What a wonderful Spring-Summer day fragrance! Holds up in humid weather! Non-offensive. It's fresh . a tad vintage, but is a VERY good way!

Toady89

This is such a wonderful cheapie!
The opening is quite sharp but once it settles it's a lovely, green, floral scent. Very clean and serene.

Update: I've had this for over a month now, and I honestly believe this is severely underrated. It is so beautiful and calming. Yes the opening is quite sharp and citrusy for a minute or so, but my goodness the drydown is heavenly. Its green, aquatic, milky, powdery and musky with a slight warmness from the ginger, sandalwood and amber. Its pure zen in a bottle. I like to layer this with Dove Lotus Flower and Rice Milk body lotion. Not a loud scent, its more of a skin scent but has good longevity. I can still smell it on my clothes hours after. Its my go to bedtime scent but i will definitely wear it outside when Spring returns.

PineconeAlice

It is a very nice, soft and green smell. It is not sweet at all, it reminds me of a summer grass smell. Unfortunately, it seems to disappear very soon after spraying and I can never smell it on myself after 40 min, even when I overspray. To smell it, I also need to basically get my nose straight to my skin, as it seems to have non-existent scent trial.

Arden Beauty is really beautiful. The rice flower note, the rhubarb, the lotus, the ginger; these are the things that strike me about this scent. I adore its warm/cool quality: cool, aquatic lotus, green, vegetal rhubarb, warm ginger, and soft, clean rice flower. I've worn it in the heat and I've worn it when it's cool, and it's simply beautiful each time. But I think I may like it most of all during the transitional seasons of spring and fall, when it's still cool out; something about the 55-70 degree Fahrenheit temperature amplifies its assets. It's clean, green and a little vegetal (the rhubarb!), lovely and substantive. It could be someone's signature scent who still does that sort of thing -- as I used to before I got crazy about perfume and started collecting hundreds of bottles! It's in the same genre as Alfred Sung Shi, although it doesn't really smell like that one, aside from sharing a rice flower note, clean and light, but still strong, with presence. Its longevity is good, maybe 5 hours before it goes into skin scent territory, and its projection is well-mannered without being non-existent. It's refined and divine. And it's a tremendous bargain these days, at just $15 for a 3.3 oz.! <3

Unfortunately not a fragrance that one can review ( at least I can't make a description) because it completely disappeared from my skin after 10 minutes so there's no time to dry down. It's a pitty cause I kinda liked it when I sprayed it.

InannaNefertum

Sentimental and beautiful.
My father got this for me one Christmas in high school. Once I became pubescent his holiday presents went from barbies to perfume everytime. He created a monster .

This is the perfume made me truly love perfumes. I would request this one every holiday while I was in his house. It was my signature scent for years. I felt like a grown lady when I acquired this scent.
It was deep yet rich at the same time. More sophisticated than the simpler girly scents I was used to. Very feminine a tad "spicy" but aquatic simultaneously floral and a little green at the same time. Warming but not too warm because of the aquatic balance.
Scent is linear it is the same scent from start to finish.

It seems to have been reformulated a little in recent years. It's not the same scent I remember from high school though vaguely familiar. Maybe it's just my memory. But I will always have it in my collection. It's gorgeous.

Not impressed really. I like the tart green opening and the watery florals underneath. But for me Arden Beauty is entirely linear. It changes not at all in the hours that it is on my skin. Longevity is okay but sillage is poor.

I got mine from a pharmacy in Australia ($15!) but was told that AB is being discontinued and they are on the last of their stock. Well, SAs are notoriously ill-informed - 'discontinuation' can actually mean that someone has decided not to distribute a fragrance to that country or place. Still, with parent company Revlon in financial strife, it could be that Arden is clearing out its low performers.

So stock up if this is your favourite. I can easily imagine that there will be a lot of disappointed folk out there if this really is discontinued. On the right person it could be fantastic. And so cheap!

Arden Beauty is a zen garden in spring or early summer.
Startlingly green bamboo soars over airy lotus, delicate orchid, demure lily, and gentle iris
A slight ozonic tinge gives the impression of water, dragonflies over a clear bubbling stream.
Zesty rhubarb and the warmth of spicy ginger hint at vernal sunshine dappling the fragrant blossoms and new leaves.
Skin-like sandalwood and light white musk are soon to follow.
Clean, green, and serene, this perfume is haiku in a bottle.
The nose behind this is Antoine Lie, famed creator of Secretions Magnifique (but don't let that put you off, this is not THAT edgy) and several other of the niche house Etat Libre d'Orange offerings.
Very similar to Zoologist's Dragonfly which is $$$s, but I picked up mine for $18 at Kathmandu duty free.
My only complaint is that the bottle is deceptively capped in red, nearly any shade of green would be more congruent to its contents.
Sillage = moderate, well behaved, stays close to the body.
Duration = Despite comments to the contrary this was surprisingly long lived on my skin and clothing, lasted well into the next day.
Age = Appropriate for any age, both young and mature.
Style = Casually elegant.
If you are looking for something that's both feminine and fresh, and you like the sharpness of green and or ozone notes, then I'd say this is a safe blind buy.
Elizabeth Arden never ceases to amaze with well priced, original, and tasteful scents at a very reasonable price point!

I didn't think I was going to like this based on the notes, but when i found a travel size for just a few dollars, I decided to give it a try.

From the cap it smelled pretty awful, there was a sourness that was very off putting. When I applied it to skin it improved considerably. The opening is my favourite part of Arden Beauty. It is fresh, tart, green and spicy. I think the spicness from the ginger is what I like the best. The tartness from the rhubarb and citrus are quite refreshing. I was disappointed this part of the fragrance was so short live. It maybe lasted 10-15 minutes. The mid is still pleasant, but a just not something I am often drawn to. It remains green, but it is joined by delicate, but non descript florals. All the spiciness and tartness have faded leaving it a little forgettable. Still very nice though. It reminds me of fresh spring air just as the flowers are starting to bloom...when everything smells more green than floral. After a few hours that all fades away and the base is not great. It is a bit sour and unpleasant, perhaps the musk and/or sandalwood. It's the same scent I get from the cap in the beginning. Thankfully the scent is very faint at this point and it fade away completely within an hour or so. To avoid this stage i would just reapply a spritz or two since the scent has faded so much at this point anyway.

Arden Beauty is a very feminine, youthful scent. It smells like springtime and that is the only time I would really think of wearing it. It is soft and fresh enough (except that drydown) to make a nice subtle everyday scent.

The performance is not the best, but it could be a lot worse. It lasts 3-5 hours but is very soft with almost no projection with a typical application (4 sprays). I wore it a second time and sprayed it like a weak body spray, 10+ sprays and the projection was improved without going overboard but the longevity remained unchanged.

This fragrance can be found pretty inexpensively. Most of the discounters have it available from $15-30 for a 100ml bottle. The need to overspray this one does diminish it's value a little, but still well worth it if you really enjoy this fragrance. I'm still not sure if I like like the mid enough to keep this one, if that opening lasted longer it would be an easy choice.

SheRays

Such a gorgeous and sophisticated bottle (which probably drew me in) . I WANTED to like it but this went very *foul *on my skin. I couldn't smell anything pleasant at all. Very disappointing

malinka

How disappointed one can be when sort of blind buying perfume from the same designer! Got mine today and the second I unpacked it I realised I wanted 5th Avenue which I adore, and got the other one - the one that smells like glue. Yellow and white plastic packed stick. That one. A bit dull, a bit chemical, just imagine yourself smelling like the office glue...meant to go flowery, lilies of the valley, legant and sophisticated, and got glue. How disappointed one can be...

correspondencepersonal

The first spritz of this smells more like the aroma that you experience as you open the door in a florist's flower case (the refrigerated zone that keeps the flowers fresh longer) -- this smells like a high end designer florist shop where they are styling florals for weddings, gifts, and celebrations. This starts like a mish-mash of bright green floral cuttings mixed with floral notes which smell like the stems of flowers immersed in water - like at a high end florist shop (this smell hits close to home because I worked at a florist in the summers when I was in high school learning floral design). Bright, fresh, spring-like florals. I'm picking up a green note which is similar to a more feminine version of Irish Spring soap, only this is slightly more of a floral essence than Irish Spring.

Intuitively, the smell is such a floral crisp smell that this reminds me of the Jennifer Aniston romantic comedy called "Love Happens" (2009) and a few scenes from"Along Came Polly".

This is a well blended fragrance chord where you are not able to discern notes pushing forward. This is a cohesive group of florals.

The red lid may be something that the Elizabeth Arden group is using as a brand image... maybe something that ties in with the Red Door theme. The red cap on this bottle seems a bit misleading, unless you factor in that this perfume has the notes of rhubarb in the mix. This is more of a green floral, so I really feel a green cap would have been a better choice. This is in a similar fragrance zone to David Yurman Fresh Essence (with the green juice) or the original Cabotine (with the bright green lid). I have tried Elizabeth Taylor Forever Elizabeth perfume and this is possibly a cousin to EA's Beauty -- however, I feel like this is closer to David Yurman's Fresh Essence and Cabotine...these all have more of the green notes present.

As this perfume wears and moves into the dry down, this has a note or two that remind me of Elizabeth Arden's original Green Tea perfume, so if you like Green Tea by EA - I would also try this. These may be compatible perfumes that could be layered to create another perfume with a different vibe.

So far, so good.
This is one of those that just gets better in the dry down phase.
Let this settle in, see how this blends with your chemistry.
The first 30 min to an hour of wear is fairly brisk - this turns out to be a very nice classic feminine soap type perfume in the dry down. There is a slight hint of Irish Spring - but this is not quite as masculine as Irish Spring, this is a floral feminine perfume - even in the dry down. Could a man wear this? Yes. But this is not what I would consider a unisex perfume, (the floral notes in this makes this come across more feminine).

I agree with some of the other reviews on this, this perfume has a quality about it that feels so well blended that it reads as a perfume that is far more expensive than it is (some have mentioned that this smells similar to Channel fragrances, I think that is stretching this a bit too far... but this perfume seems to be so well blended that it could be an easy reach and fairly versatile). This is reasonable, not overly priced -- the quality of the perfume reads that this is a designer flanker.

This has a mood enhancing effect. The general vibe of this perfume is fun, playful, energetic, green -- there is something about this perfume in the dry down that is calming yet playful. I like this quality in perfumes, especially after all that we have recently been through with the Covid scare.

There is a nice sense of optimism in this perfume. The dry down is really quite nice and totally worth the brisk beginning phase (I would time this where you have allowed the first 30 minutes to an hour before you are in an enclosed space.

--------------

The closest thing out of my collection to Elizabeth Arden's Beauty is David Yurman Fresh Essence (green juice bottle). David Yurman has more of the DY DNA mix and EA's Beauty is slightly more bright florist cuttings green (these two are so close that it would take an expert nose comparing them side to side to tell the difference in the two at the first spray -- they are literally about 92% the same perfume, by the way they smell); Cabotine starts much stronger with a super strong carnation smell in the opening phase, it is in the same family of green scents -- but a little bit bolder at the beginning with more silage and projection throughout the wear of the perfume.

Alces Alces

This is the best perfume for a rainy warm day. It's green and slightly ozonic, and mirrors the smell of cooling rain after a super hot summer of drought. Wearing it today since we are finally getting rain after three months of searing dry heat. Very refreshing!

In hot sunny weather this can be a bit screechy. Rain is a requirement. For me anyway.

The rhubarb, lotus, and ginger firmly place this in the early 2000's genre. That's not a bad thing.

albatros

Fresh floral green scent with excellent silage and staying power for a very cheap price.

meliecat

On my skin this is a mishmash of everything..probably doesn't match my skin either. Not convincing as a green or floral scent - it's a nondescript fresh scent for me - pleasant, but also somehow cheap, not in the chemical, but more in the mass-produced way.. If you don't like sweetness, defo a winner.

kalhie

This is a nice perfume, although much less green than I expected. Definitely aquatic floral, it's a bit more "perfumey" than I'd like, but still a very nice scent. BTW just now I get the "perfumey" expression after using this! Since I got this in the winter, I still have to try in warmer weather; I suspect I will like it more then. I will use it from time to time, and it's nice to have in a collection, specially because its price is very affordable.

A. Rose123

Creamy green, hint of rose petals floating in sweet water, a squeaky waxiness that makes me think of a single stalk of a Bird of Paradise in a clear, glass vase.

Minimalistic but distinctive, strangely sterile and cozy at the same time. Understated loveliness.

Ines65

Based on the comments and the review, I was sold. I purchase it (blind buy) and at first it was green and lovely, then just a few minutes into it it got louder, screechier and soapier...now it's just plain ol' Irish Spring Soap(!!) Got a headache from it. I tried it again in the winter, then warmer weather...still not for me. What a shame. Therefore, I'm passing it along to a family member.

Carolann59

This may sound crazy but Arden Beauty reminds me of Enchanted Forest / Vagabond Prince... AB smells like an icy forest when I first spray it and maybe that's the only similarity but considering the price of EF, I'll take it! So, AB then settles into the fresh floral notes, followed by a soft cozy drydown. I purchased for a song after reading the reviews and carefully studying the notes and this was a fantastic "blind buy" for me: smells far more expensive than it is and I think/hope it will be a great fragrance for any time of year (have only tried in cool/cold weather). I can say with certainty that this frag will always be in my rotation.

swedishmilk15

Elicits many compliments. Floral, light, clean but not same-smelling as so many out there. Strong daffodil/narcissus notes. I bought a travel spray for a song & never thought I'd enjoy it so much or use it all up. But a refill will be needed soon.

Try this if you like Arden 5th Ave but want to try something "greener." The red cap is misleading, I was expecting something more Red Door or even No5-- it should have been pink or aqua if you ask me.

RandomPatterned

I'm perplexed. All I perceive is rose with some lily, a touch of bergamot, and maybe orchid with some green notes I can't identify. I love iris and am fond of lotus, ginger, sandalwood, and amber. I find none of these, nor any tartness from rhubarb. I have not yet been able to be certain of discerning rice in fragrances I have tried so I can't comment on its presence in Beauty. The base seems a tad like musk, but not overly so. Kind of watery and powdery but more floral to me. I guess I need to try more green fragrances to become familiar. Not a favorite I would wear frequently. Perhaps I will try it again in warmer weather.

Edit: Fast forward to the evening. It was still lingering and I reapplied one spray upon returning home and could still smell a hint in the morning. It may last longer on fabric. I'm changing to a solid like although I'm unsure about the components. Maybe that is ok and part of what makes a blend mysterious in a nice manner. The essence seems like it floats in a cloud, not water.

LSAUG

This perfume does remind me a bit of Forever Elizabeth by Elizabeth Taylor but it is more aquatic and less powdery. They share a similar green floral character but Forever Elizabeth is not a dupe for Arden Beauty. Arden Beauty is very green, probably the greenest perfume I own except for Vacance by Jean Patou Heritage Collection. This does lean feminine but a man could wear this because it is very, very green. The rice flower gives it a sort of creaminess in the texture but this perfume is not powdery. The ginger is slight, adding a bit of warmth to very aquatic floral accords. I do pick up quite a bit of Iris. If you have ever smelled an Iris flower it has a watery texture to its scent. This is a very good perfume for spring and summer months, it is crisp green w/out being sharp and it is watery clean and fresh. I rather like it. I won't wear it now but I will when the 1st watery green of spring appears next year.

ExplorerGirl

The sum total of this fragrance is far better than the notes would indicate at first glance. There is no sharp green-ness in this Beauty! From first sniff it is a delicate and rounded slightly sweet floral with a warm amber vanilla musky base. It is a love from the beginning to the end. Lasting power of ~6 hours on my skin, longer on clothing. I am so glad I did not pass this one up as I usually do not like green fragrances. It is a true gem of an easy reach perfume.

GinCatsBooks

Arden Beauty falls firmly into the green floral catagories to my nose, it has a green freshness followed by gentle floral notes rounded off with a gentle, soft musky base.

The opening is sharp but instantly it settles down and top notes of fresh bergamot and green notes become instantly aparent, they never really go away either; some tart rhubarb, dewy lily and powdery iris emerge and gently settle in before lotus starts to emerge and gives Arden Beauty a humid/aquatic feel but it never veers into the typical aquatic territory. After a good 4 hours the lotus fades to the backrgound and a warm sandalwood and soft musk round out the base, but it all works so well together and it never looses its fresh, uncomplicated nature which I love because it makes me feel like I've just stepped out of the shower all day even if I've been busy and rushed off my feet.

Longevity and silage are great; 7 hours of wear and a moderate silage, its kind of like a soft t-shirt and jeans in a bottle, its perfect for casual wear year round, but especially in the warmer months as the green notes, rhubarb and lily give freshness and lotus prevents the sandalwood and musk from becoming too strong and cloying, it also equally can work well for more formal events and office wear.
The price point is amazing; I paid £6.99 for a 30ml in TK Maxx but 50 and 100ml bottles are also available online for not much more, even at full price its still very reasonable!
Another Elizabeth Arden gem!

kcoughlin

This is a really good price. The scent is pleasant and interesting, gives off a vibe that is mature but not old.

Catsylvania

The reason why I absolutely adore Elizabeth Arden fragrances (meanwhile pretending not to be hopelessly addicted to their Ceramide skincare range) is that you get so much value for your money. This huge 100ml bottle was like, what? $15 on a special at my local chemist. I knew already this was meant to be a nice green floral freshie with a powdery twist so I blind bought this assuming it would stand in the league of my powdery florals which are perfect to wear during hot and humid summers.

I can definitely tell the green notes, the really strong orchid presence, rice flower and iris, and, of course, lotus. Won't comment on the other notes because I find it's best not to nitpick the whatever doesn't come off as obvious.

Arden Beauty is most certainly a safe, totally non offensive pick suitable for a work or casual day (ah, probably not too much opulence for a night out but beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, right?) but it's not a spineless floral. It's got some guts, and though aquatic and somewhat aquarelle, it's still surprisingly strong and bold. I confess, I personally don't get the ginger spiciness or much lily, but the overall impression to me is akin to swimming in a pond with lotus flowers, with orchids blossoming above you.

Beautiful is the powderiness which, probably thanks to the rice flower, turns not into a typical dry nostril burning note but into something that's almost creamy in its consistency. It adds some nice weight to the orchid and some overall character to what's essentially are some typical green watery floral notes.

Silage is moderate, however, I found that longevity is beyond spectacular. My mother said something that this frag could make some of the world's best scent to go along with your laundry liquid. I certainly wouldn't complain to have my clothes smell that great haha.

Best worn during hot and humid summers when you want a refreshment with some strong character.

corgi02

I really like the top notes but it dried down very quickly to the generic base notes on me. Base notes smelled very cheap and common. From what my Mom used to call the dime store.. before there was Walmart..

odie

"Arden Beauty" is a fresh, versatile and uplifting floral fragrance. Since I struggle with green notes in perfume, I was hesitant to try this, although when sampled I did not think it was a green floral at all.

However, it works for me and I love it! The Italian bergamot and living rice flower I get off the bat, then the ginger lily, rubrum lily and blue lotus flower. The dry down is sweet, shy and sensual with white amber, skin sensual musk and a bit of Indian sandalwood holding sway. This perfume is a tad naughty and creates a clean and sensuous aura.

I've always loved this fragrance and now it is in my collection. It is playful and confident and is sure to create a lovely trail on a cool summers day, business lunch or dinner at your favourite restaurant. Suitable for nights or days. Sillage is moderate and will surely waft well, longevity is very good!

xtenshiai

This made me realise that I hate perfumes that are green and sharp. It was passed down to me by an aunt who didn't like it either. I ended up using it as a room spray (though my sister always complained as she hated the scent too).

Letitlinger

I first bought this in the spring and got nothing but dusty dusty DUSTY green plastic theatre curtains, despite the lovely notes. It's late autumn here now and upon trying it again, it's a good watery green floral, with a wonderful chewy sour sweet something in the opening to heart that I never detected previously. It's in a similar vein to Cartier's Baiser Vole but more floral; softer and rounder. No idea if my tastes have changed, my nose has "improved", this is a better time of year for it, or if it needed to macerate a bit (yes even this cheapie). Will check when it's warm again.

Agreed with many below, good for casual to workplace, simple, classy and clean for everyday wear. Can't go wrong if you're a aquatic green fan on a budget.

Tolkashutka

Received a darn near full bottle of this in a recent swap. I know I’m mega-late to the party, but Beauty is my first Arden scent that I’ve tried (next up: Green Tea and Sunflowers), and so far, I’m impressed.

I’ve smelled these notes before, but nothing in the “reminds me of” section is ringing any bells. The green opening faintly reminds me of Cartier’s Carat, but the differences become much more pronounced as the very fresh and green top notes fade, and Carat is far more floral than Beauty. Maybe the rhubarb here is reminiscent of MJ’s Perfect, but much less sweet? If anything, Arden Beauty is much more tame and less wildly complex than the rhubarb rollercoaster that is Mugler’s Aura.

It’s a very nice springtime scent--fresh and uplifting. I find it hard to really break apart each of these notes and therefore firmly categorize this scent, other than to say that it is very green, fresh, and clean. “Floral green” sounds about right. Longevity is so-so, around the 6 hour mark before it becomes difficult to detect on my chest.

Interestingly enough, I can’t put this into any one age category--I think it would be just as delightful on a young high school girl as it would be on her grandmother. The younger girl might *prefer* a sweeter scent, but wearing this fragrance shouldn’t/wouldn’t be off-putting to anyone, aside from individual preferences. Especially for the price, it’s hard for me to find anything to criticize about it. Safe for work, easy to love price, and an attractive enough bottle make for an easy warm-weather (late spring / all summer) reach.

Dani C.

Smells like roses steems recently cut. Very green, fresh, perfect for a hot summer day. I have nothing like that in my collection and I really enjoy it. Performance is also good. I get at least 6 hours on my skin and it lasts on my clothing until I wash them.
@deepgreenbeauty

Bluevelvet22

This scent always surprises me when I wear it. I think its quite unique and different from the other light floral scents in my collection. I picked up a large bottle very cheaply and wear it when I want to feel like a spring garden!. It begins with sharp dry green notes that are very enjoyable especially in spring/summer time. Then it quickly becomes a layered floral with a warm heart that I find very pretty. Some days I get a lot of rose and lily (rose is not listed as a note?), other days I seem to notice more orchid. I have never really noticed musk or amber but I can just pick out the sandalwood. If I wear it every day I quickly stop being able to smell it at all but if I take a break for a few weeks then wear it again I can smell it all day. It seems to last particularly well under clothing and is nice sprayed on a scarf. Inspired by other posts on this page I sometimes layer it with Tea Rose or strangely Rhianna Crush!

jsb41

Beauty is a great name for this fragrance. It’s not your typical EA green tea scent at all. It’s very soft and fresh. Definitely a floral but it’s quite muted. This smell reminds me of that nice lady at church who always hugs you and tells you how wonderful you are. She just smells nice and has a sweet smile. Yeah, it’s that kind of fragrance. Not a heavy floral at all. I can almost detect a slight rosy note but nothing too strong. I think this would be an excellent fragrance for work any time of the year. Really like this one. She’s a beaut.

Sienna_Elise

This could be a flanker for 212 Carolina Herrera minus the musky element. It's the greener version of steely cold 212. It's green, fresh and crisp and VERY green and sharp for the first 30 mins. I feel it is suited to very warm, humid days (rather than the obvious choice of a spring day). On my skin it is rather sour but after 30 mins it turns into a gorgeous, soft, soapy delightful perfume.

gtabasso

Lotus, green, orchid, musk; this is a light sweet summer floral that is watery and a little salty. Ambergris seems present. I wished the tart rhubarb was here but it isn't so prominent. It just balances this and prevents it from being a big white floral. The musk is a clean light white musk. Nothing really special. Nice for summer. Probably not a compliment getter. Not something I would reach for often. It is spring here. I am going to try again in the heat. It might blossom. Right now it's a bit cold and austere.

Roses and Thyme

Very lovely, gentle perfume. Stays close to my skin. Not strong or overwhelming but lasts all day on my skin. Blind buy, as others have said, and a good one. Will be wonderful for spring and summer.

TangoPinkMartini

Such a lovely surprise. I thought at first, after just sniffing the nozzle, that it would be like 5th Avenue ( which I adore), but I tested it anyway, and was rewarded wth a burst of gorgeous fresh floral, followed a few minutes later by lovely aquatic notes. It’s now a firm favourite 🥰

liat

Was dirt cheap when I blind bought this. It has a very "perfume-y" vibe, fake-green with some fake-fresh florals. It's the utter opposite of fresh or green. Having said that, it's surprisingly long lasting and will serve well in warmer days when all one can use is body spray.

mauvealert

A lovely and slightly quirky green and musky lily-centric floral that won't break the bank. Nice all-arounder for work or the weekend, the vibe is playful but put-together. It starts strong on me, quite a blast of white floral and citrus, the first half hour is a bit in-your-face but it dries down into a gorgeous musky rice flower that reminds me of Bath and Body Works' discontinued Rice Flower and Shea but fresher. This is one of those where I keep getting whiffs of something delicious and finally realise it's me. The watery aspect shines on a rainy day, whereas on a hot sunny day I find it more yummy but still aquatic, like eating rice pudding by the pool... nice.

Madyana

Watery soap. Two things I avoid when choosing fragrances, why?
Because I already have Arden's beauty. I think this is the best and for me the only one in this genre. I don’t think even if I’m looking to find better! This opening is so beautiful, I love the combination of sharp rhubarb, powdery Iris and watery lotus. Drying is soapy, but not so strong as to irritate my nose. And watery, but still so intense that it easily lasts on my skin all day.
A real beauty! Big love.

A fragrance to apply on a humid day directly after your skin is cooled down from a dip in the pool, or a cold shower. It's fresh and cool...but incredibly warm at the same time. It's not aquatic per se, but more like a lily scented breeze by a rainforest waterfall.

Scent doesn't usually evoke imagery for me but this one does very succinctly. The delicate skin scent drydown though...love!

This lovely little number is like hitting an olfactory reset button for a tired nose. Truly a beauty.

Isn't it a universal truth that as we evolve and mature, so do our olfactory bulbs 😊
I remember trying this BEAUTY over a decade ago. I purchased it blindly hoping for a miracle and to my bitter disappointment, I could not stand the fragrance on my skin 😳 I was only at the beginning of the fragrance adventure which turned out to be a long lasting one. I tested Arden Beauty on numerous occasions and each time felt like gagging, rushing to the bathroom to scrub it off my wrist. I happily gave it away to someone who was somehow a little bit fonder of it than myself.
Last year I accidentally ended up with a miniature. I decided to reminisce the old times when as a Rookie perfumista I used to blindly buy perfumes to establish my own taste and fragrant identity. I'm glad I did as I instantly felt the connection and couldn't help but indulged in catching whiffs of it as I was out for a walk. All of a sudden I felt drawn to the crisp of green notes combined with delicate, yet clearly detectable floral notes and a hint of musk. It lasted on my skin some 6-7 hours and my scarf remained beautifully fragrant for next couple of weeks. I was absolutely gobsmacked: the fragrance I once detested with my heart, now, became my obsession and since that day I haven't been able to part with it.
I feel that as I grew and matured, my taste evolved from vanilla/gourmand towards floral and green fragrances. I'm under spell of crispy notes, fresh, floral, feminine, classy and I'd like to think that this is the perfect way to describe Arden Beauty.
A beautiful quality classy fragrance at a ridiculously low price. Not for the faint hearted or sweet notes lovers.
From hate to love, my relationship with Arden Beauty resulted in the fragrance becoming my signature.
It's a definite keeper ❤

natalia6032

I blind-bought this as I like EA perfumes and it was so cheap, and I'm glad I did. Green perfumes aren't usually my cup of tea as I find them quite harsh but this one isn't- the opening is definitely green, very fresh, but it develops into something else entirely, warm and creamy- it reminds me of dove or nivea soap but nicer. The ginger is there too. Very interesting, not linear at all, and smells way better than the price may suggest.

LadyPilot

I used to have it years ago. I disliked it so much that I decided to give it away. However, every time late October came and the golden leaves started to fall on foggy days, I missed this sharp, awkward, bitter/sour/aromatic scent from Arden. This sensation reoccured every year for over 10-14 years... Until today I finally repurchased it at a ridiculous price - 25,90PLN (ca £5) per 50ml. And I'm sooo happy! The leaves are slowly falling down, the weather is humid but not rainy and the air is filled with the aroma of the damp fallen leaves - so similar to Arden Beauty! The notes mention ginger and rhubarb - well, on deeper thought -YES, these are dominant. Musk, amber, wood? NO WAY! There's absolutely nothing warm about this scent! It's inherently cold, damp and slightly spicy. But still beautiful, it's an Autumn Beauty.

Seaworthy

I purchased Arden Beauty blind, not quite knowing what to expect but intrigued by the rhubarb and rice flower notes. I am not disappointed! It is absolutely beautiful! Green, fresh, slightly spicy and warm, the perfect all around weather or occasion fragrance. It stays close to the skin on me but I can smell it quite distinctly and I've been wearing it for over 3 hours now. I really like it and I am very happy to have Arden Beauty in my collection.

Scented understatement
Hello dears ! Today again a comment to an Elizabeth Arden fragrance. This time Ardenbeauty, a fragrance that unfortunately hasn't been on the perfumery shelves for a long time. In a time when sweet gourmand fragrances are the hottest sellers, it's hard for scents with understatement to hold their own. I really like many of the brand's fragrances, as they are of solid quality and offer great value for money.
The scent is difficult to judge at first sight. Rather, it tempts you to misjudge it. One may be inclined to dismiss it as fresh and unimpressive. Yet it has so much depth. In the beginning, I couldn't understand why a) Catherine Zeta-Jones is the "face" of the perfume and b) the color red was chosen for the packaging or the cap. Now that I know Ardenbeauty well, I understand both of these reasons to be a logical choice. Despite its green, sparkling freshness, the fragrance conveys a warmth that I think comes from the ginger lily. For this purpose I want to post what I have found on the net about this plant:
The spice lily has a unique scent - both its leaves and rhizome and roots - so typical that the scent regularly transports you to the atmosphere of Asian shops: Floral, mysterious, exotic. One of the most important ingredients in the cuisine of Southeast Asia are the fleshy roots and rhizomes, which are reminiscent of ginger ... The spice lily has a euphoric, aphrodisiacal and even intoxicating effect. It has a stimulating effect on the central nervous system.
There you go Catherine's a perfect fit, isn't she?
In any case, I find the scent magical, it is anything but harmless fresh. Subtly erotic, and it lasts a long time - especially on clothes. It smells so wonderful even one day after spraying it on, I could bury my nose in it ...
A real insiders' tip, then. Don't be put off by the low price, because it smells anything but cheap. Besides, do you want to smell like ALL?

D3G

perhaps it's the Rhubarb, it doesn't look like a fruit but apparently behave like one:)

D3G

I'm so happy that I haven't bought a bigger bottle at this moment, but I remember liking it when I bought it.
It doesn't have fruits that generally turn bad on me... maybe next time I like it again.
Elizabeth Arden is another big name that one associate with high quality and it makes you so happy to find it at a good price but in the end not very long lasting, original or great packaging(some bad actually)

FragrantMama

This is a very elegant and refined perfume but at the same time it feels effortless and casual. This would be great to wear at work as it is light and non offensive. I am a big fan of most of the Elizabeth Arden fragrances. They all smell so good and are such a reasonable price! This perfume is no exception and it really is a beauty. So airy and light and pretty.

gmr1967

This Maison always offers wonderful fragrances at more than affordable prices. And the added value of highly prestigious perfume noses like in this case, Antoine Lie, creator of many niche perfumes (Etat Libre D'Orange) Here we have a very fresh flowery where the green notes at the opening are very present. The slightly sparkling heart for ginger and rhubarb is felt and then the warm sweetness of the bottom with amber and sandalwood. Non invasive, perfect to wear in the workplace, it does not leave the trail but the fragrance is felt in a light and elegant way. I love this EDP which always remains an evergreen and modern fragrance.

Jacquis

Arden's Beauty is a fresh, green, watery and elegant floral which is perfect in the Spring/Summer season. Very versatile, bright and modern. I get an aquatic floral effect which I assume is from the combination of the lotus, lily and green notes. I also get some tea. Very fresh and elegant floral.

Polinka

Whoa! A beauty indeed. You know why.. because beauty doesn't need to be loud for someone to notice. It's just there by itself, it doesn't need affirmation. A discreet aroma, like the fresh breeze you can sense in the summer morning when you go outside. Some citrus, some greens all mixed together. And there somewhere between all the citrus trees and grass there is a lake with this incredible lotus flowers. How can you not adore this perfume? Also... a little secret - this kinda reminds me of L'eu par by Kenzo :)

Alces Alces

Arden Beauty is a good fragrance to wear on a rainy day. The notes - maybe the lotus or the rhubarb? - give the impression of wet leaves. Not aquatic, but wet, like wet green things. It's synthetic but has a natural smell to it.
Not a bit dated at all. If someone told me this was a new niche scent, I would believe them.
One caveat - Not a safe choice for heat and humidity. There's a rich floral side to this that would be sharp on a sunny day. But for a cool, rainy day, it is excellent.

Anna Pantherina

Without much planning and deliberation, this beauty quite unexpectedly just flew into my fragrant world.
The very beginning, a little bitchy and angry no matter what, I was kind of comfortable !!! I even surprised myself. Rhubarb I have no idea how they smell, but iris, intoxicating orchid and gentle lotus I clearly recognize after a while. yarn, there is a ginger that gives freshness and alertness to the perfume. Very creamy with a powder foundation. What intrigues me most is that when the top notes are finished, it is like creating a double-layer green, even dark green, lower that fine creamy smell that I feel; sometimes I feel a little more the first layer, sometimes the second, but they certainly go sideways (like tertiary in music) and in that unusual green-white symbiosis, they create a fantastic feeling when worn. Someone says Zen just like that.
p.s As I sink deeper into the age of wisdom, I think more and more about "green" perfumes, and I want to capture as much springtime as possible.

dennisisahypocrite

A fresh and green perfume. Very polite and subtle. When I first had it, I thought to myself "why does nobody tell me that this smells of tea, because it does". But on second thought, this does not really smell of tea, it just happens that a lot of the tea I drink, smells like this.

Also reminds me of Jack&Jill's Lemon Iced Tea candy. Delicious and affordable.

Happiness_in_a_Bottle

I want to do this perfume justice. It is so inexpensive that you'd think it smells cheap. Newsflash: it doesn't. It is an elegant and classy green floral. Totally timeless and office appropriate. I wear it in winter, in spring, in autumn. Maybe not in massive summer heat.

I can smell the green vibe. The longevity is very good. I can smell it on myself even after 6 or 7 hours in the office. I absolutely love it and I reach for it a lot. First, I bought a 30 ml bottle and used it up. Then I got a 100 ml bottle and it's almost half gone.

Do not underestimate it. I don't remember smelling something similar to it. Maybe there are perfumes that resemble it.

mevans

I picked up a 100ml bottle at Winners for $16 as a blind buy. It's Elizabeth Arden so I thought it should be pretty safe. I'm so glad I did. I think it must be one of those sleeper gems that just don't get the attention they deserve. It's clean, fresh, an elegant floral that will work nicely anywhere. It never overwhelms or makes a statement, it's reserved and modest and just makes you smell awesome.

taskin259

Arden Beauty is in my top 3 for sure. it gives me so much bliss and happiness, nothing to compare. I just love it! mild, soft yet effective. I always love its smell.

margoess

Recently bought a bottle of this, based on recommendations here and the super cheap price. I've sprayed it on myself a few times since it arrived, and my overall impressions are that it seems... fine. It's not unpleasant. It seems pretty easy to throw on. It's a good value for the cost. But it isn't really making an impression on me. I don't feel like this has much personality or anything particularly memorable going on. My feelings for the scent seem to match the bottle itself: the glass seems solid enough and of decent quality, but there's not really much 'design' to speak of, and it doesn't seem thoughtful enough to be intentionally minimalistic.

I have to wonder if I wouldn't feel more effusive about it if it had come in a bottle from Byredo or L'Artisan or Maison Margiela, or even something like Kenzo. Am I not able to look past the basic... Elizabeth Arden-ness of it to really appreciate the scent for what it is? I am honestly not sure, and it's bugging me!

The first few times I tried it, it led off with extremely realistic green, leafy, grassy notes, and it stayed a watery, grassy thing until it faded away into something vague and dewy. Today, I'm getting something that's still green, but slightly zesty (bergamot with some rhubarb and/or ginger peeking through? very gentle aldehydes?) and a tiny bit sweet. A little like someone sitting next to you opened up a bottle of Sprite and there are fresh cut flowers in a vase on the table. The leafier notes come to the forefront again after a few minutes, and it ultimately settles into a watery, transparent, greenish floral. (Is this what lotus flowers smell like? I have no idea.) It's a shower fresh scent. There's also something about the drydown that strikes me as vaguely "'90s department store"—but then, is that just my brain whispering, "it's Elizabeth Arden!" in my ear?

Sits very close to the skin, testing indoors in late winter/early spring. I imagine this could feel quite different outside on a sunny, warm day. So... patience. I will wait for the seasons to change, and then who knows? Maybe Beauty will bloom and start to feel like *something*.

JustSimpleThings

I really liked the freshness of the opening! Green notes, dewy, aldehydes feel...

But half an hour in... (and for many hours after that....)

Hell nooo!!! So floral, so powdery... very-very mature vibes for me, I'm so sorry to say this! It gives me mimosa (yellow floral) vibes, which I firmly dislike. This was a scrubber for me.

WijayantiKusuma

Such an underrated perfume, just because it’s a cheapie. It fits the name, Beauty. Green and florals are perfectly blends. People, give some more love for Beauty!

Tea&Witchery

This is a lovely, light, bright whitish floral. Nothing too special but it will certainly make you smell good. Very office safe. Best for spring and summer, in my opinion. It would be good for church. The only "challenging" part is an odd little tiny stale cigarette smoke note in the bottle and just at the beginning. That dissipates very quickly but it does make me wonder a bit what they were thinking.
5/10

pjspaceshit

If this bottle had a Chanel logo on it, people would pay unreasonably high prices for it! And don't get me wrong, I love the quality and character of Chanel fragrances, so the fact that Arden Beauty feels to me like it could be one of them is a big compliment for the fragrance.

It's very simple feminine scent. Nothing extraordinary, but gets the job done. Opens up with a burst of bergamot and iris (very Chanel-esque) and later settles into soft floral with a clean edge. If you want to smell like hundred bucks while paying less than ten, this is a scent I would recommend you to try.

octobertragedy

A beautiful green, floral fragrance. To me this smells like a million blooming cherry trees. This is a fragrance that truly smells like spring. I also get lilly, lotus, iris, violets and fresh cut grass, and in the dry down something creamy that is probably rice flower.
A very safe, extremely feminine fragrance, long wearing and good quality for the price. My bottle dates from 2003, I don't know about the new formulations performances, but mine stays on my skin for 10-12 hours. A real gem.

Top: iris, bergamot, rice flower and green notes
middle: orchid, ginger, rhubarb, lotus and lily
base: sandalwood, amber and musk

I have come to the conclusion that Elizabeth Arden’s fragrances are my favorites. I enjoy scents that are clean, fresh, florally... ones you think of reaching for when the temps are high and the sun makes everything hot. I work a lot, and I need frags that won’t offend my coworkers or my clientele.

When I first spritz Arden Beauty on my skin, I get a burst of white florals. As it settles, creamy sandalwood comes through. This scent would be perfect as a gift set if a lotion and shower gel were included. Since I don’t have either, spraying it in my hair and clothes helps with longevity and sillage.

Definitely a daytime scent, but if you have a special someone whose favorite scents are clean, creamy, and floral, then this is perfect to wear on date nights too ❤️

Tasali

Normally I only go for sweet girly perfumes and gourmand, but this smell really caught me offguard. It makes me think of my parents garden an early summer-morning after a rainy night. The house is sold a long time ago and that garden only exists in my memories, until now.
I still remember the dewey grass, the fruit trees the berry bushes the rhubarb and the field of flowers. All of it surrounded by a thick Swedish pineforest.
I do not love the perfume but I love the memories it triggered, it smells like spring and summer.
A strong like from me.
It starts with a discrete classic soapy vibe but for once I'm ok with that.

lrnonken

fresh crisp classy floral, fades somewhat quickly

sweetongene

This week I've explored some Elizabeth Arden scents (White Tea, Green Tea, and now this). This "Beauty" is a surprise to me. Did not expect the first spray to be so off-putting. It was sharp and had some sort of disturbing note in there. Somebody said Rhubarb. Maybe that is it. But I gave it a chance. It settled down fast and I forgot about it. About forty minutes later, I got such a nice waft of blended beauty- but it still has a presence. I really like it. I'm not head over heels intrigued, but that's okay. Those kinds of scents burn out quickly for me. I'll definitely wear this. Not as quickly and spontaneously as "Green Tea" or "White Tea". "Beauty" needs a little planning around it,to carry it off (in my opinion anyway).

JubaBlossom

Starts with a hint of cucumber, then quickly heads toward strong calla lilly, orchid, then a bit of that peak floral spicieness, then subtle iced milked English breakfast, babies breath sweetness, powder, maybe a hint of dandelion. Makes me think of snow and christmas. Strong. a powerful feminine business scent. Harsher than what I usually want. But if you want to smell cool and formidable at the same time, this is a great choice.

Clare101

Wow! I love this fragrance. It smells fresh, juicy floral and
sufficiently complex for it not to be "boring". It has the right balance of everything. It is an underrated gem. It is best worn in spring and early summer. It is also one of the few fragrances to not have been reformulated since it was released!

daliflora

Sorry dear admirers of this fragrance, but to me it smells harsh fresh and synthetic. I tried to wear it for a while as an inoffensive smell added to some casual outfit. I appreciated its playful vibe, but disliked its being so synthetic. Now I use it only as an air freshner in the bathroom.

Maryxcontrary

Now l finally understand what people mean when they describe a perfume as 'green'
Beauty smells so green to me! Exactly like a bouquet of wet flowers, the smell of the stems right at the forefront.
Wow, what an interesting perfume.

Matheya

Truly a Beauty ! Fresh florals with ginger ! There's elegance to it. Maybe the ginger and the amber make it more interesting. Did not expect to like it that much.
It's like a water down version of Twilly by Hermes.

justfloral

Lilac bush after a solid rain + jasmine + metallic, aquatic, grassy note (incense + lily?). Very "zen", japanese fragrance, one of Arden's best ones.

wan.syahmir.amiruddin

Tips for blind buying: google the fragrance first....check notes...check what groups of fragrance that are more to your liking...
This one is a disappointment for me..the notes are so green on me...at some point its just bland....no sillage or lasting power....by tht i mean by 1 hour...youll forget that you sprayed this one on you earlier....dont blind buy folks unless you know what type of perfumes you like...as for me i fancy the oriental vanilla...hence, if somehow i decide to blind buy again ill find something that is within that group..for this arden beauty i score 3/10

Jobob

I bought this after reading the reviews. I really like it. It's a light green floral that's perfect for warm weather. The green notes don't last long on me then the not overly sweet florals kick in.

Thoriq Dorz

First 2 hours this fragrance smell like deodorant exactly for me. Then I can smell something pleasent for the rest. I can smell amber and musk blend so well. Its a little spicy. The projection good and the longevity 6 hours for me. Its light so you can use it as your daily fragrance.

charlie.aeroplane

smells so RAW, like a beautiful natural woman skin.pure like a runlet. but also some coquettish delicate lipstick.
I wish I can find something like this but stronger.
But on hot weather, I love that you can rapply without worries.

PaperGhost

Well now, isn’t this an underrated little gem. Don’t let the ridiculously low price deceive you - this is a quality frag and in no way does it smell cheap. Perfect for the warmer months, the ginger and rhubarb lift this away from being just a boring floral, but it’s not a scent that is likely to offend anyone. I blind bought it after seeing it mentioned on this site, and I only bought 30ml, but I’ll probably get a bigger bottle when I’ve used it up.

WildDove

Arden Beauty seems much heavier on the sandalwood and amber than fragrantica votes would suggest. Generic, sharp, long lasting. Heavy and substantial glass bottle. Overall, a "no go" for me.

DarlingNikki

This was one of my first 'grown-up' fragrances that I asked my mother to buy for me and boy was it a mistake! I loved the smell from the bottle, but once it hit my skin the lily and musk absolutely screamed off of me until I was forced to scrub it off. Whew, I remember it was so sharp, green and musky on me. I do still have the bottle for sentimental reasons, but I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole now since it's back from the date of its release in 2002, LOL!

Tigi

One of the few "women's" Beast-mode scents, scoring 10/10 from me for performance (Sillage, or Projection moderate to enormous, depending on application as well as Longevity/ Duration - this one wears like a champion, lasting 12 hours or more).

EXTREMELY SIMILAR TO Mugler's Aura Mugler. The unique rhubarb note is prominent in each, and that *does* provide a strong similarity between the two. They're not dopplegangers for one another (as in, not 'dupes') but siblings to be sure, like two different children from the same parents. The similarity is uncanny and hit me the MOMENT I first wore Aura (as I've been wearing Arden's Beauty for years and years now). The two are, at the least, like first cousins.

The scent to me is a good 9/10. This composition does read a tad bit "sharp" but only ever so slightly, and I find this girl has a slight 'edge' to her because of that hint of sharpness. Overall, she is chilly, bright, clean, and feminine without apology. Ladylike to be sure, but do not confuse her for timid or unsure. This is the kind of fragrance that evokes an easy elegance; whether you wear her with a t-shirt and jeans or as the olfactory accessory to that classic blood-red velvet evening gown, Elizabeth Arden Beauty will completely 'make' the ensemble.
The sharpness subsides within 30 minutes of application (for me) and though the drydown doesn't reveal individual notes, the overall composition is distinctive, unique, beautiful, memorable.
I see the comparison to Elizabeth Taylor's Forever Elizabeth and will say this: they are likely cousins bearing similarities but not siblings, and certainly not twins. To my nose, Forever Elizabeth has a much, much softer projection but I think many who enjoy Forever Elizabeth and also appreciate similar, but bolder, scents, would very likely enjoy THIS aptly-named Beauty.

Sadly, many will more than likely deliberately overlook EA Beauty by simple virtue of the ridiculously-low price-point. But I will always have this excellent fragrance in my own collection and hope that EA never discontinues or reformulates her. From first sniff when she debuted to this very moment, Beauty holds a permanent place in my wardrobe as well as in my heart.

Just gorgeous!!!
Beautiful enough for me, in fact, to merit signature status (and, due to her affordability, she is a much more modest and intelligent choice to BE my signature given her excellence combined with hilariously-low pricing). Incidentally, when she debuted, I paid close to $50 USD for a small bottle.

But of course my signature changes all the time based on a whim.

Shelacious

I bought this fragrance for the rhubarb note and because someone mentioned the similarity to Elizabeth Taylor's Forever. I do really like the fragrance, although I cannot smell it on myself at all. I mostly smell the ginger and the iris in this one. It doesn't smell much like Forever to me, but again, I like it a lot, because of the spice/floral combo, like a Floriental. For the price point it's a great buy. I just wish is had more sillage on me.

wuzzybear15

I was given this by my Mum it's ok I kind of like fresher sweet perfumes.I wear it in house or for work.No one's said it's awful so maybe it's nice!

diamond74

I blind bought this fragrance this summer and I can't say that I really like this one. On me it's a very sharp, green and powdery smell. And as one fellow fragrantica member said it has a strange cigarette note, that I also picked up on. It's not a horrible perfume, it's just not my taste.

Starlett_Sexton

I love the smell of Arden beauty but it's also very fleeting doesn't last that long at all. Good summer scent or to the office!

felicite34

I have had this one for a while, not sure I liked it at first. But, I am wearing it in the summer now and this is a very nice hot weather perfume. I never had the experience of a perfume changing personality that much on the season.

It has a "tart" note and is not overpowering. I wear this one to the office a lot. very nice.

florina_81bobo

My first sniff took me to an asian image, a fresh green field of rice, I don't know why, I didn't even know this perfume contains rice flower (rice flower? is that for real by the way?). But I absolutely love it, aquatic, fresh, clean, delicate and extremly feminine, long lasting, but not overwhelming, I feel it around me the whole day...

yayu.kholie

I love this perfume. First it smelled a little bitter green but the dry down was really great. I remember one of my lecturer stopped near me and said where is this smell from (in a good way).

Would i repurchase it? Yes definitely
Great everyday perfume, not offensive in anyway.

FireDragon76

I tested Beauty when my mother in-law had it in a 30ml bottle and I remember thinking it was too sharp and too green for my skin chemistry and no one seems to like obvious green notes on me, not even those who like green fragrances on themselves. I don't know if the 100ml bottle is formulated differently, lighter or if my skin chemistry and tastes have changed. Now I think it's bright or sparkly, not sharp nor offensive in any way.

Today when I tested it in store, the opening was bright but not sharp, it's still a tad too green in the opening for my taste but it quickly morphs into the middle notes and musk on me. The woody note isn't as strong as I remember either. It was never sweet on me but there's something creamy in it which I've recently developed a taste for; on the creamier side of swwet rather than just sweet notes.

I ended up buying Dream Petals because I'd been so set on that fragrance since last year, but I'm beginning to wonder if Beauty is more my kind of fragrance at 40. For 100ml bottle, it was so cheap that once I run out of a couple of other safe fragrances, I'll buy Beauty if I can still find it.

AudreysMama

Fresh, airy, not too sweet, almost something 'sparkling' to it. Definitely feminine, but not overly girly. It's not 'too' anything. It's not too loud, it's not too much, it's not too warm or cool, not too weak or strong. It's a perfect 'every occasion' scent. I feel like my review isn't doing it justice... my descriptions make it sound plain and while I suppose it is in a way, it's special in that it's both refreshing and comforting. Soothing. Any weather, any woman, any situation. Understated but beautiful. Have repurchased and will again.

artemis16

Light, pleasant but it has a note that to me appears aquatic and I hate it - in all perfumes.

I think it's generally inoffensive, I'd be fine with this scent if it weren't for this one note. I've had to pass it on to someone who will appreciate it.

If anyone has an idea which note it might be so I can avoid it, I'd be grateful.

ElleNell

Sweet, pleasant. For a more mature woman perhaps.

Toronto_pro

Where is honeysuckle? Even though it is not listed - this is how it opens on me. I thought I was confused and smelled one of my candles with honeysuckle scent - it's identical.

It stays 5 min, then iris kicks in, then amber.

If I didn't see the pyramid, I would think these are some warm yellow flowers (even dandelion)!

It is definitely warm-flowery.

[email protected]

I love the fresh green notes on this one.. perfect for a hot summer day... sadly, it does not last on my skin beyond 2 hours on a hot day (I stay in India)..

socorrosouza

Enough with old lady !!!!!!! If you don't like, you don't like, say my thing is not florals I like to smell like a pudding and that is nothing wrong with that!!!! But don't denigrate a scent that others may love (as is my case) and label it with the death knell "old lady tag" !!!!! If you are unimaginative try other tags (like smells like an elephant in heat on MY skin) and understand that it is on YOUR SKIN and not in everyone else's. And remember that barring an overestimated early death you will also become old and someone will belittle you with that same tag. There is no amount of cosmetic surgery that prevents you from aging.

That said Beauty on MY skin is a long lasting delightful spicy floral with lotus as main note and rhuibarb and ginger as secondary notes with a green undertone. On me it has moderate sillage and lasts for 7/8 hours suitable for all seasons, as it is not too sweet (which is the death knell on over 100F temps).

mayyay90

Elizabeth Arden perfume Beauty is the one of the best from Elizabeth Arden collection . It is very lady , very elegant, very unusual fresh , crystal clear smell of flowers perfume with green notes . On my opinion , it is not powdery at all , just the green and crystal clear the perfume with flowers notes You can wear that perfume every days , even to the job and feel valuable lovely lady . The long lasting around 4 - 6 hours ( on the clothes it longer ) and the sillage is moderate . I prefer to wear it in the winter , the spring time , in the windy days . I would describe the woman , who wear that perfume like she is the beautiful , she is independent , she is sophisticated , she is desireable , she is the proud , she is the lady .

atreyuas

I had this many years ago but I only smelled it again a few days ago. Now I can remember why I gave my bottle away.

The smell I get from the spray nozzle is nondescript - very hard to pick out specific notes. The notes come out more once I spray it on my skin, but on me they're a complete mess. A first get a huge blast of alcohol, then HUGE green notes, iris, lotus and ginger - none of which work on me individually, and blended together, smell like sharp, powdery antiseptic. The dry-down intensifies the ginger and clashes with something I can't quite place ... It's very strong though, and after a few hours of wearing it recently, I had to wash it off. I wouldn't recommend it for close quarters.

Such a shame, as I know many women who adore this stuff. But I just can't stomach it. That said, I've never really liked green fragrances, and this is the one that I think may have convinced me of that. I'm sure it's my skin chemistry - just not for me.

phoebe25

I ordered this online, and I got it today in the mail. I've been wearing it for a couple of hours now.

Do I like it? Yes I do! It smells clean, fresh and classy. It´s the kind of fragrance that you can wear everyday. This might sound weird, but I get in such a good mood, when I smell this. Just like Elizabeth Taylor´s "Forever Elizabeth."

I also think this would work fine in places/situations where you have to interact with lots of people because it's not overwhelming. The bottle is also nice and classy.

Black Secret

A delectable, wonderful, unique and lovely perfume! Elizabeth Arden you've done wonders! Again!!! Precious perfume. Really beautiful. It's a strong contender for my favourite! My husband loves it too. It's so intensely floral, which I LOVE! But I'm amazed at how much I love the rice flower and ginger! I'm not very experienced with perfumes, only having started to really buy them recently, and I never thought I would like ginger! And rhubarb?! But I love them!! I love this perfume totally! It's super! And my husband reckons he loves the rice flower the most! I can definitely smell it too. Gorgeous smell!
Amazing things!!!
And what's more it lasts a heck of a long time, and the sillage is great. Perfection!

Missy0104

Found a 100ml bottle today perfectly sealed at an op shop for $5.00 so I have never smelt this scent before always walked passed it and bee lined for my heavy oriental scents. So in saying that first spray on wrist I get a blast of strong ginger and and floral mix. Then about 15 minutes a smell of fresh cucumber comes through to my nose (the green scent) now it's on the dry down and I sense a light powdery scent (sandalwood poking through with a hint of ginger and still fresh and light. As I never buy green scent perfumes for the price I paid why not try it out. This fragrance will not offend others stay close to your personal space. Great scent for springtime so this will get a good try then we are in winter now do my bold fragrances are out in force. Arden Beauty does have a beauty of her own unusual in a way. Wouldn't say I love it but if give it a chance at the right time may become something more

mmm777pisces

Oh this is my FAVOURITE scent!!! I have tried it today for the first time, and I AM IN SEVENTH HEAVEN!!! It's so gorgeous! I love love love it! It's the most gorgeous perfume I've EVER smelled! Oh goodness! It's divine! I can't get enough of it! IT'S TRULY BEAUTIFUL!!! God Elizabeth Arden, you are fantastic! I can't believe how much I love your perfumes! I only tried my first one 3 weeks ago, and I'm completely besotted. This one is it though! The best (mind you, I haven't tried all of them yet! - give me time!) I put it on at 4.30am, and it's still beautiful and strong now, at 12noon. Goodness me! Mmmmmm! Delicious stuff!!! Very florally and fruity mainly for me, but I believe I can smell every beautiful ingredient - amazing! And the sillage is great too!
Thank you Elizabeth Arden for giving me such a wonderful experience!! Swoon!

Aura Alexandra

I have received today "Beauty", and I am absolutely thrilled. "Beauty" is beautiful! Gorgeous! It is a sweet, powdery fragrance, but not the sweet which gives you headaches, but an elegant sweet. I can smell notes of lily and iris, it is definitely a floral perfume. Good for day wear, but I will give it a try tonight at my students' high school prom, because it is elegant and seems to suit night wear as well.
I am a fan of sweet fragrances and I am totally pleased with "Beauty".
Surely will purchase again.

meliecat

This is one of those perfumes that I bought for few women in my family for Xmas/birthdays and they all liked it! In the end I got tempted to get it for myself too..Sweet, but not too sweet, grown-up, but not heavy like most grown-up scents, it`s a safe choice, I guess and usually you can get it at a great price, so it`s a winner really..Nothing outstanding, but still pretty.

Kai'elle

Admittedly there is a sudden sharp cold blast at first spray ... but don't judge this little gem on her over excited entrance.

Give her a moment to gather herself and the classy, elegant, understated beauty will be revealed.

She is sexy...but not promiscuous.

She is subtle...but not demure.

She is confident...but not arrogant.

She could build an empire...in her bare feet, toes tucked into wet sand and wearing nothing but a smile :)

L: Moderate
S: Soft

This is the girl every man's mother hopes he will bring home...and every man's father dreams of :)

Hashimah85

Smells beauty mature perfume.soft sweet floral with a little musky or can I say green smell.I like it for it has a character for formal occasions but heavy for daily wearing.sillage and longevity not that great maybe because of hot and humid weather. Why did I say that?when I wear it in air conditioner room or rainy and windy day, it will show you it truth beauty.

shell_bell

Gorgeous perfume but doesn't work with my skin. ;)

I have a full bottle up for trade if anyone in the States is interested.

Mz Benie

Calm fragrance. Nothing bold or peculiar about it. This is the perfect fragrance if you simply want to blend in.

jacklynne

It smells good and when you sniff it in the bottle, it feels relaxing but it's not for everyday use. This was my perfume when I was in college and people find this scent offensive. I only did 2 sprays but this one makes me dizzy. This is good for work, though as it smells very professional.

ShiraJemJem

I love wearing this one in a rainy day because this fragrance is really polite and calming.

It's opening with clean, classy and feminine floral scent. And then ginger scent comes to tone it down and make it smells warmer. It's not super stand out but very memorable. It's like when you meet someone who beautiful from inside&out. Her beauty would stuck in your mind forever.
Exactly like this perfume. You can not forget about it after you smelled it. That's why it called 'arden beauty'. ;)

The lasting power is very impressive. It lasts about 8 hours on my skin. If you're looking for classy feminine perfume to represent your beauty, this is the perfect one for you. :)

hyperconformist

Some nice fresh cut flowers, lotus and peppery green notes...
but they're totally ovewhelmed by the overall artificial air-freshener sweetness. Gelly sweets and lily of the valley airfreshner - that's 90% of my EA Beauty experience
Sorry, folks, there's nothing sexy about this for me. I have a tester and I keep giving it a chance because there's a note hidden in there which intrigues me but EA Beauty is one of my scrubbers.

rednut

When first sprayed this smells like a mix of parma violets (the little purple sweets from way back) in a field of spring flowers. After about half an hour the rhubarb comes through albeit faintly and finally settling into a light musk with a touch of amber and sandalwood. It stays close to the skin and is a subtle scent. I don't think it could offend anyone but neither is it anything out of the ordinary. Its nice but not fantastic, certainly a floral green. It would be a good one to wear for work or for those who like a more traditional and subtle scent.

Nikkafragrance

I couldn't see the beauty of this fragrance for a long time, but today it hit me. This is a green little gem for spring. The sillage is soft.Perfect for all ages and ocassions. The opening is a mix of lotus, iris, green notes and lily. The ginger note is not overpowering, which is good for me. After two hours, it turns into a skin scent. Beauty is a very feminine fragrance.

callalotus

i love the lotus smell. On me, this is the smell that lasting. unfortunately the rhubarb smell (i think it mix with the ginger smell) disturb me. something spicy..And this smell is strong on the 1-2 hours. This is funny because I love provocative and the ginger and sandalwood smell are stronger. I read the review here and I bought this beauty online. So I asked my mum if she want to wear it and she said yes. If she said no, i'll wear it anyway. since it's not the smell of something that make my head spin or i have to cover my nose or even hold my breath or make me puke. fyi, i still cover my nose in some taxi/car, and run & hold my breath in the mall where the burn the perfume (esp when I'm visiting malls in UAE) in order not to get puke.

boszorkany

What an UNDER RATED BEAUTY! I can't believe that someone said that this was "boring." The price is dirt cheap but the smell is very complex and addictive! It is definitely a green woodsy spicy musky scent with some sweetness to it. Very unusual and not the run of the mill bubble gum skittle sickly sweet ready to eat scent that is crowing the market place. You may not like it the first time around. I didn't. And something funny happened the second time around. It slapped me in the face and boy was I surprised to find out that this is a true beauty. Maybe it should be called Sleeping Beauty, because it was a sleeper the first time around! LOL!

mirul

Perfect for work. inoffensive. Good amount of powdery smell.

Bollen

This is a very inoffensive perfume. (I find it hard to identify the notes at all, so IMO it´s a bit boring and generic.) Perfect for occations where you can´t/shouldn´t smell to much, work for example. Definietly a dayscent.

Poor longevity and sillage. (Like almost all of EA´s perfumes sadly.)

hedikukk

Perfect work perfume. Its subtle and very pleasant. Its definitely not for teenagers. Id say 25 and up. Its suits me well because Im 26 but look like 18 so it adds maturity. The sweet fruity ones are too girly.

Camden-esque

This is one of my favourite, a strong fragrance without being over the top. I feel the market is saturated with so many 'sweet' fragrances, I find this one so refreshing by comparison. The smell itself is very woody but sophisticated. For some reason I assume this is what the rich & famous naturally smell like (yes a weird thought I know). I ALWAYS get compliments on it when I wear it.

This fragrance is sold for ridiculously cheap here in Australia. At the moment 100ml bottle is being sold for $13 at Terry White Chemist. If I didn't already have a truck load of other fragrances I need to go through, I'd pick up spares of this.

Su_Bakshi

This is such a beautiful scent! Very subtle yet intriguing. There are days when I just crave this perfume. It makes me want to look good and beautiful. I adore it.

SIPLANTIS

I am so pleased for the positive comments that made me buy this fragrance otherwise i wouldn't discover it. It is a real divine. Can't stop smelling it. The second thing i am so happy is this fragrance is so similar to my dear perfume called Paco Rabanne XS which i was wearing it in my teenage years :). Thank you to Fragrantica members for the lovely reviews...

nathalie87

And i must add that i think this is very underrated, because it truly is a very nice scent!

nathalie87

This is such a nice fragrance! Sophisticated, a
Little floral, a little spicy and cosy.. It is what i imagine a kind and elegant teacher would have as her signature scent:-) it can be used all year around but i find it very apropriate in the colder months, because of the beautiful subtle spicyness:-)

RavynG

So is "sexy" the only thing people nowadays look for in a scent? What happened to "elegant", "classy", or "sophisticated"? Fragrances evoke moods and frankly I do not want to be in a "sexy" mood all day and night! There is a time and a place, but not 24/7! Anyway, here is my review for this exquisite perfume:
Do not let the description "green floral" throw you into thinking this is only for Spring and Summer. IMO it is much better suited to the Fall and Winter, the heat zaps this scent of its energy. This is a sophisticated, classy, elegant scent but delicate and subtle. The florals are exotic, modern aquatics that are cooled with iris and ginger(a cool spiciness!) and then warmed with sandalwood and amber and musk. Picture a Japanese garden in the Fall with red maples and green tea being served by a honey-eyed geisha with bamboo in the background and the playing of flutes drifting to you from the distance... Or a smartly dressed woman in a beige suit with an ivory silk blouse sitting at a cafe in Paris sipping her coffee while the wind whips the fallen oak leaves around the ankles of the passersby... There is a serenity that is crisp and energetic in this scent. It is very feminine and I would say is as wearable for the new college student as well as her mother or grandmother because this scent compliments the wearer's own energy. This is lovely. And can easily become a signature scent of a woman who knows who she is and what she wants to show to the world. Not a "bedroom" scent, but who spends all their time in the bedroom? (Don't answer that...)

Bublegum

Beauty is a nice light perfume. In the beginning (at my skin) it opened with the green and bergamot notes and for about an hour I could smell the ginger taste. It was a strong opening that I wasn't sure if I like or disliked. But after this hour, the musk and sandalwood notes poped up and it was an absolute beauty. It is a light perfume for a spring or morning or afternoon. Its duration is about 4-5 hours and its projection moderate.

Tine1world

It's such a shame that only after visiting here today, have I felt compelled to use EA's 'Beauty'. Again. This is thanks to all you lovely well meaning humans who share a common passion for fragrances.

I haven't worn this fragrance for over 4 years. Just because some Troll at the local Library made such a fuss over the aroma, This TROLL was continually pointing out to all the males at the computers and saying. 'What's that smell'? Believe me there are some bonofide sociopaths who visit the local libraries and she was one of them. Even though this troll wasn't directing at me, off course not. There were dozens of males around I was the only other female, and 'missy plain butt ugly' had to put me down. A complete stranger yet vying for male attention in so much so as she in her vexatious manner, me being the buxom blonde at the library computers for a reason other than her agenda. Which. Mind you readers and fellow 'Fragrantica' members she was there for on line lonely heart sites. Each their own.

My ex hubby is a stalker, our computer was down, and me being a retired teacher insisted we my son keep up with his studies and to the library we went.

It was winter. I associated this fragrance with winter, though many of you like this in the summer.

Like this prejudiced troll, and yes a real troll indeed. Was she being paid my ex to publicly humiliate me?

Anyway. Thanks to you here on 'Fragrantica' and after reading the reviews here. I feel safe to enjoy this fragrance again.

I paid 10 Aussie dollars many, many moons ago for a 100 Mill Flacon slightly 'Clinique ish' in it's design! It lasts all day on me and is quite strong , according to this troll, from a fair distance too. I just retrain my brain to stop feeling hurt by that bully troll, even though it was years ago.

Elizabeth Arden seems to live in the shadow of 'Estee Lauder', these two cosmetic houses I see as main rivals.

There is nothing really wrong with EA's fragrances I am a huge fan and thank the universe that they are reasonably priced and accessible.

I like this fragrance on crisp cold frosty day's even though reminiscent of L'Eau Issey' which I like in the summer. This is in my opinion a Little 'Beauty'.

Cheers T.

sim sinto assim também; pode-se usar em seu dia-a-dia;em seu trabalho/ Muito pouca silagem!!

lindafoley58

Just got a mini of this and was shocked. I was pleasantly surprised about the fragrance. This fragrance can hold its own with the big name designers. It came off very intense, then settled down to a warm floral. I'm looking on line and the price is very reasonable. I just got in an Oscar product & was disappointed at it because as soon as I sprayed it on it just completely die and they're was no remnants of the fragrance half an hour later (glad I bought the small bottle). I will be purchasing this one with confidence in the future. I love it!

Dayi Marquez

Bought this fragrance for a very reasonable price. What I do love about Elizabeth Arden perfumes is that they are feminine and classy. It starts out a little sharp but it quickly settles into a soft powdery floral fragrance. I can smell the rice flower and this gives the fragrance a very different sent. I do believe that this is a scent that I do expect to smell on a more mature woman like early 40s and on. I am only 29 so I am not sure if I will keept it or give it to my mom.

Juliana6

With my blind buys I have this thing- the less expectations I have for a perfume, the more beautiful it actually is. It was the same with this perfume.
The opening is quite strong, floral burst mixed with a light, spicy veil which flows through all the perfume development stages. The dry down is protecting, warm, "waterproof". I have associations with the song "Autumn leaves" played slowly on the piano. Classic (even a bit vintage), elegant, "adult" and a bit nostalgic, there's a light bitterness like the light autumn evening sadness over your soul. It doesn't hurt, it just makes you remember and appreciate what you have and what you will have. For a woman who knows what life is about.
I guess it will be one of my favorites this autumn and winter.

jamaral

Foi uma compra com base nos comentários, o resultado foi desastroso, nunca consegui sair de casa a usar este perfume. O perfume funciona como ambientador de WC.. Não consigo gostar nem um pouco. Desculpem-me!

celebrity89

Reminds me of Splendor or Girard Provence Spring. Mediocre floral.

SzekelyEmoke

I was afraid to order Elizabeth Arden perfumes since all the bad reviews, but then I ordered this and I like it!! :)
Has a bit of sweetness, but the rice flower and the iris are very sharp though, giving an almost bitter kind of smell to the perfume.
Anyhow, I find this scent very familiar, I probably smelled it somewhere or on someone before. Very feminine!

Mooniq

Many years since I had Arden Beauty, I bought it last week. Still a beauty - fresh, clean flowers, rich. A great summerscent. On my skin I can smell mostly Magnolia, Ginger, Rice, Rhubarb, Bergamot, Musk & Sandalwood. A safe buy - it brings a big smile on my face.

ShellBelle

Got this yesterday as a blind buy and I just adore it! Very fresh, green floral. This is a great everyday scent and it's great for summer. My only complaint is it didn't last long on me. I picked it up for $7.99 at Marshall's for the 1 oz. It does not smell cheap, it is a very lovely perfume that you can't go wrong with.

Ayina

I'm a big fan of EA house. And this is my favourite so far. It opens with with fresh lotus and rhubarb. I can also smell ginger. I live in tropical country and it last more than 8 hours on me, better than others expensive perfumes I've tried before. The price is affordable. One thing for sure, it doesn't smell cheap! I've got many compliments from my friends.. It is perfect for works and everyday use. Love this fragrance so much. Definetely going to buy another bottle for the rest of my life......

mademoiselle04

This scent suits great for very hot days. It smells fresh, clean, green and a little bit sweet without being overwhelming. This is not a special perfume, but it is safe for an office environment, or as a day wear scent, not for special occasions though. On me it lasts about 3 hours.

lirael00

I like Beauty but I wish it would be stronger. I don't know what it is, but whenever I spray it on myself, half an hour later I can barely smell anything. Maybe it's just my skin. Anyway, in the beginning when I can still detect it I get a scent of rice fields bathed in sun. It's a very crummy scent that doesn't demand an attention. Perfect for relaxtion of everyday stress. The staying power could be better.

marcelaip

elegante, una de mis fragancias favoritas, para toda edad, no se arrepentirán

Ioli19

This really surprised me, I bought it blind as it was cheap, so was expecting something of less quality, but this certainly doesn't smell cheap! You would think it would retail for more!
The lotus and iris are very prominent but the rice keeps the freshness from becoming crisp, so it's a light floral of the green variety but also not cold, it's welcoming and almost warm! It's a smooth floral green, for all occasions and all seasons! It's cold here today and it copes well! This grows on you with every wear, is versatile, not a OMG perfume, but it will be a loyal companion!
The bottle is lovely and classy and compliments the elegance of the perfume.
Let me say that sillage is moderate, longevity better than most expensive top perfumes, and as its being discontinued go try it now!

the_new_esta

Good one for collectors looking for a cheap blind buy. Not too sweet, not too strong but lasts well. Just 'nice' :) but that is about it. I gave my bottle to my mum.

Bluehonda

This was a blind buy for me at a charitable event. Not bad for the low price. I usually prefer fragrances with more character so this is not really my style. But it is light, pretty, slightly floral, and totally inoffensive. I can wear it to the office without fear. It is just too ordinary for me to repurchase when I use it up. Update: I ignored this for several months (originally purchased in the fall) but was looking for a lighter fragrance for warm weather and tried it again. Like it much better now, as it seems this fragrance was made for a warm summer day. Seems to have more staying power on a warm day, and its green freshness is just right in July.

Princess Adora

A very fresh yet sweet and watery floral scent, this along with pretty are my favourite Elizabeth Arden scents because they feel more modern to me, I wore beauty on my wedding day and got compliments about it,will repurchase.

TankGirl

Tried it after 3 years since last time I tested it.
Top notes are quite vibrant, fresh and interesting. Reminded me of the freshness in CK truth .Develops into a very random and uninteresting shampoey scent. Quite a disapointment, wont purchase it as I was planning to.

SorceressOfTheDark

The sky is clear, with little clouds. I'm sitting on my deck. Indian Summer is here. The air is fresh and crisp. Watching the breezes blow the long grasses at the edge of the lake, I see Mallards in the distance frolicking. The grill is on and I can smell the gingered rice simmering. I'm relaxed and life is simple. That's what Arden Beauty brings to mind.
I picked this up for a mere few bucks today so I figured I'd give it a try. A very comforting, comfortable scent that I'd like to wear on week-ends relaxing when I'm not rushed. Or out to a quaint lunch or antique shopping. Arden Beauty is a mature scent, no sweet notes here, no fruity nuances either. Gentle wood scents come into play eventually but the true beauty of this perfume is the ginger and the rice. It's absolutely delicious.
There is an earthiness that I enjoy in this fragrance, a sense that makes me feel at home with myself. I don't have to be anyone else. I'm not worrying about how sexy this perfume is, or how sultry, or if it is too sweet for anyone's taste. It brings me in to my own personal space, allowing me to reflect and enjoy my own scent mingling with this perfume.
When I smell new-mown grass and walk in it, it's a delightful experience for the soul. It's exhilarating. You inhale the fresh aromas of the cut grass around you as you walk in it and your mind cleanses your soul. Arden Beauty has that green freshness ability to exhilarate you and make you at peace with yourself to be you and no one else but you. For those of you that are confident and ensconced in your maturity level to accept yourself for who you are, this is a fragrance to wear when you just want to kick back, laugh and relax and be who you are.
Simple, elongated, rectangle bottle says it all. Good longevity with a beautiful radiance.

robbinthehood

I just bought this perfume, so my opinion on it might change as I get more used to it.

It starts out very sharp and I didn't like it at all. After a while it gets softer and a bit soapy. I like this perfume, but I feel like there's something missing, something that would make it stand out more, something like mint I guess? (Maybe that's just because it reminds me of Florabotanica haha.) I think I'll be wearing this a lot (especially since it's so cheap!).

schamberae

I just received my Ab from online store. first spray it's a little bit strong, kind of rare flower that I never understand about it but i've been smelled it before long time ago. Typical classic 90's perfume that all women supposed to smell like this. Can anyone tell me what kind of scent on the first spray? I need to understand this kind of scent. It's bitter but little fruity, and a little bit like old stuff that stored in a room.unique

I think now I know, that the scent is kind a scent that trapped on a sprayer for months or years. and now i found this perfume is sweet and fresh. nice, and one more...this perfume, you should wit until the drydown, otherwise you will judge the tad pepper is too strong. just wait and see.
And hey.. admit it ladies, affter 30 mins-1hour, it smells like Dior J'adore :)

VanillaTabbyCat1963

I completely agree with the reviews here: Beauty is a gorgeous fragrance that is so right for both formal, weekend and office.

Now that cooler days that are resurfacing, effecting the staying power of this aquatic/wood themed scent, as they say in Massachusetts, dawn broke over Marblehead!

Finally I realize it's the the hellaciously hot summer climate that kills this (and others) for me during our longest season.

I am fortunate that my local Ross, a hop, skip and a jump up the road two short exits seems to lately perpetually stocked with this, for peanuts.

Beauty will be one of my go to scents for autumn/winter

stormyla

This is the first Arden fragrance that I've worn in many years. ArdenBeauty is a very pleasant floral fragrance. The Lotus is wonderful and makes this fragrance quite distinctive.

The sillage is about 3 feet and the longevity is a wonderful 10+ hours. As such, this makes a great work scent or suitable for day long outings. It has more character than most florals I've smelled recently and to me that's a good thing!

Mozartiana

Thank you @mereltje for the info! I got myself a bottle of this today. I gotta say I am quite surprised to find EA products in discount stores. I got the impression that the company underwent some major changes that reflected on their market strategy.
I disagree completely with people who say that this is a sweet fragrance. It cannot be further away from the truth. It is a lovely floral-aquatic-woody composition with moderate silage and long lasting life on skin (around 8 hours). I smell orchid and lily the most, following with an iris, sparkly apple sandalwood heart to the aquatic and mossy-like dry down. A nice and unoffensive fragrance, suitable for every day and every occasion I would say. It cannot get better than this for the price. Don't expect anything groundbreaking here. Put a label of (insert a niche perfume house by choice) and you would get a decent fragrance charged $200 easily. If you are a lover of delicate floral compositions buy this one, you won't be sorry.

mereltje

Ladies in Holland: Action (the store) is selling EA Beauty edp 100 ml at the moment for just 11,99 euro!!!!!

Soulpips

I just ordered a box of Arden Beauty. My hands are crossed and i can heavily smell the wooden scents already. Will be back to share my practical thoughts on the beauty.

lattekisses

I love this perfume, its sooo elegant and classy,i always felt like Audrey Hepburn each time i had it on.
For me the bergamot and ginger are the top notes which gives it this spicy feel, leaving you enveloped in the other subtle notes. Its a sexy but elegant perfume, guys appreciate the fragrance on ladies!!

ojosverdes

I'm writing another review as the first one was an impression of the perfume on somebody else. I was the lucky winner of the giveaway given by Tomasania. Thanks again for your generosity. Now I will be reviewing this beauty in my own skin. To begin, this scent is either a love or hate type of perfume. I would not call this perfume floral, this is an Aquatic scent, if you don't like aquatic scents then stay away from this one. Think Kenzo L'eau or the aquatic scents from this brand with a twist. I've only smelled Kenzo once or twice but it was enough to create an impression of the scent. ALso think of Tommy Girl, this scent shares some similarities with that scent as well. This is soft not in your face but it packs a punch when you first spray it. Arden Beauty it's not as aquatic as other scents but it's definitely it's main character. It's got a floral aspect to it, but it's subdued by other notes like ruhbarb and ginger. So, it's more spicy than floral in my opinion and quite exotic. There is a note in there that reminds me of tea. Tea is not listed as a note, so it can possible be the effect of various notes. In my first review I indicate that I thought the scent smelled like Jennifer Lopez's Still which has that tea note, perhaps this is what I found similar about them. This perceived tea note gives the scent a feeling of dryness. Almost like you are smelling black tea right after it's brewed. That particular note softens quite a bit throughout the development of the scent. This scent has no sweetness at all or very little. So if you don't like sugary scent this might be worth a try. The packaging is deceiving. They should have market it differently. The image this scent is trying to project is totally different from the scent itself. A brighter more beachy type of bottle with a girl by the beach would have been more in tune with this scent. I think this scent will appeal to aquatic and non floral lovers. This would be great for spring but more for hot summer days.

pipergirl

This is another pretty, fresh, wearable, light floral from Elizabeth Arden. On me there is a gentle, underlying spiciness to this perfume that I really like..I can see where some of the reviewers are getting "sexy" from this fragrance. I'd call this one: simple, inoffensive, tasteful and, yes, even a little sexy. I like it.

(Note: this dries down to a mild/light scent but I find that, while subtle, it is still noticeable to others especially in warmer weather)

PerfumePatty

I got Beauty in a swap, and I liked it. It's a
"nice" perfume - I'd classify it as an aquatic floral green - it's a fresh, clean, light, feminine floral. It's non-offensive, great for spring and summer. I like it because it's versatile - suitable day or not, casual or formal. Beauty reminded me a little of Avon's Little Black Dress. It's a tad synthetic, and unfortunately on my skin, I picked up a little "pencil shavings" smell, which I often do with synthetic wood notes. (I got pencil shavings from Little Black Dress too). But overall, it's very nice, at a very nice price! Good sillage and longevity, great bargain, good one to add to your wardrobe for everyday use.

Pasaka

Efflorescence, completely agree with you. I felt seduced by this smell as well :D It's from the same perfumer who created Armani Code and S.T Dupont. Powerful stuff! Need I say more?

Pasaka

I adore this perfume! Very clean, fresh, feminine and sexy!! It makes you feel confident and successful. You feel like a true lady or business woman. Can't find better day wear smell for spring/summer. Great staying power and projection! 10/10

VanillaTabbyCat1963

I love lotus...and ginger, rhubarb, iris.....I love Arden's Beauty. My only complaint is in the same camp of some of the other reviews: Beauty doesn't last!! It seems strong enough when I first apply it, but Beauty fades within no time into a very soft veil- before disappearing into nothingness.

Like with all new perfumes, I must try a few times before I know if I'm just anosmic at the time, for it would'nt be the first time.

Being a lotus themed fragrance,I was compelled to pick this up, but price ruled my decision and sealed the deal. Impossibly inexpensive, at less than ten bucks or the 1.7 oz., I'm going to find some redeeming qualities at that price.

The only way thi will last a long time is if I store it way in the back of the bottom perfume shelf

nellyrlight

love this passionately! try it! so very unique..unlike anything..you will get compliments non stop..clean, fresh..and has staying power..does not turn bad on you..great notes!

Eridanshay1

This is a "nice" perfume. Nothing shrill. It most likely is safe for office and church wear, and if you over applied and were in a full elevator full of people who didn't really like scent, I can't imagine anyone complaining. To me it is just a non-offensive, feminine and clean, very light scent. Sort of like lingering shampoo smell or a just showered with floral soap smell. I didn't like it. I didn't not like it.

Barbarasvc

SMELLS REALLY CHEEP, ON ALCOHOL, IT WAS A BLIND ON-LINE BUY, I EXPECTED AT LEAST SMALL POWDERY MOMENT - NEVER HAPPENED. I`LL KEEP USING IT AS A DEODORANT WHEN GO JOGGING OR TO THE CORNER SHOP, NO USE FOR ANYTHING MORE.

millie1980

I don't understand why this is described as a daytime, spring/summer fragrance. For me, it is quite potent. It is a fresh oriental, but rather intoxicating. I think it is an evening fragrance, it's not subtle enough for the daytime or in the office. I'd wear it occasionally.

I like it, it has an elusive quality which makes me want to take another sniff. But I don't love it. It's just a little bit too obvious and attention-seeking. I think the problem is that the other 'oriental-lite' I own is Chanel Allure EDP. Beauty lacks the classy refinement of Allure, it's just not in the same league.

tourmali45

Perfect illustration for Arden Beauty would be Claude Monet's "Bridge Over a Pond of Water Lilies". Leisurely summer day, happiness and tranquility in the air. When I wear this scent it's like I'm trying to draw some of the happiness and harmony onto myself. I love how this scent makes me feel - it's another serene me, happy-go-lucky me.
But it works like that only when it's warm, in winter I get the clean and sterile-smelling aquatic notes which i'm not particularly taken with.

ka4ka

Though got it as a present for my granny, I sometimes use it myself too. Moderate price, extra long lasting and a quite nice ageless smell. Arden smells all are usually good, lasting and with normal prices

PLUMPIE

My extreme hot summer fragrance clean invigorating ginger and bergamot refreshing and light to wear in a heatwave good classic inoffensive choice for the office too.

Efflorescence

This perfume left me horny and lightheaded. I have never experienced that with a scent before! What IS this stuff? Either way, I'm intrigued...

canadianpetite

Very fresh, light, floral. Good for office as not offensive at all. Smells clean. Doesn't stand out. Not one that I would continue wanting for my wrist to get that special note. Just….clean. Sears sells it now and then for $20. Nice large bottle for the price.

The Swedish girl

Melting plastic, peach, green sharp stuff, cleaning products and public restroom - that`s how this "Beauty" smells.

Very similar to Elizabeth Arden True Love.

Why does every other perfume today smell like plastic and rubber?! I don`t get it.

Yuck.

Trinidella

Office scent, pleasant and tolerable.

nightcat23

This is such a bland fragrance, not really much in this. Must be the rice flower

frusia

It's nice, and I really like the rhubarb and the rice flower in it, but it just smells sort of detached, as if it didn't blend in with my skin, but just sat there like an artificial patch of something. And it does get a bit headachy on a hot day. So no, sorry, Beauty...

HeidiLynn

Got this at TJ Maxx for about $10 US, as I thought some of the note would work on me (amber, musk) and I really like the idea of wearing a floral but have a hard time finding one that works on me. I tried it one day for work, and actually barely remember smelling it other than a "green" and a little acidic start--and ended the day with a horrible headache. I'm going to try it again some time, as the headache could have totally been a coincidence. I was surprised that I barely noticed the fragrance; I'll need to pay more attention, as I want to pick up on the subtle notes everyone else smells.

PS: tried this a second day and really dislike it--starts out this sharp green floral (maybe the rhubarb?) and then goes away, I can't smell it and yet I get headache-y. Going to try to return it :( Anyone who wants to purchase a barely used bottle--PM me.

kislany

A lovely floral and quite feminine, a scent for a woman (not a girly scent). I love the opening floral tones which deepen to a musky aroma as the time goes by.

The only problem I find with it on my skin is that it doesn't last too long. Have to reapply more often than other fragrances I have. Still great catch for such a low price.

Kittycat63

How nice to see Arden Beauty getting all these positive reviews! Some people are so snobby they'd immediately reject out of hand a perfume that costs so little money, that isn't necessarily 'cool', or whatever, and probably not even bother to try it for themselves. The women who are more open-minded though mainly seem to have been rewarded for their willingness to give this lovely perfume a go and they seem to love it as much as I do!

I find it almost incomprehensible that such a lovely, classy, long-lasting, 'anytime, anywhere' and nicely packaged perfume could be so cheap! It smells miles better than many perfumes I've either had or tested that cost many times more and the fact that it lasts so long (on my skin for 24 hours or more without refreshing it) makes it even better value than it already is! It's definitely one of my Top 5 blind buys and I hope they never discontinue it!!

Personally, I think Arden Beauty has to be one of the best budget priced perfumes out there.

KATeriCOS

This one is so sexy! One of the most unforgettable scents out there. No other floral has its strong character. Ultra fresh, feminine, sophisticated and very elegant.
I've been addicted to this since I was 11 and often used to steal it from my mum. Very inappropriate for a little girl, I know!
I find Beauty very similar to L'Occitane's Fleurs de Brignoles, with the latter being softer and more subtle.

bobo1

To me it is an AQUATIC-green-floral-woody. In this exact order.

Lushylori

I really Like this one.
With Most of Elizabeth Arden scents,I can detect a similar opening but I'm not complaining because I've yet to find an Elizabeth Arden scent that I didn't like.
I like them All thus far.:)
I like her fragrances because they all smell like they were made for a woman and not a little girl.
I don't find this offensive and I would wear this one to the office as long as it was sprayed a little and not too much or other wise it could offend someone that wasn't into this type of scent.
I notice that lots of people chose this to be a summer perfume????? Too me it would only be for summer if it was to be worn in the evening out for a nice dinner or something...I think I would wear this one in the Winter Or fall myself but maybe I'm just weird like that.
Its a great perfume for a great price and the sleek bottle is rather nice IMO as well. :)

caca102

On me, this is very similar to Sunflower, except that Beauty is slightly sweeter and more feminine. Unfortunately like all other EA fragrance I tried, the opening was nice and fresh, then it turned into a bitter, oily synthetic smelling fume. It might have something to do with the ingredients they use. This would have been a wonderfully sweet and fresh fragrance for warm weather if it didn't clash with my body chemistry.

leila_mic

I tried it about 2 months ago in douglas and said to myself ... yeak! horrible ... I went this week to another shop and tried it again, just being curious how could it smell so badly ... it's great! I think the first bottle was too old - now I'm really thinking of buying it for myself ... a great fresh smell, a little sweet but in the right way ... a scent for the whole year

I'll go and try it again

Trinidella

I like this scent for the office. It lasts all day, without a refresher. It is feminine.

loonad

a blind buy which lived to its reputation-very clean smelling.love the summery smell.

hannie5

Another wonderful Arden fragrance. The flowers, Rhubarb and musk really stand out. It is perfect for those romantic evenings!

novi.kumalanew

yes,,i like top notes n base notes,,but i hate the middle notes...i was smelling pepper n ginger...n not longlasting just 3 hours

varnyte

So elegant, so feminin, so romantic, so gentle, soft, nice. It's real beauty:)

darrshanjvoraa

nice pretty soft floral, in market now a days the florals r too heavy with sweet tones, but this is a beautifully done floral scent with ginger, musk etc, quality floral.

women who r found of florals should keep one of this in their collection

pomdgf

Yes, very feminine like the name Beauty. I love ginger and an expensive flower Iris that makes you very feminine. Use it when you dating with a guy in some restaurant near the river and the wind blow your hair. Can u imagine? Very feminine, light, beauty. soft. Never miss.

jena.peterson

I wore this constantly when I was a flight attendant. I worked in smaller planes- our airline had CRJ-700's which only seat about 72 people, so super strong or overpowering perfume was a bad BAD idea. This one was gorgeous and feminine, but also subtle. I got a lot of compliments on it. I'm surprised it's described here as a green floral, because I didn't get those notes from it at all. On me, it smells very red, if that makes any sense. I get a sense of red flowers when I wear it-roses and lush tropicals. There are definitely some plumeria notes in it, and a warm ginger. It smells almost edible-there are some hints of strawberry and plum in the composition. One of my favorites.

Migalex

Lovely perfume. I love wearing it. Really sends me high up. Not boring at all despite its price. Really interesting. Love the lotus and the ginger. Excellent longevity as well and good projection. Reminds me of Chloe but I like it better, despite being much cheaper. It smells complex as well. It is a very nice thing Elizabeth Arden to market some excellent fragrances for low prices. I am thinking of Giorgio perfumes as well.

eLiZaBeTH aRDeN BeauTY

It gives me a Rosy Blush ...Its feel on the skin is savoury and gives a balmy aroma on mine. Think : someone not wanting to let go of ur arm cz u smell ov this! (true story ;) )

Stays decently but not at all pronouced. initially strong but settles pleasantly...just like a lady.

Think a svelte chic in a white dress with light pink and red flowers...open hair flowing in the wind...

Effortlessly Beautifull...i.e. bEAUty!

Dream On :)

sharyssa

i bought a big bottle today and ive had this before but there is something about it i am attracted to its cheap price wise but smell wise its rich like it reminds me of a romantic date with a man who has good taste snuggling up to me at the dinner table telling me how good i smell and me thinking damn its about time i got a compliment on one of my fragrances but why does it have to be the cheapest one? lol overall its a nice expensive smelling scent try it you might like it ;)

missymary

This could well serve as a cheap copy of Lauder Pleasures. Or a companion of L'Aimant. In fact it smells more Coty or Yardley than Arden. It's fine if you want an acid green and chemically linear version of the Lauder.
It stays shrill and then it disappears completely after an hour or so. Correctly priced but good value for anyone on a budget, as an everyday scent.

BlueMoonRose

Found this one for 10.00 at TJ's and it is very pretty and light. For the price it is a very good buy and it is different from the vanilla base I usually go for. Very subtle too, at least on me. I thought I could smell rose or some type of light floral but wasn't sure what it was until I looked it up here. I think it might be the rhubarb or lotus.

beatrix75

i think that this fragrance can be very beautiful on some people (not on me )but some womens have the right skin and personality any way it has something wich is nice and feminal in this frag!!

crysna

flowery, feminine and classy! lovely aroma that embraces u in a softly feminine way. nice longevity around 5 hours on me, perfect to wear on a cocktail or daytime!it really shockme the priceless how it sells now, and good for my wallet! just try it.

angelleew

I don't know what the deal is with my body chemistry, but I wore this when it first came out, went on with an overwhelming floral but quickly settled down into a warm, sexy, inviting rose with musky yet fresh undertones. Usually, Arden scents do not change too much on me, from when I smell it to when I wear it. If a scent will change on me, I can tell when I smell it--get a little metallic blast. This one never did that, I wonder if it will smell the same since I've had my son. It's so interesting to see all of the feedback and learn how differently the same perfume can smell from person to person! Incidentally, LOVED this, and will hopefully get it soon!

EDIT** Now, it is VERY green on me... fresh cut grass and roses. Like someone stuffed me in the grass catcher and then parked me by the roses. Maybe some day it will go back to the warm, sexy roses on me. I am not delighted, but I can wait!

asma.asma

It's very feminine and classy, and I think you should give it a try!

daisyM

I bought it because I love the advertising with Catherine Zeta-Jones. The notes are original, and it's a very good price-quality relationship.
