My hundredth review ! Yay !
As many people have mentioned, this isn’t a true coffee fragrance. The coffee here is very present and strong but it’s very sweet, not bitter in any way. The vanilla is veryyyyy strong, thick and decadent. It also has a slight boozy element. Imagine a very thick vanilla extract and instant coffee / mokha milkshake with an ungodly amount of buttercream and cocoa powder sprinkled on top. Yummy ! That’s what it is, sweet, yummy and appetising. What I don’t like with Comptoir Sud Pacifique fragrances is that the opening is always just nauseating alcohol being shoved in your face full force but…..it goes away fairly quickly so I can’t complain :) This is stronger than I expected it to be, lasts a long time on clothes / skin / the surface of my sink (I spilled some as I was trying to transfer it to another bottle as the sprayer was broken, whoops!! at least my bathroom is gonna be smelling great for days :D ) and is honestly a really good coffee fragrance, but I would like to find something darker and a little more bitter. My quest to the perfect coffee fragrance continues !

If anyone in Europe is interested, I own a 50ml bottle of Vanille Mokha. Shipping from France. Message me if interested :) up for swap or selling.

I absolutely love coffee notes in perfume, may they be sweet, creamy, dry or bitter. I love the dimension they add to a perfume.

I used to like VM but I really struggle with CSP's signature vanilla. It comes too quickly into the perfume's evolution and I find it to be ultra sweet and artificial. I live for gourmand fragrances and I can generally stomach really sweet scents but their vanilla is closer to vanilla-flavored sucralose than any other type of edible vanilla imo.

The coffee is realistic though, but it's way too sweet of a milk coffee cup or cappuccino. Is it a coffee shop cup of coffee or instant coffee bought in a vending machine? Well, it's closer to the latter for me.

In the last two years, I fell out of love with many of CSP's fragrances (and DNA, as a whole). I still revisit some of them from time to time as perception and taste are fluctuating. I don't think I'll ever fall for Vanille Mokha though.

I really like the smell of Vanille Mokha; it's very close to the real thing, not a cup of coffee but a coffee-based sweet dessert. The vanilla pudding laced with instant coffee that my mother used to make comes to mind, and that childhood memory in and of itself made it worth it for me to test this one. And although of course it's very linear and very, very sweet, I don't find it too much, there's a balance there.
So the only question is: however much I like that pudding, do I want to smell like it? And the answer is: yes, sometimes, but probably only when I'm relaxing at home. I made the mistake of wearing it to work today, and I felt pretty conspicuous and not especially professional, at least in the first few hours when it was projecting strongly. But I'd really like a bigger decant to wear to sleep from time to time, for example. So I guess there is one more question: is there still enough of this stuff around to find one?

Thankfully I stocked up on this fragrance before it was discontinued. To me, this is the perfect coffee fragrance. It's coffee and cream with a hint of cocoa. Comptoir Sud Pacifique always has quality products. The first gourmands that I ever encountered was by Comptoir back in the late 80's. I have been in love with this company ever since. If you like one of their fragrances, always stock up!

Need to try this one as the simplistic yet yummy notes sound amazing, any suggestions?

Wow I love this way more than I thought I would. Very realistic. I was worried it would have a plastic smell like some coffee scents but its great and very natural.

Just found this on ebay and all I can say is wow! Starts with a super realistic coffee bean scent that is mixed with what to me smells like coco puffs cereal. Just awesome! Stays super light on me and dries down to a sweeter (but never overly so) vanilla / coffee / chocolate wheat smell that my wife said smells exactly like Cadbury mini eggs lol. Either way, this is an absolute gem, if you can find it and you love coffee and chocolate, don't even think about it, just buy this!

Delicious! Some mocha scents have rough edges but this is perfectly smooth. Chocolate coffee and vanilla wonderfully blended. Delightful gourmand great for coffee lovers.

It is WOW factor! Ashame we can not buy it anymore!

I drink coffe latte. And it has the same fragrance! Sweet gourmand type of cream and latte! I love it!
I am asked severeal times: what are you wearing? Unforunately I have only 5 ml left in the bottom of my bottle, so I will take it to remeber..

First you get coffee beans, then fresh coffee, then a little cream and vanilla...Maybe a half a teaspoon of sugar, but that's it. Not too sweet. Just like a cup of coffee really.

This is the only CSP scent that doesn't turn into pure Vanilla after 3-4 hours. This actually remains Vanille Coffee the whole time. And I don't mind that their other scents do that kinda thing but this is nice vicissitude.

You know the "coffee and sweets"-smell when you go to some meeting or some grown-up bday party or just a coffee shop. This scent is it! I just love it. It's delicious, and yet so elegant and festive.

Use this or Amour De Cacao with Dior's Pure Poison and you are in HEAVEN ! Seriously!

I really wish Sud Pacifique would bring this scent back. I can't figure out why they discontinued it. I've read many times that this was one of their best selling scents of all time after the vanille abricot which I haven't tried yet actually.

Longevity is average edT. Sillage is amazing for the first half hour, then it stays pretty close to skin. But stays all day when layered with something.

launched in 1976? GREAT. Does that mean I won't find a bottle of it?

This juice is like just like a sweet Mocha! Delicious. Right up there with Barista and Espresso Royale.

Thank you Cakes n Cuddles for the sample a while back. I know - I had thought I lost this sample but found it today and threw it on. What a WIN WIN.

Readers - below review from Cakes n Cuddles is SPOT on! I don't think I can add much more.

I finally obtained a partial bottle from a lovely member....oh so happy.

This is a delicious mocha latte with sweet vanilla cream frothed on top. It lasts for a good 8 hours like that, and all day I just want to drink delicious coffee beverages all day.

I get loads of compliments wearing. I hope CSP will re-release this yummy scent.

It is a shame this is discontinued.

Coffee & Cream...

What I find with this one is that it is probably the most realistic smelling coffee imitation scent I have come across. As with other Comptoir Sud Pacifique scents, it's name is true to the fragrance. A realistic smelling mocha cappuccino, or a vanilla mocha to be exact, hence Vanille Mokha.

The fragrance opens up with a sugary coffee note which hits straight away as being creamy and sweet. I can also detect the roasted coffee accord here. It claims to have three types of coffee accords here: Brazilian, Mexican and Hawaiian. These are coupled with a warm, creamy note of Tahitian vanilla. I find it almost mouth-wateringly delicious.

Being a coffee lover, I think this is a fragrance I could wear often. One thing I like about the Comptoir Sud Pacifique series of gourmands, is that they always bring a smile to my face, and this one is no exception. I have heard that it is discontinued, and I think that this is a shame, as this could be my favourite use of coffee in a perfume. I have tried a few others which use coffee notes, but this fragrance is similar to how I like my coffee: creamy, rich, and sweet. Apart from a real vanilla mocha, this is probably the next best thing.

mister_chaz

This is probably the most delicious one out of the CSP range that I've tried. It literally opens with creamy-sweet-sugary mokha! Unfortunately, after a while the coffee scent fades, and all you are left with is vanillic sugar, but not in sickeningly chemical one, it's actually comfy and tasty. It might be too sweet for hot summer days, but perfect for snowy winter-time!

cake n' cuddles

I kid you not, after getting this perfume I started drinking sweet coffee. I never drank it before, but smelling this perfume, I couldn't help but wonder if I was missing something.
The first spray is pure 100% sugary coffee and then it tames down to about 70% creamy vanilla and 30% sugary coffee after about an hour. This fragrance lasts a long time on me, and just like coffee it's addicting.
My favorite time to wear Vanille Mokha is on cold days at college where I plan on buying a sugary cup, usually on exam days.

Tirreni

As a huge gourmand fan I absolutely LOVE this! Yes it's unusual, but then I'm individual...I don't want to smell just like every other boring soft fruity celebrity-scented woman walking down the high street! As with CSP's Vanille Canelle it's a tragedy that they've discontinued this as I love it and received endless compliments from even strangers on it. I need my caffeine-fix...please bring it back!

Hayven

I feel like I just spent a workday in a Starbuck's or making iced coffees at McDonald's. The imitation is so close that it's teetering on Demeter, but the longevity is so much better. It lasted about 4 hours on my skin. This smells like a sweeter I Love New York for All.

Happyme2009

I wanted this one badly, because I adore coffee and coffee flavored deserts. Vanille Mokha is a very light scent, but delicious. Just like tiramisu cake; light, yummy, fluffy. It is one of the best gourmands, because it's so light and doesn't lead into a diabetic crisis. I don't know if what I have is vintage or reformulated, but I surely recommend it to coffee lovers. Basically coffee, cream and vanilla, sweetened. Silage and lasting power are very soft, and while it's true this isn't exactly perfume, I love it. Same story with Amour de cacao. True to the name, simplistic, and fun. No class, no high expectations, just lovely, edible, and lazy, very relaxing. Don't expect much more than the name says, and you will be pleasantly surprised! So yummy I could just drink it!

Cereza

As with other scents from Comptoir Sud Pacifique - you get what you see. This is vanille mokha and it smells simply delicious, but I'm not sure that someone should walk around actually smelling like this.
For my taste it's a bit too edible to wear this, but oh boy how I enjoy the smell of it.
It's fantastic coffee at the opening, it's bitter, it's dark, it's just how I love my coffee, but after few minutes it turns to this sickly sweet part and then I start to think that maybe this is not as great as I hoped it would be. I love vanilla, but this is a bit too much even for me, as someone stated before - it smells like latte with too much sugar and as someone who never uses sugar with coffee, it just ruins it a bit for me.
Anyway, I encourage you to try this, it smells lovely, but too foody, too tasty. Would be suited for someone very young, I don't think I could take seriously a grown up woman smelling like this.

Heverton

Smells like cappuccino! Hahahaha. What a delicious scent! You're paying exactly for what the name of the fragrance says! Be careful, this one makes your mouth water just because it is so creamy.

MISTAKES WERE MADE! Oh my goodness, what could I have been thinking when I selected VANILLE MOKHA as one of my first forays into the house of Comptoir Sud Pacifique? Why would I want to smell as though I just spilled an entire cappuccino down the front of my blouse? Why would anyone else want me to smell that way?

This is Demeter material--big time. With no conceivable purpose whatsoever. When I want to smell coffee, it's because I want to drink coffee! I don't want to SMELL LIKE coffee!

*Bold* note to self, with the hope that repetition is the mother of learning: NO WIRE HANGERS, and above all: NO BLIND BUYS!

A sweet coffee latte smell but not FBW. In fact I dont think i can even finish the little sample. I love Vanilla, but this is sickeningly sweet coffee with not enough vanilla -in fact - i can hardly smell vanilla! To me it smells like someone has ordered a latte, put about 3 or 4 teaspoons of sugar in it and left it to go cold. An hour or so later this is what you get. Or perhaps like an iced coffee. Im sure there are people who would like this, but I dont. Even my husband got a whiff and screwed up his face and said, Eww thats way too much!! I'm not yet 30, but I'm way too old to go around smelling like a Chocolate PaddlePop icecream!

Jasper

To me, Vanille Mokha is my favorite among CSP's vanilla line. It smells very yummy. The creamy-sweetness of vanilla together with devine aroma of coffee, I'm in heaven! I'd always on the fence with vanilla note, never a big fan for gourmand scent but this one sound too good to pass so I bought it. Just adore this gem! Such a mood lifter for me. And I found the staying power is good too.(comparing to Amour de Cacao.)
