Oh they're family, apparently. Elysium, 12.12, afternoon swim and Zara 8.0. bubbly freshie with enough amount of aquatic quality. Works extremely well with heat and compliment getter. I love it!

shravanbendapudi

The other day I found this fascinating set of videos on YouTube from this musical prodigy - Jacob Collier - and it was about reharmonization. He would take songs, melodies we know and love, and just by altering the chord structure underneath it, completely change its mood and make it a whole new experience.

The reason I bring this up is because I find that's what Zara 8.0 is - a reharmonized version of Lacoste White.

Lacoste white is a great scent - in how simple it is. A clean cut citrus floral perfect for a white t shirt look on a hot day. That simple pleasant top is the main tune and remains the same in 8.0 as well. It's what's going on underneath that surprises you.

The background music in Lacoste white is creamy white florals with a great suede that makes it simultaneously soft and masculine. 8.0, by contrast, goes in an ozonic aquatic direction with the violet and water notes. It's edgier in that sense and more modern as well. The aldehydic base also gives it a slight metallic vibe which can feel synthetic - but it is an ozonic blue fragrance synthetic (which still smells great) and not a plastic synthetic.

I really appreciate that you can get a fragrance like 8.0 for the price you get it at. It's similar enough to Lacoste White where you get reminded of it right away when you spray this on, but different enough that you have a new different experience wearing it.

HMO

A very synthetic melon note that blends into a nice and clean minty scent. A fresh fragrance, ideal for the summer. It's nothing out of this world but worth the value.

OlfactoryTingle

For the price, it does a great job.

It's very refreshing and sweet and smells very different from most summer fragrances out there which just use an opening of different citruses to grab attention. I love wearing this on a casual summer day when I just wanna go run some errands. It lasts quite well on my skin giving me upto 10 hours of longevity on an average which is great and trust me, it'll get you a lot of compliments if you're looking for that

Youngkilla3000

The opening is very refreshing with that melon notes, as it dries down it become a nice floral scent. Definitely aquatic and unisex, performance max 6 hours. Payed 25$ comes with 8.0 summer as a set. Not a bad buy at all. The newer 8.0 doesn't perform as good as this one, so make a wise decision.

Parfumsdz

Very fresh and clean minty vibes ... With really affordable price it's best choice for a very high heat weather.
Performance really good even that it's summer light fragrance. And even if the performance is not doing well it still a good choice in this price range which makes you able to apply it anytime you need without worrying about costs.

Dr Harder

Ok scent, acceptable and light, nothing complicated or special. Its not a clone of Lacoste blanc but rather their interpretation of that type of scent. I also think that zara 8.0 is ideal for those who don't want to debate too much or discuss notes, occasions, performance, but just want to grab a bottle before work, apply perfume quickly and go their own way. And there are many of them because not everyone is willing to go into too much detail and write essays about an ordinary bottle of perfume. I envy those people

Andrewthecologneguy

For those who like Le Labo's AnOther 13, the dry down of 8.0 is very much in the same light, though faint (overspray fixes this). If you are looking to extend your bottle of AnOther 13 or to soften the blow, this is one to look at.

Afc_Croatian

This smells almost identical to Burberry Brit Rhythym.
It lasts pretty long and is pretty strong on the nose so be careful with the amount of sprays.
Overall smells like fresh trees and is ok.

PierreLouis

If you have Zara Silver from 2018, before the bottle change, don't buy this since is 99% same perfume. The Zara Silver I refer to had a black glossy bottle, not satin, and it's not present on Fragrantica

nidhal

fake mint + fake melon = cucumber
a fresh cucumber fragrance
weird enough i get a compliment once wearing it (from an old lady)
so if you wanna smell like a boring cucumber salad and impress your sugar mom this will work for you like maagic

sameenuk

currently wearing this. Just because i wasnt in the mood for anything fancy.

This Zara range is like a Ronseal range, It is what it is. It says on the side of the bottle what to expect, and you get it.
I have Lacoste Blanc and there is some familiarity albeit much more milder notes. It reminds me more of a minty version of CK Escape.

Its a very fresh scent on a summers day. I really appreciate the performance of this one at its price point. Can wear it at the gym or at work. Decent projection given its price too. Im wondering if its really a unisex one compared to others in the range.

Gogiciano

This one is most often the first one I grab coming out of the shower. Its a green fruity freshie. Absolutely Lacoste White. I had that one in my younger years. Also loved it. This is an underrated Zara fragrance. Its very versatile and because its not to strong, its a perfect gym scent.

Fragaddict123

Clonig Lacoste white is the dumbest move I’ve seen
who would clone a fragrance at the same price point

sami66436

Great summer scent. It does smell slightly cheap and a bit synthetic, but it is great for the price. Longevity isn't great, but it does project well for the first hour. Smells extremely aquatic, with melon and mint. This doesn't remind me of Lacoste Blanc, but I guess it's in a similar area of fragrance. I'd say its worth the buy.

gre-muser

Perfume that truly encloses summer in a bottle! It is fresh and fruity, with a really noticeable melon note in the opening, but is very well balanced by the mint and aquatic notes that keep it fresher than sweet.

I bought it on the site paired with the 9.0, both of 100 ml paid around 16 €; the packaging is nice and the bottles are very beautiful satin, all in all for these prices you can't really ask for more than that!

On my skin also the duration is high, after 6/7 hours I could still feel it, I don't know Lacoste White and I don't know how much this Zara is actually a clone of it, but for my taste it is an excellent summer / casual perfume rather original than what you usually smell around.

House Adams

Essentially Lacoste L1212 White without the Leather / Suede backbone... Not that L1212 is expensive, but you could save $10-$12 going this route - But for the money, just go with Lacoste White, hands down.

Still... Very easy to wear, very versatile Spring/Summer scent, casual, office, etc... All that stuff. I only got it bc I was curious about Zara 8.0 Summer... And they came in a double pack, 2 60ml bottles for $19.90 or something like that.

The 8.0 Summer version is a bit nicer in my eyes... A true Summer scent. Along the lines of Nautica Voyage, but with a more pronounced Cucumber note. SYNTHETIC... Sure, but still nice and of decent quality. Aquatic, Appley Cucumber with some Woody and Citrus notes... For some reason its not in the Fragrantica database, but the newer Sport, Classic and Extreme versions are.

Anyway... I actually really like 8.0 Summer... But the original is just too close to Lacoste White, which I like better. So I'll either layer it at times to use it up or give it to my brother.

But if you end up with it... Its not bad at all and is of course pleasant smelling to the average person. Very inexpensive as well.

bimosul

Tbh, don't waste your money on this. Smells cheap and below average longevity. Very similar with gatsby platinum wave where you can find easily in random supermarket

Andrewthecologneguy

Look no further than RobbiX's review.
This is an almost perfect summer scent. A close deep sniff reveals a soft coconuty vibe buried under melon and mint.
Also works well as a fun office frag - crisp shirt and tie with nice khakis.
I really like this one.

RobbieX

A lovely clean Summer perfume. Very like CK Eternity Summer 2005.

Longevity and silage are really very good and Zara 8.0 is a great value scent.

Notes I get are Violet, melon, floral, marine, mint and musk notes. This juice is really pleasant and I'll replace this one when I'm finished.

For the price, this liquid is amazing and the dry down is so fresh.

If you want a lovely summer perfume and don't want to pay too much - you can't go wrong here.

mazga

Reminds me of Lacoste white? Sure. Does it smell just like it? Nope. Not if your nose is black and white that is.

PJwebbs

A clean fresh fragrance with a hint of fruit. It's nice when applied but just doesn't last. Skin scent for me, poor projection and seems to be gone before an hour. Shame because that opening is quite nice for summer.

I wouldn't buy again. Throw it in the car to freshen up untill it runs out. Shame.

updog

Blind buy because I thought the notes sounded interesting, but I did not like it at all. It just smells cheap and so does the 9.0.

Matías Ross

Synthetic melon, but i can see myself wearing this during the summer.

Not bad, not great, but it's certainly refreshing.

Batch reviewed: late 2019.

Lacoste L.12.12 Blanc with blue notes.

It is uncanny how much the opening is like Lacoste L.12.12. Blanc, which I own and is a much-liked fresh cheapie as well.

8.0 opens up with a fresh citrussy blast that does not really smell like melon and mint to me. Only a subtle watery note in the opening with lots of citrus, that weakens quite fast though compared to Lacoste Blanc and then I get a piercing musk note that is not present in Lacoste Blanc, but overall, they stay similar in terms of freshness all the way through, although I think 8.0 leans a bit more toward the blue end of the fragrance spectrum due to the musk and watery notes, than Lacoste Blanc does. Blanc is a bit creamier/soapier, while 8.0 more musky and therefore slightly more masculine. I would say both could be worn by women easily, but Blanc will be a bit easier to wear for women than 8.0 will be.

Even though Lacoste Blanc is also considered a cheapie, it is twice the price (thrice if you happen to buy the 8.0/9.0 dual box) of Zara.
However, the Lacoste feels more balanced and well-rounded and does not jump off my skin so sharp. The notes in 8.0 blast out more strongly and with a more synthetic vibe without actually giving better projection. So, Zara 8.0 feels a bit more aggressive and also cheaper in my nose, but not by much. Projection on both is starting out moderate but they die down quickly (15-30 minutes) and settle somewhere between weak and moderate for me, becoming weaker still as time passes on. After 4 hours they are gone, so even here the similarities do not end.

If you just want a scent that is fresh, uplifting, non-offensive, can even catch compliments (quite tough to get those though with the weak projection) and lasts around 4 hours you can get either one. Considering the price tag and overall quality of both, I do not see any reason why you would prefer Lacoste over Zara.
I would probably consider either one as a splurge it around fragrance because it is cheap, while potentially having a much higher quality fresh scent as well, with better more natural smelling ingredients, that perhaps can get you through an entire day, so you do not have to carry a sprayer with you.

I see the Zara fragrances as an opportunity to get my desired scent DNA and use them for example when I stay at home, but still want to smell nice either for myself and/or friends visiting.
Especially right now with most people wearing protective masks all the time, they will not smell you anyway, so why waste the good stuff, when you can get decent perfumes that make you smell nice for yourself or your friends/partners at a bargain.

Overall Summary:
Smell: 7/10 (I like it and it is very nice and fresh but a bit too synthetic)
Sillage: weak to moderate
Longevity: about 4 hours
Price to performance ratio: 9.5/10

Afduarte00

It's all about the base ...
Top notes are melon with mint, sintetic but nice, a litle bit alcoholic and harsh in oppening, but it last seconds. What mark and save this scent is the musk / amber in the base, mixed with the mint ... that remember old sugar mint candies ... not natural ...but nice. A confort scent to relax and sleep.

neofit.2

A nice scent and I use it as a replacement for Eternity summer-2011 which has been discontinued. The aromas are 90% identical, especially when dry

shopkw

I want to like Zara fragrances. But when you get into perfumery your olfactory sense grow. Other perfumers have created this fragrance, but one of the key difference in scents is the quality the makers put into their version of a fragrance. I do not expect top notch ingredients, or a nice twist in the recipe at this price point. And you should not either. This is an over done fragrance with sub-par ingredients. IMO Zara fragrances are cheap last minute check out lane products meant to clever up charge a customers final bill.

Look at other makers of this fragrance and those similar. You have better options. This come off scratchy rather than powdery.

I was quite pleasantly shocked with this zara release. It’s a simple,
straightforward, fresh smelling fragrance. (might be too simple for some though) However, that’s actually the main factor why I adore this fragrance. I blind bought the 12ml as a layering fragrance but wore it on it’s own out of a whim! Longevity is good on clothes and on skin it performs quite well for the price (5-6 hrs)

The scent reminds me of freshly showered skin. Initially fruity (melon) notes mixed with mint greet you for the first hour. The dry down is my favorite part and smells like a creamy clean woody musk. It smells luxurious and expensive as well (for the price). Im getting a full bottle once I finish my 12ml.

stolzman

Longevity on clothes is astounding. After wearing it last week I can still smell it on the collar of my bomber jacket. And I wore other (more winterish, sweet) fragrances with that jacket on for the past week. Wow. On the skin, also great staying power for a summer fragrance, projects well for 2-4 hours.

Candyandy

Zara has a summer version of 8.0 on their online store now (March 2020) called 8.0 Summer.
The official notes are:
Lemon Zests, Mandarin, Apple
Cucumber, Amberwood
Cedar, Musk
Same price as original 8.0, same shape of bottle and cap. The glass of the bottle is not frosted and is a little different shade of green.
I have neither tried nor seen it in person yet.
Honestly I'm really looking forward to this, 8.0 is a hidden gem and a really unique fragrance. It's not easy to get a masculine floral for this kind of money. I hope this new one is great too.
Zara also now sells a 30 ml version of the original 8.0 btw.

boogiewoogie

This to me is a very nice melon Minty fragrance with average Sillage and longevitiy for a summer scent.
Makes me think of the nearly forgotten fragrance of
Calvin Klein - Escape from the mid. 90`s ..
I don`t know the Polo line so, don`t hunt me down for that;)
I just think of Escape, and I like it .
Fresh minty, and not to sweet opening for the 8.0 from Zara.
Initial blast is a bit synthetik, but I don`t mind.
It is getting better after a while!
It is a good go to fragrance if you are in a hurry and you
don`t have to think about what to wear .. it`s a day fragrance and for that it is a versatile fruity freshie with a hint of aquatics. I get more from the minty melony floral vibes.
To me it is a solid 7 out of 10.

korleis

Good and invigorating. Summer in a bottle.
Melon and mint in the opening and a musky depth with the dry down. However the mint note disappears quickly for me. It’s somewhere in between Lacoste White and Polo Blue, less watery notes and more white floral.
Projects well for the first two hours and then more subtle, closer to skin.
Blind buy safe. Inoffensive. Good value!
Seems that some stores still have it in stock, and some not. I guess if it disappears it will be relaunched under a new name shortly.

Shauryadhand

I tried this one years ago while shopping at a Zara store, it smelled pretty good and was very cheap so I bought it. I never had any expectations from this one but it literally amazed me.

The projection and the longevity were really great. This also garnered a lot of compliments for me. It easily lasted for 6-7 hours and projected well for around 2.5 hours. All this in high summer heat. I used about 3 bottles through the first year of my college and loved the green mint and melon notes.

Obviously this is by no means the best smelling summer freshie or the most natural smelling perfume but it is great especially for people on a budget.

and_then_some_7

Melon and Mint.
I didn't think I'd like this. However, after a few wears this summer, I enjoyed it.
Performance was surprisingly good too.
Best used on a mild-to-cooler summer day.

redkung02

Great Beater Fragrance
For Spring and Fall
Not Light Enough for Summer
Not Think Enough for Winter

gonomon

Pretty young smelling (imho best suited for 16-21 years old males) fragrance with a dominant white (synthetic) mint and melon smell. When i started to use this i was getting too much melon smell from it in fact thats what made me buy this fragrance. Nowadays i only get really heavy mint when using that. The scent is linear as it can be, you will feel mint all the time its on your skin (normally mint does not last long but being synthetic make mint stay in the game for whole show).
It's like smell and forget nothing too crazy in terms of smell even though its somewhat unique (clone of lacoste white but lacoste white dna is not being copied much) i don't think this grabs any form of attention from people. Its just like you know you don't smell bad with this and its all that does.

Rhaegal

This is a very fresh fragrance for summer..Theme notes i sent are mint, melon, violet and then watery notes..The performance are poor..sillage is one metre and longevity 1/2 hours..but price is good..12 euro for 100 ml..fragrance for casual or sporting context.

6/10

tucktimosprime

I love melon in my fragrances and this one certainly doesn't disappoint me, the melon stayed throughout the good 10 hours before it becomes a faint skin scent.
It starts very bright and as it kicks into the mid it has a soapy cleanness but still very nice but the dry down is my favourite part about this fragrance, it gets really musky, not a white musk or a dirty musk but somewhere in-between.
It does remind me a lot of A&F First Instinct but minus the gin and tonic note and at a quarter of the price.
A true banger for the summer and my Zara collection is rapidly growing, I'd give this an easy 8 outta 10.

MacGuffin

Melon is one of my favorite fruits in summer so this scent is so easy to like. I dont really get the mint, its minimal here but still even if there is caramel-like sweetness in the air as you wear this scent in general this eau de toilette is very uplifting. Only a few fragrances can do this, the ones that can affect your mood. When I try to smell the atomizer there's a guaranteed smile on my face.
I dont get the Polo Blue comparison because this one for me is more fruity and less aquatic. Average sillage but the drydown and longevity are both good. Perfect for summer season. One of my latest favorites this summer. Batch 83270.

8.2/10

mkpunk

Zara 8.0 is pretty much a dead ringer to Ralph Lauren Polo Blue. It is a soapy aquatic. But it is more powerful than traditional Polo BLue and its clones (looking at Belcam's Classic Match, Eternity Aqua for Men and New York Yankees specifically).

Zara 8.0 opens with a pretty strong mix of melon and mint that goes into an aquatic mid. There is a slight violet in the open and lily of the valley. The base is the most understated part of the fragrance with a slightly more than noticeable musk note as well as a slight woody.

Zara 8.0 performs pretty good. It opens with a slightly less than moderate sillage at first. But for a spring/summer aquatic, it isn't much of a letdown. It lasts pretty good for about a total of 7 hours as a skin scent.

Zara 8.0 works really good for spring and summer use due to the notes and the light projection it produces. It works for casual, active and work use.

Zara 8.0 is actually an under-the-radar winner. If you need to get a Zara 9.0, I'd suggest getting the double with 8.0. That is how I got it and without it, I don't think I'd actually get it but I am glad I got it. I rate 8.0 an 8 out of 10 since the performance is better than Polo Blue.

hadisalimsugianto

One of the freshies turn to green aquatic and at the very dry down, it creates a powdery scent.
Instead of using citrus this perfume using melon and mint as its true power on the top, of course, it was sweet yet fresh with the mint blast on the top of it.
An aquatic scent I catch when it lingers in the air, it is very wavy and very calm. Then in the very dry down, you will know that amber exists to build a powdery scent.

overall the scents and how it changed 9/10
longevity 6-7 hours
sillage 2-3 hours
And that's why this fragrance is one of my loved ones in my Zara fragrances collection.

renato1989

Fresh, invigorating and instantly lifts up your mood. I have received only positive feedback, well, at least when they can smell it. This suffers from longevity issues.

Smell 8/10 (tropical, uplifting, relaxed)
Longevity 6.5/10

Worth to buy? Definetely yes, if under 10€

piedeatleta

It smells citric with a touch of sweet. Longevity is good, but sillage is soft, so it might require several puffs.

Among similar notes, I also own a Zara Lisboa, which has better sillage and a stronger citric scent. Lisboa is my favorite of the two, because it keeps its scent during its whole lifetime, while 8.0 mutates, after an hour or so, into talcum powder.

I'm reviewing my other Zara perfumes in case you want to check it out. Cheers!

dtwaddle

I'll start by saying the Zara house puts out some great fragrances for, in some cases, ridiculously cheap compared to the quality.

If you look at the note pyramids of most of their fragrances before you try them, you may think they look mundane, pedestrian, unoriginal, even boring. But it would be a mistake to let that deter you from trying them.

Zara 8.0 is like the others in that I see nothing terribly original in the note pyramid above, but it has a certain something that sets it apart from other fresh aquatics. Maybe it's the blend of the mint/melon combination. And of course "watery notes" could mean almost any combination of citrus, herbs and florals. So whatever the creator did with this, I must give him/her kudos. This is stronger, more pleasant, and performs better than a lot of aquatics, which are notorious for maddening projection and longevity. I get moderate projection and moderate longevity from this and it lingers on the skin a good while after that. I'd say I get 7-10 hours and another 2 or 3 on the skin after before it goes away. I am guilty of spraying liberally, and feel free to do so with the fragrance, by the way. I got a 12 mil travel spray for less than $7 at the Zara store at the Mall of America here in Minneapolis.

I also bought the same size of Night II Pour Homme and Vibrant Leather, which I will also review.

Anyway, if you're looking for a good summer freshie that has decent projection and longevity and a better than average smell for a fresh aquatic at a more-than-reasonable price, look no further. I haven't seen it online much yet, but if you're lucky enough to have a Zara store in your city, it's a rare goldmine of inexpensive quality fashion and fragrance. Don't take it for granted.

Fragrance -8.0 Zara

He's got a bit that tropical vibe going on.

Scent - 7/10

Main notes according to me -

vaibsankhla

This is not bad but it is so generic!
Sadly one of the Zara that really deserves the cheap price

aet

Overall a nice, pleasant scent. Starts out fresh with the mint and melon and then mellows down. There is a certain sharp element (perhaps the cedar) that inserts itself as the scent dries down and stays throughout the life of the fragrance that I am not sure if I like or not, but certainly nothing worthy of disliking the final product. great longevity and good sillage. another good buy from Zara.

Batphink

I saw this bought 3 others left the shop I came back 30 mins later to buy this and it was all gone. I had sprayed it on my winter coat sleeve and after 7 hours can still smell it.Next time it's in stock I'll be purchasing this cheap but decent quality gem!

Terente

Bought Zara 8.0 + 9.0, both for about 17 euros. For 8.5 euros/bottle I got two extraordinary perfumes. Zara 9.0 I like it more. Both are long lasting with good projection in first 2-3 hours. Then they gradually mollify and become skin perfumes for more than 8 hours (on me). Good smell, Zara 8.0 opens with a melon dominant and few mint and dry down in a musky-resin note.
Very nice bottles and very good sprayers.
Some people say that some Zara's perfumes smell is somehow synthetic... hm, most of today perfumes smell synthetic, because they ARE synthetic.

My notes:
smell 8/10
longevity 7/10
projection 6.5/10

Best buy!

inkonito13

it smells exactly like head & soulders menthol

bfactor

Fresh, not as generic as the common "fresh" scents, but still generally uninteresting. The melon note is obvious and completely overpowering other notes.

davidljim

It's funny how this cheap fragrance does performs, I mean, sometimes the smell does comes off harsh or kinda sticky. Nonetheless the fragrance has a really good sillage and monstruous longevity.

It's not even close to one of my favorites, but it's inarguably a good perfume.

The compliment factor on this one is really good too.

Forget Freeman

Are you a fan of green scents? If so give this a whirl.

Beautiful scent with a surprising power, great longevity (go easy on the trigger with this one) and has great controlled silage, try one spray on chest and one on your undershirt, for me this lasts 8 hours easily.

Because of the strong green notes I would class this as a spring scent through and through.

Once the green notes calm down the floral notes become quite prominent.

I tried this and 7.0 over the weekend and like them both.
Got both of them direct from Zara (7.0 and 8.0 in a multipack for £17.99, both 100ml's) very pleasing scent, even more so for this price range.

Nice!

I seem to be able to detect these notes pretty good. Between 7.0, 9.0 and this one, I liked this one the least because of that. I may have overdone it too.

After being more conservative with spraying (about 1 on the neck and Adam's apple and 1 per biceps), this one has grown on me a lot.

It's rather vivid and green, and it takes an hour or so to turn into something soothing and calming.

Should be nice for the upcoming summer.

EDIT: On second thought, this is not a summer scent. I'd much rather have it on in spring. Still, projects well. I've given mine away as it was too much.

samuelgustav

Fresh clean scent, the melon give it a fruity vibe, really nice for such cheap fragrance. Good for college guys on a budget.

Duborowski

Polo Blue in a budget.

Zara really did a good job to this bottle 8.0. Super masculine scent with long lasting projection and sillage as well.My advice maximum 2 spray is enough for the day.It really reminds me once i was still in my childhood time,i smell this scent somewhere inside the bank.I just dont know why i feel that this scent can make me feel protective and i can fully trust to the person with this scent around. And im keep searching for this magical scent for many years and at last i found Zara had make a perfume on this 8.0. Now i will spray this on everytime i going to work.

Super long lasting smell even after shower i still can smell it on my wrist.sillage are huge and nobody will never smell u.Good job Zara!!
