White Tea Vanilla Orchid by Elizabeth Arden is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. White Tea Vanilla Orchid was launched in 2019. The nose behind this fragrance is Gil Clavien. Top notes are Quince, Bergamot, elemi and Lemon; middle notes are Vanilla Orchid, White Tea, Gardenia and Jasmine; base notes are Vanilla, Musk, Amberwood, Orris and Ambrette (Musk Mallow).

WHITE TEA VANILLA ORCHID evokes the richness of a cool evening. The romantic candlelight casts a warm invitation as shadows grow long outdoors. The feeling of warmth and comfort is present and makes the whole idyllic atmosphere calm and relaxing.

The opening notes of White Tea Vanilla Orchid includes the Primofiore lemon, bergamot essence, elemi oil and quince. The heart is dominated by white tea combined with floral notes of gardenia, dewy jasmine and vanilla orchid, while the base is made of ambrette, orris, vanilla essence, amberwood and musks.

“In creating Vanilla Orchid, I wanted to capture the moment of pure tranquility and comfort, like cozying up under a soft blanket. The fragrance is a warm indulgence of soothing tea, sensual vanilla orchid, and woody musks that blend together for a smooth and serene escape.” – Perfumer Gil Clavien, describing the inspiration for White Tea Vanilla Orchid

White Tea Vanilla Orchid is available as 30, 50 and 100ml Eau de Toilette from March 2019.

scentiful

A smooth musky but clean scent.

FlowerSeeker

This one’s not for me. I don’t feel like the vanilla blends with the rest of the perfume. The notes battle each other.

It feels like a white vanilla. Clean and less sweet. There’s a cacao note too. Good price point. Vanilla lovers should give it a try!

Mimithenoynoy

I had blind bought it 2 years ago. It was a waste of money. I just do not like it. Big noooooo

I think this might be the strongest White Tea in the line, but as with all of them, you need to wear them in warm weather to get the best from them! This is sweet and creamy. Oddly enough I think it smells so much like Britney Spears Prerogative Ego that I think I could take this little sample to top up with when I’m wearing that one to work! Tbh Ego is stronger for sure, vanilla orchid has a decent amount of throw for a white tea perfume…. They’re normally extremely intimate but this one creates a sweet, fragrant bubble around me!

Re comparisons I have CK In2U and that is very citrusy and woody…. Almost piney, and quite unisex. I don’t smell much resemblance over all. I wouldn’t have made a link between this and Crystal Noir either. CN is sharper, soapier and a bit more screechy than Vanilla Orchid. I think this is an easier reach than either of those! There is a hint of the OG but it is more of a distant relative than most of the other flankers imho - apart from Wild Rose, which I didn’t enjoy as it’s was very fruity! Vanilla Orchid is the most feminine of the bunch too.

Ps, it’s got vanilla but as someone who is mega fussy about vanilla in perfumes, it isn’t overwhelming, sickly or too perfumey.

I have a 2ml sample. I used initially half but it is so weak on me, barely could smell anything.I added some extra and it's strong-ish when first sprayed, can smell the lemon, then really settles down and it's very subtle. Nice but weak. Pleasant if you want a touch of smell not too overpowering. Someone else said for bed time, and I agree, not a suffocating perfume, warm, calm, kinda attractive "bed time smell" :-) Not good enough for me to buy a full bottle though.

Rachelle spier

This is a great gym fragrance in my opinion. To me it smells clean & fresh with a feminine touch. Not too sweet which is perfect for the gym/workout. I smell the white tea, citrus and then a light feminine touch which I guess is the vanilla & orchid although those two notes aren’t super distinctive to me. I really like this for a clean girl not over powering scent!! Would also be nice for bedtime.

frangiris

Absolutely amazing. Smells natural and refined; when it starts out it's a bit too much like shower gel, but after a while it turns into a lovely tea and vanilla balance. Not sweet, but fresh. I have scents for similar occasions, but it's a good one for the price point.

This was one of the flankers that I tried the day before my birthday. I went back to try the Elizabeth Arden White Tea line, to see if I preferred the original - or the other flankers. So far, I prefer the original blend the absolute best. That one is really hard to compete with. This, I tried on the other arm - it was much softer and I preferred the original, then the Wild Rose blend.

This line is growing on me, I really like the more natural perfumes after wearing Calvin Klein's Beauty perfume awhile and seeing what response I was having from wearing that one. These start stronger the first hour, then if you are the type that likes any strength whatsoever - you will want to respray/spritz/roll... whatever - after the first hour or so.

I love the general concept of this line, I just wish that it had more silage and lasted longer -
This turns into a skin scent where you can barely detect that you have sprayed it, unless smelling directly on the skin.

Yessamin

An opulent, alluring floral that brings you to a place of serenity. Vanilla infused with lemon and quince.

this one starts with quince, tea, orchid and vanilla. it remains mostly a quince and tea perfume on my skin. i don't get much of the deeper notes except a hint of orchid and vanilla. i am surprised quince isn't higher on the list, as it is very prominent on my skin. this one is interesting but like the other white tea scents, a bit sharp and headache inducing for me.

bdragonfly12345

@aldi_mccartney: No, I don't think so. It's pleasant enough, but sits very close to the skin (no sillage), even from initial spray. It also doesn't smell that much different from the others in the line to make it worth hunting down/paying huge money for.

aldi_mccartney

Hi dears, is it worth the hunting? Is it different enough? I'm in Argentina and I can't find it anywhere.

kiwikate

For me, this was a pleasant surprise of the set. White Tea Vanilla is quite strong stand alone. While mandarin and rose are very obviously White Tea's little sister. The vanilla seems more like a distant cousin, as the vanilla really sets it apart.

I found the vanilla a very interesting scent. I have't had many perfumes that don't pair vanilla with wood or musk, and the end result is nearly always a warm and comforting perfume. However, White Tea Vanilla remains true to the clean scent I feel White Teas are known for, but has a really lovely main note of vanilla, and the clean fresh scent fades into the background.

For me, the dry down is subtle, yet long lasting. It's a fantastic every day fragrance for someone who wants to smell clean and sweet without overpowering (looking at you Alien). Fair price point, and probably one of favourite vanillas so far. However that may just be a testement that I'm very bored with vanilla scents in the perfume industry and this one has piqued my interest.

theuntrainednose

I have a bottle, from a giveaway here (thanks SailorV!)

----

A fresh vanilla with a twist. Nothing like any vanilla fragrance I had before. Dry, bitter-ish and fresh.

Reminds me of the way a Rituals store I used to pass by did smell, and I enjoyed that smell. Dry tea leaves, something woody but dry like cedar or dry grass, vague fresh fruit bark, citruses. And a fresh, not sweet vanilla. On my skin the musk is not projecting much, so the other notes shine more.

The vanilla gives it roundness and fluffiness and the global effect, for me, is of serene energy. Very enjoyable and sure to get a place in my rotation to focus on work during summer (I don't have A/C).

---

Does not last too long, around 2 hours projecting plus around 1-2 hours as a veil of light vanilla on my skin.

penguinrabbit

I'm not a fan which surprised me. I enjoy the green tea range by Elizabeth Arden and I also love white tea (as in the drink), I love white tea, vanilla, vanilla orchid and Elizabeth Arden perfumes so I thought this was a safe blind buy. It smells like plastic at first and while after 30 minutes or so it settles down to be a pleasant white floral vanilla there is no white tea that I'm getting. I have better vanilla scents that don't start off smelling like plastic.

MiniMena

Another Amber floral that I love!. Funny, I've been realizing that most of the fragrances that I love are floral amber's and Vanilla amber's. Tonight I dug out my old (almost empty) bottle of this. Mmm. It reminds me of Vanilla Orchid by Floral Street. Just a lovely unsweetened, soft vanilla with a bit of musk in the drydown. Longevity is moderate as is the projection. Just a really beautiful scent!

SailorV

I love vanilla, I love tea and I also like White Tea Vanilla Orchid, but I don't love it. I got a small bottle in a blind swap and I'll pass it on to someone else. It's perfectly fine, just not impressive.

The opening is the best part, it really smells like a freshly brewed tea with lemon and bergamot, with a yummy buttery vanilla note in the background, but still light and refreshing. A good option for wearing vanilla on a hot day.
In the drydown it's less vanillic on my skin and more like a clean white musk. I still clearly smell the tea note, but it's also quite woody. Even though it's not listed I get something like cedar out of this.
The whole scent is rather light and close to the skin, a typical warm weather daytime scent you can wear anywhere when you don't want to stand out.

ViouAmara

This green and light sweetness is in the same vein as Aqua Bella LaRive, which is itself a dupe of Aqua di Gioia. I don’t mean that they are dupes, but they speak the same language. They picture a drop of honeydew on a delightful fresh leaf. They are humble, clear, and absolutely great. Even somehow calming, smiling: they don’t strut out, they have a plebeian kindness. This is the type of scent a could wear everyday in summer. My personal little part of freedom in the early morning.

danygurl06

It smells like they took vanilla orchid and added it to the original White Tea. There is still that annoying island cotton note but it is lighter. As it dries down, the vanilla become more prominent, but with that aquatic cotton note.

To me it smells like a softer cousin of Agent Provocateur Fatale Pink.

FruLuna

I bought the og white tea for my sister about a year ago and always regretted not getting some for myself as well so when I saw a bottle of white tea on sale I snapped it up in an instant. When I got home and sprayed it I was disappointed however and didn't recognise it and it tuned out I'd bought Vanilla Orchid by accident. It's not an awful scent by any means but it's not an absolute love like the original was either.

Fragrance2123

I really like this! It's not a love, but for the summer days it is a definite strong like.
It's 90% similar with the OG White Tea, it has a lot of lemon freshness in the opening and then it mends really nice with musk and a soft, gentle vanilla. As it dries down, the lemon dissipates, leaving behind the musky vanilla, not artificially sweet, but soft and pleasant.
The longevity is pretty poor, but I don't mind since I use it in the summer heat, it really shines in higher temperatures.
It's not offensive at all and it is very pleasant - I'd say this is a very good alternative for people who don't like overly fresh scents for summer or people that don't like their scents too sweet. It's somewhere in the middle and hey, it works!

codymarieb

I blind purchased this as I was looking for a clean, soapy, non-offensive scent.

It doesn’t smell bad, but something about it doesn’t sit right with me and I can’t see myself ever wearing this.

It’s definitely got a note of tea, the vanilla orchid is apparent, and it’s quite light and oriental smelling. Nothing special, nothing sexy, nothing overly enticing.

I’ll be regifting.

Lyndii

This perfume takes me back in time to the early days of my romance with my French lover.

Our first night together was in this gorgeous 5-star luxury hotel. The soaps and lotions there were so beautifully scented I fell in love with them so I had to take all of them back home. How I wished I would find perfume matching those.

Couple of days ago I went searching for my new spring perfume and just like by miracle I found this gem. This smells exactly like those luxury soaps. I can't get enough of this.
It's very feminine, warm, comforting scent. I love it.

tori15015

Everyone seems to like the original White Tea more than Vanilla Orchid. However, I'm the exact opposite.
The first time I sprayed this on my skin I knew it would be my signature fragrance. It's exactly what I've been looking for: soft, warm, comforting, feminine. Very delicate. It's hard for me to find fragrances that are simultaneously warm, light, and soft—most warm and comforting fragrances are heavy and cloying. I feel like this scent matches my essence perfectly. I don't see anyone being offended by this fragrance—it is too calming and soft. I am prone to migraines and this does not bother me. I kept going back to very fruity, sweet, and gourmand fragrances. I wondered why I was never satisfied in the long run with them. Sure they smell good, but I don't feel like myself when I wear them. I feel like myself when I wear this fragrance, or like the fragrance just IS me. I did not need a complex and intricate signature scent. I just wanted something that smells soft, light, and warm. I don't want to stand out, I want to feel comforted and for the people around me to feel comforted too.
I tried the original White Tea and I did not like it at all; it was too harsh, cool, sharp, and smelt like alcohol and chemicals on my skin. Almost masculine. Vanilla Orchid is the opposite in my opinion. I'd recommend to spray the White Tea line on your skin and not to judge it from spritzes on paper—each scent from the line is completely different on the skin.

Side note: for some reason this scent—on my skin—reminds me of Tom Ford's Soleil Blanc...

dglightblue

Summer test, t shirt weather, showery day.

Fresh, green/plant stems, vanilla not the sweet edible kind, has a smidge of sweetness in back up, florals are fresh, dewy, non specific.

This isnt a loud scent, quite nice, it lasts severalhours, heasy to wear, to gift.

raiza1990

This is very pleasant. Comforting, not overly sweet, very good longevity. It’s not so unique for me to buy it but i would gladly accept it as a gift. This is the kind of fragrance you fall in love at the first sniff. I think it’s my favorite from this line. I tested it multiple times and i keep coming back to it. it’s specially nice in these cold winter days. I only wish the opening lasted a bit longer, it’s so pretty!
I imagine a peaceful and warm-hearted woman wearing it.
final note: 8,5/10

EmmaKirstine

This is just lovely, and a crowdpleaser. No one would be offended by this one. At first spray this is a fresh tea-scent. And then the varm vanilla kicks in.

But I'm a bit disappointed. After two hours, I have to stick my nose into my skin to detect any fragrance, and by that time, only a faint vanilla lingers around, but only as a skin-scent.

I bought this in a 30 ml size, so the cost was minimal. I liked the scent, but for the performance, I would not repurchase.

winter.night.traveller

Like others, I actually really love EA White Tea... it's my go-to safe-and-likeable work scent and it's also what I spray when I want to feel 'me' and put-together and quietly in control and subtly sensible kickarse librarian-like (I actually am a librarian, but I am rarely subtle, not too sensible and hardly ever feel like a badass librarian) . Long story short, I could write an ode to White Tea.

I ran out of it a while ago (I have a big bottle winging its way to me as we speak) and decided to grab some samples of this in my White Tea drought.

I kind of regret it. On paper it should be magnificent. I love White Tea. I like lemon, bergamot, lots of other notes I hardly object to, lots of stuff that's classic EA White Tea, and I adore vanilla, vanilla is my one true love, my Achille's heel, slayer of budgets, destroyer of purse strings. What's not to like?

But this...it's not great, to be honest. It's not horrible, not nostril-hair singeing, but I'm glad that I waited (and I was chomping at the bit) until I could get a sample rather than buying a bottle of this, and I'm glad I'm restocking my trusted old White Tea rather than stuck with an impulse buy of this. It's just... inoffensive but not good. There's White Tea there, but it's fighting tooth and nail with the vanilla. They just don't go together. It's crisp and clean vs. sweet vanilla and it just doesn't gel, it clashes. It almost bothers me (and I'm someone who loves stuff like salt + vanilla, salt + caramel, smoke with everything, I like the odd potentially acquired-taste contrasting smell). It just does not work, it's not -horrible, bad-bad - but there's something about it that just doesn't work, at least, for me.

Given my love of White Tea, I'm so disappointed with this'un. I don't think my sample will ever get used up once my bottle of White Tea turns up.

And I think part of it is...I love White Tea. It's not expensive, ground-breaking high art, but it's wonderful for what it is, it's a great daily no-fuss lovely work-safe fragrance, it does what it does and it does it well and it's very clean and smart and happy as is. I don't really think it needed anything added to it. Let alone something that fights with it as much as this vanilla does. And I say that as a vanilla fiend.

Verdict: Not awful, but not good - I think I'll stick with White Tea.

Hummingbirder

Someone got a punch bowl and filled it with tea, lemon-lime soda, white flowers, marshmallows and orange sherbet.

This is a gourmand white floral with an effervescent opening that slowly fizzles in the dry down. It's a happy, charming, inoffensive little fragrance with little sillage and four to six hours lasting power. Jasmine and orangey - not orange blossom, it's cheerful and uplifting to wear.

It's lack of pretension is its note of sophistication. It is very sweet and feminine; I would not try this if I was a man. Lovers of leather, chypre, incense, and musk look elsewhere. There are, thank goodness, no berry notes. It's more like Anais Anais had a tryst with an orange monger in a tea shop. Very nice for everyday wear. A signature fragrance? No. Definitely a safe gift fragrance, as it could be worn with many other fragrances. Also nice to spray on linens. Or your Aunt Beatrice.

Auragin

I have not tried the original, however, I do like this! It is perfect for Spring days, and I have received many compliments. Out of the last few perfumes I have tried (La Vie Est Belle, Angel, Miss Dior), this is a close tie with La Vie Est Belle en Rose as my favorite daytime perfume. It is much weaker than the ones I listed, but I do adore the notes, as they unfold from sweet to fresh green to musky. I wish it were stronger, but I will continue to wear it daily through Spring and Summer.

Mbrock

I love the original. Its actually one of the few I rebuy when I am out. These flankers though, They are terrible. This one just smells weird, like a child mixed it. Its white tea with a few drops of gourmand elements & it doesnt blend or go together at all. It actually made me gag a little. Its also has terrible longevity & sillage.

SillySue

I love the original and waited for this edition with excitement. Today I saw it was already in stores here where I live so ofcourse I ran to the counter and spritzed away. In short this was a let down. I could hardly smell it and the vanilla was nowhere to be found to my nose. Idk, maybe I’m anosmic to it. It was very very weak. I will stick with the original.
