La Tulipe by Byredo is a Floral fragrance for women. La Tulipe was launched in 2010. La Tulipe was created by Jérôme Epinette and Ben Gorham. Top notes are Freesia, Cyclamen and Rhuburb; middle note is pink tulip; base notes are Green Notes, Vetyver and Woodsy Notes.

La Tulipe was presented in 2010 as a fresh and clean floral fragrance with top notes of rhubarb, cyclamen and freesia. A heart incorporates floral notes of tulip, while a base finishes with greenery, blond wood and vetiver. The fragrance can be purchased as 100ml edp.

La Tulipe is built around the idea of the tulip - a flower reminiscent of morning moist gardens and by being one of the season's first flowers to open its bud; the tulip has become a symbol for the rebirth of spring.

"I have always loved tulips and decided to create a fragrance that spoke of the whole idea of the flower.  To do this I wanted to capture its shy characteristic - and combine that with the expressive physicality it bears."  – Ben Gorham

pretty, light, fresh green floral. It is like walking into your favorite florist shop and picking up a gorgeous pink and white bouquet breathing in the flowers - stems and all. Close to the skin and doesnt last too too long so must be re-sprayed. Not inexpensive but if you at looking for something to take you from spring to summer this one is it!

ReneaC

The initial spray is similar to Jo Malone’s Wild bluebell without the persimmon/melon scent while the dry down of this on my skin is kinda similar to Guerlain Insolence edt without being too much powdery or lipsticky. I like this a lot better than Insolence and wild bluebell this has a much youthful clean vibe than the two others scent

veida

Lovely and clean. Clean, like an expensive cream, not a washing powder. I'm obsessed, I want to feel it all the time

fistdeepinfrosting

smells like an actual bundle of flowers, stems and all. also maybe high end shampoo or something. An easy reach for spring and summer. I love it, but I’m kinda broke so after my sampy samp was up I bought the oil perfumery version and its spot on

Perfume-beginner

I have one 100ml La Tulipe for sale.
Sprayed only 3 times, around 98% full.

Contact me if you wish to buy. Located in Germany

Coronna18

Usually i dont like floral scents, but this is gorgeous. Very unoffensive, office friendly perfume. It smells like hair shampoo.
Projection and longevity could be better.

Gilsan

Beautiful floral. Smells so good on other people! But for me it gives me a headache and affects my asthma. So if you are like me I would go with Mojave ghost instead.

rosebush340

Smells very similar to Eclat Arpege to my nose. Except the drydown which is almost the same as Blanche.

kpop_stan

This one was a pleasant surprise! I actually wanted to test Rose of No Man's Land but the bottle was empty, so I sniffed around what else the store had (not a Byredo boutique unfortunately so selection was limited), liked this and gave it a spritz. Didn't know anything about it other than, obviously, tulip, and going in blind I interpreted this as citrusy, floral and clean, almost aldehyde-like but not quite. More "clean linens" than "soap". This smells how I wanted/expected Bal d'Afrique to smell!

This is a LOVE, but I won't be running out to buy it as I already have Sundazed and while they're very different perfumes they sort of fill the same role as a citrussy uplifting spring/summer scent. I like Sundazed a lot more, but I wouldn't be surprised if I grow tired of it by the time I finish the bottle, so I anticipate myself hopping over to this one for a change of pace. :)

AnastasiaGostieva

I can feel lots of different flowers (such as mimosa, hyacinth and lilac). They give a very fresh (and quite powdery) floral vibe which easily can be somewhat kind of tulip scent for sure. Ultimately it’s a nice green floral and even slightly aquatic perfume.

Ariete76

Wonderful scent I will NEVER get tired of saying it! A fresh ethereal herbaceous floral, pure spring! When I wear it it evokes a fresh garden of soft green country flowers, the rhubarb binds very well with the essence of the pink tulip, and seems to dance with the other fresh flowers such as freesia and cyclamen, I actually don't feel the base notes minimally, to my nose it always manages to emanate a riot of green floral freshness and I must say that I love it for this too! If we really want to find a sore point it is the very low duration for me, in reality almost all the Byredo perfumes that I own unfortunately lack longevity, but for this perfume I can even turn a blind eye!

Correction:
Using it constantly I can't tell you if it's due to awareness or hormonal changes etc. the longevity of this wonderful perfume has changed, it really lasts a long time on my skin, I can smell it for most of the day, it is certainly not a longevity bomb but much more than what I mentioned in the first description, for me never without it again!

toosimilar

@SaraZigova is right: there might be some changes to the formula or ingredients
When I once tried it in the store before - it was a hyperrealistic scent of a tulip (pollen)
Now it's something harsh and green, totally not what i remember about this perfume

violeteme

Straight up tulip. I can instantly see the red ones with the black middle, opened up and yellow thick pollen visible. Not a fan of tulip scent, so, hard pass.

Cherry Bloom

This is how I expected the overhyped Chance Eau Tendre would smell like. That one has smth disturbing for me but this...oh, my my .. initially, I perceive it so powdery, i said "no" and passed over. However, in about a quater of an hour it turns into the most beautiful, delicate, pure floral perfume. It looks like it's so hard to create a simple, pure floral. But La Tulipe made it. A masterpiece in its simplicity. Such a pity it flees from my wrist 2/3 hours later...

janiefmc

This has that same watery green dew drop note (that I think some people pick up as cucumber) as Jo Malone's Wild Bluebell and about the same longevity (which is to say not much). It's slightly more floral, slightly less fruity, and overall a refreshing dewy sweet option that's just... nice. Gentle, quiet, feminine, springy, and fleeting.

Hagrid563

This is so soft and feminine! I'm not usually a fan of green florals, but the way it's balanced with the gentle tulip is lovely. It also smells super similar to a Korean body mist called So Hee: On Hope. Gorgeous for Spring and defo can be worn all year round.

alittlenutmeg

My absolute favorite scent. It's just soooo pretty. Classy and feminine. It's a floral, but without having any of the overwhelming, floral sharpness. It's just very fresh and clean and soft. Definitely smells like laundry/clean linen. I will always have to repurchase it.

Ground hound

Laundry-clean, office-friendly, green and floral, slightly sweet, not bitter/watery, but not too sweet either, (not a gourmand situation at all).
Something from the universe of Cow by Zoologist, Blanche by Byredo, Drop d`Issey by Issey Miyake (yes, this is not lilac but the same ~floral laundry~ profile).
As mentioned by others not sure what kind of "soft spices" are mentioned, coz it`s a clean green scent with no spices whatsoever.
Safe, floral, laundry-like, green, mostly linear, quite minimalistic.
I either love or hate Byredo`s perfumes but this one is really a crowd pleaser. I cannot find any faults with this.

spaceybailey

I love this one. It's feminine, fresh, clean and very COZY. Not a warm perfume but it makes you feel some type of way. Very comforting I would say. If you like BLANCHE but you find it too powdery, try this one. This is Blanche's BABY sis. She's sweet and just as beautiful. It smells like, fresh strawberries, candied tulips, aloe juice and "just cut" fresh WOOD. An everyday, signature worthy, type of perfume. Perfect for cold weather, day to night. BISOUS

Flizz

I get a lot of cucumber(!) and yes, a really authentic note of tulip garden on a rainy day. Unprovocative, fresh, feminine. Would suit a mother figure or a young, introvert lady with a close connection to nature or gardening. I believe there a a few more priceworthy dupes. I'm thinking of a deodorant i had from Dove with the scent "cucumber".

Duckling

The type of scent that’s commonly used in generic supermarket/drugstore face creams. Cool and dewy, fresh and clean, but utterly forgettable.

jmichelleruggieri

Confused why "soft spicy" is here.... This a total floral + green. I ADORE it!

Tabi_Cat

Love this perfume! Feminine, floral and green. Smells like the whole tulip from the stem to the petals in the nicest way and has a uniqueness to it. It doesn’t have much lasting power but stronger than other byredo scents. I could smell it on my from time to time but only faintly. Too expensive to be worth it but gorgeous smell.

thaochipnd

I love it! The Tulip scent is fresh, elegant and extremely pleasant. Tulips sway in the gentle breeze, and the clear night dew reflects on the petals, recalling memories of romantic suburbs. It's like I'm lying on a hill of Tulip flowers with green grass in the Netherlands, so peaceful. If you are a luxury and elegant girl, definitely don't miss this wonderful fragrance. The scent ups my mood every morning.

Rating: 9/10, my most favorite elegant perfume

karlovonamesti

In 2003, Bond No 9 released Chelsea Flowers, which was seemingly a spin on Tommy Girl, where the florals were amplified, and the blackcurrant eliminated. Laurent Le Guernec opted to render these florals as if you had stuck your nose in a grocery store bouquet, dewey, wet, ambiguously sweet, unambiguously bitter-green and stemmy. La Tulipe fine-tunes this approach, lending it some focus by overlaying the central vegetal greenness with an immensely powdery-floral musk. The result is breathtaking, a much more successful direction to take this nondescript floral idea, and something I truly admire. Occasionally, it makes me think of Jacomo's long-forgotten Silences.

billiedenise

I recently ordered a ton of decants from Byredo to explore the brand's different fragrances. This is the first one I sampled from them. It's smells like Spring: green, light, clean, fresh and a little sweet floral. When you breathe it in and close your eyes you can see a tulip, surrounded by green, covered in raindrops from a morning spring rain shower. A wonderfully light, clean scent.

Enrium

Tulips (or at least the ones I've smelled) don't have a scent, and La Tulipe is an impression of what a tulip would smell like. The resulting scent is a clean, minimal, realistic floral scent with a green undertone. It is a dewy floral, the waxiness of the petals evident.

LT opens with a clean, light white floral accord, initially most reminiscent of a very muted, polite tuberose (far from the true nature of that actual flower!). It quickly develops to reveal a sweet, slightly aquatic freesia note. Freesia feels very dated to me, as it was overused in floral-fruities of the ninetie/noughties. Still, the fresh green undertone complements it nicely and there is a slight tartness thanks to the rhubarb note.

As it develops, the soft woody base emerges, a predictable but pleasant accord that complements the clean, sweet florals nicely. It becomes slightly musky as it fades, the woody florals remaining until final fade. Sillage and longevity are moderate.

A pleasant, polite floral, LT is an understated feminine scent that is ideal for everyday wear. Nothing particularly exciting or unusual, and feels a little dated to me. Still, a decent, good-quality scent overall with a cool source of inspiration. 3/5.

Laviejojo

Simple and pretty.

Julietrenoir

A cheaper dupe is Fleur de Mimosa by &otherstories!! They are so similar and they are both created by Jérôme Epinette.

I love La Tulipe: it's simple, not too complex, just pure, essential and fresh. Makes me think about spring, a green field. Easy vibe!

ava96

This is like a much lighter and floral version of Blanche by Byredo which I hate. This one is okay because it is not so intense, but it smells exactly like washing powder or fabric softener.

sakrosankt

If the top notes would stay the whole day and project like the first hour, I wouldn't need any other perfume. Okay, who am I kidding? Trying out different scents is just too much fun!

But! This is such a lovely and imho unique floral perfume, which is difficult to achieve, since florals are such a popular scent profile. It is the painting of a tulip. At least the tulips I know do not smell like this. And still... when you smell it, you picture tulips in full bloom with little rain dropplets on them. But my clothes smell of unremarkable soapy perfume when I take them off in the evening. After 5 years I used over half a bottle and if finances allow it, I'll never be without it

kitkatya

a tulip drenched in springtime morning dew, or even nestled in late winter fresh fallen snow, snipped precisely with shears. it smells like a fresh-clipped stem with sweet blooms that will never wilt, a young tulip somehow eternally kept from age.

i am OBSESSED with this, i am in LOVE with it, it's my ultimate clean scent and everything i want in a fresh floral!! tulips have long been my favorite flower, not for their smell but for some unnameable quality i think this perfume beautifully replicates. i first smelled this in a niche shop in italy and adored it on paper; the saleswoman kindly gifted me a sample vial, and i found that on my skin, it transforms into a fresh spicy beauty the minute it dries, and i fell in deep deep love...

RottigrlNYC

It’s ok. It’s nice but doesn’t last and it doesn’t project . It’s a pretty scent tho. I bought the three 10ml travel size sprays and it’s more than enough. I only wear this in Spring and Summer.
The lady at the supermarket checkout asked me what perfume I’m wearing. I said why? She said so she can be sure never to buy this nasty smelling thing . No accounting for taste. I told her don’t worry, you’ll never be able to afford it.

Riri97

A Beautiful light and freshy clean scent for spring and summer. I will get me a bottle for sure

sandra_101

It really does smell like tulips. Or at least it gives a scent image of them (maybe it's mostly suggestion from the name idk). Like a bouquet where you smell the cut stems and leaves. There's that distinctly Byredo laundry detergent thing going on, too. A clean, woody laundry detergent backbone has been in all the samples I've tried so far in the discovery set.

mirena.1

This fragrance represents the moment when there is still fresh, fluffy snow but the first, spring flowers came up under the ground and bring us the first spring scents.
Love that fragrance! It's clear without being soapy, it's fresh without citruses. It's clear flower scent.

Cherry_Darling

Beautiful fresh green spring tulip. Very "wet", a dewy spring morning in the garden. Really nice and fresh.

gandrasta

Soapy, flower and spice. Love to experience non citrusy fresh of this fragrance. There's an earthy note that gives depth and complexity throughout the dry down. Stays surprisingly longer than expected

bleuetfane

A dew-drenched garden, yes, but not a fresh, morning one. This is a cold, powdery and sharp floral, evocative of a night-time garden, or the smell of a flower shop mixed with the chemical sharpness of a florist’s spray. This is something I imagine Jean Harlow to wear in her silk-and-feathered boudoir in Dinner at Eight. The freesia gives it a bit of a fancy, heavy-scented soap quality, reminiscent of a lily of the valley, not at all like something found in, say, Replica’a Bubble Bath. It can be quite heavy, especially in hot or humid weather, which makes it more of an evening or rainy day perfume. The projection is moderate, and it lasts quite a long time, especially on clothes.

Layering with Jo Malone’s Red Roses balances the powderness with some greenery, making it a bit lighter and day-time appropriate. Heavenly.

NiNhi

this is stayed on my skin longer than the Bal D'afrique even I love that one more than this.
This is a simply lovely floral scent. Very uplifting, fresh and sweet. People around will adore you with this scent.
It just not my taste, I prefer woody and spicy floral.
For my liking of green floral fragrance if would choose Miu Miu (yellow cap) over this.

clariella

I've been using a sample of this lovely fragrance for a while now, and I love it. It's very interesting, and long lasting, and the character of the scent changes very much during the day when I wear it.
The opening is fresh, clean and green, a lot of rhubarb and some floral notes (I suppose it's the freesia, tulip and cyclamen, but to me it mostly smells green and generally floral). The dry down is slightly woody with some almost musky undertones, even if musk isn't listed as a note. On my skin it just turns out that way, and it's very pleasant.
Over all I really like this fragrance, and I'll buy a full bottle as soon as I can afford to do so.
It stays somewhat close to the skin, and on me it is very long lasting, I'm talking about 8h +.

Apaolone04

This fragrance is my current obsession! Spring just started where I live, I found it for a good price and I’m really glad I got it. I went to Saks for the first time a month ago, first thing I did was I smell the entire Byredo collection. This one to my surprise stood out, I’m normally a sweet lover. It’s nothing crazy, it was just so realistic and beautiful. I’ve never smelled a tulip but this scent made me believe I had. The longevity is low to moderate like most byredo perfumes but I must say it projects quite nicely. I don’t even have to overspray too much to get a good scent bubble going on, unless 10 sprays is excessive to you.

WhiteFlowerPrincess

This isn't bad, but it reminds me slightly of air freshener. It's very clean, safe and slightly artifical smelling. I wouldn't mind my house or apartment smelling like this, but I certainly wouldn't want to smell like this! I think it's the combination of the freesia and the green noted giving me this impression of the fragrance of a house. I've never particularly liked the smell of freesia. The rhubarb smells quite bitter, too.

In summary, a very average perfume in my opinion. It does have moderate projection and sillage, though.

xxdarkstarxx

If you like clean - like detergent clean fragrances give this one a shot.

In the initial blast I get straight up Palmolive Clean Liquid Dish Soap - you know the green one. After a couple of minutes I can smell the fresh tulips that are placed in a crystal clear vase with cold water & the scent of the bubbles from using Palmolive Clean Liquid Dish Soap. Imagine walking by this vase as the breeze comes in from an open window and you can smell those fresh tulips. It's not a sweet floral scent... it's more on the green floral side of things. This fragrance is super breezy, super fresh, super clean, and on my skin it last and projects beautifully. It is smack down unisex & can be a perfect gym fragrance since it smells like a fresh load of laundry. I love my fresh fragrances with Blanche being my #1 choice but maybe ill purchase a 50ml of this one...still debating since I can't shake off the Palmolive Clean Liquid Dish Soap scent I get with this but I do love to smell squeaky clean sometimes.

AquaBaby5

Very pretty tulip soliflore but on my skin it almost leans baby powder? A little off putting in the sillage but nose to wrist it’s pretty and purely floral.

Violinist

Tulip perfection. I absolutely love this perfume. I understand the thought about a sharp note on the top (rhubarb?), but for me, it’s not off-putting and adds to the complexity, interest and sophistication of the scent. The dry-down is magical—the tulip scent comes through beautifully, and I can’t imagine tulip is an easy floral note to capture, but this one does it. It’s one of the most beautiful floral scents in my collection and perhaps the best I’ve ever smelled. It’s a winner, winner, winner. This perfume makes me feel gorgeous.

anntdangg

I wish the top green note is less sharp. Besides that, clearly a lovely realistic tulip scent. Very feminine.

SaraZigova

I think this perfume has undergone some changes, i don't remember my last bottle being so greeen from the start

ChanelNotes

If you want a cheaper dupe, look no further than the Jo Malone x Zara collab called Boldly Seoul.

I got a decant of this and as soon as I sprayed it, I knew I knew that scent. I kept bothering me until I realized it was Boldly Seoul which is one of my 2 favs from the Jo Malone/Zara collab "Vibrant Cities"

Im very surprised by the absence of violet in the notes because that is the first thing you smell. Truly floral. I love Boldly Seoul so I do like this, I wouldnt mind spraying both together, maybe that would help their longevity because both are pretty poor in the department. The Zara version has a wider sillage and lasts a bit longer than Byredo but not by much.

Annelieva

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! I ordered samples of this and Delina online, and I’m now wearing them on opposite wrists. Wow. This knock’s the socks of Delina! This is a very realistic flower scent. It doesn’t exactly smell like Tulips, but more of a bouquet of different flowers. Not sharp, but soft, clean and creamy. I don’t think it’s grandma-like at all, because grandma smells are more sharp and strong, in my opinion. To me a grandma-perfume is Chanel number 5, Boucheron and so on, because that was what the grannies in the eighties used to wear and reek of. I still remember the feeling of being choked by their perfumes as a child. I’m already in love with Byredos Lil Fleur and Rose of no man’s land so I have to say I’m very impressed by this perfume house! ❤️

Jmalone84

So the burst of fresh green florals is strong for about 10 seconds but then quickly fades to what smells like cardomom to me. I can take it or leave it really. Doesn’t last overly long.

Shui-Xian

This perfume is an instatnt transfer to the flowery shop. Pure, innocent, gentle. The composition smells very natural and captivating - as the flowers we know.

Fresia is dominant but I appriciate a green notes. Rhuburb is fruity and sour a little so the fragrance is not too sweet or cloying. It is not too soapy or powdery either: more like an essence of water drops on blooms...

I really like it. This perfume has a noble standard and doesn't lack an esprit.
It is modest in its simplicity but the scent is truely charming.

Pity about longevity and sillage. Neither is barely moderate.

CarnationCelt

I do like it. I actually really like it. The florals are well-chosen, the mix of notes is pitch-perfect, the overall scent is fresh and pleasant...

...but I just cannot shake the granny vibe. Well, that's not entirely fair - a woman in her mid-forties would also wear this and probably receive some compliments at the next parent-teacher conference. But it's certainly not modern, put it that way. I'm sad to say that it definitely suffers from that symptom common to floral fragrances: dated.

CamillaAre

Smells like a realistic floral, like when you walk into a flower shop. The scent is SO beautiful, my only trouble is the performance - disappears after 4 hours on my skin. It´s not very unique IMO so I don´t think it´s worth the money.
I don´t normally re-apply during the day but this one needs it.
I don´t smell the rhubarb or the woody notes. For me, the dry down leans to musk, bergamot and green, like clean warm sheets in a flower garden heated by the sun. I´m surprised that bergamot or citrus is not listed.

C8

Adore this Byredo La Tulipe, probably the best fragrance I’ve ever tried. Very realistic floral, very classy & high end. Only downside besides the high price is it doesn’t last very long on the skin. Otherwise this could well have become my signature but can’t justify spending this much on one fragrance.

Laurentik

This is a very nostalgic sent. The powdery creamy talc notes reminds me of a mother that has just bathed her baby and still has some of the soap and baby powder on her hands. The tulips come out in the dry down rounding out a fresh and floral inoffensive sent. I really like this one but the sillage is not great for the price point. This is a fragrance that needs to be a little less intimate. You will have to carry a rollerball to reapply throughout the day.

likesleet

soft florals with green note core. wish i got rhubarb

seafoamsky

- Fresh, soapy, clean and pure floral scent
- Reminds me of a sunny, spring day near the garden
- The floral is not overpowering or heavy/thick- rather light and fresh
- Could see this scent working well as a laundry detergent scent? In the best way possible
- within the fresh soapy floral, you also get a hint of powdery-ness
- can see a lot of people in their 20-30s enjoying this perfume
- a perfume I reach for first if I can’t decide what to spray
- longevity could be better! A perfume you would have to carry around or better to have the roll on to retouch up the scent
- overall, a clean floral you can’t go wrong with. Definitely one of my faves from byredo

matildavln

This perfume honestly smells like a dream really nostalgic for some reason. I hardly get any green note on my skin but it definitely becomes more woody in the dry down.
Beautiful floral scent that just as others have stated before me smells like a flower field in the spring. This is also such a clean and elegant fragrance 100% work appropriate and much more refined and less sharp than Blanche is to be honest.
One of my favourites from Byredo.

drinadr

Despite the fact that I enjoy floral fragrances, this was not for me. This perfume has a very strong, almost detergent soapy opening, followed by white freesia and tulip notes. However, the delightful floral scent does not last long and is quickly replaced by a very strong green scent. If you know what I mean, it smells more like a tulip leaf and stem than a tulip flower. Also, the price is far too high.

akoyumi

Smells exactly like Boldly Seoul by ZARA. Thank me later!

mklouise24

I’m not the best at describing perfumes so I apologize in advance for my review. 😅 but for me, the best way I can describe this perfume, is like Marc Jacobs Eau So Fresh and Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely had a baby. At first sniff, it smells like Eau Fresh, and the dry down smells like Lovely.

BerryRose

My very first Byredo purchase was the body wash version of La Tulipe, and every time I used it in the shower I thought to myself "one day..."

La Tulipe is a lovely floral perfume, it would be a very safe buy for someone who wears florals. Tulips themselves have no smell, but as other reviewers have commented, La Tulipe is very photorealistic in that it smells like a mixed bouquet or a flower shop, giving it a nostalgic quality. However, because it's so realistic it doesn't have a lot of character. I own several other green florals that have a very pretty, feminine quality that makes me think of the Royal Ascot or spring garden parties, whereas I can't think of any other way to describe La Tulipe beyond green, verdant, or photorealistic. I don't regret the purchase, and the packaging and bottle are lovely (this brand is well suited to gift giving if you have the budget for it) but it's a very straightforward perfume for the price point.

Kotikina

How underrated is this photorealistic tulip! It brings me back to childhood, when every lady would get a bunch of crispy fresh tulips for 8th of March, and everything smelled like spring. Scent of hope, cleanliness, and optimism.

NellieD

A well-balanced, interesting composition with excellent projection and longevity. The notes in this are not to my taste (all I pick up in the base is ebanol and white musk, two things I don't love), so it's a hard pass for me, but this would be an incredible perfume and well worth the money for someone whose tastes are better aligned with the notes. Fantastic take on femininity with the delicate cyclamen and tulip serving as a sheer veil over the earthier, more grounded, woody base.

baytlailah

The perfume that destroyed my individuality complex, a really lovely green floral. Less the smell of a bouquet of tulips and more the smell of a large, dark hedgemaze if tulips grew on hedges

JennyNoBull

You know that fresh floral smell of springtime that you wish would last all year? This is it, in a bottle. Obviously tulips don't really have a scent, but this fragrance captures the fresh floral and watery green stem. This is not a powdery fragrance, but watery and wet without being aquatic. I also get the feel of dark, fresh, spring earth with first flowers pushing through. I absolutely adore this fragrance. It's a time, a moment, a feeling.

Very popular in Korea, and I can see why; it's really beautifully floral, but the flowers present don't feel too distinct. It makes me nostalgic for some reason, and while I can't rave about it, I think it's a very safe purchase for a feminine friend or if you want a crowd-pleaser.

Violetgoblin

Spicy, rhubarb infused tulips in the garden. Agree with lovebitch246, was truly hoping for a more green, fresh take. I layer it with Highline.

Something reminiscent about it from my childhood. I grew up on a large farm and there were gardens; bountiful gardens with those bizarre black, yellow, green catapillers everywhere. Climbing the towering zinnias. The scent of zucchini growing, the leaves that were rough, nearly stinging. Dusty millers. Reminds me, honestly, of 40 years ago and transversing the garden at age 8. I like this fragrance for spring, just not what I was expecting (I adore Inflorescence) but anything that sparks my memory is appreciated.

Blooming August

Byredo never fails me. One of the best white floral in my collection!

LoveBitch246

Was expecting something more fresh and green. Wish I got all the wonderful notes that some reviews mentioned, but to me this perfume smells like cheap, floral air freshener. A dislike.

Icaruswashere

Not very exciting. It's floral and fresh. Bought it for my mom as she loves a good floral wear. To me it smells very elegant and mature, not a very youthful scent. If you're into deep florals you'll love it! It gives what it promises. If you're looking for new exciting scents, this is not the one.

wisewizard87

its a Johnson and Johnson baby talc powder with dry down of powdery soft rose water, not worth a full bottle for me, sample first!

nateya

The most realistic fresh tulip scent I’ve ever smelled. This is quite literally spring in a bottle. I’m just starting to dabble in florals and this was gifted to me. This isn’t the scent profile I typically go for and I gave it away as a Mother’s Day present and my mother in law absolutely adores it.

Nora Gad

Beautiful flowers, very fresh.
I adore it, but the price is expensive.

laramharam

fresh cut flowers

IvoFrag

Spring has sprung. You are heading to the garden in the middle of the season when flowers have fully bloomed.
La tulipe is spring in a bottle. You get a full blast of white flowers. The headiness of gardenias perhaps, but not listed? Freesia brings some softness to the scent but tulips are undoubtedly the star of the show. Unlike most florals, this one smells incredibly natural and is simply a marvelous and glamorous fragrance.
Genderless by nature. It’s for the gentlemen who look forward to the spring to offer flowers to their beloved. It’s for the ladies who embrace the season, the florist, and the radiant color of flowers.

svckshine

Spray it at 8 am and still smell it at 3 pm in the afternoon. My friend told me that i smell good. My first niche fragrance and it became my signature fragrance. I love it even the price hurts me lmao.

Raluko111

I love florals and this smells just like fresh cut tulips, and reminds me of spring in a cold Eastern European home in the 80's, when the tulips that my mother, who was a French teacher, received from her students, would sit in their vases around our living room. Life in those days was so cold and colorless due to the privations of that existence forced on us by the Russians, a life lacking heating, electricity and even basic food staples like bread or eggs or milk, that the beauty of those tulips and their scent seemed like a magical escape hatch to a better world full of infinite probabilities.

Necano

For me, it smells like a flowery and exotic WC spray. Not my cup of tea.

Chantiniiii

To the person that said this smell’s like Mustela, you’re spot on!!! This smells exactly like the Mustela baby perfume which I’ve always loved, I was looking for a dupe for years and this it!!! I love it honestly

eva.daisy.88

The perfume starts with wonderful flower notes, it really smells like a fresh bunch of tulips - sweet flower notes with a bit of greens on the background.
But this lasts for about 10-15 minutes, and then annoyingly too sweet freesia prevails. At that point I feel like I want to wash it away.

Fragaddict123

A soothing scent that is hard to hate
I believe it might be hard to pull off for some alpha males
And I agree that this one is a bit more feminine than the rest of byredo fragrances
I liked how soft it felt though it wasn’t something special

shadysides

To my nose, this smells nearly identical to Mustela’s body wash for babies—which I use and love. I’ve purchased their fragrance recently which I suspect might be a dupe for this. Overall this is lovely and I’ll want a full bottle if the Mustela fragrance doesn’t work out for me.

michaeld2986

As a guy, I love wearing La Tulipe and I'm not ashamed to say I own a full bottle. I like to layer it with leather or green fragrances. The secret when applying this fragrance is 'less is more' - no more than one spray on the atomizer is enough. Love it!

stacia79

I agree the combination of cyclamen and freesia create a smell that is very realistic to real lilac. I used to see Byredo La Tulipe occasionally recommended to people looking for a lilac scent and I never understood why because the listed notes had no lilac. But now I sample it and yes, the first image that sprang to my mind's eye was purple and white lilac bushes in the late spring. I have them growing in my yard and this is precisely the smell. Soft, fresh, purple. I don't know if tulips have a smell other than green, and that is obviously a big part of this perfume too. A very pretty spring floral.

LauraVTerrazas

Wow, this is an impressive green scent. I usually really really really struggle with green+ floral fragrances. Maybe because it's not so in your face (which is pretty much the norm. for Byredo). The body lotion paired with the edp is divine! Worth giving it a try.

looraw

I was initially lured in to la tulipe based on the mere fact that I love tulips, visually and conceptually, but was suspicious as I don’t usually enjoy floral fragrances.

La tulipe was a very pleasant surprise. A soft, pillowy, full nose kind of floral that brought to mind a warm spring breeze and an enveloping hug from someone loving and maternal. Gentle, but stable.

As reviewer below stated, my cat also seems to particularly enjoy this fragrance. Strange phenomenon. He has been a purry and snuggly boy ever since I sprayed this on.

LudkaK

I asked the shop assistant to spray it on a paper strip on Saturday and on Monday it's still there :-) I see it at Notino with 10% off as Valentine's discount and I'm seriously considering getting 50 ml bottle. I haven't tested it on my skin but on paper, it's just gorgeous. I agree with other reviewers, it's clean, fresh, floral, gorgeous :-)

Edit: I finally bought it, full 100 ml bottle and it's a fantastic floral scent, soft but not weak, I'm getting lots of compliments. To my nose, the initial spray is just gorgeous, then later on some green notes pop up that make it a bit harsh but I don't mind. It's not a monster, the lasting power is about 5 - 6 hrs but on clothes, it stays for days. It's a definite love.

Chanel.Amalia

Very rarely to find perfume with the tulip smell.I was search a lot of years,But they are only few in world.Very clean fresh and then comes realistic Tulip. Its so feminine its so gentle so nice and soft. Its smells like spring, like fresh air with tulip scent.Love it.longevity its 5 hours maximum but i can forgive it for a wonderful smell.10/10

Harold-Meissner

Very clean safe pretty soapy frag. It’s way overpriced.

sweetdaffodils

I LOVE THIS ONE. she's supa cute and like ur frolicking through a flower field w clean laundry.

GabrielleF

I'm generally not a floral perfumes lover, but I love this one. A perfectly balanced concoction of floral, woodsy and green notes. t's comforting, captivating and vibrant, but it does ooze something innocent and pure. Strangely enough, my cat who stays away from me anytime I wear perfumes, doesn't mind this one at all

ladydonttekno

Bright green spring floral with tart rhubarb (love this addition!) However, as with nearly every other Byredo offering I've tried, it has a soapy drydown that I can't stand. Aldehydes must be part of the Byredo DNA. What could have been the perfect tulip scent was ruined by it. The fast fade doesn't help, either.

brittanyandco

If the song "Les Fleurs" by Minnie Riperton were a perfume, it would smell like La Tulipe. A burst of flowers with a sweet and clean, almost soapy background. People always talk about other Byredo scents, but this one is beautiful and caught me completely by surprise.

delightme5

Comments seem to allude towards perfect for brides and generally not much more. Its in fact a perfectly unisex perfume. Ģreen, sometimes soapy? Vaguely sweet - no tutti frutti. There is perhaps a vague synthetic feeling likely created by a water like note which is all part of this freshmess. This does not work well in cool to cold weather. For the pleasure to unfold, my experience shows use this only in warm to hot or humid like weather, where it shines a few different facets and brings out its best yellow greens. Cold weather flattens this perfume.

evarosa

Wow! This one really takes me back to my childhood. This is the kind of green floral scent that young women wore in the 1980's before the androgynous aquatic freshness of the 1990's hit us.

There are notes like fig and heliotrope that I always associate to that time and even if they are not present in this fragrance there is the same sweetness.

La Tulipe is quite close to something like Houbigant Quelques Fleurs. Of course for the younger crowd who don't have these recollections it's a perfectly nice sweet and green floral.

thestranger

This smells more powdery and soapy than floral to me for some reason. Something in the opening gave me a headache

LavenderMilk

I LOVE how it smells. Whether you agree that this is a tulip, or not, it's natural-like, fresh like a tulip in the spring garden, full of youth, it's cheerful and fresh.

Cartier Carat indeed smells like it, like a pretty teen sister of the celebrity which La Tulipe is.

Parle moi des Parfum Totally White is not a tulip, it smells like a different flower, but the mood is very similar, they may be smells from almost the same time, from the same garden, but they are two friends, not sisters. Aerin Lauder Lilac Path is also a realistic, fresh, almost dewy spring flower scent, so you may try it as well if what you look for is a certain mood, not a certain flower. Or En Passant by Frederic Malle, which is another absolutely damn fabulous spring lilac.

KymIndigo

What an absolutely gorgeous little gem! If I could sum up this perfume in one word it would be "innocent". This light and slightly green floral is the most natural floral scent I've found so far - if you close your eyes and smell La Tulipe you would never know it was even a perfume, it smells just like you've dipped your nose into a bunch of freesias. I find it lasts all day long when sprayed onto my neck, but only a few hours onto the wrist or arms. A spray directly onto clothing goes a long way in terms of longevity as well. If you love floral scents but prefer more green and natural rather than the usual sweet floral, this is the perfume for you!

maddsienicole

On a test strip, I got a complex rhubarb floral with really prominent, watery green notes that I could not stop sniffing. On skin, it's a realistic but one-dimensional tulip + freesia. Soapy, with no discernable transition between top, middle, and base notes. It's different enough between sample and full bottle that I was concerned the bottle I purchased had either gone bad or was a fake. Mediocre sillage and lasting power, not spectacular. My favorite scents are green florals, and this is different enough from the others I have that I'm happy to have a full bottle. But it's a daily wear that I spray abundantly, since it doesn't leave a trail and I don't particularly care about savoring it (and I'm not sure I would repurchase, once I run out.) I will say, everyone and their mom is wearing Bal D'Afrique, Bibliotheque, and Gypsy Water. If you want a signature scent from Byredo that you're not going to smell on everyone, I'd go for this one.

ckorp8

Biblotheque is my favorite Byredo perfume and that got me buying other by the same brand. However, others I got keep disappointing. La Tulipe is the latest in this attempt and will probably be the last. The scent I got, asserted by others as being realistic tulip scent, though “nice” and not too generic, isn’t enough to keep me interested. My tulips certainly didn’t smell like this from my memory. But anyway, the perfume as a whole is simply just mediocre to me.
Bal d’Afrique and Casablanca Lily are the other good enough Byredo perfumes in my collection fyi.

Kterhark

This is a difficult fragrance to review because nothing really stands out. Is it a stinker? No. Is it earth shattering? No. Is it the best floral green you'll ever try? no. But it's also not the worst. it's a middling fragrance, which are the hardest to review. My final thoughts: I would swap out the rhubard/reedy note and bring in something more harmonious. Antonia's Flowers 'Absolu' is a good place to start for inspiration.

ghkim

Fresh floral fragrance perfect for spring with a slight woody dry down that keeps it from being too one dimensional. Nothing particularly earth shattering here, but it is a lovely light fragrance. Good for office or for when a strong fragrance is not a good idea. Better than a designer fragrance because of the balance and that subtle dry down. Similar in feel to gypsy water.

camellia eve

The tulip note smells quite like the real thing. If you're looking for a very tulip-like scent, try it out. Its a lovely scent, especially for spring time, however not one that I'd get a full size of. I scrolled the internet looking for something that resembles the YSL rouge volupte sheer candy lipstick or the tint-in-balm as I completely love the scent of them, someone recommended to try La Tulipe, unfortunately it wasn't it.

cocoma

Smells like when as a kid you'd go to the house of a friend and you meet their mom. Comforting and unique, but at the same time I don't want to smell like someone's mom, so this one is not for me.

s.pellegrino

La Tulipe is an absolutely lovely floral scent, that quite brilliantly manages to touch upon the sweet, fresh, and creamy aspects of the tulip (which, I would say, does have a subtle smell). Lotion-y and clean, yes, but in a way that immediately puts a big smile on my face. Having said that, I also fully agree with the reviewer below who notes that if your seven-year-old niece would smell like this, it would make total sense. This is one of those fragrances where I think I prefer to smell it, rather than to smell of it. I saw there is a hand cream, that might be the perfect way to briefly indulge in La Tulipe for me. But yes, utterly divine.

AnnaElli

Light, crisp, floral smell and so tulip-like, but a bit sweeter. I like when scent smell authentic to the notes. Even if I get the soapy reference in the drydown, to me without reading the reviews, the soap didn't come to mind, tbh. Still quite a nice easy to wear, fresh and uplifting scent.

fluffypuffy

I LOVE IT

moonlightbaby

Soap. Just soap. It's nice but not for the price

ingeneuxo

-Light, soapy floral scent.
-Rather nondescript for a niche fragrance.
-This is what I imagine your freshly-washed laundry would smell like, when sent for professional cleaning at a five-star establishment. (-)

bergamotted

A very lovely, happy floral. Sweet, but not headache-inducing. Dried down into a soapy clean floral, and it's pretty similar to any old generic hand cream/soap. It was still nice, I just didn't want to smell like soap. Not worth the price tag personally.

niqazman

Bought La Tulipe today after few weeks (or has it been months?) searching for a signature scent. I honestly wasn't expecting much from it because I was hyper-focused on other more famous scents that others have been raving about such as Gypsy water and Bald'afrique and I was so ready to buy either of these two, but it was only after the sale assistant sprayed La Tulipe on the card I was blown away by the opening note! It was beautiful and so simple (but it a good way!). It's a very straightforward scent nothing too complex. Came back the next day (which is today) to the shop and bought it straight away because I can't get the scent off of my mind. And that's how I know I've fallen in love with a scent (and I guess that's how scent memories are created and now La Tulipe by Byredo will always remind me of my spontaneous trip to Brown Thomas after my last day of class for Year 2 Medicine at Trinity College Dublin!)

h10011z

Very fresh and beautiful at first, but quickly started reminding me of laundry detergent or dryer sheets—maybe because of the green note in the base. Still a pretty scent, but probably not fbw for me.

Jessica_Jones

Love. So pretty and cuddly. Actually now that I think about it I feel like this is how a little girl should smell. Like if I'm hugging my 7 year old giggling niece it would be adorable if she smelled like La Tulipe.
Either way, there's no way I'm paying the full price for this. I tried 5 samples today and this was the first to disappear.

Ski4Ski

La Tulipe never fails to put a smile on my face each time I spray it. Never. To me, this smells like a pretty, fresh bouquet of high quality flowers - mildly sweet and very well blended. Great quality and simply beautiful!

Siliaki

Whenever I wear this people around me ask "where does this smell come from?". A devil in disguise. It's not overwhelmingly sexy, nor mysterious, nor dangerous, nor even classy, yet it attracts people close to you like a magnet.
It's fresh but not at all sporty. It's both warm and breezy and inoccent without being boring. If it were a woman she would have very long light brown hair, walking barefoot in a field of tulips in the first morning hours. If you like complex perfumes you will hate this. If you like your perfumes bold, stay away. This is linear, straitforward, simple and it smells heavenly

katariina9

Mine is a shameless result of too much time spent in the tax-free part of the airport. Mind you, in the middle of winter, just before Christmas. But who cares if you find your favourite flower, with its meaty leaves, velvety petals, golden heart and slightly sour smell of first spring days, asking to be taken home? I did as ordered. And waited for a few months, until it was perfect time to wear La Tulipe.

A beauty. Excellent creation by Byredo considering that tulips are the epitomes of spring, yet there are only a few varieties that have fragrant blossoms. Usually its everything else that smells fresh and peppery- bulbs, leaves, stems... La Tulipe captures all of it, plus lasts and projects well. Intoxicating dewy, fresh and feminine. Incredibly authentic-smelling, but not exactly a soliflore- you can also smell hyacinth, freesia and lilac in the background. But it has linear development, which for this particular scent is a huge plus in my book. A must for all the tulip-and spring-flower lovers and one of my favourite Byredos.

EDIT June 2021: Got the La Tulipe small perfumed oil to go with the scent, and if used decent amount of oil under the perfume, it easily doubles the performance, projects really well like this too. My guess is that Byredo oils are there to extend the longevity and projection, works well, but a bit cheeky considering the total price.

wallywinthrop

Beautiful smooth slightly sweet velvety tulip/rhubarb/freesia, clean in the sense of the tiniest whisper of powder. Remember what Philosophy's Baby Grace used to smell like? Kind of a sweet tinge of mimosa. This is similar, to my nose.

Deepwater

Very realistic tulips! Absolutely love it, but it dissapears from my skin very quickly, from my hair and cloths I can hear it longer..maybe couple hours

enku

I don't know maybe I'm wrong but to me, the dry down smells like miracle lancome.

whoaboy

Quite a lovely spring scent. The tulip accord is my favorite part. Unfortunately, on me, it's a bit buried by the freesia and rhubarb top notes--even through dry down.

Tulips have very little sweetness in their green, yeasty, earthy scent. I wish this fragrance had highlighted those notes more, instead of being mixed in and softened with the top notes.

Still, I've been looking for years a fragrance that highlights tulips, this is as good as I've smelled so far.

lnoskin

This is a very realistic floral scent. Very feminine and pretty. It does smell a bit like shampoo but not in a bad way. I also pick up a bit of powder. Others have said they smell musk, I do not smell any musk. I got about 5mls in a giveaway and definitely will use it up but I don't think I will purchase the full bottle.

Timaka

The opening of La Tulipe was very promising: crisp, a bit green and quite authentic tulip. A few hours later it just smells like luxury hotel shampoo. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still nice - just wish it stayed fresh and bright (and true to its name). I think you could easily find something similar and cheaper from the brand Clean. Projection is soft, longevity seems decent enough.

MarisaM666

If someone was to blind buy this perfume and asked me what it smells like, I would say, fresh, clean (or cleaner) type of scent. Could easily be a fabric softener scent as others have mentioned. (my boyfriend went for tile cleaner, lol) it's definitely synthetic smelling. I prefer Blanche from that line, it's more of a fresh clean laundry left to dry in the sun kinda smell.

Cal2601

I unashamedly love white florals. La Tulipe is fresh, pretty, feminine and not overly heavy or cloying. The perfect fragrance for lunch out in spring or summer, sillage is arms length, maybe a little more, longevity is about 6 hours on me. I feel pretty when I wear this which is exactly why I bought it.

dreamsgourmet

At first sniff, I am reminded of liquid benadryl–very medicinal and powdery. Quickly settles down into a very smooth, soft, clean fragrance. Evocative of baby shampoo, or freshly laundered clothes. I like woody and green notes in my perfumes, but I personally don't pick up on either of those in this one. Don't really get any vetiver either. On my skin, it's all soft edges, characteristic Byredo coolness, nothing sharp or warm about it. Low sillage, but I think that fits with the personality of this fragrance. If it was very strong, I think it would be headache-inducing.

It's a pretty and inoffensive scent. I don't dislike it, and it would be pleasant to smell it on someone else, but it's personally not one that I'd reach for.

Unfurling Blossoms

Does not smell like a photorealistic flower but instead smells like a fabric softener with some dryer sheets.

margoess

There are fleeting moments in the opening minutes of La Tulipe where I can smell the most vivid, lovely, fresh-cut stems and wet, delicate petals... if I'm holding my nose riiight up to my arm. These moments are truly beautiful, but then it all too quickly fades into something that smells like dishwashing soap or baby shampoo (*nice* soap or baby shampoo... but still).

It's winter now, so I wonder if slightly warmer weather wouldn't help La Tulipe bloom a little bit louder; and I haven't yet tried more than 1-2 test sprays at a time. Maybe if I sprayed generously? Drink more water and moisturize lavishly? The opening is so beautiful, and even the shampoo notes are pleasing—so clean, so uplifting—I would love to be able to smell them more!

In spite of the difficulty that I'm having smelling this fragrance, I find myself wanting a bottle. There's something about the minimalistic theme of the scent + the design of the bottle + the straightforward name—it's all working for me and making me want this to work. If any of you are holding on to any La Tulipe pro tips, please PM me. I want to know your secrets!

Angeldna

Wow, Byredo is no joke! This smells like a real tulip! I even smell the stem! The question is, Do I want to smell like a tulip? Hmmmm...I think I do. Hubby didn’t like it. He said he didn’t like it twice and that it makes him think of a funeral home. I don’t recall seeing many tulips in funeral homes...carnations maybe, but tulips...no. Then again, does anyone really notice the flowers when there is a dead loved-one in the room? Anyway, I like it! Lol

Eupatoria

Honestly, I never realized tulips can have a scent until doing some internet research. The varieties I buy every spring don't seem to have any particular scent... must look for more fragrant varieties.

To me, this perfume smells like mimosa, just a little bit more complex than Fragonard's Mimosa, at a much higher price (and I am generally not the one to complain about a price tag). It smells like an expensive florist shop in the spring -- which is honestly a great thing.

It's a nice perfume -- light, inoffensive, unusual, elegant. Just the right amount of flowery and fresh. Would be great for office wear. Would make a great gift -- hard to imagine someone who wouldn't like the season.

Regular longevity and silage.

Byredo's La Tulipe is hands down my favourite from this niche brand. This revelation surprises me. I'm usually one to fall in love with oriental scents, and Byredo has no shortage of spicy, woodsy, incense-rich fragrances in their line. This dew-kissed, green floral has thrown me for a loop, and I'm not complaining.

Freesia is one of La Tulipe's most dominant floral accords, which is surprisingly a note that on most occasions hates my skin chemistry. Thankfully, the freesia in La Tulipe works beautifully on my skin, and for that I am grateful.

Fragrant tulip species are hard to come by, but they do exist. There's no denying that their vibrant coloured blooms are aesthetically pleasing, and I think La Tulipe has captured the essence of a bouquet of tulips quite well.

This is a beautifully composed fresh, green floral with clean nuances. I long for warm Spring days spent lounging in the sunshine whenever I smell this masterpiece. I am dumbfounded as to how La Tulipe is not as popular as Gypsy Water and Bal d'Afrique. Fragrance is subjective, but in so saying I can't see how anyone could be turned off by this fragrance.

The opening blend of cyclamen and freesia does smell reminiscent of powdery lilac in some instances. The scent development begins as a fresh garden after the rain, before transcending into a sweet laundry-esque aroma. The base notes retain the floral sweetness with a touch of dry, grassy vetiver thrown into the mix.

I must have this fragrance for Spring as I feel that my collection is lacking without it. Most importantly, I have finally found a freesia fragrance that works for me.

Bubbles1964

I get a slight powdery, “I stuck my head in a florist’s flower refrigerator” coolness from this scent. I don’t think tulips have much of a scent unless you have a hundred of them.

Blended so that nothing sticks out, I don’t pick up rhubarb or freesia or any other notes. An airy, fresh, linear floral only fading during the drydown. There’s a mainstream department store feeling here, nothing challenging to place it in the niche camp, but very easy to like.

Lots of complaints about La Tulipe lasting only a few hours, and for me that’s about the amount of time I could handle smelling like a florist shop, so not a complaint but it is a pass. A lukewarm like from me.

EDIT: I stand corrected. In 2020 I became obsessed with double tulips— there are dozens of fragrant tulip varieties, in fact I grow many of them in my garden including Exotic Emperor, Angelique, Mondial and Finola.

kwanpekyee.1

i have chosen this scent to travel with to Australia today
Tulips will bloom soon in mid September
I like how the flower symbolises the rebirth of spring
It is a light watery floral scent..quite lovely
certainly a scent to please self and others

Carpe Noctem

This is a strong like from me, but not a love. For the first ten minutes it's kind of overpowering. So strong and in-your-face. I think it does smell like a tulip. I used to grow them but of course this smell is much stronger than the natural flower. I smell the green notes, the tulips and the woodsy smells most. Thankfully Freesia is not overtaking this scent.

I would seriously think about buying this if I hadn't already fallen in love with Flowerhead first, and that one is a love. Still, La Tulipe is a beautiful floral that, once it calms down, is very smooth and pleasant.

Kbuzzbuzz

I received a sample of this and I'm glad I did. Although I love the scent and I'm not usually a fan of freesia. It's airy and light. It smells exactly what fresh flowers smell like and I enjoy it while it lasts. I couldn't imagine buying a full bottle when it only lasts 2-3 hours tops. I even had my daughter try and smell it and she could barely smell it at the 2 1/2 hour mark.

what is this I don't even

A pretty and sweet green-pink mixed floral. Silage and longevity are terrible, though, and so sadly not worth the price of a full bottle.

Đỗ.thảo

I had tried this before I bought it, but now when I spray it, I think it’s too floral for me. I’m more into fruity, goumand fragrances
So I’m gonna give this to my mom
Also it doesnt last on me, I sprayed 4-5 times and I still can not smell it on me
With that high price, I have to say that I’m disappointed

evster

A dear friend of mine gave me La Tulipe, as she initially purchased it for herself but she found herself not reaching for it that much. It's definitely one of the nicer Byredo creations; in the past I've been let down by the brand, expecting so much from the hype it's built up, only to experience something lackluster and rather one-dimensional. This one is not bad, but like my friend, I rarely pick up this one above other ones in my wardrobe.

La Tulipe opens up green, and I definitely get the tulip, or a field of tulips, after a spring rain. It's not tulips on a bright sunny day, but rather wet tulips in early April when it's still a bit chilly. It's refreshing, and inoffensive, like a baby shampoo. Like all other Byredo perfumes I've tried, this one is quite one dimensional from the start to finish-- this could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you expect out of a perfume. For me, I like more enigmatic perfumes that develop and bloom.

This could be someone's signature scent, I can see this one working year-round, as it's not TOO green either, but just green enough to put you in a bright mood. Very office safe, as it doesn't have a huge sillage either. I like La Tulipe enough but not sure if I will purchse it with my own money. There are so many interesting, better quality perfumes out there for the price.

LaUna

I was looking for a tulip scent and after many recommendations chose to order a sample of this.
It is very mild pleasant, clean shampoo like floral; soft, white florals and tulips as primary notes. It smells like lots of other white floral scents outthere, Think I have smelled this before on others. Typical springtime scent, floral bloom.
I really like the initial spray on. Drydown part turns stuffy and unflattering on my skin. Since it is on a pricey side, I shall test it out some more before deciding to purchase it....

sorenza

To my nose, tulips have no smell except something very green and fresh, like flower stems. That's what La Tulipe smells like plus some clean soapy notes.
It's very pleasant and office-friendly. Actually I wore it at work and a few colleagues said it smelled very good in the room... this happened again in a room where I teach. When entering, a kid said: "It smells like babies!" and another one answered: "No, it smells like soap!". And it happened again in another classroom: " It smells good! It smells like soap! Who just sprayed on deodorant?"
So I was very surprised to get noticed because people usually don't say anything (maybe they dare not say anything when the perfume is disturbing).
The lasting power is average. I'd say 3 to 4 hours.

damienthoresson

A very pleasant surprise for me. Byredo usually seem to rule the ‘nothing scent’ game with a bunch of banal ‘your skin but better blah blah’ releases, yet stuff like this and Pulp knock everything out of the ball park. Granted, this is a very light and feminine fragrance like many of the others ... but this one has a personality and actually tells a story.

Tulips don’t really smell of anything, but like camellia and Une Fleur de Chanel, Byredo have created a fairly interesting take on the almost scentless flower. Airy, for the feminine / femmes / feminine at heart / dudes in touch with their feminine side. Just really nice, honestly.

Light, soapy, baby soap, shampoo. Light, airy floral with some green underpinnings. Inoffensive. Clean. I can't really get too excited about it.

natasha.wahyudihardjo

This fragrance is heaven, and that is not an exaggeration. One thing I have always adored from Byredo is that they always incorporate rare notes in their perfumes, tulips and marigold (in Bal d'afrique) being two examples. I'm so stoked everytime I sniff their perfume. Yes, they are very expensive, but I admire their uniqueness.

La Tulipe smells like crushed tulips and leaves mixed in fresh water (Fiji water, I suppose). I do think that it can be a bit peppery and spicy when sprayed on fabrics. On the skin, it is much softer and simply heavenly. This fragrance makes me happy and in my years of loving perfume, Byredo is one brand that makes very distinctive perfumes that actually smell very different one another. You don't get that with popular and celebrity scents. Love it!

SailorV

Some people say tulips don't have a scent, but I have sniffed many different tulips in flower shops and some of them do have one. La Tulipe has a distinct tulip note, but all the tulips I have smelled had a softer scent. This starts very clean and green, a bit biting, like hyacinths, lily of the valley (my horror note!) and even lilac can sometimes smell in perfume. Potentially headache-inducing to those of us who find green florals a bit screeching.

When it dries down, it becomes nicer and warms up. I can really smell the rhubarb, which I love, and even a bit of natural green spiciness.
Still, this is not my kind of floral. I liked it at the Byredo counter when the saleswoman sprayed it on paper, but on my skin, it doesn't work for me. Too cool, green and sharp. But if those adjectives sound good to you, it could work, it's not a bad scent per se. Just not something I would want around me all day.

julisema

Very light scent, but really long lasting. Soft, very feminine. One of the best Byredo creations for spring season. All the time smell tulip and freesia notes as well as green notes. The best thing in this scent that it fits good young girls as well as elder women. Its so classy for my nose. And what I really like that this tulip smells so natural, not as sintetic as other.

LisaMari

I tried the hair perfume of this. Opens with a fresh citrusy floral and a little powder ..but then it starts to smell like chips.. seriously, on my hair anyway then it dries down to a kind of savoury powder and then it’s completely gone in only 3 hours... good projection poor longevity

indigo

The tulips I've encountered in real life have no smell. I do have an Australian made tulip scented candle though, & this smells just like it - so I guess they must have (perhaps when growing en masse?)
Anyway, the candle smells great & I was really pleased to get a sample of La Tulipe & find that same lovely scent in a perfume.
It's an airy Spring flower floral which also captures the delicacy & slight waxiness of the petals somehow. Pure & fresh smelling, it actually reminds me of the scent of English wild bluebells. It is neither powdery or soapy on my skin, just a natural smelling light (non-white) floral.
The longevity & silage are not great, after about 4 hours it's a faint whisper of a skin scent on me. Never mind, sometimes I just want something that smells beautiful, soft, & simple.
I can't imagine anyone finding this offensive, & I think it'd be hard to over spray this one. It's lovely & I'm going to get a full bottle - which I happily intend to douse myself in :)

cheiro-bom

This perfume has absolutely no projection and it's so fleeting, on my skin it lasts 1-2 hours max. It's a very soft, powdery floral scent that reminds me of Frederic Malle L'Eau d'Hiver, although the Byredo version is more linear. I look for perfumes with a bit more oomph, so this one is not for me.

annettepe

I bought the hair spray version of La Tulipe and also received a sample size of the perfume. I must confirm that the hair spray and perfume are 100% identical in scents. I am so in love with this fragrance. It is absolutely beautiful.

I must say the name is a little bit misleading. It is not at all a heavy floral as "La Tulipe" suggests. Instead it is a very clean, watery, airy type of soft florals. More like the scent of tulip gardens on a big bed of grass in the crisp morning after a whole night of rain. The watery green notes gives it a feeling of freshness, as if you just got out from the shower. I could also describe this scent as an expensive luxury soap you would receive in luxury palace hotels. Overall, beautiful, simple, elegant, classic. Incredibly wearable as it would not offend your surroundings. It is so versatile as you can wear it anytime of the day. I am currently wearing it during the winter, and I am pleasantly surprised by how it evolves and heightens the crisp and wateriness of the scent. I would also imagine it would be perfect for the summer as it is a light fragrance, unlike many floral scents that could easily be nauseating under the hot weather.

yzmo91

This is a beautiful clean 'realistic' idea of a floral perfume. It is unpretentious and has a humbling smell, it does not shout. The notes are nicely blended, a safe fragrance and not at all in your face. This is nice if you want to smell something that's natural and uncomplicatedly beautiful. This is the kind of perfume where you appreciate its minimalism.

aspirina

Translucent vegetal, fresh, probably unisex, green, office friendly, skin scent, overpriced, overpriced, overpriced.
I get almost nothing from this scent, completely minimalist. It also reminds me of some old fashioned baby soap scent.
I guess you can wear this to bed, or when wearing a summery white dress..it is certainly relaxing. Not full bottle worthy in my opinion.

landshark321

Byredo La Tulipe is a very agreeable floral fragrance, certainly inherently geared toward female wearers in the conventional sense, but very nicely balanced, especially as it dries down.

It's mainly tulips, with some other florals mixed, and the main element that's mixed in the dry down is vetiver, to my nose, and perhaps a little musk.

Slightly fresh, slightly herbal, almost borderline citrus-smelling, though without any listed citrus notes.

Performance is adequate, certainly better than the Gypsy Water EDC but certainly not as robust as more of the cold-weather-leaning Byredo options.

Definitely one of the nicer Byredo offerings I've tried to date. Nothing something of which I'd buy a full bottle, but a pleasant one to wear.

b.gracious

Scent - vetiver, watered tulips & woods.

Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, day or night.

Projection - I didn't get noticed, I didn't get a compliment.

Longevity - I get 12hrs consistently.

Virgoesque

La Tulipe is very soft floral, it's actually kind of amazing how soft it is...and it smells like lilac to me. Do tulips resemble lilacs in scent? Anyway, it's very pretty, feminine, and light. Medium longevity. It is linear, but I like it very much. Really nice for spring!

Winter Sweet

Uplifting with a strong character.
It does not smell like a florist shop at all.

virga

La Tulipe Byredo - the most realistic tulip, even more real than actual flower. Waxy leaves and cold musky heart. The smell of spring. That’s art and I don’t even think about this fragrance as something I could or would like to wear. As a fragrance, its very one dimensional, longevity average. Very close to skin.

Jenny.Baby

A lovely green light flowery perfume. It don t think it smells like tulips, but more like a visual impression of tulips turned into a scent.
La Tulipe is quite rich in aldehydes.

It's kind of similar to the Clean-perfumes, but in my mind more interesting.
It doesn't last very long on my skin, but I like it a lot

Jyrhara

Uplifting is the perfect word to describe this beautiful green floral. It's like spraying on your daily dose of vitamins before going to work. The most prominent notes on my skin are the greenery and freesia, then rhubarb and a hint of vetiver. Not much development, but it's not needed, as it's not something you'd wear at night.

delightfully absurd

I expected to be let down by this because of some negative reviews I read about it, but I actually found it beautiful. It doesn't resemble anything else I've tried, it's fresh and light, very uplifting. I've been wearing it for more than 9 hours and it's still there. Perhaps it's linear but in this case I think it works. Sometimes it's disappointing when a great opening dries down into a rather boring scent, this is not the case here, the dry down is the same kind of fresh as the opening. It's subtle but it has character.

Addict2Perfume

La Tulipe by Byredo smells like dewy, green tulip stems with fresh freesia that has a fruity aquatic undertone tone from the rhubarb and the cyclamen. I tried Flowerhead and found it to been a very sharp “screechy” jasmine that was so potent it drowned out the other floral notes. I love floral fragrances and La Tulipe has the perfect balance of both floral and green notes. This is no ordinary backyard garden tulip – this is rolling grassy hills full of wild tulips, covered in a crisp morning mist amongst the shady trees deep in the forest. It is very fresh, feminine, and easy to wear!

glamgirl

Tulip and freesia are some of my favorite scents, but they are nowhere to be seen here.

Overwhelmingly flowery. After a few hours, I just wanted the smell to go away.

Shoppingdoll

Pure Spring in a bottle although I love it year round. Clean, fresh, energetic, wakes you up in the morning. A happy scent for sure. Definitely get the tulip note on me. Projection and sillage are good on this one. Would put it as a mid-strength scent.

StellaDiverFlynn

Byredo La Tulipe opens on my skin in the way that a fresh bloom is emerging from earth: the flowery part has not yet awaken, the plant itself is mostly a verdancy with a delicate, earthy, dirt-like nuance, all layered over a soapy white musk with a subtle salty touch.

Soon, the flower blossoms, and the white musk also grows stronger. I'm not very familiar with freesia, therefore I mostly perceive the combined accord of soapiness and delicate white floral as linden blossom in perfumery. Later on, when the flower gets more honeyed, I'm more reminded of jasmine. But the overall effect is not dissimilar from a few floral woody musk fragrances. I wasn't able to discern rhubarb at first, its tart fruitiness combined with the creaminess of jasmine petals reminded me of not-yet-ripen bananas. It's only in the late dry down that I get the earthy yet tart fruity rhubarb.

The sillage is moderate to soft, and the longevity is around 8 hours. Hazy feeling on the whole, but still with various subtle nuances, La Tulipe would make a very enjoyable floral woody musk fragrance for everyday wear, even though the white musk is too overwhelming for my taste. I would recommend giving it a try to those who are looking for an inoffensive fragrance featuring clean white musk and abstract spring floral, but I think there are other more accessible fragrances with similar effects as well.

scain54

Really nice! La Tulipe is the type of fragrance that gives you the whole flower experience - stem, leaves, petals and pollen. Moderate sillage, super longevity. I sprayed on just a little last night before bed, and it's still lingering. Must be my body chemistry, as I see others say it doesn't last that long on them. It's really a happy scent, one of those that makes you smile. My favorite of all the Byredos!

saulyna

Well, i have worn this for a few times and just realized that the dry down on me reminds me of Versace Chrystal Noir. Not totally the same, but quite similar, with some soft greenish floweriness. Overall La Tulipe has that slightly earthy undertone, exactly as you can smell when you put your nose into the tulip blossom. Very comforting. Not exactly as clean as some others have described it. Beautiful and unique.

White.
Not virginal or angelic.
Not fluffy or cloud-like.
White

While I'm at it, it's also NOT tulip-like :)

Well, at least not to my nose. NOW, that's not a bad thing. I absolutely adore this non-tulip-like, tulip fragrance!

La Tulipe is BEAUTIFUL and well...white! I get a white soap, or maybe even a white stick deodorant note. I had no idea I wanted to smell exactly LIKE this. As I try to describe it in my head, I'm not sure anyone else will want to smell like this by my inadequate description, BUT you will...once you are lucky enough to experience it.

Other notes beside WHITE?
I think what I'm smelling is freesia, but if so...it's the cleanest, loveliest freesia I've ever encountered
The listed green notes may, MAY include violet leaves. It's hard to tell, the green is less prominent to my nose than it appears to be to fragrance voters here. It's an enhancer of the white for me. Freesia frequently has a hint of green to me, so maybe it's responsible or possibly the rhubarb? A green toss up :)
There's also a dash of pepper, unlisted. My nose tickle says it's there.

I'm betting some find this a little boring. Pretty, but 'boring'. I'm ok with that.
I don't always need whistles and bells and bright colors. Some days I need Byredo La Stick Deodorant to feel, kinda tulip-like and very, very pretty. In white, of course.

Sizzler

Gorgeous opening! Lovely green floral, fairly unique. I do not get any rhubarb, and I don't think it's overly sweet. Perfect airy springtime fragrance, without the 'hairspray' note. So charmed, I ordered a decant. Over time it slowly calms to a sheer wood and creamy cosmetics dry down (Cosmone?). I can't imagine this offending in any setting. I like the concept of creating a scent for a flower, tulip, which has almost no fragrance associated with it, and, therefore, no preconceived notions.

amirali0072000

It's a nice clean,fresh,floral and green perfume.
The projection and Longevity are good.
It's a kind of floral, green scent of byredo.
unique and interesting fragrance.certainly It's a feminine perfume.I prefer wearing it in warm weather.

dreamstate

Wow wow wow. Absolutely stunning. Reminds me of Gypsy Water in the dry down, but more feminine, which I just LOVE. I'm definitely purchasing this. Must have for any woman who want a sexy, beautiful, mysterious, scent... Its a very sensual smell in my opinion, not for the shy!

thesheppardess

Fresh, green and eventually freesia. The base notes continue to be pleasant, if somewhat average.

karenqqli

Tried La Tulipe by Byredo in the stall, smell clean and fresh, yet I thought it is too plain. If anyone have tried French Lime Blossom by Jo Malone, i would say the scent of La Tulipe smells exactly like the former.

Sillage is moderate and so does longevity. Not a must buy.

ana hen

I tested "tulipe" twice at cold weather and once at very warm April. It much better at cold rainy days - prominent very natural smell of tulips and green juicy leaves.

Love it very much, want it terribly (still have too much perfumes)but will maybe buy it for myself at birthday present.

Fhaldara

Oh, this is fantastic! Clean and fresh with a sort of innocence, it captures the non-scented tulip flower to perfection. Neil Morris' Rainflower was always my favorite tulip inspired fragrance, but La Tulipe tops even that. Incredible fragrance!

Emma0714

This reminds me alot or a shower gel or shampoo I used to have in the 90's when I was a kid! Can not for my life recall the name of it; but I got the same vibe from No. 07 White Patchouli & Cedarwood from Rituals as well.

That being said, I think this fragrance is a lovely little creature. It's white, crisp, clean, innocent and almost airy. Like blooming flowers in morning dew somewhere on a mountain. (Imagine that picture on a shower gel bottle)

I wonder if this is the fragrance Galadriel from Lord of The Rings would wear. It has that elvish-beauty wibe going on.

Escoteric

I got this after purchasing a bottle of Extreme No.1, by First in Fragrance situated in Germany, (what a disappointment regarding the item I had ordered), I opened the box and thought this is divine, my bottle may have broken, however the learning curve was an expensive one and so was the silver lining attached to the experience. They had enclosed a card with a white down feather with Byredo La Tulipe penned on it. I though wow this box smells superb. I am a bloke and I thought this is absolutely apposite of a fluffy downy, white feather. This is what I guess heaven smells like, fresh clean, and I imagine a white room, with sheer curtains billowing in the wind and spotless cotton bedding. A bowl of calla lilies adorning the dresser, with a jug of ice water. This is clean, clean, fresh. It just states cleanliness is next to godliness. I have to confess if I smelt this on a woman, I would think she is pure and virginal as the driven snow. It would not inflame me or arouse me, just make me think there is more to this person than having a wild time on those white sheets. On a man I think it would make someone think even if you had tattoos and a scar across your face and holding a bottle of meths and sleeping on the bench, wow thats one well groomed hobo or hard luck case. Its the sort of smell that if the entire bus was empty I would sit right next to the wearer. It is spectacular. Salvation lies in a bottle usually containing alcohol, and this whilst I urge you not to drink its contents, means you are in that ethereal world already. A tattoo is probably cheaper than this and carries less risk of me coming and pestering you on the bus!

Delila

My goodness, this is outstanding. Feminine, flowery and very sexy. It's also strong - you won't need much, which is good given the price.

The only downside for me is that it does not develop or transform with the dry down. I find I get fed up of smelling this initially fantastic perfume on myself. My man does not though - he just continues to enjoy it.

It also lasts quite a while. Though when it's gone, it's really gone - it vanishes, leaving no residue.

Don't let these caveats put you off - they are just FYI. It's a fabulous quality fragrance with class.

Follow up: Others mentioned this smells like Lilac Path by Aerin Lauder. It does. I checked them side by side, one on each arm, and they appear identical or extremely close to it. Lauder might have a fraction more complexity...or that might be my imagination.

Nadia1401

This smells identical to Aerin Lauder's lilac path. Very, very sweet floral, hard to ignore, but pleasant. Very girly though.

Fortunista

The imagery that this scent evokes for me is simply divine. It is what I imagine stepping into a Monet painting smells like... Or Keukenhof: An expansive field of the freshest, most perfect red tulips, experienced on the most perfect spring day. There is a wooden, drafty and clean farmhouse in the middle, and a windmill slowly churning the freshest, lightest air through white linens clung to a line. Truly blissful. I wear this often. It is a top 5 fragrance for me.

beatrix75

Strong and long lasting fresh dream fragrance .like u walking in a tulip garden in holland 10/10

freakypirate

Opens with freesia and rhubarb and water notes. Then, crispy notes that remind me of green apples, floral notes and a balsamic undertone. Quite sweet, but also with green notes in the background. From here the scent is pretty linear, the drydown is a bit more soapy but it doesn't change much.

Sillage is moderate, longevity moderate to long, quite good!

This scent doesn't smell like tulips, but gives a lovely impression of spring. Like a watercolor painting of a vase with fresh flowers, colorful and radiant. Too watery for my taste, but this is a good crisp floral.

beatrix75

Perfect spring summer fragrance very long lasting green feminine adorable

AveParfum

Have been wearing La Tulipe all day today, very linear, but I like it a lot! It is constructed with the perfect balance of tangy and sweet and takes me straight to spring and into early summer with sunshine, green plants, and granny smith apples. Unlike so many perfumes of this type, it does not dry down to an ambiguous cedar-musk type of base. It remains crisp and fresh for the 12+ hours it stays on the skin. La Tulipe is a classic and feminine green floral. Nice!

becuille

I've been searching for my perfect spring scent and I think I've found it in this.

This starts out as a crunchy green snap, but soon develops into what to me is a fairly aquatic floral. I think it's the cyclamen that does it. I know it's not a water flower, but it always smells beautifully aquatic to me. It's one of my favourite notes, so I'm happy to find it so prominent here.

This reminds me a lot of Ciel by Amouage. I've been coveting a full bottle of that one for a while now, but I think this would work just as well at a fraction of the price.

This isn't an overly complicated perfume. It starts out green, moves to aquatic floral fairly quickly then stays there. But I'm ok with that. I was looking for something clean, simple, fresh and floral and this ticks all of those boxes for me.

It's a very happy kind of a scent. It makes you smile just like that first clear day of spring. FB worthy for me.

Moderate sillage and around 8 hours longevity.

peppermoon

Clean floral, nice texture (soft rather than sharp, without being powdery). Dose of cashmeran. Boring. I think this scent and Blanche are meant to aim for the Asian market, which prefers light inoffensive scents.

nathalie87

To me this smells very "scandinavian" if that has a smell! I dont know what it is but something about this and also some other byredo perfumes gives me this assosation.. it just has this simpel clean elegance to it, and i love it! Maybe it is the smell off tulips, which is a true sign of spring in all of scandinavia, and probobly many other places in the world:) i have no idea what it is. What i like about this perfume is that it is flowery and green, and after a short while it becomes a little bit sort of green spicy, maybe it is the vetiver..?

akhala

This fragrance combines happiness and love; truly a representation of early spring. For me this is like walking barefoot on fresh, wet grass in the morning. Some first flowers, lemon trees and just popped out wild strawberries are surrounding me. And then... then I notice the tulips. I pick several and bring them home, put them in a glass vase on a wooden table, open the windows. The breeze, bringing in the lushness of the day, and the sun, bringing in the joy, enter the room. Simply amazing!
I blind bought this, just knowing that I will love it. And I really do. Also, the magnetic cap of the bottle is fun.
As the days become warmer I will definitely wear this very often. On me longevity is satisfying: around 6 hours. Quite unusual and noticeable.

Lana148

Happy floral, truly feminine fragrance - fresh, aromatic, little aquatic and sweet.

This is not tulip only fragrance, so much more going on here, like a large beautiful floral bouquet! I really like this creation, although floral is not my thing.

putri.daskian

Love. I bought this in spite of my self-imposed floral ban of 2014. Very pleasant and easy. But the longevity is a shame.

nathalie_soleil

Very lovely floral perfume! Feels like a fresh morning of Spring with the tulips and the wet grass. Beautiful tulip scent that opens very green but becomes sweeter and spicier in the dry down phase. Very feminine! Perfect Spring perfume hovewer it stays very close to the skin with a nice longevity (5-6 hours)

andabri

This literally smells like the petals of flowers in full bloom, lush and waxy. I get more freesia and star gazer lily (that waxy, petal scent) than tulip. Though I've only ever smelled tulips a few times, so I'm not an expert on them. It's green, but not a fresh, crisp, green, more like big dewy leaves, wet and cool and damp. There's a haze of a general soapy smell woven throughout it, I say haze, because it isn't full blown; sometimes it smells like soap, other times it enhances the floral fragrance. Overall, very lovely scent.

SamaraInUSA

I was given a bottle of La Tulipe by Byredo as a gift a few years ago as I’m a big fan of floral and crisp scents for summer. I fell in love with the smell out of the bottle; strong floral smell just bursts into the nostrils and fills your brain with spring. However, on my skin it was a very disappointing experience. The light top notes of greens dissipate within 20 minutes and what’s left behind is the creator’s rendition of what a tulip would smell like.
Tulips are my 3rd favorite flower after roses and peonies for their eclectic beauty and a variety of gorgeous forms. They have trace of smells and I always wondered how would a perfumer “see” the tulip and what it would smell like.
This fragrance becomes very soapy very quickly with strong flat notes of lilac flowers with gossamer hints of rhubarb’s fresh sourness and a tad of vetiver warmth and earthy grass smell. Then the smell becomes almost annoying as it becomes intoxicating and I could not smell anything else for a while. I was very disappointed at the longevity because, at least on my skin, it does not last for more than an hour, and then a very frail sense of soap is left behind. I have decided to give this fragrance to my mom as a gift and she just loves it because it reminds her of a Russian fragrance with lilac and Lilly of the valley that she had when she was in her early 20s.
I think that this smell has a very strong signature of the late 70s, the intent of light, carefree innocent florals. And as a tradition that I have, I like to think of who would wear that perfume. I get a very strong picture of a French singer, Chantal Goya with her joyous and naïve songs about happy days and sunny mood.

talnyc

I never could discern a scent from tulips, but that is not what comes to mind when I tried and bought this scent. I experienced fresh, green florals. Not too strong, as the green notes brings it down. I thought this scent was no way near like the strong Flowehead. This is one that sinus sufferers can wear.

I really loved that it reminded me of Spring in Central Park, linden blossom trees and other white flowers, mixed with scents of green are present.

Verka81

to me it smells of lime tree blossoms. i love it

evilarchitect

Love. Neon candied flowers behind a florist's window under a similarly neon sign. Clean, vibrating, liquid, neon flowers. In my mind this one could've been Inflorescence.

FrHanne

Similar to Marc Jacobs Splash Grass

pioggia-secca

I really adore tulips, and so I wanted this madly.
To me it's not the 100% exact tulip representation in perfume, but it's the closest one, so I am very much satisfied.
And the design of the bottle and the package appeal to me much as well - minimalistic and clean. Very nice.

tulipgirl

One of the first I've bought!
La Tulipe...beautiful name, and special fragrance too!
Of course it's FLORAL, as you know tulips don't smell a lot, like other flowers do , but i can imagine the tulip bulbs becoming beautiful flowers in bloom...
I think this fragrance is really good, well studied.
I can smell inside it cyclamen and freesia, like other people wrote in their review. White flowers with a spicy hint and fragrant note, but the ensemble is FRESH.
It's a unique scent to me, haven't smell similar parfums. LIKE!

Michael1962

Meticulously constructed clean and green interpretation of the aroma of a blooming tulip dripping with water.
I'm really picking up a subtle waxy floral, which is so understated but enhanced with a rhubarb and freesia note.
La Tulipe has a classic elegance about it,not overpowering at all,and is so well blended that I don't pick up the base notes at all.Mores the pity as I would like to pick up some vetiver in the drydown.
Nevertheless its a perfect warmer weather fragrance and one you would wear for yourself and not to draw attention from others.
Highly recommended for the discerning parfum lover.
