line at reasonable price in EU.

LSAUG

I bought this flanker because I got it for a steal and second because I love my bottle of Black Perfecto so much that I wanted a lighter version of it to wear in hotter weather. I don't really get a lot of citrus from this. For me it goes right into sweet tart cherry. As the perfume develops more rose comes in combined w/ the darkly refreshing black tea, spicy sweet licorice and dusty tonka bean. In the dry down I get patchouli, violet and musk. I do get almond w/ this but not as much as w/ the Black Perfecto flanker. That is a darker perfume w/ the leather and black musk. More of a date night scent. Hippie Chick is more of a daytime scent. A nice flanker but I think 2 of these flankers are all I will need. This line reminds me of the Mon Guerlain line. I tried the original and 2 flankers and just like all of the flankers share a lot of the DNA w/ the original it is the same w/ this line. Nothing wrong w/ that but 1 or 2 from either line is all you will need.

Pfleider2009

Cherry smell and has a minty scent. I sprayed it on my skin on a hot day it stings!!!! I think its good to use in cold weather.

Starlight_moon

This is indeed a lighter version of the original. If you have the original , you probably don't need the lighter version, however I think this one is better to wear during warmer season. I personally prefer to wear the original LPRN during the colder months, it is not a light fragrance and in warm weather it can actually give me a bad headache being too strong and heavy. However, I still enjoy the scent, so the lighter version allows me to wear it even in warmer seasons. The projection is light and longevity is about 4 to 5 hours, but it's light(er) and pleasant. Great alternative, in my opinion.

fangpili

A pretty, very light combination of rosewater, cherry, almond and raspberry but the longevity is shocking on me. Hardly discernible in under two hours. Reserve for a mild spring morning. In my opinion it does not smell like TF Lost Cherry (thick, strong, medicinal) or Lolita Lempicka (far more liquorish) - this is more fun, soft and wearable but let down by its fleeting nature.

amandawilliamspalmer

It's fun!

Wwoman

This is a lovely cherry cough syrup at first, but soon after dry down the almond and tonka/vanilla come out. It is definitely as far down the gourmand road as I would ever be willing to go. But, the mature scent on me is beautiful, but definitely not long lasting. I'd love to try some of the other flankers to see if I can get more longevity from them.

Malleable

A bright, fizzy, happy cherry.

fairymeist

This is beautiful, not too strong or sweet, it's the perfect amount of everything, very innocent and likeable, it has a cold aspect to it and it resembles Lolita Lempicka and a little bit of guerlain insolence edt.

BilgeD

Two words come to my mind when I smell this are clean and cherry. First spray is heavy but dry down is pleasant. I guess this perfume shares some notes with my shampoo so I feel like I just came from bath when I wear this.

ceeceelee

I would say mermaidshimmers review below is spot on. This does smell a LOT like the Les Elixirs line of "French Kiss". Hard sour cherry candy, raspberry fizzy sweet soda water, powdered violets and a hint of licorice. Very feminine, fizzy, happy and elegant fragrance all at once. I wondered about the Legere version, if they were going to take a page from the Les Elixirs Charnels line, kinda goose the interest a bit. Its a hit for me. Usually, cherry and raspberry fight for dominance on my skin, but here they very compatible. The cherry is sour this time and the raspberry gets to be sweet and fizzy. A little ditzy, a little hippie. Lovely.
A love for me, not a safe blind buy unless you like French Kiss. Elegant without trying too hard. Spray, go and enjoy.

Joana505

Whoever wants a full bottle, I’d be happy to trade or come to a deal! (100ml)

Miss Maven Moon

Definitely not a complete dupe for lost cherry by TF, but like a distant less intense cousin. This is a nice go to for spring and summer for me.

JoLeenS80

This is a beautifully blended scent. Blind bought this based on the notes. Worth every penny. I detect soft notes of Raspberry, cherry, and almond with a slight hint of patchouli. Love this.

Scentflower

I LOVE Guerlain fragrances. Their absolutely amazing! The house is unique, long lasting and at a fairly affordable price.

I bought this perfume having the original La Petite Robe Noire and the intense versions. Both perfumes are great. I bought the Hippie Chic hoping for a little more almond note in the fragrance. However to me this smells EXACTLY like the original La Petite Robe Noire.

Maybe I'm just at a point in my collection that perfumes are just going to smell like eachother. I feel like now I just have a back up bottle of La Petite Robe Noire.

AnaisLouLou

I just love this! It smells like powdered vanilla sugar with cherry and almond. In the mid notes are a touch of lemon, rose and tea. The entire perfume is wispy, light and elegant. For grown-ups. I normally switch up perfumes all day. Today, I only used this one. It sort of reminds me of how Baccarat Rouge 540 has an emptiness up close, but there is a scent which projects. This perfume has a similar olfactory pattern on the skin, but not as sweet.

I want to buy a backup but, La Petite Robe Noire has so many flankers. I know they are all similar. I want to try more! Always a good sign that I like a perfume.

Iheartperf

To me this smells like soap and sweet incense from a shop that sells crystals. I do get the cherries and sweet almond but there is a smoky inscence in it that is dominant to my nose. Its nice but I'm not sure I want to smell like it lol.

mermaidshimmer

Wow! This shares DNA with Guerlain's $260 French Kiss!

Though their openings are slightly different (with this being "fizzier" and bursting with cherries), the dry down is 95% dead on!

I get red licorice, cherry candy, raspberry hard candies, expensive cosmetic powder, violets, and some fizzy soda. A very girly, pretty fragrance!

I wish I had known that before I plunked down $260 for Guerlain's more exclusive French Kiss, which is part of their Les Elixirs Charnels line.

If you own this one, there is no need to acquire French Kiss...unless you are a collector or have money to burn.

Rosemary14

The opening is full of tart cherries, licorice, fresh floral, tea. The licorice immediately goes from a 7 in the opening down to a 3:as soon as it dries down. The dry down is immediate and the sweet almondy marichino cherries with that black tea, vanilla, fresh floral come to the front. The tartness of the cherries take a back seat to the marichino almond like notes in the dry down. All the other notes in this I wouldn’t be able to pick out at all. It’s nice fresh, flirty, fruity, and floral. I bought this along with Elie Saab L’eau Couture (another almond floral) and they are very similar. Both are very fresh spring almond vanilla fragrances. I really like them both.

Update: The more I wear this it goes from a fun fruity floral that’s almost juvenile to a dry down that’s so creamy, rich, grown up gourmand, and so well blended. It’s not overly powdery like so many of the Guerlain line can become on my skin. So, this does have that Guerlain quality that you can expect from this house. The fruit, the florals, the almond and cherry along with the perfect blending of the licorice, raspberry and peach… deep and delicious. Buy it. I’ve gotten so unbelievably lucky with my blind buys lately. This could become a problem. Lol

When something special is noted i like to update an already reviewed fragrance.
Half way through this bottle i now can see why GREEN is listed in the above accords. LPRNL is still all the things i said previously: Though, in its final long worn dry-down the beautiful greeeen appears. And , it is listed last ,so accords are probably listed in descending pre dominance - in most cases.

Its fantastic and if some guys can sneakily slip by the initial sweet phases, which are not that feminine really, its so easily a male fragrance too. Sadly the packaging will deter men. But, this perfume will not be a great seller through women - the green phase especially is for all.
On me, the end is a little like Bowling green (Geoffrey Beene) - And some other greens gone by i cant recall.. Pheremone (Miglin)Edp, D&G masculine... ?

Either way i see the "Hippie Chic" even more now.
The citrus, herbal like green - when it finally gets there - which is later than i first thought..! It appears at random wearings, initially i thought it was coming from someone else, but no, it was me. Who would know its hiding underneath that pinky - of - sorts - guise. A universal perfume - open and fluid minded like . "Bohemian" as its stated.

Zaleska

I'm not going to beat around the bush here.
Do you like cherries? A bunch of maraschino cherries?
Go for it, then!

delightme5

It is a "Light" but not at first and not as as in fleeting or vanishing. Light as in almost a white light of sorts.
I was deciding between this and another quite sweet gourmand on arms and test strips. It had to be this.

This starts a little sharp and cold, the sour freshness of cherries, sweet yet not. It slowly moves a bit deeper with that licorice i was wary of, but it is cooler here not so hot and aniseedy and or heavy as i felt with the original LPRN - which deal broke for me, amongst probably other elements in that composition. Incidentally, faint whispers of Lolita lempicka are notable throughout Legere but it never forms - thankfully !... (Legere has its own feathers to fan). A great perfume though Lolita L - but too warm and or heavily licorice for me.

The licorice (in Legere) works as a cool warm rush and does not dominate. It weaves in seamlessly with all and then you have the almond potentially adding to the creamy sweet feeling with the added freshness of pink rosewater. This perfume is sweet, yes, but NOT tooth achingly so - more in a fruity almond vanilla way - not synthetic feeling to me !
At the lasting end phase you catch sporadic mellow puffs of sweet pinky mauve white light. . Alluring. Cuddly soft.
It also reminds me of a lolly from the past at some stages, NOT a bag of lollies - but i cant recall ? hang on.. maaaaybe a licorice allsort with the pink and white bit prominent and the licorice bit minimal ??
Either way, I think this Legere (hippie chic) is my favorite LPRN and i would like to smell it on many a person.

turkishgirl

smell exactly like the edp.. no difference except more rose water in it. it's not more "legere" ("light"). longevity is not good. serisouly, get the edp. same scent, longevity is better with the original edp

Palmer Eldritch

Scrumptious, delish, sour cherry delight for Spring/Summer

If you love LPRN, collect all the bottles or find the classic LPRN too syrupy/heavy THIS is a great choice! Especially for warmer/sunny weather.

In my experience (my nose) compared to the original I can smell much more:
- Sour cherries
- Black tea
- Sweet flowers (Violet, Peony, Rose water)
- Raspberry (new note!)

MUCH LESS
- Patchouli
- Liquorice

On my skin the dry down is sweet due to the powdery violet (which I'm shocked about the votes on the notes). This is mixed with the creamy almonds & sour cherries.
- Also oddly enough, the peony is a mid note, but I can only detect it after a while on my skin amidst the rose water

I hate super sweet scents but this scent has the right amount without being synthetic, hence why I love wearing it :)

The sillage is just as strong as the original, however the lasting power is a little poorer...that's expected from a base with sweet gourmand, floral notes.

I also agree with the reviewer below me that it's a mature enough scent for women of all ages. I love it as my classic LPRN is a little too heavy for really hot weather.

ArtDecoStyle

Couture is my favorite of Guerlain's LPRN line, but I find it too bright for daily use. Legere is what I was looking for, a less sparkling and softer version.

Legere starts with fresh sourcherries, and maybe with a touch of citrus. Then it sweetens a little and gets creamier, smells like a cup of sourcherry icecream. Patchouli and black tea keep it being too sweet and balance the composition. A kind of woodsiness deepens the fragrance on drydown.

Legere is easy to use, even for those who keep distance with gourmands, as I do. It's a charming and happy scent, but enough mature for women at all ages. Legere&Couture are my day&night delights.

gracencirce

Like all the other flankers its alike i was between legere and the classic la petite robe noir and i chose this one just because its easier to wear in warmer days. Its more fruity not very serious like the original one and more playful. It can be worn also by younger girls 12 yo and older. To me its smells like love and happyness

Phantosmia Bella

The "hippie chic" PRN is more of a candy-sweet perfume, heavy on artificial cherry notes.
It's a rather nice composition, definitely along the LPRN lines, yet not "legere" but, to my inexperienced nosed, more childish.
Drydown is more mallow with nice tea notes.
I have half a mind of giving it to my 10 yo daughter.

Valy in the sky

@sleep2dream yes, I was surprised by the longevity too! Sillage not bad either, I was constantly getting whiffs from my wrist and then had to smell it again - it's on my want list!

sleep2dream

Two years ago I almost bought the EDP, but something about it was too heavy and syrupy. But I always thought the almond in it was lovely, so I was very intrigued by the "Eau légère". The opening is very fruity (in an Amor Amor way) and has some cherry lollipop notes, but not in a synthetic way. The almond then develops underneath, and the result is perfect if you like gourmand/amarena kind of scents. Then the evolution is pretty linear. Whereas the EDP could easily give me a headache, this version is very well-balanced, at the same time very sweet, but fresh and perfectly wearable in the summer. I was pleasantly surprised by the longevity (at least 7 hours on skin). I hope this version can stay for a little while!

Valy in the sky

I really like the cherry here! The original is too strong and has a heavy cloying licorice note that I can hardly stand but this version is so much better!
The only question is: why hippie chic?!

PricklyAndHot

Another one smelling Marina De Bourbon in the base.

cocolover56

Literally the same as the others, save BP & Intense.

Save your money.

iamoir

Another Robe Noire, God Lord, aren't they already enough? It seems that the whole concept of the Black Dresses is successful, thus the endless flankers. As for the "Hippie Chic", I wouldn't be so sure; don't you need a hippie patchouli for hippie chic effect? Well it's not here. Version Légère is a bubblegum-chic fragrance.

And they went for pink cherry gelly candies, a big hubba babol bubblegum with a sheer spice underneath, clearly sweet, no nauseating ethylmaltol. The more it projects the more I am convinced that it is cherry big babol liquified. A bitter touch from the almond is traceable and necessary.

People will call it "okay", "ordinary", "child-like", they don't lie, it's truly nothing new. It's on the sweet side, without smelling cheap/tacky, it's happy and youthful. Springy and summery, it makes sense that it is released at this time of the year.

It might be light, just as Guerlain advertises it, but it has a lovely projection, will create a cloud around you and will last for five-six hours, which is okay. Soap and water didn't seem to affect it.

A fine fragrance, albeit not my style.

sorak-kara

Just tested this at The Bay in Canada. It is a mild January day, with no humidity.
To my nose, it is very similar to the standard 2012 Eau de Parfum, but lighter. Where the EDP was sometimes overwhelming, overpowering, or migraine inducing, this edition has shed that intensity. The overall weight of the fragrance has lifted, and it will likely be wearable through a larger scope of weather.

It has the lovely cherry sweetness, but it has been toned down and lost that almost cough-syrup vibe. The smokey black tea is here, which I really missed in the Black Perfecto version. The note structure is really similar to the EDP, with only notes omitted, nothing new added. Comparing the 2 directly, this version has a lot less 'noise' in the notes. I've been noticing my own inclination towards less complicated scents with fewer notes lately, and this seems to hit that perfectly. It has everything that i loved about the EDP, and removed all of the things that have kept me from buying it all these years.

This seems to be the version that i have been hoping for all this time (exempting my beloved Couture version from all comparisons haha). It has the same character and vibe, but more wearable and less overwhelming to my scent style. It's going on the want list, and will probably be the next purchase I make.

Also, the bottle is a really vibrant pink! I was surprised at how bright it was!

JSRbeatles

Where are people finding this? I want to try it so badly, but cannot find it online anywhere. Thanks for any info.

Olya-la

In cold weather it opens up lightly, the cherry is fresh and sour in comparison with the previous versions. But as the scent develops it starts to resemble La Petite robe noire edt., just a little bit, however not significantly, lighter. Maybe in warmer weather the fragrance will show its different side clearly.

cocolover56

This one really sounds like it could work for me. The others are lovely, just not me.

I did really like Eau Fraiche & Black Perfecto tho.

WhiteVelvet

This looks and sounds nicer than the last release.
Will try this one. And re-review.
