First spray is a strong wormwood with a licorice note, reminds of cough medicine or menthol candies. But then it develops into slightly sweet powder scent, I’m pretty satisfied. I bought it because it should smell like Felce Azzurra and yes it does, i would say similarity after dry-down is 85-90%

Assenzio is ultimately a very gentle, flowy scent, like a fluffy cloud that envelops you. I can admit that for me, it may carry a sense of melancholy; it reminds me of my dad, of sneaking into his bathroom cabinet, opening his old-school cosmetics leather box, and trying his shaving cream. The opening is, indeed, quite masculine, reminiscent of an old shaving cream, it is green and slightly medicinal, very old-school, and, as it dries down, it becomes a soft, musky, powdery enveloping and comforting scent. And yes, I do associate it a lot with Felce Azzura talcum powder, a blast from the past as well.

Old Spice..but green..

Jesus Christ. A blast of herbal notes. Smelling calm and meditative. From the middle notes a steady sandalwood starts to be noticed. I start to love this fragrance even more than Meharees. So surprised that the rating here is only around 4,10, since I think it deserves to be higher. ❤️❤️

"Annick, is that you?"
This is like Jaipur Homme minus the tonka/vanilla sweetness, (or sweetness toned downed quite a bit). Pretty good choice if you like the Jaipur concept and would want to have a slightly more bitter, less sweet version at hand.

Longevity is crazy like 18 hours easily the problem with this fragrance is that they are too many notes and after some point your nose will get confused i don’t know..

this morning I grabbed the bottle after a very long time and it is so long lasting . It is 21.00 and I can still smell it!
It is green, spicy and long lasting.

Assenzio is one of those fragrances, that really come through in the drydown.

The opening is really quite masculine, astringent and not particularly pleasant. I get a male cologne vibe and the citrusses are dry and kind of cleaning product-y. They remind me in a sense of Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet, which I was not particularly fond of. This goes on for about 15-20 min.

The drydown showcases its truly marvelous and gentle side. That is the real unisex herbal talcum. It does a 360 and becomes a bit chalky sweet, the herbs shine through, but they leave a gentle and warm impression, like a green powdery caress. I smell iris for some reason. Maybe I just smell iris in everything I enjoy.
Or it is some other thing I forgot about.

It's a shame that one has to get through the aftershave phase to experience this lovely smell. I will wear this for some more time and see if anything changes.

It does not project massively, but has a good longevity for a herbal scent.

Smells EXACTLY like the felce azzura you can buy by the metre in German drugstores. Good, clean, vaguely musky, Fresh but not citrusy. A slight aniseed note somewhere, more like a faint memory. All in all a safe blind buy for lovers of old fashioned barber shop scents.

Nothing to do with Felce Azzurra. Perfect summer perfume & long lasting.

The powdery dry-down is very refined, similar to Guerlain's famous Guerlinade, and long lasting.
The aromatic top notes though are not sweet at all, but a refreshing blast of pure citrus: it might scare you at first, but the beaty comes later with the powdery heart and base-notes. One of the few real winners by L'Erbolario: original and lasting. Doesn 't remind me of Felce Azzurra at all ( which is much soapier to start with) but I can understand that remark: both fit the category "Italian easy going powdery freshness". Assenzio ( Absynthium)though is quiet unique and unalike others I know, a quality much appreciated also by other perfume-sites-reviewers who gave her high votes.

I was super drawn to this but it turns out I don't have to buy it because it smells exactly like the good old well known Felce Azzurra products that I already use. I love this powdery, herbal sweetness. Makes me feel so clean and calm.

Gorgeous herby thing! I love it. Really pleasant. Beautifully fresh and aromatic perfume. Yes, it smells of cinnamon on me too, and it's so lovely and warm and soothing, and feminine.

PastelMoon

Herbal talc, a pleasure to use.
Simplistic, Italian and smooth. Definitely worth to try to those who enjoy clean yet warm scents with an unisex edge. It almost reminds me Prada Amber with a more natural and light feel to it.
Long lasting and noticeable.

This needs more love! But I'm also glad it's a bit under the radar. ;)

Smells like baby powder to me :).

I love and bought several times the body lotion of this fragrance, but the perfume doesn't work for me.
I had a sample yesterday and I tried it. Too strong. On me isn't powdery at all. Is herbal and balmy, very masculine. I like the scent but not on me.
Don't know why there is so difference between body lotion and perfume...I suppose the latter is purer, stronger and for that reason (headhache is coming!!)I don't stand it on me, even if the notes in it are the same.

Although is not suitable for me, I think is a very good unisex scent. And I must confess, usually I'm not a lover of unisex scent or masculine one, I like oriental and sweet smells. But this one is really really good!

I'm not usually into powdery scents, but this is one powdery fragrance I quite like. It's green, spicy, and relaxing. I've worn it to bed quite a few times. Light and pleasant. Suitable all year round.

Very nice scent, imo more feminine than unisex.
I tested it only on paper in the shop. The orange was weak, I smelled mostly the lemon (on the sweet, not the bitter side) and artemisia. The spicy notes are also very weak.
Btw. the real name of this is "Assenzio".
A very nice and light summer scent.

This is the signature fragrance of a friend of mine who can't stand perfumes. On her is a perfect talcum. White, brigh, creamy at the same time. And incredibly long lasting. I agree with sistertriked who said the packaging and the photo can be misleading.
Give it a try and you will discorver something very good and unusual.

There are no reviews about this frag yet, and I am surprised. The same as when I remained as if numb inside the Erbolario shop. The image on the bottle lead me to think it is quite a masculine unisex scent; seeing the absynthium flower stamped on it I thought of aromatic plants such as rosemary and salvia, so I shrinked away. Until a lady came to try it and sprayed and ... something happened. It ended this way: I was inside the shop to buy Méharées but ended up with buying Absinthium.
It is a fresh aromatic scent unlike anything I ever met, which contains coriander and clove so I think this is what got me. The lemon in the beginning makes the scent light and fresh and with the drydown clove and orange create a cinnamon effect on my skin. It is fresh and warm at the same time and this scent made me reach for my Youth Dew Amber Nude. These are two complementary scents, as I feel that Absinthium is the brighter side of the darker YDAN. Now I use this in the evening and Absinthium during the day and one scent makes me long for the other, a kind of Dr. Jekill and Mr. Hide fragrance scenario I am passing through right now and ... oh how I love it. I am sure that out there there are myriads of complementary scents (scents that call each other through their intertwining of notes) we do not even dream about. Anyway, why not open a forum debate about that?
From the same line there is the deodorant cream which is very good in summer, try it if you can.
I am sure that if you try Absinthium and if you love the warmth of clove and coriander in general, you are going to love it.
I am pround to give my review for such a surprise.
