This was a Christmas gift got in 2004. It was one of my signature scents in high school. Ive been nostalgic as hell and revisited all my faves. This didn't disappoint. It’s exactly what I enjoy in fragrances as an adult: powdery, soft, undercut with some green notes so not overly cloying. Happy I got to revisit and will be wearing all spring/summer.

belizbeth

blind bought it before i really got into fragrance - rookie mistake but ya live and ya learn :)
for some reason it reminds me of bugs spray :/ probably the lime and lemongrass. i want to like it since i usually love almond and pear but i honestly dont think they work together in this perfume for me. i saw other people saying it smells like almond cookies but i just dont get that. although i typically reach for the more "sickly" sweet perfumes, so maybe its just not sweet enough for my taste
i think if you typically wear fresh/citrus-y scents and are looking to dip ur toes into gourmands this might be ur jam

I really can't think of a single negative thing about this perfume. I always get asked what I'm wearing when I have this on and it always gets me compliments. I wore this on a second date with my partner and he kept complimenting me on how good I smelled and how the scent filled the entire car. This perfume is very feminine and very uplifting. It's not overly sweet, or too sour, or too green, it's honestly a near perfect scent in my opinion.

I got this as a gift from my partner and I must say the more I’m wearing it the more I am loving it!

When I first smelled this it seemed such a unique perfume to me. I can’t really put my finger on what makes it different from other perfumes I tried though. But it being unique makes it extra special to me. I tend to buy scents with the same notes or profile. At the end a lot of my perfumes smell the same and I don’t have variety in my collection. But this is one of the rare few perfumes I actually love that is different from my other ones!

The best way i can describe this perfume is a almond cookie with a little bit of a citrus glaze on top. It definitely is a gourmand perfume to me. The almond is the main note I smell throughout the whole day. If you love gourmand scents but want something with a citrus twist I would defined recommend this.

The perfume lasts pretty long on my skin. On skin it lasts 5-7 hours or so and on clothes it lasts 10 hours.

Glyceryl

I was unsure about the almond notes, but this is actually a really lovely fragrance.

It makes me think of green gummy worms, but with saying that I don’t think this perfume is really juvenile. Any age could pull this off.

Lots of sugary lime with a hint of green nuttiness all while still being kind of cozy (probably due to the vanilla base note). I think this could work during any season and I don’t see this as being offensive to anyone; so you could easily wear it to work no matter what kind of job you have.

Indignatious83

I know that this is classified as fruity-floral but it is so gourmand to me. I get no floral and only the suggestion of lime on the initial spray. Something about the way the lime and almond mix smells almost like Dr. Pepper to me in the beginning and i don't love it, but it dries down fast to a soft and clean almond that usually stays fresh despite how sweet it is. This is as close as I'll come to using a gourmand and for me it requires cold, dry weather. I tried using it on a damp coolish fall day and it was almost nauseating. But in negative temps, this is a stunner. Lasts an eternity for me too.

I was looking for a dupe of some sorts to Black Star by Avril Lavigne and saw this was mentioned a few times in comparison. I think people may have been referring to the EDP, but I tried both and it was this EDT that truly gave me Black Star, I think due to being a tad lighter, with an extra herbal note to mimick the hibiscus in Black Star? I bought it straight away. Can't tell them apart much even when one is sprayed on each wrist, over a whole day. It's so weird because they have pear, vanilla and wood in commonm but nothing else! Yet I guess both are just the perfect mix for my signature scent.
I'll be wearing this daily, even to work :) until winter comes and I transition to Alien as always.

BlackberryCollins53

I just love this fragrance! I wore it on Christmas Day last year and it is uplifting, warm, cozy, and effervescent! I wore it shopping yesterday and my husband gave me a genuine compliment on it, that’s how you know it’s really good! Even though this is an EDT, it lasts long on clothes and has a decent projection! I could smell it on my shirt after hours of holiday shopping! 💖 we love her!

Apparently, I am a perfume snob. I saw this perfume million times on discount islands in duty-free and on recommended in online shops, and since my previous experience with Burberry was not good, I didn’t even try to give this a chance. Until in the airport I sprayed on myself several random fragrances. After an hour a divine smell appeared, highly diffusive and sweet and fresh and cozy. No floral, no gourmand, but unknown beast for me. I figured, this was Brit.
Unfortunately, I don’t remember was it EDP or EDT, but I figured EDT is airier (and it had sweet discount online). It is gorgeous, cannot stop wearing it. It is very well blended, and I don’t detect any almond and only recently started to get lime. Lime is not very bright citrus here, but an aromatic component, like a herb or smt.
It doesn’t smell like 2004, but you can guess it is not from 2020, because it is very different from new perfumes on the market.

Lovely246

This just smells really really good. This smells like someone who has it all figured out and has it all! She has money, class, style, a sexy boyfriend, and she is drop ded gorgeous. She makes the rest of us look bad without even trying. This is a great fragrance for any occasion and any time of year. Definitely a sweet fragrance, with lots of vanilla, sugar, and nuttiness coming through. I don't know that anyone could ever dislike this fragrance.

nicbat

This is the only perfume I have ever purchased multiple full size bottles of. I have worn this off and on since high school and keep coming back to it. There is something so cozy and comforting about it. It is very well balanced, a touch sweet, a touch spicy, and a touch fresh. I find this perfume best for fall and winter. I think this fragrance is very underrated and I hope it never gets discontinued.

luanneog

This one was a blind buy for me and I surprisingly liked it a lot. It's strange in a good way. The opening is aromatic and citrusy but as it dries it starts to smell sweet and cozy. It's weirdly addictive. It sort of reminds me of Viva La Juicy and Nina L'eu combined. I've never had a perfume with a lemongrass note, which makes it very interesting. Great projection and longevity.

Flowers bloom here

I agree with Golden, a few comments down... this is my first time smelling Burberry Brit and was taken by surprise with a strong, opening that's bit hard to describe at first but about 10 minutes in I'm getting reminders of dior addict... the dry down just keeps getting better and richer. I'm glad I got the edt because the strength and performance is amazing and sillage is excellent. I do detect some lime in the opening but it's mixed so well and turns into a creamy almond, vanilla cloud. What a beautiful surprise this perfume turned out to be : )

alice_w

I used to be impressed when I smelt it in a sample in my teens. After all these years, I finally found it again and own a full bottle. I find it elegant, comforting, warm and sensual. It's sweet but mature. It smells nutty and vanilla, but not cloying at all, which is valuable. It suits all occasions.

Cali_K

I call this my farmers market perfume. Perfect for a nice spring morning. I definitely get a whiff if the lemongrass on opening, but it quickly softens into a sparking sweet, but almost spicy citrus. I'm surprised it doesn't have any ginger, because that's almost how i would describe the "spicy" lime/lemongrass aspect.

Jordan 99

I like this one. It opens with lemongrass and very ripped pear, then lime starts to coming trough, almonds are gently there whole time. Later on soft peony starts to linger. It dries in to warm and cozy almond and vanilla. I love perfumes which are perfectly balanced and this perfume definitely is well balanced although it ends up more on the gourmand sweet side, definitely not fresh flower scent. Edit: I gave this perfume away, it reminds me of cologne. I got good lesson here, strongly dislike almonds in perfume, not enough flowery, dry down is bit too gourmand.

AdrianaCatLover

Smells like a blend of Viva la juicy and Armani Code.

sarage

Floral fruity? Really? To me Brit is woody and almondy, soft and warm, after the lime fades in the background. Not floral, not so fruity either. Oldie but not old-fashioned, I think Brit is timeless.
To me Brit is only for the colder seasons. This is as far from spring as December.
Adding this later: Brit EdT became my fall time favorite. I'm almost addicted to the crispy smell of lemongrass and lime blending with the warm vibes of almonds. Lovely!

LEM922

I'm just here to say, the after re-upping on many bottles, they have changed the formula of this, and it's absolutely horrific. If you get the new packaging with the bold horizontal letters on the front, that's what I'm talking about. The smell hasn't drastically changed, but it does smell slightly different than before… In the performance is absolutely terrible. I'm talking body spray quality, it's so watered down I don't know if it could even be considered an EDT. It's a body mist at this point. If you can find a bottle with the older packaging, or even the most recent older packaging with the vertical letters on it, buy it. Everything that I've said about this perfume in my last review still stands, it was one of my favorite scents. It still is. I just can't get behind this formula change. It makes me sad because this is a beautiful fragrance that definitely deserves better....

Fatima1219

Some people consider this a "clean" scent--fresh out of the shower. To my nose, this is a powdery-citrus scent. I have not worn this fragrance in a very long time. I decided to wear it today for work, and later to meet a friend for a spa day. This is my third bottle of this particular fragrance. I have been using this fragrance since its release. I still enjoy its mildness. Today, I layered it with Bodycology's Pink Vanilla Wish. They complement each other perfectly. Combined, they produce a youthful, feminine, yet elegant fragrance. This is a soft fragrance--so don't be afraid to over spray and reapply.

peachpony

After trying both the EDP and the EDT, I can say that I prefer the EDT as it's less intense in the beginning. On my skin it's a delicious almond swirl without ever crossing into the full sweetness of poison girl territory. (sorry, that's too sweet for me!) Yet, when sprayed on clothes I get the lime opening dominantly, which isn't as pleasant. It's always so interesting how fragrance reacts to different surfaces, which is why I never trust a paper tester to give me any real information about a fragrance. Overall, really lovely until I over-sprayed on my clothes and now I'm nauseous! Hardly any longevity which is how I got into this over-spraying mess in the first place :)

Still beautiful when you catch faint whiffs!

qofb

The listed notes really tell the story here. It's dry light woods and citrussy to begin, but sweet. As it dries, it gets progressively sweeter and starts to smell smooth and creamy. It morphs into a gentle lime buttercream vanilla sponge. It's not a complicated one at all, what you see is what you get.

I tried this on the hope of it being really bright and fresh and limey but sadly this isn't what I was looking for, this is instead a pastel impression of a lime. It really is a lovely fragrance for the price point though. Clean and fresh but creamy and sweet. I don't think I'd want to wear this in summer, but I think this would be great in spring and autumn. Sadly it's quite short lived.

jklovesperfumes

This is an all time favorite of mine. I finished 2bottles of 30ml before, I thought it got discontinued since I can not find it anymore in stores I usually buy my perfume… I had to search for it in online stores and luckily got a 30ml and 50ml (I panicked buy) only to find out that they change the bottles of this and even the edp. this is sweet almondy, caramel impression on me… been my signature scent for a time, but doesn’t lasts that long and sillage is just moderate. I don’t mind spraying again if I feel it doesn’t smell anymore, kinda cool since it’s not that expensive but the scent is elegant. I hope this doesn’t disappear anytime soon.

Eveningrose

This is an interesting scent in my collection. The lime , almond and sugar stands out to me . I would say this is a summery scent but can be versatile. It has decent performance too. I love the house of Burberry. I will keep this as it is unique to me but I wouldn’t repurchase if it runs out as it is not one of my favs.

malones

This was so cheap but it smells SO deliciously good. Like, really. It's not anything special, if I'm being honest. It's not gonna blow your mind. But it will creep up on you and hug you like a warm wool sweater. This is what "cosy" smells like. This is pure "hygge" and a comfort scent. You can wear this all year round, it's not gonna offend your co workers, they might even give you compliments.

I will be buying a new bottle of this in the future!

sophjvl

i have this in the older original packaging (horizontal pattern on the bottle and on the box) and its honestly one of my favourite perfumes! i spray on my wrist and gently dab it on my opposite one and at first you get a fresh rush of limey/citrusy and a slight floral (the peony note) and after around 15-20 mins it changes to a beautiful concoction of rich, nutty, floral almond vanilla, and you can notice the lemongrass and pear (i’m not usually a fan of pear in fragrance, but in this case it makes for a beautiful understated scent) it is incredibly elegant and not screamy and headache inducing yet still projects well and can be suitable for any occasion

KatanaBluebird

I got this instead of the EDP completely by accident but if I trial this one and like it enough, maybe I can see about this as an EDP. I accidentally over sprayed it and it was really strong... I got lime and florals on first blast. On my hand it mellowed out to vanilla almond (which was amazing!) and the crook of my arm retained that lime and floral smell. To the point of it starting to bother me, but not to the point of washing it off.

My husband entered the room and went "Ooof, that is all I smell right now!" >_< Sorry!!! And that was one or two spritzes on each inner elbow and one quick spray on the back of my hand.

I was going to wear it to an event tomorrow and I dont want to kill my husband on the one hour drive there, LOL

I think I will let this air out a bit and see if that almond comes out more. That's the note I'm always chasing and that's why I love Hypnotic Poison so much.

ShowMustGoOn

I made a mistake by blind buying EDT instead of EDP which I actually tried and liked. The EDP was smooth and pleasant, although not necessary unique. This one is just a clash of notes to me. Dries down to a really fake almond, some sugar ala inexpensive celebrity scent plus some older furniture smell, you know like a sweet smell old furniture can have on a humid day? However, the opening is with a lovely citrus but that evaporated in 5 mins. I can’t see myself wearing this. Off to retest EDP and return EDT.

redberrykitty

This is NICE. A successful blind buy! I wear this pretty often; almost year-round! (Except when it gets into the 80s+). My skin brings out the almond, vanilla, and a hint of the lime & lemongrass. I typically wear it with a gourmand oil or lotion to enhance the almond & vanilla notes and boost the sillage. In the early summer, the lime, lemongrass, and pear are more prominent. An awesome, well-rounded sweet scent.

Mandii_mondo7

This will forever be in my perfume collection. It’s such a beautiful smell. It’s feminine but not too girly. The opening of pear and dry down to vanilla amber is perfect for me. It’s not an overwhelming scent and can be worn daily. It last up to 6 hours on me. I have not smelled a perfume that reminds me of Burberry Brit which is a plus for me because many perfumes are starting to smell too similar.

emjh

An easy reach when I want to smell good but don't want to smell like many other popular women's fragrances. For an EDT this has amazing lasting power, I've been rebuying this fragrance since 2008. Pricepoint is amazing too

shellsybelle

I was gifted this perfume from my husband as we were shopping in a discount store and stopped to look at the perfumes. Here in New Zealand it is marketed as Burberry Brit for Her but when I went on the page I noticed it was a completely different bottle. My one says that it was made in Germany and lists that it made under the Coty brand and gives a French address and a British one underneath. The bottle looks the one above.

The perfume itself is very light and ideal if you want to wear a fragrance but want to be discreet about it. The first time I smelled it, I couldn’t smell anything at all. It was so light I had to spray it several times to recognise the notes. Mine starts off with a citrus scent, possibly lemon or lime it’s hard to tell. Then it fades after about a few minutes before it settles into a more creamier scene like vanilla or almonds. It’s still very light so I’m a bit vague in describing it. Finally after it’s been on my skin half an hour it has blended into my skin and I only can just smell it. As it was a gift I was gracious about receiving it but it’s not something I would purchase again unless it came as a Eau de Parfume. It has a lot of the notes I like in a perfume but unfortunately it wears off pretty quickly for me to really get to know it.

CiCiGourmand

Apparently I love pear scents in All forms. Yesterday I went through my entire collection and unknowingly I've picked up quite a few pear scents. Along with strawberry, rhubarb, watermelon and milky lactonic scents. If any of you ever come across a fragrance with ALL of those notes please let me know. 😂

Despite being an edt, Burberry Brit performs like an edp. The biggest difference between this flanker and the original is it's less creamy and doesn't have tonka bean. On my skin it lasts about four hours before it starts to fade. Also imo the lime is much brighter in the edt and for that reason I plan on making this a Spring staple.

elshoobie

Does anyone else get the smell of dry ice when they initially spray this on themselves? I love it. It eventually dries down to a creamy almond vanilla with those citrus notes trailing behind. I got the EDP in 2004 for Christmas, and wore it all the time to indoor ice skating.

That ‘dry ice’ scent could be the icy pear or the sugar, so I’m glad that fits my ice skating memories ☺️ This EDT is awesome for summer.

TeacupBreaker

I thought this was just middling at first, but the more I wear it, the more it’s growing on me. Burberry Brit is warm, sweet, and soothing all the way through its note progression. At the beginning of wear, I get a little more spice and it’s a touch zesty. After a few hours it becomes a very creamy vanilla. It’s a perfume true to its notes—I definitely smell sugared almonds. This would probably be very out-of-place in hot weather, but on a cold, snowy, winter day, it’s the fragrance equivalent of hot chocolate and a blanket.

MissWissy16

I bought this perfume on whim at a discounted price, and I believe it’s mainly because of my feelings. I used to wear this a lot years ago as a running errand or lazy day perfume when I lived in UK and these were very good days.

The scent itself is warm and cosy. The almond and vanilla are the most prominent notes and they really give this feeling of a laid back, enjoyable day. I made the mistake of spraying this in the car on a very hot humid summer day and I had a headache. I’m no longer a huge fan upon initial spray, but the dry down is beautiful and comforting. I’ll keep this for when it’s a bit cooler outside. And to me this is a great bed time scent. A bit strong but it still works well!

MrsTofu

Complete perfume novice. Trying to find my everyday without ick and itch factor, very delicate nose.

The vanilla is lovely in this one, but it smells too sweet for my taste and flowers are too bright. It is however not icky or itchy 👍.
Who would wear this:
Teen/ young adult, wealthy parents. Everyday to night, but probably best for a shopping afternoon with mum in spring or autumn.

ParfumJunkie

This was the first fragrance I finally found that I LOVED and that didn't turn on me. This is the fragrance that finally got me hooked to perfume. For an EDT, it has really good sillage and longevity on me. It's in my top 10 favorite fragrances alongside Hypnotic Poison Dior and Kenzo Flower Le Parfum EDP (the metallic red bottle). The almond and sugar make a perfect pairing. I still have 1 bottle stashed because I'm afraid of never finding this again. This is the fragrance that I reach for when I want to feel like I'm walking around enveloped in a great big warm hug. Thank goodness my daughter hasn't stolen it from me yet. Office safe! It doesn't fare as well in the warmer months though, so I always look forward to fall when it becomes part of my daily rotation again.

KylieBooFace

Burberry Brit EDT is a hit with me like Burberry Brit EDP. Honestly, this is one of the few scents I like where the EDT and EDP are very similar. I don't understand people's comparisons saying EDT is much different (one on another site compared it to mothballs (!)). The note profile is literally the same to me except the lime seems to linger longer, and there is a little less amber/mahogany. EDT to me is like a sprinkle of sugar and more refreshing, while EDP has a snuggly base like Voluspa's Baltic Amber candle. I really love both and don't know if I can choose. They both work well for winter, and I can easily try the EDT for summer. My only complaint is the bottle. While the new EDT bottle is pretty, something about the texture on the front of it disagrees with me when I run my finger over it. This didn't happen to me when I held the old Brit bottles. I will hold this EDT bottle on the nice smooth sides 😂

OopsyDaisy

A pretty enjoyable perfume!
The lime hits me first. A little fresh, a little sharp but it mellows out quickly with the soft almond. The pear gives some fruity sweetness as well. Together with the almond (lots of almond!) it becomes a very easy-going scent even with the lime. It's still green enough not to feel cloying, is that the lemongrass? Given some time it turns little warmer with the amber, wish it had a little more. And maybe a little less vanilla. Don't think it projects a lot but excellent for cuddles! It makes me want to wear it fresh out of the shower on a lazy Sunday morning. Soft and sweet with a little lime counter. Bought it blind as I saw it for a nice price and I'm pleased I did.

CadaverQT

This is citrusy and crisp. Professional, but cozy-clean. The lime screams on my skin after awhile, but it's tamed by the sugar. This isn't SWEET like ariana grande's perfumes or juicy couture, but there's sugar. It's so pretty. Won't buy a full bottle because the scent fades after 3 hours. A purse spray might work best for this so you can refresh. Overall, a winner.

Growing older I dont mind deeper warmer scents,so now I dont reject the EDP version of this (which I had rejected many years ago). Lime and sugar is no longer a favorite combination for me, but I do like the Burberry Brit EDT in the winter. I view this perfume as very unique in its league. To me this is like a much warmer, deeper Eau so Party by VS (pear, sugar, lime) without the poppy and the intense sugar which can be too much. So I definitely prefer it. The lime is an unexpected element and the star of the show. It's also along the lines of other sweet spicy ambery scents like Hidden Fantasy by Britney but with lime instead of orange. I do get a similar feel and vibe from Hidden Fantasy in the drydown, but with different fruity notes of course, they bear no resemblance. On me it opens up strong, with a masculine feel (pear + lemon grass/green almond+lime), the same borderline masculine effect I have from Eau So Party, but I prefer Burberry Brit EDT. I live for almond, I have an addiction to anything almond, but I dont get intense almond throughout, even though it is there and successfully smooths out the harshness of the lime and adds that aromatic milkiness of the almond. The lime/sugar element along with the amber/mahogany create a warm, kinda spicy (smoky even) effect. I associate this scent with winter time, wool skirts, fluffy sweaters and sugar cookies. Sadly my bottle smells abit stale. Ill have to repurchase the new design bottle. The drydown is comforting and cozy. Totally fell in love with this again, and I wore it in 73 degree weather today, smelled amazing. I also paired it with an almond lotion (Vaseline's almond), fabulous combo.

ceeceelee

I'm hoping this settles down and I can get through to the vanilla, sugared almond reviewers are talking about. On me I get lime, lime and more lime. It must be sweet because it smells like limeade just a bit. I'm hoping with some moisturizer it'll perform better. I don't know why I didn't go with the EdP version, I think bc everyone was saying that it projected better. I'll give it a few more tries and review again. This was a blind buy for me so I'd say not a safe blind buy.

little_red_corvette

I just bought a backup bottle of this and thought: time to write a review. I've known this scent for a long time because my mother always wore it a lot. It wasn't until last year that I became interested in this one. I fell in love with the EDT and soon after that I also bought the EDP. I own both, but I think I prefer the EDT. The EDP is a bit stronger and sharper in the opening, with more lime. In the dry-down, it is the exact same as the EDT. I would probably not repurchase the EDP, simply because it doesn't really last longer than the EDT and because the EDT is cheaper. Also: I find the EDT more soft and airy in character from the beginning, which I like. It's a perfect sugary almond scent for all year round. I already used a lot of this and I bought a back-up bottle because I know I'm going to spray this like crazy in the summer!

StinkyTinky

Hidden Gem:) to me this scent is pretty linear, but I love it’s consistency and masculine edge. Once it sinks into my skin and I sniff closely I get little tingles in my nostrils...as I might with citrus. I don’t distinctly smell lemongrass or lime, but that sensation stays through the wear. What I can distinctly pull out is a high pitched almond vanilla. It’s creamy but fresh. The intermingling of the tingly element from the citrus and the fresh gives this a unisex tone to me...
Totally unique to any in my collection. LOVE THIS...

monoousian

I recently came back to this scent after reminiscing over the perfumes I uses to wear as a teenager. This used to be my favourite perfume as a 13-16 year old, and now whenever I wear it memories of me opening my presents on Christmas day (for which this would always be one of my gifts!) and being generally carefree come flooding back to me. I don't really get such an obvious citrus from this, I start to notice the smell of lime when I try to pinpoint what is taking the edge off the more gourmand scents in the fragrance. With the dry down comes a lovely sweet woodyness which I think is the part of the fragrance which has stuck so much in my memory all these years. It's amazing how a scent can transport you to such a specific time and bring up the same emotions it did then! This remains as much a favourite of mine now as it did in the mid-late 2000's and will be staying in my collection for the foreseeable future.

LEM922

This perfume is an absolute favorite of mine. Upon application, a fresh burst of lime and lemongrass fill your nose. Normally, I'm not a fan of super citrus-y scents, but in the background you get that hint of floral almond that keeps the citrus notes from being too overpowering. As the fragrance mellows out, the sugared almond scent begins to shine through, along with the creamy vanilla and wood scent. From first spritz to drydown, this is a fantastic scent. My best friend in high school wore the EPD as her signature, but I haven't smelled that version since, but I do remember it smelling different than this, a bit stronger and creamier perhaps. This is a light scent yet strong enough to leave an impression, and my what a good impression it imparts. Brit will always have a permanent place in my collect. Love it.

Gingersnaps777

I've had this perfume for years and love it during the fall season. Out of my 250+ bottle collection, this is the one my boyfriend loves the most on me. I loved it years ago and it's unique in my collection. It's mostly a well blended scent of citrus, green almond, and vanilla according to my nose. I've played it out so much that it's a like for me now. I only reach for it now to wear for him.
I like that it's a balance of creamy semi sweet almond and green citrus. It lasts 8+ hours on me and the sillage is about arms length, maybe a little less. After all these years, it's still a keeper.

ManoChrome

I think this fragrance can easily please both those who love sweet scents and those who prefer the fresher, citrusy notes. It is sweet, but the lime balances it out really well, so it never gets syrupy. The almond is also very prominent, and the beautiful vanilla... I really enjoy it, especially in the colder autumn days. It has a bit of nice, welcoming pastry shop feeling. It is not offending in any way. OK< it is also not groundbreaking in any way, but not every scent has to be, right?

gentle vanilla-almond after citrusy top notes.
it reminds me of baked confectionaries.

Seaworthy

I knew that this fragrance has a strong citrus note up front but I was surprised how strong it is! Thankfully it is closely followed by that lovely almond note, I'm not getting a lot of sweetness with this fragrance but I'm thankful that it's in there because it tempers all that citrus I am sure. I do smell the peony in the back ground and I like that. I do smell some vanilla and a bit of amber as well. Really I was thinking for some reason that this would be a fragrance better suited for cold weather, however I think I might like it better when the weather warms up a bit in the spring. This is a very unusual fragrance! I do like it but I am thinking of trying the EDP version because I'm not getting the performance from the EDT that I was hoping for. It's more of a skin scent on me and that's fine but I really like to sniff my fragrance throughout my day. This is like all Burberry fragrances that I have tried: unique, sophisticated and absolutely beautiful!

Brittneigh

This definitely has more citrus than the EDP, but it's sooo good. Makes it a little brighter. Intoxicating and warmly sweet.. I think its such a sexy mature smell. Like in a similar way that Mugler's Alien is, not necessarily the scent but the mood of the scent...

I have a perfume from Rue 21 called MMXX (2020) that I wanted to shout out on here because there is no entry for it on this website. I swear it could be a cheap little dupe for Burberry Brit EDT.

countrynoodle

Sugary almond and creamy vanilla with a masculine citrus blast in the beginning when it is first sprayed. The citrus disappears right away on me and I'm left a very powdery sweet almond and vanilla. It last quite a long time on me; probably about 4 to 5 hours and then it sits close to the skin and I'm able to smell it on my wrists for hours beyond just 4/5. To me this is a classic soft and feminine fragrance. Its an uncomplicated scent that would be fine for work or class. I can see that the citrus in the beginning makes it wearable for the day time and the summer but I see myself wearing this in the late summer early fall wrapped in a sweater because of the creamy and powdery vanilla and almond combo. Its really a great year round any time of day kinda scent.

Oohsmellthisone

This one is good for summer with that blast of lime in the beginning. Turns to a pretty cozy vanilla if you give it awhile to settle in. Lasts a long time too.

JustSimpleThings

Bland sweet (almondy) scent with citrus opening... It smells like a celebrity scent. I wouldn't spend money on this.

floralscents88

The initial blast of sweet citrus is a tad masculine for my taste. like a mens cologne or mens aftershave. It's not unpleasant at all, just not my thing. I bought this online after I smelt this beautiful powdery softness from a lady. I immediately asked her what she was wearing and she told me its burberry brit. Unfortunately, i forgot to ask whether it was edp or edt. Anyway, I went for the edt and was not exactly what I was hoping for.

iszzieanna

This fragrance is just one of those classics you have to have in your collection. It’s warm, sweet, spicy. It can be an everyday scent. A signature scent. An all day scent.

You just can’t go wrong with it. After the initial burst of lime, it’s a classic, gorgeous, long-lasting scent.

nguyenvuhungvuong

I think it's better than EDP. Light and elegant. Habe them bith but I refer this one

raiza1990

Feminine, relaxing and soft. It's a bit powdery, a bit sweet. It's a intimate, everyday fragrance. To me, it smells like a body lotion or other personal care products. On my skin, the main note is almond.
I imagine a british housewife wearing it. She is introverted and romantic. I can also imagine a Jane Austen's character wearing it.
It projects well for a relatively long time.
Overall, a pretty and comforting scent.
Final Note : 7/10

Mdox407

Vanilla, almond, & sugar with the slightest touch of citrus from the lime peeking through.

This is pretty. But I get pretty bad performance from it...something I VERY rarely complain about.

I smelled this on a co worker (and even on her, it was weak. I just happened to walk by her literally shoulder to shoulder and smelled it.) Asked her what she was wearing, and she told me Burberry Brit. Fast forward a week...and I ordered it.

I wasn't paying close attention because if I had...I would have bought the EDP instead of the Eau De Toilette that I ordered as the price difference was legit only like, $5.

So the scent? It's a really pleasant sweet smell. It's got a lot of vanilla but the other notes really make a beautiful blend. Some scents in my opinion are just TOO much vanilla, like baking vanilla extract. The vanilla essence in this one is very smooth. It's not just a straight shot of vanilla. I quite like it.

And again...I'm hoping that I'd fare better with the EDP in terms of performance. (And I'm still debating on whether or not I'm gonna order it or not.) But this one gives me less than satisfactory performance and it doesn't take much to satisfy me...average performance is just fine with me.

On my shirt...the scent lasted over 24 hours but it was SUPER weak at that. On the skin? Same deal. While it may last TECHNICALLY...6 hours or so...it only projects like an hour.

I wore this to work one day and only sprayed a few times...and I wore it to the gym one day with literally about 20 sprays as it was VERY cold out and I was thinking the warm, sweet scent of this would be perfectly fitting for it.

Both days even with the big difference in the amount used...it wasn't projecting after an hour. At all. It's a total skin scent after an hour. Have to put my arm to my nose to smell it.

In terms of just the scent itself...I'd give it an 8 or 8.5 out of 10.

But with performance considered...I'd have to lower it to a 6.5.

Debating still, but I may give this one away or list it on Ebay and order the EDP. Anyone own both who can advise me as to whether or not the EDP performance substantially better??

Cantrence

I prefer Burberry brit EDT compared to the EDP, I own both and while they're both very similar on my skin the EDT last all day and the EDP only last about an hr or two max. The EDP can be unisex as well whereas the EDT is more feminine for its a bit more sweet but none intrusive sickly sweet. Burberry brit is well balance, gentle and perfect for work or anywhere really. It can work in all seasons but I prefer using this when the weather starts to get a little cold. I also gravitate towards this when I dont know what scent I want to wear that day. It also seem to work with whatever mood I am feeling that day It's very versatile. Give it a try.

Mbrock

I have used the EDP for years and was curious about this. In the forums some describe this as so much different than the EDP. Its not. In the dry down they are basically the same. The EDP is a bit denser & stronger.
The top on this starts with a strong blast of citrus I dont like & it makes me cough. Which is hard to do, I'm not sensitive & I like my perfumes, candles, etc strong. That part doesn't last long though & the dry down is that same beautiful almond vanilla scent. I really like it and I am glad I tried it but the EDP suits me better. I don't think you can go wrong with either one if you are thinking about buying.

panda12345

Not long lasting but smells very good

annubi19

I don't like the initial spray! It's quite sharp for me and turns woody really quick on my skin. However, the dry down smells more sweet, warm, and though sugar is listed, I get a salty sunny note in there. I like it. It's a morning/day scent. The citrus does come through before it settles down. Is it my favorite? No. But it's a good clean/soft scent on the dry down.

LisIrishFleur

Dear Courfulness,
Aka the poster below. Thank you for your Informative comment about the difference between the perfume and the toilette spray. I've been wondering about the difference between the two for a few years now. Typically when I make an o line perfume purchase. Thank you for your well informed comment without going g I to a long sorted commentary.
My purchase will be the EDP. Thanks to your review.

colorfulmess

I can tell a difference between the EDP and EDT. EDP is smoother, the vanilla rounds out the contrast between almond and lime. The EDP gives the impression of vanilla powder covering almonds on a lime tart. However, they blend together so well that the notes are indistinguishable. The EDT is more zingy, lemongrass is present at first blast, and when combined with lime, gives it a more sour citrus quality. To me the EDT is also slightly less sweet possibly because the tartness comes through. Both have a similar marzipan-almond effect. So EDP is more on the vanilla side while the EDT is more citrus. I prefer the EDP just because that's the one I started with but the EDT is still a great perfume.

angie_robyn

I liked this when I bought it last year for Autumn, but this Autumn I hardly wanted to wear it. It has become a bit too tart or tangy for me, maybe the lime and lemongrass notes. I can still pick up the sugary sweetness, but it is not enough to offset the tartness for me. I have enough other fragrances I am drawn to more.

Molly Smith

When I first sprayed Burberry Brit on a blotter, I thought: urgh, another citrus, I am not in the mood for citrus. So I stuck the blotter into my pocket, tested some more fragrances and left. A few hours later, when I smelled the blotters again, one stood out: it was a beautiful powdery smell, slightly sweet and almondy, like nothing I have smelt before. I tried to remember what it was. Could it be Burberry Brit, the one with the citrus? I couldn't believe it, but I checked the notes on Fragrantica, and it fit the description. I went to test it again the next day, it was cool and rainy, and I completely fell in love with it. I ordered 100 ml the same day.
Today the weather is cool and wet again, and I am glad I have an opportunity to wear it before the proper hot summer begins (yay, perfumes make me celebrate the cold and the rain!). Burberry Brit is perfect to wear with a trenchcoat and a scarf. I tried it on a warm and dry day, but it was too cloying.
The initial citrus (which I am not a big fan of) turns into the gourgeous almond powder with a hint of pear. The citrus shines through here and there to provide some freshness. Brit is sweet, but not too sweet, just cosy and warm on a rainy day. It is a cliché, but Brit is indeed very British. My new love. <3

joycefler

Unique scent and lovely though I grew tired of the smell after some time.

missjodles

My first immediate thought with this fragrance was the strangeness of the combination of the citruses and the gourmands. I could immediately smell the very sharp lemongrass and lime over the top of the soft almond, which is great if you love the juxtaposition of those scents but for me it wasn't so nice. I wouldn't say the combination smells bad at all, it's just not my personal preference for scents.

As the fragrance dies down the floral notes come forward a little, although the sharpness of the citrus still remained for me. At the very base I could smell the almond, vanilla, mahogany, and a little tiny warm amber aspect, and through it all the lime citrus was still there, although much softer and more pleasant; perhaps it was the pear. Despite the very gourmand base notes, this scent remained fresh and crisp and sharp to me. A very classy businesswoman scent.

I wouldn't say the citrus of this fragrance is particularly sour, but definitely sharp, especially upon first spray. But it dies down to a creamy fresh gourmand-citrus, although not totally sweet. I feel that the combinations of scents is very unique and interesting, but unfortunately it's not for me!

bst_srtclk

Burberry Brit is a scent that I’m having a hard time describing. The first notes of the perfume are too sharp for me. I don’t know why do they have this lemongrass note in this scent. But the drydown is just out of this world. It has a soapy, powdery delicious vanilla in it, and it smells perfect on my skin and on my clothes, too. The sillage is not that powerful, but I think it’s okay for a fragrance made to be a summer fragrance.

EleniEffie

I wanted to love this. I get nothing but boring citrus in the initial spray and then a dry down with a little sweetness. On my skin, this fragrance disappears after an hour. Not sure if I got a dud. Otherwise, quite disappointing, but I want to try the EDP and see if I get more performance with it.

cocogirl96

It is a bit overhyped, BUT it's still really nice. You get a little bit of everything. It's sweet, sharp, fresh, woody and warm. My favorite part of this fragrance are the base notes. They're just so well made. They work really well with my body chemistry and lingers for a long time.

When I smell this scent it somehow reminds me of being back in elementary school in the principals office. She had a lot of African masks hung on the wall and a lot of neatly organized paperwork on her gigantic wooden desk. She looked a bit like opera. Not her facial features, but the way she did her hair and the way she dressed. She was strict but very nice. I think that's why this scent gives me a professional slightly older woman vibes.

The cons to the scent are the almond and lemon notes and also the poor longevity of the top notes (which I don't mind because I'm not in love with them, but if you personally love them, you might be disappointed in that). The almond is a bit too synthetic to me and the lemon is too sharp to the point where it borderlines a dish soap lemon. I think it comes off like that because I did not like the combo between almond and lemon. It seems off. It's not so bad that I dislike the overall scent, but it's the con none the less.

Because it reminds me of one of the first prominent female figures in my life, it definitely has a place in my heart. I wonder if this was her signature scent because it immediately takes me back to getting a hug from her after crying to her about my bullies. Rip to Mrs. Foster.

Overall, I'd give this scent itself a 7/10, but more like a 9 due to my personal connection to it.

chicagogirl

Brit is one of the perfumes that made me fall in love with fragrances and fragrance collecting. It made me realize that something as simple as a few sprays can make me feel put together and pretty. This is such a classic, sweet, gourmand vanilla. It's light, airy, sweet. It's as chic, timeless and classic as plaid Burberry scarves and trench coats. The toilette lasts forever. It's cozy, warm, inviting, just beautiful. All I smell is vanilla, with some very light almond notes and lime. I'm not too crazy about the lime note. It feels out of place in this scent but it isn't too prominent so it's okay. Sadly, for me, this perfume is completely ruined because I used to wear it religiously in undergrad and now when I spray it I get a dreadful feeling in my heart bc it takes me back to the days of going to organic chemistry lab at the crack of dawn in the freezing winter cold every morning... and of course taking finals lol. So take my advice and save your most beloved perfumes and spray them during less stressful, happier moments or you may ruin them for yourself forever. Lol.

gweyslabao

I’m not good at describing notes. But to me, this is how fresh, clean, supportive soccer moms smell like.

pamelalasalle110

I love the smell of this fragrance, great staying power for an EDT. lemongrass brings a sharp, green citrus without feeling overly cirtusy and cheap smelling. That's only the first notes. It dries down into the familiar warmth of vanilla and amber, along with the subtle sweet floral of peonies and sugar. Nice and deeply sweet and welcoming. I feel as if I'm walking into a bakery and find myself craving a cup of tea near a fireplace, cuddling with my baby, who finds this scent "Quite Tasty." His words.

UPDATE & TIP:
I've recently been adding a spritz or two of my husbands Brit for Him to mine and they make a lovely British baby. BB for him is also nice with the BB EDP

Sabretoothkitten

I thought I'd love this as I love Burberry Brit Rhythm. It's nice with the pear but the cold aspect + vanilla is just too frosty for me. Almost aquatic. I prefer Tommy Hilfiger Pear or but it's not a bad scent. Just an oddness with the frozen pear and vanilla mix.

ManoChrome

I love this fragrance so much! It is so perfectly balanced: sweet, but not too heavy or sugary, fresh because of the delicious lime zest, vanilla and the woody notes are bringing warmth and softness, and there is this little masculine vibe that makes it sexy and daring, but still acceptable in the office.
It is very well blended, safe for almost every weather or occasion, and still not boring at all!
I totally love it :)

Krassimir from Lovech.BG.

One of my many former female friends smelled so wonderfully of Burbery Brit on cool fall's evening meetings with me...God ,Burbery Brit makes the women truly amazingly -smelling beings! This fragrance is a matchless mood-uplifter !

GodleWska

The aroma is pretty sweet and heavy, good for the cold season, very resistant even in the concentration of toilet water. By and large, any self-confident girl and young woman, no matter what style she adheres to, most importantly - that the mood was appropriate.

Ladybedwell

I have been using Burberry Brit for quite a while but never could categorise in which season it is best suited. But yesterday it was warm and rainy and I decided to wear it. I haven't done so since the beginning of summer.

BB starts very fresh and green on my skin. The lime, icy pear and lemongrass create a truly refreshing opening and I really enjoy this part. After about 10 mins, the green almond, sugar and woody notes start to surface and the fragrance turn to a masculine vibe but retaining the freshness of the opening - the result is fresh but with a hint of sweet tobacco. I really dig this part. This continues into the dry down but with some amber and a little bit of vanilla joining in.

Yesterday afternoon I took my daughter to her doctor's appointment and as soon as we got there the lady at reception said to me " oh wow. You smell so fresh and so very nice". Then she ask me what it is so I wrote it down for her and she was so very pleased and could not stop telling me how much she is enjoying that smell.

So I guess rainy summer afternoon it is then....
Sillage I can safely say is great and longevity is also fab on my skin 8-9 hours.

Please note that I have worn this frag at other times of the year but never got the same results in terms of sillage and longevity. I always got the masculine vibe but yesterday with the warm temperature the freshness of the lime and the icy pear were very prominent till the very end.

I absolutely love it.

cloudofdisaster

I loved this in the bottle and on first spray--bright, fresh, very sheer and summery. Then on drydown it smelled like coming out of a restaurant bathroom where the foam handsoap was almond scented and now you're eating key lime pie with your aunt (who is wearing her thick amber perfume from the 80s) sitting across the table.

Still very sheer and easy to wear though. I didn't hate it, and I see how many people would love it.

ManoChrome

This scent was quite a surprise to me. It starts whit fresh, tingly lime, I can clearly feel the lime zest as well. A few minutes later the sugary notes, vanilla and almond joins and this is how the scent remains until it fades, maybe with a bit of amber in the base. It is perfect for cloudy summer days - fresh but not too much citrus - and also for warm autumn days - it is sweet and dreamy, but not too spicy.
Sillage is not great, it sits close to the skin, but it stays for hours and hours.
I am still not sure how much I like this perfume :) A bit, a lot? It has many different faces.

heidibubbletea

What I expected: Almond, Vanilla, Citrus (Curious how it'd be like)

The opening of the first spray was a nice green tone, when it comes to the mid tone that's where things are getting weird.

It's stuck between somewhere powdery/citrus/sugary, Not vanilla, Sugary.

The combination sounds good in words to me, but in reality it smells like modesty, the feeling of clothes hardly dried during humid days, like someone who is definitely pretty but conservative, not talktative, not very passionate. It smells good, not really any flaws but I just feel cringy when I wear it.

This perfume demonstrates a strong sense of modesty if that's what represents the British spirit?

With high expectation from internet reviews, sadly I just can't really wear it after 5 months of trying, maybe someone with a more self reserved personality would wear this well.

bagaceirababy

God I love this. Burberry brit was the perfume that started me in the perfume world. Its was my first real perfume. I was probably like 18, in a store, trying scents that I knew I couldnt afford and ended up stumbling on this... Love at first sniff. Its sweet, but not too sweet, its fresh and creamy, classy and young at the same time... I had to have it... so I saved some money and bought on line for a chepaer price. The only perfume that I bought a second bottle, cause its that good and timeless. The sillage I think its very strong but staying power on me its about 5-6 hours. Some people think this is ordinary but I just think its delicious and suitable for all kinds of occasions. A must have!

FunkyTomo

I'm new to Burberrys perfumes. I've always overlooked it as a brand
This is the first one I've tried/worn. Bought a mini on a vintage market ( along with Elizabeth Taylor Passion which was a miss for me, also reviewed.), and wow I'm glad I'm now acquainted with this gem!!

When this perfume was released in 2003, the UK anti "chav" sentiment was wide spread. What was once known as a classic British brand who nailed the "country casual" look, was now looked down upon by the fashion set. Market stalls were full of fake Burberry scarfs, bags and hats. The baseball caps were the one item most loved by "chavs". A Google of "burberry chav" shows groups of young lads in head to toe Burberry checks.

Yes, I'm guilty of avoiding the negative "chav" stereotype back.in the early noughties. I grew up in a council house and come from a typical "working class" northern household. No shame in that, but poor Burberry was linked to crime/violence/A.S.B.O's and general bad traits that I wouldn't want to be labelled with.... Hence the Burberry avoidance for many years.....

Until now..So glad I've met Burberry Brit EDT. BEAUTIFUL classy smell!! Can see it matching well with a cream silk blouse and once of their classic beige trenchcoats. This would really suit a lady who is well mannered, ladylike, understated, never loud or brash, feminine, and well groomed. I'm usually of a more "in your face" type person, but Im loving this classy fume and it's straight on my FB/to buy list.

Perfect everyday scent for school runs, the office and any environment where reeking of Poison or Alien (both faves of mine) would be inappropriate.

The longevity and sillage are moderate, I'd love to try the EDP version as my only small niggle is "wish it was stronger". unlike many perfumes which I classify into "S/S or A/W", I can see me wearing this all year round. A rarity for me. Of course I will need to test it in the heat, but I can sense that it will not be sickly or cloying. Also.i think any age of person could happily wear this. The scent is one of those that does perk up my mood and make me feel happy. That pear/green/sugar almond combo makes me smile.

On first spritz I can pick out those beautiful juicy green almond and pear combo - yum yum!! I can't pick out any individual florals, but this is a sign of a well blended fume IMO, nothing screeches or jarrs, all the notes meld harmoniously . I can still discern those addictive top notes in the middle phase, with the sweet sugared almond coming through. The good solid amber / vanilla Base rounds off a gem of a fume. Don't detect the "mahogany" wood,.but who cares.

Straight on the "LOVE" list!!!

Got my eye on the Brit red, as I love Rhubarb in perfume, and I'm looking forward to testing the rest of Barberrys scents.

Contessa01

I like Burberry Brit edp and the edt is nice as well but doesn’t last long. The edt feels more casual. I bought it after everyone was wearing it and I smelled it everywhere! I think it’s lovely though, a spicy sweet fragrance. If you like Armani Idole it has a similar vibe.

SniffinBloomingBubbleLand

First reaction: reminds of Jessica Simpson's Fancy. But this is lighter, more floral.

On the skin I sense green leaf-juice of a plant. But I can smell that green only when nose touching a wrist. Round me floats heavy, quite sweet but fresh flower-scent.

A hint of unisex breathe - fashion of 2003-2008.

PERFUME CHANGED to water-liquid in 6 months. (Same happened with Guerlain's Mon.)
Actually the scent still is beautiful, but weaker somehow. Something typical for perfumes, alcohol or so, is missing.

stephanienelly95

I must admit it smells great.. but it doesn't make you stand out.. it doesn't last that long too. I wouldn't buy again as i'm obsessed with head turners and sex appeal kinds of scents... it too generic for me because you'll just blend in with the crowd.

Lila_Hill

The first time I caught a whiff of Burberry Brit it was on a women I passed as I was walking through a mall. I immediately stopped her and asked what she was wearing because it was so amazing, classy and spicy.

I had a 30 ml bottle of BB but never wore it a lot as I had quite a large perfume wardrobe at the time. I remember it to be a little too spicy and brash on me and less floral than I would like but it is definitely classy. The vanilla and tonka bean are quite present on my skin which I love.

It is a long lasting fragrance, great for the office or on a date, sophisticated enough for formal occasions.

Update: I just got another bottle of BB and I love it. It will probably become my signature scent. So glad I repurchased.

Lynnieb82

Oh my aren't you something special. I had tried Brit when it was new to the market in a set of mini's and at the time loved the whole collection but this stood out. However at the time was loyal to mine and nearly everyone my ages signature scent YSL Babydoll. Fast forward a decade and a few and this little beauty was on special for $15 ....... just $15 at Chemist warehouse!!!

That was it I threw the catalog down and raced for the car. I must have this....now...envision a crazed woman.

Anyways... they had some in stock!!! yes!! for a second I almost bought several bottles but stopped myself. Maybe I should drive the 30mins back and get some more....

This is everything I remembered the scent to be. Heaven. a vanilla and almond dream. On me i don't so much get the lime or even the pear, just pure almond and vanilla delightfulness. this is sweet without being overbearing. its rich and luxurious, moorish and just so so good.

LOVE IT!!!!

Cess268

This is a good safe everyday scent. My go to when I wanna smell good and don't wanna put too much thought into what I wanna smell like for the day. Love this little gem.

Stardew77

This is some seriously good stuff.
It smells pretty, classy, and soft.
It starts off a little sharp but dies down to a smooth, light, sweet, crisp, almond-vanilla-lime scent. I feel like I can smell the lemon grass as well.
Great perfume a new favorite

lamariposa.bella

I used to love this so much. Perhaps, I was wearing it a different season of the year. During that time I wore Joop! Homme, and I know I carried Joop! over into the summer. Regardless, I repurchased Burberry Brit and, for some reason, it isn't as delightful this time around. I remember before being excited to spray it. It would be an instant pick me up. Now, it gives the feeling of having eaten two plates of dinner and topped it off with heavy dessert. I'm going to put it away and try again during colder weather. For now, I'm getting a smell of thick cola syrup without the carbonation. I hope to enjoy this like I once did, but for now, it's a no go.

Edit:
I tried this today during slightly cooler fall weather, and it's nice again. Reminds me not to throw out perfumes without giving them several chances. Our noses can be fickle, and with so many other factors into play, these fumes deserve a fair shot!

rachelannsuraj

It is a bit too strong on my skin. It may not be as nauseating in cold weather but I live in the tropics and the heat seems to heighten the intensity of the bitter lime. It is cloying and overwhelming.

I do think that the bottle is lovely and it emulates the class and elegance than Burberry is famed to possess.

Overall, I do not have any affection for the scent and there is no consolation during its dry down.

Erinbath22

Too sweet and "perfumey" for me. Something about the way the lime interacted with the sugar, vanilla, and almond got too cloying for me. It just felt uncomfortabley weird. This one is worth trying before buying, possibly very dependent on chemistry. Admittedly, I had my hopes up for this one. It sounded like my cup of tea.
My husband and boys loved it though! I tried 3 times to like it and just couldn't. I believe it would smell great on someone else, though. It has admirable longevity and sillage for an edt, as well. Maybe I will try the EDP in winter?

contatoatla

I thought i was going to love this one because of the notes list but i didn't. The combination of the sour notes with the almound is strange for my nose. Maybe it's the sharp notes of the lime and lemongrass with the sugar that i couldn't enjoy, and it turns tart on my skin.
Too contraditory, but many people will like it. It has personality! It's more appropriate for the winter, i prefer Brit Sheer for summer days.

Andreab969

I know the chart says "fall" frag but I purchased this last fall; didn't care for it then. On a whim I put it on today and I am LOVING IT! Ah who can account for taste? On me, this is very summery and lovely & uplifting! I might even try another Burberry! Just enough citrus just right in balance of notes... it says "summer" to me. Wonderful!

jovejove

The Brit series has been reformulated and repackaged.

Mmm...Smells

Love. (⑅◠ ◡ ◠)♡

Sweet (but not too) limey goodness.

I do not like the EDP, which lacks the limey goodness, which I wish SO badly I'd known before I bought a giant bottle of it, but the EDT is love. (⑅◠ ◡ ◠)♡

perfumeglam87

This smells identical to armani code. I'm surprised no one said it. The almond in this is strong and the top note. Also smells of a sweet lime.

SDM713

I actually tried to purchase the EDP of this scent, but I was scent the EDT by mistake. However, I've really enjoyed the EDT. To me, this perfume leans a little bit masculine, but in a very nice way, which I really enjoy. In my mind, the main accords being sweet, citrus, fruity, vanilla is a bit misleading. It is those things, but in a deeper way. However, it's still very wearable, and I prefer it during the fall/winter as a nice cozy scent. Cozy! That's the best word to describe it.

eleanor.lepage

I always get a lovely surprise when I return to old faithful Brit. It's sweet and very citrusy initially & then develops into something deeper with more body. Just beautiful. To me it's unique & was my first foray into the delights of Burberry perfumes. I suspect it's different on everyone so try it & see (or smell) what happens for you.

cyndizimmer

I was first surprised by the top notes. It was not quite what I expected and I did not immediately fall in love with it. However, I think it only took about twenty minutes and I knew I had to purchase a bottle. Luckily it is pretty inexpensive. I find this to be a comforting smell. I like to spray it on my bed sheets.

kristyreynolds

Starts off with a burst of citrus and I can really smell the almond. It later dries down to the most incredible musky vanilla. Lasting power is quite good too. I can't get enough of this stuff!

janedelamare

on me, it smells like sweet cigars. absolutely love it. to quote greek goddess, it has character and is unusual.

Edit: it reminds me of a well traveled sophisticated spinster aunt who wears purple eyeglasses on a crazy chain around her neck, grey spiky hair, and drinks martinis

lilybet11

Burberry Brit EDT is what I would call a safe scent. I find that I can smell it fine throughout the course of the day, but I'm not irritating others with it (I usually only spray my wrists; occasionally will add a dab behind ears). Others have only commented (positively) on it when they're close enough to touch me (like for a hug); which is how I prefer a scent to be.

I really love the initial opening blast of lemongrass and pear (I don't really pick up on the almond and lime much at all), but sadly, it only lingers for about 10 minutes or so on me. Burberry Brit EDT quickly settles into a warm vanilla/sugar/amber scent on my skin, which I find both pleasing and comforting. It's quietly sweet and lasts a decent amount of time (6-8 hours for me). Recommend for autumn/winter seasons.

oldhag

It's nice and girly at first but eventually it just starts to smell like.. nothing. Pleasant, but on my skin there's really nothing different that sticks out about this. It's a good inoffensive gifting scent.

Annica

After the initial burst of citrus, which I didn´t enjoy, it mellowed down to a cozy and comforting every day scent greeting the senses with Almonds and Vanilla. I get a spa vibe from it. Love it

Gegauff

Does anyone know why they have changed the pattern on the packaging on this one? It looks really cheap now. Have they changed the formula also? One of my favourite perfumes. I actually prefer the EDT version, which is rare for me.

mothwings

I'm surprised this is deemed a cold weather scent. The lime is very strong in the opening and because of this it screams summer to me. There is also an herbal feeling from the lemongrass. The lime quickly sweetens up and then I like it much more, not really being a citrus person. At this point the scent is hard for me to describe because the notes all gradually meld into one distinguished scent. Over time it continues to turn into a sweeter vanilla when the top notes die. It makes me imagine a lovely refreshing summer beverage. An iced herbal tea with lime juice, vanilla, milk, and sugar. I would love to try this again in warmer weather. It is unlike anything else I have tried thus far and found it refreshing.

Eyviab

I got this in the mail today in a swap and even though I have allergies I can still smell it! One spray on my wrist and I had to run out the door! I had to run to my sons pediatricians office and the poor secretary almost had an asthma attack! Yikes! I felt awful! So I will say sillage is good with at least 2ft projection. I will test this out again when I'm not stuffed up. As of right now I get some sweet almond (which I do enjoy) but it's 4.5hrs since I first sprayed it so there's that. Initial spray was a bit odd and gave me a bit of a sniffle but idk if it's my allergies lol! Fx it's not bad! I will update you guys!

So here's an update! Wore this again today and the opening is confusing. Sort of sour and strange I don't know if it's the lime or the almond with the grass? But it's not amazing. As soon as the opening is gone the middle notes shine yummy almond and sweet the drydown is good it gets a little powdery and not too different from the middle notes definitely carry nicely into the drydown. Not a love but definitely a like.

Last update... lol ok it's growing on me. The opening I now appreciate sour lime with present lemongrass soothing like a freshly mowed lawn on a chilly fall day. Then after the opening dries the middle notes kick in hints of a freshly picked pear and nutty almonds in the backround. Then drydown is so lovely. Sweet warm Ambery almonds cozy perfect for fall and winter!

fyre92

This smells cheap, Like some random dollar store gourmand body spray. I'm not normally so brash with the description of a scent but seriously. This smells like it cost $10. If you're going to buy this, get it from beautyspin or fragrance net. Its like $20+ on those sites which is a little closer to what its actually worth. This will never be full price worthy. There's a reason i avoid Burberry scents except My Burberry Black which is amazing.

artisy

Very sheer, very likeable, perfect for snuggling and cozy situations. The lemongrass is sharper, but the citrus is rather hushed and gives the creaminess of the almond and vanilla some complexity.

I gravitate towards this in the fall.

AmyX

This one is very weak, with low projection and longevity. It's so unremarkable I can't even remember what it smelled like, a mere week after using it last. Something generic floral? With summer coming, I'm going to try again, in hopes that the heat might bring out something special.

lizzey

This fragrance is the definition of inoffensive, and could very easily lean towards safe and boring. Not usually what I gravitate towards but it's still a staple on my shelf. I wear it on airplanes, at church, to weddings, basically anytime I'll be very close to strangers and don't want to overpower or offend them with my scent. The top note of bergamot is very strong at first but dissipates very quickly and you're left with the traditional Burberry Original scent, warm vanilla sugar though maybe a bit sweeter and fresher. Like I said, not super unique and nothing you need to run out and buy, but if you're looking for something that will be universally pleasant, this is the one. Could also be a good gift as a first fragrance for someone younger or just getting into scents.

Dadadida

I find this woody perfume to be very interesting, and yes - quite sophisticated at that. It is quite similar to the edp version, with both having pretty much the same sillage and longevity. But, while the edp higlights the warm vanilla more, the edt is more about the sugar-coated bitter almonds.

Honestly, I never smelt anything quite like it, and to my nose, it is unique and very very well blended - it's an ongoing adventure with this one, as it keeps changing throught the wear.
It starts off with a very acidic and realistic lime, accomponied by a cool lemongrass - very fresh and not sweet at all, which is a rare quality in a women's fragrance (you can find these exact type of icy notes in men's sport colognes).
After half an hour, the clean sourness is mellowed down with the appearence of a fresh (not ripe!) pear, and sugary yet still bitter almonds - this is my favorite stage, which is bitter, sweet, fruity and clean all at the same time.
After 2-3 hours, it becomes warmer, with the powdery-almondy vibe becoming more and more dominant - very true to the natural scent of bitter almonds, which is more woody than sweet, with slight resemblence to anise.
With 5 hours of wear, it will then turn into a sweet, powdery almond-vanilla mixture, very much simmiliar to the scent of almond cookies or marzipan - this is my least favorite stage, and it can get a bit cloying at this point if over-sprayed.

Brit could definitley work at daytime during the cold months (though to me, this doesn't read as "professional" so be mindful when wearing it to work), but for me, I like it best as a unique winter evening scent. I actually like to smell fresh in the winter, and I find that the bitter woodyness in it and its manly attributes manage to make it sexy enough for the evening. Paired with simple yet elegant clothes, this is a different and chic fragrance that stands out among the sea of fruitchoulies, and is very much worthy of being a signature.

If I would need to sum up this perfume in 3 words, it would be: Unique; bitter-sweet; woody.

Dolce profumo di mandorle e vaniglia, davvero ottimo.
Fragranza che personalmente mi mette felicità.
Avvolgente.

Sweet citrus, pear and vanilla...fruity and girly vanilla scent for everyday wear. Pleasant, simple and fresh. The longevity is good for edt.

darlingnadine

This was my go to scent when I was 20-21. Very strong vanilla but with an edge. Sweet but not cloying or immature. Good for everyday wear. Not overpowering or offensive. Really a beautiful scent.

Pastelstreets

Apparently one of the reasons my future husband fell in love with me. (;
My fiance enjoys opening the bottle just to go back in time, back to the summer.
I always get compliments on this scent, I love this and has been the scent I always go back to.

schattenreiter

I sent my husband to the store to see if he likes Brit. He brought me a card to sniff it and i literally fell in love with it. Was amazed.
Half an hour ago, we went to buy it. It smells sweet, but nice sweet, can't stop smelling my wrist :)

I am not a huge fan of Burberry perfumes and I already had some. My newest one is Burberry Body EDP. To be honest if I knew earlier, I would choose this instead of Body EDP. Although Burberry Brit EDT shouldn't last long, I could say that it did the work and it's really pleasent. When I first used it I said: Oh my! It's like VLJ from Juicy Couture but in a more powdery way.
(I hate when people say that a perfume is similar to another or add a+b to have c but this time it really reminded me the sweetness of this perfume)
Anyway, straight to the point it's a gourmandise perfume with citrus freshness, sweet vanilla, balanced fresh floral tones and a unique sugarplum/candy base because of the almond. It's similar to the candy we traditionally give in weddings in Greece and guess what, it has a whole almond inside. It hasn't the greatest sillage but it makes me feel fresh and it cheers me up at the same time. It appeared suddenly when I used it and I just smiled. A small addiction. Excellent work from Burberry and I am really looking forward to try the EDP edition.

Its perfect for fall&i get lemongrass,i always wanted a perfume with these notes,i like a spark in my perfume collection&this is it,no wonder there was all that fuss about Burberry this&that, lol.I bought this off a lady from offerup&i thought i was getting edp&not edt,but i dont mind ill get the other later, lasts 4-6hours on me,that being said i have not had it long! I love this perfume,i really do,my cousin was right, its nice for this time of year~♡

There is a special place in my heart for this one, but I can only wear it in one specific type of weather: a dry and crisp autumn day, when the first snow is right around the corner. It really compliments the autumn air, with earthy spices like the fragrances form the leaves, and it has this very dry feeling to it that really imitates the feeling of breathing in the cold air.

It's quite sweet, but very well balanced with some sour notes, and grounded with earthy spices. It's super warm and comforting, and quite potent and long lasting for an edt. It can be suffocating, especially the dry almond cloud, so I prefer to spray it on my wrist or elbows, and not too close to my face.

I forget how amazing this is in the summer, as it just doesn't work in warm weather, but today, on this cloudy autumn day it gives me butterflies.

Warm, sweet, and pleasant. I got this discounted at Marshall's. I say best for fall/winter.

Good god........... this is rather divine. I wish it lasted on me, I only have the EDT which arrived today. Have been patiently waiting to write a review. Have had to reapply it 2-3 times in 6 hours....
If you love lemon grass, limes, anything bright and citrusy, then this is heaven. Then it evolves into warm citrus, vanilla, lime pie crust, hence the almonds. I love this stuff, but it not last om skin. Boo Hoo for me.
I will experiment and find something to layer it with to keep up longevity.
Scent is perfect. x

melisara

I have been wearing this perfume since 2006 and I still love it. It lasts a long time. I love the vanilla.

superlicious

One of my favorites. Simple, yet comforting scent. Vanillary with a hint of lemon in the beginning. It syas for hours on my skin and I wear it all year round.

lala-jaenner

It's uncomplicated and pleasant, creamy, I wear it when I need something to cheer me up in the morning, a little bit of sweetness but not vanilla-sweet. I like its notes: lemongrass, lime, sugar. Like a mojito for breakfast :)

rufflesbows

My daughter says this smells like key lime pie and she is right!! On the top I get the lime note and vanilla. The almond note is like the crust that holds everything together. I would describe this as a fresh gourmand that can be used year round. It's not too sweet, not too heavy. To top it off, this EDT has GREAT longevity and sillage! Two thumbs up.

angelyna

I used to love this perfume when it first came out. Last winter I decided to buy it for myself as a x-mas present, and to my surprise I hated it. Today, in spring, I remembered I have this bottle somewhere and decided to give it a try. I adore it now, don't ask why. I think that on my skin it only comes to life when is not too cold outside. On my skin, at least, it goes quite quickly from citrusy lime to milky almonds, the vanilla is barely there. Anyway, it is great for spring, especially spring nights ;D
Almost forgot, I remember it lasts for ages, especially on knitted sweaters.

lkha37

Wonderfully sweet and yummy! Starts off slightly citrusy but dries down to sweet yummy sugared almonds. Can't stop sniffing the back of my hand where I sprayed it on. Good for days when you want to feel sweet and girly.

emsilly

I recently finished my bottle of this lovely scent. To me, this is such an interesting fragrance! It starts very citrusy, right out of the gate a citrus blast. Then shortly after it turns into a lovely, light, creamy vanilla in the drydown. It is this dramatic change between citrus and vanilla that makes this so notable and interesting. Overall well worth it, an excellent eau de toilette.

Hipchick40

I had tested this at Sephora and remembered liking it a lot so when I saw it for a great price, I took the bait. Wow! I didn't remember it all that well. I didn't like it, I loved it! On me, it is sweet from the get go. Vanilla and lime but also a very powdery almond, which is one if my favorite scents, I'm learning. I do like citrus elements but usually find them either overly screechy or somewhat too sweet and artificial. I can't stand either element. This is the perfect way to do citrus, imo, it's so wearable.
Today, Minnesota weather is sunny and cold, maybe low 30's F and j think I will enjoy it as this temp. But, I'm also hopeful it will be versatile with all kind of weather/seasons. It's a comforting scent without being weighted down. Perhaps the lime and pear balance out the vanilla and almond and my all seasons, all events dreams will come true! I haven't worn it long enough to comment on longevity, I'll return to update that, but I'd give it a moderate + on sillage. Two sprays is plenty.
So now, two Burberry's in (Burberry women and Brit EDT) I'm so happy to be familiarized with this house. Nummy all around!
ETA: sadly longevity on me is quite poor. Is say a 4/10. I did just order some scented lotion to layer this but without it, I have to refresh after 4 hours or so. And, I do usually go for EDP's but I'm worried I won't like that version of Brit as much as I like the EDT. As they say, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
Update #2- can yo believe I no longer like this?? It's crazy! I order the EDP and that's the one I'll keep. After I wore this a few times, I wound up being annoyed by it. It didn't have anything to "grab on to." No strength in any one note and I just kept searching and searching for one to no avail. The EDP is less limey and pear but more vanilla. While the vanilla isn't aharp, it has some guts to it which I found lacking here. Aren't fragrances and noses silly?! Anyway, I'll give this up in a swap and keep the EDP. Honestly, they aren't so different but I sure don't need both and the EDP wins out for having a backbone.

Napsu

I had to sell this. It was bitter and gave me headache. No sweetness, no vanilla, nothing but bitter smell. I was dissapointed. I have Brit edp and it's much sweeter and vanilla on me even it's very strong at first. But it gives me feeling of warmth and smells beautiful.
Funny that edt was so different on me.

EVAN SWIFT

i #ADORE this stuff madly !!!! <3

somatotrope

I just can't decide about Burberry Brit. I had tried, and liked, both Brit and London before, and when my stepbrother and his wife insisted on buying me a perfume for Christmas I chose Brit, just because I knew it's generally easier to find so I figured they could get it discounted somewhere. I feel bad because I now have a barely used full sized bottle of Brit, and a dried out sample vial of London (which I love.)

Straight out of the bottle it's very sweet on me, bordering on cloying. My mom thinks it smells like cough syrup. I think that's a bit of an exaggeration, but I do know what she's talking about. There's just something very sweet and sticky in the top notes. It becomes nice, warm, and cozy as it dries down, leaving me with a vanilla that's deep, almost caramelized. If that were it I'd be sold, but there's something else in it that becomes inexplicably masculine on me when I wear it. I do NOT like smelling masculine. It must be the mahogany. Whatever it is, I end up smelling sweet but with this mysterious smoky note, which almost reminds me of tobacco. That, and the amber, just end up very heavy and thick on me. Maybe I'm crazy.

All in all, I do like this and will continue to use it happily on very cold days while wearing thick sweaters. For other occasions, it just smells too heavy on me. Probably will not repurchase, though I'm sure on others it is lovely.

sylviak

I adored this sweet scent crazily when I inhaled this fragrance. It's extremely sweet but you won't feel sick with it. It makes you satisfied and comfortable, instead. The milky sweetness with vanilla smells so soft and so warm, especially in frozen winter days.

Krishna Kiani

Nice fragrance. Fresh, soft, sweet, warm, powdery. Strong English tradition & personality. Really suits to wear in English weather. The cold weather. I don't really like vanilla scent but Brit is acceptable. Sweet but didn't cause headache. Even here in my tropical country, I found that people like to wear Brit too. Maybe because Brit is one of the popular fragrance world wide or simply just because it brings warm feeling to your heart & keep you calm. Good longevity too.

RosieRachel

Is Burberry Brit...
Fun, light and youthful? Yup!
A perfume in a super chic bottle? Yup!
Perfect for a hot summer's day? Yup!
Something different to all of those fruchoulis floating around out there? Yup!
Working well with my skin's chemistry? ...

On my skin, this was really sour at first, which I suspect was the lemongrass and lime. Luckily, it settles quickly into a lovely almond-vanilla-sugar combination that I was really enjoying. Unfortunately, I kept going back and forth between thinking 'This is lovely' to 'I can smell that almond-vanilla play-doh note on my skin'. The dry-down was just a powdery vanilla.

Brit lasted for about 4-5 hours on me as a skin scent. And sadly, this is another perfume that doesn't work well with my skin. Oh, well!

blakbarbee

I purchased this perfume last year & I am just cracking it open and whoa!!! I didn't expect this EDT to smell soo divine on my skin, I AM IN LOVE...I wish I would have discovered this years ago, needless to say, this is DIVINE & GORGEOUS & I detect all kinds of wonderfulness exuding from this wonderful fragrance, it certainly meshes with my body chemistry which is what definitely determines if a scent is totally for YOU or not...its all in the chemistry ladies! Soo pleasantly surprised by this one, it's just creamy & dreamy on me!

peachtrees

This is my go to everyday perfume. I also use it to spray scarves because it will smell nice but won't overpower any other perfume i use.
To me, this perfume is perfect for daywear everyday of the year. It doesn't need a season to shine. I love it. I wish the bottle was prettier, not that it matters at all.

JLeigh

I received this perfume as a holiday gift, and so far, I really enjoy it. I think I'll wear this often in the Fall and Winter. It's not bad for the price, and I may purchase in the future... It lasts a decent amount of time, about 5 hours and the transition is quite lovely. Beginning with citrus notes with almond/vanilla, it fades to vanilla with slight wood notes and ends with a floral, vanilla and amber finish. The scent radiates a bit, but isn't overpowering. I can easily smell it under layers, which is why I think this fragrance would be well suited to Fall and Winter.

chinna

nice but very common. Toasted almonds as always ... Boring

Not Sure

Now this is the kind of vanilla I love, strong yet lets the other notes come through. Love the touch of citrusy lime at the beginning and the round, rich vanilla/Tonka bean/amber that stays. Creamy, sexy lime and vanilla mix.

djuzz.becuzz

This is a lush gourmand with a fresh and energetic lime note in the opening. Not sour, because of the addition of sweet pear, juicy and delicious! Right from the start accompanied by almonds, sugary, slightly powdery as it dries down. Gets less citrussy in the dry down and creamier and sweeter with the vanilla.
Moderate longevity, soft sillage on my skin.
Lovely!
♥♥♥♥

Ioli19

I have both the edp and edt, but must say that the edt lasts on me the same as the edp, both the sillage and longevity are equally good
I do get a bit of lime in the beginning, but it's not much and it goes dead quick! The beginning is actually bit masculine with the edt, but only for first few minutes..This on me is all about vanilla, creamy vanilla, with some sweet pear trying to poke through! And sweet almonds, juicy almonds!
It is slightly sweet, warm, comforting, sophisticated, and doesn't seem to offend or warrant any negative remarks from people around me. I would use it in cold weather, and not overspray, Easy to wear, a lovely all rounder..
A beautiful go to perfume ...
