Fifty percent of couples are dissatisfied with their sex life. How do you keep the passion in a long-term relationship? This book is about common sex issues a couple may have, it gives advice and it offers solutions. Written by a doctor of clinical psychology with extensive knowledge about relationships and sex, this book is not only for couples but for everyone who wants to have a great relationship and a fulfilling love life and for health practitioners who want to know the most common issues couples bring to therapy.
This book is about love and sex, myths and taboos, dysfunctions, problems and mistakes that people bring to therapy and how to avoid them. It is a self-help guide backed by current research to help people of all ages, from very young to old age, create healthy relationships and to achieve self-actualization.

One would do much better reading Anne Landers or some other personal opinion editorial. At least there you would not be expecting professional advice based in fact or established study findings. The author may be well meaning but misses the mark on professionalism by introducing personal opinion as fact with no attempt to lead the reader to established studies to the subject matter.

Great book

Please do not treat this book as a bible, but read other books and perspectives as well. Many things the author calls a mistake your partner may actually enjoy. Every person and couple is unique, and you have to find what works best for you and your significant other. The author writes with all the authority of an expert and the book sort've has a feel as if it's the bible of sex, and that every word is infallible, but please do not treat it as such. This book is written by a female author and gives great insights into what works well for women in the bedroom, but it looks very negatively upon things that males enjoy and labels many of them simply as mistakes, whereas some of these things (such as doggy style or anal) might be touted as great pleasures (for men and women) from a different book or source.
Have you ever seen websites with titles like "the 15 worst foods for your waistline"? Where the foods listed were thought to be healthy a few years ago, or are described as healthy currently by someone of a different opinion? This book kind've reminds me of those lists, except the book is a list of sexual advice, not dieting advice. It should be taken with a grain of salt and a realization that the author is writing from a certain perspective, even though she is calling herself an expert and treating her words like she is writing the bible of sex. That being said, there are some very good sections, that are not written from a one-sided perspective, and are clear mistakes. For example, mistakes like sex addiction, or cybersex addition, or loss of desire, are serious and important issues, and the advice here is more helpful than some of the advice on say doggy style, or sex on a washing machine, or sex in an elevator, blah blah blah.

This is the best book I ever read on relationships and sex.
I found this book to be very helpful and informative. After being married for over 30 years I finally understand my husband’s point of view and most importantly why he cheated on me some 10 years ago. I’m still reading the book and learning something new each day. The author is funny with her explanations yet serious about what she writes. She seems very passionate about the topic and also about her clients. A very interesting read.
