Lumière Blanche by Olfactive Studio is a Woody Spicy fragrance for women and men. Lumière Blanche was launched in 2012. The nose behind this fragrance is Sidonie Lancesseur. Top notes are Cardamom, Star Anise and Cinnamon; middle notes are Almond, Cashmere Wood and Iris; base notes are Sandalwood, Musk, Cedar and Tonka Bean.

“When at the zenith and at its strongest, it gives the world a surreal brightness, a milky aura, and, on its outer edges, the lure of a mirage. It comes in the middle of summer, along an Italian coast. It surprises the bodies, frozen on this milky iceberg, with its dense foam and shrouding immateriality.

A mild and enveloping perfume, Lumière Blanche is a comforting cocoon, between milky mildness and cold spices. It evokes the sweltering heat from the sun at the zenith, which erases colors, leaving only a blinding white hue; it surprises with its spicy freshness. For its creator, “Lumière Blanche is a fragrance with beautifully contrasting hot and cold notes”; a whirlwind of light and freshness followed by milky mildness and a distinct, warm, and sensual end note” — press release of the brand.

I really struggle with this one I’m afraid that I’m nose blind to it, it’s really hard for me to pick any of the notes

ilnomedelliris

I purchased Lumiere Blanche approximately two years ago, but as many perfume enthusiasts and collectors do, it was forgetten in a corner along with other perfumes bought with great enthusiasm. However, today it has everything needed for a belated review, given that the weather is cloudy and foggy, just as the structure of this perfume.
It has a very short-lived alcoholic opening. Within seconds this opening disappears, replaced by a soft, sweet and aniseed florality. Anise, a spice often associated with liquorice, is present in many perfumes, but here it takes the form of delicate flower in a cloud of almond milk mist.
I hesitate to say that the perfume smells like a chai tea latte. Because the woody notes cause a distinct dryness and airiness to the fragrance, and on accasion, the olfactory perception is that new furnitue. In a more precise sense, the aroma evokes that of IKEA's wardrobe department.

Celestya

A soft creamy sandalwood perfume. Appropriate for rainy days, it is a comforting scent. A warm scarf worn on a rainy day... Unisex, complex, original. For information, it is more a skin scent, the projection is small. Office compatible.

woodfreak

just got a bull bottle. clean, creamy, light cardamom. the best way i can describe it is a watered down milky horchata with added cardamom. will use up the bottle pretty faaaaast & make a 10ml little pocket spray to reapply during the day. it stays nicely on clothes but not expecting any compliments due to its tiny sillage & projection. love it nonetheless.

Tinglynose

Genius scent - it's spicy, milky, nutty loveliness threaded through with delicate anise. Enveloping + satisfying.... My signature perfume without a doubt. Thank you, Olfactive Studio!!

impressionistg

This is a great everyday scent. It is clean, fresh and spicy at the same time. The drydown is something unbelievable. Great one if you don't want to offend anyone with your fragrance but you want to smell nice and original.

arilaney

Initially an overpoweringly sharp liquorice smell, but that fades quickly to a blend of woods: smoky sandalwood, bark, cedar, an expensive musk blended well with the almond. Some spiciness in the cinnamon. I smell no floral or sweetness at all. A winter forest and the crackling warmth of a fire all at once; the quintessential cabin hideaway. Stark trees in a white field of snow. It's a very cold scent with complexity, but vanished almost immediately.

PerfumedParrot

This is my favourite from the line. The bottles are meant to look like cameras, which I wouldn’t have noticed if I wasn’t told.

The almond, tonka and musk does make it resemble a better Zadig and Voltaire style. This is a much better alternative to those obnoxious ambroxan skin-scents, as this is neutral, natural, soft and pure smelling.

sleep tight

Smells absolutely wonderful, it's bright and clear and sweetly spiced sandalwood that's like a warm cup of chai. Stays very close to the skin and doesn't last too long.

silvialys

Strong cardamome and anis opening leaving place to a very very mossy scent. Really smells like wet moss in the wood made spicier by the persistency of cardamome over the top and deepest by sweet (tonka) and woody (sandalwood) notes. It's pretty close to Zadig and Voltaire but more natural. Weak sillage, it's a skin scent to me but nice one. Definetely gendefree.

AoiUsagi

I'm currently sampling this from a dabber, so it's quite light, but what I can smell is absolutely wonderful! I'm a big fan of woody iris scents, with L'Oblio being my signature cold-weather scent. This isn't exactly like L'Oblio, which has a salty smokey feeling to it, but both share a soft, transparent quality. This perfume feels more wheaty and creamy, and it's powdery, not like makeup is powdery but like freshly floured bread dough. The spices are very mild, thankfully, I was worried they'd overpower the gentler middle and base notes.

I think I'll try getting a sprayer sample of this to see if I can amp up the sillage, because if I can get it to smell a little stronger this might be a big winner for me.

Natashaps01

Lovely fragrance but lasts only 30 min on me. Sad

Cherry_Darling

Noticeable cardamom but somehow also fluffy and not overwhelming. Great mix with the musk, iris, sandalwood. Not overpowering. Also fresh and juicy somehow I feel some apple note or greenery in here.

This is what I want my study to smell like; Crisp and dry, woody and almondy, powder but yet still fresh and clean. Upon initial spray, I get a lot of powdery green almonds, probably from the cardamom and almonds. The green bitterness dies down quickly to become a finely milled woody powder scent that is dominant in sandalwood and, again, almonds. By no means is this a gourmandy sweet and creamy marzipan-like almond. This is a clean and cool fresh almond that is very dry. I love to wear this on snow days or when it is cloudy and moody in the winter.

ginsengroot

Really lovely spiced almond scent wrapped in cashmere and sandalwood. Feels like wearing the softest white turtleneck in your closet. Unfortunately this lives exclusively as a skin scent from start to finish. If you can find a bottle for cheap, it's possibly worth keeping around as a personal at-home scent, but if you wear this outside you might as well be wearing nothing at all.

spumyland

At the first spray I have in mind the slightly caramelized stevia. Then I have whiffs of spices, anise, almond, tonka bean.
As the name implies, it is bright and clear reminiscent of the cold and snow.
This has a masculine twist with sandalwood and cedar that reminded me of Le labo's gajac.
The sillage and duration are moderate. I don't like cashmeran as a note, but here it stays at bay.
Enjoyable. The reformulation a little less.
Her month: January.

So I received today 10 samples from Mancera and the discovery kit from Olfactive Studio.
I sprayed the 10 Mancera at noon, it is now 8pm and they're still going strong on different papers.

As for the Olfactive ones, I sprayed them directly on their (beautiful) packaging, and they're soooo light in comparison!
Why are they all so damn weak?

It's a shame because this one is great!

Polite, soft, gentle, smooth and creamy.

Could definitely become a signature fragrance.

pweedyadel

This is indeed woody and spicy. The opening was a bit on my face kind of but dried down to this beautiful milky sandalwood. It’s warm, enveloping and cozy. Didn’t choose a better fragrance to test on this cool evening. Wish I was snuggling up to my partner; ‘cos this is what this fragrance does to me 🤗

The Wolf

I blind bought this because I was interested in the concept, I love sandalwood and musk, and the perfumer is Sidonie Lancesseur.
First impression: Love every facet ❤️.Very cool perfumery because the perfumer managed to make this foggy, laconic, watery, creamy, smooth, and somehow cold and warm simultaneously.

This scent matches the photograph of people sunbathing on an iceberg perfectly. It opens slightly buzzy with anise, and cardamom that gives the feeling of cold air and fog - then launches into an almond milk, mixed with coconut milk, sunscreen and a creamy sandalwood vibe. Drydown is white woods and musk.Overall it feels like the color white, and later like bright sunlight, before settling cold.

However, I swear this is one of the worst performing niche fragrances I've ever encountered. ZERO projection, even when my arms are still damp with fragrance! Be prepared to put on 25 sprays for 4 hours if you are lucky. I'm not kidding. Maybe I got a bad batch, idk.
--------------------------------
Summary: GREAT smell, TERRIBLE performance. You will burn through your bottle fast AF like I did, and this stuff isn't cheap. If they fix the performance, I'd buy another bottle.

iris

Sandalwood dissolved in some kind of pear juice, really transparent. A light and mind-refreshing drink that doesn't exist in the real world. Anise for sure denotes "the light" - it just has this physical effect on the senses: clear and just a bit sharp and bitter in the beginning, like the kick from Pastis de Marseille, but without the alcohol part. Also, cardamom. I have encountered a lot of it in perfumes recently, but here it doesn't denote ''spicy": it has the smoothness of chai latte instead, supporting the milkiness of the sandalwood. Everything seems a bit blurry like the liquid itself, edges between notes are fuzzy. Softness is redefined: this is soft without being dull or laundry-clean. I just love how that particular photograph has been translated into a scent.

suzzel

First impression, avoiding reading notes: nice. I expected this to be one of those overpriced niche white musks, curious how/if they'd twist it up.
They did, with something a bit bitter and dry/bracing, no idea what, but feels one of those bitter herb accords. But really well balanced, so it's quite pleasant from the start, and also w/ a freshness I wasn't expecting.

Grefvinnan

When I tested this the first time I did like it, although something in the background was a bit off. Second time i tried it the whole scent felt off. Soft, stale and diluted, and at the same time something sharp and metallic stabbing at my sinuses.

I want to liken it with dreaming when you have a high fever; one second everything is a bit hazy and fuzzy, and the next second you’re half awake with anxiety. You know the androids in Alien movies? I’m imagining that their milky white synthetic blood smells like Lumiere Blanche. Comforting and poisonous at the same time.

It’s an interesting scent, that’s for sure, but I can’t wear it.

IamdrinkingBeer

A lush and comforting scent, perfect for spring and fall, won't offend anyone. If you need something to put when you aren't in the mood for anything, i think this could fill that place. I cant pick out notes here, but i get a little almond and powdery feel. Uber smooth. Nothing like it.

Shaven

This is a very pleasant and comforting scent. I enjoyed its spicy opening with the whiff of cardamom and star anise but it quickly dissipates. As I segue into the next phase, powdery and milky wood wafts into my nose. This perfume seems to be considered as sandalwood forward by some people as its sandalwood note is clearly supported by milky/creamy undertone. IMHO, you will be disappointed if you expected big sandalwood from here because it is quite subtle. Somehow this reminds me of Jo Malone's "Wood Sage Sea Salt", similar in style(subdued woody aroma with creamy feel).

I just wish it lasted longer with better projection. With eau de parfum concentration, it needs to stay on skin more than 3 hours.

SniffingAddict

Very spicy, like peppery and and sharp at the opening. After a while, it settles to a fuzzy, radiant, sandalwood incense vibe.

I like it, though in this family, I prefer the clarity of the Ormande Jayne Xian fragrance.

pweedyadel

Didn’t choose a better fragrance to test on this cool evening. Wish I was snuggling up to my partner; ‘cos this is what this fragrance does to me 🤗

zind

Lumiere Blanche is lovely. It took me some time to appreciate the Sandalwood which I found very aggressive in the opening. LB starts with a blast of sandalwood and spice, but it very quickly dries down to a lovely musky scent with some lingering spices and wood. I smell little almonds compared to what I thought I would, but they are briefly there in the heart phase, when this perfume is at it's best imo. It is, as mentioned, a shy scent without much projection or sillage. Very comforting, perfectly unisex. Very "parent appropriate", it must be nice for a child to smell this on their mother or father. Come to think of it, this would actually be great as a shared signature scent for a couple. A bottle won't last very long though as a heavy hand is needed to really appreciate it.

Loll500

Lovely cardamom spicy chai latte, made with almond milk. Very comforting and appealing if this is what you enjoy - and I do - but so frustratingly elusive and short-lived on my skin. It was FB worthy just for that first luscious burst but at the rate that I have to reapply, it’ll be finished in a month!

Marialina

I was instantly charmed by this. For me it's a sweet, warm, enveloping marzipan-sandalwood-distant coffee, with even a hint of old oak, or an old wood scent I can't quite pin down. It feels like sinking into a big victorian chair at the end of a Christmas party, secretly eating all the marzipan and drinking liqueur while everyone else mills around drunk. It has that extremely warm, gourmand-cosiness to it. On skin it starts very sweet and desserty, with moderate projection, and after a few hours settles into something boozy and woody and slightly more sophisticated. The perfect autumn-winter gourmand.

Christinageor10

Lumiere Blanche is very aptly named as I think of a white light when I smell this. The top notes are warm and spicy with star anise, cardamom, and cinnamon. Then I get the soft and creamy cashmere wood, iris, sandalwood, and musk from the middle notes to the drydown. This is a very light and clean frag, while also being warm and cozy. Beautiful and full bottle worthy. 8.5/10 ❤

Maschka

This is heavenly! I ordered a sample expecting something completely different - scent wise. But I am so positively surprised! Its delicious, but not a gourmand, its fresh, but not citrusy or aquatic, its cozy but not warm. So unique and interesting! Can be an everyday signature scent for sure. Sillage isnt big, but I wear fragrance for myself anyway ;) Definately getting a full bottle!

lala213

When I first tried this, I found it disappointing. This was because I was enamored with the spicy aromatics in the opening, but found that they dissipated very quickly into something less complex, more creamy and woody-vanillic. But day after day, I kept reaching for my sample, until the whole thing was gone. Turns out I am actually in love with this fragrance. It's cozy enough for cool weather, but is never cloying in heat. And I've found that, on me at least, while the spiciness is certainly stronger in the opening, it does in fact hang around, it just becomes more subtle. This dries down into a comforting, intimate, and sensual skin scent. As someone who's migraine-prone, this is ideal for me. I get a bit of the creamy lotion smell others have pointed it out, but I find that so clean and inviting about it. I've ordered a bottle, and it may perhaps become a signature.

venush

I just unwrapped and sprayed it on. A milky, creamy lotion with a drop of undefined spices. May be a splash of freshly brewed coffee lingers around.
Very cozy and soft, like a white feather pillow. A big like from me.

Kristen_Marie183

This does smell like a cold crisp rainy day, a bit like the fresh energizing smell coming from a damp forest floor. But it's creamier it doesn't really go all the way there. I think I need this for an everyday wear it's kind of morose, austere, but cozy? I'm really impressed by this one.

nickyt99

I had to scrub it off. Like cheap coconutty lotion that’s cloying. No cardamom.

citrinemalachite

It smells like damp wood after the rain. It reminds me of the smell of fresh sage and wet earth even though I don’t see those notes listed. It’s got a lovely aromatic woody character. It’s not sweet, but it’s not very dry as many sandalwood fragrances can get. It’s not my favorite sandalwood fragrance but it’s very pleasant. I think I would prefer it as a candle or room scent instead of a perfume.

Avian

Gorgeous, crisp, and mouth-watering cardamom heaped on top of smooth sandalwood and creamy cashmeran+white musk. Little touches of sweet cedar and mild vanillic almond give Lumiere Blanche needed depth. The drydown loses most of the brighter cardamom, sandalwood, and almond, but retains the pillow-soft cashmere and white musk.

Lumiere Blanch is so, so pretty, but it is a personal disappointment. It smells like I am wearing someone else's perfume. It never melts into my skin, it just floats above.

elsamilea

This fragrance is truly special. Was initially very intrigued when I saw the notes, and after reading the reviews I couldn't help but ordering a sample for myself. It was love at first sniff.

The opening is rather spicy and woody; borderline pepper-y. The cardamom and cinnamon (which by the way is an incredible combination) are both very sharp, almost a little too sharp for my taste. I'm feeling some suede as well, which is very enjoyable. Someone mentioned Byredo Sunday Cologne in the opening, and I couldn't agree more.

As the opening dries down, which it does fairly quickly, it becomes very creamy, soft and powdery. The combination of woody, and musky warmth with the cool milk is very interesting. And without exaggeration, this fragrance is so interesting, and I've never smelled anything like it. I would say it's quite androgynous, although definitely more on the feminine spectrum of unisex.

But bare in mind, being a skin scent, the sillage and projection are both very poor. If you're looking for a compliment-seeker, this is not it. It's subtle and quite discrete, at the same time as being very intriguing and sexy when you get a hint of it.
Longevity is also rather poor, as I find myself re-applying it too often (might very well be due to the addictive properties of it...).

For me, this fragrance is perfection. The composition is just wonderful. I was looking for a signature scent, in which I could wear everyday to work without offending anyone. So for me the poor sillage and projection is not at all repelling. I really urge you to try it!

kmccomas23

Cardamom-spicy and almost peppery at first spray. Milky, almond-coconutty heart emerges pretty quickly. Grounded in sandalwood and musk. Well-rounded fragrance that's complex without being heavy. Feels like a safe office/daytime wear.

diondra

On my skin it's all about cardamom and sandalwood on a soft base of almond milk, cedar and a little musk. I really like this - but - the longevity on my skin is poor and the sillage is low. If this was more powerful I would have considered a full bottle. Now it's just a like.

zind

I'm a nut. I struggle with sandalwood, yet I blindbuy this! The reviews got the best of me, and my favorite note is cardamom (plus, it had a pretty good discount on it's pricetag).

First off, yes, I certainly like this. Secondly, I get so little cardamom and milkyness (I might have to get acclimatised to the sandalwood, to be able to smell anything else through it's thick fog). I get about 85% sandalwood, 15% anis/almond/cardamom. Certainly a sandalwood scent, first and foremost. Perfectly unisex too, it doesn't really lean this or that way, but manages to balance right between the sexes - almost a bit androgynous.

The problem with Lumiere Blance isn't so much that it is weak. It's rather that the opening is extremely strong and the drydown is quite intimate. IMO applying tons is quite unbarable (I tried just that an hour ago, and I am finally able to breathe). Much stronger than I expected from the reviews and it feels like it is projecting fine.

Once upon a time I owned a Mystic shop in my hometown. I imported mysore sandal soap bars. People went crazy for that shit. I never got it. People in general seem to adore sandalwood. Except me, I hated that soap. And when people looked at me in exitedment and exclaimed "it smells soo good!!!?!" I probably looked as confused as I actually was or laughed akwardly. I can't lie. I didn't have to either, the darn sandalwood soap sold itself.

...fast forward to what feels like another lifetime, and lo and behold, I think I may be starting to actually like sandalwood myself!

UPDATE: OK, SO I WAS WRONG IN MANY WAYS... This is not 90% sandalwood and it's not sharp or intens in the first hour anymore. My poor nose couldn't smell anything past the wood in the beginning, but I sure have acclimatised now. And I am so in love it almost hurts ♥️ I get the milky vail and all the gorgeous spices. It is so comforting and beautiful. It somehow smells extremely "right" on skin, maybe it's the contribution on the musk that gives off that impression to me. Anyway, the heart of this perfume is just perfect in every way. But, yes, it is soft. I've made quite a huge dent in my bottle already, which is crazy considering how recently I bought it. I doubt it would suit this scent to have a huge sillage, but I do wish it was just a bit more potent. Anyway, this is my favorite atm and I highly recommend it!

Also, I usually don't comment on this, but the design is so cool. The color of the juice, the fonts, the bottle design - it all suits the scent perfectly

MixedTastes

Creamy sandalwood & milky almond with a pinch of star anise. Soft, cosy, stays close to the skin. Nice, but reminds me a lot of Prada Infusions D’Amande, which I already own, so not needed in my wardrobe.
A very comfortable, charming fragrance, though.

m.ali.b1996

A woody spicy perfume... Lots of milk that mixed with light cardamon and sandal wood.
It reminds me of a sunny day or drinking a cardamon tea in a luxory house whith new woody furniture!
Luminous and bright.
You can wear it all year round except summer's hot days.

This one is nice: like a creamy spicy sandalwood.
But I'm never tempted to put my sample though.
And I always forget the smell.
So I guess the verdict is: nothing special, yet well-done.

VRSunset

A unique composition, uplifting and yet calming. Sillage is not an issue for me as I've been searching for a discreet and yet fascinating fragrance for the office. Add a couple of extra sprays for the evening and you're good to go with better sillage.

This does not seem synthetic to me, this is very well blended.

The latest discounted prices makes this very good value.

I'll report back regarding longevity once I've experienced it in various temperatures. I don't believe this was ever intended as a winter scent, hence some may say the longevity is poor, but this is to be expected below 10C. No doubt this will be wonderful during spring, summer and early autumn.

evapap181977

exceptional scent smells gorgeous but becomes a skin scent rather quickly so overspraying is a solution.the price is also high for this.i ll enjy it of course but i won t buy this again for the obvious reasons..

Bubbles1964

I’m a fan of sandalwood perfumes and this is a good one.

Lumiere Blanche is a sandalwood personal scent with equal parts cardamon, anise and almond—a gourmand without the vanilla but still a little sweet because of the tonka note. Drydown has some musk, and in this stage Lumiere Blanche also smells a little synthetic. Less interesting to me but still likeable.

I can find Lumiere Blanche on fragrancenet for a good price, and I think the gray market price makes it a great buy. I agree with the review directly below mine, it’s a personal scent because it lacks projection. But what it lacks in projection it makes up for in longevity, and I’m sure it works better in warmer weather.

AndySmellsGreat

At first a not so strong Ouzo (with water) -this being the Anise drying down after a few minutes revealing what a would describe as as a sweet not so strong lemon squash shifting again after a few minutes and a layer of pepper and spice over the top comes in. The long dry down leaving a creamy wood and touch of spice with iris.

Gorgeous though not groundbreaking it is a high quality lively refreshing scent.

Well made, good life poor Sillage. A good personal scent

Jellsfrag

So refreshing. So milky. Beautiful. Sadly, gone in 10 minutes.

lamlamie2013

Great balance of creamy and woody. Dry down to a soft scent which makes me feel like being wrapped by cloud.

Mooniq

Lumiere Blanche is a comfort-scent for me. A bit skinclose and the cashmere & musk-notes is dominant. Soft, gentle and very cosy on my skin, with an airy sweet note I can't name, maybe the almond. This one doesn't get manly on me. A perfect unisex scent, I think.

peppermoon

Lumiere Blanche is white noise and tv static in perfume form. It smells like a huge dose of cashmeran and not much else. After opening with a brief but promising hit of cardamom, it quickly turns into a white blob of cashmeran and musk. If i sniff my arm closely, I can smell some indistinct spices and woods. Kind of along the same lines as Lanvin's Oxygene (which also has a "blanket of white fog" effect to me) but without Oxygene's interesting pepper/milk/ozone. Not sweet. I could see this being a comforting scent for someone having a "lounge around in bed in a white tshirt and panties" sort of day when they're feeling overwhelmed and want a simple scent. And the perfumer does get points for translating "lumiere blanche" well. But otherwise, meh. Poor projection and no sillage.

Milky cardamom with a Woody touch, the Woody touch being a synthetic scent, with the Amazing drag coefficient that just makes you wanting to smell yourself. This leans a bit masculine for my taste, however, I can still wear it.

Don't be scared by the notes. This scent is NOT SWEET at all, despite the impression you get from the notes - like Almonds or tonka bean. I do not feel any anise (hate it, anyway, so good for me)

Poor longevity as everyone else mentioned. Try Before you buy.

Anna Stromberg

I love this! The composition of almond milk and cardamom is like a perfect serving of kulfi and chai tea.
My only complaint is that it is the weakest scent I've ever tried on. I literally shower in it and after three hours its all gone.
At first, I thought that my bottle was off, but I've read the same from other users.
if the staying power was atleast moderat, I'd consider this a masterpiece.

Linaskye

Got a free sample of this for my birthday because I loved its cloud-like softness and simultaneous subtle depth and warmth on the test card. Now I am on the fence about spending the money to buy a bottle. Sillage is almost non-existent if I don't spray a ton of juice, and the musky notes are almost too much at the beginning. Spicy Obsession-like notes dominate for about half of the very short wear time. However, something stops this from being dull or common. I think of hot chocolate and cashmere and hugs and writing in journals when I wear this fragrance. It calms me, yet it excites me at the same time. I say this a lot, but I MAY have found my signature scent. It's soft and clean, which is a must for me, but it has a sophistication and complexity that perplexes me (in a good way). It's unique for sure without being "weird" or polarizing. I just don't know that I can justify the price tag for ANY fragrance, especially one with such short longevity. If money isn't an issue and you'd like a fluffy soft cloud of a fragrance with a hint of seductive spice, buy this immediately. Truly magical.

Tigerlillian

Lumiere Blanche is a well executed understated sandalwood perfume, entering the senses with distantly gleaming flashes.

Contrasting delicate spices of cool cardamom and star anise, and warm cinnamon steep into a delicate sandalwood cream accented with dry almond-coconut.

Tender green shoots of young iris yield a soft feminine musk. Tonka, cedar and cashmere culminate into woody comfort, wrapping the scent with a warm skin-like veil.

Lumiere Blanche is a simple comfort fragrance for when you're needing a soft restorative hug.

Flowerwood

Very soft and friendly with a creamy generic woodiness. I guess sandalwood, almonds and musky notes are behind the warm softness. I can also detect a discrete Iris contributing with a powdery texture to the composition.
In the top there is a mild, refreshing spiciness that fades fairly rapidly.

All in all a really nice and fresh, transparent scent, but I would like to have some more longevity and sillage to really enjoy Lumiere Blanche

Ladypfefer

I adore this soft perfume, perfect for the winter months. It smells milky cardamon with a hint of coconut. My only problem is the longevity, it last three hours at most. Which is to be expected for such a light fragrance.

smellagent

light and sort of soft. This one reminds me of Orlane be 21 but I will not put it in the reminds me of category above because they usually get removed. This has cardamom which I normally really like but not too much here and I think it is because there are to many competing woods with the cedar, cashmere and sandalwood. just a meh for me.

amirali0072000

A woody and spicy Fragrance for all seasons! A great blend of a wide range of scents. A great blend of Spicy, Powdery, Fresh, Sweet,Wooden and Gourmand scents. I can smell Cardamom and sandalwood the most. I believe it is a unisex and suitable for all occasion, both day and night. Longevity and projection are medium. It is a perfume that you should at least try it one!

schokolade

I thought I never liked sandalwood note, but after trying this, I was surprised. I cannot smell the hint of the sour, and bitterness of sandalwood. It was delicately accorded with almond note. Soft and calm, warm, cozy :) Not too heavy, not too light, it's now my daily perfume!

+) After few hours, I can smell sth like clothing soap, or wool shampoo..? fresh and a bit light!

Chicago Tony T

Creamy and light. More feminine than masculine. More of a Spring/Fall scent than Winter due to the sillage issues. Safe for the office as well. Kudos to those that like it but it does not have enough bite to me. If you like this but wish the notes were more pronounced then check out Bois 1920 Sushi Imperiale. They share many of the same notes but SI is more to my liking as it focuses more on Star Anise and cinnamon.

mruf1

Nice, woody, slightly spicy, with a suede-like aura. I am wearing at work (office) and it is totally appropriate, especially for casual Friday. I tried this once before when it first came out, and remembered liking it then, too, along with Chambre Noire, which I remember as a heavier woody, spicy fragrance. It is an unusually warm November day here in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, and I think that this is perfect for a warm, bright autumn day.

Eloquaint

Reminds me of a lighter, less determined version of Kenzo's Jungle L'Elephant, which is one of my favorite perfumes ever-ever. Very fresh and bright and spicy, with a good opening hit of cardamom, a touch of menthol, and a nice sandalwood, which is getting harder and harder to find.

alberto1964

Glare of light, fresh as the dew, soft as a feather, innocent like a child. No more name was more apt. For all seasons. That's interesting.

Lana148

Very soft, cloud-like, milky, mild, spicy-woody fragrance. It's all about star anise, sandalwood with a touch of cardamom. Cedar-musky base gives this fragrance very cozy feel. There are an elements of gourmand in this blend, but it's never too sweet and cloying. It's very soft and gentle day-wear mix. It feels a bit abstract, close to skin fragrance.

becuille

Olfactive Studio perfumes are each inspired by a different photo. The photo that goes with Lumiere Blanche is one of a sparkiling iceberg surrounded by crystal clear, gently rippling water as men and women in beach attire enjoy the scene. I think the photo is a perfect visual representation of this perfume.

This is a very pure, crystalline perfume. A sharp inhale of icy air.

It opens on me with a burst of star anise and cinnamon. The cinnamon is strangely cool. This is a great daytime or summertime scent, even though the ingredients read like it would be better for cold weather wear.

The musks, when they come through, are gorgeous and offer a slightly powdery quality. On me though, the star anise and cinnamon are the stars of the show throughout. The cedar is definitely there, but it's shy and only lurks. I can't say I've noticed the almond and tonka. There's certainly nothing creamy about this.

The sillage is soft and having worn this 3 times now, I've gotten about 8 hours longevity each time. This has just moved on to my FB wishlist, I absolutely love it.

AveParfum

Lumiere Blanche started out nice. It’s luminous and shimmering, like a lake lit by a silver moon; or maybe like a silk wedding dress. I loved its softly sweet and transparent creaminess. Cardamom was a complimentary kick among the opening notes. It definitely smelled animalic, I was certain I smelled suede. It started out so nice, but, to my chagrin, it went slowly downhill from there. The complexity waned. Soon only a simple woody and musky base remained. Sillage left much to be desired. I hate it when a perfume that is so promising falls flat. Just a bummer.

CLevol

Can't speak; i'm in heaven! Be back later!

Later.. Indeed a beautiful one; certainly the opening!!
I smell fresh suede and anise heavenly.

Later on the fragrance will be a bit less special in the dry-down. a bit more sweet and .....i smell some fruit too!

Next day; The sillage is very soft this day...strange enough it wasn't yesterday....

carlosrafael

Let there be light!

This is a beautiful one...

Lumiere Blanche (White Light) is quickly becoming my number 1 fragrance from Olfactive Studio for daytime wear (my number one overall is Chambre Noire which I tend to use more during late afternoons and night).

This is a lovely, sweetly and softly spiced woody composition. The cardamom, cinnamon, and start anise are smooth (not so sharp and loud as I find it in many fragrances). They come out smelling fresh, bright, well balanced, complementing each other well, and tasting sweetly (without being cloying). Together they give me this ying-yang vibe (a mix of warmth and cool)...the composition is very lovely and unique.

Once the opening calms down (it never goes away), a creamy and tamed powdery-woody layer comes in (I don't consider this a woody fragrance, but a spicy-aromatic one with a faintly woody undertone). The middle and base notes are well fused (together, they exude a unique smell and do not to stand out as individual notes). This is a linear fragrance for most part. It's delicious opening smell lasts till the end.

Initially LB reminds me a little bit to Byredo's Sunday Cologne because of the cardamom and star anise at the top and the light woody undertones at the base, but the moment the almond and iris show up, they take LB into a different path, giving LB a different character and warmer and cozier feel.

Both silage and longevity are above average.

This is the type of fragrance you want to wear during the day to your office, daytime activities, or casually all year around. It may be worn at night as I find it very versatile, but I prefer daytime.

It is totally unisex.

I think because of its uniqueness and quality, this one is worth the price (which I don't feel the same for all the fragrances in this house). People will complement you as it is so easy to like.

milkyway

This stays really close to the skin, a smell of spiced suede. At the same time it manages to stay rather fresh, due to the star anise.
I completely agree with Catnip's review that this is a very cozy smell..it is very balanced, with just the right amount of star anise and almond, that add sweetness but are not overly bitter or gourmet.
I will be honest that I fell in love with it on the first smell even though star anise is probably one of the notes I detest most..

Cams

This is absolutely beautiful - uniquely fresh and softly sweetened with a delicious airiness that profoundly conveys the photographic image on which the smell is based. This is not a fragrance you will smell a lot and this adds to its magic and specialness. Just delightful - I'm off to get a bottle!

Arabian Knight

This smells nothing like Versace "Crystal Noir" in my opinion.

The texture and clarity of the spices contained in "Lumiére Blanche" are of a much higher quality. With very prominant cardamom and anise notes, and a milky smoothness provided by the almond and tonka bean, it brings to mind a cold glass of milky chai tea.

"Crystal Noir" on the other hand, smells to me like shampooed hair. The texture is more sheer and the emphasis is on other notes that you don't smell in Lumiére Blanche, like a redolent coconut and white florals.

Also "Crystal Noir" does not have the cool freshness of "Lumiére Blanche".

ParfumFetiche

This review is based on a tiny decant. To my nose, it's a creamy almond+tonka bean scent. Kinda reminds me of Tardes by Carner Barcelona a bit except that Tardes is brighter. I get moderate projection and longevity (4 hrs) on my skin. All in all, it's a nice sensual almond based scent.

Cassiano

This niche perfume line was completely inspired by the art of photography.

Lumière Blanche is an Eau de Parfum, which according to the creator of the brand, Céline Verleure, although unisex, has a more immediate feminine interpretation, causing a quick identification with the genre.

The photographer of this work was Massimo Vitali and the inspiration was the white light and, therefore, the name of the fragrance. According to Massimo, "the white light is the experience of brightness, a saturation".

The perfumer was Sidonie Lancesseur, responsible for several hits of Grés, Frapin, By Kilian, etc.

The fragrance is composed of notes of cardamom, star anise (badiane) and cinnamon in the output; in the heart, were added notes of almond milk, cashmere wood, and Lily. And finally, notes of cedar, sandalwood, coumarin and white musk at the base.

Just taking the notes, it would be odd if the result wasn't fantastic. The scent hits the skin creamy, with an aroma that comes to remember coconut, but is drier, a result of the cardamom added with the cinnamon. At the same time, it is extremely clear and refreshing, although don't count on citrus notes in the output. Then, goes to a voyage filled with light woods, with a delicate lily that, along with a beautiful musk, make the contrast between the hot and the cold, between the softness and warmth of spices.

The projection is not too large, because it is a perfume made for exude without offending. But the durability is worthy of an Eau de Parfum and can be worn, easily, in warmer climates.

With Lumière Blanche, is midday forever!

SculptureOfSoul

Smells very similar to Bulgari PH Soir, although a bit creamier, sweeter, less metallic and a bit more feminine.

Overall though, very similar - maybe 85% the same or so.

gomt

Smooth, soft, almondy. Lumiere Blanche starts subtly spicy then turns into a creamy heaven.

Someone mentioned its similarity to Versace Crystal Noir - it vaguely reminds me of it, too. But it's much lighter, much quieter and not so definitely feminine. Lumiere Blanche could be Crystal Noir's summer sibling.

I actually can imagine a man wearing it, the same kind of man who'd wear Zadig & Voltaire Tome 1 La Purete for Him - another lovely woody, almondy fragrance (one of my favorites). La Purete is a little colder and a little soapier, but they share the same milky vibe.

LittleDragonette, your description is spot on! As a guy I'm feeling exact the same way, and can't stop sniffing this. Clean, chique, warm and fresh at the same time. Just amazing. This is going to be one of my top ones.

LittleDragonette

Warm and cool, spicy and milky, almondy and cardamom-y. I adore this fragrance and find it oddly addictive, considering it is wayyyy outside my comfort zone. I also find this incredibly sexy, and quietly confident. I think this would work very well on both women and men----it has a chic, androgynous vibe to it that isn't remotely in your face. I think Sidonie Lancesseur captures the whitewashed mood in Massimo Vitali's photograph perfectly, and there is true artistry there.
Fantastic for lovers of chai who don't want it too literal or gourmand.
Love.

To my nose, Olfactive Studio LUMIERE BLANCHE is a smooth and creamy yellowish oriental composition. It is not very strong, as evidenced by the fact that I was able to drain my entire spray sample vial in a single wearing. So I'd characterize this one as on the thinner side of the oriental spectrum. It's not watery, but it's definitely not viscous. The word 'elixir' does not apply.

I was expecting from the name something bright and possibly citrus or perhaps incandescently floral--probably because I've tested perfumes with the word 'white' in their names recently which fall into those categories. Instead, I found cardamom and almond swirling in a somewhat milky mixture with a bit of cedar in the background. It smells pretty nice and more natural than not, but LUMIERE BLANCHE is definitely not unique, so given the middling longevity, I won't be pursuing this creation further.

This scent makes me feel of sunset by the sea, eating coconut flavored sweets and genuinely just enojying the carefree evening. It is lot on the women side, I can't imagine a man sporting this.

Catnip

Lumiere Blanche could define skin scents. It doesn't exactly evoke white light, but I can certainly describe it as "pale" and soft. Everything is very subtle here--the spices, the musk, the relative warmth of woods. What is most discernable on my skin is actually the cardamom. I have a small jar of ground cardamom from Penzeys Spices, and this is the note I smell, especially in the opening stages (a much softer cardamom, of course). Lumiere Blanche dries down to something like the faint scent of sunscreen on me.

The perfume blogs have been raving about this release, and I had great expectations for it. Don't get me wrong: I like it. It is a comforting, cozy fragrance that I would be happy to wear on a colder, rather than warm, day. I just don't find it insipirational. As a concept, it is actually similar to Perfumerie Generale Indochine although Indochine has a stronger, woodier presence. I would recommend sampling both before committing to a purchase if you are after this type of scent.

woodlandwalk

Reminds me a bit of Omnia by Bulgari at first - that'll be the cardamom and almonds I'm guessing. It's less sweet and foody though and it dries down to a slightly synthetic sweet wood note.

ekoeko

Great composition, fresh but not watery, perfect for summer.
