Classic Blue by David Beckham is a Woody Chypre fragrance for men. Classic Blue was launched in 2014. Classic Blue was created by Jean-Christophe Hérault and Aurélien Guichard. Top notes are Pineapple, Violet Leaf and Grapefruit; middle notes are Apple, Clary Sage and Geranium; base notes are Cashmere Wood, Moss and Patchouli.

David Beckham unveiled the Classic fragrance in 2013, dedicated to men of style. In the summer of 2014, He launches its new flanker called Classic Blue, inspired by the classic style and elegance combined with modern details. David announces it as a modern interpretation of timeless, classic scents.

Jean-Christophe Herault created this edition. The composition is bolder than the original, starting with fresh accords of pineapple, grapefruit and violet leaf. The heart consists of geranium, clary sage and apple, laid on the dense woody base of cashmere, patchouli and moss.

The fragrance is available as of August of 2014 as 40 and 60 ml Eau de Toilette with an accompanying collection.

Un perfume para el calor, fresco, limpio pero con poca duracion

GV999

Best of Beckham line. Summer freshie. You will have to overspray in order to get a decent performance ( at least 15 sprays ). 7/10 It is decent, but it is wiser to get 2 bottles of nautica voyage for that money.

Tolsson

Dang good

Spyre

Red fruits and ozone. Smells fine, it projects surprisingly well... for 30 minutes, the longevity is hilariously bad after that. I can't even smell the skin scent after three hours.

Def has use cases.

sweet piglet of smoke

My first ever celebrity fragrance, bought with considerable trepidation. Needn't have worried. Could be YSL's L'Homme Libre, only spicier and for twenty five dollars instead of two hundred and fifty. Lasts just as long, smells just as good.

dabatch

fresher YSL Y for 8euro.

Shiron212

One of my friends at uni wears a scent that's very familiar to me, so I asked him: "Are you wearing Invictus Legend?" and he said it was this, I was very surprised about that.
Fruity-salty aquatic scent with a little bit of a bubblegum smell, also pretty good performance coming off of him, not a beast but I can definitely smell it if I stand next to him.
Need to test it for myself, but so far I think this can be a really good alternative to Invictus Legend on a budget.

~steve.w~

Fresh and clean smelling, relatively inexpensive so I use it accordingly. Overspraying is the order of the day. It's a goodun' .

There are days when I am doing nothing but sitting in on my own and I want to smell nice without using one of my more expensive fragrances. David Beckham Classic Blue is perfect for such an occasion. I found this bottle after it had sat in a cupboard. The bottle was open and had been used prior to years of it sitting there before i got back in to collecting again, and you know what? It actually smells fantastic for the price.

Even if you do get a visit from someone, they are not going to think you smell cheap or nasty.

Sure you maybe won't get huge longevity but for a cheapie like this it's not an issue, because if you are sat at home the bottle is right there for a fresh spray whenever you need it. I am actually getting good projection from Classic Blue. It could be all that time it sat in that cupboard that made the difference, as i can't remember what it smelled like new. Maybe it comes like this out of the box. I will say this, though, I have paid more for designer fragrances that perform worse than this.

Nice fresh fruity smell which imo is pleasant.

market$$

Longevity is about 5 hours, and projection is only good for 30 mins. If you can find it under 15$, get it, overspray the everliving crap out of it, und genießen.

Criglett Clussnum

I get a slight YSL Y vibe when first sprayed. It is also on the simple side like Nautica Blue. I get about 4-5 hours longevity and that was just on skin and within arms length sillage. This is a nice one to have for under $15! This is a nice classic Blue fragrance like the name and it is great for places like the gym and warmer weather. I would say all ages could wear this!

togs

Pleasant smell, however it is very weak and the smell is gone within an hour. That's what you get when you buy some cheap fragrances.

liamfrag

Thia cologne serves as my first review and 2nd in my small collection as a teenager. !This cologne serves a great value smelling great while being extremely well priced. The projection isn’t very long, but the smell sticks to clothes for very long periods when applied to a shirt or so. For being as inexpensive as it is i’m please with it and consider it a good cologne for spring, summer, and gym.

The smell isn’t too heavy but is nice, fruity, and fresh. Heavily suggest especially if you don’t have lots to spend on something more expensive.

Enotche

I like it, fresh , clean and cheap. What more can you want? It lasts a lot on me and for that price its really worth it!

obsidianknighthawk

Got this as a gift. Inoffensive scent.

Orodreth

Nothing new. Nothing wow. Just a fresh, clean smelling fragrance. I spray it before work because I know it won't offend anyone.

tadisniffs

Surprisingly very fresh top notes, the middle notes are blander, but it has a nice, inoffensive dry down perfect for the beach.

Scent: 7/10

Overall: 7/10

blind bought this very cheaply for my fiance. When he sprayed it on himself I instantely regretted the buy tbh. It smells basic and dreadful. It smells like those cheap off-brand perfumes. I dont understand why a big and famous soccer player would make perfumes like this. I bought this because I generally like celebrity perfumes, however this taught me to never buy David Backham perfumes. Although my fiance did not tell it straight to my face, I just knew from his facial expression that he disliked it as well. If I could rank it, I would rank 1/10.

Monsieur Fresh

An inoffensive, generic and frankly bland blue fragrance. I would describe it as a fresh and slightly fruity scent, most wearable in the office or at college/school. As is to be expected of a fragrance in this price bracket, David Beckham Classic Blue is rather one-sided and doesn't have any major merits in its own right. Sillage is weak to moderate, whilst longevity is poor. The fragrance itself smells as it does out of the box – what you see (or smell) is very much what you get.

That being said, it doesn't pretend to offer an otherworldly olfactory experience. Provided you apply this fragrance generously, you will still get decent performance out of it – and for just a few dollars/euros, you can't really go wrong. I just wish it had a little more depth.

Overall: 5.5/10
Generic, but cheap and versatile.

MeeZoo

I blind bought it and it turned to be a good buy, it's pleasent non-offensive safe for office and great for grab and go. I have many perfumes like this one and I gave it to my child but when he wears he smells amazing, so I am thinking to take it back 😂😂😂😂
I recommend the fragrance to anyone who is looking for a good smell good performance low price perfume.

Zyzzyx

Fresh, summery, fruity (pineapple, citrus, watermelon) with soapy dry down. Probably one of the better David Beckham ones I’ve tried. Not great but it’s cheap.

trooperopieshelby

Very similar to Chrome Legend. A fruity musk that smells dated. This would pair well with a members only jacket and some velcro mall walkers. On the bright side it's cheap and lasts way too long.

nicksmith.syd

Fresh, aquatic and fruity with some definite sweetness and even some warmth in the background. Decent performance and great value for its extremely cheap price range. Highly recommended as a cheap dumb reach for Summer.

algekalipso

This is a very erotic "boy next door" and "hot male athlete right after practice" type of smell. If there is such a thing as a "gay fragrance" in the sense of being hot to have gay sex while wearing it, I'd sat this is one of the best ones in that category (I'm actually serious, it's a compliment).

MartinFord

Holy moly. Ropion's inspiration for YSL Y line is this? Why no one ever mentioned it? I blind bought it because I saw who the noses were and I can't believe that this is Y's father. You'll noticed it mostly in the mid/dry-down. Also check the notes' similarity. GJ guys.

Performance is not bad.

KHayes2350

Feels more masculine then Nautica Voyage it doesn't perform as well as Voyage. Overall a nice blue clean fragrance it does exactly what it says it does and makes you smell like a classic "blue" fragrance. Great value too 90ml for $10 bucks to smell good when running errands

Adamzes

It's a very classic, manly and office smell. Fresh, little icy, some citrus in it. Best to use for work. Not lasting long.

Oakfield

David Beckham (DB) Classic Blue (DBCB) is a Nice fresh fruity masculine scent. It is not gourmand in any way - it is a summer fresh like fragrance.
I have a few DB scents - Homme David Beckham (DBH), Beyond Forever (DBBF) and Pure Instinct - the latter is a sweeter take than the two beforementioned, but I like them all.
DBCB is one of the best of the DB scents I have, and is like DBH and DBBF actually worth a blind grab for all men. A no brainer scent that offend nobody but refreshes.
Blind buy this - you will not regret.
An all day office scent for me.
Thumbs up Jean-Christophe Herault and Aurelien Guichard.

PS- Like most DB scents longivity could have been better - but this is still one of DB`s more moderate to long lasting scents.

naji_ali

This very nice smell , I like it very much.
it is different than any other blue/summer perfume.
and nothing can beat 10$ price for this perfume.
It reminds me of Hugo Boss Elements Aqua, and far like Dior Sauvage
It lasts fair time about 4-8 Hours

I will definitely buy it again in the future.

Ryla

I now know why it smells so darn familiar.

This is Head and Shoulders Anti Dandruff Shampoo for Men, perfume version.

cell

Very familiar smell. At first, I couldn't pinpoint it but later was able to by looking at the notes which has similarities with BBW Whitewater Rush. Which also shares the same DNA with Mont Blanc Legend/Fierce/Apollo. They all share the same vibe.

Good for hot weather but doubtful about longevity.

Good buy if you're on the lookout for a Legend/Fierce clone but steer clear if you're not into that smell or don't want repetition.

Blind-bought this and paid around 9 USD which I consider a good deal even though I feel that it's a waste since I don't like repeating purchases. I like to try different frags.

Oh well.

DaedalusX

Isn’t it weird when you could swear that a scent smells very similar to another but when you check the pyramids main notes they have nothing in common. To my nose this is a dead ringer for the now hard to find Curve, but add a little more blue notes. For a cheapie this destroys some other more well known ones such as some nautilus flankers. 7/10 for me. Slightly above average. It’s very clean and inoffensive.

Update: After using up this bottle a month ago, I find myself missing it. I’m going to bump my score up from 7 to 8/10. I love stuff with pineapple in it and this cologne hits all the right notes for me. I’m going to pick up another bottle this week. Only minor complaint is that this is one of those bottles that only comes in a 90ml format, which is fine considering it’s only 15$.

monkey500

David Beckham's Classic Blue does what it says on the bottle - it really does smell 'blue' - fresh and ozonic, with juicy pineapple and grapefruit notes.

Once these opening notes fade after 30 minutes this fragrance becomes very leafy green-forward but nonetheless pleasant with only a hint of grapefruit and lots of moss 'at the back of the room' that reminds me of a fresher version of Ralph Lauren's Polo Green from back in the day. The only drawback is a very astringent smelling opening 5 minutes.

TL;DR - opens up watery and fruity; main fragrance is very green; lacks stamina.

Eeeehshure

The name describes this so well: Classic Blue. Fresh, fruity, classy summer scent. Really, scent wise, this is the perfect summer scent. When i first smelled it, it blew my mind, this is way better than Light Blue, Aqua di Gio, or whatever fresh scent you through at it. If only it had better performance; it projects well only for 30min - 1 hour, then it unnoticeable for 1 or 2 more hours and than it's gone. Such a shame

PierreLouis

I really like the opening, but really dislike the drydown. Long lasting drydown so thumb down for me.

smell_mapper

Impression: A watery body with a fruity fragrance. Warming nose-feel almost prickly, astringent in the early stage. Syrupy sweet that mellows and settles - astringency calms. Superficial woodiness, not structured. Aroma sits on top, not finding depth. Pleasing.

Eyedean

In my opinion this one is quite good. Yes, it is inexpensive. Yes, it is a celeb frag. Yes, you can replace it with tons of others out there. And ,yes... DB is not really famous for frags with good longevity. BUT, the dry down of this I surprisingly warm and woody! And it actually projects for around 3-4 hours and then hangs around like a warm and mild scent for another 2-3. I am surprised and I like this one! Give it a try.

Metolord

I couldn’t understand why should this fragrance be in classic category ? It smells so sportive and simple formula and not easy to remember....
چرا در رده کلاسیک ها این عطر رو جا دادن نمی دونم اما به نظر من اسپورت و ساده هست و فرمول خاص و به یاد ماندنی ای نداره... بدرود

missk

Classic Blue by David Beckham is a fragrance my partner has worn since we first met. It's a nice, summery addition to his scent wardrobe as it wears very crisp and clean on his skin.

The most dominant accords to my nose are pineapple, green apple, clary sage, musk and oakmoss. Classic Blue is slightly sweet in the top and heart where the pineapple and apple feature most prominently. The perfumer however has kept it masculine by adding a heavy, herbaceous dose of clary sage.

Classic Blue isn't my partner's favourite fragrance, but when it comes to Summer, it's my favourite scent on him. He also occasionally wears this fragrance as a bed-time scent following his evening shower.

I have a lot of respect for David Beckham as a fragrance house. I actually think he does great, wearable scents for a very appealing price. They are almost always a safe choice for an inexpensive gift.

Classic Blue is not an overly strong scent, in fact its projection is rather minimal. The longevity however is quite impressive, lasting a decent five to six hours on both mine and my partner's skin.

JonesyBrum

I used to love Boss Elements Aqua with it's lovely long lasting woody, fresh aromatic blend of pineapple, mint, lav/violet summer aroma. So I was pleased to realise that the familiar smell of 'Classic Blue' (which I couldn't place immediately for the 1st couple of wears) came pretty close to that of Elements Aqua, especially as it's been discontinued for a while now & so I haven't any for a while. This will do nicely, unless Hugo Boss decide to reintroduce EA !

Gazza97

A friend gave this one to me. Was pleasantly surprised actually. You get a fruity/aquatic casual vibe from it and it comes off very likeable. It's nothing spectacular and obviously there will be some people on here who will bash it but for the money it's definitely something worth trying.

threefourfive

Very nice, I think I like it so much cause it's very similar to Versace Man Eau Fraiche! Fresh and clean casual frag, also kinda reminds me of Polo Blue. Not very long lasting but still very good and my favorite Beckham frag!

msajoy

opens up like azzaro chrome legend minus the strong metallic tone, then goes towards joop jump plus playboy newyork drydown.im guessing fierce clone but what a great long lasting fragrance for the summers at great price, but why 90ml?that stinginess was not needed ;) 8/10 for me...very impressed

Steppero

This has become my goto casual frag for all occassions. I normally try and avoid celeb frags, but this is nice. It smells a bit like nautica voyage but not as sweet and a lot more masculine. If you want something simple, smells nice and lingers, This is for you. For $15 grab it.

fiftycents2003

It smells similar to Bentley Azure, just a bit stronger.

Houdini4

This is a fine, fresh aquatic fragrance very much in the mould of the Nautica Voyage and Versace Man Eau fraiche etc...
Blue goes on with a heavenly opening which being someone who's perfume awakening (so to speak) was during the 90's I can't help but love and reminisce about. The aquatic, violet, citrus and white musk is nothing short of lovely in the opening, with hints of the patch and clary sage grounding it ever so slightly especially as it settles on my skin. The main issue I had was the emergence of a cucumber type note after the first 10 mins or so. Perefectly inkeeping with the fresh feel but also threatening to spoil this juice slightly. Luckily that goes away and this fresh scent plows on regardless into a very long lasting drydown. This is effectively a much better option for many people looking to buy similar scents, for the simple reason, it's better. Great stuff from old golden balls yet again!

SHA-V

one of the best, good longevity and projection, its smells good, musky and fresh, heaps better than nautica voyege, any way try it for couple of times before you buy, use it for summer for the best performance.

Forget Freeman

The majority of the Beckham fragrances tend to punch above their weight in my opinion, this one even more so than the others. I got a 90ml for £12 as well as a shower gel and deo spray kit for £5, for that price this is an absolute steal! Classic Blue has surprising longevity and would be good for various settings too so quite versatile.

I agree with Nitrib, I pick up on the similarities to Bentley's Azure as well.

The best of the "Classic" line IMHO, I like the Classic Summer scent a bit more but pales in comparison with this for longevity.

Good fragrance for warmer weather and really good value for money.

Nice! :)

Nitrib

Reminds Bentley Azure very much, and sharper Legend version by Mont Blanc. Projection not that good, but it's a great cheaper alternative. Overall - fruity, sharp, green, woody scent. Based on modern ingredients.

Deospray:
Ohh, I love this one! It smells familiar, I guess I've smelled perfumes similar to this many times but yet I'm not tired of it. Not sure about the notes but I tend to like fruity and according to the main notes here this one should smell like pineapple. However, I have to say, I don't associate it with pineapple not even now when I know what it should smell like. I find it more spicy than fruity.

I have the deospray here so right now the smell of it makes me calm and gives me a feeling of being welcomed. It's masculine and not harsh.

I think it works for night aswell as day but I'd enjoy it more in the night. There are other perfumes that could work better at day time.

If you're considering buying this for someone, I think you should.

Remark: I liked the deospray more than the edt/edp.

Deospray, update 27/7-17:
I used to like it much more. Now I prefer Signature over this.

shaysbub

This scent is absolutely refreshing. I am a female and wear it on the odd occasion. The amount of compliments I receive from wearing this inexpensive scent is lovely. The scent lasts approximately 7 hours or so on me with it being very faint in the end. This scent though reminds me of a cleaner and much more long lasting version of male deodorant.

kaju23

Very nice scent, pineapple mixed with violet for me. Stays really close to skin and has moderate longevity. I would say it's the best from Beckham fragrances.

RobbieX

This is a less fruity and sharper version of Essence by Beckham. Lasts a while and is quite nice.

kikiwendra

I got this juice as a gift from my best friend in the UK (..thanks Julia Presly..). This is one of my favorite scent.. spray begins to smell violet.. it's definitely not feminine, but bold, dynamic and sturdy, .. two minutes, and the smell of fresh-wood appeared. 'The story' is ends with a brief cashmere, patchouli moss. I think this juice is 'smiley' version of Hugo Boss Bottled Night.

groover

It does smell good, not great, a little bit
like anything else these days, therefore i can not
say it is special, but great value for the Money.
And yes i could still smell it faint 12 hours later,
that ain't bad.

Coffee King

Easily the best fragrance under the Beckham brand, this is gorgeous, wonderful opening, grapefruit, lemon and what I thought was pineapple. The drydown is woody and loosely floral, lasted well and had a few complements, all in all I'd say I love it.
The longevity is amazing, 7 hours later and it still smells as good, the violet leaves have developed well, gorgeous!!
