LedumPalustre

This a lovely cherry-almond scent, sweet but not sickeningly sweet, light, happy, gentle, very long lasting (this EDT lasts way better than some EDPs of other brands). I am a bit confused by this scent as it is so fruity and girly. For an adult woman? Hmmm... A bit naive. My daughter loves it and maybe I should let her steal it. But the truth is that I love it as well. I do not see it as a sexy fragrance, rather it reminds me of a happy, welcoming kitchen full of chit-chat, sunlight and fresh almond-cherry pastries straight from the oven. It is so uplifting, warm, sparkling and happy, beautiful!

marchmaymarch

Very 'good girl' scent. Innocent with a hint of sexy.

I don't get any of the top notes at all. It goes straight to the middle notes for me, and it is a truly sour cherry at first (I'd say the apple plays a part in that too). You can almost taste the tartness. It drys down into a sweeter and softer scent, though. I don't get the syrupy cherry at all, not a cough drop cherry. It's like cherry juice.

The longevity isn't amazing on neither my clothes or skin. I'd say I get a good 3-4 hours of it before it starts dissipating into nothing. But while it's there... IT'S THERE! The sillage is great.

I find that during the summer in very hot weather it can be a bit overbearing and sickening, but for me it lasts better during the summer. The cold weather does the smell better justice, in my opinion. It smells crisp and light.

I wouldn't say it's a safe blind buy. It's quite a... complex cherry. I would say some might find this scent a bit offensive. I quite like it but my little sister, who usually shares my tastes, absolutely hates it.

nordlanderin

A perfume that smells like... perfume? Honestly, this is the only way I can put it. I see it as a safe blind buy and easy no brainer, but I don't feel stunned by that at all. Also I wouldn't reach for it when wearing a little black dress.

nukleo777

What a feminine, light and elegant scent! It leaves sweet taste in my mouth whole day. So fresh and yet so intimate. Just enough powdery for my taste. I do not get that syrup note everyone is talking about. Yes, it is sweet. Yes, it is fruity but not syrupy. Do I like it? Yes, very much. It was blind buy and I am not at all disappointed.

EDIT: After couple of mouths of wearing this fragrance, I've noticed patchouli dry down. Wasn't there before. I smell it now but it is not strong. Still liking this.

Ashlou

I hated this perfume in the first hour or so of applying it. It went on very single-toned aldehyde. It's also incredibly strong, so apply sparingly. My partner said it "smelled like old ladies," probably due to the cloying powder at the beginning. I enjoy the drydown, but it's too "goody two shoes" for me.

This perfume is no little black dress. It is the teacher's pet's freshly-pressed and powdered high school uniform.

deed-mealier.0q

This scent absolutely intrigues me. When it first came out, I didn't like it. Now I'm very old, somehow my nose has changed.

What I LOVE is that this perfume makes me feel young, light and happy - like I'm cavorting in the South of France in springtime, I'm 20 years old and 40kg lighter. It smells like freshly cut hay to me and I love that. I thought it might be lavender, but I see no lavender in the notes. As it progresses to the middle notes, it has a kind of muddled sharpness that's less pleasant.

Then right at the end, it's lovely again, there's that fresh hay scent and some kind of soft vanilla note even though there's no vanilla! Not a compliment-getter, but I love how it makes me feel and I enjoy its complexity on my skin.

ManueM

I love this perfume, it smell nice and fruity but it doesn’t last long 😔 pricey for a EDT. Maybe the EDP last longer but i am afraid that it would smell too intense for me.

jklovesperfumes

been trying this for quite a while everytime I’d go to a guerlain shop…(testing strip and my inner arm)I liked it… till I finally bought a 50ml few months ago… to my surprise I didn’t liked it when I wore it, it gave me a headache, I smell too much green, and a cheapy soap, I even smelled something similar from a glade air freshener…
I’m so sad and disappointed that it didn’t worked with my body chemistry 😢 I just wasted money again 😓😅.

CowLover99

A slightly sweet, girly scent. It smelled to me slightly like strawberries. I love this perfume.

zenithince

I tried this perfume with my friend in Dutyfree and it smelled spicy and fruity on her, but on me it was a dull and overly sweet scent that turned into the smell of cheap masculine soap. Unfortunately I had to wash it off. It's surprising that I don't like a Guerlain perfume. Because they are usually based on DNA, which I love. I am thinking again to try their new versions.

LadyMuck

I'm surprised I don't think it is very stand out for a Guerlain fragrance. I guess I expected more but it is kind of generic and similar to many other fragrances on the market.
I do like it though and enjoy that it is more subtle in tone from the EDP which I found too powdery.
It has a distinct cherry amber dry down with a touch of black current and pachouli to my nose.
Nothing unique but still fun to wear.

seokjean

It's like the ultimate “that girl” scent. My girl best friend wears it all the time and it's just so elegant and inviting
It's got this sweet n sparkly berry vibe that's totally her style
I love how it smells on her man. It's a perfect mix of sour cherry, green apple n black currant that just makes me want to hang out with her all day + it's got this subtle floral undertone that's just so feminine and pretty. I think every dude needs a girl who wears this n if you're looking for an elegant/romantic perfume that's perfect for your girl this is the one bro

Zahraa555

Light, fresh and sharp. Incredible for spring/summer! Super feminine and elegant.

A cherry perfume which is musky and soapy in the best way possible, with some crisp green apples.
The cherry here is sour and medicinal with a tiny hint of sweetness, but still so beautiful.

In the dry down it smells like cherry blossom which is not listed as a note.
However, lasting power is very terrible :( it fades away completely after 1-2 hours. I had to reapply several times.

Maleficent's cotton candy

This smells very similar to Eau Fresh. You probably wouldn’t need both. I believe Eau Fresh is discontinued, though, so if you’re looking for that, this is your girl. Pretty. Clean. Strong. Nice for warm weather. I can smell this for hours on myself almost every time I move.

Enrium

La Petite Robe Noire is a girlish gourmand, reminiscent of Lolita Lempicka, though a bit thinner and more cherry-forward. While it is a good example of its genre, it is not really to my taste, but is an objectively decent sweet gourmand. The EDT is not the same scent, despite the similarities. It is less cherry-dominant, and features other fruit notes more prominently, notably a fresh green apple note. Lighter and slightly thinner, it is still very sweet, but it is a floral-fruity rather than a gourmand. There is no perceptible almond here, and very little vanilla in the base either. The Lolita Lempicka-like anise note which adds a lovely soft spicy edge to the original is also missing. Overall, while the DNA of the original is definitely present here, this EDT is a more basic fruitchouli version of LPRN.

This EDT opens with tart blackcurrant and fresh green apple. The liqueur-like cherry is present at the early stages, but is much more subtle than in the EDP. Dewy and green, the freshness here is surprising in contrast to the sugary sweet opening of the original.

As it develops, the floral heart emerges, led by powdery rose. Some sweet white florals round it out, with orange blossom becoming more evident as it progresses. Patchouli adds predictable earthiness to the florals. It becomes musky as it fades, with sweet orange blossom remaining alongside ambroxan remaining until final fade. Sillage and longevity are moderate.

A floral-fruity version of the original with some of the interesting parts (read: gourmand elements) removed, this EDT is pleasant but inferior overall. Still, a reasonably good flanker with some nice freshness up top, making for a warm weather alternative for fans of LPRN. 3/5.

turkishgirl

A new edt is coming in france! Buy a stock if you love the original edt! On the website they said there is no cherry or musc: only bergamote and rose!

siynaloa

It share the same DNA with the original you know it’s La Petite Robe Noire 🔥 juste lighter ✨
Gorgeous and beautiful

likesleet

lighter version of the original with additional fruits. cherry less distinct and smells like berries in general

Jernê Knowles

La Petite Robe Noir (The Little Black Dress) in its EDT version makes a fragrance so tender that it would not need any comment, were we to have to share our olfactory experiences with friends!

In the first contact with the skin, a greenish and pure aroma exudes innocence, however the Jasmine on its way out is dirty and somehow pungent because it bothers, but nothing that is impossible to deal with; Roses exist and they don't shine so bright, because they are tired, they are ripe and broken.

In the middle, he intimately transfers a more gourmand air that refers to suppers on simple family days. There is a refined cherry liqueur that reveals the same not innocent, but full-bodied Currant in hot syrup over petals of fresh flowers. The bitterness that exists here in the middle is reminiscent of the dry and austere footprint that is the identity of House Guerlain, for the most part.

At the base, the fragrance is basically a breath of soft and silky notes that give the impression of a second skin. She stays very close and occasionally touches her nostrils, but no chance of attacking or impressing. Here I make a direct association with its name, I feel that initially the fragrance can influence, cause and provoke amazement, but over time, it takes on personality and says goodbye without more intimidating, only giving a soft and necessary message.

ANNAFRYS

Nice, modern scent. Its like warm blanket for rainy fall. Musky and a bit cherries covered with cosy almond. Perfect for a fall

Katiewatie83

It smells like fruity sweets. Not a fan

TatianaChoco

The beginning is nice with sour cherries and flowers, but the drydown is typical fruitchouli - nothing special.

msamber86

This starts with a strong fruity smell. It’s a mix of cherry with green apple. It smells perfect for someone young who is into fruit based scents. After a while the fruit wears off and you get florals (rose and jasmine) mixed with amber. You can’t go wrong with this mix. It’s pretty nice. I actually like this dry down better than the start with the fruits. I think this is a perfect scent for someone young or who is just getting into fragrances.

As for me, I am conflicted. The opening is too young for me, and I don’t like the synthetic note in the background that is making this smell like a perfume with some fruit elements rather than the fruit itself. I prefer gourmands to smell like the actual food than like a perfume with those elements so this didn’t really work for me. I also really wanted a cherry dominant scent and this is more like cherry and green apple that leans toward the generic fruit side.

But, I am a fan of the dry down. You occasionally get whiffs of cherry and it pairs beautifully with the florals. I was ready to write this one off until I got to the dry down. I will need to wear this a few more times to figure out if I truly like it.

ScentBliss555

Sour cherry 🍒 translates into mildly tart pink lemonade with musk and patchouli. Fleeting sweet & sour opening with a musky sweet & sour drydown.

antoniov

On my skin I get the sour cherry, apple, musk and patchouli notes quite a lot. The last two create a powder kind of smell and add too much depth. I'm not a big fan of powder fragrances but this one is bearable (significantly better compared to other brands as the powder hint here does not give the old lady perfume impression). I feel though it could give me a headache if I wear it for too long. It's definitely not a light fragrance, it's quite heavy but it's a modern day fragrance at the same time so would recommend it for winter months, date nights but wouldn't classify this as office wear.

mirrorghost

at first i get a lot of cherry, green notes and musk. later on the apple and black currant comes through more and the amber becomes apparent in the drydown. this is fairly fruity, and i don't seem to get the patchouli either. this is nice but i prefer black perfecto. i think i need to re-try this one in warmer weather.

Shay W

Thought I would like this based on the notes pyramid. I wanted more cherry, but the powdery rose patchouli is just so overwhelming. Very disappointing....

reginasniffs

This fragrance seemed almost too girly when I first smelled it. At the beginning, all you can smell is a powdery yet fresh and juicy cherry, but not in an overly sweet fashion, as you smell the cherry, the fruity note has definitely blended in the notes of green apple, rose and jasmine, they are ever so light and airy, I'd like this fragrance more if it didn't have the apple. It is a fragrance with a rather present but not overwhelming cherry note, I'm not so sure about it being a sour cherry but it is still delicious. After the powdery-ness and cherry, you get the patchouli mixed with the musk. If I had to describe this fragrance with 4 words they'd be: elegant, youthful, fresh cherry. I am liking this more and more every day.
About the performance, It is a moderate performer, depending on how you spray. It is an easy grab and go perfume that makes you feel fresh but flirty, perfect for spring and day time, likeable and breezy, feminine but green and pink at the same time.

santiniansia

I've had this for about 10 years now, and I've used more than half the bottle, so it's probably time I make a review. I love it! It's sweet, powdery cherry blended beautifully with the florals. It's very versatile. I usually wear it at night because of how powdery it is, but it works well on a warm day too as long as I don't overspray.
Longevity is decent; it lasts a few hours. When I wear it, I can always smell it on on myself, but sillage isn't that great. Will I repurchase when it runs out? No, but you can bet I'll buy one of the flankers or the EDP.

tessiokio

I thought I'd love it, I wanted to love it, but there is just some note in there that doesn't work for me (not ON me) - it smells ok on me, I got compliments, but there is just something that I hate in there. I wish I knew what - so I don't buy perfumes with it in future. Shame.

fairymeist

This is perfect for the hot summers, it is fresh and floral but still holds the LPRN DNA.
It has sour cherries, green apple, and patchouli, it smells beautiful, fun and fresh.

Kivsophie

This has been my signature scent since 2012. I stole it from my Mom who is a Guerlain addict LOL!
At some point this was the only perfume that I owned but I did not get tired of it. Even years later, I keep coming back to this sweet cherry scent. I think this perfume is affordable for the quality and the longevity that you get.
Of course the EDT doesn’t last as long as the EDP but it is okay if you enjoy wearing lighter scent during the warmer days. The EDT is fresher than the EDP because it has a green note which I personally enjoy in my perfumes. I prefer wearing the EDT during day time & summer while keeping the EDP for night time ( including summer) and during the colder days because of its warmness.
Honestly, I don’t think there will ever be a better cherry perfume than this one. If you’re thinking about getting TF lost cherry forget about it and get LPR EDP which is cheaper and last longer. LPR has great sillage, the smell is very complex, sexy, sweet, dark and fresh! An absolute winner for me !

Kswhittaker

Quick update on longevity! EDP lasts all day hands down. So I expected EDT to be a lot weaker as usual.
But guys, this lasted me on my arm, from 10 am, till 8 pm. After about 5-6 hours it was more of a skin scent, but could smell it a lot when I brought my hand a bit closer to my face. I would also forget I had perfume on durning the day, and when I was moving I kept smelling it, so sillage is there

Kswhittaker

I’ve smelled it in Duty Free 4 years ago. And fell in love! Then I purchased it on my way back home in the airport. BUT, they gave me an EDP version. At first I was disappointed because EDP is very strong syrupy sweet cherry, heavy scent. But I fell in love with it. So I’ve Now tried Black perfecto EDP, EDT, and original EDP.

So I now purchased my original love, EDT, and I’m not disappointed. First of all it’s now A LOT cheaper then 4-5 years ago. I got 75 ml for 35£. And longevity is about 4 hours which Is not bad for an EDT. But it’s my favourite perfume dna That I can now wear in all seasons. ( I could not take the strength of the EDP for summer)

Zombie Apocalypse

The bottle is beautiful. However the scent reminds me of the red fruit punch. It has a very strong indistinct red berry smell that over powers any other notes.
When I first used it I thought it also reminded me also of a berry shampoo. Its very shampooey and linear and red fruit punchy. It is strong when first applied but gone in 2 hrs. It is in some way uplifting however quite linear to me with no distinct notes. I don't hate it, but I'd never repurchase and at the rate I use it my bottle should last me 20 more years.

linhtrangvn

It's sweet cherry. I didn't like it the first time I sprayed it but the more I used the more I was fond of it. Feel like a young girl exploring woman world when I wear this one

alicemarcone

The best cherry fragrance I've ever tried. Very fresh, but also sweet. I would say that this is fit for every season (except winter). Guerlain being amazing as always, very elegant, it definitely smells rich. The first time I sprayed on me, my boyfriend complimented the fragrance twice, and he usually doesn't do that. The bottle is also very cute, very chic, has a very vintage and classic vibe that I love. Definitely wanna try the other LPRN fragrances.

pamplemousse2

I love cherry and expected this to be a really sweet and rich cherry right off the bat, but when I sprayed it, I was surprised, it smelled a little....dated and old in the very beginning, perhaps from the rose and other flowers. It's almost a touch soapy. It did have good projection though of about 6" from my skin. I just scrolled down and see Kathy Reed below me said something similar, where she had similar expectations, and then it turned out not at all as expected. With the branding on this, I expected to imagine something an early to mid 20 something feminine girl would wear and I didn't get that at all.

About 5 minutes after spraying, I think I can get the slightest hint of cherry, but there's something just in the back of my throat that is almost stinging from this, like a 'sterile' smell that's chemical that's like a hospital smell. Someone mentioned cherry menthols as well and I also see that. Perhaps this may be the black currant? Which I know can be divisive and I've had before in perfumes and it was never bad for me, but maybe just the black currant in here is different or doesn't work with me.

10 minutes later and I smell the sour cherry even more, but there is hardly any sweetness, as well as some crispness from the green apple. But again, like no sweetness. I know an EDT is supposed to be good for spring and summer with being lighter and brighter, but I don't know if I like these fruit smells with hardly any sweetness. It's like a light sourness that I don't find particularly joyful to smell, but I also don't like things like sour apples. The cherry goes in and out of smelling sweet for a second, and then going back to very chemical/menthol.

Maybe this just wasn't for me or didn't work on my skin. It's like 80°F outside so I thought it would be a good time to try it, but maybe it's not. But this menthol smell I just cannot enjoy on me. This scent is so almost painfully sharp, sour, and soapy floral on me that it's just not working out unfortunately. I'll try the EDP though and see how I enjoy that.

1 hour later and this is already a light skin scent on me I need my nose to my arm to smell. The scent has also hardly changed at all, perhaps just a slight warmth from the musk and amber, but it's subtle.

4 hours later and I can actually still smell it on my skin. It hasn't changed still and but it's there faintly.

By 7 hours it's basically gone.

Kathy Reed

I have a love hate relationship with this perfume 😓

When I first got it I thought it definitely wasn’t what I was expecting, I was expecting a light sweet cherry yet deep perfume but instead I got a soapy/very cologne like perfume to a certain point it almost smelled like a men’s cologne made for women, the smell of this perfume is so strong even tho it’s a EDT it performs like a EDP it lasts on my skin FOREVER until I take a shower, the top notes are beautiful very feminine and bright, it smells expensive, the middle notes are juicy and blend well with the top notes.

I think for this perfume the cherry that it has seems more of like a “sour cherry” to me it’s not sweet, it’s fresh and juicy yet very feminine, the dry down it’s what throws me off, it becomes very soapy on my skin , and the musk amber and patchouli seem too powerful, overpowering the rest of the notes, I think it’s to a certain point headache inducing, if you don’t like patchouli this perfume’s dry down might not be your favorite, it’s a beautiful bottle and a good scent but not for everybody

It’s feminine, deep, girly , and it will make you feel beautiful and expensive

Bottle 5/5
Scent 3.5/5
Longevity 5/5
Sillage 5/5

Once I almost strangled two boys with this perfume: D I had no idea that it felt so strong and I inadvertently sprayed quite a bit. But the aroma is very nice, cherries, sweet rose. Very successful combination. in my opinion it can be worn in any season.

ZeppieKyu

I adore this fragrance, it has become my signature as of late. I spent time testing each flanker in the la petite robe noire range, and this one was my favourite. The EDP is powerful and maybe a bit much, this EDT is far more pleasant for daily wear. The EDT isn't quite as syrupy as the EDP, while still maintaining that bright cherry note which shines through. This fragrance is very feminine, I highly recommend it.

zgeco

Absolutely lovely scent but it doesnt smell almond and tea, if these notes are what you look for in a La Petite Robe Noir. Instead, it smells green apple dominated cherry. It is a fresh, young and uplifting.

I want to own a LPRN and have been looking for the one that suits me. I ve tried the Original Edp, Legere and the Edt so far. Edp and Legere are deeper with almond, tea and candied cherry smells, while Edt is crispy with green apple. I am surprised how different Edt and Edp can be while coming from the same DNA.

The dry down of Edt is quite fruity, not as almond, patchouli, tonka as Edp and Legere are.

Choice is yours. If you want to have crispy, go for Edt. If you are in love with the idea of almond, black tea, and cherry, then go ahead with Legere or Edp.

Of course looking forward to new sniffing new Nectar version, but already expect something fruity there.

zgeco

Lovely and light younger sister of the La petite robe noir eau de parfum. It is citrusy than the EDP version.

I tested both on a test paper and on my wrist to see how it develops on my skin. The difference was enormous; on paper it smelled citrusy cherry-almond but on my wrist I smelled marzipan, bitter chocolate covered brandy cherries and the Danish chrismas desert “Risalamande” ( thick- creamy rice pudding, cherry souce and almond flankers on top ). The scent smelled warm and cherry sweetened almond.

Although I describe the scents through sweets, the scent is not too sweet neither is gourmand.Rather it is a balanced, elegant Guerlain.

Not very unique I am afraid, somewhat generic. The bottle design of LPRN collection is gorgeous, just for the sake of having the bottle in my collection I consider purchasing a EDT. However it is not a “must”.

Natabeth

Very oddly, I get quite a strong lavender in this. It reminds me so much of Mon Guerlain without the vanilla. Maybe a little more dusky/powdery than MG.
Quite light and airy. I imagine it will be nice for warmer weather. Really pleasant. Will wear for work during the summer months.

sionnach66

Smells like Bounce or Tide or Glade air freshner...it smells super clean, soapy, but it has a synthetic quality that just doesn't work with my skin.

sarage

I tested the edp but ordered the edt without noticing it, until I received my bottle. This was really a happy accident, since the edp version is a bit too much for me - even though I love it. Edt is lighter and fresher, so it's perfect for me. This is a strong cherry scent that lifts up my mood in a second. I think this is better for the colder season, it's also festive. The bottle is very pretty.

anidamasceno

LPRN EDT is a very fresh fragrance and I can see myself wearing it all year.
On my skin is more floral than sweet, but the sour cherry is there, with a hint of almond. The green apple is very noticeable when you first spray it, along with the orange blossom.

Very lovely fragrance. Reminds me of a doll I had when I was a little girl, it sends me right back there. Very feminine but not "girly". It's fun in a "sassy" way, keeping an elegant aura at the same time.

kkaattjjeess

Mr Wasser just can't go wrong, can he!?

I tried the EDP before I tried this one, and I prefer that to this, but the EDT is also gorgeous. It lacks the smokiness and mystery of the original, sweeter and quite linear on my skin (nothing wrong with that in my opinion) but stunning nonetheless.

On my skin it's 80% candied cherries with 20% all the other notes.

If I was gifted this, I would 100% wear it and use it up, but wouldn't purchase it myself.

Edit: I keep thinking about this, I might purchase it soon. *awkward*

silent_hill_dylan

I recently purchased the EDP and loved it, so I bought this not long afterwards. I try not to expect anything from a blind buy and this perfume proved me right.
The only thing I can smell is an overpowering sourness that I really cant pinpoint - no gorgeous cherry or crisp apple - just a weird, vaguely fruity sourness.
I adore the EDP and the EDP Intense is one of my favourite fragrances, it's a shame this one didn't turn out to be a winner too.
Unfortunately I have to give this a low 2/10.

p.kalamaja

I love this, the cherry note is really what gets me. The florals upfront are very nice I must try the EDP now! Guerlain is Great!

ladyofthebrook

I like it, but it's not what I expected. I wanted something a little more fruity and syrupy, but on me this turns into a dusty almost powdery sweet cherry rose. I get absolutely no apple or blackcurrant on my skin. Honestly, my first impression was that it was a little grandma-ish. It's grown on me since then, and I do wear it on occasion and have received compliments. My grandma does indeed like it, and one of my guy friends who knows how much I love perfume made a point to tell me it was one of his favorites. So... it's nice, a people pleaser, and has good lasting power. Not an absolute favorite, but worth the buy.

Pixiedust2

My skin is amping up the apple and black currant. It's my own fault for not seeing the black currant listed. It smells awful on my skin. I almost blind bought this and am so happy I bought a sample. I was hoping for the cherry and almond, at least the cherry. Alas, I can't smell an ounce of cherry. I'd even take cough syrup at this point. This is very green, sour, floral and sharp on me. My husband recoiled and said I smelled like floral soap. Definitely test before you buy this one. It sounds so lovely on the vast majority of reviews. I don't think the Petite's work with my chemistry. I've tried two others and they smelled equally bad on me.

mayamdm98

It smelled too syrupy sweet when I tried it in the store. Black Perfect is the only one I like from the Petite Robe Noire collection.

LightOfJoy

When I first received this, I thought it was weak, and a little bitter and was sorely disappointed. It's now been sitting for about 6 months and it smells like a completely different scent. Now that the bottle has matured a bit, it's a complex warm whimsical (to borrow another reviewer's word) number. I find it better for warmer days than the EDP, but the pleasant play dough almond is still there, along with a light patchouli (apparently it's a thing!), and a smooth white amber. I still get a light, airy cherry, a slight apple to keep it fresh, and a bit of jasmine. In some areas that I sprayed (the warmer ones), I can also detect a smooth white musk. Its opening starts with a fresh tea and bright natural apple, but on drydown the tea turns a little smoky.

TLDR - The EDP's little playful sister that shines in the warm weather. Worth it to own both for sure.

bel.gravia

La Petite Robe Noire collection is perfection. Joy. True happiness in a bottle. The eau de toilette version is no exception. It's quite a plain composition in terms of notes, but that divine cherry, that divine cherry gives me life! (minus the cherry note we'd get a generic sweet rosy floral). I could bathe in this fragrance it's so soft and light, but not entirely humble. Very fruity fragrance with a spoon of sugar and cherry marmalade, yes, it's that delicious. Even tough, I prefer the eau de parfum version since it's a lot deeper and stronger and the marvelous cherry is even more prominent. Getting back to the eau de toilette- there's nothing not to love about this frgrance by the old good Guerlain.

SophiaG

I bought this by mistake - I was looking for the original EDP version, but was happily surprised when I first sprayed it. The disappointment from opening the box and realizing I had bought the wrong concentration (and that I would have to pay again, for a now-redundant EDP concentration) changed as soon as I sprayed this.
I can understand how some people associate this scent with air fresheners, or other cheap scents, but I cannot agree. It is definitely fresh - a juicy, fruity fresh patchouli that dries down to a beautiful musk that reminds me of clean, white sheets.
The sweet green apple and cherry opening does suggest a younger target base, but I see it as a playful, whimsical daytime fragrance suitable for casual wear.
Now that I have worn this for some time, I feel comfortable saying that having both the EDT and the EDP is not redundant. They have similar notes, but are blended very differently, and are appropriate for vastly different situations. I will be picking up a bottle of the original as soon as I can!

keiserkarel

I got a sample and tried it for a day. Hmm. It smells harsh and cheap like air fresheners for bathroom. I couldn't like LPRN except Black Perfecto.

HyacinthBucket

The difference between the eau de toilette and the eau de parfum is so enormous, they may as well be two different fragrances entirely.

The EDP is bold and juicy and perfect for evening wear. The EDT is a creamy, musky, barely there skin scent. It's lovely but not exactly what I'd wear with a "little black dress".

I wear them both but they are so unlike each other. You might want to double check the strength before you purchase because they are so different.

weegee

LPRN edt is just so, so pretty! Appropriate for all seasons, all ages and all occasions, day or night. A truly cherry-centric gourmand that's sweet but not cloyingly so. On my skin the longevity is a good 6-8 hours and the sillage IS noticeable, based upon compliments I've received when I've worn it to work.

If long, flowery/literary reviews are your preference, I do apologize, but I see no need to go on and on and on... Seems sufficient to say that LPRN edt is a lovely fragrance for lovers of cherry scents, it garners compliments and it lasts a good long while after applying.

Sale prices at fragrancenet make this beauty quite affordable, too. (I just purchased my back-up.)

PS: I have and love the edp as well and find it almost identical but the cherry is deeper/darker & a bit less sweet with a somewhat lengthier longevity. (Bought a back-up of the edp as well!)

Perfumenut1

I have been wearing this as an everyday work scent since May and I really enjoy it. I get a fruity concoction of cherry, apple, rose and white musk with a hint of amber/woody base. An easy to wear fragrance which doesn't upset my allergies. It hasn't much of a silage on my skin or clothing. The bottle is nice and compliments the pink juice - girly but grown up - Guerlain style.

Nakira93

So here it is, the LPRN flanker for me FINALLY! I have smelled the originial EDP, the Intense, the Eau Fraiche, the Legere. While I enjoyed the initial smell of all of these versions, one thing turned me off without fail- all of them had this powdery, spicy and smokey situation going on during the dry down that quite frankly turned me off! It was kind of a pungent dirty patchouli/ cinnamon/vintage vibe. Not for me.I was determined to keep trying, so I ordered a sample of the EDT...initially😉.

I sprayed. I smelled. I waited. I smelled again. I remained in awe from beginning to the end! What makes this one better to me? There is this crisp fruity musky soapy freshness that it maintains throughout wear! Do you want a Guerlain LPRN flanker that's exceeds being shower fresh, feminine, laid back, classy and modern? This is it (to me)!

This scent has been wearing beautifully during this hot summer here in Georgia. What I love the most about this scent is that it is impossible to over spray . It just gets fresher and fresher upon wear. The sour notes of cherry and apple mixed seamlessly with this sort of sophisticated white floral soapy musk is SO clean and appealing. I love it.

This is an elevated, feminine, and causal scent appropriate for every day wear.

Longevity to me, depends on how much you spray. Same with sillage. You will be able to comfortably smell it, that's for sure.

By the way, I bought the largest bottle🤣.

Couture is just as nice too but a bit more complex .

floralscents88

This is such a beautiful juice. took me by surprise. I'm not a fan of sweet scents but this is an exception, it is so well blended that I can't even separate the notes. i can dismiss the poor longevity because the bottle is so elegant and i don't mind respraying because it's worth it,imo. i didn't expect to like this more than idylle edt. i blind bought both and tested them both together on each wrist. and this one stood out the most.

Nicole f

My partner recently bought me this. I'm really liking it. The notes i smell the most are the cherry, apple, rose and a tiny bit of patchouli. I am not a fan of patchouli so I'm glad it's only slight. It's a nice scent for both day and night, out for lunch or out at a party, I think this works well in most situations.

justchillinxo

This literally smells like cranberry juice. Not worth the money.

sopke

it took time for me to appreciate LPRN EDP and it is one of my most loved scents, so i though this one will be great for summer days with added apple to be more fresh and less nutty. So basically yes, it is very suitable for hot days because of the freshness, but it disappears in 5min. Longevity is too short even for a cologne, what to say about EDT.
Despite the longevity, and speaking about the scent, cherry and apple rule with musky rose, lovely fresh combination for youthful spirits.

ashypie2004

If the EdP is rich cherry syrup, this one is fresh, cool cherry juice. It's sweet but refreshing from green notes and crisp apple, and never sickening. I wish I could drink this stuff! I also prefer this to the Eau Fraiche. If you love wearing the original EdP but it feels too heavy in warmer weather, here is the solution. Thank goodness!

macaron9

I ended up getting this EdT because I love how La Petit Robe Noir mascara smells. This smells beautiful on paper and has the same cherry and powdery soft dry down. I must say I am disappointed, because it has a cologne scent when applied on to skin and is even worse on warmer weather. I might keep looking into this line.

Mitsuko

This is the best one of the whole series in my opinion. It manages to be fruity but not sweet (enough with the sugary sweet stuff already) Fresh and feminine with subtle blue/green hues, it has more layers than the other lbd's from Guerlain.

meow78

If LPRN EdP was a bit strong with a gorgeous drydown, the EdT screams APPLES on my skin (with a hint of cherry). Apple notes turn sharp on my skin, so this one is a scrubber.

ETA: After I washed this off, I took my dog for a walk and smelled something beautiful wafting on the breeze. It was the lovely LPRN drydown. Never underestimate a Guerlain.

SniffinBloomingBubbleLand

A pretty scent, but very/too mild.

PricklyAndHot

If edp strongly reminds me Lolita Lempicka, edt strongly reminds me Princesse Marina De Bourbon. Shame, shame, shame...

p.s. Decided to describe the fragrance...

It opens with sour cherry and much less with rose, sweet and sour at the same time. And then in the sillage it starts to smell like sour cherry would mix with Princesse Marina De Bourbon. Of course, amber is noticeable. Black currant and apple are also very noticeable. Luckily on me there is no much musk. I feel musk, but there is no soap on me.

The sillage is strong. When I tested edp, I didn't get so airy sillage. I wanted edp, but the fact that it reminds me one of my favorite fragrances - Lolita Lempicka freaks me out( Maybe I wouldn't buy this one too, if I had tested it better because of the similarity with Princesse Marina De Bourbon. But I'm glad that I bought edt. It has more not deep, but fine airy sillage, despite I prefer deep fragrances.

Actually, I just wanted to find new cherry or sour cherry deep and even gourmand fragrance. But I will better buy Lolita Lempicka again. This edt I will use, too. Only... Read the review:)

Mammuchan

I bought this a year ago for myself as a birthday present. The bottle is sooo pretty, love it. But this fragrance and I just never really clicked. I felt like the notes sound lovely, but the overall effect was quite ‘meh’. That was until I woke up the other morning to a cool and rainy day and decided to try her again. Oh wow - it was a wonderful day, I felt like I floated on a cloud of cherry happiness all day. It was perfect

anniewehrli

I adore this scent! It's surprising because although I find patchouli to be a beautiful element, lately all fragrances containing it have set off migraines. Not so with La Petite Robe Noire. At first sniff, it reminded me of cherry tobacco (love!) but a couple of hours later it is sweet and almondy. This is fun, upbeat and delicious.

zzMaja

Tried again just recently. Not sure why I keep trying this one, but it could be that Guerlain is by far my favorite. Unfortunately something turns me off. Te sour cherry is too candy-like for me. It seems to over-power everything else.

modudupup

The La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Toilette is similar to the original. I love both, but I prefer the original La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Parfum because it has more character due to its nutty, licorice, marzipan, confectionary quality. The EDT version, on the other hand, still has the black cherry note, but the overall composition is more like a fruit basket instead of patisserie. This could be one reason why the EDT has weaker sillage and shorter longevity; it is more top note heavy and lacks the creamy, resinous fixatives that make other Guerlains so strong.

Overall, I'm very happy with Thierry Wasser and this new line from Guerlain! It is refreshing to see a brand maintain its original quality and air of sophistication and Parisian luxury, while branching out to create fragrances that appeal to audiences as well. While I prefer my Shalimar and Apres L'Ondee, fragrances like La Petite Robe Noire or Insolence would be great options for someone who loves Guerlain but wants a more youthful fruity-floral scent.

cherelune

I've been so excited to try (and own!) one of the LPRNs, so when I saw that an online seller destashing her and her daughter's accumulated fragrances was selling this for quite a low price, I jumped at the chance.

I still prefer the EDP, which I'd gotten a sample of a few weeks prior, but I am quite liking this one too.

The first time I sprayed it was a bit of a let down because I thought the EDT and EDP smelled more alike than they actually do. I liked the rich sweetness of the EDP, and this one wasn't as creamy sweet. Instead, I got a blast of juicy cherry that was rather tart and a bit sharp and medicinal.

But that soon settled into still more cherries, but this time with a hint of green apple. Even later, it consistently smelled of cherry, but softened very agreeably to me. It lost its tartness but retained its freshness, so that the sweetened cherry scent wasn't cloying or overbearing. The patchouli wasn't dominating; it only lent a very slight earthiness, like smelling cherries in a lush, dewy garden in the wee hours of the morning. The concoction had just a little bit of powderiness that kept the sweetness from running all over the place. I just love it so much at this point!

It later quieted down into musky soft sweetness with the last traces of cherry that I so enjoy getting wafts of.

I was almost disappointed with this fragrance (the opening is still a bit jarring up to now), but it really pays to let the scent develop. It turns out that I really love this one, especially as I don't have anything like it in my collection yet. So happy I got the opportunity to snag this at such a great price!

Gellert77

I like all of the La petite Robe Noirs that I have; EDP, EDT, Couture, Intense and Black Perfecto. And I suppose I should like Couture (raspberry) or Black Perfecto (rose) the most, due to my usual preferences, but actually, the EDT scent is the one that I like the most. Well, of course the EDT has the rose and the berry (cherry) that my usual perfume favourites tend to have, but there is also a certain freshness, that the other LPRNs do not have (although Couture comes close). I would say LPRN EDT is a spring fragrance or up north where I live also a summer fragrance (the temperatures here rarely rise above 25 Celsius - not even in the summer). There is quite a bit of romance in the fragrance, it's pink, sophisticated, sweet but still fresh. There is also something hard-to-pinpoint classic about it. As for longevity... better buy a bigger bottle or two bottles, one to keep at home and another to keep with you to reapply during the day. Sillage is ok, as long as you apply quite liberally before going out. For me this is pure spring romance.

inesita75

Wear after wear, I grew to actually hate this perfume (EDT).
In me it's sharp, cloying, like a bad quality cologne, and there's some note in it (which I can't identify but I guess it's the synthetic cherry) that makes me almost gag.
I can't believe it's from the same brand that my beloved My Insolence (no masterpiece either, but good quality and without raw edges).
I regret my purchase of a 100 ml bottle.
Maybe the problem is its chemistry with my skin, because out of the bottle I kind of like it. But in my skin it gets sour, so beware! Try before purchasing.

adice

I love the first couple hours of this fragrance. It manages to be fruity sweet but still sort of fresh. I can really smell the almond. After it dries down (hours 4-6) it does lose a little something and makes me think of any generic fruity hair spray. But yeah, I like it for the daytime/office and it lasts a good 5-6 hours. I'd probably want to reapply midday if I wore it to the office but then again sometimes I like a shorter lasting perfume for daytime so I can switch to something bolder for an evening out.

Edit: Have to admit I got some negative feedback on this one - one of my co-workers said she thought it smelled like a cheap men's cologne. Rude. Of course I still like it but consider yourself warned not everyone is going to be a fan of this one. I do sort of get what she's referencing - the freshness in this one is reminiscent of a sort typical note in some men's fragrances. I personally think it's a fun feminine version but I get how someone could draw an association to a men's sort of generic barbershop type smell.

Percoon

Smells a bit too sharp on me, does not have that warm feeling I enjoy with EDP. I still like the dry down, but the EDP stays my favourite. The flowery notes are much stronger here, less gourmand. I am more like a gourmand lover, too flowery scents give me headache. The flowers are not too disturbing here, but hence I enjoy the EDP much more.

JickyJicky

A pleasant powdery-sweet-floral scent
I always like to smell the scent straight on skin before reading what notes are contained in the fragrance as a means of discovery, seeing if I can discern notes from one another. After the dry down, you lose a bit of the fruity-sweetness and get more of a bouquet of floral scents. I imagine there are numerous florals but the ones that I can pick out are gardenia and rose. There is a bit of powderiness and a bit of a musky floral like a carnation or a marigold (I was way off)...hmmm... let's read further. So the top note is orange blossom which quickly volatilizes. You can pick out a bit of the black currant. The musk comes from the white amber and white musk. It contains some of your quintessential florals like rose and jasmine which must be at higher concentrations because those are the only two true florals listed. Et Voila!

SailorV

I like the La Petite Robe Noire EDT much better than the EDP. The EDP is similar to the Lolita Lempicka perfumes and too almondy sweet for me, the EDT is more original.

It starts with a fresh and natural cherry scent. I do smell a bit of rose, but fortunately it's not dominant and blends well with the cherry.
There is also something slightly spicy that reminds me of cinnamon or a fizzy soft drink like coke, even though I have no idea where this is coming from.
I wonder if there really isn't the tiniest hint of licorice from the original EDP, I think I can detect some.
The apple note becomes noticeable in the heart. To me it's not a green apple but rather apple juice or spritzer.
Under the refreshing fruity and floral notes there is a warm golden base of musk, amber and patchouli.
The drydown is ambery sweet with a hint of cherry coke.

Contrary to others I don't find this green, it's a warm fruity scent for me. For an EDT it's also quite intense. Very good.

Contessa01

I was hoping to get the EDP but saw the EDT on sale for a great price and thought I would purchase it. It is a pleasant cherry fragrance. My main issue with it is it doesn't have great staying power. In hindsight I would get the EDP so it would last longer. But if you have tried the EDP and find it too heavy and want a lighter version this one's probably for you. Otherwise, grab the EDP.

Toronto_pro

Sorry, but very plain (cherry note mostly) and it lasted 30 minutes on me.

Major disappointment, taking into account the brand name.

davide2111

Prodotto vivamente consigliato per under 35.
Profumo 9,5/10
Sillage 7/10
Longevità 7,5/10

Khariz

I forgot to mention, when I spray it on my clothes and my kin like on the neck, I can still smell it the next day! Ist Lasting power for an EDT is really great.

Khariz

This is way better than the original. It's light, fresh, feminine, sophisticated without trying to hard. It does not give me a headache and it does not make me wanna throw up like Viva La juicy Gold Couture.

shauna.parra

Eau de Toilette of this stuff is pleasant & more feminine than the unisex original. This has less sour cherry and is more floral and green, like a little secret garden. I would say it's mature & though marketed for the young crowds, it's pretty floral & green and exudes a little more confidence & maturity.

The opening is cherry but it's fainter than the parfum. It's a good cherry note but it plunges into the floral notes at least on me. I smell jasmine & jasmine sambac. I smell a very pretty rose & some orange blossom. There is a soapy scent coming from the amber. There's a green apple that smells like apple shampoo. In addition that green note & patchouli is not heavy and smells herbal; again similar to herbal hair shampoo. There's a lot of good smells in this perfume! I want my hair to smell of it! So I have taken up spritzing this lightly on my hair which is long right now, around the ends of my hair. It's a toilette so the concentration is not as deep and it doesn't last as long.

Such a pretty cherry & floral scent!

pearlbelle

This smells very similar to the EDP, the difference being, that EDP had cherry with a nutty backdrop. This one still has the same cherry as EDP, but the nuts have gone this time, and have been replaced with the fresh apples and green notes that the nuts caused to fade out in the EDP. Lovely scent!

Kai'elle

I gave this several wears in all conditions trying to work it out. Its a Guerlain...damn it! It should be beautiful! There is no such thing as a WEIRD and HORRIBLE Guerlain!! And certainly not one that causes traumatic childhood flashbacks of that RED MEDICINE Mum forced down my throat when I had a cough! What on earth is going on here....?

I dislike a Guerlain perfume. Omg. I actually dislike a Guerlain perfume. I'm stunned. The world may actually be flat for all I know...

Nikka Miró

I bought the packaging and the price at which I found. In the first use I was quite disappointed. I would not use more , I found good artificial smell. This note cherry bitter seemed blackcurrant syrup and took care of my Alfaro . I was shocked to be a Guerlain !

I put the perfume and some time later gave a new chance to purchase. I do not know when I did not like my expectation was sky-high , but the fact is that today , read along with him , I think nice and cool until after about 15 minutes. Nothing wonderful, but honest.

BaWika

I have an EDT version

When I first put it on I had 2 thoughts on my mind:
1. Very much like a scent from expensive, stylish, high end perfumery.
2. Very rich, delicious bakewell tart.
And those two create something really fun and flirty without being cheap.
When I smell it on my wrist I see a flirty, beautiful young girl with great style that is just going out, but not to some filthy club but to some nice place for a drink with her friends. She is open to meet some nice gentleman, talk to him and send him a couple of smiles, maybe one dance but nothing else. She just wanted to go out looking pretty.
It may sound contradictory, but even though I say 'stylish' I do not mean that grown-up, mature class and elegance. Nonetheless, it is a fantastic scent, an expensive and much-better version of drugstore fruity coctail spritz.
I do not find this to fit my taste but I appreciate its uniqueness

Lissa1991

The opening notes are too intense, what comes after is interesting (sweet, cherry-like but with a hint of flowers...), the dry down feels like a thick, old, cherry syrup. There is a lot of cherry lurking in this, but it's not a young, vibrant cherry like in Escadas' "Cherry in the Air" - it is darker, older and more cloying. Sillage is good, duration isn't bad either (5/6 hours), but overall I don't like it, it's just too sweet for my taste.

Ailee

i prefer this than the Edp. this smells a lot younger and fresher.

ana hen

Thought I will love it at winter coldness.i have 4 miniatures at cofret with edt and edp.i used half of bottle and it's nice and soapy and easy sweet, but easily forgotten.

What I feel - comfort fragrance, something that telling about cherry pie with a lot of jam , black tea and calm lovely evening, hug from mom or good friend, and her majestity strawberry soap - clean pleasant inviting smell .

I like it very much but adore Prada "infusion d'iris":)

mluckyg

It smells like sweet cherry, berries and red apple scent. This EDT is fresher and sweeter, less licorice and less complex composition compared to the EDP. I prefer the EDP.

Madrona

Smelling this one next to the EdP, the EdT is all about the patch, rose and cherry. As in the Ma Premiere Robe version, gone is the liquorice, but these are two different compositions - MPR is considerably closer to the original than the EdT is.

The patchouli in the EdT is a bit dirty - it's really taking center stage to my nose - but the strong rose softens it and the introduction of the apple note lends just the right amount of cleanliness to balance it all out. If the EdP reads too sweet and medicinal for you, do try this one.

alexyoung1993

I got this perfume for Christmas. Every time I wear it, I feel so classy and elegant. For starters, the bottle itself is so beautiful. The perfume itself is beautiful as well. When I first smell this perfume, I definitely smell cherry and nuts. In my opinion, that sounds strange for a perfume, but in all honesty, it smells delightful. I've never smelled anything like this. (I've never smelled the EDP of this perfume, so I can't compare it to that.)

The only con I have with this perfume is that I can't smell it after approximately two hours. However, this could be something to do with my own nose because I seem to have a lot of problem smelling any perfume a few hours after I spray it.

Would I recommend? OF COURSE!

Soofiya

It's been a while since I fell in love with this gorgeous cute bottles, but I could'nt get along with LPRN edp, though it was not in my dislike list but there was something there that pushed me away,a medical smell, perhaps licorice+cherry
To be honest,I bought edt without even a single test, hoping to own a lighter version of edp to give it time and maybe get along with it more easily,it turns to be right that I am really lucky in my blindbuys, there is no need to try to like this one, this is just mine from the initial spray
LPRN edt is the younger sister,Ican see similar genes, but this one is lighter, brighter, fresher, happier, much more wearable for me
It is a simple floralfruity, starts mouthwarering sour and sweat with a dominant cherry and apple, and soon rose and jasmine kick in,this young a bit green scent makes me smile,it's as refreshing as drinking a cool glass of smoothie(mix of fruit juices)in a hot summer day...and what is this green nutty undertone here?!I can detect it vividly but there is not such a note listed here,is this pistachio?or a green almond?I simply love it❤
I prefer to wear it during spring, and am thankful of guerlain for such a easygoing younglady spring scent, unexpectedly my man loves it and encourages me to use it daily, the only problem here is about moderate longevity and sillage, which is not bad for an edt
❤❤❤❤

Blast of fruits from the beggining, after I feel only soapy cherry...but still trying pal up with this fragrance...

Antares811

I'm not a fan of sweet and fruity scents but this is an exception for me: I love this EDT and I prefer it over the EDP which I find too fruity and strong.
This EDT is beautiful, the opening is fresh yet sweet, flowery and fruity (I mostly smell jasmine, rose and cherry - the dominant note -), then it turns into a warm scent.
The drydown is amazing.
Plus it owns the elegant Guerlain's touch.
Suitable for every age and season. The lasting power is good for an EDT.
Lovely!

Calinare

I had high expectations for this... but disappointed me. Delices smells tad a bit better because it's a little balanced than LPRN EDT. This smells just rancid cherries on drydown. Plus the patchoulis popping out of nowhere--- meh. Good thing I checked from the stores before making a blind buy. Longevity is poor. Very faint around 3-4 hours mark.

mschnabel666

Oh. *sniff sniff* Oh.

That is about all I can say.
I ADORE the EDP and love the jammy fruit of Couture, but this is boring and weak!

I get a very light powdery cherry unique to LPRN, but that is about it. The rest of it is a very soapy generic floral scent. Boring. And unlike the EDP and Couture, this has no lasting power at all. Weak.

Sad.

As it gets colder in Michigan, this seems to last a bit longer... even tho I used about 6-8 sprays. It's a very DRY and somewhat dusty cherry. Still soapy, like a dryer sheet.

plum

After wearing EDP for a few days in row, I decided to try this one (I have samples of both, probably given while they were just launched).
While I have started to appriciate EDP, I cannot say the same about EDT. I don't smell cherries at all (oposite to EDP). But I can smell something, a note which immediately disqalifies this fragrance in my eyes (or in my nose): I have no idea what it is, because I am finding it in very different perfumes and when I am trying to compare the notes here, I cannot find a common denominator. I smelt it in Femme by Boss and some others. It's probably my skin plus some notes but as I said, I am not able to find it.
Anyway, this one has quite poor longevity - after 4 hours there's no single trace of this fragrance on me.
If EDP is a Parisian girl, she is a girl in her early thirties. EDT is a Parisian teenager who just got her first expensive perfume and tries to not overdose it.

TOP 5 Guerlain's

Lovely36

There are days when I crave this scent. The spicy cherry makes me feel energized but sexy. It's an experience every time I wear it. You can't beat the quality of Guerlain. I'd love to own their classics. I like to think it smells like Paris - escapism in a bottle.

tinaelisa

I got this because I LOVE the edp and wanted a lighter version for summer that I could spritz more liberally. But I don't like this one at all. Especially the opening. It has a sharp soapiness that I really don't like. The almondy-dusty-cherry-licorice goodness does come in the dry down and resembles the edp a bit in that stage, but definitely not as good as the edp..
I have a huge 100 ml tester bottle. Would like to swap for the edp but rather inside the EU or even better inside the Netherlands. Let me know.

Megamind

April 2015: It was on my wish list and finally I purchased it. My previous review was based on a paper strip try but finally the notes are little bit different so I review it again.
Definitely cherry is the very first note detectable. There is a little bit of rose note as well. Finally I do not notice apple so much but it should be somewhere on the background. Jasmine is noticeable as well and not in your face way. A big surprise for me is this patchouli note that finally is rather characteristic and at the same time completely different from the one in any other fragrance tested so far. Usually I do not like it so much and avoid perfumes with a strong patchouli note as it destroys the scent for me. But here I just love it and with patchouli it becomes more punchy making disappear an illusion about the young and completely girly type of fragrance. Patchouli makes this eau de toilette more mature. It is finally not so sweet just slightly sweet, it is more fresh then creamy. It just cannot become annoying. Gerlain is a very old perfume house so no doubt that this perfume is of a high quality with a very long lasting power and strong silage.
A definitive keeper.

October 2015: it's so pretty, refreshing and so cute as scent! I find myself achieving it more and more often. I like it so much! I would like to own in addition a green bottle of the Robe with pistachio note. It has a similar vibe but notes are different. Guerlin signature is recognizable in both.

rschmidt65

I'm stunned by how much I dislike this. I've always loved Guerlain. I wore nothing but for years and even now can't narrow the number of classic Guerlains for my "want" list to a manageable number.

I got ahold of a decant after smelling this on a friend and loving it. On her it seemed spicy, fruity and interesting. I went ahead and doused myself, trusting it would be awesome. On me it's a dull fruity sweet thing that abruptly turns into an all pervasive reek of cheap male soap-on-a-rope in the dry down. It didn't end til I scrubbed.

I'm grateful to GabriellaPerfume for validating my experience! While I didn't get Encre Noir specifically (never having made it to the dry down on that one), there is something very masculine about the dry down and it seemed like the two parts weren't playing together at all.

Approaching new Guerlains with caution . . .

GabriellaPerfume

A cherry chapstick wind goes over a sparkling juicy rose. I smell a bit of licorice, wich I think it's pretty insane (in a good way). On my skin the longevity is moderate, the sillage is moderate. The dry down was very intriguing, smell on me like Encre Noire de Lalique.

tinaelisa

Oh yes, it's a top quality fragrance! I'm already a big fan of the edp and wanted a lighter version for the spring and summer time, so I got this one as well. It starts of a bit fresher (fruity and a teeny tiny bit soapy), but settles in to the way the dry down of the edp smells within a few minutes. It's just a bit softer and less strong. Lasting power is great and I'm really happy to have this for the spring now!

Megamind

Lovely fruity sweet and warm scent. I tested it today in a perfumery shop.
My nose detects rather intensive jasmine and cherry on the first place, orange blossom and apple. Then a hint of rose but not so intensive. It's a sweet creamy perfume exactly as I like. This creamy note is due to the musk and amber gives this so comforting warmth.
I do not have it yet but and have no idea if this scent can become boring but any case it is fixable. I will only need to change the perfume from time to time.
Is on my wish list as I just love it.

HanamiTsukimi

In a perfume world over-saturated with non-nondescript fruity florals, leave it to Guerlain to do this thing right.

La Petite Robe Noire EDT is cheerful, positive, and youthful in the best sense. It's not that it's a "teenage" scent, it's that it's energizing. It starts off with fresh cherries, apples and rose petals. Later on the patchouli comes through, nothing forceful, and the green sweetness of the top notes melts into the warm sweetness of very light musk and amber. The drydown reminds me alot of Lolita Lempicka, another favorite, but this is less mystery and magic and more fresh and fun.

I'm a big gourmand fan but I tend to be wary of fragrances that are top heavy with fruit. They tend to smell more like body splashes than perfumes and lack the "umph!" factor. But this is one of my favorites in the genre. It's very well-balanced sweet to sour, fruity to floral, airy to earthy.

wayway2hotinaz

Beautiful right at first spray! Rose and Jasmine! Cherry comes in pretty quickly after and then apple. Very sweet. Amber, one of my favorites, comes in a couple of hours later, but by then the scent is fading quite fast. I sprayed again at 3 1/2 hours (and then again two hours after that). At first I was only liking this, but I really do love it! And, I'm not too young....hope it is okay that I love it :) (When asking my 8 year old daughter what the smell is at 2 hours, she said cinnamon applesauce.)

chinna

Being fresher and greener than the EDP and couture, the almond is most noticeable. But it is a dusty almond like My insolence

weegee

There are so many versions of this one it's difficult to remember which style of dress is featured on each version's bottle but this is the one I happened to purchase and I'm very glad to have it. I appreciate it more each time I wear it.

Is it sophisticated? No. Is it a "classy" Guerlain? No. But it IS definitely a long lasting, youthful and uplifting fragrance that creates a happy mood and makes me smile each time I wear it.

Cherries and patchouli combine to create a Cherry Coke/Cherry Dr. Pepper concoction that's a truly tasty gourmand treat.

Never fails to get compliments. When I wear it to work people tell me I smell delicious. That's a win in my book.

risarii

I love this fragrance, as well as the EDP.
While the EDP is cherries and smokey tea, this EDT is cherries, almonds and a feminine powdery note. It's bubbly and girly but also comforting and warm. I don't get the extreme "green" notes some people complain about, which is good as I don't really like green accords.
The silage (on me) isn't all that strong but it lasts very well for such a soft scent. On clothes, it lasts all day.

I know this is almost universally described as a perfume for those under 30 (some people say strictly teens!) but I disagree. Besides the fact that it makes no sense to categorize smells by age (since everyone is different and age really isn't important), it doesn't smell like typical "teen perfumes." I'd say, even based on traditional ideas of perfumes for ages, this suits anyone. It isn't overly cotton-candy sweet and the powdery note makes it less "little-girl" and more womanly.

This has become one of my favorite perfumes and I think it's great for every day and any season! Merci, Guerlain!

Orsyna

I love it!Sexy sweet long lasting. Wonderful on my skin :)

Jenge

I really wanted to love this, but the mental image I get every time I wear it is a pile of cute pink cherry flavored mini marshmallows dusted with Comet cleansing powder. It doesn't make sense looking at the notes, but that's what I smell.

The EdP was too cloying for me, this one is too strange, maybe Couture will be just right.

Claire35

I love this perfume! I bought it for the first time in February and I completely fell in love with it. It's very feminine and chic. It stays for ages on my clothes and the packaging is absolutely wonderful. Yes, this is one of my favourite scents!

peferrarine

To me is the same as EDP, without the smoky incensed note that i get when i use the EDP. A nice daytime version of the EDP.
The same sour cherry, the same sweet flirty vibe, but toned down to daytime wear.

A really nice addition to La Petite Robe Noire family.

Juliana6

A lighter, sheerer version of the Petite Robe Noire edp (which is obvious), but also a fresher and greener scent. I smell the same candied cherries (with some alcohol added) just without that jam thickness I get from edp version, and there is a nice white floral and juicy fruit composition present. Like sitting in a garden, opening a box with candied cherries in dark chocolate and feeling a warm breeze passing through the branches of the blooming bushes and trees in that garden.
It's an edt, but the sillage and the lasting power are great. There's a bit of that French attitude in it -simple, easy, but still so chic and always elegant.
I wear it when I want to feel lovely, feminine and polished. There's just one step from feeling lovely, feminine and polished to being like that -and that's the perfume!

auroramaria

I have had this fragrance on since this morning and it is still going strong excellent longevity and good sillabe glad i van use this version for the summer and it is is so sweet and lovely.

fiouu

I like it a lot but to be honest this is like miss dior cherie, less sweeter and with cherries. To be more exact, smells exactly like miss dior cherie's drydown with cherry. There you have it. Of course I've raped my Full bottle of this EDT AND favor it over "Miss Dior".

victoria.mei1992

Ugly and synthetic.

julieekerr

this is my 16 year old daughter's favorite fragrance. She tested it and fell in love. a little to fruity for my taste but great for the under 25's. light uncomplicated and pretty. perfect for spring or summer.
i preferred the EDP.

zzMaja

I have also tried the EDP which I love. The EDT just doesn't do it for me. There is something sweet and sickening about the scent that comes out on the top notes and unfortunately remains throughout the day. The top notes are too sharp and almost artificial or chemical smelling to me. Sorry, Guerlain becasue I really am a strong fan of yours.

CozyCat

It's not bad, clean fruity notes of sweet cherries and green apple, a touch of rose...but the dry-down makes me feel uncomfortable with it's sharp green-soap nuance. I normally like soapy (mostly warm, spiced soapiness ala Secret Obsession), but this is patchouli soap underneath some pink floral-fruitiness. I actually knew of a very inexpensive green soap (made in India I think) that smells just like this, it had a richer, sharper scent compared to other pricier Western brand soaps, and in my teens, I used to stick those cheap green soaps in my wardrobe to softly scent my underwear and clothes. LPRN edt also makes me think of room or linen spray...or just simply...out of bath after showering with green soap, toweling down, then dusting the body with cherry scented talcum powder. I don't want to smell like this personally, nor do I feel like it's anywhere close to being worth the price they're asking for it, it's just not interesting enough...but overall it's not horrible if you're into it, versatile, good for all ages, not just for younger women. Good sillage and longevity for an EDT, it lasted around 7-8 hours on me when I tried it. I actually prefer the cherries in cheapo scent Jean Arthes Amore Mio over this...happier, juicier, more vibrant, abit like cherry sour ribbons with jasmine. I would much rather smell like cherry sour ribbons and jasmine for cheap, than cherry juice and sharp soap for an arm and a leg.

LizzieBea

If one could smell the color pink, it would smell like La Petite Robe Noire. Enjoyment of this perfume depends entirely on whether or not that is your thing. It's certainly well made. I respect the effort, but it's just not for me.

MandiPants85

In the beginning I was discriminating against this one because the EDP was a little funky on me, not necessarily bad per se, I just couldn't like it, it was too soapy and sickly sweet. The other day I was in the Guerlain Boutique and the girl suggested I try this one. I love it! It's so fresh and airy. It lacks the licorice that makes it's sister EDP sickly sweet and the cherry and apple give an excellent balance together to make a very nice blend of fruity goodness. I find this one as well for an EDT lasts longer then the EDP (ironic right?!). I'm a huge patchouli fan too so this to me is a great scent. I think I may go back to the boutique and get it for the summer time. It to me is the perfect fume for sitting out on the terrace of a nice restaurant downtown enjoying a daiquiri in mid June early July watching people go by!

ScarlettX

So, I tested accidentally EDT version, because those bottles are so confusing. Here it goes anyway...
I enjoy it a lot. It's very pretty scent. So girly and playful. Perfect for the beginning spring.
I can only sense cherries, but I love it. Very long lasting for a EDT.
So lovely.

zuleikarega

I really wanted to love this perfume, especially because I simply adore the bottle and I love the idea of it smells like cherries.

I blind-bought this perfume, along with a Burberry and one YSL. I gotta say, it was not my favourite in this purchase.

I read the review and I really expect to smell lots of fresh flirty fruity cherries in it.
Instead, I smelled the orange blossom coming pretty strong at the beginning (I know it said the orange blossom is in the mid note, maybe its just me)
I somehow feel the cherry, but in a warm kinda way. More like a smell of a cherry juice that you sip in a cold winter, while sitting in front of a burning fireplace (I apologise for any absurd imagination there lol i hope you get the idea).

I still like it, but couldn't love it.

Its lingers pretty nicely on my skin, I still smells it after hours, and it lingers even longer on my jacket. Two hours after I first sprayed it on my wrist, I showered, and still somehow smelled it there.
Its a girly scent, absolutely. The kind of warm feminine scent.

It is different from what I expected but was not that bad that I would put it on the bottom shelf in my perfume cabinet.

mylancome

At first I really dislike the EDT, smell like hair spray. But since Guerlain SA gave me a miniature with my EDP set purchase, I can give it a try again.

I give it few dabs on my arm and front chest, and sit in a cooling room. That smell, like I can fly. I sit on Business Class flight, looking out from the plane window, the sky was in dark blue with some little stars and town lights on the bottom.

From the blog, Pink Manhattan described that strange feeling for me, it is a direct descendant of Vol De Nuit. Oh, a 2000 era Vol De Nuit! Takes me fly to the moon.

jedrzejowskia

Joan Marie Bauman mentioned below that Hermes and Guerlain only use natural essences. This would explain why both 24 rue Faubourg and this perfume broke me out.
I really adore it, I love the rosey, vanillary, maraschino cherry compotte so much. It projects. It stays, the sillage is amazing (7hours and counting!). It's cute, cozy, warm and comforting... it smells of Guerlinade.
It has this slightly masculine edge on me as well which I appreciate and respect in well made perfumes.
But I won't be able to use it since I'm getting an allergic reaction to it.
It's the beast of this beauty :-( very sad.

AnnBerg

I really like this fragrance but I don´t love it. It is light, soapy and a bit sweet. At fist I smell mostly cherries and after a while cherries, roses and musk. I find it light, classy and sweet. It is longlasting but the sillage is not that good, however it melts into my skin in a nice way.

limbaeck

Totally agree with Kelly Marie, I didn't like in the first place, then I gave it another try and wow...in love! I also think it is perfect for spring and will try to combine with Chloe, roses + cherries, yumm!
What I really like about it is that it lasts long without being too strong as PRN intense is for me.

kelli.marie

Eh it's ok. ::shrug:: A bit disappointing for my first Guerlain.

Edit: Ok I was SO wrong about this. Honestly, didn't give it a fair shot. I relaxed a bit after a hot shower and gave this another go--- it is very cherry. But for some reason I REALLY enjoy it now! My husband seems to like it too!

I layered it over Chloe Roses and it was just gorgeous on the dry down. Perfect layering scent or pick me up! It's quite good layered over the body milk as well.

Sweet and young and dreamy. Going to love this in the spring!

Mary-Jayne

Well I started my dalliance with guerlain earlier this year, falling in love with Insolence EDP, then the amazingly beautiful L'Heure Bleue and L'Instant, all of which I foresee being favourites for a long time to come. I tried Mitsouko which I like though not as much as the others and have had a brief flirtation with Mandarine Basilic from the Aqua Allegoria line.

So when the friendly lady at the local counter saw me passing and called me over to try this I was happy to oblige. She gave me about 6 small sample bottles of this (you know those little 1.5ml sprays in the piece of cardboard.
"It is really beautiful" she enthused "you might like this one".

So next day, fresh out of the shower I gave this a try. You know those cherry menthol sweets you can buy for a cold or sore throat - 'Tunes' here in the UK? Well this smells exactly like those. 30 seconds of standard Guerlain opening, after that there is nothing more, nothing less, just cherry cold sweets. I am not really a fan of fruity perfumes anyway so my opinion may be biased but this really wasn't for me. There was no depth, no nuance, no subtelty or intrigue, just cherry sweets.
I could not believe this was a Guerlain fragrance. After an hour I could stand it no more, there had been no development on my skin and it didn't warm or meld into my skin as other perfumes do, it was just sat on top like I had a half-sucked 'Tune' on my arm, so I washed it off therefore I cannot comment on longevity, though I get the feeling this would have given me a stonking headache had I left it on longer. Projection was moderate, so a shame I didn't like it.

This may suit those who like really fruity sweet perfumes, or those who have a thing for cherry menthol throat sweets! I think this would be a nice perfume for a young teen maybe, although for the price I would get them something different. Still can't get over the fact this is a guerlain! My samples are going to be stocking fillers for my young female cousins.

Mellyhelly

The first of a long row of flankers of a so called modern Guerlain.
EdP is not my kind at all, but at least it had power and distinction, especially in a market dominated by these sickening sweet scents with no elegance. I wish that that EdP smelled good as the campaign is beautiful but it's mostly about marketing.
EdT came for lighter tastes, it makes sense, not too bad, but really watered down and more in the stream of cherry&fruit, but also incredibly soapy like clothes detergent in the opening. It's a light perfume yet it can become obnoxious on skin or maybe it's just nothing special, but you keep smelling it while wearing and it tires. It keeps a good 2 hours to get to a soft and faint patchouli relief.
A total no-buy for me and yet Guerlain is going steam with this flanker obsession as any other perfume house.
Please, create something new and worthy.

mister_chaz

LPRN EDT is like the EDP but without the "oomph"; probably because it lacks that licorice note. It's a fresher version, fruity and pretty, quite inoffensive cherry. Smells a little like a cherry-scented shower gel. Nothing extraordinary, but pleasant to the nose. There is a slight shade of Lolita Lempika Fleur Defendue, these two seem to have something in common.

Mochahantas

I blind-bought this. I like it, not love it. Like it enough to possibly keep it.

To me, it's the cherry version of Flowerbomb. Take out the heavy patchouli, add a boatload of cherry and some powder to the background and it's Flowerbomb with a cherry twist. It does NOT last long however, and I'm okay with that. It's a bit syrup-y to me and cherry isn't one of my favorites. Can come across like cough medicine to me.

Thick, syrup-y cherry, some very distant floral and a sprinkling of powder is what it gives me. Sillage only lasts 1 hour, with lasting power 3, maybe 4 on clothes. It def. isn't worth the price and for a Guerlain, I certainly expected more.

Do I recommend? Sure, why not. But must be a cherry lover and like sweet scents.

Dovey345

I really wanted the original but i recieved the EDT for a gift. It smells very similar but not as strong and does not last very long either. I love this fragrance, it reminds me of being a child as it smells like blackcurrent iceblocks we had as kids. It is very sweet, musky and slightly spicy. I would recommend the original.

ardentis

Smelled so lovely in the bottle -- and so awful on my skin. It's giving me a headache and driving me crazy. On my skin, I don't pick up any of the musk, just powdery, sour floral notes. I can't wait to wash this off.

Kanz Oman

Herbal Essence Shampoo in a bottle !!! waste of money

The Swedish girl

Death by patchouli. (The EDT)

Smells like Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, and all the other THOUSANDS of modern patch scents. Like a dirty sock mixed with headache inducing sharpness.

NUFF with the patchouli scents now, the market is flooded!

jessbug

I was expecting a lighter version of the original, but to me it's a completely different perfume. The EdT is nice, but I'm glad this wasn't one of my blind-buys, as it turned completely bland and forgettable on me.

The cherries smell sour and watery on me, and right from the start a nondescript fruity-floral scent starts creeping to the front. After an hour I can't even be sure what I sprayed on anymore.

I do think that with the right skin chemistry this is a real beauty, one that would smell especially pretty in spring and summer. Unfortunately (or fortunately, for my wallet), I don't have the skin for this, so I'll just stick with the EdP.

RoRoSe

For me it's so delicious, delight & super classy

I am so in love with this EDT .. it's a very watered down copy of the original, less smoky, younger and happier with a smoother character.

green tea, apple and cherries, so fresh & sweet.

lasting power & sillage are good, I wish if it lasts longer.

too pricey !

sky74

A very beautifull fruit juice. I want it!!!

the_blue_cat

This one is not at all what I have expected! It's very similar to the original Robe Noire, more watery, less medicinal. But it's still not the cherry scent that I was hopping for. It doesn't have the depth that I was looking for, it's too "green" and soapy. The notes are all alright in my book, but the result lacks in personality. ooh: and the green apple note kinda spoils everything for me.(we used to have a very cheap "greeen apple" scented soap in our country and I still don't respond well to that note).

frezziq

I go to the gym with " La petit robe noire" although I wear sport clothes :) It s fresh and sexy fragrance...

paojaime

This perfume is gorgeous! It is sweet and sophisticated, you can easily recognize the cherries. I sprayed this on my wrist today to sample it, and I will have to buy it for myself as a birthday gift :) The opening is very fresh, slightly green. As it begins to dry down, I concur with other reviewers that it turns somewhat spicy. Almost has a pink pepper-ish feel to it. Once it completely dries down, it is a very musky sweet. It sticks to your skin like glue, and lasts very well for an EDT. After six hours, the smell is still strong on my skin. I love that the smell is consistent. I have many perfumes that are sweet/fruity initially and then loose their magic. This perfume is fresher at first and spicier in the middle, but I feel like it maintains its character. Also, it is way longer lasting than my other sweet perfumes, probably thanks to the musk. Love love love it.

kadinurr

Opening: girly cherry blast.
Then turns slowly into really intresting composition - I can't disdinguish different notes, it is sweet and round. On my skin it turns very soapy, but in an intresting way so that i can't stop smelling my wrist. Still the base is sickingly sweet (reminds me Loverdose) so i'm not sure if i can wear it indoors. It is not classic little black dress, too unusual for that.

scandi

I just love it. Tried it on at Mitsukoshi a month ago and the scent stuck in my mind so I couldn't resist buying it when I found in a taxfree shop at the airport.

The initial spray does have a slight shampooie feel to it, I got a feeling of just washed hair but the scent is soft, classy and smells expensive. Cherries, apples and almonds stand out the most.

After 20 mins it turns slightly spicy on my skin, I'm not yet sure if I enjoy this part, but I guess it gives this perfume an edge and makes it interesting. Funnily enough I don't get the spice at all when I spray it on my clothes.

The Edt is very different from the Edp. I didn't even realize it was the same scent in different strengths when I tried them both on. I found the Edt enchanting while I really didn't care for the Edp at all.

StellaDiverFlynn

The opening is like crunching juicy cherries. I got a blast of syrupy cherry scent. Although I find it still a little bit synthetic, it's not unpleasant. It captures well the tartness along with the sweetness, and is actually pretty close to the real scent.

Once settled down, the cherry no longer stands at the front alone and blends with the emerging floral notes, among which the rose is the most detectable. If sticking the nose to the skin, the crisp green apple can also be easily detected. It then remains floral until the end, with cherry and green apple lingering along, adding a refreshing touch. It somehow smells like fruity rose candy.

Overall it's a sparkling and youthful fruity-floral scent for daily use in warm seasons. I do agree that the name can be misleading. However, like suggested by the cheerful and playful campaign, you can imagine that it's not a litte black dress that fits the figure perfectly, but with tutu and ribbon. Bearing this in mind, there might be less unexpected disappointment.

The sillage can reach moderate especially for the opening. And the longevity is quite impressive for an EDT. It lasted almost 12h on me. I'd recommend it if someone is looking for a cherry fragrance in a bright mood. Other than that, it doesn't have much else to offer. If you didn't give it a try, I don't think that you have missed much stuff.

HebaD'Opium

This is just lovely, I have a sample of this pretty EDT I sprayed it first thing in the morning and it's perfect for spring/summer and i actually imagine it on a winter night as well, just before going to bed!!

It's opening is very pretty, on my skin it's all about sour cherries at first spritz but after i rub my wrists together (I do this to offer the perfume more breathing space and to have a touch of perfume to both wrists without concentrating it...i'm used to heavy perfumes lol) So the sour cherries, yes....tart with a hint of sweetness to it and i actually get a bit of patchouli with the apples and orange blossom, I dunno how they made it this time, every note is distinct but they blend so nicely together.
After about 10 mins after it settles down, i get some green notes but it's very subtle as well as the roses and jasmine which is weird they always pop on my skin but this time they're really tame while the freshness of the apple and the orange blossom are more dominant and the sour cherries somehow tones these two down. I think it's also because of the amber, its warmness is countering the effect of the freshness and we're left with a well balanced sweet-fresh-tart scent.
Now the musk, i think it's the anchor of perfumes, whenever it's there on the list down at the base notes I know that it'll be subtle throughout the experience but THERE ya know giving the perfume richness and well anchoring it. I love musk.
I think it's weird that the appearance of the notes on me are reversed and i can't seem to keep the rose and jasmine on me for long, they stay for another 10 mins after settling down then just they disappear. It's not sad, I've a lot of perfume that have jasmine and rose where these notes are "present" so it's a nice change for me to have them for a while then buhbye, I actually like this.
The dry down features patchouli, very well presented with the sour cherries which is the dominant note in this fragrance I like the dry down very much, it's fresh and has a hint of citrus to it somehow.

I'm actually impressed, i tested the EDP before and i think it's less impressive if you compare it and the EDT. I'm talking about the 1st EDP here the 2009 one which is has a very strong licorice note that made me hate the perfume. However, this EDT made me reconsider the whole La petite robe noire collection and i might give the EDP of THIS edt a try or la petite robe noire 2. I'm excited to try them now which is weird ;P
I might get it actually, it's not something I'd get but this year I'm trying to buy perfumes out of my comfort zone and experiment with fruity and sweet scents (which i used to dread and avoid)

BACK TO THE REVIEW, i tend to lose focus sometimes lol, the sillage is not bad, it's not so close to the skin but it's not all over the room, not bad. The longevity is also not bad it stays for 3-4 hours, but who cares if i had this perfume i'd reapply it whenever i can, it's very pretty, lovely and pleasant :P Chic in a fun way.
It's a perfect perfume to start your day when you're feeling good and wanna stay feeling this way throughout the day.
Do i like it? yes. Do I love it? I think I certainly did. A very weird thing of me to love such a perfume, a nice change for me.

pauluch3

I think it's the first Guerlain fragrance I'm willing to actually wear as my everyday scent. It's so wearable and fresh, very unlike other Guerlain perfumes. It is a quality product without being too pretentious. I love it!

*****

MLK

I loved this perfume from the initial spray onto my skin. It works a lot better on me than the EDP version which is too strong. The EDT is lighter and fresher and easier to wear.

The EDP has a very strong licorice smell which dries down after about 20 minutes. However, if you don't want to wait 20 - 30 minutes for the drydown and strong licorice smell, then the EDT is the one to get. I think that the EDT is suitable for all ages as my daughter (in her early 20s) also loves it.
Very pretty scent for day or night.

sky76sky

Pleasant, mainstream offering.

LPRN opens with a burst of sweet & sour roses, crisp Granny Smiths (almost grapefruit in nature) & that newly washed & tumbled static clothing buzz. It's fresh, warm, breezy & girly...& very far removed from the character of most Guerlain scents I know.

Is this a bad thing? That is down to taste: if you are trying to introduce your house to a new audience then this mainstream perfume will be a people-pleaser, but I can see it upsetting most Guerlain devotees.

After the tart opening LPRN settles down swiftly to orange polenta cake, buckets of white musk & a rosy fruit compote that is vaguely reminiscent of cherries (cherry fruit corner yoghurt, anyone?). The patchouli is tame with very little depth & oomph - but this creates a happy little fragrance. LPRN is more about smelling pretty rather than making a definite statement.

Not my idea of a go-with-anything little black dress...but then I'm more of an eccentric, bold dresser, anyway. Horses for courses.

Joan Marie Bauman

Oh how I love this perfume! I love the EDP, too, and am delighted that the EDT is different enough to merit purchasing it, since I already have a big bottle of the EDP!
The EDT has good staying power, and, fortunately for me, I have the right skin chemistry to wear this perfume. My nose is enchanted by it, and I don't find any of the medicinal smells noted by other reviewers. Guerlain, I am told, along with Hermès and Chanel, are amongst the few perfumers that refuse to use synthesized ingredients. For example, I cannot use Obession or Poison - they turn to bad Savon de Marseille on my skin. Yuk!!! I can only use natural essences, a family trait shared by my mother and sister. So chalk it up to genetic influence, stop criticizing, and buy something else if this one isn't nice on you!
I absolutely adore this lovely new scent!

LaPetite

I really disliked the EDP , way to syrupy, to much licorice ...
If you are like me, you may like this one , it is much more "wearble" , i'm usually more and EDT person , and here is no exception , very peasant , and suited for a day wear / springwear .
Try it even if you dislike the EDP !

Arlene-Beatrix

Sweet, but chic, ladylike, perfect for evening. Beautiful bottle. I'm so happy that I like Eau de Toilette! I did not like stronger eau de parfum and regretted a lot that I wouldn't have this bottle beauty in my bathroom...
Now, I can have eau de toilette bottle. Great!

Jeongwonlee12

I JUST LOVE THE BOTTLE SO MUCH!! <3 but the scent is terrible to my taste..

lat

I'm sorry but this is so awful! It smells like cheap detergent, plastic cherries and the opening is straight up cough medicine.
I'm giving my sample away, this sharp washing powder scent is making me nauseous.

aigilia

First of all i love the bottle so gorgeous and girly! The opening i get lots of sour cherry then after an hour i can smell bit of rose, green notes, fruity and musky..fresh and lovely scent;-)

On the opening is a distinctive floriental fruity slightly gourmand type. But after one hour, here came the fun part: sparkling citrus; crispy praline feeling; fruity red fruit; and a bouquet of all colors of flower; vanilla gourmand still; soft but strong woody base with patchouli, sandalwood, moss; musk.

Licorice is much less in edt than in Edp. Yes. Thats right. Edt is much more fresher, like after shower spraying. Edp is more for evening. *Smiles*

I happened to have a sample of Guerlain La Petite Robe Noir Eau de Toilette and find it's opening somewhat similar to Diptyque L'Ombre Dans L'Eau (EDP) except it's sweeter and more complex. The tartness of the fruity opening quickly dissipated to give room for a soft flash of beautiful rose and a hint of jasmine before regaining it strength, in a pleasant kind of way. The dry down of this picks up a softer tone of amber and patchouli. As I always like rose fragrance, I would most certainly give it a try (if it is given to me as a gift).
