A warm, woody/nutty, slightly gourmand unisex scent. A shame it’s discontinued, but personally I find enough overlap with the woody/gourmand side of Zoologist that I wouldn’t need a bottle. In particular I find this close to Chipmunk, with a touch of Harvest Mouse, and any use case for this will be covered by those.

nbazza

This had incredible reviews and I know it's now discontinued... It's not a big loss for me. Quite light and soapy, slightly balmy.

maddypenny

Almond, vanilla, papyrus, white tobacco. A light, creamy scent, neither floral or fruity to me, that makes me think of a woman wearing a white linen dress with perfectly manicured nails and enviably good posture. Elegant and refined without being stuffy. Perfect for spring and summer.

kitkatya

fruity, dignified, and sweet, it really does smell like a warm ray of citrusy sunshine. pleasant to wear!

Nartan

Initial few seconds I smell some vanilla and citrus, but immediately after that all I get it strong tobacco. My skin chemistry doesn't gel well with this one

MissKC

Mmmm. Reminds me of when I was 6 and my mom would give me chamomile tea baths to help with chicken pox. Smoky Chamomile. It’s beautiful. One of my favorites.

Evanvoul

I just bought this....and I really like it. It is a creamy sweet citrus. I don't get any of the ashtray references. Not a gourmand but a happy not overly sweet feminine scent.

Ginda

Last summer my family visited a beautiful winery in Sicily, Donnafugata. The most memorable of the wines for us was a stunning dessert wine called Ben Ryé, which had really rich apricot notes from the process of semi drying the grapes in the sun. For me, Sunshine was this wine as a perfume. Sweet but in a way that is rich and mature. The opening was pretty intense, and I wasn't a massive fan of the tobacco, but the scent grew on me as it dried down to a warm and spicy vanilla. Not sure yet if I would buy the full bottle as I have just binged on discovery sets in search of a new perfect fragrance, but it's a definite maybe, not least because of the happy memories it invoked

jyumisong

Since there's many reviews on this already, I will just add my experience with a sample I got that is of the newer formula and my actual bottle from the older packaging. The newer formula has that strong cigarette smoke in the mid on my skin. The older formula has more of that floral tobacco scent which I prefer. I wished that the formula wouldn't have changed with the newer box designs, but I think it has. That's a shame. Looks like I'm going to have to look for another back up bottle of the old bottle.

MichelleSouza

Hi, I would love to swap my Armani Prive Rouge Malachite for this one if anyone is interested. The bottle is full, only used it once. Please DM me if interested

Feels like fireworks on a skin. Imagine a woman in a summer dress whose strap has fallen to reveal her bare shoulder. Desire is in her eyes, and her smooth skin smells of this perfume exactly. It smells like the intoxicating feeling you get when you really want someone.
Explosively sexy.

cluck1000

This one surprised me - it wasn’t what I was expecting. In the opening it REALLY remind’s me of Demeter’s limited edition Elvira Zombie scent that I wear every September in the Northeast US. Perhaps because of the name, the yellow, etc, I expected a more sunny spring/summer fragrance. But I’m happy it’s not your basic citrus affair too.

That said, after the opening, sunshine really fades quickly - if I spray it on my clothes I get more longevity of course and more of a linear scent bubble around me for longer. But when I first tried it on only my skin, I felt like I couldn’t detect it at all by the time I was fully dressed and out the door. I want to like this but it just doesn’t have the lifespan I expect of Amouage, or any scent this expensive tbh. The sillage is pretty close, so it’s not offensive and could be worn to the office. It’s also more unisex than I expected. This feels right for transitional weather and even those cold damp days of early spring where you may need a pick me up. But it also feels more autumnal than summer or spring - that crisp, dead leaf, type of sunshine.

At the end of the day, since I’ve already hoarded two bottles of Zombie and those give me the same feeling and u wear that during the periods where I would wear sunshine, this won’t be a purchase for me and I’m glad I sampled it first!

MichelleSouza

I have a decant of this one and when I first tried it, I was bothered by the tobacco note, but let it rest for a few months and tried it again and it seems like the perfume is more rounded, with no sharp edges, so interesting how either my nose/ perception changed or the scent itself changed. I have tried doing that to all new perfumes (blind buys) because sometimes I don't like it at first, but after a few other revisits, it seems like a whole different perfume. I have tried even buying again some perfumes that I didn't like at first, and am amazed at how they smell so different now.

LadyJedi

Sunshine is a misleading name for this fragrance. It's fruity and fresh but also a little dusty and herbal to my nose. It doesn't project much and longevity is nothing to write home about.

jessicaannp

A really nostalgic scent for me. This immediately reminded me of my aunt, a chain smoker who loved fruity perfumes, Bacardi Limón Rum, and lying on a raft in her pool for hours after slathering on a layer of tanning oil. To me, it smells just like that.

ambervxyjul

My favorite from amouage. A beautifully blended fragrance that has all the right touches. It really does smell like sunshine. The tobacco is light enough to balance any harshness. With the combination of almond and floral notes, I get an apricot vibe that reminds me of summer time. It’s fruity but not in a celebrity fragrance way. This smells expensive! I wish this lasted as long as guidance does. I love it so much that I will continue to over spray her each time.

FYI, I grew up around smokers and this has nothing that resembles ashes or cigarettes. Niche fragrances take a certain kind of nose to appreciate the masterpiece in these notes. You can’t come from celebrity fragrances and think this is going to be like that. These kinds of perfumes are works of art.

Alizey

The tobacco in Amouage Sunshine is very ashtray like… similar to Hot Couture EDP kinda Tobacco… 😷

Taurien

For me Sunshine is a great perfume. But, be careful, it hides a lot of danger and it is not to be bought blindly in any case, in my opinion, nor to be used carelessly if one does not want to risk being overwhelmed by it.

As for its smell, this perfume is a portrait of the osmanthus flower, highlighting its peach or ripe apricot facets mainly. This fruity sweetness is not cloying and, at times, it reminds me of dates. Curiously, I perceive patchouli more in the first phases of the perfume, like the powdery and almondy aspect. Vanilla however, although it is always present, is more predominant in the late development of the perfume, where it feels somewhat spicy too. At the background of the composition we find tobacco.

In terms of occasions of use, I could classify it as an elegant perfume due to its presence but, perhaps, it could be somewhat rude and obvious in its approach. For me it is also warm and solar, although I like to use it more in winter due to its extreme power.

Because Sunshine's power is epic. I, who declare myself a fan of spraying fragrances with a certain joy, even some that are somewhat heavy, get more than enough with 3-4 short sprays even in cold weather. As for duration, on my skin it exceeds 24 hours.

Listing the cons that I see about the fragrance I would say that: on the one hand it can be somewhat tiring to wear the same scent for so many hours, on the other hand the powerful projection can be somewhat dizzying and, finally, the appearance of ripe fruit can be unpleasant to some people, especially if one overdoes the spraying.

If you try it, you like it, and you are willing to commit to it for long hours on the days of use, it is a perfume that I think you can enjoy. I loved it but I won't buy a full bottle at the end of my decant, I didn't love it enough to pay the high price.

This is my first tobacco scent and i love it!! It's sweet, fresh, and a bit spicy. i blind bought it because I've heard wonderful things about it online. I am so happy i did! it reminds me of my childhood living in California and walking around the beach on a bright sunny day. it's a very comforting scent to my nose. My mood instantly changes to a more cheerful and happy one. People who grew up in a sunny, beachlike environment will appreciate this scent.

mckfly24

Warm, dusty apricot playdough. I keep trying to like it. I don't get the raving reviews.

jadepo21

I have no idea what this is even supposed to be. Nothing about this is pleasant or makes me say "I want to smell like THAT!" It's repugnant. There is something so off putting and vile in those top notes, I can't even get to the dry down. I keep trying, but have to accept it. I hate this. Deep, unbridled hate.

Vannamae__

Every few years it seems I get a sample of this in some way or another and I re-try it and I still have the same opinion on it - it smells like a pretty smoker lol. I’ve never smoked but have been around people in the past who have and it gives off the vibes of someone who smokes but is wearing a nice perfume to cover it up. I wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing it out in public because I’m not sure if people would read it the way I do and wouldn’t want people to think I’m a smoker. I don’t get why people love this so much honestly but I think it could’ve been a nice fragrance if not for that element. Also it has very poor performance.

midsommarhäxa

So. Incredibly. Beautiful. A fruit juicy burst of herbal sunshine. I get the likeness to 80’s perfumes- but this is a mature, nuanced version. The tobacco and patchouli are grounding. Perfectly blended, I have a hard time picking notes out of this perfume, but I know I smell delicious. My husband adores it. A great summer scent though I’ll wear it anytime.

Prettyp

I don’t know what this is giving… but it’s definitely not giving sunshine 😂

This is Michelle Pfeiffer coming down the elevator at night in a 80s Miami mansion in a barely there silk gown. The nutty opening is off putting but after that it’s pure hedonistic enjoyment.

I don’t know if I will have any future occasions that warrant smelling like a Miami drug lord’s wifey but if I do this will be purchased

nichoa99

I agree with the review under mine, it’s like fruit juice and tobacco. I can see how it might smell like urine. I don’t like it.

buonobi

I love Amouage but not so much into this one.
It's like while drinking fruity drink and people are smoking cigarettes around you.
Agree with "natalie1234567890" that the smokiness smells like slim light cigarette..
Can't really think of 'Sunshine'... I don't like cigarette-kind-of smoke.

sarahmarah

My first impression: This gives me late 80’s Coty Exclamation vibes. Perhaps it’s that they both have apricot, vanilla, and jasmine notes. This is a shoulder pads scent. I feel like if you like Jill Sander Sun then this might be for you. I don’t hate it but I need to test it a couple more wears.

Angelik28

Based on the notes alone I should enjoy this but this a perfume where body chemistry is everything. I tried it on and honestly it smelled like urine, which is definitely not how I want to smell. However, I gave the sample to my mother and it smells simply divine on her. So definitely try it before buying, it just might work for you.

Laoire

I recently got a 2ml sample of this fragrance! I don't know if I got a bad sample or not, but this smells to me like straight up whiskey. I just don't get why people rave about this one.

JetSnail22

In an hour it smells on my skin exactly like my mother's boiled plastic curlers with wax inside. She used them in early 90's. It was the way they work, you boil them, like dumplings, catch them up getting burned and curl your hair. And this is the smell!

Maya lilac

Sunshine must be the fruitiest scent from the entire Amouage collection. I have a couple of full bottles and tested an entire Sampler set and from all I know at least, this is the fruitiest. I find it super easy and delightful to wear.

Judging by the name I was thinking about something with white flowers, ylang ylang and solar notes. More ethereal and tropical leaning, Sunshine in a bottle - bright and positive.

But Sunshine smells like the juiciest, overripe apricots with some sweet, tangy blackcurrants, creamy almonds and thick vanilla. Tobacco flower, juniper berries, artemisia and papyrus gives Sunshine complexity and a cool edge, I have never seen this notes combination in any fragrance, adding to the fruits and flowers a more aromatic, herbal, woody, intense base. I would call Sunshine an elevated fruity floral.

The more it dries down, the powderier it gets and becomes warmer and cozy. I would consider this a fairly versatile fragrance. I think it’s a perfect scent to be worn for the final summer days and beginning of fall.

Like majority of Amouage fragrances, it is long lasting and protects well. It’s not obnoxiously loud but it’s strong and gets you noticed.

Sunshine it’s an exotic, unique smelling scent and easy to like if you’re looking for an intense, sweet, fruity scent with a twist. The kind of scent that makes you close your eyes and smile.

InnaSha

To me this is the most beautiful apricot perfume, it is very nostalgic and reminds me something from my childhood. Always make me happy, truly it is a happy scent. LOVE for me.

Tshahb

Similar náusea-inducing clash of notes to Ani, which makes me feel sick.

AleMHS

Osmanthus leaning slightly to the apricot side of things. White tobacco, blackcurrant, almond, vanilla, jasmine, artemisia, and papyrus you can also pick out individually, however the total blend is so smooth and seamless it’s best experienced together.

It begins with sweetness balanced by a tart sourness and develops into a soft creaminess. Recommended quite a bit online, but not a safe blind buy in my opinion.

I know many people tend to describe this as more of a summer scent, but I can find it slightly overwhelming in high heat as it turns into very sweet spiced apricot preserve. I tend to prefer it any other time of the year.

That being said, it absolutely does smell like sunshine. Sunshine glinting off the snow on a crisp, cold day. Sunshine beaming down on colourful fall leaves, as the beginning of autumn hits the air. A dopamine hit for the darkness of winter. Simultaneously cheerful, invigorating, and comforting.

Just gorgeous. The one that started my Amouage obsession.

VanillaaManiaa

I swear Amouage just does it for me every time 😍😍 this is the sweet, nutty tobacco scent of my dreams!!
I wanted something with prominent Tobacco flower as I still miss The Body Shop Tobacco Flower perfume from my teens- it was just so intoxicating!
The tobacco here reminds me of the damp Amber Leaf in a little gold packet my nan used to make her rollies with - ambery and gently spicy, there is the distinctive tobacco flower accord I remember so well, the almond gives a dry, dusty nutty accord whilst the syrupy blackcurrant can be smelt wafting in the air, almost shimmering above and behind all the other notes. The intense bitterness from the artemisia in the opening gives this an almost stomach churning, green-ness to it all, but is so expertly blended it stops right at the cusp of unbearable, balanced by that blackcurrant-almond combo. Masterpiece.
I don’t get any osmanthus here (one of my favourite notes) nor do I get apricot. This leans much more on the white tobacco flower side.
This is golden hour in a bottle, a woodland clearing with sun rays dappling the cracked, dry ground and dust motes floating by.
This is for wearing when it’s cold outside, your S.A.D is kicking in, and you want to be comforted. Not overly sweet, and by no means blind buy safe, very unisex and can perfectly lean either way. Lasts a long time, and pairs immaculately with Johnson’s Vita Rich Oil Infusion Almond lotion - same dusty almond accord.
Don’t get it twisted thinking this will be a bright, sunny, holiday ‘sun’ scent - that would be too obvious.
This is much more nuanced, Amouage scents are more a feeling for me, so emotive and expertly crafted.
Have you ever been out on a chilly day, you have on your big coat, a scarf, walking briskly to warm up your cold bones, then you turn a corner and the SUN just hits your face like warm honey and melts your shivers -THAT’S Amouage Sunshine. This is a warm, heavenly embrace on a cold day 🌞🤗

teenwolf

I want to sincerely echo @natalie1234567890 's description because it is true. For context i am a guy in my late 20s living in Asia (scorching heat). This perfume has an intimate bubble and smells very very clean and refined. I'd wear this during the cooler months as this would be too cloying in the humid heat. The scent is rather unisex though im sure some would say it leans slightly feminine.

To me, this fragrance does not smell of osmathus at all, but rather a western interpretation of what it smells like which many interpret as a apricot like scent. The nutty-ness of the fragrance does not bring the scent in a gourmand direction, but rather leans into the clean tobacco scent, if any of you have smelt clean straights thats what it smells like.

Its a very intimate skin scent (to my liking) and it is very distinguishable and memorable. The bottle represents the scent well since i do see it as a very sunny uplifting scent and i always feel rather happy when i wear it. No one has complimented me on the scent but to others im sure to the untrained nose some would just see it as a scent that smells like a high end moisturizer or lotion.

natalie1234567890

I have been using Sunshine for approximately two months now and wanted to share my thoughts. I originally blind bought this perfume due to the comments and 'hype' from well known social media "fragrance connoisseurs" I thought based on the reviews I would enjoy it. Well... I was put off at how different my perspective of this is compared to the reviews.
- it is not a summer perfume, too musky/warm doesn't work well in heat on me
- Its not a potent high annoying silage which is positive
- it smells like to me fresh (out of the package) tobacco with almond extract soaked in amaretto.

if you want to smell like the inside of a fresh pack of slim light cigarettes and just came back from the Italian club this is the fragrance for you.

I hope my honest unbiased review is helpful!

duruozt

tried my sample today. dried down weird on my skin and gave me a headache so absolutely not a safe blind buy. i don't get the creamy/fruity/sweet scent that everybody gets. it's tobacco with a bit of florals on my skin sadly.

myrrheille

Sweet enveloping amber tobacco. Long-lasting with decent projection. Contrary to the name and bottle, this doesn’t smell like a type of bright yellow floral tropical sunshine. It’s more like you’ve just ended a summer fling and you’re sitting on your porch smoking, reminiscing about all good times you had.

When I think of this perfume, I think Lana Del Rey - Summertime Sadness.

CHESTDAYBABY

a “je ne sais quoi” feeling.

First Impressions (sample spray):
This is a very balanced perfume. I only put a little bit on my wrist. This is a vanilla fruity fragrance, and that white tobacco keeps it from going to sweet & cloying. I’ll see how I feel about it once I finish my sample.
Edit:
Oh it does smell like apricots, okay, okay. Ooo this is unique I love that tobacco in here it’s not too much, but just the right amount. WAIT HOLD UP!!!! I know what this smells like!!!!! Hibiscus water from Maui the conditioner!!!!!! Can someone dm me and tell me I’m wrong, or correct? Also if anyone has smelled that conditioner can anyone tell me a perfume that smells like that if you know I’m wrong.
Edit 2:
Wow, yep it smells like it. I need to buy another bottle Maui to confirm. But the dry down gives me Maui. Maybe a little bit mroe elevated than that idk. More spicy from the tobacco?
Edit 3:
I want a bottle unless someone knows an exact replica of Maui hibiscus water conditioner. I always get compliments that my hair smells good from that conditioner. Fr
Edit 4:
Smells like a roasted apricot version of the Maui condition possibly, maybe more spicy or green?
Edit 5:
Youch! The dry dry down is giving very green. It’s giving Silver Al-Rehab, but a little better than that one :/.
Edit 6: nov/06
Okay I just finnished my sample. One of my friends said this smells like baby wipes, and I do have to agree. This smells like some sort of medicinal cream of babies, or some sort of baby cologne. It’s a hint of apricot citrus’s, but at the end you do get tobacco. I think I do like white tobacco or not a lot of tobacco, but this I can skip. I like it but not a full blown fan of it. I also feel like a tailor park trash mom smells like this. Not a fan.
Summary:
Smells like: vanilla, floral almost like hibiscus. Edit 6: Trailer park trash mom
Family of: hibiscus water conditioner by Maui (more spicy, or elevated). Nope doesn’t smell like that see edit 6
Silage: strong to moderate

Verdict:
Pass- this is expensive, and for it to smell like a drugstore conditioner nope. It also quickly turns to a skin scents, and not an absolute love.

brightawake

Just tried a sample today. The top notes are pretty basic on me - like any other sweet fruity fragrance - and there’s something that comes out right as the top notes fade that I don’t love. But once the tobacco kicks in, I really loved this. It might be suggestion from the name and bottle look, but it reminds me of a sunny afternoon August meadow. Hints of flowers, hints of hay, dry sunny leaves. Cicadas buzzing. That little burst of fruit is like tasting a blackberry from the side of the road that is honestly not ripe yet, so it’s a little too tart. You look down and there’s a spider on your sneaker. I really love it which is a shame because it’s so expensive 😭

kperfume

Mmmm... apricoty, almondy goodness. Not too sweet, just right. So good! I am curious how this will smell in winter.

ForTheLoveOfFrag

PSA - I don't know if this is allowed here, but Luckyscent has an exclusive Amouage code for %15: GG15

I don't know how long this will be active, but I do know I usually only get a %10 code if there's one available at all!

Maddison21

I love so much this perfume!!

cyclone1391

Very first blast of this on my skin definitely reminded me of jazz club. I know it's tobacco flower but it seems like pipe tobacco on my skin. Once that mellows out I was reminded of Diptyque Eau Duelle as well as Penhaligon's the World According to Arthur. This was a much more woody vanilla and juniper than I was expecting. My young daughter said it's "really pretty" on me but I can't stand it on myself.

madelineandmore

I struggle with this because when I first sprayed
it smells like dried apricot.
And if you haven't smelt dried apricot it smells pretty sour, a little sweet but also a little stale.
The dry down of this is much nicer
It softens and becomes more powdery sweet and comforting.

arefuthescroob

To me this brings me thoughts of warm apple cider with spices, to my husby - tobacco and rum. Lovely and cheerful scent!
White tobacco is very pretty here.

Susanna111

I got a sample of this, although I knew scents with tobacco notes are rarely to my taste.
After testing it, I was a little surprised why it's named as it is. I don't get much of summery vibes from it. This smells a little bitter on my skin and it has too much tobacco for me. I have also noticed that osmanthus and juniper, along with the tobacco, isn't to my liking. So why did I even sample it? Because of the hype around it. I was curious. Definitely not a safe blind buy.
I have sampled garden fragrances from Amouage, and they weren't my liking either.

I looked the votes for gender from this fragrance. And probably for the first time, my opinion is different from the majority because I think this is truly a unisex fragrance. And I have to say, I don't often like unisex scents on me, so that can also influence my opinion.

soldier71

as a fellow frag lover, for the life of me, I will NEVER understand how some of us use the word "nasty" to describe a scent, someone's trained (or less trained) nose, spent hours creating it; calling ANY fragrance "nasty" it is plain.... nasty and ignorant. lol

Cherry Bloom

Same perfume such different perceptions. It does not smell - not even lean - masculine on me, it is not creamy either but dry and sweet - not sickly sweet at all. It is a bit nauseating, dry, someone below mentioned dried apricot, yes, indeed and tobacco note also is there. It intrigues me and I keep testing it. I like it but i don t know if enough for a full bottle. Not just yet. However, it is a nice, unique fragrance.
Very appropriate for late summer.

Gemmy68

On my skin I find this a very unique tobacco, osmanthus forward scent...on the dry down- creamy, warm, smooth and comfy... think sunset calm after a long day in the summer sun

natafriden

It's nice, but the tobacco and juniper notes are very prominent, which makes me think of it as more of a fall scent. Or cold summer. Osmanthus gives a light apricot note, but on my skin it smells like dried or candied fruits, not fresh. Very warm and calming scent, but I'm glad I tested it first

mistrall

Leans very masculine to me. Tobacco is the main character here. Sharp, strong. Definitely recommend to check it out if you wear masculine fragrances, regardless of the gender.

Upd: so happy I gave it a chance in the summer heat! Now I get the hype: it’s a sweet and zesty apricot marmalade with spices. I still get tobacco, but it isn’t aggressively trying to shout down other notes. It will be a summer-only scent to me, but I don’t mind - it’s unique and beautiful!

Edemay

Sunshine was such a surprise for me
Its unlike anything ive smelt before!
First off super realistic dried apricot smell, tart and sweet!
Then that starts to settle and the scent becomes more soft and powdery but still sweet and comforting.
There is also a little bit of an earthy touch. When wearing this scent I found myself continually sniffing my wrists to figure out the notes and how I felt about it.
I must say its nice and I think its definitely signature scent worthy if you are looking for a fruity/powdery scent.

Xela_529

Sunshine is a beautiful floral composition with very juicy & mouth-watering black current. I love her so much! This fragrance is impeccably smooth and delightful on the nose. She has a striking elegance that makes her a bolder option for warmer days. Although she's bold, I don't think she's too over the top and in your face. Very interesting composition. She has the slightest vintage vibe, so I don't think she's for everybody. Definitely try before buying. I think anyone who appreciates bolder & unique scents will come to like this!

ina.rem

Delightful composition that evokes images of apricots in almond milk - sort of creamy almonds, and a light, sweet hay drydown. The tobacco note in Sunshine is far from overpowering. Well-suited for the summer season - 2 sprays are maximum for this fragrance. Do not overspray - otherwise you will regret in hot summer. The packaging is a true reflection of its name.

Ckita07

The term "sickly sweet" comes to mind. Not office appropriate or any place where people may be sensitive to fragrances. I could imagine this working better outdoors on a warmer day or in the evening.

denisa_iv

Sunshine is similar to Blossom Love by Amouage in my opinion and I did not like that one at all. This is much more pleasant because it's more toned down but with similar fruity floral notes mixed with vanilla and almond. I did not like Blossom Love because it was incredibly sweet and Sunshine also has a way of becoming sweeter as time goes on also, but still, has a way of sitting closer to skin so it's easier to wear. In the dry down they become incredibly similar.

I was waiting for this perfume to arrive in the mail, meantime reading reviews on here and got a-little worried with all the mixed emotions. Im pleasantly surprised by how much this smells different to what I’ve read.

I don’t like nutty perfumes, they make me nauseous (Dior hypnotic poison) but this almond note isn’t detectable for me.

I get the tobacco note, but for it being white tobacco it’s light and airy. It’s not a nasty cigarette tobacco like everyone says and I grew up around smokers!

This is the sweetest I’ve smelled so far from Amouage and I would say it’s pretty likable. I find it hard for anyone to dislike this. I was expecting something strong as amouage fragrances do that, but no it’s on the lighter side.

It’s a very well blended sweet creamy apricot, dash of florals and depth of light tobacco. Moderate projection and longetivity is amazing.

Littlebeans3

Not a fan. I reallly was excited to try this. Made me nauseous. I tried when it was hot out and it did not work with the tobacco. Someone mentioned cigarettes and perfume to cover up smell and that’s all I can smell now. I’ll try again in cooler weather to see if my opinion changes

Iridescent Bee

FINALLY a feminine fragrance with a strong juniper note. Thank you!

Tobacco flower is one of my favourite notes and it is so rare to find in a fragrance so I am totally drawn to this. It's a love. The first 5 minutes have an unfortunate burnt tire scent but thankfully that dissipates. The middle and dry down are lovely and very unique. It has a beautiful herbal quality and very refined. I definitely agree with others that this captures the sun but not necessarily in the summer - it has the qualities of sunshine in autumn especially and also winter, which I'm grateful for.

My only objection is that it doesn't last near as long as it should for the price point. It could project more, as well.

imegaphone

In the 90s my mom had a close friend who used to smoke and everytime we visited her this is what her apartment smelled like- she obviously used some kind of air freshener to cover up the cigarette smoke but it was still noticeable and Sunshine smells to me exactly like that mix which is too bad because I really wanted to like this, I'm on the hunt for something with apricot.

rita.zaretskaya

Love this! It smells like cherry and a little bit of tobacco (which is a note I like). The cherry I’m assuming is the almond note listed, so it’s quite as flat as a cherry focused perfume.
It is sweet and cozy, I don’t agree with people pushing it as summer perfume, it might be much. Certainly great for spring or early fall.

VelG

Sampled this one on skin and got very mixed feelings. I know lots of people like and recommend it and so I wanted to hop on board, but the opening was just so bitter. I think it was the artemisia that really put me off and it stayed very present for at least an hour after spraying. Simultaneously, apart from the bitterness, there was a very pleasant, shampoo-y smell underneath that lasted very, very well. I washed my hands multiple times and it still stayed as strongly as before. It has impressive projection as well and that's just from a spray or two on my hand.
Really wanted to like it, but the opening is just not worth the price tag 😕

Shadeau

The notes made me buy a sample but to me it smells like old lady scented dusting powder. Another thing is, have you ever smelled dog 'chocolate' drops? It really reminds me of that.
6 hours later and it still lingers on my shirt and it's kinda growing on me because the long-term dry down is quite nice.

Nika123

To me it just smells like a dry shampoo with a hint of tobacco. Absolutely not a safe blind buy. Pass.

jbsherry

This is stunning to me and unlike any other fragrance I’ve smelled. It smells to me of apricot preserves- assuming this is the osmanthus- accompanied by almond and vanilla rounded out by floral tobacco (not pipe tobacco whatsoever). I agree with x.rina.x that the tobacco note here is similar to the one used in Bouquet Ideale, which is another love for me. It is truly a joyful fragrance, I feel uplifted when I spray this on.

I highly recommend testing before buying as it really should be experienced; Sunshine is a journey throughout the wear and it is the first time a fragrance has been so evocative of a mood for me. Cozy, warm, slightly spicy & creamy/lactonic in the dry down. Very happy with the purchase.

amanda0727

Smells like dried apricots with hints of tobacco. Not my jam.

x.rina.x

Gorgeous!
This is truly beautiful like the warming sunshine. It's a dense fragrance of happiness what is really uplifting and joyful. Blissful and sparkling yet thick and warm. It's wrapping and hugging you around. The apricot like fruity nuances come from the osmanthus and the citrusy and waxy apricot smelling petals of magnolia. The almond and the tobacco scent give the depth.
It's a truly gem for late summer, early fall ( indian summer) time, when the nights get cooler, the first harvest time is here, the grains, the spikes, the sunflowers, the fields turns to gold and slowly the leaves and the whole view also. But the daytime sunrays are still warm & warms up our face, while bright trough our closed eyelids, playing and sparkling on our lashes.
If You like osmanthus, tobacco/tobacco blossom, fruits/dried fruits just like me, and you also like this 'indian summer' vibe fragrances like :
Kilian - GGGB extreme, Essential - Divine Vanille, Serge Lutens - Jeux de peau, Xerjoff - Bouquet Ideale, Minya Viktoria - Hedonist, Marly -Herod
(* the scents are not identical! Only the vibe at least for me)

PerfumePixie87

Opens with a gorgeous burst of blackcurrant which gives way to a powdery smooth suede like blend of almond, osmanthus and tobacco. They give off a blurry and cosy play dough vibe which is not unpleasant. It smells pretty unisex to me, not overly feminine. I wish the blackcurrant opening was not so short lived, I miss it when it’s gone.

Kizzyb93

Okay, so when I first sprayed it, I did overspray it and it really wasn’t that pleasant at all. However when I did go back to it again, I literally did about 2 spray and wow wow it is really good not sure if it’s worth the money …. The name is a bit misleading to be honest, because I find it quite a cosy scent due to the tobacco. DONT OVERSPRAY

Anabee

I only tested this, never owned. It’s not for me, but I like this smell very much! It’s indeed comforting and cozy. It reminds me of a kitchen in a cozy summer house. Lots of freshly picked fruit on the table and a large vase with sunflowers. The door to the patio is open and sun is shining in. This scent doesn’t smell like luxury per se, but it smells like what a perfect day in summer would smell like. A day where you’re just content with your life and happy. It’s a quiet, content happiness, nothing flashy or loud.

smellslikecoffee

I sprayed this on a drizzly day in early spring. And wow! What a great opening. Instant sunshine! I love it! 😁

After that: warm coziness. I suppose it's the vanilla. Like the sun is warming things up. Really nice! 🤗

Bùt unfortunately also something synthetic. I hugely dislike this. It puts me off. Like getting into a car with a plastic interior and one of those air fresheners dangling from the rear view mirror. 😖 Why??

The drydown is nice. I like the tabacco, but not the juniper. Too cold. Reminds me of aftershave. On drizzly days like this, I prefer 'sunshine' all the way. And perhaps something warmer, more woody or leathery in the drydown.

I understand the quality of this scent. It's really a 'journey'. Amazing how notes 'come and go'. I also really enjoy the 'test ride'! 😃

And I can understand how this may work great in other weather or on other people!

I'll try this again in different (warmer) weather. Maybe this works out better. Or perhaps my husband likes it. 😊

VMonster

First impressions for my reference: powdery play-dough with aromatics in the background. Nothing I would obsess over but it's not unpleasant. I must confess I prefer affordable frags to niche and have yet to find any niche scent worth its price tag to me and my life/wallet.

snoopy2

This is one of those perfumes where if you smell it right on your skin, it’s not pleasant. But 6 or more inches away, it’s lovely. A sweet tobacco Osmanthus radiates around you. It is reminiscent of dried apricots.

marchat

I am not a fan of this. I don’t know how to describe it, but it is definitely not for me. I will say though, that 1. It is different than anything I have smelled and 2. It projects like crazy and the longevity is insane (I cannot get the scent out of my room). There is something off-putting about it but I cannot pinpoint it.

saccitygrl01

I wish I detected the notes described here by other reviewers but this one doesn't work for me. On my skin it is a mix of a playdough/papery/starchy scent and a hot stone smell--imagine the way the air smells while standing on a flagstone patio at a home located in the mohave at around 2PM.
Its not unpleasant but its not pleasant--another way to describe it--it reminds me of the scent from the mix of chemicals volatilizing from construction materials in the building supply section of Home Depot.

millieradish

After wearing for a full day I feel like I can finally review this fragrance! To be honest, the opening scared me a little. I think the artemesia, almonds, and osmanthus really stood out. It was almost sharp, and quite unexpected. However, the dry-down was gorgeous!! I really get the vanilla, jasmine, and white tobacco, and I think it's not so much a scent you wear in the dead of summer, but more like that precious 10 minutes of unexpected sunshine in the middle of winter. In early march air, this scent is crisp, fresh, yet incredibly warm. Today was a very sunny but cold windy day, and I think this smells exactly like that!

max.wassermann

Just arrived this beautiful falcon:) What can I say just from the beginning is that it super similar to TF Bitter Peach 🍑 I like it :)

victoriabarretta

This one confuses me because I will think I can’t smell it, even though when initially sprayed it’s strong. I don’t feel like I’ve got a scent bubble that follows me, but then I’ll smell something great 30 minutes later and remember it’s me lol

It reminds me of BR540, not the scent but how it performs.

The smell itself is interesting. I like the dry down most. The middle is minty tobacco (I hardly get fruit) which isn’t really my vibe - but it stands out and still pulls feminine to me.

I need to play with this one more!

perfumesniffer

huh. not what I expected. sort of a minty fresh tobacco with aldehydes. not for me but it has character.

Sophia97

This fragrance is pure sunshine. It’s warm yet light, slightly floral. A blind buy that I absolutely do not regret .

Ani Calas

Help! I got a decant of Sunshine Woman and kept coming back to it until it grew on me to the point of obsession. So I ordered a full bottle. To my dismay, it smelled nothing like the decant. Nothing. Thinking it was a faulty batch, I returned it and ordered it from another company. Same thing. Muted, flat, no fruit, no sweetness, zero character. A barely there scent. Again, I returned it, and, like a fool, tried one more time. No go! Tried another decant. Nope. I started to wonder, what was REALLY in the original decant? I must have it! I’m desperately awaiting a decant of Sunshine Man, hoping there was a mix-up in the pour. If it is SM, I’m still screwed; it’s been discontinued. I’m scratching my head though. So many reviewers are raving about Sunshine Woman, just swooning. If what they have smells like my original decant, I’m in full agreement. But the bottles I bought (from reputable companies) smell like sweaty bandaids dipped in a very faint oud. I am sad, confused, and at a total loss. The great mystery of my life: WHAT WAS IN THE ORIGINAL DECANT? I may never know…

AmBo

I love this. Initial spray is a little harsh, but it softens into a buttery persimmon. I see late August fields of wheat, sun shining on the stalks and dust motes floating up into this whispy pale-blue sky.

gourmandnotes

I actually revisited this scent after allowing it to macerate for over a year and wore it out this winter evening. I must say, it's a whole lot different than from what I remembered it being as, a suede-heavy, nauseatingly cloying playdoh, with a slight tinge of something smoky and terpenic. It was the olfactory equivalent and visual of spooning warm Mayo that sat in the car under the sun into your mouth.

Fast forward to this evening, it's deliciously sweet, apricotty, suede-ish floral. I was immediately reminded of the plummy & silky suede notes found in Chloe Nomade Absolu. In fact, I think they're almost like cousins. Very feminine, voluptuous. With that said, I do not associate "Sunshine" with sunshine at all but this is more of a cultural upbringing that I equate citrus fruits with sunshine rather than osmanthus and black currants. I still think it's more autumnal-leaning than summer, but can be do-able in summer weather perhaps not exactly in dry heat. Absolutely gorgeous.

Perpetual Collector

I agree with Aray's review of Sunshine (scroll further down). I have this and I wear it occasionally, but it is hardly ever appropriate for the hot Phoenix Arizona sun, even in "winter". It is beautiful, but chokingly so. Zero beachy vibes, summery freshness or anything alike. I'd hate to be close to someone wearing this in hot weather.
If anyone is getting beachy, summery feels from it and testing from a sample vial, they should check their sample and possibly repurchase from a different source. If you are spraying from a bottle, then it could be turned or fake. Sunshine is as heavy as a rock. A pretty rock, but a rock nonetheless !

Raluko111

It's interesting how we live in a world where we no longer tolerate different opinions and have to get on any platform available to trumpet our beliefs as though they are facts and trash anyone else who dares dissent from our narrow point of view. Relax, aray, it's just a perfume. No need to get your panties all in a bunch over it.

dcjimr

Beautiful. I get a tea note, although there is none listed...must be the combo of cade, papyrus and tobacco. It doesn't seem terribly summery to me, but would be lovely in spring and autumn.

Scissorslizardspock

Stunning packaging, bottle, quality. Amouage does not mess around it seems.

As others have mentioned - the fragrance itself doesn’t necessarily evoke sunshine or summer… this is a baroque fall/winter highly blended number in my mind. I do get occasional sniffs of tobacco, berries, something vanilla-almond sweet. I appreciate this. It’s opulent and interesting and somewhat unexpected, as Amouage fragrances seem to be. As my personal taste is a bit more minimalist, they tend not to work for me. But a girl can flirt with opulence now and then, right?

JuliaZJulia

My nose can't smell 'fruity' at all. I smell tobacco and almond; the fragrance is smokey and mysterious - at least that's how I picture it, definitely no association with the summer. Make no mistake it's a unique and complex fragrance that I really like, but there is nothing 'sunshiny' about it, at least to me. I could say that it stays on the skin for good 7 hours, but the projection is not that great and not too many people compliment unless they are in a very close proximity. Overall lovely scent, very expensive though.

Sniffathon

With a name like Sunshine I was expecting a fragrance capturing the high heat of summer. While it is still a sunshine-y fragrance, I believe it is more suited to a sunny spring or autumn day.

My first experience with osmanthus was Maison Crivelli’s Osmanthe Kodoshan which left quite the negative impression that when I first tried Sunshine I couldn’t stomach it.
Now testing it after some time off I can smell the osmanthus for what it is and it is beautiful in this fragrance. This is a warm almond and fruity fragrance, a touch of floral and a touch of depth in the base notes. I’m grateful I can’t pick out the patchouli. And the white florals are merely there as back up and not as the star.
It turns out quite soft and a little “clean” smelling which I love as I don’t look for huge projection.
It’s quite unique and absolutely lovely which is surprising considering my usual tastes. Would consider a bottle!

FairyScent

I can't stop smelling this perfume when I have it on my wrists! I feel a subtle mint in it. For me, this is a young, heartwarming perfume. Gourmand, yes, but not cloyingly sweet like most gourmands out there. A gourmand that's on the fresh side.

I totally love this perfume and hope to get it in my collection one day. If anyone from EU has it and wants to sell, please leave me a message.

Janetseng

My bottle has been sat there for two years and no, i still don’t get the beauty of this! All i can is almond and this weird floral smell!!!!!! I don’t know what to do with the bottle tbh

Miss Kittens

This bottle perfectly matches the scent mood. It's a unique sweet almond vanilla with a gorgeous osmanthus flowers. I don't know why but to me it smells like bee pollen. This is truly unique, joyful summery scent. Not a safe blind buy.

Kanutten

Absolutely not what I expected from the name and the colour of the bottle. Name and bottle is misleading. Definitely a fall and winter scent for me. Do I like it`? -Love it!! Very nicely blended so I have trouble differentiating the notes. The only note that really stands out to me, is the tobacco. It's a smooth tobacco scent without any sharp edges. I was almost sure there was some myrrh in here as well, but I guess what I smell is the tobacco mix. Fragrantica doesn't list davana, but other pages do, and I believe it's in here. It does share something with Tubereuse Mystique, other than the black currant. I like them both, but this is so much better.
This is what cozy luxury smells like. It's a lovely, lovely fragrance.

Nikkicousinp

Wow! I was not expecting this to be as good at is it is. Smells fruity and feminine, the perfect scent for Summer, Autumn and Winter for sure. Not a unisex fragrance though, smells quite feminine to me. But hey, if you're confident, you can rock anything! Immediately, I pick up the tobacco and the black current, which makes it so tasty and unique. And, it's one of the very few fruity tobacco fragrances that is intoxicating.

emilymonroe1

WOW! This one smells very inviting to me! A really pleasant perfume that makes me smile. With osmanthus, I get a lot of apricots and vanilla, with almonds and white tobacco providing a lovely edge. It's like having sunlight in a bottle. Apricot delight, sweet and delicious. Longevity is exceptional, whereas Projection is mediocre. The presentation is fantastic! Excellent and elegant.

aray

Definitely NOT a summer scent. I’m in disbelief anyone would describe this as “fresh” or “beachy”. It’s warm, smoky, borderline gourmand and super cozy. Silage is not great but it does last close to the skin. I kind of adore it.

MadMadCat

This opens with a weird mix of sweet fruit and sharp/bitter flowers, plus vanilla, like a witch concoction of strange elements. There is also a savory note in the background I can't pinpoint (juniper? artemisia?) Maybe the name comes from this hint of saltiness, like a beach, but it is not a beachy scent at all, nor particularly sunny...It's quite difficult to define or describe, in my opinion. I'm so confused that I can't even tell if I like it or not at this stage. As it dries the tobacco becomes more prominent and mixes with the flowers, which are still bitter and a bit passed their prime.
After 30 minutes I am starting to make up my mind. I don't really like it. It's fruity in a decaying way, gourmand but not really, there is something that reminds me of acid milk or yogurt. My nose perceives it as an olfactory cacophony and while I don't hate it, I don't like it either.
The dry down is sweet and bitter at the same time, quite generic.

SaraZigova

Something really botters me i think it's that white tobacco😬

Freorose

My scent adventure: review for my memory.
I really love this.

Spraying it on, it smells like a balmy summer evening, sitting in the garden, fresh from the shower with a bowl of butterscotch icecream and a glass of SSB.

Ten hours later, I can still smell it. It's a bit powdery now and the sweetness is less crisp, more of a cuddle up on the couch in cotton pj's.

It's a comforting and content. It makes me feel pretty and quietly confident.

For daily use, work and family/friends outings. Not for dates: it's not sexy enough.
Perfect for Spring and Autumn, Summer provided it's not too scorching.

RubyMint

I love this one!

The osmatnthus to me smells like dry apricots, which when combined with the black currents and almonds, is super nostalgic to me personally.

This fragrance reminds me of being a kid, it's just so comforting and carefree.

Personally, for me, this is more of a fall time fragrance than a summer one, it's not very fresh or light, it's quite warm and cuddly.

PKSMKE

Forget that the bottle is yellow and has a little sun symbol on the front. This is not a sunny summertime scent. Yes, it has some vanilla and white florals to lighten the accord, but this is definitely a suede-and-tobacco scent. The almond is not very prominent to me. I think you could wear this anytime other than summer, day or night.

Tay_huggs

I have no words. This perfume is horrible.

Nosey Nelli

Unpopular opinion: but I hope this can help some noses out there... after watching countless reviews, and considering this a safe blind buy based on my love of so many Amouage creations, I picked up Sunshine. I really tried with this one. I let it rest, I wore it for a few days to give it a chance and it was just not working with my skin. I thought I would eventually get the base notes on the drydown and the offending stench would dissipate. All I ever got were wet cigarettes and decaying flowers in old vase-water. Maybe it went off in the mail? I don't know, I didn't pick up on any of the feel goods as enjoyed by others. I did try it in the winter and in the spring but got the same results. I would urge anyone interested in this one to test it first. I really wanted to love this one. Big disappointment from one of my favorite houses :(

Raluko111

This is a beautiful, fresh summer perfume with beachy vibes that is easy to wear and would please almost anyone. My issue with it is the poor silage and longevity at that price point.

Shushanik

This is amazing! My favorite Amouage so far! It’s powdery, aldehydic in a good way. Modern. The apricot is the most prominent note. I would consider this to fit in any age groups, unlike other Amouage scents.

saltydennis

It smells like a very dry and sunny day. You’re in somewhere like a desert and eating some summer fruits and rolling some tobacco. A summer fragrance with a different DNA. I’m glad that I found this fragrance I was bored from all that smell like lemon zest.

OTA Mom

Very heavy on almond and black current. While the concept in no way brings actual sunshine to mind, this is pleasant enough, albeit leaning synthetic.

taurusenergy

This scent is very true to the notes. I wish I got more tobacco and less baby wipes though. I love powdery scents, but certain aroma chemicals intended to read as "powdery florals" read as straight baby wipes to me. If you share this problem, you probably will dislike this perfume. I think the almond note is slightly playdoh-y and that emphasizes that baby wipe aspect. Disappointing for me.

gourmandnotes

I had high hopes and was anticipating to blindfully love this because the bottle is so cute, the notes are unique and interesting, and one of my favorite fragrance youtubers loves it as well. But I'm with the others who find it a challenge to like, depending on the context/temperature. To me, this can work either as a summer or autumn perfume.

So on one hand, this immediately came into mind as a potent version of Alaia's Alaia (black bottle), amping up the suede note. In fact, I wish this was how Alaia smelled like. In cooler temps, "Sunshine" evokes buttery suede fresh out of the tannery that has been treated with a luxurious scented makeup powder... which smells like almond-sharp play-doh. There's also something in here that reminds of me ylang-ylang as well, with its animalic and oily facets, which kinda works with a fantasy image of suede and is totally perfect for an autumn vibe.

Now for the summer heat waves, I can also easily imagine this working as a rich floral oil or body butter worn by a rich, well-endowed Emirati housewife. Like you are the millionaires' Millionaire and this is the signature you wear. And by that, I mean you would need to possess the personality and confidence to carry this off, because it's Amouage, of course.

sparklyunicorn

Update: This perfume was so confusing to me, I was thinking it had gone off in the mail. But I think I have come to realize that this is very similar to Lalique Le Parfum. At first I did not believe it, but it somewhat is! So weird... but yeah, it is more herbal than I realized at first. But sweeter!

This to me was a very 'safe' fragrance that smells kind of designer (sickly sweet) and not something that I wanted to experience from this specific brand.

stardenise16

Smells very herbal in my opinion, so disappointed in this one.

Lolo79S

Cathped

Not too impressed. Very perfumey in the drydown. Musky. Forgettable.

KarinaSo

I usualy don't like powdery scents but this is good :) I get leather, almond vanilla, some green herbs and juniper. Definately not for everyday for me, but for special calm, relaxed moods on a cloudy summer weekend to stay at home it's perfect 🌿🌼

gweyslabao

The name is sunshine because the notes needs heat to bloom on your skin. Try it on a chilly overcast morning vs hot humid afternoon.

nordhaul

Chirpy, immatureish, likable scent. If
cute had smell this is it. Smells cute.
I find it familiar tho, very common, so
mainstream. Useful. I deem this safe
to wear around children, like if you’re
a nanny. It’s very POWDERY, as such,
reminiscent of changing diapers 👧👦
like a fresh top-off to a diaper change.
Cute; but I find it to be underwhelming
vibe-clash for me (I’m not around kids)

Mayasuren

A really nice fragrance that a unique woman can pull off. It’s warm, sweet, and edible with a bit of an edge. However I can’t stand it and it makes me nauseous :(

a_va

It’s really sunshine in a bottle! It is a very uplifting perfume which gives me very good vibes.
The only thing that disappointed me it’s the weakness in longevity.
It is my first amouage. Memoir woman will be my next buy. Hope that one will last.!!!

christinky

The main takeaway from all these reviews is Sunshine Woman is not a safe blind buy. I'm glad I only have a decant because I can't make up my mind about it. I think I should like it because I love the juniper and papyrus and I am a wearer of niche and one who appreciates unique perfumes. However, after wearing a few times, I'm still conflicted. I'm not getting many florals aside from tobacco blossom, and certainly no magnolia as I know it (I live surrounded in Magnolia Grandiflora). It must be quite different on my skin than it is to those who describe it as sweet and creamy. One thing is for sure: I definitely do not like the opening. I find the opening slighly sickening, like a fermenting stone fruit smell, a rotting peach in the grass covered in yellow jackets and baking in the sun, or like peach kombucha, even reminding me a bit of sweat and sickness. But the drydown, sort of mid-drydown is lovely to me. I wore it in high heat and walking around outside I could smell a delightful mid-drydown, somewhat like what I have always been searching for, which is evergreen needles baking in hot sun. I think at this point it might be worth the wait, but then in late-drydown comes and I am conflicted again, because late-drydown is just Play Doh. I remember tasting Play Doh as a child, and I sort of feel a little queasy, because the Play Doh smell is reminding me of what is was like to taste Play Doh. Plus, I'm a grown woman who doesn't want to smell like Play Doh. Anyway, I won't write it off forever because tastes can change, but I certainly won't purchase a full bottle, especially at that price.

brokesta911

Amouage Sunshine (2014) - leather tobacco - #sidonielancesseur and @cchonguk creates an Osmanthus (suede-like floral), Almond and White Tobacco accord that is definitely unique yet delicious. It’s rounded by Vanilla and a host of pine and herbal accords. Another versatile fragrance that morphs different during the summer humidity.

Vanian

Love from first sniff ❤, although it is not a new smell for me, I simply love it. It strongly reminds me of Giorgio by Georgio Beverly Hills mixed with good delicate tobacco flower note (this is first time I experience tobacco flower note in fragrance,
before that I knew the smell only from the real tobacco flower plant, or at least what I remember the smell was, and could say it is very nicely presented in here) Heavenly beautiful fragrance and a full bottle worthy. Very long staying power. Review based on sample from Amouage online site.

ap528

Very pleasant and sunny! There is something about this scent that right away makes you think of sun rays in the afternoon, and hot, tropical weather. Makes me smile! At first its a total burst of fruity, floral, oriental scent. Top notes are blackcurrant mixed with mango, jasmine and maybe gardenia, then the oriental notes start to take over. But, at the end, all the bitterness and sharpness wears off within an hour and you're left with CREAMY, fruity and floral scent. I like it, worth a try (maybe order a sample first). I like it, but not in love. Not sure if I would wear this often, probably more on a vacation.

Zyta.id

This scent is what I would imagine a Royal Arabian woman would smell like. The dry down is addictive. The opening will be a bit shocking to people who never smell strong scent, but after a few minutes it becomes sweeter, and after few hours it smells deeper, a bit incense smell with sweetness, that's when it becomes addictive to be sniffed. Love it.

AoiUsagi

The opening on me is an interesting mix of bitter, powdery, and vanilla. The bitterness has an almost rubber/plastic quality to it. It's not something I'd choose to wear, but I do find it unique. The bitterness fades in about an hour, allowing just the slightest hint of both blackcurrant and osmanthus to come through, and then it's a powdery vanilla scent for the rest of the day. It doesn't say "sunshine" to me at all, it's more like eating a vanilla tootsie roll on a cloudy day.

wondervalley666

A strange scent... Upon first test spray I didn't really pick out anything I liked about it. As it dried down, it left my skin with a sticky sweet and savory oriental aroma. I thought it made my skin smell like chinese food - like a savory almond noodle dish, maybe with a splash of soy sauce or sesame oil, which I later attributed to the almond note. I have some other almond frags I like but this is super savory and nutty. The patchouli in this isn't the usual kind of patchouli I hate, but an herbal savory gourmand spicy type of patchouli, feels edible. I tried to give it a proper wear, but right away it seemed very synthetic. It has a waxy papery note that again, makes me think of food but not in a sweet gourmand way. More like an almond chicken savory dumpling on waxed paper. It doesn't make me think of sunshine at all, unless the name of the takeout restaurant is "sunshine chinese." I LOVE chinese food, but I don't want to wear it as a perfume... I also love some "oriental spice" type scents, mostly woody musky spicy scents, but this isn't quite like any of those.

I get a hint of floral, but I can tell it isn't my favorite floral. I tried a couple of other magnolia frags recently and they didn't do it for me, so I suppose that just isn't *my* flower. Overall, the scent when fresh on clean skin has a waxy silly putty-like scent that dominates the florals and other notes. It seems to turn more savory the longer I wear it/the more I heat up. The performance seems weaker than the vote average here - I sprayed 6-8 sprays an hour ago and it's gone so faint I can only smell it up close. I think some people might like this scent, unfortunately it isn't for me.

When Amouage is good, it is very, very, exceptionally good. When it is bad, it is a horrid let-down. Sunshine is an Amouage scent that left me cold, despite the name. In a nutshell, it is a synthetic floral mish-mash on a sweet marzipan background. The name is an odd choice in my opinion - it does not feel like a warm weather scent. Sweet gourmands are wintertime fare in my book, while the marzipan-like almond note reminds me of Christmas cake.

Sunshine opens with sweet, fruity notes, with rich almond present from the get-go. The artemisia smells balsamic and vermouth-like. Apricot-like osmanthus amps up the sweetness, joined by a white floral accord that emerges after a little while. Sweet and synthetic, it is hard to detect individual notes here. It lingers for several hours.

A syrupy vanilla note sustains the sweetness as it develops, but the marzipan remains until the final fade. There is a nice herbal accord in the base that lifts it somewhat as it dries down. However, there is something musty about Sunshine despite the chemical sweetness. Sillage is moderate and longevity is day-long.

Sunshine is an unusual gourmand, definitely polarising. For me, it caught my attention and is undeniably intriguing, but ultimately unpleasant. 2/5.

LMBelvi

Really disliked this. I think it is due to almond and magnolia. Those have been unworkable ingredient for me in the past.

Paravani

Powdery, sweet, papery vanilla scent. Not juicy or sunny... just very sweet, very powdery, smells a lot like a facial powder.

I like sweet scents but prefer a juicier floral nectar character. This one is too synthetic for me.

tessture

Woodier than I expected for a women’s scent, but nicely so, though it teeters on harshly woody way in the back. The harsh wood never takes over, though. I don't get a lot of floral in this, but I do get the reported peachy tobacco feel and it comes across almost like an incense. Overall, this is a bright shiny scent that really does suggest sunshine. It was reminding me of something SO much, then I got it: It's almost exactly the Soft n'Dri deodorant scent I used to love years ago before they discontinued it, called Touch of Aloe, that smelled softly powdery bright pink sunny and very feminine. I usually hate powdery anything, but that scent was lovely and this mirrors it in a way that I find quite pleasing.

feralasparagus

To me, this smells like what an overcast day on a beach in Oregon feels like.

CaAlice

I have a 5 ml decant and I don’t love it. I am very sensitive to tobacco (to me, TF Tobacco Vanille smells like a dirty ashtray with a splash of mulled wine) but had heard this was a very clean and dry take on the note. It still makes me a tad nauseous. Sticky peachy jammy tobacco.

If you want to buy the decant for a good price, I’m in Europe. DM me.

fauxmantis

This smells like a bathroom at a fancy restaurant. A nice, clean bathroom, but still a bathroom.

Holliebobollie

This is not usually something I would go for but I’ve been obsessed with Osmanthus and tobacco lately and I’ve just fell in love! What a happy, warm scent full of sunshine. This could be my new daytime scent. FBW for me. I have a sample and I’ve almost used all of it in one day. I can’t get enough. I only wish It would last longer than a few hours on my skin. Thankfully I live in the Middle East and this is available down the street!

Ella7712

I have to be honest I really don't like the first five minutes of this fragrance, the artemisia makes it really bitter, I wished that the black currant came through more (LOVE black currant in perfumes). But when the top notes settle down and the heart and base emerges it is truly a gorgeous soft creamy slightly spicy peach/apricot scent! 😍 A risky blind buy for me, but luckily a successful one. Still, I would advise to get a sample before you buy (I wasn't able to + I'm also a bit of a risktaker🤪).

Purrplealien

Sunshine is just amazing. I'm at a loss for words when I spray this one on me.

After reading the notes I got a bit confused because I couldn't smell any of the notes. The only one I knew from before was almond, vanilla and patchouli. It's just beautifully blended.

To me it smells like a warm, sun tanned body on a tropical island somewhere. Not a single care in the world, everything is just perfect and you feel at home and at peace.

Jessie James

BEAUTIFUL!!! This perfume is so warm, inviting, bright and makes me feel really happy when I'm wearing it. I'm not going to go into the notes because really, who cares. Everything is blended so beautifully here.

It's winter here in Canada right now and this is the season I find Sunshine works the best. I LOVE it in the winter. It's far too much for the high heat of summer. It's so plush, creamy, fruity and completely different from anything I've smelled before.

I wish this perfume worked better in the summer time because the smell of this really does remind me of the happy feeling you get when the sun is beating down on you. I can't see anyone not liking this. It is for sure summer feels in a bottle. Not in a tropical coconut and pineapple way. I love coconut scents but this is better. It's something special and different.

9/10 for me!

amr99

This is one, for me, where the sillage is where this scent shines. If you push your nose too close to where you spayed it can be a bit abrasive but in the air around you it’s this bright yummy fruity light tobacco. This is one of those scents where I feel people smelling you would interpret this totally different than what you smell being inside the bubble.

At first I was challenged by this, but smelling this as someone’s sillage was wonderful. Could be an indication for me this is better for an outdoor event as opposed to risking making a small space stuffy.

Natblida

Fell out of love with this one. Think I wore it too often, and it became too cloying on my skin after a while. But I am still a huge fan of the fruity/smoky combination, and this one hits that mark very well. If you're in the market for a fragrance full of dried, sugary fruits balanced with a smoky tobacco, this is a good one to try.

sakrosankt

From the first sniff, I was in sudden love. It starts with a ripe apricot that has a certain sweetness, but is not too sweet. More reminiscent of canned apricots than a fresh apricot. Don't let that description put you off though, it doesn't smell artificial because of that. I guess what I mean by that is that the tart aspect of an apricot has been removed. That apricot scent lingers throughout, but becomes a bit creamier over time. The white tobacco gives it more depth, so the scent is never just a playful fruit bomb. This scent makes me smile.

The name Sunshine is very appropriate. It brings a certain vacation vibe without having to use that pesky sunscreen or pina colada smell.

It is long lasting. On the test strip, it's almost as strong the next day as the day before.

Edit: The above was a draft from a few weeks ago. Anyway, it doesn't smell much different on my skin than it did on paper. The durability turned out to be great, though not quite as strong as on the test strip. When I was exercising the next morning and my skin warmed up, the scent was suddenly back (definitely not a scent for the gym).

It is certainly noticeable to the people around me. However, I love strong radiating fragrances, so for me it could be a bit stronger.

floszra

Overpriced peachy tobacco which I tremendously crave with all my heart and flesh. Unfortunate.

iszzieanna

Definitely need to sample this again because it intrigued me. It quite literally smells like warmth and sun. I was testing this on a cold, November day in Canada. Totally not the season for Sunshine but the small bubble I created around myself was lovely and bright. I wasn't expecting such a smokey peach/apricot in the opening. Once this dries down, the tobacco and almonds really come through. I find that the almond and the vanilla really add this lactonic, hand-cream smell but I can't put my finger on what it is. I enjoy this fragrance but it's a strange clash of notes.

globalbombshellbiz

I truly enjoy the fragrance notes listed in this fragrance but, when placed together… it was a hard pass for me.

I wanted to love this.

Try a sample before you buy a bottle!
I’d love to try more from the brand.

Air of Grace

Not sure the name “Sunshine” is appropriate . I would of thought there would be lighter solar notes . Nope !

Abrasive spices yet again with Amouage range . I’m not a fan of offensive spices and I can’t imagine why it’s called sunshine .

Each to their own , I’m a floral lover and love Refiection and Honour Woman .

I do give its longevity is outstanding !! One spray and I couldn’t scrub it off .
Tried three times and it still prevalent.

I’m found my florals with this Perfume House so I’ll be moving on .

violetbelle

Slightly difficult opening, with an obscure prettiness I can't describe due to its quick submission to woods and smoke. Later, a lovely (if shy) vanilla appears. Wood and smoke lend such a dry quality here that it pulls more masculine and vintage than I enjoy wearing. No flowers, no real sweetness. I don't dislike it. In fact, aside from a less smooth development, it makes me think of Nirvana Amethyst midway and Cartier Must Gold in the late dry down, both of which I prefer.

okamikiera

This is a strange one for me. Started cloyingly sweet and tropical, but now I'm getting the nutty almond but in an artificial strain. Perhaps amaretto would have worked better, as there is a bitter note I can't get past.

Balushi

The opening of sunshine is boozy and fruity, the blackcurrant is prominent, with herbal boozy dried fruit like davana and slight nuttiness. Then it moves to a floral heart with fruity peachy Osmanthus and apple-like magnolia sweetened by vanilla. The tobacco appears later before moving to a herbal leathery base with noticeable papyrus.

chromatica

This one smells so cozy to me! A truly comforting scent that brings a smile to my face. I get a lot of apricots and vanilla with osmanthus, while almonds and white tobacco give it a nice edge. It's literally sunshine in a bottle. Normally I don't like overly sweet scents but Sunshine is perfect, I could literally butter myself with it like a toast and feel like the hottest toast ever. No drama here, only pure joy. Sweet fruity apricot joy.

Longevity is extraordinary in winter, average in summer. Stays on clothes until I wash them. Projection is average, I'd say.

Mademoisellejaimie

I'm really happy I purchased a decant of this instead of blind buying it. All I get from this is Osmanthus and a hint of vanilla. It's simply not doing it for me.

dani78

I adore this scent and it is my signature this summer but I've got one major problem with it - it doesn't last/project at all.
I need to drown myself in it and reaplay every hour or two, just to be able to smell it.
Last time when I wore it, I was attacked by wasps (wasps detect it somehow and love it 😀), and I told my friend, who was sitting close to me "Oh, that must be my perfume that attracts them!", and she was like "What perfume, I can't smell anything". 🙄
I mean, it won't be a problem with something more affordable but when you pay an arm and a leg for it, it's just no good.
Apart from that, it's the most delicious, ripe and juicy apricot, followed by a gentle breeze of tobacco... Absolute summer dream, a garden of Eden! 💛

HotSouth

Based on all the reviews and notes I thought I was going to love this fragrance. I got a sample and I"m so glad I did. On my skin it opened with sharp eye watering smell. I couldn't wait for the dry down so I could experience all the magic other reviewers experience but it never happened for me. So happy I didn't spend the money for a big bottle.

Sreza7

This is quite nice. It’s fruity and sweet in the opening with blackcurrant and apricot tinged Osmanthus. I don’t get any almond. Then it turns slightly dry/fuzzy, probably from the white tobacco and papyrus and patchouli. They give this the depth it needs to make it stand out from being just another fruity floral. It is delicious and smells almost juicy. Juicy and dry at the same time. Not sure if it’s FBW.

marymag

Pretty and easy to wear. Best for spring and early autumn.

At first, smells like a honey cinnamon peach tart cooling on the counter. The florals are more present as it dries down, lightening the sweetness. There’s something comforting and familiar about this fragrance, but I can’t place it.

RottigrlNYC

I really love this one, but I still have not had a chance to buy a bottle yet. Can someone please tell me is that
Osmanthus I smell as the dominant note? Oh this is such a beautiful perfume. I can’t stop smelling myself. As soon as I finish my decant, I will buy a full bottle at a discounters. There is never any reason to pay over $200 for any authentic Amouage.

Bopha85

Delightful and sunny apricot start to the frangance but on my skin the drydown becomes a tobacco type scent with a faint apricot undertone. I love tobacco fragrances but this did not sit well with me.

jnguon

I really like it but it’s too strong for me, gives me a headache.

Natalied

Does anyone have this in the new bottle?
I feel like the fragrance is not as strong as it used to be…

cathrinejohanne91

I like this. But on me this smells like Zadig & Voltaire This Is Love!
I own Zadig & Voltaire this is love and as soon as I got home I sprayed it on my other arm. And there it was, the same smell as Sunshine. I can’t even tell the difference between them. I asked my friend if she noticed any difference between them and she couldn’t.

But Sunshine smells very good, it has an amazing longevity. ☀️ Is it worth the money? No absolutely not.

AnnaElli

I was looking forward to this fragrance as I love osmanthus. And the first sniff did not dissapoint. I really enjoyed the initial sweet fruity peachy note of osmanthus, truly reminded me of sunshine. But after a minute smoky and earthy notes came in, that for my nose did not mix well in the rest of the blend and the sunshine was gone just like that. Totally ruined for me. The harsh smoky note completely took over, the osmanthus was gone, just some white flowers left lingering in the background. So to sum it up, not a fan.

ghkim

This is such a strange fragrance. It is sort of peachy but not like a real fruit. The tobacco is there and keeps it from being a refreshing summer scent. It's slightly nutty, slightly planty, slightly smoky, slightly fruity - complex and layered, not at all airy and effervescent. I don't love smelling like this but I do wear this fragrance because it is so cerebral and thought provoking. Definitely not a safe blind buy.

Cristidarling6387

This is a beauty. This is a somewhat linear osmanthus heavy fragrance to me. Starts off as a spiced apricot preserve. Sweet , spicy ,gooey , the spice dissipates and it becomes straight apricot jam. Sticky and sweet. The texture starts to change and this is the apricot is in its full fruit glory. Fresh and fuzzy in texture. My favorite part of this fragrance.

julheart

Sharp floral and juniper opening. Almost medicinal honestly. But then it becomes kind of a powdery almond floral. I'm really enjoying the almond. Green and woody too. There is a berry note that is nearly a deal killer for me. I don't like the thick fruit pie sense a lot of currant/berry fragrances evoke. But it is under control here.. More like eating an almond tart with a couple of berries on top rather than full on pie.

As with all Amouage it's well put together. And I feel like I'm still discovering it after a couple of wears...

nahmpunch

Smells like a cough syrup in the first spray.
Too overwhelm with almond. Then its dried down to soft white flower - powdery scents.

Not a fan, personally.

missazahar

This smells like stuffy, dirty old clothes for me. I just smell tobacco and something stuffy. Very disappointed. Luckily I bought just a sample!

RainbowGirl

Almond is the main note. A little sweet, and a little fruity. Reminds me of an Amaretto cocktail.

In the middle, I still get almond as the main note, but it's more subdued, and a little floral fresh, but still sweet. You can still smell a hint of that sweet amaretto cocktail.

Projection was more of a skin scent on me, and longevity wasn't great, but I only used a dab from a small tester. This could have better performance when sprayed on your clothes and in your hair.

This was my first Amouage testing, and I was a little... underwhelmed. I wish I had gotten the juniper berry, or the sexy apricot, that the reviewer below experienced. That sounds like a fabulous fragrance!

A beautiful and fun summer fragrance. A must try for almond lovers.

PGak

This was a blind buy and I am so happy (and relieved) this is a win for me. It will be my summer scent! I’m obsessed and addicted. I tend to favour dark, heavy, spicy oriental scents (even in the warmer months); I am that woman wearing TF Noir Extreme at the beach for reference!

Sillage is amazing - I smell this all day long. And longevity is phenomenal - it stays in my hair and on my clothes until washed. On skin, easily 10 hours. This is by far the highest quality perfume in my collection - really stands head and shoulders above the rest.

This is how it develops on my skin on a hot day:

- upon application it is bright, green, flowery, with bite

- after a few minutes, it becomes even sweeter (almost sickeningly-so). The “bite” is gone, and the juniper comes out. It smells very sweet floral almost powdery, and pine tree-like (as though you are literally walking through the forest on a hot day). This phase lasts for about 5-10 minutes. The pine tree note is strong and engulfs you. This is my least favourite part of the scent.

- the flowery sweetness transforms into apricot jam. Still bright. No more juniper/green. No more powderyness. Sweetness is still coming from the fading florals; overall it is bright apricot jam. This phase lasts around 10-20 minutes. It’s beautifully feminine and youthful and yummy and fruity. (And on fabric, this is the phase in which it remains).

- THEN the magic happens - and THIS is why I am obsessed with Sunshine.... the almond comes to the forefront and you can smell the heat (YES you can literally smell the scent warm up). All florals, green notes and brightness are gone, and you are left with a warm, heavy, creamy - almost lactonic - apricot. Imagine warm vanilla cream mixed with ripe steaming apricot purée. And this lasts and lasts - there is nothing “perfumey” left and this is where Sunshine becomes all woman and all gourmand. This is naked, sun drenched skin radiating the scent of warm milky apricots. This is sunshine and sex in a bottle.

tulpe

Don’t try this in winter. This opens with all this beauty in summer. Seriously i was thinking meh nothing interesting and left my decant. But wen i tried this is warm summer day, it opened differently and i seem to like it a lot. Got so many positive compliments from others.

Adjames

Okay so here it is......this smells like the warmth of sunshine - not the brightness of sunshine. If one thinks of how the sun smells while beating down on summer skin, drenched with an almond scented sun lotion after wearing a patchouli parfum hours before while eating apricot jam and sitting near a live tobacco plant - sweet, slightly spicy, smooth and smoky.

To me, the florals and artemisia balance the fragrance, while the osmanthus adds more apricot fruit which is always present.

The white tobacco leaf adds a sweet and smoky, dried fruity booziness while the papyrus, sheer woods. It is like a touch of dried beach wood is in the background, adding a smoky, and maybe a beach-like quality.

Make no mistake - this is not a light and airy, but more a rich fragrance that could be cloying if over sprayed. Can be worn year round and most occasions. Not girly - more mature. Perhaps more warm and friendly rather than formal event.

All in all, a long lasting, smooth and fruity floral that is comforting and to me, actually sexy IMO. I was noticed in a good way the first time I wore this because it projects and encourages self contentment. One spray is enough in the heat. That makes this like sunshine.

andrUTZA

This is a big disappointment for me since lots of people seem to like it. I expected something complex and multidimensional like Amouage always does but in stead all I got was a cloying vanilla-almond perfume with that note of tabaco which made it even more unbearable. I expected to smell the green notes but they where not there. This reminds me somehow of Allure, but Allure is far better because it has some white flowers and citric notes which make it more delicate .

LinaSVas

The aroma of the osmanthus is so potent I can smell it from the atomizer, so I was very excited for a beautiful peach-like scent.
It smelt the same on paper as it did on my skin - the notes that my nose picked up were the "Artemisia" which was very green and herbal, the "Osmanthus" was fresh and the "Tobacco flower" which was very wet like smokers breathe.
All the notes are so well blended together that without concentrating on the notes my brain insists that I am smelling rotting cabbage or the boozy tobacco breath of girls who wore fruity shampoo and white floral perfumes in the smoking areas at London night clubs I have been to.
They the scent last 3 days on my skin (through washes it got weaker) and filled the entire room that I got reactions: people that complimented me thought I smelt sweet and fruity or sweet almondy and smoky. the people that noticed a smell just said it was herbal or boozy/tobacco and if someone did like it the didn't say anything (but I did see a nose wrinkle).

macy_5

After I bought it and wear a few times, i recognize that it is quite gourmand on my skin, it did not smell that gourmont on a paper. I specially liked this parfume because of tobacco note and smokines, but on my skin on temperature around 20° C, after 2 hours, I smell mostly vanilla with a little almond. But the perfume on my leather jacket stayed a few days very similar to the opening/ a little after opening, where you could smell mostly tobacco and osmanthus.

Mirjammm

what a disappointment. I smell cloying dry warm vanilla with a hint of tobacco. I associate this perfume with elderly smoking ladies or, as I read below, cheap car freshener, indeed.

Emma92

So wanted to love this one (and did on the card) but on me the tobacco went ashy after about 10 minutes. Such a shame. I hope others have more luck, as it would make a great summer scent. I wouldn't blind buy this.

redvelvety8

I guess if you are a smoker you would love this one since it's really heavy on the tobacco note. It doesn't remind me of the word sunshine at all. I had high hopes for this one but good thing I only purchased a sample and not the full bottle.. I don't get the hype and I wouldn't blind buy this one

mapache

This one...takes a little time to fully enjoy/appreciate...IMO.
Again....like with Sunshine for men, I don't "get" the name..Sunshine...???
The opening seems a bit "typical"...then the notes start developing on the skin and you can get the full idea of this scent.
Apricot-ish...aromatic....herbal-ish....with the added florals..yes....magnolia/jasmine....but dry.....and the touch of almonds.....papyrus/juniper/patchouli/white tobacco for balance and support. I would like a tad more almond vibe.....
Performance is....well.....so far..."so-so". I expect more from this house and price range. (?)
I do like this scent....but further wearings are necessary to discover it's potential.

Another versatile fragrance that morphs different during the summer humidity.

excuse.my.sillage

I really really really want to like this one but it gives me a cheap car air freshener scent. T_T
So glad I sample Sunshine Woman first and didn't blind buy it. I just gave myself a pat on the back for that.

macy_5

My last love. It is first on my wish list. A little sweet like fruit, it is more unisex, than girly sweet, i get apricot, almond right away, a little tobacco on drydown. Has a good balance between sweet, spicy, a bit of fruity fresh. Gives a feeling of 'I am not trying too hard, I am just perfect as I am..' and a bit nonchalant and confident. I like it best among other Amouages I tried: Interlude, Portrayal Love blossom.
It smells best after few minutes, opening is not on point.

Yings_97

I love how this Sunshine smells. Blackcurrant, sweet but not overpowered and herbalic scents mostly from the artemisia and juniper. The staying power is 6-7 hours on me

BaJu

Opening was really nice and promising - I liked black currant and almond notes very much. After half an hour it turned into... nothing special. Just a trace of perfume - very close to skin, I could hardly smell it at all, none of the notes was prominent, nothing really worth of it's price... Sorry, but not my cup of tea. Would give 10 for opening, and 1 for dry down.

mirenaf

This was the first perfume of the brand that I acquired. I actually wanted to buy Honour, but they didn't have 100ml in the perfumery and I had to choose something else. A real adventure began in trying different flavors of the brand, and they are quite, quite difficult. If you are not in a certain mood, they can almost kill you: D
Well, that's how we got to Sunshine, which took me to a warm and specific place ... I wouldn't say an exotic island, no, it doesn't bring me such a mood. Rather Tuscany? Strange yes. I imagine the setting sun over the vineyards. The perfume has an enviable durability and when it subsides it is so creamy, gentle and at the same time has that traditional note for Amouage, a bit nostalgic maybe.

Keziah

I always wanted to try sunshine..
mostly from all the reviewers on YouTube and how it seemed to be in everyone’s collection. I sure didn’t like the price but I went ahead and bought bight it.
It turned out to be okay. I liked it a lot for a couple of weeks but I won’t be using it for sure. I like it but I don’t.. doesn’t make sense. Anyone who wants to buy message/email me: [email protected]. I’m letting mine go.
USA only

Scentimental_

I know this might trigger a lot of die hard amouage fans but the dry down... and I mean the DRYEST of the dryest dry down reminds me of Whispers in the Library ! But a bit spicier.

Annata

On dry down this fragrance reminds me Marfa by Memo Paris which i love it. I wish I’m not the only one who thinks like this.

LightOfJoy

On drydown, this is a much more pronounced and robust sibling of Jazz Club. Very similar, although the opening is more sharp and herbal. I'm not familiar with Artemisia, but the description of the herb sounds like it's what I'm perceiving here. It's not what I expected at all with this fragrance. Once I got over my expectations, smelling this fragrance without the description or the name, it's a lovely perfume. Very unisex.

Magifera

Why did I expect citruses here? Crazy how we associate "sunny" summer fragrances with citrus notes. Definitely not crispy fresh, yet bright and happy fragrance. It does smell like dried fruit but I also detect something dusty and ashy in it....tobacco, is that you? If sunflowers had a scent, it would be Amouage Sunshine.

diaanz81

Sunshine is B E A U T I F U L and reminds me of chewy dried apricots with a light, sweet tobacco flavor to it. The fragrance, however, is much more complex than this simplistic description. Blackcurrant is most evident in the opening, I really wish I got the almonds but it is just too well blended. The stars in this composition are the Osmanthus, which is what comes off as apricot to my nose, the tobacco flower which exudes the cleanest, airiest note of tobacco I have smelled to date and the vanilla, which rounds things off nicely. The other florals are not discernible to me but I do get the papyrus and in the back ground, there is a slightly herbal almost medicinal something going on but somehow it works with this beautiful blend. It's an airy sweet, fruity fragrance but not at all dense or cloying and quite versatile, one that can be worn all year round, according to me.

Sunshine is one I wanted to fall in love with based on all the reviews and the beautiful yellow bottle but I didn't, well not immediately and journey to loving this has been interesting for sure. The fragrances from this house are quite unique and even though, Sunshine is one of the more popular and easier ones to love, my nose was not prepared for it. I liked it but sweet tobacco is what stood out to me when I wanted more apricot pie. Something changed thankfully and even though I still don't get the pie, I get all the apricot-y goodness I need and it is now an absolute love, totally deserving of all the hype IMO. The performance, longevity in particular, is great. I would definitely recommend this especially as an introductory fragrance to this fabulous house.

greygardenswest

I'm normally obsessed with osmanthus fragrances, but this one does not do it for me. was totally prepared to love it, but on my skin it smells like a smoker who has over sprayed themselves with cheap perfume to hide the scent of cigarettes.

Not pretty. So glad that I did not blind buy.

scentofbuket

I am surprised that nobody compared this with Jazz Club Maison Margiela. To me they smell so similar except the dry down and both reminds me of my highschool memories (I am 35 now) - the times I used to wear very cheap supermarket perfumes. I kid you not both of these high-end perfumes remind me one of the cheap high school smells I used to own bringing back the most cheerful memories. In a very good way.

Still not sure if I should buy a bottle of either this or Jazz Club. Guess I will continue using my samplers a bit more and decide later.

Josie_xo

Umm definitely for an acquired taste. Very herbal on me. And this is coming from a lover of sweet florals/gourmands. I can do the occasional fresh/citrus for summer which I thought this would be (despite reading the notes LOL). Think herbal with lots of musk? and almond. Not for me unfortunately!

richechka

🌞 Sunshine 🌞

Powdery apricot, fresh and sweet, literally brings you to another level.
This was the least Amouage I wanted even to test.
My favorite scents were always feminine, soft, fruity but not prominent, rosy, ylang-ylangy and forever elegant, classic.
And the pyramid of “Sunshine” was slightly strange for me:))

A great chance changed everything - and my distrust of some notes and the global awareness that perfume should be chosen not by notes, but by taste. Not with the mind, but with the heart ♥️
Papyrus? Juniper? White tobacco? Who knew it would be so delicious 😃🙏🏻
Beautiful beautiful feminine fragrance, very powdery and warm. Fruity only in the beginning. Opening and base I cannot describe by notes as it is so complete and holistic, but what I can claim is that the composition is just a crazy pure magic 🙌🏻

P.S. I dare to admit that only in base “Sunshine” reminds me of “Gucci” by Gucci but of course as like a shadow, whisper, instant spark ⚡️

Good luck and be inspired 💋

kliiente0415

This is amazing! 😍 I really love it🥰

Aland2020

Another gorgeous creation from Amouage, they really know how to knock it out of the park with this stuff. Sadly, I think I'll be letting go of mine due to poor showmanship of my skin chemistry in the fragrances opening. Now I know that peach is not a listed note but I'd swear that peach Bellini, or more accurately, a peach Bellini flavored syrup of sorts must be present because it's all my skin seems to draw up in the beginning stage of the wearing. It almost reminded me of something Mancera would've released, the kind of sweetness that hurts your teeth. But then, oh the dry down is something sublime. The most luscious vanilla note that Guerlain would love to get their greedy hands on and charge $2k a bottle for an "exclusive extrait." Maybe I even detect a touch of powdered almonds, it creates the perfect balance of sweetness done in impeccable perfumist style. I'm sad that my skin seems to forget about all other notes in this fragrance than ones that conjure up confectionary sweetness, I would've loved to experience the tobacco flower or even the papyrus. Seeing the supposed papyrus note made my brain squirrel over into the realm of layering this with another fragrance, perhaps Le Labo Santal 33? Maybe I shan't give up on this fragrance so soon, back to the drawing board to conjure up some mystical combination that kills the opening to make me forget why I wanted to get rid of it, but then somehow be able to clear the stage for that wonderful dry down that makes me fall back in love and want to reconsider. And how could I physically relinquish that yellow flacon that looks like Sunshine in bottle form?

Stand by for future testing... If I find a combination that works, I shall update with my results. Otherwise, if you see this removed off the haves list, the sweetness was just too much to bear, and perhaps a paranoia-laced dentist appointment was scheduled just to ensure that inhaling this perfume didn't cause cavities by proxy.

There’s a lot of bad reviews of this so I felt the need to say, this is an amazing fragrance and one I’m hoping to have a full bottle of soon—it’s at the very top of my list. Warm, overripe apricots in a shortbread crumble with a slightly masculine, smooth tobacco, and something floral added in to really feminize it. I don’t know if it’s particularly sexy, just GOOD and classy... but I had a man sniff this amongst other perfumes and he said “YES, I would love smelling this on a woman” and he’s not the type that’s into perfumes. This scent just makes me feel good and smells expensive for sure, unlike anything I’ve smelled. I’m glad I don’t necessarily blind buy based on reviews anymore because opinions can be so varied that I might pass up a fragrance that is perfectly suited for me.
