Lovely Garden by Oriflame is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women. Lovely Garden was launched in 2012. The nose behind this fragrance is Jean Jacques. Top notes are Rhubarb, Green Notes and Pomegranate; middle notes are Milk, Heliotrope and Peony; base notes are Orchid, Musk and Sandalwood.

Oriflame launches Lovely Garden in spring 2012, a new fresh floral scent of sumptuous and mysterious beauty inspired by green gardens. The fragrance is rich with fresh floral, green and milky notes which seek to evoke the intimacy and beauty of a secret garden.

The composition is created by perfumer Jean Jacques, who put fruity aromas of rhubarb and pomegranate combined with green shades at the top. Flowers of red peony and heliotrope are blended with milky notes leading to the warm base comprised of musk, sandalwood and vanilla orchid.

The shape of the bottle is inspired by the iconic "tea" dresses like those worn by movie stars from the early 20th century. The design and the scent tend to follow retro flair.

Lovely Garden is available as 50 ml Eau de Toilette.

Amethystery, I ve also owned and enjoyed Lovely Garden, and I am happy to tell you that Bella by Nina Ricci smells almost the same, only stronger and a little more tart. Rubharb is the prominent note in both

Amethystery

I mourn this perfume. It's such a perfect scent in every way; it's fresh without being screechy, fruity without being syrupy, creamy without being cloying, and woodsy without being heavy. This was THE perfume that got me into the fragrance world, and I still own a bottle that I use sparingly. I haven't found anything quite like it which is an absolute shame. Rest in peace Lovely Garden, I will always remember you.

It breaks my heart that they discontinued Lovely Garden. It's such a special, well rounded scent to me. Something about the way the tangy top notes sing in the early spring sunshine makes my head spin. And the warm, cozy and creamy drydown feels like a hug. Lovely Garden never fails to lift my mood, and it never fails to turn heads. You'd think for an EDT no one would smell it but me, but it's quickly become one of the most complimented fragrances in my collection, far beyond other more popular scents. It's rare to find such a mild scent that's extremely inoffensive that still gets a reaction out of people. Floral, yet not heady; creamy, yet not sweet; zesty but not sour. It doesn't last very long, but pretty good sillage, and again, divine drydown! Guess I'll have to go Ebay hunting, because I wanna wear this one forever!

I had this perfume long ago and really loved it. Milky notes are prominent. So refreshing and yet still calming. But its longevity is weak and I barely notice the fragrance from me. Anyhow I love the smell of it.

glass_rose

I have had this perfume for a while now. It's a quite nice daytime fragrance, green and fresh. There's really nothing offensive about it, when you can smell it. And there lies the problem; this fragrance is so weak that after a short while it dries down to nothing. The only way to make it last a bit longer, for yourself at least, is to wear a scarf and spray it on the scarf.

This was a blind-buy for me, based on the notes. I love rhubarb and anything milky and creamy. It smells just like I expected, just a little less green than I would have thought.

Lovely Garden opens up with a mouthwatering tart and sweet rhubarb, then it gradually turns warmer and the fresh milk note comes out. Besides that there is a noticeable dry sandalwood note which fits in nicely with the milkiness and balances the fragrance, a little musk and a creamy-powdery, dollskin-like heliotrope note. At the end of the day the rhubarb is almost gone and the scent is completely different from the opening. This has a real development and doesn't become thin and sour or too cloying, so it can easily keep up with more expensive designer perfumes. Fun and easy to wear, not boring, especially fitting in the springtime. It smells better on my skin than on the bottle.

The whole fragrance could be a little more intense, but really, for the cheap price it's fine to just use a couple of extra sprays.

bel.gravia

Ahhhh my lovely garden.. this perfume is in no way sophisticated, or serious, but it's a huge big FUN. Sweet, but with a twist of milk and rhuburb sourness Lovely Garden is like no other in the line of Oriflame. The initial spray kind of reminds me of Amor Amor by Cacharel just not as straightforward, not as dusty, not as citrusy. I prefer Lovely Garden, by the way, it's a lot more lovely, doesn't oblige you, you're just having fun! It's either that I haven't spotter, or really this time Oriflame didn't plagiate anyone's already made perfume, because Lovely Garden is one of its kind. Sweet, milky and sour, yummy!

hminh.nguyen

When I smelled Lovely Garden for the first time, I was expecting to get more green notes out of this fragrance but it turned out that the rhubarb and the milk notes totally overpower everything else and make it smells so cloyingly sweet. The notes combination lacks a lot of smoothness that I feel like the components are not well blended at all. The scents smells too sharp and overwhelming that it makes me feel nauseous just from sniffing it. I suggest getting a sample and trying it on yourself to see whether you might like it or not, do not blind-buy this perfume.

Omg, what in the heavens. This is such a surprise, first perfume from this brand to such an affordable price and I'm absolutely enthralled.

So many have questioned where the connection between the name and the milky top note lays.. but please, indulge yourself in this scent and you will know immediately, it's out of this world beautiful to me. This is garden pleasures pure in a lost in wonderland, lost in time and between the worlds kind of way. Yes, milky flowers and fresh green meadows. Something I searched for without knowing and let me stay at that place for a little while, so thankful that I found something that will take me there anytime.

Who would have thought that this strange mixture can feel so right. The milk note is very creamy and done so well (I tried a few milky perfumes and none of them were as good as this, this is not a synthetic sickly sweet milk note, it's more neutral-creamy like fresh whole milk), same goes for the rhubarb note, very strong, but very seductive and done so well (love Ricci Ricci, but that's rather harsh in comparison). Also notice the dreamy calming presence of Heliotrope. Name, bottle and even the advertisement are a perfect match for this scent. ❤️❤️❤️

Now I'm so excited for the other perfumes from this brand.

alexandraioana.lungu

this is one strange perfume that grows on you. so many people spoke about notes, so I'm just going to share my experience:
I had this perfume in my closet for a while now, said I'd take advantage of the last days of spring to test it out. I sprayed a bit, and enjoyed the (rather milky) smell, but then it seemed to completely disappear. done a couple of things here and there, then moved my arms a bit closer to my nose, when I got hit by another round, this time, less milky, more sweet-sour-floral. cleaned around a room, with no regards to my perfumed wrists. almost 6 hours later, I am still experimenting with the developing aroma, getting the dry spicy sweet sandalwood last. I am positively impressed by the longevity of this perfume; not so much so by its sillage, it stays very close to the skin, a bit more radiance wouldn't have hurt it. but all in all, a pleasant surprise for me, every time I remember to smell it. a 4/5 for me, considering the price range.

meliecat

My mum got this from someone, I nicked it as she is more into spicier scents. As I sprayed on I knew already this is not my cup of tea..I get gardenia there, green notes, something woody and this thing called "milk note?" It definitely is a spring scent somehow. But the sweetness, greenness and milkiness just don`t do the trick for me..It is pleasant, it does grow on you over time. It could be a good choice for after shower I suppose, or walking the dog. But as pleasant as it is, I just can`t see myself reaching for this, it`s just not me...Gave it to a friend who is happy enough with it..

Liene

Lovely Garden opens with sweetened and tart greens, perhaps mentioned rhubarb and milk. However it is more of a warm vibrating scent with a hint of florals. It is rather rich than airy and light. Somewhat nauseating and sharp when it opens, but layered on scarves and coats day after day it lingers musky and soft, so I prefer to layer Lovely Garden on top of itself to have its full potential. Moderate longevity and soft silage for up to five hours.

Nothing very special, really. With a bit of retro sass it is kind of a reverence to the past, but what for I can only wonder. It is budget friendly Oriflame after all, notes are rather artificial and overall execution is so-so.

Alexa94

Very nice perfume and bottle, but I don't know why is it called"lovely garden".Yes,lovely, but why"garden"?At first is somewhat fresh with sweet notes, then you can feel the milk and musk notes.Maybe it's called"garden"because they imagined someone going in a garden with a glass of milk to relax?

AaronStar

Is this supposed to smell like semen?

sarage

I agree with iamoir that this has a wrong name.
I don't have milk growing in my garden :D

A strange combination of something sharp and green and then milky notes.
Not a garden scent, the name and the colour are misleading. There are flowers in the garden!! Not only rhubarb and grass!
I think this is discontinued and I don't wonder why.

malince555

It reminds me of many other Oriflame perfumes like ”Fire” for me is very pleasant but for those who can’t stand vanilla and other sweet perfumes is not a good choice. At moments remins me of Amor Amor by Chacharel i don’t know maybe I’m wrong.
In general this is very nice perfume.

Zoita

Oriflame perfumes piss me off, they all have something bothersome and pungy that makes them similar to one another... Aside from More, Felicity and the dark green Mirage, which were all unique, the traditional perfumes of Oriflame bug me, I'm wearing Lovely Garden right now, and my senses are stinged again...If I only felt the milk...maybe after a while... And all of the above I actually like, are discontinued... Way to go, Oriflame...

monika690

How nice smell, optimistic, in my typical spring, when nature comes to life :)
Feel sour rhubarb, sweet note orchid, milky note, the smell very nicely expanding, not tired of not suffocating. Fragrances somehow did not encourage me to test, and here such a surprise. I have only one comment zapachu- durability. Oriflame could work on durability of smell, because it is really interesting :)

iamoir

Again wrong name Oriflame...What garden? Milky flowers this is...

Weird composition, it is not going to work for everyone, sample before bying. Longevity is weak and sillage is moderate.Oriflame needs to work on these two with a alot of their fragrances. It would be so much better if it was long lasting, then maybe i would consider wearing it.

In the opening rhubarb is almost non existent, if you won't miss it in the beginning, it's going to be three seconds of rhubarb.Pomegranate is right after and then just some green notes, for about ten minutes. Orchid and peony pop up and then it's the milk that takes over. Drydown is milky flowers, that's it. No musk and no sandalwood, which disappoints me a lot. I was promised sandalwood and there is no sandalwood. It is such a crime not to put a more prominent sandalwood; it would be a much more interesting perfume, it would be stronger, sure, but it would resemble a perfume and not a cologne for teenagers.

Well it is a milky creamy floral scent. Daytime and for youngsters.

aquanotes

i didn't smell any floral. to my nose its just milky vanilla, very sweeet. visually lovely.

EvaKmp

You can actually smell the milk! Weird! I really like it for spring and even winter if I feel like something lighter.

nguyenvuhungvuong

The milk note is good and elegant but maybe it's too sweet. I can only smell sweet sweet and sweer
And when it dries down a very good good scent. I'm also felling good after 1 to 2 hour after spray. The bottle looks like a little beautiful dress and the color of this fragrance is very cute. I think it's suit for teen girls and suit for winter night. Reminds me of when i was 20.

Its resemblance to A Straight to Heaven by Kilian adds an intriguing layer for those seeking a connection to another well-regarded fragrance in the olfactory landscape.

Although the notes are completely different, smelling this on paper takes me back to my teen years when my older sister had a couple of Laura Biagiotti perfumes... Roma or Venezia, I'm not sure, Lovely Garden resembles one of them.

Water_is_my_life

Bought this as a blind buy after reading wonderful reviews. I have to say, it's what I expected, but then again sort of not.

First of all, I have to say that my skin is of the "warm" background (I don't mean skin colour here), so my skin really highlights warm notes such as vanilla, sandalwood, amber and resins when these are present in a frag. I just wanted to say this to help others decide if they want to purchase this frag, because if your skin exudes warm notes like me, then you'll likely find the fragance the same way I did. If not (your skin likes to project the green/fruity/floral notes of a frag), you'll likely find your skin projects the green side of this frag more.

Onto the frag itself: Presentation wise, it is very classic and elegant, the colour is an interesting shade of green. A bit yellow-lime green, looks really playful. Sniffing the bottle, the tang of rhubarb jumped out at me, but the milk was quick to follow. The result of the smell: rhubarb with cream. I wasn't sure whether I'd like or dislike this frag.

Spraying it on, I find I liked the sharp green-ness that happened on first contact. I thought it was bearable, but after about a minute or so in, it's gone. :(

Musk and peony take over after a minute or so, and I am left with a sugary scent that rounds off with a creamy end. This scent is very comforting and reminiscent of warm milk in winter...at this point, the frag seems to be best suited for fall or early winter. Definitely not a summer frag. It'll make a good, modest winter frag that's not too cloying.

Two to three minutes in, the frag has been taken over by heliotrope and sandalwood, but the creamy edge of peony persists, continuing to give the frag its "milky" scent. The heliotrope, sandalwood, and musk makes this scent rather cloying, but the peony keeps this frag its "milky" smell and diffuses the cloying sweetness a little.

The overall sillage of this frag on me wasn't that long (phew!) but it was still a good two to three hours on my skin. Owning another Oriflame frag (Getaway), I can say that Oriflame has interesting scents, but the sillage of Oriflame frags in general doesn't seem to be very long. I hope this helped some of you decide whether to buy it or not!

lotus and jasmine

First off, this bottle is beautiful! It may look plain in the image above, but the glass is thick and the entire presentation is simple, crisp and clean. It has a nice heft, and even incandescent light rainbows as it passes through the edges of the bottle. The jus is a crisp and lovely pale green, and this is much much prettier than I was expecting, based on the images I had seen.

The jus inside is nice. It's light, it's sweet, it's creamy. This reminds me of Chopard Wish, without any spice- just the sweetness and the milk note.

That said, this was a blind buy, based on the notes. I was expecting tartness from the rhubarb and pomegranite, and acidity. I was expecting big green aldehydes. Then I was expecting powderpuff vanilla from the heliotrope and orchid, with sandal wood to ground it.

Instead Lovely Garden opens with a nice breath of rhubarb that is gone almost immediately...leaving sweet peony. This is a nice, light, pretty peony with a nice milky note to it...but that's about it. On my skin this is completely linear for the hour it is present. Then it's gone.

I was really hoping for something that would have the subtle impressiveness of the bottle, and that would live up to the big notes the bottle is supposed to contain. I was hoping for crisp edgy acidity and sharp greenness that would gradually mellow. Instead, this is like admiring the sun glinting off of a wind ruffled lake. It's lovely for a brief moment- then gone.

It is however, cheap enough to reapply. I don't find it very impressive, so I will probably use it as a layering scent. If you want something pretty, inoffensive, and faint, this is it. If you enjoy respritzing to freshen your scent, this may be a good choice. But if you're looking for something unique, with an edge, save your money.

LadyPilot

Adorable, delicate and feminine - the name and the colour are perfectly matched with the name and the idea of a lovely garden! It works really great in the summer for endless days in the garden, when it's warm and everything's blooing all around me! And the price is great as for this type of an elegant fragrance.
The milk notes are present indeed, but they are really delicate - like a milky peony scent, not the smell from a milk jar straight from a cow. The most noticable are the floral notes - especially the peony, but the heliotrope adds some warmth to it, so does the sandalwood. Rhubarb? Maybe, but very delicately. All in all, it's a very balanced and simply superb perfume.

ais-sama

On me this is very citrus-y, fresh, and masculine. I think it's bit similar to burberry summer I had. I don't know why I can't smell all those notes listed above, to me it's mostly citrus. Perhaps my nose's tricking me.

Lalaith

The bottle and scent are both really lovely, i love the shade of this perfume. The scent is special, I've never smelled anything like this before. But it's still Oriflame - so lasting power is weak and the smell is not strong. But for the price I got it it's OK.

At first I can smell sour and green rhubarb with a burst of alcohol, which disappears in two or three minutes. Than milky notes with a hint of vanilla appears and blend together with green notes. I smell also something like licorice?!? But maybe it's the sourness of rhubarb combined with milk. Typical Oriflame edge it's a bit noticable.

It's unique and nice scent, not strong, non offensive, easy to wear and comforting. Nothing complicated, just like eating rhubarb while sitting in a grass and drinking warm vanilla milk.

nadicamihajlovic

Literally smells like scythed grass after rain. First spray is beautiful, but than, suddenly, to sweet, and somewhat bitter. Interesting ... suited to mature woman.

djuzz.becuzz

Very unique scent. Takes some 'getting used to'.
Lots of slightly tangy rhubarb and green notes! But as soon as it dries down on my skin it gets creamy with the '(sugary) warm' milky notes and a pinch of almondy-heliotrope. Unfortunately it gets very close to the skin as soon as it settles. Longevity is also poor, around 2 hours on me. It's a shame because I am sure I would have grown to really like this one if only it would actually last.
But hopefully it will behave better in warm weather. Sometimes a bit of sunshine is needed to make fragrances project better :)
♥♥♥♥

ostrich27

this parfume smells great but it is very weak.

Orsyna

I don't know why is it too citrusy on me.I feel citrone and some creamy vanille but the green effect is too much for me.Not my favorite.

berrycool1211

Indeed. It is a lovely scent.
The scent would start off as being soapy in the beginning but after a few seconds, it settles down and becomes softer, green floral and a bit fresh citrus.
Though there doesn't seems to be any citrus ingredients. I am not familiar with most of the ingredients given on this fragrance. I am not sure why but to my nose, it smells a bit like fresh citrus.
It isn't very heavy to wear.
I suppose it's good to wear for casual events and for offices.

Best time to wear: Day
Best Season: I suppose spring is the best time but I think it will be good during early autumn too.
Longevity: 3 hours on average (it does stays on for longer for 6 hours maximum but after 3 hours or so, its sillage becomes weak.)
Sillage: Is moderate for the first three hours or so.

Overall, not a bad perfume if you ask me.

dipisor

A lovely scent, indeed, in the beginning, but the more I smell it, the more I feel it like a men's scent, a sweet one... And it doesn't lasts on my skin, so...no loss.

imochy

I bought a bottle last month, soon after I had the chance to sniff it on Oriflame's catalog. However, it took about a month for me until I finally decided to bring it on a trial-wear today.

I normally wear L'occitane Green Tea for work and most of the other day-things. As for Lovely Garden, I knew it smells okay on the catalog paper - but the coworkers' response was better than I thought I'd get. They liked it! And according to them, it's a great great variation after almost-linear Green Tea scent that has been my signature.

I admit that Lovely Garden is sweet, simple, and cute scent with "green" hints that brings out the ultimate freshness. The milky scent sweetens the overall performance, but obviously not sickening. In fact, it makes it smell even better :)

Sillage is okay. Not big but generally noticeable if somebody stands or sits in two-meter radius, and also when you walk pass them.

As for longevity, remains noticeable until 3pm - which means that it's been 7 hours since i put it on (and it's still going on)

It's not an easy-to-like scent though..
Sniff and check before buying one.

tinylantern

When I first see it, I thought it would be something green and fresh, if not a little bit floral. But what I get is something different... Not that I hate it -- the scent is lovely, with lots of rhubarb at the opening. Too bad that initial scent doesn't last really long -- I hope the opening would stay a little bit longer, since I really loved the initial, sweet yet 'herbal' scent which is rather 'mysterious' for me.

LaDomna

I receive a lot of discarded bottles of Oriflame perfume from a relative who works in their factory. Most of them are not my thing but I was pleasantly surprised by this one! From the name, the bottle and the color I was expecting a bland, boring floral but instead I get rhubarb and milk with a lovely green backdrop. Eating rhubarb with sugar and milk, usually outside in the garden, is such a summer thing for me! And a lovely theme for a perfume! The rhubarb note doesn't last very long, but the drydown is still lovely green, sweet and milky.

gritzalimaria

i think that it is a really good one perfume i like it its creamy and fresh at the same time and its lasting power is great on me (4 hours). i have other perfumes really expensive which last only a half hour!! and i really like this milky-creamy smell! it is different.

Bettany87

I did not think I would fall for what I expected to be a straight up garden-type floral fragrance, but I did. Creamy sweet with a touch of tartness during the initial spray. Rhubarb is present in a light and cheery form while the creaminess of the milk balances the potion. Surprisingly it is able to maintain that green and fresh quality.

It stays close to the skin after the initial blast but the scent that lingers is soft and sweet. Lovely Garden is successfully able to bring me a vision of a garden filled with luscious smelling flowers with the backdrop of dewy grass. I find the beautiful blend quite appealing.

truffles

I don't get this perfume. Where's the lovely garden? To my nose there's just a 'milky' amorphous blah. Visually lovely though!

sauko

Very creamy

r4elle

I was pleasantly surprised with the bottle on its arrival which looks quite vintage and classy. Green is what you would expect the garden to be... Fisrt spray and you are mesmerised with the sweetness of this garden - fresh blossoming sweet flowers on a warm or rather hot day is what you probably imagine. Leaving it to settle down and you realise that rhubarb smell gets in there to keep you up to the green and tangy substance. However it all mixed together is the scent of sweetened milk which is rather warm than cold. Even after a couple of hours the warmth is still there.
I love having this on during colder days as it always balances the outside cold with the warmth of the parfume I am wearing so I let it fool my brain that it is not too cold at all. I can imagine this scent on a breezy spring day on and it will still keep me mesmerised with the clear and yet a complex scent that you always want to breathe in.

mirisfrik

This one is such a dissappointment when I put it my skin. Instead of 'meadow with a lot of beautiful flowers' i get only a low-staying-power sugarbomb that I don't like.

Kirjk

LOVE that Balenciaga-like bottle! On my skin the scent is tangy, a bit cheap yet pleasant rhubarb. After a while it shows nice creamy soft tanginess. I imagine rhubarb milkshake would be like that. (-: Longevity isn't that great (read: poor) but maybe it's not bad in this case. This scent might cause you a headache if you had to smell it all day long..

marcela86

This is similar with Avon Little Red Dress and Avon TTA Romantic Voyage. Top notes smell like ripe kiwi (perhaps is the rhubarb), but after few minutes become sweet and powdery. I don't get all the notes listed above, only four of them: rhubarb, sandalwood, green notes and peony. This also has vanilla. On me it lasts 7 hours, but it's very subtle, a skin scent. I like it!

Patricia888

The boutle is so nice and the first sniff was so good soI bough a full bottle of this perfume. It`s very very nice however after 30 minutes all the perfume is gone and only sugary smell is left on your skin. Very very ellusive.

mellymel

I expected something fresh and summery, but it's unexpectedly sweet and has a heavy scent, like milky sugar. I don't think it's suitable for hot days, but who likes this kind of perfumes can wear it in spring. I gave mine away.

expialidocious

Although its lasting power could be better, it leaves you with a sense of freshness throughout the day. Perfect for the summer and the bottle so tasteful!!!

Gyöngy

Very femine milky fragrance but it lasts only for some minutes. :(

troublepronekid

On me, it smells like mojito - the sweeter version, while on my friend it's woody mixed with blueberry or something like that. I agree it doesn't last much, after about 2 hours I have to concentrate to feel the scent on my skin, but the aroma is wonderful. Actually, all perfumes smell a lot sweeter and powdery on my skin - I suppose it's because of my high blood sugar level - and I have to try really hard to find a perfume that is both citrusy and sweet so that I could suit me. This one is great !

Patricia888

I tested this yesterday and was so pleasantly surprised. I didn`t expect much - I though it will be sharp and fresh but it`s the very opposite - very soft, very creamy and dreamy. I`m gonna purchase it for sure.

RonaRona93

Even without testing it( i may be wrong) but i think it's same as Gucci Envy me 2 , the green color, spring , the notes sound similar . But anyway i think im going to give it a shot! ! I already like it :

Emerald Dust

I am so excited to try this perfume, because I can't even imagine how rhubarb and milk will sound together.

melbritt24

The top and base notes sound wonderful, but not so sure about the peony and heliotrope in the heart. Most definitely placing on my for test list!

Senzadite

The bottle looks like those of the recent Balenciaga fragrances i hope this is a good fragrance because Oriflame is good on terms of aroma but is terrible in the longevity department.
